Starting point is 00:01:44 First day follow up. Jared is on the phone today for a first date follow up. And if you don't know who Jared is, how dare you? But Jared is on the phone right now for a first date follow up. And Jared, before we find out about your date, how long has it been since you went out with Emily? Yeah. Hey, guys. So it's been four days. Four days.
Starting point is 00:02:04 How many times have you tried to reach out to her yeah so i texted her a couple of times uh but i i don't want to seem like too desperate so it's only been four days since she started ghosting you yeah but if so you're on the phone with us could be a little i would consider that desperate if i were her i don't know it's just maybe but i'm just like i just haven't heard anything and you know i just thought she was really cool and you know i hope she can can reach out yeah all right so tell us about emily then how was your date with her yeah no no it was good i mean like i just haven't been on a date in a while and my friends have been trying to convince
Starting point is 00:02:46 me for a long time to just kind of get out there and so I ended up meeting Emily. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I mean, you know, in my opinion, I mean, she seemed to be, you know, enjoying the date and loved it. I mean, you know, she must have liked it because she stayed in my place.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Wow. Okay. Good for you, Jared. It's usually a good sign. And did you guys actually hook up? I mean, yeah. I mean, like, should I say yes? Well, just tell us the truth. Did you? I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:21 You know, we. Okay. He's like, you don't have to lie to us. It's fine. Yeah, you don't have to lie to kick it. Yeah, we're not your parents. We're not going to get on your case. Well, I mean, it is nice that he's, like, considering her, you know, like, not spreading their information.
Starting point is 00:03:33 That's true. Yeah, that is nice of you. I didn't even think about that. Oh, my God, you guys. You're a gentleman, Jared. Well, and I mean, you know, again, it was just it was fine. I mean, the only thing, you know, that I can think of that, you know, that maybe like offended her or, you know, where I pay for herself. And, you know, maybe that was a test. Maybe I should have tried to pay for her. I don't know. I mean, I really liked her. You let her pay for her own meal and then you felt like maybe she was testing
Starting point is 00:04:16 you. Right. Okay. I mean, I mean, that's a, that's a stretch. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I could, I could maybe see somebody not calling somebody back for that, but I don't think so. Also, though, I've been out with some people before who probably would be like, oh, my God. I think it's appropriate, though. Like, it's appropriate. What's appropriate? It's a split. It's a split.
Starting point is 00:04:35 When you first go on a date. Oh, on a first date, though? Yeah. No, I think the guy should pay. If you're interested in the girl. It just depends. It really depends. I think whoever asked should pay.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Whoever asked should pay, but whoever you're with should at least do the courtesy reach for the wallet or reach for the purse thing. Like if you don't reach for it, when I was dating, if you don't at least reach for it, like we both know that I'm probably going to pay, right? We both know that. But if you don't do the reach, I'm not calling you back. I clearly reached. Good job, Alex. But you think that maybe the fact that you did actually let her pay might be the reason she's not calling you back.
Starting point is 00:05:13 That's all you can think of. Yeah, I mean, that's really the only thing I can think of. I mean, I really liked her. And again, I thought we really hit it off. And like, you know, everything else went fine. I mean, so anything you guys can do for me, like to help me figure this out, like would be awesome
Starting point is 00:05:28 because I just don't know why she's ghosting me. All right, cool. Well, we'll play a song, come back, and then call her and see if we can find out the reason, okay? Okay, thanks, guys. We'll get your first day follow-up next. It's The Jubal Show. If you're just joining us for today's first day follow-up
Starting point is 00:05:42 or if you need a refresher because you have bad memories sometimes like I do, Jared is on the phone and Jared went out with a woman named Emily. They met on Tinder. He hadn't been out on a date in a long time. They went out to eat. She must have liked it a lot because she stayed at his place and then they did stuff that adults do sometimes when they're staying at each other's place.
Starting point is 00:05:57 And then she left and they haven't talked since. And Jared thinks it's because he let her pay for her meal. There wasn't anything else? No, like, again, guys, like, I can't think of anything else. Like, I am just, like, drawing a blank. Like, I can't think of anything else. Well, I'm going to call her right now and see if we can figure it out, okay?
Starting point is 00:06:18 And we'll see if it was the fact that you made her pay for her own food. All right, guys. I mean, I'm not that cheap, so. Sounds bad when I said it that way, huh? Sorry. Anyway, I'll call her right now. All right, guys. I'm not that cheap. Sounds bad when I said it that way. Sorry. Anyway, I'll call her right now. Here we go. Hello?
Starting point is 00:06:45 Hi, may I speak to Emily, please? This is her. Emily, how are you? My name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show. And mine's Alex. And mine's English Evan. Oh, hey. Have you heard of The Jubal Show before?
