So that's why we created The Big Take from Bloomberg Podcasts, to give you the context you need to make sense of it all. Every day in just 15 minutes, we dive into one global business story that matters.
Starting point is 00:01:21 You'll hear from Bloomberg journalists like Matt Levine. A lot of this meme stock stuff is, I think, embarrassing to the SEC. Follow the Big Take podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen. The Jubal Show on demand. First day follow-up. Is on the phone today for a first day follow-up, and she's not getting a call back from it
Starting point is 00:01:45 What be a be a I don't know the song I'll look for a way to start this because I want now I hear it. But be a, be a is on the phone. And she's not going to call back from a dude named Ryan. And they went to a very, very, very, very classy restaurant for their first date. He obviously dropped a lot of cash, but now he's not calling her back and I don't know why. And we're about to find out. Before we find out about your date, how long has it been since your date?
Starting point is 00:02:24 It's been two months, actually. Oh, wow. Two months. Dang. Okay. Yeah. And how many times have you tried to reach out to him after your date? A bunch of times.
Starting point is 00:02:34 Like, you know, it's now been a couple of months. And yeah, he's not responding at all. And so you're still trying? Yeah. I mean, I'm still trying to reach him because, you know, we had a great connection and I really like him. Okay. Yeah. Where did you meet him?
Starting point is 00:02:49 So we actually met on Instagram in my friend's comments. Oh, okay. We started flirting there and took it to the DMs and, you know, made it a reality. He hasn't responded to you at all? Like he's completely ghosted you since the beginning? Yeah. Okay. Why don't you tell everybody what you did for your date? So we went to Red Lobster. You know, I know it's not the fanciest place, but it's, it's one of my favorites. When I was growing up, if we went to Red Lobster or Sizzler, that was fancy. You were living. Yeah. You knew that. Man, it sounds like you had fun.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Yeah. Such an amazing time. But honestly, though, he's perfect. Like, he's literally my ideal type. Like, we have similar interests in, like, traveling. And, I mean, I would definitely f*** him. I hear that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Do you have an idea of why he might be ghosting you? Well, the only thing I can think of is like, because I suggested Red Lobster. Like I, you know, I said, it's not like the best food, but I loved it. And he didn't. And honestly, I think he might have actually like thrown up. Oh no. For real? Oh no.
Starting point is 00:04:01 What makes you think he threw up? Well, he like, it was so obvious that he didn't like the food. I'm like, but like the rest of the date was so smooth and it was just that one thing and like we actually left the restaurant and hung out at a park so he could like catch his breath. So did he actually throw up?
Starting point is 00:04:18 He did. Yeah. It was kind of gross. So he wasn't just full. He got sick. Like not food poisoning sick, but like, yeah. Did he go home after that or did you guys continue the date? No, we continued the date and he like, he seemed like he was really into me. And he said he wanted to see me again. And okay, don't make fun of me, but like we made out after he threw up.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Ew. That is nasty. Maybe he's not calling you back because you were okay with doing that. I'm really feeling it. That's real love, okay? Did he brush his teeth first? Mouthwash? Mouthwash gum? I'm going to throw up.
Starting point is 00:04:57 There was some time that elapsed before we made out. Oh, man. I don't get grossed out by stuff like that. And to throw up seafood and then make out? Even worse. And by the way, I have that song. get grossed out by stuff like that. And to throw up seafood and then make out? Even worse. And by the way, I have that song. Okay, when you say it like that.
Starting point is 00:05:10 I have that song that we were talking about earlier. So this is the song. Bia, Bia. Bia, Bia. Bia, Bia. Bia, Bia. What? I can't even hear it. Red lobster. All right, so that's your song, Bia. Bia, Bia. What? I can't even hear it. Red lobster.
