The Jubal Show on demand.
First day follow-up.
So what's that saying go?
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Fool me three times. No, third time's not going to happen. No, no. You can't let Shame on me. Fool me three times.
No, third time's not going to happen.
No, no.
You can't let him do it to you a third time.
No.
All right.
I don't know what it is, but I think it works the same with ghosting.
I think you're talking about when you pee and shake.
Oh, yeah, that's what it is.
That's what it is.
Ghost me once.
Shame on you.
Ghost me twice.
Shame on me.
Ghost me three times.
You're playing with yourself.
That's what I'm saying.
Jason is on the phone.
He's been ghosted twice by a woman named Katie, and now he wants to know why.
Jason, what's up, man?
How are you?
Hey, good morning, guys.
How are you guys doing?
Pretty good.
So you've been ghosted twice by the same person?
Yeah, by the same person, man.
What does she do?
So here's what's up, right?
We went out on the first date.
It was a great date.
Things were going well.
We were vibing.
Then she ghosted.
Then a few weeks later, she texted me back, and she's like, hey, let's go out for a second date.
And I'm like, all right, cool.
You know, why not?
Did you ask her why she ghosted you?
You know, no, I didn't.
I didn't ask her.
Because I kind of like hinted at it. Like, hey, you know, I'm really glad that you reached out. You know, we hadn't i didn't ask her well because like i kind of like hinted at it like hey you know
it's really um i'm really glad that you reached out you know we hadn't talked in a while and she
just kind of like danced around it and i just didn't want to pry because like the second day
was going really good and i didn't want it to be weird okay so why do you think you've been
ghosted by her again well because it's been like two weeks now and she hasn't texted me back oh gosh dang she
left me on the red yeah she left you on red for two weeks she's like i'm gonna try it again nope
what do you think exactly i'll give it another shot yeah i mean that sucks why do you think
that she's ghosted you twice i don't know like the first time she goes to me i thought maybe
she just like didn't vibe right and then but And then, but then I was like, well, why wouldn't you, why would she try again?
Right.
And so a couple of things, right.
Like I think could be.
So one on the first day we went Dutch, right.
Like we just went out for a couple of drinks and you know, the bartender brought us each
her own separate bill and I didn't like try to pay for it.
So I thought maybe that could be it.
And then like on the second date, I wore a tank
top.
I was coming from
hanging out
with my friends and we were like by the pool
all day. Oh, you're cute. And then I was like,
I lost track of time and so I showed up in my
pool tank. Are you like buff?
Yeah. I mean, I do okay.
Okay. I'm more concerned what the tank
top looked like to be honest.
You sound humble about it.
It had, you know, it had pineapples on it.
I mean, it was a good-looking tank.
Like, don't get me wrong.
It wasn't like a beat-up, ratty, like, Bud Light one.
I think a good tank top, if it looks good on you, is going to be a good thing on a date.
I don't think it's a bad thing, necessarily.
I mean, I'd be surprised if you're getting ghosted because you wore a tank top.
I mean, but that's like, I don't know what else it could be right like you know if she didn't like the fact that i made her quote-unquote pay for her part in the first
date then she wouldn't have got me back for the second date right i don't know and like i also
talked about my mom a lot because like me and her are close like maybe she thought i was a mama's
boy but like my mom just moved to the city like she doesn't know anybody so of course we're hanging out like yeah like a week right what else you're gonna do yeah okay so you know
either you're in or you're not either way i'm cool with it but like give me some sort of like
explanation so i'm not over here wondering if it's because like i don't know i wear a pineapple tank
top how did the second date end dude we got we got some physicality going on you know nothing
nothing scandalous.
Why would you make out?
Like, you know, why would you get a little, you know, little handsy, little fun time?
Like, why would you, you know, go that far and not, like, want to have a third date?
One thing that worries me when I wear a tank top, normally I don't have body odor,
but if I did, it'd be easier to smell in a tank top if my armpits were not fresh and clean.
