First date follow-up.
Braden is on the phone for a first date follow-up today.
He has no idea why he's not getting a call back
from a girl that he's been dating,
I guess, for a few weeks now.
Her name is Candace,
and I just wanted to ask him right away,
Braden, what did you do?
I didn't do anything.
Sure, sure. I didn't do anything. Sure.
Sure.
I didn't.
It was great.
But now she's ghosted me, and now it's like I'm dating Casper.
Aw.
Okay.
So tell us about Candace first.
How did you guys meet?
So we met on an app.
And I know, I know, but, you know, everyone's doing it now.
And I don't know.
We hit it off on the app, and started chatting And we went and grabbed some coffee
Safely of course
We're both vaccinated
So that was great
But it's
Yeah and then it's just
You know she started coming over a little bit
Things were going really well
And then nada
Nada?
Nothing
And how long has it been since nada?
I mean it's been like a week and a half now
Alright So that's definitely She definitely is ghosting you So Brayden again What did you do? How long has it been since Nada? I mean, it's been like a week and a half now. All right.
So that's definitely, she definitely is ghosting you.
So Brayden, again, what did you do?
I don't know, man.
Nothing.
I didn't do anything.
The last time you saw her.
Tell us about that.
Yes.
The last time I saw her, she came over.
We made spaghetti and meatballs.
Okay.
And there's like nothing you can
think of last time that you guys were together that may have turned her off a bit or her mood
changed during? Not really. I mean, I showed her some of my hobbies. I mean, we just talked for a
long time. We did one of those board games where you like have cards and you ask each other
questions. I thought it was fun. Well, and obviously you're calling us up because you
want a second date. So why don't you tell
us some things you like about Candice?
Oh, well, you know, she is like smart as a whip and sassy. I tell you what, she's not
afraid.
And she's sassy? Is she spicy?
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I just, she's, I like her a lot. She's just energetic. She's
fun to talk to. She's really pretty. I mean, redhead, which is just like a knockout for
me. Oh, Evan is a
redhead. Yeah, it's a rite of passage.
So if it doesn't work out with her, you could always
maybe date Evan.
If you like redheads.
Alright, so...
I think that's a no. So you can't figure out, though,
why she stopped talking to you. It's been about a week and a half.
What's the last thing that you guys said to each other?
I texted her. I was like, hey, do you want
to come over later? We were just trying to set up another
little hangout. We were going to watch
WandaVision
and she just kind of...
You were going to watch what?
It's a Marvel show on Disney+.
Yeah, it's a great show.
So you were going to hang out and watch that show
and then...
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maybe have some meatballs.
I don't know.
Go to Ikea.
Good for you.
Good date.
No, but, yeah, we texted.
We were trying to figure that out, and it just kind of petered off.
Never really, like, finalized anything.
And I text the next day, and she just kind of, I was like, hey, what happened?
Like, is everything cool?
Are you okay?
And just kind of crooked. All right, cool, what happened? Like, is everything cool? Are you okay? And just kind of crooked.
All right, cool.
And you literally can't think of anything?
No, nothing.
And it's weird.
I mean, we've been seeing each other for a couple weeks,
so it's just, I don't know, it's kind of like out of left field.
Yeah.
Well, I'm looking forward to calling her and finding out why.
Yeah.
So am I, Alex.
Me too, Jubal and Alex.
Maybe we should do that.
So let's do that.
Evan and Jubal and Brendan.
Brayden. What do you think about that, Brayden?
Why can't I remember your name, Brayden? I don't know.
Yes, I do
think we should do that. Jubal
and English Evan and Alex.
Alright, well then let's... I have a
feeling that Brayden
did something really weird and he
doesn't even know it. Most likely.
Most likely. It's right in the middle
of your first date follow-up.
Brayden is on the phone
and he's not getting a call back
from a woman named Candace.
They actually have dated
for a few weeks
and then all of a sudden
he had her over
for some spaghetti and meatballs.
