The Jubal Show on demand.
First date follow-up.
This is on the phone for a first date follow-up today.
He's not getting a call back from a date that he went on with a woman named Rona.
And he has no idea why, so we're about to see if we can help him out.
What's up, Lewis? How are you?
Hey, good, guys. Yeah, no calls, no texts.
And I'm pretty desperate to find out why, at the very least.
Okay. How long has it been since you talked, or since you went out with Rona?
It's been about 10 days.
How many times have you tried to get a hold of her in that 10 days?
I mean, call every other day, text her five.
Text or five a day or total?
Yeah, total.
Okay.
Okay. That's not too bad in 10 days, maybe.
So two texts and...
Three calls?
It's not too bad if you get an answer back.
That's true.
Why do you think she's ghosting you?
Tell us about the date first, and then we'll see if we can figure out why.
I'm a bad dater.
Let's just get that out of the way.
I'm not good at it.
Okay.
So, like, maybe a little bit self-sabotaging.
Like, I decide ahead of time it's not going to go well, and it never does.
If you think it's going to go badly, most likely it will.
So, right off the bat, you know, I'm in my head. I know this isn't going to go well. So, will so right off the bat you know i'm in my head i know
this isn't going to go well so i don't even go home and change i just go right to the coffee
shop and my work polo and khakis like a gentleman but it did go well we had like a lot of fun we had
a couple cups of coffee and and it was great it was okay so you thought the date was good even
though you were sure it was going to be a tragedy. It started good, and then we moved to alcohol, maybe.
Okay.
I know a place that serves alcohol,
and they got like a nine-hole mini golf course out back.
And, you know, I mean, is it being over-served if you ask for it?
I don't know, but I know these guys.
And so, like, you know, we played some mini golf,
and maybe, I don't know, maybe it was that, uh, that's, that's all I can think of. So it was the mini golf or it was being
over-served and being drunk. I might've been a little slurry at some points and that's what I
worry about. How much of the date do you remember then? Were you that, were you drunk enough to not
remember a lot of it? Okay. Well, if you guys are going to hold me to a point, there was a point
where stuff started to back up
on me, and
maybe the bathroom was a little too far
away, and the bushes were a little more
available, and I did
puke on myself just a little bit, but I
got it cleaned up, and I don't
think she saw. I'm pretty sure she didn't see that,
but if she did...
I love the way you put that. The bushes
were more available.
That's a great way to put it.
At a certain point, it all becomes inevitable,
and you know it's going to happen there whether you hide or not.
Right.
Okay.
That's true.
But you don't think she saw you puke on yourself a little bit?
I don't think she saw it.
It would have been a hard line of sight.
Okay.
Did your shirt have, like, puke on it?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I went to the bathroom after that, and it was a full cleanup situation.
And, yeah, yeah, it was all good.
What about breath, though?
Because vomit breath is a real thing.
I didn't think about that.
Hey, you're talking to a gentleman here.
I carry mints at all times.
Okay.
I was just asking.
So you're thinking maybe it was just the fact that you got a little drunk,
or a lot drunk, sounds like, like, that she's ghosting you.
We were having a good time.
Just maybe, you know, I feel like maybe I dressed to under impress.
And I don't know if she was checking out other guys on the golf course or if it was just my imagination.
But, you know, and then, yeah, there was a little bit of a situation in the bushes.
Okay. All right.
And so do you remember the end of the date?
Yeah, yeah.
We parted on good terms, I thought.
And I did not.
I had the breath worry.
And so I did not go for any sort of goodnight kiss or anything.
But, you know, we parted on good terms, I felt.
Yeah, and I specifically remember she said, that was fun.
I can't wait to do this again sometime.
Okay.
All right.
Maybe she likes a guy who's not scared
to puke on a shirt in public, you know?
Yeah.
Likes him wild.
Yeah, well, hopefully she didn't see the incident
because that's not reflective of who I am, really.
All right.
All right.
Well, we'll see if we can find out.
We'll play a song, come back, and then call her,
see if she'll tell us why she's not calling you back
and maybe get you another date if you still want one after you hear it, okay?
Awesome. Thank you.
We'll get your first date follow-up next.
In the middle of your first date follow-up, if you're just joining us,
Louis is on the phone, and he went on a date with Rona,
and it's been 10 days, and he's not getting a call back,
and he has no idea why.
Except maybe he got too drunk.
That's what he's thinking.
He met up with Rona after
work one day. It was a bar where they
have mini golf and he was
drinking a bunch and they were playing mini golf. He said
the date was great. The
only thing that she might have seen that she
might not have been into was he might
have, well he did, puke on his shirt a little bit.
And he's not sure if Rona saw
that. Maybe that's the reason she's not calling him back.
But Louis, you swear that at the end of the date, she said she wanted to see you again?
Yeah, yeah.
When we were leaving mini golf, she said, this is a lot of fun.
Let's do it again sometime.
All right.
We'll see if we can figure out why she's ghosting you then.
Are you ready to call her?
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, let's do it.
All right.
I'm a dollar from her right now.
Here we go.
Hello?
Hey, what's up? Can I speak to Rona, please?
This is her.
Hey, Rona, how are you? My name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And my name is Victoria from The Jubal Show.
I'm Christian Gray Snow, also from The Jubal Show.
Hi.
How are you?
I'm good. Why, also from the Jubal Show. Hi. How are you? I'm good.
Why are you guys calling me?
Well, we're calling you today because we actually got an email about you from one of our listeners,
and we want to talk to you for a minute, if you have a minute.
Okay, I guess.
Yeah.
Okay.
Do you have any idea why we would have a listener email about you?
Is this one of those second date things,
like the ghosted thing?
Have you ghosted anyone recently?
