00:00The new Subaru Cross Trek Hybrid is the most fuel-efficient cross-track yet. That means less time filling your tank and more time filling your day.More court time.More ride time.More lake time.More camp time.More go time. The new 2027 Subaru Cross-Trek hybrid.
00:19Consumer Reports top-rated subcompact SUV.Stop by your local Subaru dealership or visit Subaru.ca to learn more.Consumer Reports does not endorse products or services. For most of the history of professional sports, there was a wall between the game and gambling. Then suddenly it was everywhere.Ontario is all in on sports betting.Make every moment more with fandom. But that wasn't supposed to include the players themselves.
00:47Records for Jonte Porter is under NBA investigation.Athletes are the perfect gamblers.Understood.The Big Bet.Available now on Spotify.Live from New York, it's the show that is putting out an open call for ideas for the payoff to a bet between me and Danny for Bears versus Patriots. We've got to brainstorm upstairs, not going great.I got it.
01:17No, the dinner thing doesn't involve the audience.I think it's got to be dinner. So dinner's fine, but that has to be something in the audience. It could be a few members of the, a few viewers as well. No, the whole audience has, there has to be something on camera. And we did come up with it.However, like every brainstorm we've ever done,Kevin Wilde's, here's an idea, is like,
01:38oh, that's something, then hates it,and then doesn't come up a more. Here's what it was.He has to dress up like Iceman. It's not humiliated. And Danny will paint the door red.No, that's not it.One of it was KW dress up like Iceman,
01:53and KW is against one piece of the Iceman. You don't think it's,and him walking through the door.step of death. No, he's got to do more. Danny's got to do more, too.If you add more, guess what I'm not into with the ice man?Because I'll put on the jacket. I'll put on the Caleb. He won't. He won't wear the mask. He won't wear the mask.He won't do that. Actually, he thinks the mask.
02:14The little orange mask.He wouldn't do it. The little orange mask. I wouldn't, but exactly.Ask Drew. You guys should, you guys from now on, you're notgrew. You should treat me like through. You should treat me like through. And then act like it. Just respected.Obviously, he should treat me.He's not doing that.I just throw on robes and sneakers and sneakers.
02:37Brew and I humiliate ourselves all the time.Your team should have been better.First hour of first thing first thing. That stretcher might be making another appearance.Caleb versus Drake, find out who's facing a must win.Meanwhile, Wemby starts his debut this year.O for 12, bro.Did get one to fall.
02:56Yeah, it was, yeah, a dunk. Are you worried? And finally, the best segment in all of sports, undefeated teams by for a spot on top of the committee's tears.Alongside Kevin, well, I am Kevin Wilds.I'm off.See, you guys got me rattled. You guys got me rattled.
03:15Alongside Chris Bessarton, Kevin Wilds,I'm telling you, do you eat, mess it with me?I'm like a field goal kicker. You got to treat me.Kate up, you got to respect.Like Bill Belichick would say.Just do your job.Yeah, I'm trying to.
03:31No, you're trying to do everyone's job.Setting the tone.Do your job.We start in New York.Nicks rose the banner, dropped the game.As the new look 76ers took down the champs,LeBron had 14, 9 and 7.Here's the King post game.
03:46Going out and when the shit did I preach.I'm there every day.I'm there before everybody gets to the gym.And I'm one of the last ones to leave.I mean, I'm working.I don't just be like telling you guys.they're doing, I don't hold myself accountable. And if I'm not doing something, I want the guysto hold me accountable. So I think that goes a long way. I got to commute two hours too.
04:09What did you make a LeBron's debut? It's exactly how it should look for the Sixers to be realcontenders. Maxie's got to be the leading score. Jalen Brown's got to be, it doesn't have to be,but I think ideally will be most nights the number two offensive option. LeBron has to dowhatever it takes like he's been doing for the better part of a quarter.century now for that team to have its best chance. And last night, that was, hey, game one of year 24, can you guard towns and play center? When Embedde goes off the court, no problem.I got it.
04:42And I thought LeBron was excellent defensively throughout the game, including in the finalmoments. You just showed it, but it doesn't really, you can't totally tell right there he blocked it,but he did.He got just enough.and then you heard Embedafter the game brewsay how his goal this year is to make an all-defense team
05:04for the first time in yearsobviously Embed's healthis it almost goes without sayingthat is a huge variable, the biggest variable for the teambut when he's out therewith this collection of playersI would argue Embed's defenseis more valuable than his offense
05:22I know he's a guy that has scoredwon a scoring titleis one of the best scoring bigs ever. But with this team, if he can get anywhere close to what he was defensively, then they are real championship contenders. And I think they showed last night without Dean Wade, who I think is actually a sneaky important piece for thembecause he's a vintage role player and add some size,
05:47they absolutely can make the finals. Now, I think whomever comes out of the east is going to be a significant dogto if either of the two favorites come out of the West. But LeBron in his first year in Miami made the finals and lost. And his first year back in Cleveland made the finals and lost.First year with the Lakers, he got hurt so we don't know what had happened.I think this Sixers team has the pieces, if they play that way, to absolutely win the conference.Yeah, I mean, the pieces are great.
