The Jubal
Show on demand.
First date follow-up.
Lauren is on the phone today for a first
date follow-up, and Lauren
is a bodybuilder. Whoa.
And apparently she went on a date with another bodybuilder.
Whoa. That's a whole lot of bodybuilding and a whole lot of muscles. Oh, a lot of protein farts. And apparently she went on a date with another bodybuilder. Whoa.
That's a whole lot of bodybuilding and a whole lot of muscles.
Oh, a lot of protein fuds.
Yeah.
God, that's got to smell bad.
Hopefully they showered
before they went out.
I don't know.
Anyway, she said that
they got pretty drunk.
So, Lauren,
you had a pretty boozy night?
He's just my gym buddy,
my gym mate.
Yeah, it was a little boozy.
Nothing crazy.
We're just blowing off some steam.
Before we hear about your date, how long has it been since you guys went out?
One week.
One week. Okay. And how many times have you reached out to him since your date?
Nothing like stalker level. I've only texted him a couple of times, but you know,
we go to the same gym and I thought I would see him there. Um, you know, we go to the same gym and I thought I would see him there. Um, you know, we're usually
there a couple of times a week. Um, but I haven't seen him and he hasn't answered my texts and I
think he's completely fully avoiding me. Well, I wonder why. I mean, it sounds like if you guys,
if you see him all the time at the gym and then all of a sudden he's not there, especially if
you guys compete in bodybuilding or compete, you bodybuilding or fitness competitors or whatever you do,
that dude is probably at the gym all the time, just like you're probably at the gym all the time eating weights.
I know. It's so embarrassing.
I'm there all the time, he's there all the time, and now all of a sudden he's disappeared.
I'm mortified.
Is that where you guys met?
Yeah, we do competitive weightlifting so we met at the gym all of our mutual friends at the gym we've known each other for like I don't know like four or five years now um and we do
competitions together travel sometimes okay so I'm assuming that you think that he's just avoiding
you at this point? Yes, absolutely.
So are you just wondering why he's not, you know, hitting you up?
Or do you want to know if something went wrong during your date?
I mean, yeah, it'd be nice to have a little communication.
He's, you know, it's very unusual for him to not be at the gym or, you know, not text me back.
All right.
Well, tell us about the date.
What'd you guys do?
We had a competition recently and, know it was pretty intense there's a lot of prep for those and we needed to
blow off some steam afterwards there's another guy in our gym who's actually in a band and we went to
go to his show and see him play had some drinks we didn't want the night to end we're a little
turned up so we went downtown
well I mean if he seems to be avoiding you do you know what went wrong
well okay so obviously I've been thinking about it I've been playing the date over and over in my
head and like I know we were drinking but I'm not one of those people that drinks to the point of
like not making memories anymore like I remember remember everything. But there was one conversational moment
that I think might have been the catalyst to him not talking.
Okay, well, you know, we're like a little bit in the bag
and, you know, the conversation kind of took an intimate turn.
We were talking about sexual stuff
and we were talking about, you know,
the kind of things that we're into
and, you know, what turns us on.
And then we both agreed mutually to confess
if we've hooked up with anybody else in the gym
or like the competition circuit, you know.
And I told him that I hooked up with one of his friends forever ago.
I mean, forever ago.
That's probably not a good thing.
Yeah, he's probably a little bit annoyed.
Yeah, and I think that was probably what turned him off.
Weird.
I mean, but, yeah, it is weird, right?
You think he cared about that?
He doesn't want to think about his bro while he's thinking about you.
Yeah, but like,
I mean, grow up, you know?
Like, newsflash, people are
having sex.
Newsflash,
people are having sex at the gym.
People who are gym mates have sex with each other.
Depends on what gym you go to, I think.
It's a sexy place, you know?
Okay, so you think
that maybe you told him
that you had hooked up
with his friend
and that turned him off
and that's why
he's not calling you back
I do
I think that's what
that's what it was
yeah
okay well play a song
come back
and then call him
and see if that is the reason
and then maybe
we can call that friend
and see if you guys
will go out again
if he doesn't go out with you
alright we'll do it next
it's a people show
right in the middle
of your first date
follow up
and Lauren is on the phone
and Lauren went out with a dude named Curtis.
They actually knew each other for a while because they compete.
They're fitness competitors, so they lift a lot of weights.
They eat a lot of protein.
They meal prep.
They compete in fitness events, and I guess they know each other from the gym.
Anyway, they hung out after a competition about a week ago.
They got a little hammered.
Nothing happened, but now he's avoiding her at the gym
and avoiding her phone calls and text messages,
and she doesn't know why.
She thinks maybe it's because when they were talking while they were out,
she admitted that she had hooked up with one of his friends in the past,
and he just can't get that dude.
I can't get that naked dude out of my head now.
It's messing up my, like when I'm trying to bench,
all I'm thinking about is my friend naked
she thinks he might have a problem with that and we're about to call him and find out if that is
the reason why okay lauren are you ready to call him or you want to say anything else before we
we dial the phone number nope let's just dive right in i need to know i'm ready to hear it
all right here we go.
Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Curtis, please?
Yeah, this is Curtis.
Hey, Curtis, how are you?
My name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And my name is Alex.
And my name is English Evan.
And I'm Christian Gray Snow.
Why are you calling me?
We do a segment on the show called First Date Follow-Up.
