Starting point is 00:01:53 Ian is on the phone today for a first date follow up and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Susanna and he's hoping that we can get him another date. Are you hoping we can get you another date, Ian, or do you just want to find out why you got ghosted? A little bit of both, to be perfectly honest. I think that's fair. I mean, if we can work something out, I'd definitely like to see her again. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Well, before you tell us about the date with Suzanne, how long has it been since you talked to her? It's been a while. It's been over a week for sure. All right. And how many times have you reached out to her in over a week for sure? I've called her twice, and I've texted her once and I'm just not getting anything back. Well, tell us about the date.
Starting point is 00:02:30 We'll see if we can figure it out. Basically, like, you know, we met on Tinder and, you know, I first things first, I thought that she was absolutely gorgeous. And then I read that she was really into sci-fi movies just like me, you know, a bit of a nerd, just like me. So I was like, this is a dream come true. So I immediately swiped.
Starting point is 00:02:47 And we started, you know, talking on the phone pretty much every day for like two weeks. And no lie, we were talking on the phone and having a great time getting to know each other. And a few times we literally were talking on the phone until we were falling asleep. Like teenagers. So things were just going great and then finally we agreed to meet for dinner and uh i thought things were going okay and then she started feeling a little you know woozy a little she was acting a little weird like she was kind of under the weather and she says she wasn't feeling good so i walked her back to her car and and we called her tonight and um i tried to get in touch with her to make sure she got home okay but she never responded and i haven't
Starting point is 00:03:31 heard from her since when you say woozy what do you mean by that exactly like you guys weren't drinking right no not yet i mean i wouldn't be object to have a couple of drinks that night but we hadn't had anything like that yet okay Okay. So you weren't even drinking. She just started feeling woozy, went to her car, and then that was it. Yeah. She just, you know, she says she wasn't feeling well and she thought she needed to go home and we hugged and parted ways. And, you know, obviously I wanted to make sure she got home safe. So that's why I called her, but I literally have not heard from her since. So I'm wondering, did I do something wrong or is she okay? I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:04:09 What were you talking about, if you can remember, before she bounced out of there? Oh, the same things that we had on our phone conversations. We were talking about movies. We were talking about sci-fi stuff. You know, we were making each other laugh a lot. She's really funny and she found me really funny too. So I thought things were going good. Okay. So nothing that you could think of that would be, you know, what I'm getting at is, do you think she faked it because something was wrong? Yeah. I don't have many guy friends.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I do have lots of girlfriends though, and I'm willing to bet money and possibly my life that she just deserved or earned an Academy award because she definitely faked that we certainly watch a lot of movies so she probably had a few good pointers if you're correct yeah and i'm not even trying to be rude i just think that for it to out of nowhere for her to get sick like that like usually if someone's really actually sick like you got a thing like you lose color in your face you know like you you you might break out in a sweat you know the room starts spinning you don't really really don't feel well you know if someone is actually sick or not. The first thing she should do is update you and tell you that she's good to go.
Starting point is 00:05:10 That's just it. I'm so much in the dark here because, like I said, we had been getting along on the phone very, very well. The date, at least from what I saw, seemed to be going really well. And then it just, poof, gone. I don't know because I thought this was a dream come true kind of girl. Every phone call we had was like we were in la-la land. It was perfect.
Starting point is 00:05:31 I think it had to be either something in the conversation that you said, an opinion that you had, a belief that you had. It couldn't have just been a one-off statement. It had to be something definitive that she felt like, okay, there's no coming back from that. Yeah. I just don't know. I mean, I don't know what it could be. I mean, she was laughing. We were having a good time and I, I just don't know what it could be.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Okay. I mean, I want, I want to find out now. I'm really curious. So we'll play a song, come back and then call her and see if we can figure it out and if you still want a second date try to get you another one okay all right thank you so much all right man hang on we'll play a song come back get your first date follow-up right after this right in the middle of today's first date follow-up and i'm really curious why ian who's on the phone right now to find out why he's getting ghosted by suzanna is getting ghosted because his story is an interesting one normally people have kind of a guess about why he's getting ghosted by Susanna is getting ghosted because his story is an interesting one.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Normally, people have kind of a guess about why they're getting ghosted, but Ian doesn't have any idea. So we're about to call Susanna and see if we can figure it out for him. Ian, real quick, catch everybody up. What happened on your date? On the phone. And then when we went on the date, everything, from my point of view, seemed to be going well. We were laughing. We were enjoying each other's company, having a good time.
Starting point is 00:06:45 And then she just started acting funny. She said she wasn't feeling well, like she was getting sick. And I took her to her car. She went home, and that was literally the last I heard from her. I've been trying to get a hold of her to see if she's okay, but I just have no idea what went wrong. And it's been over a week, right, since you've heard from her? Over a week, yeah. I'm going to call her right now.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Are you ready, Ian? Please, yes. All right, here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Susanna, please? This is Pete. Hey, Susanna, how are you? This is the Jubal Show.
Starting point is 00:07:26 My name is Jubal. I'm here with three other people. They're also on the Jubal Show. Yeah, I listen to you guys. Hi. What in the world? You do? Sweet.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Okay. Well, if you listen to us, then I don't know when you listen or what you hear a lot, but have you heard a first aid follow-up before? Oh, my God. Yes. Yes. That's why we're calling. We got an email about you from one of our listeners and you are ghosting them and they want to know why.