Starting point is 00:05:27 All right. So that's your song, Bia. I don't know if you know that or not. Okay. So back to the throat. We're listening to this afterwards. Back to the throat make out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:34 It wasn't like directly after he threw up, you know? There was some time in between. Still gross. Stale. Yeah. Stale at that point, though. I'd rather have fresh throat than stale throat. Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Let's move on. Let's move on. Yeah. Stale at that point, though. I'd rather have fresh throw up than stale throw up. Oh. Let's move on. Let's move on. All right. Maybe he's not calling you back because you kissed him after he threw up. Maybe he was that disgusted. We'll find out. We'll find out. We'll play a song and then come back and then call him and get your first date follow up
Starting point is 00:05:58 right after this. Okay? Okay. All right. Thank you. Good luck. We'll see if we can figure it out. Everybody go do something to make their stomachs a little less queasy.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And then we'll be back. Play a song, come back. Your first day follow-up next. It's the Jubal Show. Today's first day follow-up. And if you just joined us, you missed out. Yeah. On something that happened on Bia's first date with a dude named Ryan that we think
Starting point is 00:06:19 might be one of the reasons that she's not getting a call back. But Bia is on the phone and she doesn't know why she's not getting a call back from a guy named ryan that she went on a date with they went to red lobster because it's one of her favorite restaurants she knows it's not the fanciest joint in the world but she wanted to go there they ate a bunch he actually got sick and threw up after and they still made out later on with no toothbrushing in between. So that was the part that grossed everybody out. Cannot.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And Bia doesn't understand why he's not calling her back because she thought the date was amazing. It's been two months actually, and she can't stop thinking about him. So she wants us to call, find out why he's not calling her back and see if we can get her another date. And you really liked this dude. Yeah, I like him a lot. I mean, he was super dope and we had this amazing connection and I really want to figure
Starting point is 00:07:08 out what happened. Okay. Well, let's see if we can figure it out. We're going to call his phone number right now and see if he answers. Here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to ryan please uh yeah this is ryan how are you man this is the jubile show it's a radio show my name is jubile my name is alex i'm christian gray snow uh i don't i don't know what's going on what's happening well it's a radio show it's called the jubile show we do a segment on our show called the first date follow-up That's where if you go out on a date with someone and you end
Starting point is 00:07:48 up not calling them back, they can email us and get you on the phone and find out what happened. And you recently went on a date with one of our listeners and she's confused because you've been ghosting her. Oh, okay. Do you know who we're talking about? I might have an idea. I'll give you a hint, okay? Her name is Bia Bia! Bia Bia! Oh, Bia, okay. It's Bia.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Remember her? Yeah, if I had known that song, I might have used that on my first date. Missed opportunity for sure. Yeah, it is, definitely. Yeah, this is bizarre known that song, I might have used that on my first date. Yeah, missed opportunity for sure. Yeah, it is, definitely. Yeah, this is bizarre. It's been like two months. She told us all about your date, but she also said that it's been two months.
Starting point is 00:08:34 She said that she really liked you a lot, and she's been thinking about you ever since, and she wants to know why you're not calling her back. So would you mind telling us why you're not calling Bia Bia back? Well, truthfully, I was just out of a really bad relationship and it's hard to put in words, but she was almost like too good to be true. It was, it kind of scared me, you know, like it went so well. I mean, I threw up and everything and she didn't, she didn't freak out. She didn't like make fun of me or embarrass me i mean i was really um i don't know it's just it's been so long since i've been in like a real connected relationship
Starting point is 00:09:10 you know it kind of scared me off yeah why would you run from that sounds like a good thing sometimes you know i guess you get afraid of really connecting with somebody after you've been through something where you try to be with somebody and then things don't turn out the way you thought they were going to turn out and it really hurts you so you got hurt in your last relationship like yeah it was pretty bad okay I ran away you know I wasn't really a good move on my part do you want to be in a relationship eventually like a good one you know but truthfully yes I think it's just like i don't know you get scared and then you run away and that's kind of been a pattern right a little bit and it's like
Starting point is 00:09:51 bia was the best thing that happened for a while and i i think sometimes you're scared of things that are good for you you can't run from bia bia right now because she's actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you oh are you serious yeah hi ryan i can't run forever i can't run forever can i no you can't be a found you she ran after you oh my god that that actually that kind of means a lot. Hey Ryan. You tracked me down like this. That's crazy. I mean, in a good way. It was worth it.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Ryan, this is crazy. Like I, I really had no idea that you were feeling the same way I was feeling. It's bonkers to hear you say that. Yeah. I mean, honestly, like I was just so scared and then I ran away, but like having said everything with you hearing it kind of takes a load off my shoulders. You know, I don't think at the time when I met you, I don't think I was ready to like get into like a relationship with somebody, but you know, I've had time to process things and like, you know, you kind of do pop up
Starting point is 00:11:05 in my mind every once in a while. I do feel bad ignoring you. Um, there's something that I regret like pretty frequently. Wow. I mean, it's, it's crazy hearing you say that. Like I was, I was really bummed like that you didn't text me back and honestly I almost like gave up Red Lobster which for me is insane I didn't realize it was no joke um but like but real talk though like Ryan I I'm totally willing to take it one step at a time like there's you know I don't want to rush into this I know what you've been through and I just think this could be something really really great Ryan would you like to go on another date with Bia? We'll pay for it. Oh, yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:11:49 I promise I'm not going to do that. We did it. That's great. Yes. Congratulations. Bia, Bia. You guys are going out again. Congratulations, Bia, Bia. I love it.
Starting point is 00:12:05 And congratulations, Ryan. Thank you. Have fun, guys. Yeah, have fun. We'll check back with you guys and see how everything worked out. And hopefully it goes just as good as you guys think it will go. Maybe there'll be a wedding in your future. Oh.
Starting point is 00:12:18 And then there'll be a kid. And then there'll be another one. Yeah. And then the BR celebration that we come to attend because we put y'all together. Exactly. All right, but for right now let's just have it be a second date.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Don't get too crazy. Like Bia said, one step at a time. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey everyone, it's Katie on demand. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric. Well, the election is in the homestretch
