Starting point is 00:01:55 Listen to Loca Tora Radio Season 10 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. First date of follow up. Powered by the advocates, injury attorneys online at advocateslaw.com. Brandon is on the phone today for a first date follow up and he's getting ghosted by Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:02:13 So in a few minutes we're going to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him another date. But first Brandon, how long has it been since you heard from Caitlin? Man, uh, it's been probably about a week or so. OK. OK. We've been trying to hit her up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Been trying to text call and nothing. Nothing. All right. Well, tell us a little bit about your date. We were set up by a mutual friend. Man, my friend was right. Caitlin was beautiful
Starting point is 00:02:44 and so fun. And instantly I was friend was right. Like Caitlin was beautiful and so fun. And, uh, instantly I was, I was hooked. So we took her or I took her out to, uh, just this chill pizza place and pretty cool. They let you build your own pizza and put your own toppings and stuff. And you get to be, you know, creative with, with your, with your pie. And uh, that's, that's all cool, but I'm really more of just like a pepperoni guy, so I just did that. But Caitlin, she actually convinced me to try some
Starting point is 00:03:13 burrata and prosciutto on my pizza. And I got a hand at her, it was delicious. I didn't know what I'd been missing out on. Please tell me you rolled your R's when you ordered that. I did. Okay. I got it going a little bit. what I've been missing out on. Please tell me you rolled your Rs when you ordered that. I did. Okay. I had, yeah, I got it a little bit. I love Italian. So anytime I could say, what? You're really painting a picture now. Thank you. No, it was, it was great. So good. They were like, well, let's just keep this
Starting point is 00:03:39 going. We grabbed the nightcap. Got some wine at a place next door. Fortunately enough, Caitlin loves a good whiskey too, so I treated her to an excellent Japanese whiskey and that opened the door to talking about travel and our hopes and dreams and places we've been, places we'd like to go. So then after that, I walked her home and actually ended the night with a kiss. It was, I guess it was a little awkward, but it was awkward. Well, you just like, I went in to kiss her, kiss her cheek and then like she turned and I ended up like kissing her lips and it was a, it was kind of an awkward slash funny moment,
Starting point is 00:04:24 but cool. And, and like one of those weird first kiss moments where it's like some, you're kind of an awkward slash funny moment, but cool. Okay, like one of those weird first kiss moments where it's like you're kind of dancing, trying to figure out where you're supposed to go with it. Yeah, yeah. Like it was kind of like funny moment, but I mean it turned into kind of a passionate kiss and we plan to see each other afterwards. Okay, that's good. But she hasn't gotten back to you.
Starting point is 00:04:45 What do you think, what do you think the reason is she's ghosting you? That's the thing. I don't know, like we had a great date, pizza was great, the drinks afterwards were great. The kiss, although awkward, was kind of funny and she didn't seem put off by it. She actually leaned into the kiss afterwards.
Starting point is 00:05:03 So it seemed like everything was happening but then I don't know. I mean, you know, I do things go like any anything could have happened here in the night that she might have I don't just sound disgusting or Off-putting and then just didn't want to make it awkward. I don't know. I'm kind of I've never been ghosted. So I'm just got, I have all these questions. But did nothing happen that sticking out in your mind? No, no. And like, you know, like I said, like at the end of the night, like with the kids,
Starting point is 00:05:35 like I don't think anyone that didn't want to see me again would have engaged like that. And then when we were done, she actually mentioned she was excited to see me again. So that's even more like trivial with the situation now. OK, well, let's see if we can figure it out for you. Then we'll play a song, come back and then call her and see if she tells why she's ghosting you and maybe get to another date. OK, OK, perfect. All right, we'll play a song.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Come back and get your first day of follow up next. In 2020, a group of young women in a tidy suburb of New York City found themselves in an AI-fueled nightmare. Someone was posting photos. It was just me naked. Well, not me, but me with someone else's body parts on my body parts that looked exactly like my own.
Starting point is 00:06:21 I wanted to throw up. I wanted to scream. It happened in Levittown, New York. But reporting the series took us through the darkest corners of the internet and to the front lines of a global battle against deepfake pornography. This should be illegal, but what is this?
