you get your podcasts. First date follow-up. All I'm going to say about today's first date follow-up before we get into it is that Jennifer,
who's on the phone because she's not getting a call back from a guy named Regis, got quite
the workout on her first date.
Oh.
Yeah.
I know what you're saying.
Based on the email she sent her first date with this dude included hot, sweaty, heavy
breathing action.
That sounds fun.
I bet it did.
And I hope you used protection, Jennifer.
Did you use protection
on your date?
I don't understand
what you mean.
You went on a bike ride with the dude, so
I was just hoping you wore a helmet and knee pads
or whatever.
I don't know what you guys were thinking.
I was thinking something, you know, that I'm sure
Alex was thinking. I don't know, probably
doing some... I mean, I was a little thrown off know, that I'm sure Alex was thinking. I don't know. Probably doing some.
I mean, I was a little thrown off, but I get it now.
Yeah.
No, I was talking about bike riding.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Riding something.
I don't think that happened though on your date, Jennifer, the other thing, right?
No, that didn't happen, but we did really hit it off.
Like I had an amazing time.
Yeah.
That's what your email said.
And you said you guys went on a bike ride, but now he's not calling you back.
Why don't you tell us a little bit about the date, first of all?
Yeah, so we're actually both in a Facebook, like, bike riding, like, not team, but, like, group.
And so, you know, we usually, we always just meet up and we ride bikes.
And we've always really hit it off.
And we kind of veered off together and we actually
went um on a coffee date on one of our bike rides that sounds fun oh that's cool yeah yeah it was
really nice we had a great time like and he was not like any of the other guys i've ever dated
like he was very uh he was paying attention to everything i was saying like i felt like he was
listening to me he was funny like everything was really well. I had an amazing time with him.
Right.
So you had your eye on this guy for a while then it sounds like.
So yeah, no, I never really noticed him before.
But he asked me out and I definitely was like, why not?
He was a cute guy.
You know, let's see where this goes.
He even had a rose for me that he bought for me in his book bag.
Yeah, it was really sweet.
At first I was like a facebook
bicycle group i mean i like but then i thought about it jubile and i are married yes and we
went to la i don't know like a year and a half ago and on a sunday night we just so happened to
be on those motorized scooters that you can find down by the beach you know rent and all of a sudden
there's like hundreds of bicycles.
That's like a group and they have like cool lights on them and music.
And it's like a club.
And so we just like started riding along with them.
So Alex and I are thinking about joining a bicycle club.
So Jennifer, maybe we'll be the next people to ride with you guys.
Sorry to judge.
Yeah, you should.
It's a good time.
You get a workout, you meet new people and you might even meet, you know, someone cool to date and like I thought I did but I don't know he hasn't been calling me back.
He brought you a rose and you said that he was different than most guys you've dated because he
listened to you? Yeah because you know most guys you go out with you can tell that they're just
waiting for you to finish the talk they're. He doesn't really feel like the conversation is genuine, you know,
but I really felt like he was paying attention to what I was saying and
really listening to me. I felt very heard.
What did you say?
I haven't, I said, I felt very heard.
Sorry, that was a bad joke.
No, it was a great joke. You got her actually. That's cool. I mean,
that's awesome. So how did the date end?
So we just, we didn't kiss.
We didn't do anything like that.
We didn't get intimate or anything.
We just kind of texted.
Like we said, good night.
And then the next couple of days we were texting.
And then after that, he just stopped responding.
No calls, no texts, nothing.
Do you think that he's not calling you back
because he doesn't like your brand of bike?
Like he's a bike snob?
Oh, bike people can be snobs.
I don't think so.
He did, I mean, he did mention something about the bike, but it was, it was just like, you
know, conversation.
We're just talking about what we like, what we don't like.
And how many times have you tried to reach out to him?
Um, a couple of times.
I mean, I texted him twice and I called him,
but I just tried to reach him
like three times.
So nothing like too, too crazy.
Yeah, you don't want to seem desperate,
but that sounds okay.
And then like how long has it been
since you've texted him?
It's been like five days, actually.
Five days, okay.
I really want to know.
I really liked him.
I really was interested
in getting to know him more
and going on another date.
Well, hopefully we can help you out.
Yeah. We'll play a song, come back, and then
call him and see if we can figure it out, okay?
