The Jubal Show on demand.
First date follow-up.
Oscar is on the phone today for a first date follow-up,
and he's not getting a call back from a woman named Kira that he went on a date with.
And that's why Oscar has reached out to us to help.
Well, hello, Oscar.
What's up, man?
Morning.
Hey, thanks, guys.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for being ghosted, I guess.
Before we get into the date and everything, how long has it been since you last talked to Kira? Gosh, let's see. It's been almost a week now.
And how many times have you tried to reach out to her since your date? Honestly, I've
texted four times. First, tell us about the date. How, how was it? The date was great.
You know, it wasn't anything super exciting.
We just met up, had some drinks.
And we did end up going back to my place.
Oh.
That was a really good time, to say that.
You said nothing exciting followed up by that.
Yeah.
Which one is it? Well, I mean, you know, where we went wasn't super exciting,
but at the end was pretty exciting, I that was for me anyway it's always the best part
all right so you guys ended up hooking up after the date yes you know all that went great and
uh you know at the at the end of the night end of, you know, we both agreed that we wanted to keep it going, keep seeing each other.
And I don't know, you know, I felt like it really went great.
I think that there could be a future with this girl.
I mean, it's kind of early to say, but I mean, really good first date.
And, you know, I did want to move at her pace you know make sure that you know like
sexy time get in the way or anything like that but uh you know I guess I I did kind of feel like
I wanted a little bit more moving forward like you know mentally emotionally that that kind of
thing because I'm into her actually you know she's really really cool on a radio station. Right.
With the situation.
So normally, in my experience, when I've got out on a date and if it's nothing special, we go to dinner and then we end up how you did at the end of your date.
Normally, that's a good date.
Right.
I don't know why I'd be getting ghosted.
Exactly.
Unless that's all they wanted.
That's it.
Oh, good point.
If it was just for like a hookup and like one and done, I'm in and out.
Very good point.
Yeah.
So what do you think?
I mean, yeah, really the only thing I can think of is, I mean, like I said, we did have some drinks first and we didn't get hammered or anything but i might not have been you know totally at my best as a result of that you know maybe there's something you're forgetting
oh not really i mean we didn't drink that you know not to forget anything but and it could
just be that i that maybe i texted too much before I should have and like came on too strong or like
clingy or something and I don't know that's really all I can think of is maybe my personality was a
little sloppy at the end of the night or uh or just coming off as clingy after the fact so
gotta be one of those two things all I could think of did you do something that you would
consider clingy um outside of maybe texting too much no not that I can think of did you do something that you would consider clingy um outside of maybe texting too
much no not that i can think of and what were you texting her just normal or were you like come back
please i'm crying and i need you back here to hold me yeah no nothing desperate or crazy like that
but just you know definitely wanting to you know just letting her know that i wanted to
you know continue to see her and get to know her better. What was the last thing she said to you?
I can't remember exactly, just that I had a great time
and I hope that we can do it again.
I think I said I hope we can do it again
and she said definitely or for sure or something.
I don't know, I'm kind of basing on that,
but it was, you know, good, goodbye.
And she straight up, she hasn't responded to anything,
any of your texts, nothing, she's just straight up ghosted right after that? Yeah, they're all good. Goodbye. And she straight up, she hasn't responded to anything, any of your texts, nothing.
She's just straight up ghosted right after that.
Yeah, but nothing since then.
Okay.
All right.
Well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you.
We'll play a song, come back,
and then call her and get your first date follow-up next.
Right in the middle of your first date follow-up,
if you're just joining us,
Oscar is on the phone,
and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Kira.
He said that their date was pretty normal.
They went out to eat dinner and stuff, pretty average,
but they did end up hooking up at the end of the date
back at his place.
So that means to me that she definitely liked the dinner, right?
Normally that doesn't happen if you hate the dinner.
And Oscar can't figure out why he's getting ghosted.
It's been over a week now.
He's reached out to her four times
since she left his house after they
sealed the deal. Yeah, thank you
Bennett. He hasn't heard from her so he doesn't
know why. He thinks maybe he came on too
strong. Maybe he was a little too drunk
and didn't come on strong enough if you know what
I mean. And he can't
seem to figure it out. So we're going to help
him out. We're going to get her on the phone and
find out what the reason is and see if we can get him another
date. Because Oscar, you said you really liked her, right?
Oh yeah, for sure.
Like more than just a hookup.
Like you could see yourself hooking up with her
for at least a couple months,
if not the unforeseeable future.
I definitely think it has that potential.
All right. Okay.
Okay, cool.
Well, we'll call her right now
and we'll see if we can figure it out for you.
You ready?
Let's do it.
Hello?
May I speak to Kira, please?
Oh, yes, that's her.
Hey, Kira, how are you?
My name is Jubal, and I host a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And I'm Victoria from the same show. I'm Bennett from The Jubal Show.al and I host a radio show called The Jubal Show. And I'm Victoria from the same show.
I'm Bennett from The Jubal Show.
Yep. And so we're all from The Jubal Show. It's a radio show. And I don't know if you listen to it or not, but hi.
Yeah. Hi.
