It's time for your brand new first date follow-up,
Starting point is 00:01:58 and Mo is on the phone today. She's not getting a call back from a dude named William. Bummer. And we're about to find out why she thinks Billiam isn't calling her back and see if we can get her another date with old Willie boy. I've got a lot of different names for William. So get used to it. Mo, did the dude you went out with who's not calling you back now,
Starting point is 00:02:15 does he go by any of those other names, Billiam or Willie boy? He was just William. Just William. We'll call him William. How long has it been since your date with Will.i.am? Well, like two weeks ago. Two weeks, okay. And how many times have you tried to reach out to him?
Starting point is 00:02:33 I stopped after four. Okay. Okay, and you've heard nothing? Not a thing. Wow. Not a thing. Rough. All right, well, tell us a little bit about your date.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Okay, well, we met on Tinder. Okay. And so we kept things on Tinder for quite a while because, you know, there's a lot of wackadoodles out there. So, you know, we kept for a couple of weeks just, you know, going back and forth before we got to text messaging and phone calls. And, you know, just took it real slow. And after a couple of months of text messaging and phone calling, he invited me to go on a date to go mini golfing. Okay. That's fun. So, yeah. So, you know, it was, the day went really well. You know, we had a lot of fun. We had a couple of drinks, we played a couple of rounds and, um, you know, we both had a lot of tattoos. So that was kind of cool. That was one thing that we noticed right away from from, you know, when we first reached out to each other that we had something in common. So we were checking out each other's tattoos, so that was pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:03:30 But it was a little embarrassing at Fools, a lot embarrassing. I offered to pay, and my debit card was declined. I'm thinking maybe that's why he's ghosting me because he's but you know it's like you know you forget to make that deposit from your savings account into your checking account you know i don't know if he thinks i'm like you know a loser or something i think but that's why i think he's ghosting me i mean did he end up having to pay yeah oh okay so what did you say to him when your card was declined? Did you explain what was going
Starting point is 00:04:07 on? Did he just, like, jump in and offer to pay? I tried to explain to him, and I said, you know, I'll reach out to my bank and get things squared away, and he said, no, it's fine, I'll take care of it. I mean, yeah, what's he going to do, sit there and wait for you to wait on hold to talk to a rep?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Let me just take care of it. It's okay, I got it. But that's not really a reason to ghost somebody, is it? I mean, did he seem like it bothered him? Kind of, but I think he was being gentlemanly, you know? But I think that you could see a little bit of like, what the heck, you know? So how did things go after that? I mean, after he paid and you guys got everything you needed,
Starting point is 00:04:46 how... Did you guys do anything after that? No, no. No, that was it. We walked back to where the cars were and he gave me a hug and I kind of went in for the kiss and he kind of pulled back
Starting point is 00:04:59 and that was that. Oh, man. Oh, really? That hurts. So he pulled back. Okay. There was no other point, though, during the date that you can remember maybe something that you said or that was awkward that may be the reason why. I've been picking my brains.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I can't think of anything other than the debit card thing. I thought it went really well. I thought we got along really well. We had a lot in common. And now we just want to know why. Yeah. I'm so crushed because, you know, we got along so well when we were texting and calling. And I really thought we were building this really good foundation.
Starting point is 00:05:31 I mean, I'm looking for something long term and I thought I found it. So I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm so sad. Well, that makes me think that, I mean, you met on Tinder, right? Yeah. So if you're looking for something long term. Yeah. Were you like kind of for something long term, Yeah. Were you kind of like a stage five clinger? I hate to ask. Oh, could be.
