First Date Follow-Up. first date follow-up there's always that moment on a first date that's like exciting and very intense but also everything could go horribly wrong i'm talking about the first kiss you know when you go in for the first kiss and you're like okay how's this gonna be is it gonna be good is it gonna be bad like i typically do 40% tongue. Is she going to
Starting point is 00:02:05 do 60% tongue? Like you don't want to use the wrong percentage of tongue at the wrong time. Awkward. Yeah. If you wrong tongue somebody, you might never get a second date. You don't want to get wrong tongued or you don't want to wrong tongue somebody. And apparently Leslie, who's on the phone today for a first date follow-up got wrong tongue. that right leslie you got wrong tongue on your first date oh i know everything you just said is so true all right by the way thank you for having me on i'm a really big fan of the show so this is this is really exciting for me yeah yeah i appreciate it i'm sorry to hear about the horrible tongue incident um we'll get to that we'll get to that
Starting point is 00:02:41 in just a second um but first i want to learn a little bit about who you want to call today. So what's her name? Her name's Rachel. Rachel. All right. And how did you guys meet? We actually met through work over Zoom, which was a nice surprise. I met her on a team meeting.
Starting point is 00:02:56 And I wasn't expecting that at all, of course. But she looked great there on camera. I thought she was so beautiful. And I kept thinking about her. So I figured, hey, why not? I'm just going to hit her up on camera. I thought she was so beautiful. And I kept thinking about her. So I figured, hey, why not? I'm just going to hit her up on Facebook. I know it's not the most professional thing to do, but I figured, let me take a shot. And I did. And we started chatting there. That's risky. So when you guys were having this meeting and you met her, did you guys talk at all? Yeah. I mean, we were just doing our job back and forth with the team.
Starting point is 00:03:26 But I kind of felt like maybe I was looking at where her eyes were and i thought she might be looking at me too it's always hard to tell yeah it is i thought yeah but you were definitely staring at her little box right not staring at myself right uh okay so leslie obviously you and rachel are girls did you like have like a lesbian radar going off when she was on the Zoom call? Yeah, I think we both, I know I have that. And we kind of chatted a little bit about that when we actually met up. Yeah, for sure. I thought you were checking out.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I thought you were, like, trying to direct a lot of your questions at me. So, yeah, it's like a little sixth sense thing, I think. Did you guys, like, did you know right away that she was interested? Or, like, that's a big risk if it's a company thing and you're, like, Did you know right away that she was interested? It's a big risk if it's a company thing and you're hitting her up later to ask her out. Yeah. I was a little bit nervous because I'm thinking, okay, she's a new hire. I don't want to have any issues at work or get fired or have her get fired or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:04:22 So I was a little on edge about that. But once we met up, that all just left my mind because the chemistry was really, really there. And she was just so easy to talk to. She's a super cool chick. What did you guys do? We actually just went and, you know, because of the social distancing, we're like, let's just go down and have a little picnic in the park. So you said you hit her up on Facebook. How long did it take her to reply to you?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Right. I'm always like, does anyone even check these messages anymore? I thought she read it and then she responded like a couple minutes after that. Oh, wow. That's quick. That's quick. Yeah. I was glad she read it and saw it. I really didn't know how else to get in communication with her.
Starting point is 00:04:59 So that's why I walked out. I love how it's always better in person. Like expectations, you see someone online and then they're better in person. I'm like, that's great. For some reason, I really like went in excited and hopeful. And yeah, it exceeded my expectations. Not usually what happens. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Why don't you think Rachel has been contacting you back? Like what do you think went wrong on the first day? Or it was like there anything awkward at all? Yeah, everything was really nice up until the end. And there was an awkward moment that happened. Oh, yeah, that's right. We didn't get to the wrong tongue yet. Because your email in said that the kiss was really bad, which is confusing to me.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Because I'm like, why do you want to call back someone if the kiss was bad? But tell us about it. Like, did you forget to take your mask off or something? We took it off. Yeah, I'm hoping it wasn't the kiss of death, but it was just one of those where we both went in and it was sort of like a peck. And I think we just both got super nervous and in our heads. And it was just really, really bad.
