Jared is on the phone today for a first date follow-up. And if you don't know who Jared is,
Starting point is 00:01:36 how dare you? But Jared is on the phone right now for a first date follow-up. And Jared, before we find out about your date, how long has it been since you went out with Emily? Yeah. Hey guys. So it's been four days. Four days. Right. How many times have you tried to reach out to her? Yeah. So I texted her a couple of times, but I don't want to seem like too desperate. So it's only been four days since she started ghosting you yeah but if you're on the phone with us could be a little i would consider that desperate if i were her i don't know it's just maybe but i'm just like i just haven't heard anything and you know i just thought she was really cool and you know i hope she can can reach out yeah all. So tell us about Emily then. How was your date with her?
Starting point is 00:02:31 Yeah, no, no, it was good. I mean, like, I just haven't been on a date in a while and my friends have been trying to convince me for a long time to just kind of get out there. And so I ended up meeting Emily. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I mean, you know, in my opinion, I mean, she seemed to be, you know, enjoying the date and loved it. I mean, you know, she must've liked it because she stayed in my place. Oh, wow. Okay. Good for you, Jared. It's usually a good sign.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And did you guys actually hook up? I mean, yeah. I mean, like, should I say yes? Well, just tell us the truth. Did you? I mean, yeah, you know, just tell us the truth. Did you? I mean, yeah, you know, we. Okay. He's like, what do I say? You don't have to lie to us.
Starting point is 00:03:12 It's fine. Yeah, you don't have to lie to kick it. Yeah, we're not your parents. We're not going to get on your case, you know. Well, I mean, it is nice that he's like considering her, you know, like not spreading their information. That's true. Yeah, that is nice of you. I didn't even think about that.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Oh my God, you guys. You're a gentleman, Jared. where I did something wrong was just, I don't know, you know, maybe it was because she was, you know, very persistent and, you know, wanted to pay for herself and, you know, maybe that was a test. Maybe I should have tried to pay for her. I don't know. I mean, I really liked her. You let her pay for her own meal and then you felt like maybe she was testing you. Right. Okay. I mean, I mean, that's a, she was testing you. Right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:07 I mean, that's a stretch. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I could maybe see somebody not calling somebody back for that, but I don't think so. Mm-hmm. Also, though, I've been out with some people before who probably would be like, oh, my God. I think it's appropriate, though.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Like, it's appropriate. What's appropriate? It's a split. It's a split. When you first go on dates. Oh, on a first date, though? Yeah. No, I think the guy should pay. If you're interested in the girl. It just depends. I think appropriate? To split. To split. When you first go on a date. Oh, on a first date though? Yeah. No, I think the guy should pay.
Starting point is 00:04:27 If you're interested in the girl. It just depends. I think whoever asked should pay. Whoever asked should pay, but whoever you're with should at least do the courtesy reach for the wallet or reach for the purse thing. Like if you don't reach for it,
Starting point is 00:04:39 when I was dating, if you don't at least reach for it, like we both know Make an effort. that I'm probably going to pay, right? We both know that, but if you don't do the reach for it, like we both know. Make an effort. That I'm probably going to pay, right? We both know that. But if you don't do the reach, I'm not calling you back. I clearly reached.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Good job, Alex. But you think that maybe the fact that you did actually let her pay might be the reason she's not calling you back. That's all you can think of. Yeah, I mean, that's really the only thing I can think of. I mean, I really liked her. And again, I thought we really hit it off. And like, you know, everything else went fine. I mean, so anything you guys can do for me, like to help me figure this out, like would be awesome because I just don't know why she's ghosting me.
Starting point is 00:05:17 All right, cool. Well, we'll play a song, come back and then call her and see if we can find out the reason, OK? OK, thanks, guys. We'll get your first day follow-up next. It's the Jubal Show. If you're just joining us for today's first day follow-up or if you need a refresher because you have bad memories sometimes like I do,
Starting point is 00:05:32 Jared is on the phone and Jared went out with a woman named Emily. They met on Tinder. He hadn't been out on a date in a long time. They went out to eat. She must have liked it a lot because she stayed at his place and then they did stuff that adults do sometimes
Starting point is 00:05:43 when they're staying at each other's place and then she left and they haven't talked since. And Jared thinks it's because he let her pay for her meal. There wasn't anything else? No, like again guys I can't think of anything else.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I am just like drawing a blank. I can't think of anything else. Well, I'm going to call her right now and see if we can figure it out. Okay. And we'll see if it was the fact that you made her pay for her own food. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:06:10 I'm not that cheap. Sounds bad the way when I said it that way. Huh? Sorry. Anyway, I'll call her right now. Here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Emily, please?
