date follow-up and Daniela's on the phone.
She's not getting a call back from a dude named Deshawn that she went on a date with.
Daniela, before we ask you about your date and try to figure out why Deshawn is ghosting you,
how long has it been since you saw Deshawn?
It's been a couple days now, actually.
All right, so it's been a couple days.
And how many times have you reached out to him since your date?
I texted him three times
and I called once
and I saw the blue
bubbles pop up.
He was going to respond but he didn't.
Okay. And nothing.
So he bubbled you and then
he didn't actually send it. He bubbled me
and then nothing. I hate getting bubbled.
Alright, well let's try to figure it out then.
Tell us a little bit about your date with Deshaun.
So we went to the casino and that was our first date.
And it was, I mean, it seems like he seems like a good guy.
I had fun, but I'm not sure exactly where I went wrong or what happened.
What did you guys do at the casino?
Because there's so many things you could do.
You could gamble, watch a show, dinner.
Yeah, so we ate dinner, and he taught me how to play poker, and I actually won.
Oh, okay.
That's nice.
Look at you.
Maybe that's why he's not calling you back.
Did you take all his money?
No, we saw a show after,
and I mean, I had a good time.
He was kind, assertive,
and he had a lot of money.
Oh, all right.
Does that work out?
Is that what you liked about him the most?
He was my kind of guy.
I know that's right, girl.
Okay.
God be trying to find out where he got to.
So how did the date end then?
So you guys went to the casino.
You said you had fun.
Did it seem like he was also having fun?
I mean, yeah, it seemed like he was having fun.
I mean, after the date, he dropped me off and we kissed.
Okay.
And I thought we were on the same page, but we said we would hang out after and then that's it.
You haven't heard anything since?
I haven't heard anything since.
I got bubbled and that was it.
Do you think maybe he knew that you, one of the reasons that you thought he was attractive
was his money?
Because that could have been a turnoff.
I don't know.
No, no.
I hope not.
I mean, other than the money, I like I really love that.
Like, you know, he was talking about his daughter and I'm a single mother.
So I really admired that. Like we shared something in common there.
She honestly paid a lot of attention. And what I really admired about him was that he had lots of patience because I, I was like venting to him and he was
just very attentive to everything I was saying. And, uh, he just kept staring at me into my eyes
and I was like, wow, this guy's like, like actually listening to my words. And Oh, he was also like
putting his hands on my, like on my thigh and everything and holding my hand while I was talking.
And I could just feel that he really understood me.
Okay, that's nice.
And nothing since.
And you don't know why?
And nothing since.
And I'm honestly really confused what went wrong.
I haven't heard a thing.
Okay, well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you then.
We'll play a song, come back and call him
and try to find out why he's not calling you back
and maybe get you another date with Deshaun next
in your first date follow-up.
Just joining us for today's first date follow-up,
Daniela's on the phone
and she went out with a dude named Deshaun.
They went to a casino.
He taught her how to play poker.
She took all his money and now he's homeless
and doesn't even have a cell phone to call her back with.
That's what happened.
And now he's not calling her back, no.
He taught her to play poker.
She thought that he was an awesome guy.
They're both single parents.
She thought that he seemed to be a good listener,
seemed to be very patient,
and he couldn't keep his hands off her as well, Daniela.
It sounds like you like that too.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, we're about to call him and see.
It's been a couple days.
He's been ghosting her.
We're about to call him right now
and see if we can figure out why he's ghosting.
All right, I'm going to dial the phone number right now.
Here we go.
Hello?
Hi, man.
Speak to Deshaun, please.
Speak? Who is this? Deshaun, please? Speaking, who is this?
Deshaun, this is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
I don't know if you listen to it or not.
Yeah, yeah.
I want some tickets and stuff like that.
No, you don't.
If only.
You must not listen that much, Deshaun, if you think we got tickets.
So we do a segment on the show called The First Date Follow-Up.
That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them,
that person can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting.
Ghosting?
Oh, you mean like not calling back, not texting back type of thing?
Exactly.
Oh, okay.
I got you.
So we got an email about you from someone that you went on a date with recently,
and they liked you a lot, but now you're not calling them back,
and they want to know why, so they asked us for help.
I mean, to be honest, I'm confused.
It could be anybody, to be honest.
So you've been on a lot of dates then?
I mean, pretty much I go on a date every day.
