First date follow up. Jesse is on the phone today for a first date follow up and he's not getting a call back from a girl he went on a date with named Ella. Jesse, before we get into your date and why you think it went wrong and why you think you're getting ghosted.

How long has it been since your date with Ella? It's been about a week and a half. Week and a half. Okay. And how many times have you tried to reach out to her about a week and a half. A week and a half, okay. And how many times have you tried to reach out to her in that week and a half? I would say definitely three, four times, maybe five. Oh, okay. Persistent.

That might be too much. Might not be, though. You never know. And she didn't respond at all? Yeah, no. No contact. I feel like I am being ghosted, but I don't understand. That's why we're, you know what I mean? I just don't get it. Okay.

Well, you're definitely being ghosted. If you try to get a hold of her four or five times in a week and a half and she hasn't responded, she's definitely ghosting. So tell us a little bit about the date. Sure. So we met at a bar, got some appetizers, had a few drinks, and look, I thought we had a great time. You know, the conversation was good. It was flowy. You know, we were talking about family, that kind of stuff, some of our hobbies.

It was super relaxed. It was fun. Nothing too bad, I felt, went awry. But? Oh, wait, you guys met at the bar, and then you guys got each other's number, and then you waited a week to go out? Yeah, we like text back and forth for a few days which is pretty normal and just kind of you know trying to get schedules and hey are you available at this night and so we came up at a night so she like already knew who you were like in person she already met you so

she agreed to a date with you that you know most people don't see the person beforehand before they go on a date you know so where do you think during the date went wrong? Can you remember anything like any conversation that went south at all? You know, I really don't, you know. I really kind of spent some time thinking about this. I guess one part of the night maybe went wrong so at the end of the night i went in for a kiss um because i thought i thought it it felt right the vibe was there and she put her hand up a little oh and she said no oh and kind of pushed me away the vibe was definitely not there then

well i mean a lot of people don't like to kiss on the first date that's kind of like a big deal for a lot of people but even if she were that that is true like there are people that you know just aren't into like kissing or like affection on the first date but perhaps if she wasn't that person you should have known that or felt that vibe before going in yes you know totally and look i felt bad about it i apologized after i really did think that was the vibe like it was very flirty there was chemistry and so that so i went for it and obviously i she didn't like it and i felt horrible about it well how did like so when you guys parted ways did she say that she wanted to see you again and did it sound genuine she did so when we parted ways she felt like i felt like i was going to see her again um i apologized you know that at that

moment about she kind of kissed her. And she said it was okay. She was like, no, it's fine. It's just that it was our first date, and she just didn't feel comfortable doing that. Which I said, okay. Do you think that's why she's ghosting you? Because you went in for a kiss too soon? Yeah, I mean, that's the only thing I can think of, truly. That's it, okay.

And you liked her? I did like her, yeah. Like I said, I mean, the conversation was there. It was great chemistry. We laughed. We, you know, we were definitely very flirty throughout the night.

So that's why I don't get it. Okay. All right. Well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you. We'll play a song, come back, and then call her and find out if going in for a kiss too soon

is the reason that you're getting ghosted right after this. If you're just joining us for today's first date follow-up, Jesse is on the phone and Jesse is getting ghosted by Ella. It's been about a week and a half. He's reached out five times, and he's gotten no response, and he doesn't know why.

We asked him about the date. He said that they went to a bar, had some food and drinks, and the conversation was great, had a really good time. He thought she was feeling him, so he went in for a kiss, and then he got denied. She put her hand up and said, back away before I call the cops. Nope. Painful. That's what she said, but she said, no, I don't want a kiss right now. And so he got shut down, which is always very awkward.

And that's the only thing that he can think of being the reason that he's getting ghosted is maybe he tried to get a kiss too soon. Other than that, Jesse, you can't think of anything else? No. We're about to call her right now. Get her on the phone though and see if we can figure out if that is the reason or if there's another reason. You ready, Jesse?

Mm-hmm. Um, yeah. Okay. We did. What does that mean? We do a segment on the show called The First Date Fault. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, they can call us because you won't call them back and then we

can call you and ask you why you're ghosting them that's the whole thing that we do and you recently went out with a dude named jesse and now you're not calling jesse back so jesse emailed us and asked us to get you on the phone and find out why you're ghosting him yep oh yeah okay i remember jesse so it's good that you remember him. Do you remember liking Jesse or do you remember not liking Jesse? That's a really hard question because Jesse is like, he was a good guy. I mean, he's a good looking guy at least. At least. Okay.

Let's celebrate that. He told us, you know, we talked to him about your date. He said that he thought the conversation was great. He thought you really liked him. The reason he thinks he's getting ghosted is because he went in for a kiss and you shut him down and said no. Yeah, I did do that. Um, it was, it was very awkward. The whole kiss, like it, it didn't, it really didn't need to happen. It wasn't the right timing, and I felt really awkward about that. It wasn't just that, though. When he went to the bathroom, there was a server that came around, and I picked two really fun, flirty drinks for us to try when we got back. That's fun.