Starting point is 00:05:52 I don't think so. I mean, to think about just meeting him and saying that you think that it could potentially be the one. But maybe she had that much fun and he could be the one. Yeah. I mean, how many times have you heard somebody say, when you know, you know? Exactly. I got you, girl. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Well, we'll play a song, come back and then call him and see if we can figure out if it is the fact that your card got declined or we'll see if it's something else and try to get you another date with the man of your dreams
Starting point is 00:06:14 coming up next, okay? Thank you. All right, we'll play a song, come back and get your first date follow-up right after this. In the middle of your first date follow-up,
Starting point is 00:06:21 if you're just joining us, Mo is on the phone and Mo is getting ghosted by a dude named William. They went mini-golfing, and she had a great time. She actually is looking for a long-term boyfriend. Someone that can maybe turn into more of a boyfriend, maybe a husband. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Maybe. But anyway, she's looking for something serious. She did meet him on Tinder, so that's already mistake number one for something serious. But they went mini-golfing, and she said they had a great time except at the end of the date her card got declined and she was embarrassed because she wasn't able to pay for it he did pay but she thinks maybe it looks like she faked it so that he had to pay the whole bill when actually she just forgot to pay her credit card bill and her card got declined i don't know if that's really a reason to not call somebody back if you think that they faked it though definitely if you think they're trying to get over on you like that.
Starting point is 00:07:06 So maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. We're about to find out, though, because we're about to call him and see if that is the reason that he's not calling Mo back. All right, Mo, are you ready to go? I am. For sure. We're going to call him right now. Okay, here we go. Hello? Hey, is this William?
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yeah, speaking. How are you? I'm doing okay. Who is this? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. It's a radio show. This is Alex from The Jubal Show. It's the same radio show.
Starting point is 00:07:40 This is Christian Gray Snow from The Jubal Show. It's also the same radio show. This is Bennett from a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. It's the same. I think it's the same. It's it's also the same radio show. This is Bennett from a radio show. It's called the Jubal Show. It's the same. I think it's the same. It's something like that. It's a radio show called the Jubal Show. So I'm William from the Jubal Show. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:07:53 Right now, yes, you are. You're quick. I like it. Yeah, seriously. Pass the vibe check. William, we're calling you today because we got an email about you from somebody who listens to the show. Do you have a minute to speak with us? Yeah. An email from who? I do. Well, we do a segment on our show and it's called the First Date Follow-Up.
Starting point is 00:08:14 It's where if you go out on a date with someone and then you end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and ask why. And we got an email about you from somebody that you went on a date with. Okay, you're going to have to give me a name because I went on several dates. Oh, he's booked and busy. Wow, William. Yeah, I'm just trying to stay busy.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Okay, well, then give us the name of who you've been ghosting. Give us the name of someone that you've been ghosting. We'll tell you if that's the person that emailed us or if it's someone else. Well, the one that probably comes to mind, because the other few were kind of okay, they were normal. Moe was one. May have been the one that had emailed me if she could actually find her email.
Starting point is 00:08:56 If she could find her email, okay. I will bet a week's pay, because I'm working, If she's not, I will bet it's Mo. Okay, you bet a week's pay that it's Mo. I'm not taking that bet. That's a sucker's bet. It is Mo. Mo emailed us and asked if we could call you and find out why you're not calling her back after your date. She did.
Starting point is 00:09:16 It sounds like you didn't really have a great date with Mo the way that you were just talking about it right there. Well, you know, if you want to put maybe chaos in that, that's kind of like what the date resembled. Oh, chaos. You know, I talked to her for a couple of months on the phone. Everything's going cool. And then we met.
Starting point is 00:09:34 And, man, it was like the red flags just kind of kept popping up. She's just, I don't know, major ADHD. I don't know what the heck it is. It's just cold focus. Well, what do you mean? Like, what was you mean? Like, what was she, what was she doing when you guys were together?
Starting point is 00:09:48 Oh, well, we could get this. She's, you know, sitting at the table fidgeting with this and that and drop their phone. And then, you know, her purse opens up and the keys fall out.