That's what I was going to ask.
Well, I don't know if it would technically be a ghosting.
I just haven't returned his calls.
That's technically a ghosting.
That's a ghost.
Exactly what that is.
Who do you think it might be?
Is it Louis?
It is Louis.
Louis emailed us and told us he really liked you, but you've been ghosting him for 10 days now, and he doesn't know why.
Would you mind telling us?
Oh, my God.
Yeah, okay.
Okay.
I guess.
Awesome.
Thank you.
So why aren't you calling Louis back?
He told us about your date.
He said that he thought you guys had a great time.
Yeah, it started out good.
We got coffee first, and it felt like there was chemistry,
and he seemed like a nice guy.
And then we went and did drinks and mini golf,
and it just kind of went south.
He was talking so much crap, and he was really intense
and taking it super, super seriously seriously and it was like dude it's
mini golf this is supposed to be fun i just feel like he was like really loud and every time he
like did well he'd be like yeah like look around and he's just like yelling and i was like oh my
god like and then like when i would mess up he'd be like you you suck! Like, which is very... Oh my god. Did you say that?
Yeah, like, but I think he was joking.
Like, you know, it didn't seem like me
in spirit. He just was like
way more into it than I was.
Do you think he could have been hammered?
You know,
we had some drinks and I was
like, well, I mean, I don't know him super well. Maybe
he, like, has a really high tolerance, but
he was definitely, like, putting him back. don't know him super well. Maybe he like has a really high tolerance, but he was definitely like putting him back.
That's why I was hammered.
Like maybe he's not always that way, but maybe he was just, you know, really filling himself in the alcohol.
And that's why he was so competitive.
I don't know.
It was just like too much.
You know what I mean?
Like it started out so good.
And then it just kind of like he just was so intense and like just taking everything too too seriously i
don't know i mean if he was that drunk on a work night it feels like kind of a red flag you know
like what's going on man why are you well i mean you know there's drunk and then there's like puke
on your shirt drunk how drunk did he was uh why do you keep using that as an example is that like
something someone's done yeah oh yeah Oh, yeah, it happens.
You know, when people get real drunk, sometimes they'll pee on their shirt.
So that's why I use it as an example.
No specific reason, really.
Like, it's not like Lewis puked on his shirt, right?
You didn't see that.
He puked on his shirt?
I didn't say that.
We weren't there. As a matter of fact, I said he didn't.
How would we know?
Yeah.
Guys, I thought you were going to be cool about the shirt thing.
Oh, by the way rona lewis
is actually on the phone listening yep hey you guys figured out she didn't she didn't see it
so let's just leave it at that how about that you puked on your shirt no i said he didn't yes we
weren't there uh let me can i start out by apologizing i'm sorry uh for for being too loud too much too
intense i i apologize wait did you did you really puke on your shirt though
well yeah yes to a certain extent but uh i mean if you couldn't tell i obviously cleaned it up
pretty well so you do have to give it to him he must have done a good job of cleaning it
not that we're saying he did it but you know um wow okay good job now that we got that out of the
way uh a couple points just a couple points in my defense uh wednesday is my is my friday
so you know it was it was it's a work day day, but it was kind of an unwinding day for me.
And I do have to admit, I hit three hole-in-ones on the first four holes.
So I kind of, five through nine, I maybe was a little bit too intensely into it.
I do apologize.
And if I said you suck, I was trying to be motivating in my own stupid way.
I'm so sorry.
Yeah, I mean, I can tell you're just like, maybe you're just like a really competitive person.
I guess I just like we were having such a good time at coffee, and then I feel like it just like got out of hand.
Yeah, and it's not really representative of who I am.
I'm not that competitive.
I just I probably was more drunk than you realize I was.
Yeah,
no,
I didn't realize.
I mean,
not till now.
I didn't think you were like puke on your shirt drunk.
I thought you were just like tipsy.
And again,
most,
most of it went into the bushes,
just a little shirt splatter.
It was,
you know,
incidental.
Oh my God.
That's what you were doing.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Sorry.
I,
you were like,
Oh,
I was just looking for my ball,
but like I should have,
your ball wasn't over there,
but you were looking in the bushes and now I know why.
And then you ran into the bathroom and I was like,
that's weird,
but okay.
He really did a good job of pulling us off.
I have to say.
Yeah.
And,
uh,
again,
Ron,
I'm real sorry about the whole situation.
Uh, and I really, I had so much fun with you, the coffee shop and dinner. I again, I'm real sorry about the whole situation.
And I really I had so much fun with you, the coffee shop and dinner. I just I was hoping, you know, maybe we could forgive and forget and move on and forget about the puke on the shirt.
I mean, I don't think I should forget about it.
Hey, if she forgets about the puke on the shirt, she has to get about those four hole in ones, too.
You guys can stop bringing the shirt up, please.
No, for real.
Stop.
Rona, I really did like you.
Any chance of seeing you again?
Rona, would you like to go out with Lewis on another date?
We'll pay for it.
I mean, this has been crazy.
So, sure, why not?
But no drinking and no mini golf.
I was going to say.
She's calling the shots.
That's congratulations,
Louis.
You got a second date.
Yeah.
Okay.
Uh,
maybe laser tag.
Oh my God.
Maybe something that doesn't involve a game.
Yeah.
Maybe just dinner.
I'll let you pick.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I want to get to know you a little better and make sure you're serious about
this whole,
like,
this isn't who I really am thing.
Cause if it is, I'm gone.
I mean,
I have puked on my heels before.
So, I'm willing to
overlook the shirt thing as long as it's not, like,
a regular. Yeah.
Well, congratulations,
Lewis. You got another date.
Excellent. Thank you, guys. Yay. Y'all have fun.