Okay. Sounds good. Thank you, guys.
No problem. Alright, we'll do it next. It's the Jubal Show.
In the middle of today's first date follow-up, and if you missed the
first part, Jennifer's on the phone, and she wants to call
a dude named Regis because he's not calling her
back after they went on a bicycle ride
on a bicycle built for two. They didn't do that. They had their own bikes. They belong to a Facebook
group for bike riders, I guess. And they actually met there, but they went on a bike ride and went
and got coffee. And she said that he was awesome. Even brought a rose with him. Wow. He was a rare
dude in her opinion, because he actually listened to the things that she said, which I,
knowing most guys that I've known, that is pretty rare. Very.
He actually seemed interested.
She seemed,
Jennifer,
you seem really into this guy,
right?
I am.
I really am.
It was so nice.
And we had such a good time.
And like I said,
the main thing for me was how I felt heard,
how I felt like he listened to everything I said,
and we were having a real conversation and his answers were meaningful.
And I really wanted to get to know him more.
Yeah, yeah, and he was just attentive to you, which...
Yeah, exactly.
That is important.
It is. It's super important.
Well, we're about to call him, get him on the phone,
and find out why he's not calling you back,
because he didn't give you a reason at all,
and nothing awkward happened that you can think of, right?
Nothing that I could think of. He just kind of sort of disappeared.
Okay, well, I'm going to dial this phone right now
and see if we can figure it out.
Here we go.
Hello?
Hi, can I speak to Regis, please?
Yeah, this is Regis.
Matt was calling.
Yes, you may, Regis.
Very polite.
That was super polite of you.
You're a polite guy, Regis.
I mean, that's how I say it.
I feel like people are like, who's this? Yeah, a lot of people are. Aren't they like that, Regis? A lot of people are just like, yeah, who's this? Thank you for being polite of you. You're a polite guy, Regis. I mean, that's how I say it. I feel like people are like, who's this?
Yeah, a lot of people are.
Aren't they like that, Regis?
A lot of people are just like, yeah, who's this?
Thank you for being polite, man.
I appreciate that.
No, no, not a problem.
Because I'm looking at the phone like, I don't know who this is.
I'm like, hello?
Regis, this is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
I'm here with my hottest wife, Alex Friash.
That's me.
And English Evan.
Hello.
Yeah.
Hi, guys.
I don't really know y'all, but like, how can I help y'all this morning?
So you don't know what The Jubal Show is?
No, I don't.
I'm sorry for letting you down.
That's fine.
Well, that's me.
You're not the first person.
No, check it out.
Yeah, check it out.
The Jubal Show on Instagram. Yes. Check it out. At the Jubal Show on Instagram.
Yes, check it out at the Jubal Show on Instagram.
It's a radio show, and it's called the Jubal Show.
Well, I know you now, so hey.
Well, you should get to know us better.
Go follow us on Instagram.
It's at the Jubal Show.
Yeah, he is nice and attentive.
Look at that.
I feel like you actually care.
I feel like you actually care, Regis.
I feel like he does, too.
I think Alex really wants some new followers.
No, I'm just making a joke. It's fine.
It's stupid.
Can I tell y'all what my mother always told me?
She told me that God gives you
two ears and one mouth
for a reason. So listen more than you talk.
So I try to live
every day of my life with that approach.
Well, I know and I've heard that about you that you're a good listener.
I've heard a lot about you.
You heard a lot about me? How?
I'm calling you today because we do a segment on our show where if you go out with someone
on a date and then not call them back, they can email us to figure out what happened.
And the reason that I know that you're a good listener and that you're a nice guy, other
than just talking to you right now, because you're a sweetheart, I can tell.
You're a stand-up dude.
He has a good laugh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You have a nice laugh too, man.
Thanks. Appreciate laugh. Yeah, you have a nice laugh too, man. Thanks, appreciate it.
We got an email from a girl named Jennifer
and you guys went out on a date
and now you're not calling her back
so she emailed us to see if we could get you on the phone
and figure out what happened.
Oh, right.
Now the call is bad, yeah.
His voice just went down.
So, do you have time to tell us why you don't want to talk to Jennifer?
I do have time, but I am pretty nervous.
I'm not.
