Here's a way to start a conversation. Your family is going over to your neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home? Hey. Hey, we're so excited for tonight.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Before we come over, though, may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in your home? Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that the kids can't access. Awesome. Learn how to have the conversation at Agree2agree.org. Brought to you by the Ad Council. It's time to catch a cheater.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Only on the Jubal Show. Ali is on the phone today for To Catch Cheater, and she thinks that her boyfriend of four years named Jane might be messing around, so we'll see if we'll see if we're. We can catch him if he is in just a second. But first, Allie, what's up? Why do you think Jay might be cheating? Well, I have seen some odd behaviors from him that have sort of gotten me a little concerned.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I guess it really stemmed from, I'm worried if he's being honest with me. The way that we pay rent is that every two weeks, he just kind of cash up's me his half of the rent and then I pay it. but sometimes he'll forget, you know, he's not, he's not the one who's best with schedules. Like I am, I'm, like I work for an agency. I am very type A. So I'm kind of the person who has to have everything on schedule. I have everything timed out. I have lists and everything like that.
Starting point is 00:03:41 And Jay, I love him, but that is not the type of person that he is. So every once in a while, he'll forget to pay me. And a couple weeks ago, maybe like a month ago, he, forgot to pay me. And I was like, hey, baby, you need to send me your half of the rent. And he was like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, no problem. And he pulled out his phone to check his bank account to make sure that there's enough money in there. And I happen to, like, look over and he had like over $8,000 in his account. He makes enough money to pay his half of the rent. Like, he's not broke or anything like that. But I'm, I'm the one who, you know, I have the real job. I have, like,
Starting point is 00:04:22 the adult job. You know, I have the one that. taking up all of my time and I don't have $8,000 in my account. So how is his job, you know, providing that kind of money? So I kind of, I feel bad. I kind of flipped out on him saying, you know, like where did this money come from? There's no way that you make this at work. And he, you know, the only thing he had to say to me was that he was saving. But I don't understand how he could have that kind of savings when he makes less than me.
Starting point is 00:04:52 he's not the most frugal person like i don't know that was the first thing that sort of made me a little concerned but so how would that tie to him cheating on you do you think that he's like an escort or something and he's making extra cash oh my god um i did not think that thank you oh all right mad that also that's where my head went right away yeah explain why that leads to cheating But he does get weird work calls, too. That's the other part of this is that I feel like work is calling him at all hours. And, you know, we'll be hanging out in the very precious few hours that I have that I'm not at work. And he'll get a phone call and he says that he has to take it.
Starting point is 00:05:41 It says it's work. He'll go into a different room to take it. And I don't know. There's something about the way that he speaks on the phone from what I can hear. like he's talking to a child or something like I don't you know how when people talk to different people on the phone you can kind of tell by their tone like if like you're talking on the phone and you're like oh that was your mom the tone that he has when he talks on his phone to these supposed work calls doesn't seem like a work tone well is he like a sugar baby I'm just trying
Starting point is 00:06:13 to figure out like who he's spending time with it's also like paying him well because of that particular tone, like I said, that's not a friend tone. Like that's the thing that makes me think that he's cheating is that he's talking to somebody on the phone in a, in a voice that is you know, like not the kind that you talk to just at work. Yeah, I get it. Like the whole baby kind of a voice, but not like a child. Yeah, yeah. But like he wouldn't, you know, I never hear him say baby or anything, but it's just, I can't think of a reason why he would be talking like that to someone on the phone who supposedly his work. You know,
Starting point is 00:06:48 I ask him about it. I'm like, why are you getting all these work phone calls? And he says, oh, well, like, there's a new hire and they really need a lot of direction or always asking questions. And that just, yeah, that really isn't, these things aren't all adding up to me. Okay. We'll figure it out for you. Then you already told us what grocery store, he's a rewards card member at.
Starting point is 00:07:07 So we'll call and pretend to be from the grocery store and say that every single month, we choose one lucky rewards member. We get a free gift from us and his flowers delivered from our floral department. And we'll see if he sends those to you or to some. somebody else, all right? Okay. I've been out. We'll get your,
Starting point is 00:07:22 to catch Sheeter next. You know the shade is always Shadiest right here. Season 6 of the podcast Reasonably Shady with Jazele Brian and Robin Dixon is here dropping every Monday. As two of the founding members
Starting point is 00:07:36 of the Real Housewives Potomac were giving you all the laughs, drama, and reality news you can handle. And you know we don't hold back. So come be reasonable or shady with us Each and every Monday, I was going through a walk in my neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Out of the blue, I see this huge sign next to somebody's house. Okay. The sign says, my neighbor is a Karen. Oh, no way. I died laughing. I'm like, I have to know. You are lying. Humongous, y'all.