Starting point is 00:05:57 It was over quick. We didn't know where to put our hands or where to turn our head. It was almost like we were back in seventh grade or something. So awkward. Yeah, so we're driving home, and I'm just staring straight ahead, but music's not even on, and it's just dead silent. And I'm like, I better say something right now. So I'm like, you know, that test was really awkward, wasn't it?
Starting point is 00:06:21 And she's like, yeah, it was really awkward for me, too. That's not great. Yeah, that's not good if your date's like, yeah, it was really awkward for me too. That's not great. Yeah, that's not good if your date's like, yeah. That's pretty normal though, I feel like. Yeah, I think that's the only thing that could have happened that would make her maybe not want to see me again. But because I did acknowledge it and said like, yeah, we should try that again sometime.
Starting point is 00:06:38 She's like, yeah, text me soon. And now I haven't heard from her at all. She actually said to reach out to her. Yeah, I tried twice. I didn't want to be like too much, but I waited like 24 hours, texted her again and heard nothing back. Okay, and have you seen her at work
Starting point is 00:06:53 like on your Zoom meetings and stuff still? No, I haven't, but we do have one coming up pretty soon. I don't know if she's going to be on the line. First date follow-up. All right, if you're just joining us for today's first date follow-up, Leslie is on the phone,
Starting point is 00:07:07 and Leslie met the girl that she wants to call today at work. And they had a horrible, terrible kiss on their first date. And now she's not getting a call back. She said that she met Rachel over a Zoom meeting. She was like a new hire, asked her out, took the risk. They went out to the park, because that's pretty much all you can do right now is just go outside. Had a picnic.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Leslie also said that everything was fantastic. They had great conversation, great chemistry. But the only thing that she can think of that went wrong was the kiss. The tongue. The tongue. She got wrong-tongued. They had a really bad kiss before she had to drive Rachel home. And then they drove the whole way home in silence, I guess, before she dropped Rachel off.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And it was so bad that Leslie actually looked over at Rachel and said, that was a terrible kiss, huh? And then Rachel was like, yeah, that was the worst kiss I've ever had. Did she say worst kiss she's ever had, Leslie? Or am I adding that? I mean, she might have been thinking that. She didn't say it. Okay, all right.
Starting point is 00:08:02 I don't know if I was speaking for her or if she, you know, anyway. Rachel did say that she wants to try the kiss again and that leslie should text her but now since the date leslie hasn't heard anything from her uh they haven't had any meetings together yet but they do have one coming up so she's just really confused all right we're gonna get rachel on the phone and find out what went wrong anything else you want to say before we call her leslie no i mean the only thing is I just hope this leads to me getting a second date with Rachel. I'm really into her. I want to see her again. All right, well, hold on. I'm gonna call her right now, okay? Okay. Okay, here we go. Hello? Hi, is this Rachel? Yeah. Rachel, who is a bad kisser? Who is this? I should probably get to that before I talk about the kissing thing, huh? That's weird. This is Jubal from
Starting point is 00:08:53 the Jubal show. How are you? Okay. How can I help you? We're just calling people today, surveying how their last kiss was. How would you rate the last kiss you had? Do I have to participate in this? No, you don't. So was that good, huh? I mean, if you really want to know, it was not that great, but it happens, right? Yeah. Yeah, it does.
Starting point is 00:09:20 The real reason I'm calling you is on this show, we do a segment called the first date follow-up. Do you know what that is? No, I don't know what that is. It's a segment where if you go out on a date with somebody and then they end up not calling you back, they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened. Oh, okay. Okay. So now that I brought up the bad kiss thing and you know what this segment is about, do you have any idea who is wondering why you're not calling them back is this about leslie yes it is about leslie yeah congratulations by the way everybody's here alex is here evan is here oh wow hey guys hey guys i know you have no idea who any of us are
Starting point is 00:09:58 but i just wanted to in case you hear a lot of voices uh it's the entire show. Yeah. So why aren't you calling Leslie back? Well, this is like super weird and it's my private life. So do I really have to divulge these details to you? I mean, you don't have to. It'd be nice if you would because then the segment's over and we don't have anything else to do the rest of this hour. So I would appreciate it. Am I getting paid or something? Nope.