I'm like sweating on the inside.
I'm not going to lie.
What are you nervous to tell us?
I mean, Jennifer was awesome, you know,
and I really don't have no negative things to say about it.
Oh, my gosh.
You guys are both saying the same thing.
So why are you not calling her back?
To be honest, man, it just wouldn't work.
It wouldn't work with Jennifer?
Why?
I believe, man, she is way out my league, man.
What?
Oh.
Like, Vince McMahon voice, no chance in hell.
No chance in hell, but you went out on a date with her.
Yeah.
And she's texting you and you're ignoring her.
And she emailed a couple weirdos on a radio show to call you and ask why you're not getting back to her.
So, if she's out of your league, why would you not pursue her?
I just don't feel confident.
I really feel like you know like she
gets attention all the time you know because we in a facebook group and then like she's like
one of the most popular people outside the admins so like you know so like i see guys go at her in
the comments and then we meet up you know i was surprised i even had a single bike ride. A lot of guys go at her, though,
but she was the one that was on a date with you.
Yeah.
And is texting you.
Yeah.
Wondering why you're not calling her back.
Exactly.
Yeah, man.
I think she's way out of my league,
and she could definitely get a date any day of the week.
And I just don't think I really had a chance
to really even be with her.
So you just didn't, like, want to waste your time? Yeah, I feel like, yeah, I don't think I really had a chance to really even be with her. So you just didn't want to waste your time?
Yeah, I feel like, yeah,
I don't want to waste her time.
Her time.
He just cares about her.
Oh, dang.
The most selfless guy ever.
I can hear, yeah, your confidence is not good.
Also, I'll tell Jennifer something
when we bring her on the phone here in a second
because she's actually on the line listening.
Jennifer, are you there?
What? Yeah. Yeah, i'm here yes hey regis you guys like both like love each other and you're like nope yeah regis i can't believe like that's what you're saying
i had a great time i i'm into you what do you mean like let's be completely honest so look at look at you and
then look at me like you know like i don't i don't think you want to be with a guy like me
like you can get anybody in the world yeah but you could also look at that the other way we just
you could be like she could have anybody in the world and she chose she chose me yeah exactly and
don't get me wrong i'm not gonna call myself call myself ugly. I know I'm attractive, but
I'm not a
vain person. That would never
make me not want to date you.
I had such a good time.
She obviously liked your personality. Also,
I'm going to tell you something, Regis. Are you still there?
Yeah, I'm here, man.
I'm just listening. I'm taking everything in.
Let me school you some game real
quick when it comes to being an average dude okay from the jubilees yes all right alex and i are married
right alex way out of my league i have puggish good looks what i call i look like a little pug
so i know i'm kind of cute in that way but i got a personality also average dudes are way better to
date than hot dudes and you know why why? Because we have to work for it
They don't care they don't listen they don't treat women with the respect they deserve average news are like
Thank you so much for being here. I will rub your feet any moment of the day. It doesn't matter and it's the truth
Obviously I can't relate cuz I'm stunning but yeah, I'm sure it's hard for the average dude
Yeah, and that's one of the things that Jennifer said about you you you're one of the first guys she went out with that seemed attentive
and attentive goes way longer than abs
in my opinion
literally like that was
the number one thing that I loved about you
was how you made me feel
so special just by listening to me
and you're handsome don't get me wrong
like I think you're hot
but stop it
really you really mean that I, I think you're hot. Like, but stop it.
Really?
You really mean that?
I thought I lost you after the rose.
No, not at all.
Like, why would I say that?
Why would I be going through all of this?
You know?
Wow, man.
Well, I appreciate it.
I really do.
Okay, so does that mean you'll go out with her again?
Regis, would you like to go out on another date with Jennifer?
We will pay for it.
Yes, I would love to go on another date with Jennifer.
Yay!
We did it. I'm really nervous.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe y'all did this.
Regis, you should be nervous. She's way out of your league now.
What are you doing? Well, you sound like you're a lot of fun.
At least we all know that.
Stop it.
Hey, Jennifer,
next time we go out, you're going to see a
whole new, different, confident Reg we go out, you're going to see a whole new different confident Regis, guaranteed.
Awesome. Let's do it.
Now he's going to stop listening to her.
The Jubal Show is building confidence.