Starting point is 00:07:52 This cannot be real. It's real. Is it about Ian? Yes, it is about Ian. Ian emailed us and he told us about your date. He said he really liked you. He thought you guys were connecting. He thought your connection was really special. He said you guys met on Tinder and we talked for hours on the phone.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And then you met up for a date and said that you got sick and left pretty much right away. And he hasn't heard from you. So he's wondering what's up. I don't know why you guys are calling me on the radio. This is probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. That date especially. So I feel like follow-up is kind of perfect um yeah i know exactly what he's talking about and um firstly like yeah i'm really glad to hear that he was like had a connection because i felt that too like he did he's yeah I really like Ian, actually. He's really cute, and we like a lot of the same movies.
Starting point is 00:08:46 He's really funny. And that's kind of, I don't know how much of the story I really want to share, but, like, I guess I will share with you guys that, I don't know if you've talked with Ian already, but, like, he's very funny. He's, like, a really funny guy. We did talk to him, and he was cracking me up. He has a vibe that, I don't know if it like reminded me of that scene in Napoleon Dynamite when they're like throwing the action figure outside the back end of the bus.
Starting point is 00:09:12 But he's got like such a tone about him that I don't know. We laughed. We laughed a lot. And so we did. We finally had dinner. We were having a really good time. And I, um, I accidentally peed myself. I peed myself.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Are you serious? Not a lot. I am. I am. That's why I can't leave your calling. I did. That's not even that bad. No, it wasn't like a lot, but it wasn't a little either.
Starting point is 00:09:39 It was totally noticeable. I know that the waitress probably had to wipe up after I left. It's one thing and I did not know what to to do we were laughing and i just defaulted i just defaulted to like i'm sick and i have to go asap get me out of here like abort abort abort oh my gosh i'm guessing you peed yourself because he was making you laugh maybe you might have already had to pee or something but then he made you laugh right no yeah we were talking about like our favorite like space balls and like different sites but like sci-fi movies that have had kind of like a funny flair to them and just I hadn't laughed that long in a long time and I wasn't prepared for it at all like I didn't have a bag or a change of clothes or anything I was just really
Starting point is 00:10:19 unprepared and so I you know I noticed Ian is so nice I didn't want to like ruin what was a really great date and so yeah I just was too embarrassed to even mention it or apologize or explain or anything and just went out to my car oh I would stay what yeah no like I was playing it out in my mind like what if he reached around like for our kiss at the end of the night and I was soggy like a baby. I couldn't. I just collapsed. I couldn't. It's not cute or sexy or anything.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So yeah, I haven't been able to call him back yet. If I was on a date and I made someone laugh so much that they peed their pants, that would make me feel like a king. Yeah, I'm proposing on the spot. I don't know. I don't know. I don't even know if that's okay. I don't even know if that's normal. We should find out.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I just, yeah, I wasn't prepared and I'm still not prepared. Ian is on the other line. He's been listening this whole time. And I wonder how he feels about the situation. Ian? Hi, Susanna. Hi. Hi, Ian. So, first things first,
Starting point is 00:11:34 I'm glad you're okay. I'm glad you're not sick. But, um, can I just say real quick, I understand your embarrassment. I really, really do. I just wish you would have let me know you were okay for one time.
Starting point is 00:11:48 I can't even. I can't even. I can't even. Somebody grab a towel. I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I just, it was, I didn't have a teacher close. But you're right. I should so sorry. I just, it was, I didn't have a teacher close.
Starting point is 00:12:06 And, but you're right. I should have apologized. Well, Susanna, you know, you're nothing to be embarrassed about. I'll tell you what, if you go on a second date with me, I'll take you to Niagara Falls. I'm sure that'll help the situation. You know, you know, we can, we can get something to drink by the water fountain. And a push comes to show, you know, we love sci-fi get something to drink by the water fountain and a push comes to show, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:26 we, we love sci-fi so I can get you one of those spacesuits that's recycles the year. He's embracing it. Matt has got some great diapers. You have no idea. Right. We could survive.
Starting point is 00:12:40 We could survive. Here's the thing. If the worst situation we've had yet is you laughing to the point that you pee yourself because of me, it sounds silly, but I'm perfectly okay with that. You're, you're,
Starting point is 00:12:53 you're so worth any, any silliness like this. I really, really, you know, if we can do something, I can assure you, this is not a regular thing and i really don't know like what
Starting point is 00:13:06 is happening but um but yeah i mean if that's the worst thing then i guess that's a good thing right i just need like some depends look i like you so much you can pee yourself on any date i don't care you know we could be at the movie theater we could be at the beach i don't care. You know, we could be at the movie theater. We could be at the beach. I don't care. I like you that much. Okay. Oh, okay. Well, I, I don't necessarily think we should do the radio next time or tell everybody, but, um, but yeah, I, I would be down for a second date just because, I mean, we've come this far. Okay. Let me officially ask the question then, Susanna, would you like to go on another date with Ian?
Starting point is 00:13:45 We'll pay for it. Yes, yes, I would. Yeah, all right. Well, congratulations. And I'll tell you what, just to kind of even the playing field, on the next date, I'll pee my pants, okay? We'll have a Billy Madison moment. It'll be great.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I don't think we have to go that far. Dude, I'm peeing my pants right now. This is amazing. I hope not. Don't look at me like that, far. Dude, I'm peeing my pants right now. This is amazing. I hope not. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric. Well, the election is in the homestretch,