Like, I haven't missed a date every day like i haven't missed a day
sometimes i go two times in in one day like i actually have one today you know in a little
while you double book i gotta be honest it's it's i don't know it's just a thing that i do like i
think i'm just a you know a serial ghost you could probably say, you know. Okay. I enjoy first dates, you know.
But, you know, I don't really enjoy doing the follow-up part.
You know, I believe a date should just be a one and done type of thing.
Like, you know, just fun, no strings attached.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, that's my type of thing.
It sounds exhausting.
Yeah, that sounds like a lot.
That sounds like a lot. You're going on dates that much? I love it. I love it. It sounds exhausting. Yeah, that sounds like a lot. That sounds like a lot.
You're going on dates that much?
I love it.
I love it.
It's so much fun.
Okay.
Well, then I guess I know why you're ghosting,
but I haven't even told you who it is.
It's Daniela.
Do you remember going out with Daniela
on one of your many first dates?
Oh, yeah.
Actually, you know what?
That's ironic that you mention her because, you know, out of all the dates, you know, I've been on, you know, she was like she was like the one that, you know, I feel like I shared a real connection with.
And, you know, I almost broke my rule. I was going to break my rule and actually follow up with her but you know i got nervous at the last minute and in the last minute
i was like i just gotta you know stick to the game plan and just keep it moving you know okay
right you don't want to go into your own code there yeah i almost broke my rule with that one
though to be honest well would you break it right now because she's actually on the phone and wants to talk to you. Oh, I should have known.
I should have known.
You should have known that.
You want to talk to her?
Yeah, that's fine.
Did she hear the conversation?
Yep.
She heard everything.
Yes, she did.
Daniela?
Oh.
Hello.
Hey.
Hey, how's it going? well you know yeah so so i heard you're a serial
ghoster i mean you know but you know i i definitely shared a connection with you and you know
you know i definitely had a lot of fun you know with you and i, I don't know. I don't mind. We probably could, you know, have a second date, you know?
Yeah. I don't know.
I honestly I'm really confused because I thought we really connected and I
thought we both just shared something in common and it was very like
emotional, but I don't like the fact that you go on multiple dates.
That's a little bizarre to me, honestly.
You know, the fact that I go on multiple dates still doesn't, you know,
negate the fact that, you know, we actually did have a connection.
That doesn't take away from that because I felt like we had a connection as well,
you know, and I apologize, you know, if you're not, you know,
if you don't understand my lifestyle.
But yeah, I just like things that's new and fresh.
Sometimes, because I've been in a long-term relationship,
and I don't want to go back to the misery of us looking at each other under a microscope
so every little thing we don't like about each other is highlighted.
But in the beginning, when it was new, it was new and we just liked each other.
You know what I'm saying?
Opposed to, I don't like the way you chew.
I don't like the way you do this.
I don't like the way you do that because we've been around each other too much, you know,
wearing out your welcome type of thing, you know, but, um, I wouldn't mind going on a second date with you to be honest yeah it sounds like you don't like commitment or responsibility
i mean yeah yeah i mean you you're right you know but at least i'm honest yeah that's true
he said you're right i don't't know. It's getting toxic.
You're telling the truth, at least.
You know, life is too short, you know, to not be honest, you know.
Good point.
Life's too short to not go on two dates a day, too, apparently.
Yeah, you know, that's what I'm saying, you know.
Yeah.
But one thing we can't deny is, you know, well, I mean, I had fun.
I would hope that you had fun as well, you know, and if you did, I'd make everything serious. You know, we could go for a round two if you're up to it.
Whoa.
Daniela, would you like to go on another date with Deshaun?
We'll pay for it.
Yeah, I mean, I like the fact that you were honest.
I respect that.
And, I mean, you are hot, so.
All right, so pretty much what I'm giving for you is you don't mind getting back together, you know, making it do what it do, you know.
Oh, my God.
You know, we can make that happen. I would love all right well then congratulations that's a successful
first day follow-up you guys are getting another date sean thank you for your time man appreciate
it hey thank you guys you enjoy you have a good one just a message you know to all the guys out

things that you want by being honest and it creates less of problems in your life so you know
just take that lesson from sean you know how we do yeah hey um when is service on Sunday? Because I'd like to go to your church. The Church of Sean.
No, no church on Sundays.
We sleep in because we have long nights.
I love this guy.