Starting point is 00:06:34 This is her. Emily, how are you? My name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show. And mine's Alex. And mine's English Evan. Oh, hey. Have you heard of The Jubal Show before? Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:46 You have. Do you like it? Of course. We got an email about you from a dude named Jared that you went on a date with. Oh, God. Yeah. So Jared emailed us for a first date follow-up because he said you guys went out. He had a good time.
Starting point is 00:07:02 You even stayed over at his place. And ever since that night, a couple days ago, you haven't called him back and he's wondering why you're ghosting him um well it was just a little weird your date was yeah what happened well the date was great um i was just thrown off by something i saw at his house. What did you see at his place? So I saw that he had a pair of high heels in his bedroom. Oh, oh. So do you think that he has a girlfriend? I don't know. So my mind, of course, went all sorts of places, like maybe he's a player or he has a girlfriend or I don't know who knows whose shoes those were. Wow. I was just thrown off and I saw it, you know, like later in the evening.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Where were they? They were in the corner, like in his bedroom, right by the closet. Did you see the high heels before or after you guys made your date official in the biblical sense? Oh, it was after. It was on my way out. So you're thinking you might have a girlfriend? Is that it? Yeah, I think something's up. I don't know. Why would you have
Starting point is 00:08:09 high heels in the corner of your room? Well, we should find out. That's a good question. Yeah, we could find out. I want to find out. You want to find out, Emily? I'm good. I'll pass. Okay, well, let's find out anyway. Yeah, we want to know. Sorry, didn't mean to not listen to you there,
Starting point is 00:08:25 but he's actually on the phone and wants to talk to you, and he's been listening this whole time. What? Yeah. Hey, Emily. Oh, my God. So, Jared, Emily wants to know whose high heels those were in your room. Yeah, they're mine.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Oh. But it's not what you think, though. I mean, I just dressed up for Halloween as a funny character from a movie. Yeah, right. A Halloween costume? Are you serious? No, no, no. Really, it was.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I just dressed up like a character in a movie. You dressed up like a character in a movie. You dressed up like a character in a movie. That just sounds like BS. What character did you dress up as? I dressed up like a character in that one movie. Which movie? I dressed up like Mrs. Delfire. Really? Are you married? No, I'm not married.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Straight to married. I don't think she believes you at all that you dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire and that's why you have high heels at your house. Okay. I know how to solve it. Picture or it didn't happen. Yeah. And the rest of the costume too.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Oh yeah. That's a good idea actually. Text Emily a picture right now of you dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire and then there's your proof. If not, then you're married and you've been married
Starting point is 00:09:51 for 20 years and you have 14 kids. One of them, you just put through college. Congratulations. Yeah, well guess what? I will do that. I'll text you right now.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I actually have a picture. Okay. Well, those heels look pretty sexy and I don't remember Mrs. Doubtfire wearing those. What are you talking about? Mrs. Doubtfire, she wore the sexiest heels. Yeah, she was the hottest.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Did you send it yet? Yeah, have you sent the picture? Yeah, yeah, I sent it. Emily, have you gotten his text yet? Maybe. That's a good makeup. maybe hmm that's a good that's good makeup so did
Starting point is 00:10:30 so is it a picture of him dressed as Miss Dalfire yeah that's what it looks like okay okay so do you same heels
Starting point is 00:10:37 yeah look at the heels on it okay so do you believe him thank you I I do now. All right.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Well, cool. Then would you like to go on another date with him? We'll pay for it. Sure. Oh, are you serious? That was quick. After all of that. All right.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Congratulations, Jared. You got another date with Emily. That is like unbelievable. I did not think we were going to pull that off. No. That was fast. Wow. I mean, this was just going like sideways the off. No, that was fast. Wow. This was just going sideways the whole time.
Starting point is 00:11:07 It was going south. Well, I guess he was telling us. Thank you. Thank you so much, Emily. I really liked you. I really liked you, so thank you so much. I'm going to text you after this, so please answer. Please answer?
Starting point is 00:11:23 Yeah, please. What would Ms. Doubtfire say? Oh, no. Was that Scottish? Please answer, Emily. I need to talk to you. Not bad. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Not bad at all. See you later, Ms. Doubtfire. Congratulations. Thank you, dear. The Jubal Show on demand. We're so done with New Year, New You. This year, it's more you on Bumble. More of you shamelessly sending playlists,
