The new hits, 106.1, First Date Follow-Up. Every once in a while, we get an email in for a First Date Follow-Up, and I read the description of the date, and I'm like, man, that sounds horrible. Why? But most people would probably like it.

I just am not a very outdoorsy guy. Yeah. And Vanessa, who's on the phone for a first date follow-up today, said she went on a fishing date. Oh, that sounds cool. Fishing with a guy named Ricky. Yeah, you're not a fishing type of guy, Jubal. I am not a fishing type of guy.

I'm a catching type of guy. It super annoys me anytime I've been fishing and I catch a fish and they're like, well, you're going to throw it back. Catch and release. No. I sat here for 17 hours. Yeah, no. I'm going to take that home and I'm going to cook it.

I don't care if it's a little minnow. No, don't kill it. I'm taking it home. But Vanessa is on the phone and she went fishing with Ricky. That sounds like a TV show. What's up, Vanessa? How are you? Hi, I'm okay. How are you? Not too bad. So

you're not getting a call back before we get into fishing with Ricky. How long has it been since you talked to Ricky? It's been a week and a half. It's like long. That's long after a first date. That is long. Yeah, I feel like I got ghosted here. I don't know. You did. Definitely sounds like it.

Has he responded at all since your date? No. I mean, I just wrote like I had a good time and he wrote thanks or something inconsequential and then I just never heard back from him. You were definitely being ghosted. Okay, so then have you reached

out to him after that? Yeah, I texted him like three times and literally like nothing. Nothing at all. All right, maybe he's fishing and doesn't have reception, you know, because fishing can take a long time and you said you guys were fishing. So he might be somewhere with no reception for months waiting on that perfect catch. That's very hopeful. I doubt that's it.

Yeah, well, okay, So where did you guys meet? We met at our kids' baseball game, actually. Oh, that's cool. We were just talking during the game for a while, watching our kids play, and he asked me about growing up, and I mentioned

that I used to go fishing with my dad every year before he passed away, and that I really miss it. But yeah, I thought he was so sweet. I really liked him. The fact that he took me fishing based off of that conversation, and he set up a whole cute romantic picnic.

That is cool. How was the actual date though? I thought it went great. That's why I'm so confused. I really liked him he was really sweet and I just like I can't figure out

what happened did he catch anything else on the trip besides you no we did not have a lot of luck with our fishing line maybe he doesn't like you because you're not

a good angler terrible that's a fishing term that I don't really know what it means why do you think he's not calling you back then Angler. Terrible. That's a fishing term that I don't really know what it means. Why do you think he's not calling you back then? Honestly, I have no idea.

I can't figure out what happened. How'd you guys end things? He drove me home and, you know, we gave like a cute, like peck on the cheek, you know, first date. And then that was it. I thought, I don't know. I thought it went great. It was very pleasant.

Okay. Okay. Real quick. What if he has like a wife or a girlfriend or something? Like you guys met at a kid's, you guys' kid's baseball game. Oh yeah. So what if he's a player? Oh. Well, I mean, he did mention his ex, but because he said ex, so I mean, I don't know.

I don't think he's dating anyone else right now that I know about. I mentioned his ex on the first date as well. That means he's thinking about her. Oh, my God. No, they're probably talking about it. Probably talking about their exes because they have kids on the same baseball game. Yeah, if they have kids, it's pretty standard. It's pretty easy to get in conversations.

If you're spending time talking about an ex on a date and you don't have kids, bad thing. If you have kids, it kind of makes sense most of the time. Yeah. I mean, it's your kid's parent, right? So it's like they come up in conversation. Right. Right. Totally.

Okay. Well, we will play a song and then come back and call him and see if we can find out why he's not calling you back then. Okay? Okay. Thank you. Yep. All right.

That's better than fishing with Ricky. Vanessa is on the phone and she isn't getting a call back from a dude she went on a date with.

His name's Ricky and they went fishing. That's why the whole fishing with Ricky thing. But now I think we should start a new show called Fishing with the Fish Sticks. With the fresh sticks. The fresh sticks. I like it. That's good. And Vanessa met Ricky during their kid's baseball game.

They bonded. She brought up the fact that she used to go fishing with her dad and she really misses doing that. So Ricky, being the nice guy that he is, planned a little fishing date because that's what Ricky's always doing, fishing. Vanessa, does Ricky do anything but watch his kid's baseball game and fish? I mean, he has a job. They went fishing.

Vanessa said they had a great time, and she doesn't know why he's ghosted her, but he's not calling her back, and she has no idea why. So we're about to get him on the phone and see if we can figure it out. You ready? Yeah. All right, here we go. We're about to call Fish and Ricky. I'm excited.

