First aid follow-up is on the phone today for a first day follow-up and she's not getting a call back from a dude she went out with named paul paul paul that's exactly how his name is callie thank you for emailing the show sorry you're not getting a call back from
Starting point is 00:01:57 paul but um tell us what's going on okay well here's the story story. Met Paul at a barbecue for like a house party and he happens to live there. I didn't know him. So you just went with friends or something? Yeah, I went with friends and just happened to be at his house and that's how we met. And like that day, we ended up just like spending all of our time together. We like talked for hours. We ended up like making out a little bit. Fireworks, huh? That sounds like a home run party to me. our time together. We like talked for hours. We ended up like making out a little bit. It was fireworks,
Starting point is 00:02:28 huh? That sounds like a home run party to me. Yeah, that sounds like an awesome time. That's unexpected. Yeah. Yeah, it was nice, you know, and now I'm getting nothing. I want to know what happened. Yeah, I mean, that's really weird that you'd
Starting point is 00:02:44 meet him same day, hang out that much. You'd make out. And then now he's not calling you back at all. That's weird. Yeah. What did you do? How long has it been since you talked to him? It's only been like a couple of days.
Starting point is 00:02:53 But yeah, I mean, he told me like, hey, send me your info on Insta. And I DM him and he saw it and he hasn't responded to it or, you know, even texted me or anything. I know he saw it. And it's also weird because, like, we have mutual friends. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's weird to go somewhere where you have mutual friends because they can talk, you know? Like, even if you weren't interested, to not be like, oh, hey, girl, nice meeting you, you know, something. Yeah, like to let you down easy so it's not awkward in the friend group.
Starting point is 00:03:20 What do you think happened then? Why do you think he's not calling you back? I don't know. It just really felt like we vibed. I felt like we just talked for like four hours solid. I don't know. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe it's like, whoa, she talks way too much.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I think too, when you have mutual friends, it's like, God, it's already like so much weight lifted because you're like, no, I don't have to introduce you to my friends. You don't have to introduce me to yours. And like if he had genital herpes, somebody would know and tell me. Or they could be like my ex where he actually told me on two different occasions, two of his friends had herpes because he was scared that I was going to leave him for them or something. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Hey, yeah, that guy's cool. He's my friend. But also, don't ever mess around with him if you ever think about messing around with someone other than me because totally herped up. Like, what the heck? Good luck. But you're right, though. If you meet somebody that you're interested in and you have mutual friends, it is cool because you can get the dirt on them, right?
Starting point is 00:04:09 Like, you'll find out things that you would normally maybe find out three months into dating when you're like, holy crap. That's true. Like, I had no idea that they have a third eye growing out of their stomach. What? That's weird. Hot, but weird, right? Yeah, really hot.
Starting point is 00:04:24 You might know that early, right? It is sexy. It's really weird. Everybody likes an eyeball in the stomach Hot, but weird, right? Yeah, really hot. You might know that early, right? It is sexier. Everybody likes an eyeball in the stomach. We know that, right? Okay. Yeah, it's like a built-in safety net. Have you guys ever dated anybody in your friend group? Like you were friends before you started dating or mutual friends like in the same group before you started dating them?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Not me. Not for a long time, but I did go on this date with this one guy who I apparently went to high school with and was on the basketball team with his sister and I didn't know. Oh, wow. And he knew a lot about me. And really? Because of her? Well, because he just remembered me. Oh, okay. And I'm like, I had no clue who he was. That's kind of flattering, kind of creepy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And he took me to sushi and I don't like sushi. And so I just choked it down. It was so bad. I'm not even kidding. I had a California roll. You guys, like, that's like the most basic. like don't even don't don't judge me but like i was having such a hard time chewing and swallowing it that i had to wash it down with water you know like you have food in your mouth he had no idea to like turn my head on take a drink of water and like choke it down you guys oh my god i went on a date with someone who was in with my friends group one time we were mutual friends and then we decided to actually try to go out on a date i always thought they were cool as a friend and then we went on a date with someone who was in my friends group one time. We were mutual friends. And then we decided to actually try to go out on a date.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I always thought they were cool as a friend. And then we went on a date and I was like, wow, they are terrible. We'll see if we can figure out why Paul's not calling you back and see if we can get you another date. We'll play a song, come back and get your first day follow up next. A little bit of first day follow up. If you're just joining us, Callie is on the phone and she's not getting a call back from a dude named Paul. No call from Paul. No call from Paul. That's what Callie's dealing with. Oh, us, Callie is on the phone and she's not getting a call back from a dude named Paul. No call from Paul. No call from Paul.
