Starting point is 00:01:20 So that's why we created The Big Take from Bloomberg Podcasts, to give you the context you need to make sense of it all. Every day in just 15 minutes, we dive into one global business story that matters. You'll hear from Bloomberg journalists like Matt Levine. A lot of this meme stock stuff is, I think, embarrassing to the SEC. Follow The Big Take Podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen. The Jubal Show on demand. First day follow-up. I am really excited about today's first day follow-up. Yeah. Okay. On the phone right now is Bianca. Bianca, how are you? I'm good. How
Starting point is 00:01:59 are you guys doing? Not too bad. Thank you. Like I said, I'm excited. We're glad that we can help you out. Yeah. So who do you want us to call today? What's her name? Her name is Susanna. And I met her while I was on a run. I'm a runner. And I really kind of been my therapeutic moments these days. And so I went on my daily run and I saw this woman who is stretching and I was like, wow. You're like, wow, look at those legs. Yeah. You almost break your neck running by, almost trip over your own feet. It takes a lot for me to actually, you know, kind of like move away from what I'm doing and stop.
Starting point is 00:02:42 I actually stopped running. I walked over there and I'm telling you, I was like so nervous and I just started talking to her with the intent. Like, I didn't know if she was for my team, the other team, I didn't care. Yeah. Women don't care. They just hit on women just hoping. Yeah. Well, you guys are a lot more confident than men. You really are. It's true. Typically, I'm like, may the best woman win. But somehow that day I saw this beautiful woman and I had to go over and step to her and start talking to her.
Starting point is 00:03:16 So question for you, how does that work? Because I know as a dude approaching a woman, especially if you see them at the gym or they're stretching or something like that, like I'd feel super creepy walking over and be like, hey, you are Bindi. Nice to meet you. What did you say? I mean, it's just like what a guy would do.
Starting point is 00:03:36 You know, I had a conversation with her about, you know, I hadn't seen her before. So that was my first thing. Like, do you run the lake much? And obviously there was an interest on my end. I hadn't seen her before, so that was my first thing. Do you run the lake much? Obviously, there was an interest on my end, and when I stepped to her and asked that question, she immediately responded with,
Starting point is 00:03:57 I'm not a straight girl, and I think you're cute too. Nice. Wow. And then did you guys end up going on a date, or did you guys go out right then and there? How did it work? Oh, my God. So I asked her for her number and we immediately started texting and we actually wanted to just meet up and do there's a spot near my house where you can do you know a two-person sit down and have
Starting point is 00:04:17 drinks and so we decided that we were going to go and like have drinks and we met up. Uh, we just have a lot in common. And aside from running, she's just a really beautiful woman and she's smart. Um, she comes from the same town that I come from. She has the same passion. Um,
Starting point is 00:04:38 she's super sexy. Okay. Did you guys, uh, how did the date end? We made out and it was clear that the energy was there, and it was real nice. It was really nice. Well, so there is a reason that she's not calling you back.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I think that there might be another woman involved. There must be another woman involved. Why do you say must be? Is that because she's, like, super good looking, or? Or just because she's not calling you back. She must have a girlfriend. Yeah, I mean, I think that's what a lot of people would like to think when they're ghosted. Like, it can't be me.
Starting point is 00:05:06 It's got to be. Like, they got to be in a relationship if they still want to or something. All right, well, we'll play a song, come back, and then call her and get your first date follow-up right after this, all right? Okay, thanks, guys. Yep.
Starting point is 00:05:17 In the middle of your first date follow-up, and it's nice to know that women can be just as cocky as dudes when it comes to relationships and getting blown off. We've got Bianca on the phone right now. And Bianca met a girl named Susanna while she was out on a run. They just kind of struck it up, started talking. She asked her out.
Starting point is 00:05:35 They agreed to go out. They went out to dinner, had a great time. But now she's not getting a call back. And the only reason that Bianca can think of that she's not getting a call back is Susanna clearly has to have a girlfriend. Clearly. No other reason at all. There's no other reason not to call Bianca back, right? Nope.