And he came back, and he got so annoyed at me. He was like, why did you order for me? This is such a girly drink. This is not something I normally drink. What? Yeah. It was so random. Just be happy that I'm trying to have fun.

He legit got upset about that? He got very upset. He only wants manly drinks, and this is just really embarrassing to him. What? That's weird. What a weirdo. Yeah, but how do you think I feel? It's embarrassing for me to have, you know,

this guy that I was having a good time with start, like, berating me over a damn Cosmo. Sounds delicious. I mean, I love a Cosmo. Right? He didn't tell us anything about that. He just said the date went great and you had a good conversation and he liked you a lot.

He didn't tell us that he got mad because he got a drink with an umbrella in it. Right. I mean, I apologize. Like, I didn't want to hurt his feelings or anything but just between that and then him trying to kiss me so after he got mad like i just i got so frustrated with the whole situation and i haven't even had time to think about it he was so rude yeah that's weird i mean honestly it's weird to me that somebody would get that

upset like especially on a first date i mean i wonder if it's weird to me that somebody would get that upset, especially on a first date. I wonder if it's because he didn't get a drink that he wanted or if it was because she ordered for him. Yeah. It wasn't like that. That's kind of weird. But it's like in a fun, flirty way. It's not like you're doing it out of a controlling way. Well, it was too much for me, so I haven't responded back yet. Okay.

Well, he is on the other line. He is on the phone right now listening and wants to talk to you. So there's that. Yeah. Wait, what? Yeah. Yeah. What's up there?

Really? Really? So it was the drink thing, huh? That really put me over the edge. That was it. It was a few things. There was the drink, the drinks, and the fact that you tried to was a few things there was the drink the drinks and the fact that you tried to kiss me at the most random moment okay that wasn't the energy was there we were

definitely vibing i made you laugh a few times you were feeling me you kicked me under the table a few times too which i thought was flirting apparently not um what are the cause though why couldn't you do an old-fashioned like you know i'm a little bit more of a man than that come on so it is a like a drink thing you were offended like uh your manhood was offended because you ordered a cosmo yeah i didn't really love that who cares for real yeah why is that a big deal man a drink's a drink right it's just like the glass that comes in it's in there's flowers in it there's an umbrella it just it wasn't for me are men not allowed to be around flowers no not necessarily but i mean

flowers in your drink is a little more specific is that really for me it's for the vibe and you ruined the vibe for real yeah if i ordered a cosmo for us that doesn't mean that you're less of a man you shouldn't take that to heart no i'm right no i i shouldn't and in retrospect i i probably messed up a little bit it was just a combination of things i just i wasn't expecting a cosmo like you know it comes in that stupid martini glass or whatever and like why can't you give me a whiskey or, you know, a Manhattan or something really, yeah, real manpower. You know what I mean? Gross. Yeah, I just think that this is really weird. I've never had a guy, like, tell me this before.

So, you never had a guy tell you that before? I'm pretty sure it's standard code. Like, you don't order a guy a Cosmo. Come on. They didn't give me that when they gave me my man card. They didn't have that talk with me. Also, Cosmos are strong and will have you turnt,

so I'm not sure what the problem is. Right. As long as I get drunk, I don't care what it is. Look, I'm not a chick. I'm looking to date a chick. You know what I mean? So it kind of starts

with the ordering for me, at least. Calling them chicks is a great way to date them, too. Seriously. Do you call me a chick? Do you hear yourself? Your tone is ridiculous. Look, you need to grow up, okay?

You need some serious emotional maturity. Am I done? Do I have to talk to him anymore? Well, I just have one more question. Would you like to, Ella, would you like to go on another date with Jesse? We'll pay for it. Mm-hmm. Well, I guess.

Think about it. Plus, guys, it's a hard no for me. I'm going to pass. Okay. Wow, really, Ella? Like, so now all of a sudden you're too good for me. Wonderful, because over a stupid drink. Like, I'm looking to get past this I think we can uh there was some chemistry there maybe if we don't

order drinks this time we can get through it chemistry until I saw that you're angry well I wouldn't have gotten angry if you didn't order me that stupid girly drink you got to stop with the drink okay yeah sorry this is a little much for me like jesse like the fact that you're still making a big deal out about the fact that you're making a big deal about this and that you don't even care how i feel about the situation and kind of how embarrassed i was like yeah you don't you don't belong with a girl you should just be by yourself for a while. Just reflect. Oh, my God.

Over a drink. Look at and I apologize for that. But Jesus Christ, the Cosmo can do better than this. We can do better. Wow. Yeah. OK, well, not enough Cosmos in the world would get me through another date with you. The Jubal Show on demand.
