The Jubal Show on demand.
First day follow-up.
When people think when you do things
like this job, like you host a radio
show or you do other things, people can
bribe you to get on the air.
That's what people think. And the truth is,
absolutely.
And Tyler's on the phone right now for a first day follow-up.
He's not getting a call back from a woman named Amanda that he went out with, but Tyler shared
in his email that he's a luxury car detailer and hey, need the cars detailed. So Tyler offered up
his services for free if we would do the first day of follow-up, didn't you Tyler?
I don't think I ever said that the first time
I'm hearing that.
Okay.
Alright.
We didn't talk about that before
but I'm letting you know
now we're not doing
the first day follow up
unless we get the car
details for free.
Okay Tyler?
Okay.
Alright sweet.
So you're not getting
a call back
from a woman named Amanda.
How long has it been
since your date?
Been a couple weeks.
Couple weeks.
Alright and how many times
have you tried to reach out to her?
You know, a few times a night.
Not a few times a day, like once a day.
Once a day?
For two weeks straight?
Oh, no.
We love consistency.
No, no, no, no.
Like, you know, like, you know, a couple times a week.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
So you've reached out to her a few times.
Well, your story's changing. And you haven't heard anything from her. Yeah, I couple times a week. Okay. Oh, okay. So you've reached out to her a few times. Well, your story's changing.
And you haven't heard anything from her.
Yeah, I haven't, no.
Okay.
Your email said that you guys went out to dinner.
Yeah.
Did you go to dinner and a movie or just dinner?
Yeah, both.
It was nice.
We went to dinner.
We went, saw a movie.
Yeah, it was good.
Another thing your email said too is that you made her
pay for it and you think that maybe
you turned her off.
You made her.
Yeah, no, I mean I did
but I didn't make her pay for
all of it. Just hers?
Yeah, just her
portion of the meal.
Yeah, but I covered some drinks.
We had like a few drinks, so I covered those.
You were like, you went down the itemized bill,
and you were like, you're going to pay for this and this and this,
and I'm going to order the rest?
No, I just said, you know, I'll pay for all the other stuff.
I'm guessing that's the reason you think you're not getting a callback
is because you made her pay for her half of the date.
Not even half.
Like who knows? third yeah i think that's the reason um because
everything before the end of the day it was great um and uh yes it's been like two weeks and
you know we weren't talking all the time before the date but i've texted her, you know, and no response. So I thought, you know, maybe I should call her too.
I don't know.
Well, we're joking about the, like, making her pay stuff,
but you sound bummed about this.
Yeah, yeah, I'm confused, a bit bummed.
Well, I don't know.
She seems like a cool chick,
and if it was me asking her to split the bill at the end,
I do feel bad about that.
And I would like a second chance.
Maybe a third, too.
We'll slow down, though.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Okay, well, we'll call her in a second.
Where did you guys meet, by the way?
Yeah, we met on Tinder.
You know, chatting for a couple days getting to know each other and then you know we agreed to meet uh after work one day
uh we both work and live in the downtown area so it's pretty easy to plan something so just quickly
out of curiosity i want to know who picked the restaurant that you two went to. Yeah, the one where you made her
split the bill kind of in half.
You guys are really
kicking my ass today.
Damn.
She picked it.
Alright, well, we'll try to figure it out for you.
There's nothing else you can think of other than the fact that you made her split
the bill.
I don't know. It's fine. You don't need much more than that i think that might
be it well let's just figure out let's call her and see if we can get you a second date yep and
play a song come back and then call her and see if that is the problem and see if we can get you
another date okay okay thank you all right man we're ready for this you're just joining us for
today's first date follow-up tyler is on the phone, and Tyler is what you would call a classic gentleman.
Is that fair to say, Tyler?
Yeah, whatever floats your boat.
I say that because Tyler went on a date with a woman named Amanda.
He thinks he's not getting a callback because they went out for dinner and a movie and stuff and had drinks, normal date things.
But then Tyler actually made her pay for half,
well, we think half, maybe three quarters,
maybe, I don't know.
Anyway, he made her pay for some of the bill
and he thinks that's the reason he's not getting a callback.
And you liked her enough to want to see her again,
obviously, because you're doing this.
But what did you like about her?
You know, I loved her passion for her job.
I love that she was a go getter and I thought she was really sweet.
And yeah, she, we just, we seem to match in a lot of ways.
I like that.
We're going to call her right now and see if we can figure out if it was the
fact that you made her pay. Well, she's got money. She's a go getter.
So maybe it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, if it was that she paid,
you made her pay for some of the bill
or something else.
All right, I'm going to call her right now.
Ready?
Sure.
Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Amanda, please?
This is she. Hi, Amanda. speak to Amanda, please? This is she.
Hi, Amanda.
My name is Jubal Fresh.
And my name is Alex Fresh.
And my name is English Evan.