Starting point is 00:10:27 No, yeah, no. This is coronavirus times. We don't have the kind of money to do that. We're barely getting paid to do this. No, I mean, do you mind sharing with us just a little bit about your date with Leslie? What do you want to know? Leslie told us about how you guys met at work over Zoom.
Starting point is 00:10:42 She asked you out. You guys went to the park. She did tell us that you shared a very, very awkward kiss that was so bad that you guys actually had to call attention to it. Okay. I mean, I feel like really awkward saying this, but you guys promised not to like tell her what I'm about to say. Whatever it is, if it's bad, it sounds like it's bad, right?
Starting point is 00:11:02 So if it's bad, we'll at least sugarcoat it for you. I just don't want her to get offended. Actually, you know what? I don't care if she gets offended because I'm offended. Okay. Offended? Offended by what? I feel like she's a flesbian.
Starting point is 00:11:16 What's a flesbian? It means you're a fake lesbian. Like you actually don't like girls? So when we were on the date, she was telling me she's never dated a girl before and she's like hating on guys and I feel like it's just like a phase. Oh, okay. Like, you know, you're not really into girls. And Rachel, you're like a full on OG lesbian.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Yeah, I'm an OG lesbian. All right. Dope. That makes sense. I've known a few girls who... Dabbled? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Who had never dabbled before. Yeah, I mean, she just, like, was talking about how much she hates guys and her ex-boyfriend and all this stuff. And so I was just like, clearly, she's just going through a phase and she just wants to do this right now because of, like, whatever. Okay. Well, how about we just ask her? Yeah, let's ask her.
Starting point is 00:12:04 No, I'm good. That's okay. Are you sure? Are you sure, Rachel? Because Leslie's actually on the other line right now listening and wants to talk to you. What? Leslie, are you still there? Yeah, I'm here. Guys, I trusted you. That was dumb. Yeah. Leslie? Yeah. I heard every single thing you said Rachel hi okay hi sorry um sorry but not really sorry oh first of all never heard this term lesbian but I can't believe that you think that's what I am because I am not a lesbian I'm the one of the biggest lesbians that you will ever meet you can ask anyone well only only if lesbian would say that. You make that word up.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I've never heard that before. If you are a real lesbian, you would know this word. Oh, damn. Trust me, I'm a real lesbian. I have never heard that word before. And maybe you're a lesbian. Oh, my gosh. OK, I'm not going to have an argument with you, especially over the phone.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I mean, I've I've dealt with this for forever i mean this is my lifestyle and i don't need people like you who've been to one pride parade just trying to jump on the lesbian bandwagon i've been to like at least two or three oh two or three leslie wow leslie for real for real leslie are you just trying lesbianism on for size right now i don't know if that's a word, are you just trying lesbianism on for size right now? I don't know if that's a word, but are you just trying to... Not at all. I feel like she may be like just have a lot of issues with girls in the past. And she's kind of just making up these stories as she goes about me.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I don't know where she's getting all this information from. But it's, again, I'm far from a lesbian. I feel like love is love. I'm going to be with a person regardless of what their gender is It's just about who they are That is called bisexual And you are not a lesbian That is a very good point
Starting point is 00:13:52 Okay how about this Rachel Give me one more chance and I can prove to you how much of a lesbian I am Hold on one second Let me ask Rachel then If you're already there Hey Rachel would you like to go out with Leslie On a second date? We will pay for it.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Hey, you know what, Leslie? If you're going to put yourself out there, you know, if you're going to talk the talk, then you better walk the walk. So I'll go out with you again, but I am going to put you to the test. I like the challenge. I'm intrigued. So, Rachel, you're going to go out with Leslie. You will go out with Leslie again.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And then what's the test? Can we say what the test is on the radio? I guess we're just going to have to find out. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric.
