First date of follow-up, powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys, online at Advocateslaw.com. Taylor is on the show today for a first date follow-up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Jake. So in a few minutes, we'll call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her another date. But first, Taylor, how long has it been since you
Starting point is 00:02:53 talked to Jake? Hi, it's been six days. Oh, okay. That's not terrible. Almost a week. It felt like forever, though, guys. I'm, like, freaking out. I've been freaking out. Yeah. It's the worst feeling. How many times have you tried to reach out to him?
Starting point is 00:03:09 I haven't, like, reached out to him. I'm just waiting to hear back. Did he tell you that he was going to hit you up after the date? Oh, yeah. We had planned for a whole date and everything. Oh. But then after the date, our first date, you know, it's been radio silence. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:28 It's so stupid. It makes me feel so stupid. No, you're not stupid. Yeah, that's not your fault. You know, unfortunately it happens, but we'll see if we can figure out why. We don't know. It's not your fault, but we'll figure it. Tell us about the date.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Well, so we actually met at a mutual friend's birthday party. And just from that, like, that wasn't our first date, but that whole night, I mean, I spent the entire night talking him. I barely even said happy birthday to my friend. But we were just in the kitchen, like, making stupid. good jokes and that kind of led to us talking the entire night and um I just had a really great time with them then and I haven't really felt that in a long time and so we we planned a date and then we got ramen and we walked around a park and it was like exactly like the moment that we met it was just like just I don't know sparks I get I don't it sounds so
Starting point is 00:04:27 Chemistry. No, people have chemistry. It's real. I mean, we were just laughing is the thing. I don't know. It's like, I felt like immediately I could be so silly and stupid with him and everything felt very comfortable and natural right from the start. I don't know. It's like, I mean, he's just really, I mean, he's also very cute. So like that doesn't hurt, you know, but it's not even about like looks or anything. It was just this feeling of comfort and being, silly and I'm such a silly stupid person and I love being silly and stupid
Starting point is 00:05:02 and I feel like so often when I'm talking to guys it's like they're I don't know they're expecting me to be a certain way and I didn't feel like that with Jake at all and he's very funny too and I was one that makes me laugh and I'm just
Starting point is 00:05:17 I was laughing so much I was just laughing the whole time I mean by the end of the first date we already have so many inside jokes and you know when you find that I'm just like, I don't get that often. No, totally. But what do you think could have gone wrong?
Starting point is 00:05:34 Okay. So I do think it is my fault, actually. And I feel like it's the, I mean, I'm a clumsy person, but this is like the worst thing that I've ever done. I think it's very embarrassing. So you know that, you know, when you like check in with your best friend in the middle of the date and you just give them like the, you know, the text, it's like, okay. your vibes are good or whatever or whatever So actually
Starting point is 00:06:03 I I did send that text to him instead You texted him? Oh no What did it say? Let me just read it to you Okay
Starting point is 00:06:15 So he said I said He's cute But if he says Vibes unironically one more time I might combust Oh What kind of is
Starting point is 00:06:26 So are you kind of a joke. It was kind of a joke because it was actually, I was going to tell her later that that was actually like an inside joke between like me and Jake that we were, because we were talking, like, we were being like bros and I don't know, we were just pretending to be bros and doing
Starting point is 00:06:41 all this stuff and so it was kind of a funny thing to me that I was just going to tell her about later and then, yeah, I sent that to him and then reading it back, I'm like, oh, that actually sounds like I actually am making a dig at him or something and that's not at all what it was
Starting point is 00:07:00 oh my god but yeah so I sent that to him what did he say when he got it like did he call you out like did you just send a message or I didn't know I he didn't see it because like I sent it while we were still on the date and so I mean he's such a sweetheart like you didn't even look at his phone the entire date so he didn't even see it until after we had already parted ways and I don't know like the date I did so well we kissed and we yeah we made that plan to meet again and then after the date that's when I saw that I sent that him and stuff. Oh my gosh
Starting point is 00:07:33 I'd be freaking out right now too. Oh no. We'll see if that is the reason. We'll play a song, come back, and then call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you and maybe get you a second date, okay? Okay. Thank you guys. All right. Your first day follow up is next. What's up everybody? This is snacks from the Trap Nerds podcast and we're bringing you the horror
Starting point is 00:07:54 every week all October long. Kicking up this month, I'll be bringing you all my greatest fear-inducing horror games from Resident Evil to Silent Hill, me and Tony bringing back by our team on Left for Dead 2. And we're just going to be going over some of the greats. Also in October, we'll be talking about our favorite
Starting point is 00:08:10 horror and Halloween movie and figure out why black people always got to die first. The umbral reliquary invites any and all fooling, brave enough, to peruse its many curiosities. But take it. All sales are final. Weekly horror side quests written and narrated by yours truly.
Starting point is 00:08:32 With a full episode read and a commentary special. And we will cap it off with horror movie battle royale. Jason versus Freddie. Michael Myers versus the 80th thing with the little tongue muster. October, we're doing it Halloween style. Listen to the Travener's podcast from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, this is Matt Jones.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Now, I'm Drew Franklin. And this is NFL Cover Zero. We're just here to try to give you an NFL perspective a little bit different. Did you see the Colts Pretzel? That was my other big takeaway from that game. What was that? Oh, my. We think NFL coverage should be informative and entertaining.