Starting point is 00:06:38 This is a story about a technology that's moving faster than the law and about vigilantes trying to stem the tide. I'm Margie Murphy. And I'm Olivia Carville. This is Levertown, a new podcast from iHeart Podcasts, Bloomberg, and Kaleidoscope. Listen to Levertown on Bloomberg's Big Take podcast.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Find it on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We live in a divided country. I am a lifelong Republican. With all kinds of different people. You know, I'm a mother, I'm a grandmother. That's why we started The Middle with Jeremy Hobson. It's about bringing voices, not from the extremes, but from the vast middle into the national conversation.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Anna, I'm calling from Las Vegas. Each week we bring together an all-star panel. Mark Cuban, so great to have you on The Middle. Thanks for having me, Jeremy. Neil deGrasse Tyson, welcome to The Middle. Thanks for having me. And hear from ordinary Americans from all over the country on the most important issues. Hi, my name is Venkat.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I'm calling you from Atlanta, Georgia. And when you subscribe to The Middle, you also get an episode each week called One Thing Trump Did that focuses on just one item from the avalanche of news. We should be examining what our government spends its money on and are these jobs necessary and what are we doing here? But that doesn't seem to be what we're doing in this situation. Listen to The Middle with Jeremy Hobson on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Are we ready to fight? I'm ready to fight.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Is that what I thought? Oh, this is fighting words. OK, I'll put the hammer back. Hi, I'm George M. Johnson, a bestselling author with the second most banned book in America. Now more than ever, we need to use our voices to fight back. And that's what we're doing on Fighting Words. We're not going to let anyone silence us. That's the reason why they're banning books like yours, George.
Starting point is 00:08:33 That's the reason why they're trying to stop the teaching of Black history or queer history, any history that challenges the whitewash norm. Or put us in a box. Black people have never, ever depended on the so-called mainstream to support us. That's why we are great. We are the greatest culture makers in world history. Listen to Fighting Words on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:09:04 My name is Brendan Patrick Hughes, host of Divine Intervention. This is a story about radical nuns in combat boots and wild-haired priests trading blows with J. Edgar Hoover in a hell-bent effort to sabotage a war. J. Edgar Hoover was furious. Somebody violated the FBI, and he wanted to bring the Catholic left to its knees. The FBI went around to all their neighbors and said to them, do you think these people are good Americans? It's got heists, tragedy, a trial of the century,
Starting point is 00:09:36 and the god-damnedest love story you've ever heard. I picked up the phone and my thought was, this is the most important phone call I'll ever make in my life. I couldn't believe it. I mean, Brendan, it was divine intervention. Listen to Divine Intervention on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:09:59 First date of follow up powered by the advocates injury attorneys online at advocateslaw.com. If you're just joining us for today's first day of follow up, Brandon is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by Caitlin. So we're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and see if we can get him another date. But first, Brandon, before we call her, why don't you refresh our memory on your date with Caitlin? So Caitlin and I went on a date, set up by mutual friends.
Starting point is 00:10:29 We had pizza and wine and that was great. Build your own. And then we went out for drinks afterwards. Great conversation. I walked her home and we ended up kissing and it was great. And then she was excited to, seemingly excited to see me again. But after that, it's just been nada, there's been no communication. And you have no idea why?
Starting point is 00:10:54 Yeah, nothing. I'm, it's kind of disappointing. So I really liked her. I thought we had great chemistry and, and it seemed to be mutual. So yeah, I'd be really bummed if it didn't work out. Yeah. Well, you ready for us to call her? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:11:08 All right. Here we go. Hello. Hi, may I speak to Caitlin, please? This is she. Caitlin. Hey, how are you? My name is Jubal.
Starting point is 00:11:19 I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. I'm calling from a radio station. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Caitlin, please? This is she. Caitlin. Hey, how are you? My name is Jubal.
Starting point is 00:11:27 I'm calling from a radio show. It's called the Jubal show. Hi, Caitlin. We're all here. I'm Nina, also on the show. Hi, and I'm Victoria. OK. Hi.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Hi. What's going on? What's up? Not much. Why are you calling me? Have you ever listened to the show before? No, I'm sorry. That's OK.
