Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to an iHeart podcast. This week on Dear Chelsea with me, Chelsea Hamler and Helms is here. I of course was drawn to the LSD story. This was all under official government activity. They built a apartment that had a glass mirror where he could sit there and watch. And then they would drug these customers and he was just sort of taking notes and God knows what else behind this double mirror. And this was all in the name of science.
Starting point is 00:00:29 This just sounds like a guy off behind a wall. It does. Listen to Dear Chelsea on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A lot of times big economic forces show up in our lives in small ways. Four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding, but the price has gone up.
Starting point is 00:00:49 So now I only buy one. Small but important ways. From tech billionaires to the bond market to, yeah, banana pudding. If it's happening in business, our new podcast is on it. I'm Max Chaston. And I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith. So listen to everybody's business on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

We're talking music, idols, exclusive interviews, and even the real behind the scenes K-Pop stories. Plus, you're the fans, you're part of the show. And you can get a chance to jump in, share your opinions, and be part of the conversation like never before.
Starting point is 00:01:29 And trust me, you never know where we might pop up next. So listen to The K Factor starting on April 16th on iHeartRadio Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. This isn't just a podcast, it's a K-pop experience. Are you in? Let's go. I want you to ask yourself right now, how am I actually doing? Because it's a question that we rarely ask ourselves. All of May is actually Mental Health Awareness Month and
Starting point is 00:01:54 on the psychology of your 20s, we are taking a vulnerable look at why mental health is so hard to talk about. Prepare for our conversations to go deep. I spent the majority of my teenage years and my twenties just feeling absolutely terrified. I had a panic attack on a conference call. Knowing that she had six months to live, I was no longer pretending that this was my best friend. So this Mental Health Awareness Month, take that extra bit of care of your wellbeing. Listen to the psychology of your twenties on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or
Starting point is 00:02:22 wherever you get your podcasts. It's time to catch a cheater. on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time to catch a cheater only on the Jubal Show. Alice is on the phone today for to catch a cheater and she's been married to her husband, Jesse, for 10 years. But now she thinks something might be going on. So we'll see if we can help her out. Alice, sorry you have to come on the show this way. But what's going on? Why do you think Jesse might be cheating?
Starting point is 00:02:42 Well, you know, I've never thought that he was a cheating type before. I would never, ever, we've never had any drama, not a dramatic relationship. Um, right. Uh, but recently, I don't know, last couple of months, things just seem a little bit weird. Um, there's been a few things that have happened. I swear like you, if you knew Jesse, he's, he's not, I've never ever thought of him as a cheating type. Like maybe occasionally I see him checking out some girls, but that's normal, right?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Smack him upside the head. We move on, right? He's a dork. He's a nerd. He never leaves the house or at. He never leaves the house. Or at least he never left the house. Literally, he would have to actually meet a girl to cheat on me. So unlikely. But for the last month or so, all of a sudden, I see him texting a whole bunch. He's not a big texter. I mean, I love him so much. I love him to death. He's not on his phone texting people. He's just, he doesn't hang out with people. He never acts like he wants to hang out with people. And so suddenly I see him texting all the time and I'm asked and I ask him, what are you doing? Why are you texting? What are you doing? And he says,
Starting point is 00:03:58 it's work texting my brother. He would not willingly text work for his brother, much less suddenly be doing it all the time. Okay. It's not his, that was not his thing. It's weird. It's just weird. It's different. He randomly, all of a sudden he's going out.
Starting point is 00:04:18 So he does go to the movies by himself. Like that is a thing that he does. If I don't want to see the movie, he goes and that's fine. But all of a sudden it's happening more. He just randomly says, up, I'm going to go see a movie and just bounces. And it's so it's been happening more and now in the coffin. So I walked in and he was on his phone and he was in the he was in the Bumble app. Oh, did you say anything to him about it? No, it's just my heart just like I felt it dropped. I have no idea what's going on in his head.
Starting point is 00:04:57 We've been together 10 years. Like this is I thought you guys immediately. It was first thing I thought of is like, I just have to, I have to figure out what the hell's going on. If he thinks, if this guy thinks that after 10 years, he can cheat on me. Yeah. He has got a fun surprise waiting for him. And that's not even like he met somebody.