Starting point is 00:05:47 That's what Callie's dealing with. So sorry, Callie. They actually met at his house. He was having a party. They have mutual friends. It was his house. They ended up talking for a while, hanging out pretty much all day.
Starting point is 00:05:55 They even made out and then he just stopped talking to her after she left. She's even messaged him on Instagram and saw that he saw the messages but hasn't responded. So she's wondering what she did and why he won't talk to her. Messed up, bro. So we're about to call his number right now. See if we can get him on Instagram and saw that he saw the messages but hasn't responded. So she's wondering what she did and why he won't talk to her.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Messed up, bro. So we're about to call his number right now. See if we can get him on the phone and then find out why he's not calling Kelly back and then see if we can get Kelly another date if she wants it. Here we go. Let's get it. Hello? Let's just get right to it. Hey, Paul, what's up? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
Starting point is 00:06:29 This is Alex from The Jubal Show. It's a radio show called The Jubal Show. What's up? This is Paul, right? Yeah, speaking. Paul, you sound kind of confused. Is this confusing to you? I am.
Starting point is 00:06:40 This is definitely not where I thought today was going to go. Well, that'll happen, especially when you go somebody and then they email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened. Literally. Yeah. This is a first day follow up. If you don't know what that is, that's where if you go somebody, they can email us, get you on the phone so that we can ask why.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And you recently hung out with a girl named Callie at your house at a party you were having. Callie, like not like California. Yeah. Like Callie, like. Like Callie. Yeah. I have. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Okay. She left an impression. Oh, yeah. Okay. She left an impression. Oh, really? I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. There's good impressions and bad impressions. Yeah, what kind of impression is this? Yeah, why aren't you calling her back? So, yeah, so she told you we met.
Starting point is 00:07:18 She met at my place. We had like a bash. She came over. She knew some people that were there. Right. She told us all that, that you met there. What did you think of her? We hit it off
Starting point is 00:07:27 and then, you know, party was going on and she left in kind of a rush. Uh-oh. What? Well, I hope nothing happened.
Starting point is 00:07:36 She didn't tell us that really. Well, I hope she wasn't rushing home to her boyfriend. Yeah. She definitely didn't tell us that. So she left in a rush? Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:43 All of a sudden, she was just like, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go and was like out the door. Maybe she had to go to the bathroom really bad. Mm-hmm. And didn't want to do. So she left in a rush? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All of a sudden, she was just like, gotta go, gotta go, gotta go, and was like out the door. Maybe she had to go to the bathroom really bad. Mm-hmm. And didn't want to do it there. Doubtful. What did you do when that happened?
Starting point is 00:07:53 I was like, that's weird, but, you know, I figured we'd connect again, whatever. Like, she gave you her number and stuff before she left, right? Yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah. We were, yeah. And, you know, we traded, like, Instagram handles and yeah yeah yeah we were yeah um and you know we we traded like instagram handles and stuff so we were following each other it's no big deal but um but the thing is is like not too long after she left uh one of my roommates came in and said uh that somebody clogged the toilet so it was it did have to do with that i guess not that she had to go why is she
Starting point is 00:08:26 yeah who cares uh yeah that it was like a mess um so you know no but how do you know it was her yeah well look i'm i'm not i'm not definitively saying it was her, but I'm saying that putting the pieces together, it seems pretty obvious that she was out the door because she made an impact before she left. Oh my God. And you're not calling her back because of that? How many times have you clogged a toilet? Literally. Probably a lot. It stinks. Yeah. And so that's the reason you're not calling her back because of that? How many times have you clogged a toilet? Literally. Probably a lot. It'll stink. Yeah. And so that's the reason you're not calling her back, though, because of that?
