Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Hello, America's sweetheart Johnny Knoxville here. I want to tell you about my new true crime podcast, Crimeless, Hillbilly Heist, from Smartless Media, campside media, and big money players. It's a wild tale about a gang of high-functioning nitwits who somehow pulled off America's third largest cash heist. Kind of like Robin Hood, except for the part where he's still,
Starting point is 00:00:30 from the rich and gifts to the poor. I'm not that generous. It's a damn near inspiring true story for anyone out there who's ever shot for the moon then just totally muffed up the landing. They stole $17 million that had not bought a ticket
Starting point is 00:00:46 to help him escape. So we're saying like, oh God, what do we do? What do we do? That was dumb. People do not follow my example. Listen to Crimless, Hillbilly Heist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. Two rich young Americans move to the Costa Rican jungle to start over,
Starting point is 00:01:09 but one of them will end up dead and the other tried for murder three times. It starts with a dream, a nature reserve and a spectacular new home. But little by little, they lose it. They actually lose it. They sort of went nuts. Until one night, everything spins out of control. Listen to Hell in Heaven on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Samihante, it's Anna Ortiz. And I'm Mark and Delicado.
Starting point is 00:01:44 You might know us as Hilda and Justin from Ugly Betty. Welcome to our new podcast, Viva Betty! We're re-watching the series from start to finish and getting into all the fashions, the drama, and the behind-the-scenes, moments that you've never heard before. But you were still bartending? I didn't know that. The bar back is like, is that you? And it's a commercial for Betty.
Starting point is 00:02:08 And I was like, I quit. I quit. Listen to Viva Betty on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome to Decoding Women's Health. I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Atria Health Health Institute in New York City. I'll be talking to top researchers and clinicians. and bringing vital information about midlife women's health directly to you.
Starting point is 00:02:33 A hundred percent of women go through menopause. Even if it's natural, why should we suffer through it? Listen to Decoding Women's Health with Dr. Elizabeth Pointer on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. First date of follow-up, powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys, online at Advocateslaw.com. Byron is on the phone today for a first-date follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Taylor. So in a few minutes, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But first, Byron, how long has it been since you talked to Taylor? Yes, she's been ghosting me for like eight days.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Oh. Not like you're counting or anything. Well, I tell you, it's hard not to. I really liked hanging out with her. I'm sorry, that sucks. How did you guys leave it at the end of the date? At the end of the date, it all was cool. You know, we got a light kiss. Nothing too crazy, but it really It seemed like things are going to go well and move forward. Okay. Well, tell us about the date then. So we went out and, because she's got this whole, like, we met at a fall festival thing, right?
Starting point is 00:03:43 And so she had this whole autumn aesthetic, you know, the messy buns, got the cinnamon latte, all that stuff. And I really liked her energy. So I was kind of thinking, ooh, let's do something fall themed. You know, she was playful, seemed spontaneous, and a little flirty. So I was like, oh, you know what? Why don't we go apple picking? It's going to be perfect for this time of year. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I've never gone on it for a date, too. But she said that she likes doing stuff that feels like a movie scene. So I'm like, ooh, perfect. I can be your leading man, right? So we, you know, we go to the place. We're having a good time, you know. We took a bunch of pictures. but where I think things probably went wrong.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Later on, I'm starting to, I climb a tree, right, because I see this apple. I'm like, ooh, this apple's going to be perfect for her. So I climb up there to grab it, the branch I'm sitting on cracks, I fall, and I broke my wrist. Oh. I realized it was broken the next day, right?
Starting point is 00:04:47 Because I toughed it out throughout the whole rest of the date, but I was like, oh, this is bad. This is bad. You know, but I played it off. I played it cool. Are you okay? Did you get a cast? Did you go to the doctor?
Starting point is 00:04:59 I mean, the fucking wrist is bad. Yeah, the next day I did go and they put me in a cast. You know, not a big one. It was just my wrist, but, you know, we kind of laughed it off when I did get hurt. Yeah, but, you know, my hoodie was covered in dirt, so I looked stupid. It ended up being a mess. I really felt like we could still move forward, you know. Sure.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Okay. and how did it go after that? After that, you know, ultimately it was a cute recovery. We had great vibe. You know, we even did, like I said, a little kiss at the end of the night. But now my text has been unanswered. Does she act a little different, like, at any point in the night?