Some Italian foods.
Delicious.
And that was the last
he's heard from her.
It's been a week and a half.
She's just kind of like
ghosted him.
Maybe because he didn't have
enough for seconds.
Maybe not. Maybe you needed more meatballs have enough for seconds. Maybe not.
Maybe you needed more meatballs, Brayden.
You think about that?
More meat.
Meatballs.
Maybe not enough meat in that.
Ball.
Spaghetti meatball.
You must get it by now.
Brayden?
Yeah.
Looking back at it now, it's pretty, I think that's step one.
That'll be first on the docket.
More meat next time you go on a date.
And the ball.
More meat.
Here we go, Brayden.
I'm going to dial her phone number right now.
Okay.
All right.
Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Candice, please?
This is her.
Candice, how are you?
My name is Jubal.
My name is Alex Fresh.
My name is English Evan.
There's three of us on the phone right now,
and we're part of the Jubal Show.
Hi.
Have you heard of the Jubal Show before?
I have.
I listen to you guys.
Oh, thank you. I wasn't you guys.
Oh, thank you.
Okay.
Well, cool.
It's nice to meet you.
Well, cool.
Why are you calling me?
Well, you went out on a date with somebody and you haven't called them back. So they emailed us to ask you why.
Okay.
So do you know who could have emailed us because you're not calling back?
Is it Brayden?
Yes, it is.
Yes, it is.
Okay.
Okay.
Brayden emailed us and he told us about your date.
Well, he said that you guys dated for a couple weeks.
And then the last time he saw you, you came over to his place for Italian food.
Didn't have any extra meatballs, just the food that he made,
and that was it.
And that's the last he heard from you,
so he's wondering if he did something wrong.
Uh-huh.
Okay.
He's a really nice guy.
I liked hanging out with him.
I felt like we had a lot in common.
But we went to his place,
and he collects bobbleheads. This is what I learned when I went to his place and he collects bobbleheads.
This is what I learned when I went to his place.
Okay.
No, like lots and lots and lots of bobbleheads.
Not like one or two, like a room of bobbleheads.
And you don't?
Well, not enough to have a room dedicated to them.
Like, I feel like that's like kind of intense and I'm a total neat freak.
And I just was kind of like.
Okay.
So it bothers you then.
It bothers me.
And I guess I was thinking like, I like this guy, but like, if this were to be become more
long-term, like this would drive me insane.
Like I would lose it.
Like I hate clutter.
I like, like really minimalistic everything.
And so it's just kind of
like, well, this will never work because he has a room of just like creepy little toys that all
wiggle when you walk into it. It's like, what? Did you ever talk to him about the bubble heads?
No, he was just like, kind of like, this is my collection. And I was like, oh,
because it wasn't like he hadn't brought it up before either. So I was like, totally like,
what? You know, I just walked into this room and there were just all these tiny toy eyes looking at me.
He just sprung a bobblehead collection on you, huh?
Who doesn't?
He didn't warn you about that ahead of time?
I mean, I don't know how that didn't come up, considering that it's clearly like a big part of his life.
Right.
It just weirded me out.
And I just was kind of like, you know what, maybe this isn't the right fit.
You know,
like maybe we're just not.
That's,
that's fine.
In my opinion.
I mean,
if she doesn't like,
you know,
something that he collects,
then yeah.
I mean,
if you're a clean freak and you say that you don't want to think about your
future house because you guys were definitely going to get married,
you don't want to think about your future house,
having a room full of bobbleheads.
I guess that's legit.
Like that's thinking about the future and things that you like and don't like, you know, I don't know if he'd be that understanding
of that though. We should ask him. We should ask Brayden. Do you think we should ask him, Candace?
I mean, I know you're going to.
Brayden.
Hi. Hi.
Oh my God. I'm sorry, Brayden.
No, no, it's, it'sden. No, it's all good.
It's just nice to hear your voice.
How's it going?
It's going fine.
I feel bad now because I know you heard that.