Starting point is 00:09:09 I mean, look, I know it sounds petty, but this was not just your run-of-the-mill clog, right? We ended up having to call a plumber out. It cost us $300. Whoa. Okay. Are you serious? Do you live in a 1900 house? Right. Did she shove a body down there?
Starting point is 00:09:27 What the hell is going on? I don't know what she ate or drank that day, but she destroyed that toilet. Oh, come on. Well, it was your food because you guys were having the barbecue at your house. Yeah. You kind of did it to yourself. Jeez. I mean, maybe, but like we got three toilets in the house and nobody else had those kind of problems, you know?
Starting point is 00:09:49 You have a bunch of mutual friends, right? Like, you're not telling all them that she clogged the toilet, are you? No, no, no, no, of course not. I'm not a monster, right? Like, I mean, I guess now I'm saying it on the radio, so maybe I'm kind of a monster. But like, I didn't call her out at the party. I was just like, oh, that sucks. You know, not only are you saying it on the radio,
Starting point is 00:10:09 you're actually saying it to Callie, because Callie's on the phone right now listening and wants to talk to you. Callie, say hi to Paul. That is so f***ed up, Paul. This is embarrassing. Why would you? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:10:22 There she is. Seriously? Look, I'm not the one who calls you and puts you on the radio. Like, this is kind of on you. He does kind of have a point. But, like, everybody poops and everybody has clogged the toilet. Come on. Okay, but if I thought that was why you weren't getting back to me,
Starting point is 00:10:38 obviously I wouldn't have called the radio. Obviously. Obviously. I don't know how you didn't think that was how, why I wasn't getting back to you, right? You ran out the door and you knew you made a mess and you knew you were going to be embarrassed about it.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I don't know what you thought was going to happen. You thought I was just going to be like, oh, that's weird that she ran away and someone clogged the toilet. Yeah, I mean, usually the culprit of that kind of thing, you know exactly who it is because they're the person that leaves right after the toilet gets clogged the toilet like yeah i mean usually the culprit of that kind of thing you know exactly who it is because they're the person that leaves right after the toilet gets clogged come on callie did you clog the toilet i don't know i was drunk i don't i don't know this is embarrassing i don't know i'm sorry you don't have to be that embarrassed by it i mean it
Starting point is 00:11:19 really is embarrassing but just not a reason to not call her back though and plus like you're the one who served her the food paul and like honestly that like doesn't usually happen to me like it was because of the food at your barbecue so like i don't know what the hell you put in that food to make me but like it's kind of on you a little bit dude she does kind of turn it around real quick no no no no no it's not on me it's not on me because no one else had that problem. It's not like every toilet was plugged. Oh, I do. I do.
Starting point is 00:11:49 We had to have a plumber come out and unplug that toilet. I know. Oh, my God. It's crazy. Oh, my God is what I said when I had to try to plunge that messy lefty behind, too. All right. Well, this is the perfect point for me to ask. Paul, would you like to go on another date with Callie?
Starting point is 00:12:08 We'll pay for it. What do you say, Paul? Look, I got a hard pass on that. I've seen too much, and I can't come back from it. Callie, I'm so sorry, hon. Sorry, Callie. Yeah, I'm assuming you probably just want to be done with this phone call at this point.
Starting point is 00:12:24 No second date for you. Sorry. Yeah, I'm assuming you probably just want to be done with this phone call at this point. No second date for you. Sorry. Um, yeah, I can't get off this call fast enough. What a nightmare. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric.