Starting point is 00:05:43 Or she just seemed the same? Well, she was definitely shook and she was definitely shaken up, you know, when I fell. She was, oh, my God, are you okay? And I said, I'm good. I'm good. I'm fine. I'm fine. You know, I can handle it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Okay. You know, but so I think she was like worried, you know, worried, but not like grossed out. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Maybe she just thought you were like one of those clumsy types and doesn't want to deal with it. Oh. See, I hope not, because I'm really not.
Starting point is 00:06:10 It was a one-time thing. Well, what do you think the reason is that she's ghosting you then? I don't know. The only thing I can think is that there were people around when I fell. Uh-huh. So it was probably embarrassing to be with the guy that just fell out of the tree. I would think that would be awesome. Be like, yeah, I'm with the guy that fell out of the tree, everybody.
Starting point is 00:06:35 All right, well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you. We'll play a song, come back, and call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get you a second date if you still want one, okay? All right, thank you. Yeah, we'll get your first day follow up next. In the new podcast, Hell in Heaven, two young Americans moved to the Costa Rican jungle to start over. But one will end up dead. The other tried for murder.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Not once. People went wild. Not twice. Stunned. But three times. John and Anne Bender are rich and attractive, and they're devoted to each other. They create a nature reserve and build. a spectacular, circular home, high on the top of a hill.
Starting point is 00:07:26 But little by little, their dream starts to crumble, and our couple retreat from reality. They lose it. They actually lose it. They sort of went nuts. Until one night, everything spins out of control. Listen to Hell in Heaven on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Decoding Women's Health.
Starting point is 00:07:55 I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pointer, chair of Women's Health and Gynecology at the Atria Health Institute in New York City. On this show, I'll be talking to top researchers and top clinicians, asking them your burning questions and bringing that information about women's health and midlife directly to you. A hundred percent of women go through menopause. It can be such a struggle for our quality of life, but even if it's natural, why should we suffer through it? The types of symptoms that people talk about is forgetting everything, I never used to forget things. They're concerned that, one, they have dementia, and the other one is, do I have ADHD? There is unprecedented promise with regard to cannabis and cannabinoids, to sleep better, to have less pain, to have better mood, and also to have better day-to-day life. Listen to Decoding Women's Health with Dr. Elizabeth Pointer on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you're listening now.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Hey guys, it's Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero, and this is more better. We are jumping right in and ready to hear from you. Your thoughts, your questions, your feelings about socks with sandals. And we're ready to share some possibly questionable advice and hot takes. God, that sucks so hard though. I'm so sorry. Can you out petty them? Can you match their pettiness for funsies?
Starting point is 00:09:13 Yeah. We had so much fun last season, laughing, crying, talking to some new and old friends. Remember when we were in that scene where you, you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing. Oh, yeah. And I was like, can I also hug them? I'm like, this f*** has no friends. This time around, we are, say it, Melissa.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Should I? Say it. Getting a little more better. Oh, finally. It's all the dressing room talk you loved in season one. All the things. Because aren't we all trying to get a little more better? Listen to more better on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
Starting point is 00:09:51 your podcasts. Brennamillo, your first date follow-up, and if you're just joining us, Byron is on the phone and Byron is getting ghosted by Taylor, so we're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But before we do that, Byron, break down your date again for us real quick. So we went apple picking, had a great time, but I fell out of the tree trying to get the perfect apple. I'm thinking that might have been too embarrassing for her.
Starting point is 00:10:21 He did break your wrist, so that must have been some fall. I did, but I will, again, I found out that I broke my wrist the next day, because I played it off cool, and I mean, I acted like it wasn't bad bad. Are you ready for us to call her? Yes, please. All right, here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Taylor, please? Hi, this is Taylor, who is this?
Starting point is 00:10:57 Taylor, how are you? This is a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Taylor. I'm Nina. I'm Victoria. Wait, is this? This is on the radio?
Starting point is 00:11:05 No, no, no, I did not sign up for radio today. What's happening? Yeah, you didn't necessarily sign up for it, but we did get an email about you from... About me? Mm-hmm. From one of our listeners. Okay. Tell me more.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Well, we do a segment on the show that's called the first date follow-up. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and end up ghosting them, they can ask us to get you on the phone and find out why you're ghosting them. So it's somebody that you're ghosting. Okay, so it's like a detective work kind of thing. Is that right? Kind of, yeah. So we're doing a little detective work to see if you can tell us why you're ghosting somebody.
