We get that other person on the phone to see why they're "ghosting".Timining is everyhting and you have to be careful when doing these phone calls and you never know when your calling somebody and what they are doing! Greg is on the phone today for a first date follow up and he is not getting a call back from a woman he went on a date with.

Her name is Brennan and I don't know why because Greg took her to one of the most romantic places you could ever take a date. Where? The airport. Oh, that sounds fun. Let's go. Flying out? No, to get some food. What?

To go eat at the airport where they have the best food. Greg? No. I think this is already starting off weird. Maybe we now know what the problem is. I mean, usually when you don't

think of fine dining experiences, you think of the airport. We'll get to your date in just a second. First of all, tell us how long it's been. Well, it's only been maybe like 10 days or so.

Okay. But I mean, we had texted and stuff before that. Like, we had talked a bit before we finally went out so this is a strange silence how many times have you texted her since your date uh like four times okay okay so did you really take her to the airport for food well sort of i mean we went by the airport so your date was driving by the airport we well we went there's this so your date was driving by the airport well we went there's this kind of this cool little hip i don't know hole in the wall near the airport and we did that because i'm a i'm a plane lover i was able to get a tour of a hangar that's dope

oh that is cool okay so we did the really kind of hip restaurant then we got this little kind of private tour you know it was just kind of, you know, something different. So did she seem to like that? Well, yeah. I mean, the thing is, we talked a lot. I mean, what shocked me is she loves planes, too. And, like, you never find a girl that loves planes. And so that kind of excited me because, you know, I'm really, really into that.

Are you into planes because of, like, someone in your life that has been a pilot or something? Are you just like interested in aviation? No, it seems, you know, if you ask my parents, apparently I was born with it. Like I always built models as a kid and I always then as a little older was could tell you what plane if it was, you know, close enough, what was flying right overhead and all the model numbers. So apparently I was just born a plane geek. That's just like my weird gift, I guess. Well, then that would be super fun to meet another plane geek that you were also interested in romantically.

Well, yeah, and like I said, it just kind of shocked me because it's a rare find. I mean, I'm kind of weird in that way. So it was really fun to hang out and be able to talk and she was interested as well and just kind of made it a very probably the best first date I've ever had. And the other thing,

I mean, we got along great but she is just so beautiful. Like, I am really, really attracted to Brennan, but not, not even just like, I mean, yeah,

her, her body is amazing. There was something way deeper. I mean, the feeling I had was like, I want to get off the dating apps after having met her. Wow. Okay.

That's how you know. Did you tell her that after the first date? Cause that might've been too much. No, I mean, there was a kiss, but no but no i i didn't tell her all that stuff did seem like she wanted to make plans for later on yeah she was like i said hey you know i'll be in touch and we'll do something she's like yeah great please you know go ahead

and contact me and i thought okay this is this is really happening and it just the date ended up on a really high note and I thought everything was good. And she said, follow up in a few days, but I don't know now, now that I'm not hearing from her, I'm just, I don't know. I'm, I'm assuming I did something wrong. Like I, because I get all giddy about airplanes. I mean, I was probably just talking way too much. Okay. So you think the reason that you're not getting a call back, maybe you were talking too much. Well, and then I realized when I got home, I had this grease stain on my pants near, it's an unfortunate spot. And I just thought maybe if she saw that, she got the wrong idea.

Like maybe this guy really likes planes like a lot. Well, you know, I got home, it was just really embarrassing. And then she doesn't call me back. And I'm like, oh, great. I mean, that would, I got home. It was just really embarrassing. And then she doesn't call me back. And I'm like, oh, great. I mean, that would be embarrassing. Right. But like, I don't think that's something to not call someone back for. Yeah, I don't know.

I mean, this stain kind of, you know, where it was and how it looked. It was pretty bad. I mean, trust me, if you saw it, you might not call me back either. All right. So maybe it was a stain on the pants. Maybe you were just a little too giddy about planes. Well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you. We'll play a song, come back, and then call her and get your first day follow-up next.

In the middle of your first day follow-up, if you're just joining us, Greg is on the phone, and Greg isn't getting a call back from Brennan, and he thinks it might be because of a stain on his pants. A really bad-placed and bad-looking stain on his pants, a really bad placed and bad looking stain on his pants. And in case you missed the first part, he told us that he took Brandon to eat by the airport. He also took her on a tour of an airport airplane hangar where they park all the airplanes because he knows a few people. And he's been a plane geek his entire life. He was also excited to find out that Brandon was also a plane geek. That's a big bonus. Right.