Were your armpits musty?
Well, I mean, I was at the pool.
How's the hair in your armpits?
What's a normal amount?
It's pretty bushy, I feel like.
Yeah, I think I see some dudes.
It looks like they've got somebody else in a headlock.
It's not that bad.
It's also not like a shaved little baby you know
it's it's a healthy amount of man hair okay yeah all right well and you want to try to get a third
date if it's a reasonable reason that she's not that she's goes to you twice yeah i mean i don't
see why not right like we've we've been hanging out we've been having a good time so you know if
we just want to keep doing that like it doesn't have to be something serious if she wants something
lighter that's what she's afraid of like we can you know have that conversation all right cool
well we'll play a song come back and then call her and find out why she's ghosted you twice with
your first date follow-up next right cool all right we'll do it right after this right in the
middle of your first date follow-up if you're just joining us, Jason is on the phone, and he's been ghosted twice by a woman named Katie,
and he has no idea why.
The first date that they went on,
he thinks maybe she ghosted him for a little while
because they went Dutch, and she ended up paying her bill.
He paid his bill.
He thought maybe that was a bad move,
but she called him back, and they went out on a second date,
and now she's ghosted him again for two weeks.
She's left him on read, and he doesn't know why,
and he thinks the only reason he can think of is because he wore a tank top on the date, and he thinks's ghosted him again for two weeks. She's left him on read, and he doesn't know why, and he thinks the only
reason he can think of is because he wore a tank top on the
date, and he thinks it was a bad look.
Oh, well, pineapple tank top, right, Jason?
Pineapple, yeah. It was a
classy pineapple tank top. We'll call
her and see if we can figure it out, see if it is
the tank top or something else. Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Katie, please?
Hi, this is she.
Katie, how are you?
My name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And my name is Alex from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And I'm Christian Gray-Snow, also from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
Hi, oh my gosh. But you listen to The Jubal Show. And I'm Christian Gray Snow also from a radio show called The Jubal Show. Hi. Oh my gosh.
But you listen to The Jubal Show, huh?
Oh, sure. I know
who you all are. Well, we're calling you today, Katie,
because we got an email about you from one of our listeners.
Oh, about me?
Really?
It's a guy named Jason and you've ghosted
him twice.
Wait, Jason?
Jason? Yes. Wait. No. Yeah. No, Jason? Jason. Yes.
Wait, no.
Yeah.
No, no, no, no.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no, no, no.
You ghosted him two times.
Yep.
No, no.
Ghosting, that implies we had something going on.
Jason and I, we've just been fun.
If you go on a date with someone, though, and they hit you up afterwards, and you don't
respond, that is called ghosting.
Yep.
Welcome to 2022.
Apparently you've done it to Jason twice.
I mean, I don't take texting that seriously.
I don't know about all of you.
I mean, if people text me, maybe I respond, maybe I don't.
I don't know.
I feel like if people really...
If I was going on a date with somebody,
I would probably tell them that I'm good,
I don't want to hang out again.
Or I do want to hang out again.
But that's not what it's like, though, Jason.
We just get together and it's been fun.
I don't treat it like anything like that that requires immediate response.
Well, we do the segment on the show, the first day follow-up, where if you go on a date with someone and you ghost them,
they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened.
Jason told us that you ghosted him twice, and he has no idea why.
So, in your opinion, you haven't ghosted him?
I mean, not really, no.
He said it's been two weeks since you talked to him.
I know, but, I mean, as an adult, I mean, I can blink in a month's gone by
before I've spoken to people sometimes.
I mean, it happens.
Okay.
Okay, so do you like him?
Sure.
He's so fun, and he's so cute.
Was it because of his pineapple tank top?
No.
We asked him about your date.
The only reason he can think of...
He doesn't even know why you stopped talking to him the first time.
The only reason he can think of that you stopped talking to him this time
is because he showed up to your last date wearing a tank top.