Starting point is 00:06:58 Yes. You have? Do you like it? Of course. We got an email about you from a dude named Jared that you went on a date with. Oh, God. Yeah. So Jared emailed us for a first date follow-up because he said you guys went out.
Starting point is 00:07:14 He had a good time. You even stayed over at his place. And ever since that night, a couple days ago, you haven't called him back. And he's wondering why you're ghosting him. Well, it was just a little weird. Your date was? Yeah. What happened?
Starting point is 00:07:31 Well, the date was great. I was just thrown off by something I saw at his house. What did you see at his place? So, um, I saw that he had a pair of high heels in his bedroom. Uh-oh. Oh. So do you think that he has a girlfriend? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:48 So my mind, of course, went all sorts of places. Like maybe he's a player or he has a girlfriend or I don't know. Who knows whose shoes those were. Wow. But I was just thrown off and I saw it, you know, like later in the evening. Where were they? They were in the corner, like in his bedroom, right by the closet.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Did you see the high heels before or after you guys made your date official in the biblical sense? Oh, it was after. It was on my way out. So you're thinking you might have a girlfriend?
Starting point is 00:08:19 Is that it? Yeah, I think something's up. I don't know. Why would you have high heels in the corner of your room? Well, we should find out. That's a good question. Yeah, we could find out. I want something's up. I don't know. Why would you have high heels in the corner of your room? Well, we should find out. That's a good question. Yeah, we could find out.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I want to find out. You want to find out, Emily? I'm good. I'll pass. Okay, well, let's find out anyway. Yeah, we want to know. Do it now. Sorry, didn't mean to not listen to you there,
Starting point is 00:08:38 but he's actually on the phone and wants to talk to you, and he's been listening this whole time. What? Yeah. Hey, Emily. Oh my God. So Jared, Emily wants to know
Starting point is 00:08:53 whose high heels those were in your room. Yeah, they're mine. But it's not what you think though. I mean, I just dressed up for Halloween as a funny character from a movie. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:09:09 A Halloween costume? Are you serious? No, no, no. Really, it was. I just dressed up like a character in a movie. You dressed up like a character in a movie. That just sounds like BS. What character did you dress up as?
Starting point is 00:09:24 I dressed up like a character in that one movie. Which movie? I dressed up like Mrs. Doubtfire. Really? Yeah. Are you married? No, I'm not married. Straight to married.
Starting point is 00:09:42 I don't think she believes you at all that you dress up as Mrs. Doubtfire and that's why you have high heels at your house. Okay, I know how to solve it. Picture or it didn't happen. Yeah, and the rest of the costume too. Oh yeah, that's a good idea actually. Text Emily a picture right now of you dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire
Starting point is 00:09:59 and then there's your proof. If not, then you're married and you've been married for 20 years and you have 14 kids. One of them, you just put through college. Congratulations. Yeah, well, guess what?
Starting point is 00:10:11 I will do that. I will text you right now. I actually have a picture. Okay. Well, those heels look pretty sexy and I don't remember Mrs. Doubtfire wearing those. What are you talking about? Mrs. Doubtfire,
Starting point is 00:10:21 she wore the sexiest heels. Yeah, she was the hot one. Super hot. Did you send it yet? Yeah, have you wore the sexiest heels. Yeah, she was super hot. Did you send it yet? Yeah. Have you sent the picture? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Emily, have you gotten his text yet? Maybe. Hmm. That's a good, that's good makeup. So, so is it a picture Of him dressed as Miss Dalfire Yeah that's what It looks like
Starting point is 00:10:48 Okay Same heels Yeah look at the heels On him Okay So do you believe him Thank you I
Starting point is 00:10:56 I do now Alright well cool Then would you like To go on another date With him We'll pay for it Sure Oh my Are you serious?
Starting point is 00:11:06 That was quick. All right. Congratulations, Jared. You got another date with Emily. That is unbelievable. I did not think we were going to pull that off. No, that was fast. Wow. This was just going sideways the whole time. It was going south.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Well, I guess he was telling us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much, Emily. I mean, I really liked you. I really liked you. So thank you so much. And I'm going to text you after this. So please answer. Please answer. Yeah, please.
Starting point is 00:11:37 What would Ms. Doubtfire say? Oh, no. Was that Scottish? Please answer, Emily. I need to talk to you. Not bad. Whoa. All right. Not bad at all.
Starting point is 00:11:48 See you later, Miss Dalfire. Congratulations. Thank you, dear. That's pretty good. The Jubal Show on demand. Ugh, we're so done with New Year, New You. This year, it's more you on Bumble. More of you shamelessly sending playlists,