Starting point is 00:05:53 No reason at all. All right. Here we go. I'm going to dial her phone number right now. Do you have anything else you want to say before I do that? No, I'm ready. Okay. Hopefully we can get you another date.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Susanna, please? Yeah, this is her. Hey, Susanna, how are you? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. I'm sorry, who is this? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
Starting point is 00:06:19 It's a radio program, a radio show on the radio waves. Okay. All right. What is this about? I'm calling you today because... You won a million dollars. What? Are you kidding?
Starting point is 00:06:32 No way. No. Ma'am. You did not. We're going to get a lawsuit now. Yeah. No, you did not win a million dollars, but somebody did email us about you, and that's why we're calling.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Okay. You got my attention. Who emailed you about me? Well, we do a segment on the show called the First Date Follow-Up. It's where if you go out with somebody and then end up ghosting them after, they can email us to get you on the phone
Starting point is 00:06:55 and figure out what happened. And you went out on a date recently with a woman named Bianca. Okay, yeah, I totally remember Bianca. Okay. I mean, it was fun. I had a good time with Bianca. Okay. Yeah. I totally remember Bianca. Okay. I mean, it was fun. I had a good time with Bianca. Okay. Yeah. She said everything was great. She said she had a really good time and she's honestly surprised that you just kind of dropped off the face of the earth. I don't know if I would
Starting point is 00:07:15 say dropped off the face of the earth, but you stopped texting her though, right? I mean, yeah, I did stop texting her. Okay. Yeah. She wants to know why. Well, first off, we met at a park, okay? And it's kind of like, it's a place where people go to, like, work out, go for a run. Yeah, that's what she said. She said she noticed you stretching and just had to say something. She said you had great legs. I was wearing my best leggings that day. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Well, no, I was really interested in her when she came out. You know, she had this confidence about her. It's just, I mean, it definitely was attractive. And, you know, she shot her shot, went out. The thing is, during our date, she just kept like, I don't know if she was sizing me up or i'm sure hey we talked to her we talked to her and i know she was sizing you up for what yeah i just feel like the whole time she was like judging my fitness level she was like making me do jumping jacks and like lunges okay and it wasn't like a date where you guys were working out. She stopped you somewhere and had you do this? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:27 So like in the parking lot on the way to dinner, she had me doing lunges. Lunges? Yeah. I had like jean shorts and sandals on. I was not prepared to be working out during our date. Yeah. That's weird. So was she lunging with you?
Starting point is 00:08:43 Yeah. She was lunging with me, but I feel like she kept correcting my form. What? I wasn't doing it right. Oh, those are the worst. That's weird. So, like, why did she make you do all these lunges and exercises? No, I feel like she was sizing me up, for real.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And then, to top it off, when we got inside to order, she, like, ordered a side of veggies for me. I wasn't allowed to have french fries. Oh, wow. Oh, my. Okay, yeah, that's a french fries. Oh, wow. That's a red flag. So she's making you work out and then making sure you eat a certain way. Trying to see how good your cardiovascular is.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Yeah, a little controlling. Just sounds a little bit controlling to me. To top it off, that wasn't even the worst part. When we left dinner, she asked me if I wanted to run sprints around the parking lot. What? You go on a date with a high school part. When we left dinner, she asked me if I wanted to run sprints around the parking lot. You go on a date with a high school PE coach?
Starting point is 00:09:31 I picture her with a whistle around her neck and a stopwatch and weird shorts that don't have a belt on them that they always wear. Also running on a full stomach. She must be a CrossFitter. That's what it is. She's a vegan. That's why she had you eating vegetables.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Oh, vegan. That makes sense too. She's a vegan crossfitter. Oh no. We're putting it together. I'm so sorry. I'm surprised her name's not Karen. Oh my God. I mean, she is into crossfit and she definitely didn't order a steak. Oh my God. No.
