for a first date follow-up, and Jerrica went out the phone today for a First Date Follow-Up. And Jerrica went out with a dude named Manny. But now, Manny is ghosting her and she doesn't know why. So, we're going to see if we can figure it out for her and maybe even get her another date if she wants one. Depending on the reason of the ghosting. Jerrica, how are you? I'm doing good. Thank you for helping me out.

I'm doing fine, thank you. Yeah, for sure. Okay, well, we'll see if we can help you out. First, tell us a little bit about the date. How long has it been since you went out with Manny? Well, it was just about two weeks. But the thing is, is that we seem to have a great time all the way. So I don't know why he would ghost me. So we actually met on bumble one day and that wasn't all that you know thrilled or anything it was just like another meet but then the next day when we matched on tinder you know we had to take a double look at that it was like something that you know really made us like trip

out off of it you know what's the chance you saw each other on both dating apps absolutely and that's what made us say you know heck yeah let's try something um that and combined with he offered me a chance to do something i've never done before and you know i like to try new things right okay well what was it well he said he would take me to a line dancing contest at a country bar and i thought yeah i'm more on board with that you know okay line yes yes yes and i'm telling you that was such a good idea we had such a fun time and you know man he was super cute and funny and um i mean he had a way with words and when he put those strong hands on my hip you know as part of the line

dancing i didn't realize how many times he was gonna have to put his hand on my hip but i did know they were strong so the line dancing was fun his big strong hands were great and did he seem like he was also having as good of a time as you were yes he seems smitten if you ask me so you know we were we didn't want it to end because at the end of the night we ended up getting like some ice cream and we actually got a little up close and personal and made out a little bit um you know and then we both went in you know before we got in our cars to go separate ways we decided we you know have some fun and stuff like that and um since we were having such a good romantic up close and personal kiss and all of a sudden maybe it's something that i said that may

have um turned everything a little bit different that's what i'm thinking in hindsight what'd you say well um as we were kissing and getting really hot, I just said like, he asked me, hey, so would you like to come over? And you know, we in the middle of getting it on and I was like, I would absolutely love to. And I know he could tell I wanted to, but I said I didn't have a sitter.

A sitter, okay. And hindsight, I just remember that he had this awkward look and kind of like shut everything down quickly after that. And they just went like, okay, let's go. Like, you know, it went really fast. So I'm wondering if he's thinking when I said the part about the sitter that I held back some information from him, such as like having a child. But I have a dog.

Oh, okay. Did you clarify it at all or did you just leave it at sitter i didn't realize it until later because i was you know in the last two weeks been going back over each and every moment of the date and everything else seems so perfect that's the only thing that sticks out to me that could possibly be honoring i mean that would be shocking if you went out with someone and you didn't know, like, you didn't think they had kids and then at the end of the day, they're like, I can't go back to your house because I don't have a sitter.

You'd be like, whoa. I thought about that. And it would be reasonable, too, if I were to hide something like that. But it just, I was all excited about, you know, kissing and hugging and getting all like that. And I did want to hang out longer, but I just thought about my dog. What happened after that when you were like, all right, well, I would love to come over, but I don't have a sitter. Like, what was his response after that?

His response, it was more like how his look was. He was like, oh, OK, got you. And it was like real short from there. OK, well, have a good night. I was like, is he saying like next after that? You know, I didn't know what happened because it changed like at that point. Okay, well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you.

We'll play a song, come back and then we'll call him and ask him why he's not calling back. And if it is the sitter thing, we can, you know, tell him it was the dogs and you don't have kids that you didn't tell him about. Yes, yes. He's got a good sense of humor.

So he's fine that funny, I'm sure. Okay, well, we'll see. We'll play a song, come back, and then call him right after this with your first date follow-up. Right in the middle of your first date follow-up, if you're just joining us, Jerrica is on the phone,

and she's not getting a call back from a dude named Manny. She has no idea why she's getting ghosted. She thinks it might be because he might think that she has kids, and she didn't tell him that because they went line dancing. She said they had a great time.

She said Manny has wonderful big strong hands and Jerrica really liked that. Right, Jerrica? Yes, that was awesome. Yeah, she loved the big strong hands. And at the end of the day, they were making out. He actually asked Jerrica to go back to his place. Jerrica said she would, but she has a sitter.

And Jerrica forgot to mention dog sitter, not babysitter. And Manny got a weird look on his face, so she thinks maybe Manny was like, whoa, you didn't tell me you had kids. So we're about to call him and find out if that is the reason or if there's another reason and see if we can get Jerrica another date. All right, Jerrica, are you ready for me to dial his phone number?

So we're calling you today because we do a segment on the show called The First Date Follow-Up. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, that person can email us and ask to call you and find out why you're ghosting

them. And we got an email about you from somebody named Jerika. Oh, yeah. Jerika's, let me tell you, Jerika's great. Jerika's, she's cool. She's a real cool girl. Okay. What's going on, though?

You liked Jerika? Yeah. Then why are you ghosting her? Well, okay, well, hey, you know, everything was good. We were having a great time. You know, we went dancing and afterwards we're getting close, we're making out. But then she said something that kind of triggered me. Was it the fact that she said that she couldn't go back to your place because she needed to get a sitter?