Starting point is 00:08:16 They had some time on their hands. Listen to Reasonably Shady from the Black Effect Podcast Network On the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Elam is a spirit. It's not just a city. I didn't really have an interest of being on air. I kind of was up there to just try and infiltrate the building. It's where Cronk was born in a club in the West End.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Four World Star, it was 559. Where a tiny bar birthed a generation of rap stars, where preachers go viral, and students at the HBCU turned hard. heartbreak in the resurrection. How do you get people to believe in something that's dead? Where Dream was brought Hollywood to the South, and hustlers bring their visions to create black wealth. Nobody's rushing into relationships with you.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Where are you from? They want to look in the eye. Where the future is nostalgia. Talk to the chat, GPT. She's like, you really did first lady to have a gayful girl's tape in Atlanta, Georgia. Like, that's what separates you from a lot of people. And I'm like, oh, what, you're right. Atlanta doesn't wait for permission.
Starting point is 00:09:14 It builds its own spotlight. I'm big rude. Let us guide you through the stories behind Atlanta's most iconic moments. Listen to Atlanta is on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I'm I'm Ida Goliaguan. And on our podcast, Hungry for History, we mix two of our favorite things, food and history. Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells, and they called those Oster Khan, to vote politicians into exile. So our word ostracize is related to the word oyster.
Starting point is 00:09:49 No way. Bring back the OsterCon. And because we've got a very mi-casa is-s-sucasa kind of vibe on our show, friends always stop by. Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet was through the Gulf of Mexico. No, the America. No, the Gulf of Mexico. Continuan-a-N-ever and ever, let's see here, let's see.
Starting point is 00:10:13 It blows me away how progressive Mexico. Mexico was in this in this moment. They had land reform. They had labor rights. They had education rights. Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the Mycultura podcast network available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Right in the middle of a catch a cheater if you're just joining us, Allie is on the phone and she thinks that her boyfriend of four years named Jay might be cheating. So we're about to call him and pretend to be from the grocery store that he's a rewards card member at and say
Starting point is 00:10:49 that he's this month's lucky winner of free flowers delivered from our floral department and we'll see if he sends those to his girlfriend to Ali or to somebody else. But before we do that, Ali, why don't you break down your situation for us again real quick? Um, okay. So I think that there's some behavior that my boyfriend has that is concerning. He has an amount of money in his savings account that I feel is a little suspicious and he's taking a lot of phone calls and doing a lot of work after hours that, I don't know, I really can't think of a reason why he'd be doing this. Well, and you did hear him talking to somebody
Starting point is 00:11:24 that made it sound like it was kind of an intimate conversation. Yeah. All right. Are you ready for us to call him? Yep. Yes. Do it. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Hello? from I was looking for a rewards card member name. Jay. This is him, yeah. Hi, Jay, please don't hang up. This is not a marketing phone call. I'm actually calling with a big congratulations. You're this month's winner.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Okay, all right. Cool. Did I win something? I'm not sure if you're aware, but every single month we choose one rewards card member who gets a free gift from us. And this month is flowers delivered from our Florida department. You've just won 36 longs dim red roses,
Starting point is 00:12:09 a box of candy or chocolate, and a card to be delivered to anybody that you want within the 50 United States. Absolutely free. you know i always have luck like this that's really funny yeah that's cool awesome so what do i need to do well here it's very simple how it works um the first thing i would need be the first and last name of the person you want to send them to
Starting point is 00:12:27 and then if you want to put anything on a card then we'll get the address um okay uh can i do can we can we give it to crystal yes we could do that and anything that you would like to put on a card to crystal Yeah On the cart, can we write Like something just to brighten your day beautiful I'll be over later Got it
Starting point is 00:12:50 And now, Jay, I will let you know That this is actually the Jubal show It's a radio show Sure is, hi, I'm Nina Hi, I'm Victoria And my name's Jubal, how are you? What is this? It's a radio show, it's called The Jubal Show
Starting point is 00:13:03 And we do a segment that's called To Catch a Cheater Where if you think your significant other Might be messing around You see who they send flowers to And your girlfriend Ali is on the phone listening Yeah, got them Probably wants to know who Crystal is.