Starting point is 00:10:01 You've confirmed. That explains it. It is kind of weird to make you do that. She was hot, but that's not what I want to do on my date. No, thank you. I don't want to work out. No. And that's what happens when you go on a date with a vegan CrossFitter. Nope, I say that from Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Susanna, thank you for being honest with us and telling us what happened on your date and why you're not calling Bianca back. Oh, of course. Thank you guys for reaching out. No problem. Now, I have to be honest with you and let you know happened on your day and why you're not calling Bianca back. Oh, of course. Thank you guys for reaching out. No problem. Now, I have to be honest with you and let you know that Bianca is actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you. Oh, no. She's probably doing squat thrusts right now.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yes. No, I'm not laughing either. Susanna, I thought we were playfully doing that. I thought it was like something kind of, you know, it was hot. It was like I was turning you on when you were stretching. Yeah, it was hot outside for sure. But no, I'm not laughing, guys. Okay, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So you're actually, it sounds to me though, first of all, you guys say hi to each other. You didn't even really say hi. Hi. I'm still not laughing. Okay. I mean, this is, I really like you and you just made fun of me in front of all these people. When you know there's chemistry, I thought it was flirtatious. And, Susanna, you absolutely were into it.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Yeah, and she probably kept going because she was scared because you were controlling her. Yeah, like in the car, I would hold your hand, and we were joking, and it was playful. But when you actually made me do lunges up to the door and then trying to sprint around the parking lot, it's a little too much. That is a little weird, Bianca, to be working out like that, like in the parking lot, and then asking your date to run sprints
Starting point is 00:11:36 and then you ordered a salad for her? That does seem sort of... What the hell? Like, you made out with me. You were all up in me. And you know what I'm talking about. I feel like that was a bad choice of words. Why would you do all those out with me you were all up in me and you know what I'm talking about I feel like that was a bad choice
Starting point is 00:11:48 why would you do all those things with me Susanna and then only not to return my calls my texts that is true Susanna
Starting point is 00:11:54 that is true she said that you guys made out a bunch at the end of your date why would you make out with her if you were having such a terrible time
Starting point is 00:12:00 we did I mean guys she was super hot I was into her I mean we've all done it and we were already there so you know why not why not. I was into her. I mean, we've all done it. And we were already there, so, you know, why not? Why not? Yeah, I guess you're right. I've done that before, too. I hadn't gotten action in a while. I was hoping it would lead somewhere, but I just didn't expect for it to be so...
Starting point is 00:12:16 Didn't expect it to lead here. I did not expect it to lead there. You didn't expect a random workout sesh to break out in the middle of your date. No. I'm not laughing again, and I'm really just disappointed. I mean, Susanna, I really liked you, and it's not my fault that your cardio isn't at the level of mine. And I'm really disappointed. What an insult.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Maybe she doesn't want to date a personal trainer or nutritionist or life coach or vegan or CrossFitter. Yeah, maybe just hang out instead of working out sometimes. Yeah, she can be what she wants to be. I mean, you can date whoever you want. I mean, obviously, you just don't want to go out with me. Well, let's make sure. Hey, Susanna, would you like to go out with Bianca again on another date? We'll pay for it.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I will pay for it, but I will not do a monthly gym membership. Don't have that kind of money. I don't think it's a good idea. Okay, fine. If that's your decision, that's fine. I was hoping you guys would go out on another date. I'm disappointed. I am too.
Starting point is 00:13:13 You know, I'm sorry we didn't mesh, but you are super hot. Well, there you go. You got that at least, Bianca. You're super hot. You're killing it. Yeah, you're killing it there. I definitely know we can't actually date, but it would be great to just, you know, we could hook up every once in a while. I mean, I don't see any problem with that. Okay. All right. You got a problem with that, Susanna?
Starting point is 00:13:31 You know, I have a couch in Netflix. We can definitely do this. All right. Well, that's a successful first day of fall then, in my opinion. The Jubal Show on demand.