A pineapple tank top. He thought that was not a good look and i asked what his armpit hair situation is like
does he have a lot of armpit hair no i mean i think a sufficient amount for a grown man
well that's good yeah so how come you're not responding to him then
because like i was saying i just i don't take that stuff that seriously. I get back to
people when I get back to people. If it doesn't seem urgent to me. So you still want to date him?
I mean, right now probably wouldn't be the best time. Why right now though?
Well, I don't know how he's going to feel about me talking about this on the radio, but I am in a relationship right now.
Oh, well, that's a good reason not call him back.
So have you been in a relationship since, have you been cheating?
Like in going on dates with him?
Like, is this a new relationship?
I wouldn't call it cheating.
I would say I kind of adopt a sort of habit of slight overlap.
But with Jason, we were just hanging out.
I don't take it that seriously.
My relationship, I take very seriously.
When did you get in a relationship then?
Technically, it's been off and on.
So now we're back on, and we've been back on.
Complicated.
So you got back together with your ex?
Yeah, you could say that. on and we've been back on. Complicated. So you got back together with your ex? Yeah.
You could say that.
So while we were off and on,
if we've been off, then
I have more availability and
I feel like hanging out.
The first time you were out with Jason, did you stop
talking to him because you got back with your ex then too?
I wouldn't say that's why
but I did wind up getting back with him, yeah.
How long have you and your boyfriend, current boyfriend, been together?
A total, it's been a couple of years.
Oh, and so you'll get back together with him, and then when you break up, you'll go on dates with Jason now, I guess.
Yeah, when I've broken up with Jason now, I guess. Yeah. When
I've broken up with my boyfriend, I have hit up
Jason. I think that's fine.
Okay, I wonder if Jason thinks
that's fine. Well, hold on. How come you don't just
date Jason if he's such a great guy?
Why don't you give him a chance? Why do you keep taking your
ex back? Because, I mean,
A, we've never discussed it, and I
speaking for myself, I didn't think
that was really
a viable option.
Jason's just loads of fun.
I don't think he and I are meant for something serious.
Okay.
So he's just the guy you want to hang out with when you've broken up with your current boyfriend who is also your ex-boyfriend.
Oh, I wouldn't put it like that.
Jason's a good guy.
I wonder how Jason would put it.
We should ask him.
Jason, hey, how would you put it?
Hey, everybody.
Hey, hey.
What?
You have him on the phone?
Jason, you're on the phone?
Yeah, he's been on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
I thought you were listening to the show.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
I thought it was just an email.
So you're, let me get this right, right?
So you're going out with somebody, you've been going out with them for years.
And then when that person, you know, when you have a fight or you do that thing where you break up, you come give me a call.
We go out and then like the next day or two days later, three days later, he calls you up and say, hey, I'm sorry.
I want you back.
Is that kind of how it's going out?
I don't know.
That seems a little reductive.
But, I mean, yeah, sometimes.
I am cool with that.
What?
Oh.
I am so cool with that.
Oh, you are?
Like, before we go any further with this, like, you don't need to explain anything.
I totally get it.
And I have such a great time with you.
Like, if you
just see me here like on the side like for those moments when you're on pause i'm in i think jason
sees a way to hook up with no commitment at all i mean we always have a good time yeah i'm totally
i'm totally in like i'm not even gonna go. Well, let me ask then, Katie, would you like
to, well, not right now, but when you break up
with your boyfriend again, would you like to go out
with Jason on another date? We'll pay for that one.
Yeah.
That sounds like a good idea.
Like, if they're going to pay for it, do you want to break up
with him next week?
Yeah.
Plan for it. Get that pineapple tank top ready. Today. Plan for it.
Get that pineapple tank top ready.
Totally.
Let's go.
All right.
That's a successful, successful first date follow up.
Congratulations, Jason.
You got a date at some point in the future.
Whenever Katie breaks up with her boyfriend again, and then you guys can have fun and
then she can go back to her boyfriend.
Perfect.
