The email that we got for today's First Date Follow-Up is from a dude named Rowan. And it started off by saying, I wish I didn't get so sweaty. So, don't know really what all that means.

We'll find out in a second, I guess, because Rowan is on the phone with us. What's up, Rowan? How are you? I'm doing well. Are you sweaty right now? Oh, well, a little bit. I'm a really hairy guy, so I tend to sweat sometimes. I've always been curious with sweaty people.

Do you carry around like an extra shirt, or do you use a lot of deodorant, which is the or do you use a lot of deodorant which is the option i use a lot of deodorant okay hey rowan since you say you're a sweaty dude who puts on a lot of deodorant have you ever tried to use the natural stuff the natural stuff yeah natural deodorants like crystals and things like that you ever try that i have not used those natural crystal items maybe i should try no. They're terrible. They make you smell worse. I don't know what it is. I smelled so bad. It doesn't work. Yeah. Tell us about your date, though. How did you meet her? Well, we met on Tinder. We matched up. I thought she was really, really cute girl. Her name's Bailey. And we had some good conversation back and forth. And I was really kind of nervous, a little excited because I hadn't seen anyone face-to-face since quarantine. We went out, we had some drinks. Okay.

And it was a nice day and I thought we had some good chemistry going back and forth. I don't know, maybe I was a little nervous, but I thought we had a really good time. Well, you said it's been a while since you've been out on a date and you were nervous. Did it feel awkward to you? Yeah, I mean, I felt a little awkward. I don't know if she could tell. It's been a while since we've been out, but we kind of joked about the pandemic a little bit. She had a nice designer mask on, so that was kind of cute and it broke the ice.

But I thought she had a good time. Yeah, first dates are pretty awkward. I don't know. I mean, we both seem to bond over our childhood love of soccer, actually. She said that she'd been playing since she was a little girl, and I was playing since I was a kid. That's cool. And, yeah, she's a really big Messi fan. Wow.

Messi. If somebody doesn't know who Lionel Messi is, Lionel, Lionel? I don't know, actually. Anyway, his last name's Messi. He's a player. Because if somebody doesn't know, there's like a Messi fan. What does that mean? She's like sloppy drunk when she goes to see soccer or something.

But did you challenge her to a game of soccer and then demolish her? And that's why she's not calling you back? No, I think actually she could beat me. Oh, wow. Turn me on, actually. Wow, very humble of you. Did you say that would turn you on? I mean, if she's a good soccer player, I will blink on her.

Okay. Okay. All right. Were you this kind of, did you give off that kind of vibe when she was talking about soccer? I mean. Yeah, because just then it got weird. It did. Yeah.

I don't think I was cheesy with her. I was just making a joke, but maybe she took it the wrong way. I don't know. So you did make a joke about getting turned on with her talking about soccer? I joked that I'd love to play with her. Oh, all right. There was a silence in the room. Yeah. Okay. So how did the date end? Well, I mean, we're kind of in the middle of a quarantine here, so we tried to, we still kept our distance. So it was kind of

no touching no don't get too close because we just met each other but um i still felt good about it you don't need a kiss to have a date to end up well okay and so what now she's not getting back to you did you like organize a second date i said at the end i thought yeah let's meet up again and then talk but it's just kind of radio silence. Okay. And other than maybe the unfortunate soccer joke that you made, is there anything else you can think of that might've gone wrong? I don't know. Maybe I came off a little shy or awkward, but I mean, I do sweat a lot.

So maybe she noticed that my pits were kind of. Oh, that's right. So you're pitting out. I'm a hairy guy. I tend to sweat. I mean, hairy guys, every guy's hairy. Yeah. Under the armpits.

Do you shave your armpit hair? I do not. I shave mine. I shave mine, too. I have laser hair removal. Real bold. No, I don't shave any of my hair. Okay.

Okay. All right. Well, maybe it was the sweat maybe it was the conversation about soccer I don't know but we will try to figure it out for you

He said he hadn't been out in a while, so they decided to meet up. And according to Rowan, everything went great. They even bonded talking about soccer, which he's a big fan of like a real big fan of because he said what was the joke that you made to her

Rowan that you feel like might have made things take a turn for the worse? I said I'd like to play with you and there was kind of an awkward silence and I clarified by saying soccer. Yeah right. Okay so that was the first thing

that you think might have gone wrong. And then also, apparently, Rowan said he was really sweaty on the date because he's a hairy dude. A little bit nervous. Yeah, he was nervous, so he might have been

pitting out his shirt. Might have been or was. I mean, I think I probably was a little bit. Well, I mean, it happens to the best of us, so don't worry. All right, well, we'll dial our phone number right now and see if we can figure it out for you, okay?

This is kind of weird actually Well we do a segment on the show Where if you go out on a date with someone And end up not calling them back They can email us to get you on the phone And find out what happened Have you heard that before? Yeah

Do you know who we're calling you about? Yeah you're probably talking about Rowan. Yes. Yes, we are. We are talking about Rowan. He's also a pretty interesting character. That he is. Well, tell us how was your date, first of all.

Did you enjoy going out with him? I don't want to be mean on the radio, but so I get that people can be nervous. I get that. And I was a little nervous to go on my first date since COVID started. Okay. He said he was nervous too, by the way. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, he was clearly like sweating a lot throughout the date and I didn't hold that against him, but then he just got really weird. Huh. Okay. So how, what do you mean by that? Well, um, we, we figured out throughout the date that we were both really into soccer. Um, he said that that was a big plus for him that you were into soccer. Uh, yeah. Not only was it a big plus for him, but it clearly sort of turned him on. Oh, that's weird. Yeah. And then he made this really stupid joke about wanting to play with me. Uh-huh. Right.

He, uh, to his credit, he did tell us that he made that joke. Cause we, you know, we talked to him about the date and he said he was nervous. He said that he made a joke about soccer that he could tell by your reaction probably didn't hit like he wanted to. Yeah. And then it just got even creepier. He sort of lowered his voice and he's like, so tell me about the best play you ever had. And it was very weird. That is. Yeah. Right. So he's a creep.

Well, that's actually not the creepiest thing that he did. It's not? Okay. What else did he do? He tweeted something and it said that even if someone doesn't look like their picture on Tinder in person, you can still have a good time with them. Oh, wow. So he ripped you on Twitter after all that.

Wow. Right. Yeah. And when he talked about you, he didn't tell us that. He just said that he liked you a lot. He thought that you, it was super hot that you were playing soccer. And he did say he was sweaty. Yeah.

He's just, he's kind of creepy. And that was just it for me. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Can I say something now? What was that? Oh, Bailey. You're supposed to wait, Rowan. That was Rowan.

He's actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you. Oh, really? Yes, he is. That's how you respond to talking to another human being. Wow, you seem like a real peach. What was that tweet for? You took it as I thought you were ugly or something. I did not say that at all.

You pretty much called her ugly before you said that you liked her. Yeah. Yeah, how am I supposed to take that? All I said was that you didn't look like your picture, but apparently you're the type of person that just goes to the negative. You said even if they don't look like their picture,

you can still have fun with them. How is that supposed to be positive? I don't know why, but I want to punch you in the face. Me too. I'd like to see you try that. Neither of you have a black belt in Krav Maga. I'd like to beat the crap out of both of you. Wow.