I mean, really?
I mean, it's just a hobby.
I don't really get why it's such a big deal.
You know, I guess that's kind of where I'm coming at.
Yeah, no, I get it. And I mean, you know? I guess that's kind of where I'm coming at. Yeah, no, I get it.
And I mean, it's, you know, you do you.
I just felt like, oh, I'm not, like, I'm a neat freak.
Like, that just was totally, I was like, oh, we don't have this in common.
Like, I thought we had a lot in common, and it's just, I don't know.
Yeah, well, I mean, I haven't got a really clean, like,
organized system for them all.
So, like, if you're worrying about neatness, like, it's not a big deal.
I think they're pretty in touch.
That's a good point.
But do you want them to end up in a tote in the garage?
Oh, they would never end up in a tote in the garage.
Yeah, they're too valuable.
I mean, see, that's what I mean, though.
Like, if we were dating long-term, like, they would end up in a tote in the garage.
It's like, it's weird weird and it's not my thing.
So it didn't feel right to keep going when I know like it's going to be an issue down the line.
I mean, like, did you like me at all?
I mean, don't you think you could like, you know, like learn to enjoy a hobby of mine?
Like, is it one hobby that big of a deal?
Yeah, I mean, no, I did like you.
Like I did like and i like spending time with you
i guess it just like really threw me off and i just kind of like got in my head about it because
then i was just like well this will never work so i'd rather just cut and run and i guess i didn't
realize it was like a hobby either like you were just kind of like and here are the bobbleheads
and like i didn't like i don't get it I don't know
anything about it and it just kind of was like you know like I didn't know it was like a thing
you did I thought you just like were a pack rat and you like got them and then it was kind of like
oh and then became this like oh I always get one everywhere I go you know like a mug or something
um well I mean if you want like just really quickly, it's like, long story short, my grandpa gave me my very first bobblehead,
and he ended up passing away, but he taught me to love that stuff,
so I just kind of kept buying more and more in kind of honor of him, because he was just such a super cool dude.
But yeah, it just kind of turned into a passion project to try and like, he collected them,
so I kind of like do it in his spirit,
I guess. Like carrying on the legacy. Yeah, you know, it's just, it's a cool way to remember him.
And honestly, some of them have turned into like collector's items. And so I've found like these
small communities that are like interested in selling and trading. And it's just, it's this
whole little like sub thing that I just, I never expected. It's like, I've made some pretty good money in the
bobblehead business, if you will.
Well, think about that,
Candice. One day,
all that bobblehead money could be half yours.
If you got your cards right.
Would you like to go out with Brayden
on another date, Candice? We will pay for it.
I mean, don't you think
that his reasoning is pretty sweet and that you should maybe give him a second chance? I mean, don't you think that his reasoning is pretty sweet
and that you should maybe give him a second chance?
I mean, come on.
Yeah, no, I feel like it was really sweet.
And I'm feeling really silly for like throwing something away
that could be really great.
Brayden, you were making that thing up, right?
That you got a love of bobbleheads to honor your grandfather who passed away?
No, it's the real deal.
I've got a picture of the first one on my phone.
Okay, because if you were making up,
it was a genius move to get a date.
Because that's a very good reason.
My grandpa would have beat me up if I lied about that.
Candice?
I mean, I would love to.
To be totally honest, I feel like that's really sweet.
And now I'm like, I feel like I could get into bobbleheads. Like maybe that's a thing I could get into.
Look at that.
If you're game, like if you're, if you're game, if you're willing to kind of like allow
my momentary freak out to not be a deal breaker.
I think we've established now that we can talk about some stuff and I'll make some more
spaghetti and have extra meatballs ready. So we're good to go.
Nice. Yeah. There to go. Nice. Yeah.
There you go.
Yeah.
Thank you, Candace.
I'll text you.
And guys, thank you so much.
You're welcome.
Congratulations.
When we get bobbleheads of us on the show, we'll send you some.
Don't tease me.