And we do a segment on our show called The First Date Follow-Up.
It's where if you ghost somebody, they can email us to get you on the phone and ask why.
So that's why we're here.
We're asking why.
Okay.
Who emailed you?
Oh, she's busy. She's busy a lot of dates yeah why don't you say a name we'll tell you if you're right um was it jared oh dear it was not jared but i would love to hear about Jared at another time. We're talking about a guy named
Tyler. Oh my gosh. For the love of God. What happened? Oh my God. Um, Tyler called us. He
said that he took you out on a date and the conversation was great. And he hasn't heard
back from you in like a week and a half or two weeks or something like that and he's confused why and he wants to
know and he's willing to hear whatever it is like he's the one that contacted us he knows that you
know whatever it is he's he's ready okay um well he didn't lie about the conversation part i will
say he's very easy to chat with and he's easy on the eyes, very handsome, if I'm being totally honest.
That's good, right?
Was it because he made you pay for your half of the bill?
I mean, yeah, that's obviously an issue.
But for me, the real issue is that he's not being honest and he's not being honest about something that's important to me, which is a man's career.
Wow.
Okay.
Okay.
So which man's career was he lying about?
Mine?
I hope not.
How dare you say something about my career?
So in the days leading up to our date, he told me that he owned like this luxury car
cleaning and detailing company service, whatever.
Yeah.
He said that.
So just to give you a little background, we talked to him a little bit, right?
He said he thought your day was awesome.
He really liked you.
He thought you were a go getter.
Um, and he put in his email to us that he's a luxury car detailer too.
Okay.
So yes, I believed him at first as well.
Um, and then after our date, when he like asked me to pay for half of the bill, I did some snooping online once I got home.
I did look up the name of the company he said he worked for.
And the company does exist.
The problem is everyone on the company website listed under the owners and founders was not him.
And he said he owns the place.
Yes.
Which is like clearly a lie to look cool or something.
But his name isn't on the website.
And because he made me split the bill, he clearly doesn't have that type of money.
Wow.
Did you question it, though?
Like maybe the website isn't updated or maybe he recently took ownership.
I mean, I did some thorough research.
I think if you're the owner, you would be lifted.
I also had a male friend call and ask to speak to the owner, Tyler.
And when he did that, the confused employee asked
if he meant the front desk clerk, Tyler.
Oh, my gosh.
So Tyler works at the place, just not an owner.
So he only lied a little bit.
What kind of a big lie?
What are you thinking?
If it's going to work out, don't you think that she would figure it out pretty quickly?
You would think.
Or is it like that show, Undercover Boss?
Oh, yeah.
Tyler actually owns the place, but he's manning the phones right now in order to make sure
his employees are doing the job
right, and they have no idea. That has to be what it is.
Drama. Hey, you know what?
Some more drama there, Amanda. Tyler's actually on the
phone listening, and he wants to talk to you.
Oh.
Okay.
Hey,
Tyler.
The guy who doesn't own a business.
Roasted. Uh, yeah, Tyler, the guy who doesn't own a business. Roasted.
Yeah, I never said, you know, I own the company.
I don't know what you're talking about.
You said in your email to us that you owned it too, Tyler.
Yeah, you literally said you ran the company.
I can pull up our old text.
Yeah, I said that I ran it, not owned it.
Okay, what is the difference?
Okay, yeah, no, I get your confusion, but I mean, I help run it.
I play a huge role.
And trust me, they could not get anything done without me.
One sick day and the whole company
falls apart.
Okay.
While I don't doubt that you
help the company, you can't just say
you run the company. You
are the desk clerk,
Tyler. You can't lie to
women to trick them into dating you.
You don't make tips, Cher.
You say you make tips still?
Yeah, I do.
Okay.
So Tyler, you don't feel like you may be misrepresented at all that you're an owner of the company
and you don't just work there, but even though you have a very important job and make tips?
Yeah, I don't think I misrepresented and maybe it was just
miscommunication, honestly. Well, here's a tip I can share. Stop lying to women about your job.
It doesn't look good. Okay, I wasn't lying, but all right. Well, I think we're at that point,
Amanda, where you've made your decision and I'm excited about this Amanda would you like to go out with Tyler again on another date we'll pay for it
no yeah well I just I wanted to know you know she obviously said no but uh if I actually own
the place you know and I didn't just work at the desk,
Amanda, would you still, you know, be ignoring me?
Probably not.
I mean, it's mainly that you lied.
But then Adam asked me to pay for half, and you asked me out.
Oh, that's good.
No, I like what I like, and what I like is an honest man
that doesn't ask me to pay for a single thing because he can afford it.
And he's not lying about his job.
Jubal, keep the second day, keep the money.
Why would I ever?
No, I'm so glad I found out.
Why would I date a girl who just, she's a gold digger.
Great.
No, thanks.
There's no gold to dig here.
She said the mine is empty.