Starting point is 00:09:10 And twice a week, that is exactly what you're going to get. Listen to NFL Cover Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Toyota, the official automotive partner of the NFL. Visit Toyota.com slash NFL now to learn more. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Apparently, the explosion. The explosion actually impelled metal, glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order, criminal justice system is back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Listen to the new season. of law and order criminal justice system on the iHeart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts right in the middle of your first date follow up and if you're just joining us taylor is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by a guy named jake so we're about to call him and see if they'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date but first taylor why don't you recap your situation for us real quick okay yeah well six days ago i went on a date with a really that I really like a lot and he made me laugh so much which never happens
Starting point is 00:10:57 but during the day I had sent a text that I meant to send to my best friend I accidentally sent that to him and the text may have seemed like a dig at him and it was supposed to be a joke and he wasn't ever supposed to see it I think
Starting point is 00:11:13 that he may have taken it I feel that second hand anxiety for you. Yeah it's real I know we'll see if that is the reason are you ready for us to call him Yeah, yeah All right, here we go Hello
Starting point is 00:11:29 Hello Hi, may I speak to Jake, please? Yeah, this is Jake Jake, hey, how are you doing? This is the Jubal show, it's a radio show What's up Jake? My name's Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. I'm Jubal, how are you? Great, good, good. How are you guys? Good. Do you listen to the show?
Starting point is 00:11:55 I don't. I don't listen. No, not actively. All right. Well, no worries. The reason we're calling you today is because of a segment that we do-do on the show. You said do-do. Sorry about that. Wow. Both of you. Are you serious? You should really listen because that's the high-calibre kind of stuff you get on the show, you know? That was really funny to me. It was funny to me, too. Because do-do, Victoria. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Oh, my God. Jake, I'm sorry. We do a segment on the show. called the first date follow-up. That's where if you go on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, that person can email us and get you on the phone to ask you why you're ghosting. So we got an email about you from somebody.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Yeah. Is that Taylor? Is it Taylor? Yes, it is Taylor. You knew that fast. Yeah. Do you have a few minutes to talk to us about it and tell us why you're ghosting?
Starting point is 00:12:47 100%. Totally. I'd love to. Oh, okay. Hey, now this just makes it even worse. Um, I, she was, she was fantastic. She, no, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, I don't know, I met her not too long ago or at a birthday party. It was just like, you know, we just like,
Starting point is 00:13:03 we just, like, I don't know, I don't know, you meet somebody and it's just like, yeah, this makes sense. Yeah. It's, like, flows really well and it was great. Um, and I mean, she did, she, she, she, she, she she texted me this thing about about vibes and combust in, which I honestly thought it was, I thought it was so funny. Um, I just didn't reply. I, um, it's kind of really stupid. Um, so my roommate got a VR headset,
Starting point is 00:13:32 you know, you put them on, you know, like go into, you can play games and, like, yeah, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Yeah. No, you're crazy, but like, and I've never used it before, so I kind of got like really, really addicted to virtual reality ping pong. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Dope. And I've been going crazy in it. And I stood too close to, to the corner of this wall and fractured my wrist as I was playing. Oh. You fractured your wrist
Starting point is 00:13:59 playing VR. Okay. That's funny. I'm sorry. I shouldn't laugh at that. That hurts. No, it's okay. I mean, it's stupid.
Starting point is 00:14:08 I feel so stupid about it. And now, like, because I fractured it, it hurts to hold my phone. Like, my phone's sitting on my desk right now and I'm just speaking into it. I can't type. I can't text.
Starting point is 00:14:19 I can't play virtual reality ping pong. I can't do it. anything so and okay oh it's just tough so like i've tried to i've tried to verbalize my text you know and like speak them out so that Siri picks them up yeah voice the text yeah vibes are snorting and brahman's destiny and it like it doesn't make sense okay so because you hurt your wrist you can't communicate with people i just kind of feel dumb okay honestly okay that's why you're ghosting a little bit because like I don't know how to it's frustrating when I can't text
Starting point is 00:14:54 and I don't know how to be like hey I haven't talked to you because I broke my wrist playing virtual reality ping pong I didn't even anything Oh well if you guys hit it off like you think you did I don't know that she'd think it was dumb Maybe she thinks it's cute
Starting point is 00:15:09 I guess maybe I didn't really think about that Can I say something? Can I say something? Yes you can Hey Jake that's Taylor She's been on the phone listening Wait, what? Yeah, no doubt.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Taylor? Yeah. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Like, I just, I thought I totally humiliated myself. I've been spiraling for the past six days, but you've got a VR ping pong wrist injury? What? Yeah. That's what this is all about.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Yeah, kind of. I'm so sorry. No, I mean, like, that's so random and adorable, but also, like, it's been six days, and I thought that you hated me. I don't know of him right now. I don't hate you. I literally, I could never hate you. I was, I've been, like, really happy that we met and beating myself up that I feel like I can't just, like,
Starting point is 00:16:13 be an adult and just do the adult thing and tell you I broke my wrist playing ping pong. What hell do you play it like that? VR ping pong. Oh, I don't know. I would play VR ping pong with you, Jake. I'd play that with me.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You know, once you're a field. I mean, I can just swap to my left hand and you can use your right. Okay. You probably shouldn't say you can use your left hand. Otherwise, she's going to get even more mad. You could have texted with your left hand. I can't.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Oh, Jake. I can't. No, I don't know. I'm sorry. Guys, Jake, he's a very cute human. I actually say that at him. Oh, okay. Well, that's cute.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Jake, would you like to go out on another date with Taylor? We'll pay for it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. 100%. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Well, Taylor, congratulations. Yay. Thank you guys. I'm so happy right now. Oh, my God. Me too. You're going to sleep good tonight. Absolutely.