Starting point is 00:05:14 He is actively just pursuing on an app. Is there any other reason you would have that app? Do you think he could be looking for a friend on it? Not like, not like looking for him? Not like looking for a friend. Not like looking to make friends. Don't they have BumbleBFF or whatever? They do have BumbleBFF. Okay, so maybe that wasn't what I was thinking, but like for a friend.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I don't know, like one of his coworkers or something. Yeah, but then just why wouldn't he just tell you about it then? He does not have any friends. None of the people he hangs out with are that kind of friend. Okay. Okay. I just can't even wrap my head around him like doing something like that for someone else. He doesn't he's not close with any of his co-workers that way.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Okay. So introvert. Oh, that's really frustrating. Well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you. Okay. Okay. You already told us what grocery store he's a rewards member at so I'll play a song come back and then call him and pretend To be from the grocery store and say that every single month we choose one lucky rewards member who gets free flowers delivered from our Floor department and we'll see if he sends those to you or somebody else. All right Get your catch cheater next
Starting point is 00:06:22 Yo, keep up this is your boy Han, and I'm bringing you something epic. Introducing the K-Factor, the podcast that takes you straight into the heart of K-pop. We're talking music reviews, exclusive interviews, and deep dives into the industry like never before. From producers and choreographers to idols and trainees, we're bringing you the real stories behind the music that you love. And yeah, we're keeping it 100 discussing everything from comebacks and concepts to the mental health side of the business because K-pop isn't just a genre, it's a whole world and we're exploring every corner of it. And here's the best part, fans get to call in, drop opinions,
Starting point is 00:07:03 and even join us live at events. You never know where we might pop up next. So listen to the K Factor on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This isn't just a podcast, it's a movement. Are you ready? Let's go.
Starting point is 00:07:18 I found out I was related to the guy that I was dating. I don't feel emotions correctly I am talking to a felon right now, and I cannot decide if I like him or not Those were some callers from my call-in podcast therapy gecko It's a show where I take real phone calls from anonymous strangers all over the world as a fake Gecko therapist and try to dig into their brains and learn a little bit about their lives. I know that's a weird concept, but I promise it's pretty interesting if you give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Matter of fact, here's a few more examples of the kinds of calls we get on this show. I live with my boyfriend and I found his piss jar in our apartment. I collect my roommates' toenails and fingernails. I have very overbearing parents. Even at the age of 29, they won't let me move out of their house. So if you want an excuse to get out of your own head
Starting point is 00:08:13 and see what's going on in someone else's head, search for Therapy Gecko on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's the one with the green guy on it. This week on Dear Chelsea with me, Chelsea Handler, Ed Helms is here. I of course was drawn to the LSD story. In the 1950s, a CIA scientist secretly bought the entire world supply of LSD embarking on a horrific attempt to discover the secrets to mind control. This is so insane. This was all under like official government activity.
Starting point is 00:08:47 They built a apartment in San Francisco that had a glass mirror where he could sit there and watch. And then they would drug these customers and he was just sort of taking notes and God knows what else behind this double mirror. And this was all in the name of science. This just sounds like a guy off***ing off behind a wall. It does.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I would just also like to say if you don't have to take LSD like this, LSD can be microdosed. It's like an upper of energy, enthusiasm, makes you less nervous if I'm going heli-skiing. If it allows me to go hella-skiing, then yeah, I'm hella on board. Listen to Dear Chelsea on the iHeartRadio app,
Starting point is 00:09:24 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In the middle of To Catch a Cheater, and if you're just joining us, Alice is on the phone and she thinks that her husband Jesse of 10 years might be cheating. So we're about to call him and present to me from the grocery store that he's a rewards card member at and say that he's this month's lucky winner of a free gift from us and his flowers delivered from our floral department and we'll see if he sends those to his wife Alice or to somebody else. But before we do that, Alice, why don't you break down your situation again real quick?
Starting point is 00:09:52 Okay. So Jesse and I have been married for 10 years, no drama, great relationship, totally talk about everything, but he's been texting a lot. He's been going to the movies by himself more frequently. And I saw him using the Bumble app on his phone. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, that part is shady. All right. Are you ready for us to call him? Yes, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:10:18 OK, here we go. Hello? Hi, this is Corbett calling from ****. I was looking for our rewards card member named Jesse ****. That's me. I'm Jesse. Hi, Jesse. Please don't hang up. This is not a marketing phone call. I'm actually calling with a big congratulations.