Starting point is 00:11:46 It's, I think, a mediator. Okay. All right. Can you give me more, maybe a little bit? Who do you think it is? Are you ghosting somebody? I mean, sort of, I guess, kind of. Yeah, I mean, sort of, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Okay. Well, do you want to tell us their name and we'll tell you if that's the person that email us? Okay. Okay, it's this guy Byron. We went on a date recently and it was mostly fun, but then some weird stuff. kind of happened and I was just it was a little okay I don't know how to like say this exactly but he has this like toxic masculinity thing happening so that's kind of what's up if that makes
Starting point is 00:12:35 sense we talked you know we talked about your date didn't hit me as a toxicly masculine dude I guess that's how you would say it but like why do you say that so did he tell you like about the date or what happened a little bit a little bit yeah okay Okay, so we were apple picking, which is like a really cute date, and we were having a good time, but it was like, I think he was trying to maybe show off for me or something, and he, like, climbed into this tree to get an apple, and then he fell, it was, like, a pretty bad fall. He was pretty high up, and it was, like, he fell. It was, like, cartoon sound effects level fall, you know, like, boing, like, all this stuff. And I went over to help him, and he kept, like, waving me away and saying stuff like, I'm a man, I can handle it. I'm a man. Oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Like, it was a bad ball. It was like a five-foot drop. Hey, Taylor, that's Byron. He's actually on the phone and wants to talk to you. Byron? Byron, are you on this call? So he's there, too? Yeah, he's here, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Okay. I mean, because it wasn't even. really that bad, you know? Byron, Byron, you landed, okay, do you remember what you said? You landed on your back and you said, pain is weakness leaving the body. Okay, seriously? I mean, I know I said that, but in my defense, I thought it kind of sounded cool.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And I didn't want to look stupid in front of the orchard guy. Like, the dude had a beard and an axe and like, I could not look soft. Okay, but you couldn't even hold cider. Like, you couldn't hold the cider in your hand because it was so messed up. And I kept trying to ask you if you needed ice or something, and you kept saying stuff about real men like you were listening to a podcast. Real men don't need ice. I'm like, come on.
Starting point is 00:14:38 I mean, because, yeah, it was kind of a pride injury, you know. Yeah, you can still get ice for your wrist that's messed up. Hey, wait a minute, okay, so you ghosted me because I didn't want you to see me cry over my wrist? Yeah, I mean, it was bad. Is it? Are you okay? Seriously? I mean, it's just, I mean, it's just a broken wrist.
Starting point is 00:15:04 I'll be fine. It's broken? Byron, you broke your wrist? Byron, I knew it was bad. Okay. What? That's crazy. And you would not let me get you ice or take.
Starting point is 00:15:18 you to the doctor I only look I'm gonna be fine I mean I only need the cast for like six weeks and you said you like confident guys okay I like yes I do I like confident guys I don't like delusional guys I knew you were hurt you like you wouldn't let me get you ice you wouldn't let me help you at all like I wasn't trying to ask you I wasn't asking you like will you marry me I was like, do you want ice? Like, those are two different questions. And it was crazy. Byron.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Well, I'm sorry. There's nothing sexy about saying, oh, can somebody get me an ice pack? Like. Okay. Well, let me tell you this. There is something sexy about being vulnerable and knowing when you need help. Right? Like, you don't need to pretend that you're fine.
Starting point is 00:16:13 That's not attractive. like pretending that things are okay when they're not. You can, oh, yeah. If you guys complain about a girl saying, oh, it's fine, it's fine. You're doing the same thing. Okay. Maybe I overdid it. I still looked good climbing that tree, though.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Okay. Did he look good climbing the tree? I mean, maybe, but then he's, until he was, like, screaming, I'm fine and, like, rolling around, falling down. hey gravity just couldn't handle me all right couldn't handle all my energy you know what I mean Byron you're still doing it
Starting point is 00:16:54 you're still doing it you can't come on you can't blame me you are the type of woman a man would fall for oh there's a vulnerability well actually there's more of a line Byron get a little bit more vulnerable
Starting point is 00:17:10 I cried at the hospital Oh, there you go. Would you like another date with Byron? We'll pay for it. I mean, that was pretty, you know, he really let us in right there until what was going on. Maybe he needs you, you know, to help loosen him up. Okay. I'm not saying you have to cry on the date, but just don't pretend everything's okay.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And maybe stay out of trees and no quotes from gym posters. podcasts, okay? Okay, deal. I'll just fall for you, but from ground level. Joubles' first date follow-up. Hello, America's sweetheart Johnny Knoxville here.