Starting point is 00:11:43 You don't have to apologize. Maybe you will. No, that's cool? Have you ever listened to the show before? No, I'm sorry. That's okay, you don't have to apologize. Maybe you will now, that's cool. We're calling you because we do a segment on the show, it's called the first date follow up. That's where if you go on a date with someone
Starting point is 00:11:55 and then you ghost them, that person can email us and ask us to call you and see if we can figure out why you're ghosting them. So we got an email about you from somebody that you went on a date with. Oh. Are you ghosting them. So we got an email about you from somebody that you went on a date with. Oh. Are you ghosting somebody? Well you are, but do you know who it is?
Starting point is 00:12:09 Is it Brandon? Yes! Brandon emailed us and told us a little bit about your date. He said he really likes you and he thought you were into him. So he's confused as to why you're ghosting him. Do you mind telling us? Well I did really like him. Um.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Okay. He's hot and smart and kind of awkward. It's actually kind of charming. So you liked him but you're ghosting him? Well he texted me something after our date that I just like haven't been able to get over. I didn't really know what to do with it. Was it a picture or something? No, no, God no. I mean that happens. I think he's a good guy. What did he text you?
Starting point is 00:12:55 Okay, let me find it. Okay, the text says, Your magic and have awakened parts of my body that I have never felt before. That's like on the line, you know, like I don't that's just that's a lot after one date and kiss and like I don't know if he's like in a Shakespeare play, like is he taking himself seriously when he says that? I kind of was expecting another text that was like, you know, Hark fair maiden, I long
Starting point is 00:13:33 for another evening of your presence or something like that, you know? That could have been cute and funny. You know, there's some people out there that believe in love at first sight. So if they're laying it on thick, that could be a good thing. It was so earnest and it just kind of felt like too much. And I think he hasn't been in a relationship in a while. And so I was afraid he was in like this romantic dreamy bubble.
Starting point is 00:13:57 And I gotta be with someone who's in the world that I'm living in. You know what I mean? So it just hits you like a little bit too much? It just felt a little, I mean, how is that possible? Like I'm just a person. Yes, oh my gosh, give yourself a little bit of credit, Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:14:14 It's magic, but like I've awakened parts of his body that he never felt before. It's just a little overwhelming to me. Okay. And then I don't know if I'm like on a pedestal. I just, it just made me a little nervous. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Well, thank you for telling us that. Now I gotta let you know that Brandon is on the phone and has been listening and wants to talk to you. Oh, God. Okay. Hark fair maiden, yes, it is I. By night and tail, while I had dreamt of this pleasure occasion.
Starting point is 00:14:46 See, he's funny. I was able to meet you again. Hi, Hark. I'm sorry, I just put your business out on the radio, but you didn't have them call me, so. No, that's quite all right. What parts of the body were awakened, Brandon? I mean, I'd rather not discuss that.
Starting point is 00:15:16 I think people understand. That was pretty bold of you, Brandon. What was going on through your mind when you sent that text? I'm I, I don't know. I was awakened. Um, no, I'm just, I'm a playful guy, but I, okay. I just want to assure you that I do live in a reality. After our date, I was like legit. I've never felt that way.
Starting point is 00:15:39 And after my last relationship, I just, that was lacking and, and I want another date and I want to be a part of your reality. Oh, maybe I'm over the top, but this is how I was feeling, honestly. Well, Kaylin, would you like another date with Brandon? We'll pay for it. Yeah. Oh, see Shakespeare's got a game. Congratulations, Brandon. You did it. One is fair maiden. Congratulations, Brandon, you did it.
Starting point is 00:16:05 You got another date. I mean, I like that he has a good attitude and could laugh at this. And I appreciate that we're more on the same page than I thought. Kaylyn, and I can't say how excited I am. And I promise, if I'm going overboard with anything, you can always talk to me about it.
Starting point is 00:16:26 But heart, sir, Caitlin, my heart and the onions are in bloom. I'll wait for next week at the Outback Steakhouse soon. That is a romantic. Jubals first date follow up. Hey, I'd enjoy it if you live in my neighborhood. That is romantic. Yeah. In 2020, a group of young women found themselves in an AI-fueled nightmare. Someone was posting photos. It was just me naked.