We're calling you because we do a segment on our show called The First Date Follow-Up.
That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them.
So we're on the phone with you because we got an email from somebody
who listens to the show about you.
Oh, okay.
May I too?
Yes, you may.
Who are you ghosting?
Yeah.
You should know.
I mean, I went on a date recently over the weekend,
like almost a week ago, I'd say.
Nothing went bad or anything.
It was a great date, and we went to a bar, and the vibe was good.
Was his name, was it Oscar?
Yes, actually, it was.
So Oscar did tell us about your date.
He thought that you were really into it too and then he said after you left his house nothing he hasn't heard anything from you
and he wants to know why well i guess it's kind of payback um payback oh what do you mean payback
yeah payback for what well okay so i texted him like the next day and then i
texted him again the day after and he never responded so i mean he technically ghosted me
first honestly i i yeah i thought when he texted me when he finally did text me back like it it
just felt like he wanted a booty call or something. So I just was going to ghost him back.
Sounds fair, but I'm confused.
Yeah, I'm confused as well.
So you left, he didn't text you, so you didn't text him, but he did text you, but just not
right after.
Right.
I text him like the next day after the date.
And then like another day after just to, you know, see if, I guess, if he was still interested.
And then he finally texted me back, like maybe a couple of days after that.
Okay.
We talked to him, you know, and from his story, from his side of things, it sounded to me,
it sounded like he texted you right away.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He said he texted you four times.
I don't know about that.
I got, I got it after my, like the next few days. I don't know about that. I got it after
my, like, the next few
days. I don't know. So you
texted him first and he didn't text you for a couple days?
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, that's how it felt.
Maybe I got the timeline wrong on when he texted you,
but he made it sound like he had texted you a bunch
and you didn't answer at all or text him
because I think I even asked him if you texted him and he said no.
Maybe you guys have the wrong number. Well I hope not now I feel bad yeah I'm
just confused who's not texting we should just talk to Oscar about it Kira because Oscar's actually
on the phone listening and wants to talk to you maybe he can help us figure this whole thing out
oh okay oh my god no this feels a little awkward I mean, it's been feeling awkward for a minute, so why not make it more awkward, right?
Hey, Kira, sorry to put you on the spot.
Hey, I mean, it's okay. I guess we're clear in the air now, right?
Yeah, I guess. I hope everything's going well. Yeah. Well, yeah.
I mean, I thought the date went well.
I figured, you know, we would see each other again.
I just, I don't know if we got our wires crossed or what happened, but I totally texted you.
I definitely wanted to, you know, see you again.
You never texted me.
I definitely would have seen that
no way I texted you like the day after like in the morning after just to you know catch up or
you know chit chat or something I swear I did I sent you a text the day after and like one day
after that I I swear I didn't get any text from you because like I didn't want to text you too fast and
come off as like desperate or weird or anything
because I don't know I guess
I was just
in my own head and then like
after a few days I was like okay like
I'm going to reach out it's been long enough
and then like you never texted
me at that point and I was like
oh god I don't know
yeah see I thought you weren't responding to me so I wonder You never texted me at that point, and I was like, oh, God. Oh, my gosh. I don't know.
Yeah, see, I thought you weren't responding to me, so I wonder.
I swear to God, I'm looking at the text message thread right now, and there's nothing here for you.
You totally ghosted me.
No, you ghosted me.
That's why I ghosted you.
I swear, you did not text me back.
I'm sitting here looking at it right now.
I've got no text from you.
I texted four times, and you're saying you only got one, like, over the course of the week?
Yeah, just I only got one from you.
So I swear that I swear you were ghosting me because I didn't get a response back until a few days later.
Was anybody's phone, like, shut off? you were ghosting me because I didn't get a response back until a few days later.
Was anybody's phone like shut off?
Maybe you didn't pay your bill in the last few days, ran out of minutes.
And that's why these messages kind of like got lost.
I don't know.
I don't get it.
Let me let me pull it up again.
Let me look at my phone.
Oscar, what's your number again?
I'm just going to type it in because I didn't save you as a contact yet.
So I'm just going to look for it.
Okay. It's the.
Oh.
Oh, what?
What is that?
What does that mean?
Funny story.
It looks like, so I have someone working on my house, and your numbers are almost to a T, exactly the same by, like, one or two numbers.
And I, no wonder your text to me was confusing because I didn't text you.
I texted the worker.
Oh.
Awkward.
Okay, so just let me make sure I got this.
So you didn't save me as a contact, and then you did text me the next day,
but you texted somebody that was working on your house by mistake?
Yeah, I guess that's what I did.
I'm so sorry.
And, I mean, I guess that's why I felt like you were just texting for a booty call.
Oh.
Okay, yeah.
That's right.
Like, the text message I received back was so confusing because it was like,
do you need me to come over there now or something like that?
And I'm like, what?
No.
All right.
Well, Kira, would you like to go out with Oscar again
now that you know what happened that he wasn't ghosting you we'll pay for it yes yes of course
oh sweet that is that's great I Kira I can't wait to see you again and please save my name in your phone. The Jubal Show on demand.