And so they bonded over that. And he said the date went really good. He had a kiss after, but now she's not calling back and he doesn't know why. The other reason that he thought he's not getting a call back could be because he felt he was way too excited to see the planes and maybe that was a turnoff. Is that a pretty fair assessment, Greg? Yep. You kind of nailed it right there. All right. We'll see if we can figure it out for you. Hey, what's up, Brennan? How are you? My name is Jubal, and I'm calling from a radio show called The Jubal Show. And I'm Alex, calling from The Jubal Show. I don't know if you're busy or not, but we're calling you because we got an email about you from one of our listeners, and we wanted to call and talk to you about that. Okay.

We do a segment on our show called The First Date Follow-Up. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened. We got an email about you from a dude named Greg that you went on a date with.

Mm-hmm. Okay, yeah, I did. It was a really good date. So why didn't you call him back? Well, I liked him a lot, but I just felt like he was a little bit childish, you know, a little bit childish for my taste. Childish? So he's just immature for you. That's it?

Yeah. In like what way? Well, he kept talking about planes and other than that, that was really good we talked about other things but like 80 of the conversation and he just got like super like gay and immature like how a child may be right airplane for the first time um but it was cute at first but then he got just like all right can we like pull it back a little bit okay so he was just too excited about planes for you? It was just too childish. Yeah, I mean, it was cute for a little bit,

but it was too long. Like, it kept going on and on and on, and I'm like, okay. Okay, well, he said that you also liked planes. I actually lied about being into planes. Oh. You lied to go on a date with them or what? Yeah.

But, like, why? Why? Well, he was just so into it, You lied to go on a date with them or what? Yeah. But like what? Why? Well, he was just so into it. And I really liked him otherwise. So I didn't want it to be awkward. But now I just felt like I was just too deep into the lie. So I just. I think on a first date you can do that, right? If you just own up to it.

And then don't lie again after that. Yeah. Right? But you do it. You own up to it. And you go, hey, so I thought you were cute so i kind of told you something about planes that isn't true but hey like teach me a little bit about him yeah but he's just so into it i feel like it'll crush him okay so you don't like him now though after your

date no i like him otherwise more like it was a cool date. I still like him, but he's really into planes and I'm not. You guys can have different hobbies and interests. Yeah, well, that's what it is. Okay. Is there anything else I can help you guys with? Greg is actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.

Wait, what? You've been on the phone this entire time? Yeah. I've been here. I heard what you said. You had a good time when we went out. I mean, mostly, right? Yeah, I did, for the most part. I'm a little embarrassed.

I mean, I could kind of tell you weren't as into planes as I was because you didn't really know a lot of the stuff I was talking about, did you? No. It's cool. I could tell, but I don't care if you don't like planes, actually. Really? See, he's understanding. Yeah.

I mean, that's definitely not a reason to ghost me. Just say, dude, I'm not into planes. I'm totally cool with that. Besides, I would love to teach you if you wanted to learn a couple things about planes yeah i really just don't have interest in planes i'm flying somewhere or you know vacationing or traveling well look i mean i really really like spending time with you and i i did hear what you said about me being giddy and whatever and i don't know,

is that, is that just about the planes or is that just kind of a take on me? It was the planes because I didn't really know much about the planes, but I did enjoy our time and I apologize for, I'm not getting back to you. So you don't, you don't sound like you did on our date you don't sound like happy like you were is there something else that's wrong okay yeah there is something that's bothering me this is just the weirdest time for this phone call so um yeah is there anything that maybe you know that i can do for you like when we went out you were, upbeat and had a lot of energy. You just don't sound like yourself today. No, that's sweet,

but I don't think there's anything you can do for me. Well, I mean, you sound so down. And, I mean, I would like to see you again, but I hope everything's okay. Okay, look, I'm just going to be honest, Greg. I just found out I'm pregnant.

Oh! Whoa. Girlfriend! Isn't it Greg's? Oh, no. No, that's definitely not mine. We did not go that far. When you say you just found out you're pregnant, when do you mean?

Like, just right now? Literally. I just got back from the doctor. Whoa, okay. So that throws a little wrench into the works. Would you like to go on another date with Greg? We'll pay for it. Yeah, I think that's going to be kind of difficult now. Yeah, maybe. I'll admit, I think that's going to be kind of difficult now. Yeah, maybe. I'll admit, I'm good. Okay.

Well, I guess you were not calling Greg back at first because you lied to him about being into planes, but it sounds like you have a lot of other things to think about right now other than dating Greg Brennan. So we'll let you go, and good luck. Take care of everything. Maybe down the road you guys could go out again though, you know, at some point. Yep. If it doesn't work out for some weird reason,

I'll hit you up, Greg. Well, I mean, honestly, I don't have a problem dating a woman with a child. So I don't know. When you figure everything out, sure, hit me up. Okay. That's a successful first date follow-up, I think.