Yeah, that was it. Okay. Yeah, she thought that actually might be the issue. She thought that maybe you think that she has a kid she didn't tell you about. Is that what it is? No. You know what? I knew it was a dog. You knew it was a dog sitter know what? I knew it was a dog.

You knew it was a dog sitter? Well, I knew it was a dog the whole time. I knew she didn't have a kid. But the sitter comment bothered you? Well, the thing is that she just got a puppy. Uh-huh. And I know that the amount of attention you got to show a puppy is like, I can't compete with that.

You know, like, even if she had a teenage dog, like, I is like, I can't compete with that. Even if she had a teenage dog, I still wouldn't be able to compete with that. It's just like, there's too much going on, too much attention needs to be shown to that dog. A teenage dog? Yeah, it could be like, you're just scraping at doors and you guys are trying to get intimate.

They get jealous, they're chewing on the walls. I already know what kind of a red flag. Wait, you're saying you're ghosting her because she has a puppy. Yeah, I just said that. I'm going to say that again. You ready? Hey, you know what it is?

The dog's taking away too much attention from me. It's a little puppy dog. I can't compete with that. Okay, so you don't want to compete with a dog for attention. I don't, I can't. And I already know what it comes with. It comes with a lot of storage.

I'm telling you. I don't know if you've been dating a girl with dogs or puppies before, but it doesn't work. Oh, okay. Wait a minute. Are you serious now? Wow, at least I know, now I get it.

Now at least I know what it is, huh? Are you really saying that you wouldn't date me because I have a dog? Jerrica, let me tell you, that's what the reason was. You're great. You're a great girl. I'm telling you, I would love to go on another date. Maybe we had an adult dog.

If you had an adult dog, we would go on another date. Because, you know, the adult dogs are not going to be in my business. They're not going to be, you know, harassing you. But it's a puppy. I don't want to compete with attention from the dog, you know? I know you're not doing something like that. You're coming for my pooch with those comments just because he's smaller and he's not a full-grown dog.

I mean, at least he makes more sense than you. Let's just put that out there already. He's nicer, and we can actually tell he's definitely more confident and secure than you are. I cannot even believe it. What kind of arrested development, never had a hug before type of person are you? We had a great connection. And I'm going to tell you one thing.

Any girl that gets with me is basically struck gold. I'm top tier, and I know it must just be cool or anything like that. So I know my worst as well. So it's not like that. It's just that it's the best flag with puppies. What a joke. It's the best flag. It's like, please tell me, what age is it that you plateaued at?

Because definitely you did not grow up. You want to tell me you're from a coach dog? From puppy to teenage. From puppy to teenage. I like the dogs that lay on their spot when they're at home, and they don't bother you, and they might get a drink out the toilet and then go sit back on their spot. I don't want the dogs that are just jumping around. Every time I hug you, they're gnawing at you.

I got hair all over my clothes when I leave the place. I ran out of lint rollers. I've been buying lint rollers at Walgreens like 10 times a month. That is so unreal what kind of boss is this for you having such strong hands i would go as far as to say it's full of sabotagement on such a weenie weak disposition like yours are you serious right now it's a dog it doesn't matter big or small part of my family my hands are big they're big for a reason okay we already know what the reason that is, right? But we're not talking about that.

We're talking about the dog. The dog, I'm telling you, I've been in a relationship with a girl before, and it didn't work, and I don't want that to happen to you. I'm looking out for you, kind of. Because I'm telling you, it's what's going to happen. I'm so black. Manny, I've heard of people that aren't, like, dog people, but if you like her, then you could date her. You don't date the dog, you know? It doesn't work like that it never works like that i'm telling you guys it never works like that you're dating the dog and the girl she's gonna see and if she gets with a guy in the future

if he might just take it and not say anything but this it's really a job you gotta dedicate yourself to and where do where do I fit in with that? I'm a needy kind of guy. I'm sorry. I'll tell you the truth. I'm a needy. I like to touchy-feely stuff but I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to compete with a little puppy. A puppy is adorable. I don't want to compete with it.

Rather than ghosting her, why didn't you just tell her? That was my fault. I shouldn't have done that. I should have told her and been honest with her. But that's the only thing where I will take the blame. I should have told you the reason why instead of ghosting. Well, you don't have to worry about sitting in now. You can go ahead and sit this out. But I know one thing.

My dog is even closer to me now that I know he deterred you. Somebody like you. I don't want to be with somebody like you anyway that is not going to be now that i know he deterred you somebody like you i don't want to be with somebody like you anyway that is not going to be fond of my pooch you might be trying to mistreat my dog when i'm not home have a nice life hey jerica you could have struck gold but you lost it and he hung up i don't know it might be fool's gold jerica i'm sorry you didn't strike gold there you know what? I'm not going for the gold anymore. That's what it is. I don't want it. Wow. I'm good. Could you believe that? Wow. You sure you don't want me to call him back and try to get you another date?

Oh, no, I'm good on that. I'm good. I don't even appreciate that offer right now. I can't even be honest and say I do. Well, it sounds like he was gold. So, you know, I don't know. I don't judge it. Well, at least now you know why. Yes, you'd be the judge of that one. That is like baffling to me. But OK, at least I got what I came for.