Starting point is 00:09:56 And it was like every 30 seconds, something's happening. And then, you know, one of the kickers was she goes to the lady room, ladies room and comes back and sits at the wrong table. What? Yeah, she's sitting at the table.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I'm going, hey, Mo, I'm over here. She goes, oh, I thought you went up and went to the men's room. Oh, she's like cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. What? You know, I don't think she can't pay attention in general. I don't, you know, I think it's just a normal activity for her. It drives you crazy because you can't focus on anything conversation goes all over the board
Starting point is 00:10:29 maybe she was just really nervous yeah she wasn't nervous she was just loud and proud and making a spectacle of herself in the restaurant so you just feel like she wasn't paying attention enough to you yeah it wasn't me I think that's just the way she wasn't paying attention enough to you? Yeah, it wasn't me. I think that's just the way she is. I think she's just all over the board.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Credit card got declined. Okay. She did tell us about that. She thought that might be the reason you're not calling her back because her credit card got declined. No, you know, no, and I get that. It does happen with people. But then she starts making up a bunch of stories that got stolen and one thing led to another. And, you know, I agree to pay for it.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I'm okay with that. Yeah. But it just was one thing after another. And I'm just not interested in dating a basket case. Oh, my gosh. Wait a minute. I didn't even have a basket. What are you talking about, William?
Starting point is 00:11:22 Hey, what was that? That. It's me. It's Mo. Yeah, that was Mo. Mo was actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you. And I don't think he meant that you had a basket with you, Mo. Yeah, I don't think that was what he was talking about. Wait, no. I didn't have a basket.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Mo. Mo. I said basket case. No, I didn't have a basket. I didn't have a case. I didn't even have a briefcase or anything. I don't get it. Girl. What that means is you're messy. Well, maybe I'm not like prissy all buttoned up or anything.
Starting point is 00:11:56 I mean, it's just like okay normal. I'm not messy. I mean, I've got really good hygiene. I mean, I bathe all the proper nooks and crannies before I bathe. Mo, you know what? I didn't mean, like, you know, basket case. You've got to understand what a basket case is.
Starting point is 00:12:13 You ever see the Tasmanian devil? They're spinning all over the place. You can't focus. You can't, you know, you can't put your thoughts together. Maybe you just can't keep up with my thoughts. Ooh. You know what? I need a bunch of Adderall to keep up with your thoughts together. Maybe you just can't keep up with my thoughts. You know what? I need a bunch of Adderall to keep up.
Starting point is 00:12:30 You could have some of mine. So like you're saying, you thought I was like Dixie or something. No, you know, Dixie is actually pretty good. I mean, for,
Starting point is 00:12:41 for what I encountered with you, you know, I mean, Dixie is kind of like maybe up a couple notches there. Nothing personal, but you couldn't stay on track at all. Well, you know what? Like Marilyn Monroe said, if you can't handle me at my best, you don't get me at my worst. Is that what she said?
Starting point is 00:12:59 Things might be a little backwards. That is, yeah. She didn't say that. Girlfriend. Hey, you know what? That kind of sucks for me. Marilyn Monroe also said
Starting point is 00:13:09 some like it hot and you're not. Sorry. Rude. Whoa. Oh, no. You didn't have to go there. Come on.
Starting point is 00:13:19 You could have just let her have her little Marilyn Monroe moment. Well, that was rude. Yeah, it was. Well, I'll sell away and go half pint. Oh, half was rude. Yeah, it was. Well, I'll sell a Wago half pint. Oh, half pint?
Starting point is 00:13:27 Here we go. You know, I might be kind of ditzy, but I can get organized, and you're always going to be short. Mic drop. That's a low blow. Sorry. Oh, yeah. You know what?
Starting point is 00:13:41 You would know about low blows, because you've got to look up to see down. That's how short you are. All right. oh yeah you know what you would know about low blows because you gotta look up to see down all right well i'm gonna ask the question anyway and see if if we get a yes on it but uh william would you like to go out with mo again on another date we'll pay for it is that a serious question i mean not really yeah you guys? I'm going to have to pass on this one. Big time. Oh, man. Man, I thought it was a match made in heaven. Yeah, me too. Pass what?