It's where if you go out on a date with someone and then you end up ghosting them,
they can email us to get you on the phone and find out why you're not talking to them. And we recently got an email from Lauren.
All right.
All right.
Okay. I can't wait to hear this.
Well, we can't wait to hear it.
Why are you not calling Lauren back?
Nah, I don't want to
do that. It's just weird.
Wait, is it personal about you? Is it something embarrassing
for you? No, it's
just, I don't know. It was
just, I don't want to blow up her spot on the radio.
I think that'd be rude and stuff.
Well, she's willing to have her spot blown up.
That sounds weird.
Everybody who does a first day follow-up,
they know that they might hear something they don't want to hear.
So she knows that, like I said, she knows her spot could be blown up.
So go ahead and toss an atomic bomb in there.
She's willing to hear it, whatever it is.
Yeah, I know she's been texting me and stuff,
but I just needed a couple days to kind of, I don't know, lay low and's been like texting me and stuff but i just needed a couple
days to kind of i don't know lay low and just sort of process it and stuff i didn't know how
to respond or whatever you know it's been more than a few days but what did she do that was so bad
i mean she didn't do anything it was just kind of something she said that kind of bothered me oh okay what did she say
i don't know she uh she was talking uh about um hooking up with the buddy of mine from forever
ago and it wasn't even that part it was just uh she started talking about threesomes a bunch and
how she loves threesomes oh okay she's a fan of the three-way. Did someone say threesome?
Yeah, hello.
I know.
And you don't?
No, I don't.
But she apparently loves them,
and she kept ranting and raving about them.
That's all she was talking about for a minute.
What's wrong with them?
I know a lot of people probably think
some people like them,
some people don't, whatever,
but what's wrong with them for you?
They're just gross.
I'm not interested in doing
that like she wants it real bad with two guys and i just i can't get down with that i'm sorry
it's just i don't want to do that okay so you're one of those dudes there's no thank you you know
what i mean okay well would you be interested in one with if was two women? Even again, not really. It's just not my thing.
What?
Weird dude, Curtis.
What?
Why is that weird?
I just don't want to.
Exactly.
That's weird.
Yeah, to me, that's super weird.
But anyway, okay, so that's why.
Because she said she's into having a menage.
She was pretty passionate about it.
I don't want to ruin our friendship just because I don't want to.
You know what I'm saying?
I still want to be friends and stuff, but now I feel like it's kind of weird.
Well, if you want to be friends, then that's cool because she's actually on the phone and wants to talk to you.
You could let her know everything you just said to us, except you already did.
Hi, Curtis.
Hi, how are you?
Hi, Curtis.
You're really avoiding me because I said I'd like to have a threesome.
I'm sorry.
I just can't get down with it.
It's awkward.
In 2022, you have embarrassed me.
Are you kidding?
It's not like I'm out here having threesomes for breakfast, bro.
Also, that might not be that bad.
Sounds like a good idea, actually.
First thing, early morning workout.
Yeah, a breakfast cereal, three way O's.
That'd be amazing.
I would eat three way O's.
Absolutely.
I thought we were just like sharing fantasies.
I didn't think it was,
I really didn't mean to scare you.
I mean, come on, Curtis.
We were just like talking about our fantasies.
I didn't judge you for the sock thing.
What?
For the what?
What?
The sock thing?
Whoa.
We're not going to talk about that right now.
Can we?
Whoa.
What sock thing?
Yeah, I want to know.
That sounds more dangerous than a threesome.
Thank you.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, Curtis.
I mean, we're on the radio.
We have an audience.
Tell them about the sock thing. No,, we're on the radio. We have an audience. Tell them about the sock thing.
No, I did not call the radio.
So we're not going to talk about the sock thing.
There's no sock thing.
I don't like it.
It sounds like there's a sock thing with you, and I want to know what it is.
There's definitely a sock thing.
Come on, Curtis.
Like, I'm such a freak-a-leak for wanting to have a threesome.
Like, let's talk about the sock.
Spill about the sock.
No. I wasn't thinking it was a fantasy of mine or anything. for wanting to have a threesome. Like, let's talk about the socks. Spill about the socks.
No.
I wasn't saying it was a fantasy of mine or anything.
It was just that one time, and then... No, it was...
I've just been thinking...
No.
Okay, that one time, maybe, like, I would do it again,
but that wasn't a fantasy of mine.
That one time, like, years ago,
it happened at the pool, and there's no big deal.
Like, we're not talking about me right now.
I just don't want to do the threesome,
and there is no sock thing, so there's nothing about me right now. I just don't want to do the threesome, and there is no sock thing.
So there's nothing to talk about.
All right.
Wow.
Well, man, I just want to know what the sock thing is.
I'm going to ask you another question, though,
because it doesn't sound like you're going to tell us
what the sock thing is.
Will you email it to us later?
Because I'm really curious.
There's no sock thing.
Okay.
Whatever you say.
Well, would you like to go out with Lauren again on another date?
We'll pay for it.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Can I just interrupt?
Curtis, before you say no, let me respond first.
No, Jubal.
Anyone with that mindset is probably so vanilla in bed,
I'm already falling asleep thinking about it, okay?
Oh, wow.
Boom.
So thanks for no thanks, Curtis, okay?
See you at the gym this week, twinkle toes.
Twinkle toes.
I said I'm not talking about the sock thing.
Thanks, guys.