Starting point is 00:10:43 You're this month's winner. Thanks. I don't know what you mean but all right. Oh well every single month we choose one rewards card member who gets a free gift from us and this month is flowers delivered from our floor department you've just won 36 long stem red roses a box of candy or chocolate and a card to be delivered to anybody that you want within the 50 United States absolutely free it's a three hundred and value congratulations real free yeah wow well that's crazy but yeah thanks what no problem the first thing I would need from you would be the first and the last name of the person you want to send them to and then we'll get
Starting point is 00:11:17 anything on a card if you want to put something on a card and then we'll get the address and be good to go okay all, uh, Alice? Alright, got that. And would you like a card along with it? Uh, no, yeah, um, I would love to. Can you write, Hey old woman! Exclamation point. Love you. Gonna be at the movies tonight,
Starting point is 00:11:40 but here's something pretty for the pretty lady. Okay, got that. And, um, now Jesse, at this point, I'll let you know this is not a grocery store. But here's something pretty for the pretty lady Okay, got that and Now Jesse at this point. I'll let you know if this is not a grocery store It's actually a radio show. That's called the Jubal show. I am Nina. I am Victoria and my name is Jubal What is going on I'm sorry We do a segment on our show that's called to catch a cheater Where if you think you're significant other might be messing around you see who they send flowers to and your wife of ten years
Starting point is 00:12:13 Alice old lady the old lady is on the phone. Oh my god She I'm the cheating time the cheater surprise. Oh No, baby You think I'm the cheater? Yes, I do. Oh no, baby. You think I'm the cheater? Yes, I do. Oh, baby. You've been acting shady. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:12:33 What do you think I'm cheating? You keep going to the movies by yourself. You're texting all the time. I saw you on the Bumble app. 10 years, totally honest with each other. And what are you doing? Why, what are you hiding? Alice, you have nothing to worry about.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I have nothing to worry about. Why the are you on the Bumble app? What are you doing? This is so embarrassing. Um... You're embarrassed? You know what's embarrassing, Jesse? Your husband of 10 years being on Bumble. And you catching him doing it.
Starting point is 00:13:13 That's embarrassing. What the f*** are you doing? This is the reason I didn't want to say anything. Let alone have it on a damn radio station. Ugh... What? That's a very good question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Okay, look, Alice. I have a problem. Um. Yes, hello. Do you have a problem? Well, I'm not cheating. That's not the problem. I need to be clear. I swear that's not what it is.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Why do you have Bumble then? Well, cuz I'm trying to find some friends. We haven't lived here very long I don't know anybody except Alice where we are I thought I would try to find it to get some guy friends to hang out with you know Go to the movies do some stuff because I hear all these people say you can make friends on it, but that's bull What what I heard you can make friends too, but all I get is guys hitting on me. I'm so confused. Oh, wait, what? You just set up Bumble.
Starting point is 00:14:12 And does it say that you're like looking to meet other guys? I was looking for guys to do things with, but now it's just guys who want to do things to me. So what do you say to them? Hi, my name's Jesse. I'm just looking to hang out and maybe go catch a movie. Um, you know, I don't have a lot of friends and be great to hang, you know, maybe do something fun.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Uh, I didn't know that that was what I was implying, I'm guessing now, but yeah, usually I'm just like, let's go have a good time. They say yes. And then they ask, you know, if we need dessert or I'm going to spend a night and then they send like a topless picture of themselves or something funny. Oh my God, Jesse, you're, you're coming. Seriously, babe, you've been meeting men on a dating app. Well, I haven't actually met any yet because baby, every time I meet one of them, they seem cool, but then they start hitting on me or touch my leg or ask if we're going to go back to their place.
Starting point is 00:15:18 You're so irresistible. Yeah. See I, I, I don't understand why you couldn't just talk to me about this. Well, now I will. I'd really like some help. This is horrible. I was embarrassed. You know, I'm not a social person.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I thought it was weird. I had to use an app to look for friends. A lot of people do it. Yeah. A lot of people use the Bumble BFF. Yeah. You just have to put the BFF card on. You will find that you're not alone. A lot of people use the Bumble BFF. Yeah. You just have to put the BFF card on, Jesse.
Starting point is 00:15:46 You'll find it. You're not alone. Yeah, you'll probably find some friends on there, you know? Well, I mean, I don't want to judge anybody, but I don't think these are the friends I was intending to find. Yeah, no, I don't think you're judging anybody. You're a married man of 10 years. You should not be trying to find anybody to mess around with.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Hey, Alice, do you think maybe you could help teach me how to use this later? I would really, really appreciate that. This is getting more awkward by the moment. Yes, I will help you change your settings. I cannot believe you. Update his Bumble Profile. You guys get to bumble together. That's fun.