Starting point is 00:13:14 I'm sorry. Hi, Jay. Well, I'm confused, too. I'm confused as to who Crystal is. I mean, I really thought things are going really well. Ellie, what, I'm not cheating. You think I'm cheating? I'm not cheating.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Please tell me what it could possibly be. Allie, this is a big misunderstanding. I'm sorry. I promise you I'm not cheating. Oh, no. Please tell me how this is funny. Crystal is just a friend of mine who I met from work. It's not.
Starting point is 00:13:54 I know it sounds bad. I promise you it's not what it sounds like. See you later, beautiful? No. I don't know. It's not something that I would send to my co-workers. No, Crystal, she's not a coworker. She's a woman that came into work.
Starting point is 00:14:11 and I've been helping her outside of work I promise you I'm not cheating Why are you calling her beautiful though I don't think that that's something that you just casually throw around All right Okay I haven't been completely honest Or truthful but if you must know
Starting point is 00:14:28 Crystal is a woman who came in So I work at And I help a lot of people that come in And need help with their technology And their photos and everything and this woman Crystal came in who is 85 years old and asked me to help her digitize some photos that she had from her family and her husband who had passed.
Starting point is 00:14:53 An 85 year old, so you're into grandma? No, no, no, I'm not, there's nothing romantic happening. I promise you, she came in. I was helping her with her photos, and she, I was very helpful, and she was very sweet, and she asked if I would be able to come over and do some odd jobs and some more, like, tech stuff because she lives alone, her husband passed, and so I've been going over there on my free time and doing odd jobs for, making a little bit of extra cash on the side.
Starting point is 00:15:26 I promise you, I'm not interested in her. So I don't understand. Is she paying you to, is this like a sugar mama coming to thing? Like, I don't understand. What are you doing at this woman's house? Why is she paying you? Like, just to help out? That doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I mean, yeah, I guess, I guess kind of, that's what it is. I mean, I mean, she is paying me a lot, and she didn't ask me to take my shirt off the other day. I promise, it's not, it's not weird. I'm not, I'm not interested. It's just, she's sweet. She's older. she just needs some she lost her husband she doesn't have any friends at the nursing home and and she's got a lot of money and she's got no kids she's got no one to leave it to so and she's
Starting point is 00:16:17 insisting that she helps out and and i tell her about you i tell her about us okay so she asked you to take your shirt off what happens when she asks you to do more things what is the what is the limit to this situation you have here there is a fine limit i told her about you so many times it's just I did it to get a little rise out of her she's lonely she's she's 85 years old not much is not much is going to be happening I promise okay well I'm I'm glad that you're laughing about this but you've been lying to me about this I mean how long has this been happening how long have you been going over there and why wouldn't you just tell me you're right I'm sorry I haven't told you I'm sorry I haven't been more honest but I promise
Starting point is 00:17:05 you nothing bad's been happening it's just i'm trying to save some extra money right now and i'm kind of didn't want to tell you i didn't want i didn't want me to be suspicious or or to worry or for something like this to happen i can even show you pictures of her like i i promise you nothing's going on i'll show you the photos she sent me photos of herself you can wait not like that not like that she's asking you to take your shirt off you're saying you a bunch of money. I mean, this woman's pretty amazing. She's very sweet. She's kind and she's an 80-something year old pervert who's having you do chores with your shirt off. Why aren't you treating her like the predator she is? Allie, I promise you, I will not let it cross any
Starting point is 00:17:53 lines or boundaries. Like, I really do love you. I really want to be with you and I want to spend my life with you. So I'm doing what I can to prepare for that. him to keep doing this? I don't even know what to think about this. My immediate answer is no. No, I don't want him going around trading up and down with this shirt off. That's not what? Ellie, but she gave me $2,000 the other day.
Starting point is 00:18:20 She paid you $2,000 just to talk to her? Yes. I mean, like, $2,000 to just make an old lady happy. I mean, maybe I could get on board with this. All right, well, we'll let you guys figure it out. But, hey, at least he's not cheating. Yeah. No, but we need to talk.
Starting point is 00:18:40 We need to talk. Yes, we can talk. I want to meet this crystal. You can come over next time, for sure. I'm keeping my shirt on, though. The Jubel shows. To Catch a Cheater. Hey, I'm Kyle McLaughlin.