I've never met a celebrity before. Hello, this is Ricky. Fish and Ricky? I don't know if I'm Fish and Ricky, but my name's Ricky. Who is this? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. And we are excited to meet you, Fish and Ricky. Oh, good to meet you too, I guess. Have you ever heard the show before? Yes, yes. Oh, you have? Awesome. Well, this is the first time I've heard of Fish and with Ricky, so I'm really not sure what you're talking about. Well, I'll tell you what we're talking about.

We're talking about the date that you had with Vanessa. Okay, so she emailed you guys or something? Yes, she did. She emailed us. She told us how you guys went fishing, said she had a great time, also said that she's tried to get a hold of you since your date and you have not responded to anything. So it's like fishing Ricky. Why? Well, I mean, I was kind of hoping to talk, maybe catch up with her in private at the next game. But, you know, over the radio is fine.

Talking about the little league game. She said that you guys met at your kids' baseball game. Yeah. Yeah. Our boys play little league and we often just sit in the bleachers and catch up and talk while we're watching our kids play. Okay. So you were going to actually talk to her though.

You had planned on talking to her? Yeah. I was just going to have a conversation about it, but I mean... What's the reason that you're not calling her back? Well, like, so me and my ex-wife, we are really good at co-parenting. While we split up relatively amicable, at the end of the day, you know, my son didn't ask for that, you know, so the two of us try to go a long life just living separately, but still being friendly and communicating. Okay, so what happened? Why aren't you calling her back?

Because a few times while we were while we were out, my wife, my ex-wife had my son and, uh, I got a couple of text messages from my ex-wife just updating me about what they were doing. And, you know, my son did something annoying and she just, your son's in trouble. And I took this away from him, took his skateboard or something silly like that. And, um, it just kind of went back and forth. But then all of a sudden, like right after that, she started making like jokes about my baby's mama and stuff.

And like it felt like she was she was suddenly intimidated. So Vanessa, who you went on the date with, I'm getting confused because you're talking about the ex-wife. No, I'm not confused. I know. But now I got it. Now I got it. Vanessa was making comments about your ex-wife and you thought that maybe she was intimidated by her. Correct. So then you decided to ghost her though for that reason? I'm not going to text her back just for the sole fact that I'm too busy for that kind of nonsense, that kind of animosity.

Like she didn't even take the time to ask me these questions about my son and my relationship with my ex-wife. She just got into being too much and just threatened by it. I just don't need that right now. Nobody needs it. Fish and Ricky doesn't need that in his life. Fish and Ricky ain't got time for that. Fish and Ricky ain't got time for Vanessa

being jealous of your ex-wife and your guys' relationship for co-parenting? It seemed more than jealousy. It seemed actually like she was threatened by... Gotcha. If she was threatened because she didn't tell us that when we talked to her

and she's on the phone listening right now and wants to talk to you. Yeah, you forgot about that part. Oh, well, I'm... Hi. Yeah, I'm here. That's funny. Hi, Vanessa. How are funny. Hi, Vanessa.

How are you? Well, yeah, I mean, I don't think I was really acting that way. But, you know, if you don't want to go out again, I guess that's your loss. You called her my baby mama. And after she texted me like, no, it wasn't even her text. It was my buddy's text. And you thought it was hers. And you said, do I need to cut a bitch

oh my god that sounds like jealousy to me I was joking she was joking no come on I mean obviously I'm not going to actually hurt anyone like can you see how that kind of sounds like a jealous comment

or just comments especially on a first date i guess i mean like i don't know maybe we just don't have the same sense of humor right right so are you typically like a jealous person in a relationship like to be honest like no no not at all okay not at all you just think that relationships with exes are just always bad i just thought it would be funny because she kept texting all the time so I was like wait do I need to you know do something about this like it's like a joke it wasn't that bad I only made like one comment max one wait a minute so you just said that you felt like I was talking to her

the entire time but you only made one comment come on now yeah three texts you said something like four times um called him said do i have to cut a bitch you rolled your eyes and got all huffy at one point when one message came through like well look like she's texting you the whole time i'm on a date with you i put my phone away because i'm a polite person you should not have been texting your ex unless it was an emergency with your son right Right. Yeah. Well, at the end of the day, anything about anything about my son coming through from my ex, she knew where I was. She knew what I was doing because I told her everything. I told her what I was doing. She only texted me because she needed to give me the information. No, she was only texting you because she knew that you were out with another girl.

That's why she was texting you. Come on. Vanessa, Vanessa, I've told you this already. She's remarried. She doesn't care. And he's like loaded as well. So that's what's just mind boggling to me. Oh, and now you're thinking about her.

Whenever you bring her up, you talk about how much money her new man makes. So obviously it makes you feel a little insecure. It's all you think about, I guess. She wants to be with him now and not with you. Fish and Ricky, would you like to go on another date with Vanessa? We will pay for it. That's a perfect time to ask. Yeehaw. I'd rather throw myself headfirst into