06:16There are some people saying this is LeBron's most talented team.I would push back a little just because of the ages.I mean, M.B., yeah, if M.B. was in his.absolute prime and healthy, sure, but they're not.And you've got to remove like LeBron.LeBron's not the talent he was.Right, right. But, you know, Maxie, Jalen, you know, they do have a ton of talent, obviously.
06:39When LeBron joined the Sixers, you guys might remember, I said it on this show.I think two things need to happen in addition, obviously, to them being healthy for this to work.Number one is Nick Nurse needs to institute an egalitarian offensewhere the ball is moving and everybody's touching it and getting their shot. And that's what they did last night.I've been watching them through the preseason and you were seeing it as well.Even though Maxy is clearly the best offensive weapon. His speed is just ridiculous and you can see it.
07:12And then Jalen is the second best at this point. But it wasn't like they were just looking for Maxi or it wasmaxi-centric.The ball is finding him and finding others as well. They had 28 assists on 37 baskets last night.Last year, they were 20, Philadelphia was 29th in the 30-team league in assists per gameat 24.Their first game together, they come together and they got 28 assists.
07:40On a bad offensive night.Yeah, right. They were missing shots. They were 106 points.Yeah, they make some more shots. They have well over 30 and they only had 10 turnovers. So I think Nurse has done a great job of getting that type of offense. And it's not just centered on LeBron, centered on Maxie, centered on Embedd, or whatever.
07:59Secondly, they needed to, well, the defense, get out in transition, of course, that's what you want to see.But the second thing I wanted to say is they needed LeBron to essentially play the same role he played in L.A.And I don't know, I know he had the little interaction with the fan that got me on the shelf.I don't know that if that was just, hey, just a conversation for that night or if he really didn't like it.Because that's the role he needs to play, which is Swiss Army knife. And last night, as you said, it was passing. He can get eight assists in his sleep. He had seven last night.
08:36And then the defense. And I think his defense will be better with Philly than it was with the Lakers.because Philly can actually be a good defensive team. The Lakers just didn't have the pieces,so that kind of brings everybody's defensive morale down. And he, in today's NBA, he can guard centersbecause the centers are out on the block. He's stronger than most of them.
09:00And so if he puts his mind to itand he's not controlling the offense like he has throughout his career,he has the energy to defend. So if LeBron's going to play that wayand they're going to share the ball and move it like that, they're going to be fine. And look, first night together,I get it, the Knicks were the emotions.
09:21I don't hold this against the Knicks at all.But still, on your first night together, the first game ever, all these guys playing, and you go out and beat the defending champs, that says something. No Mitchell Robinson, our first look at the Knicks without Mitchell Robinson,
09:36Andre Drummond played great.Drummond looked great.I mean, he could have had 20.He missed a few more. And they start running.Yeah, let me, you know,No concerns about the Knicks whatsoever.Listen, here is the only, and I thought Philadelphia was going to win last night
09:52because a lot of the intangible reasons. The emotion of it, I think that LeBron is not going to be rattled by the pomp and circumstance. So there was a lot of reasons. But one of the more tangible reasons was the Knicks were,a postseason juggernaut that won games in ways you simply will not in the regular season. In the regular season, if you're down 23, you're like, okay, you got a game, you know, not always, but you are, you are more likely to let go of the rope because we get another game win.Tomorrow, the day after, didn't have it.
10:37The Knicks, part of their magic was these unbelievable runs powered by an absolutely electric crowd and the other team wearing down. The other teams aren't going to be worn down early in the season. They're not going to have the same sense of urgency.I think, but I do feel, and I felt going into last night, that these are the two best teams in the conference, and I think there is a bit of a gap.I don't think it's a massive gap, but I don't think Boston, Detroit,Miami. We'll see what the Pacers look like.Pacer's could be good. I think it's pretty clear that certainly as presently constituted,
11:18these are the two teams, I think, will be the two teams vying to get to the NBA finals. One thing I've been wondering about the Knicks, I'm not concerned about them, but we remember they were down to one to Atlanta.I don't want to say flip the switch because they actually made some strategic changesand start running the offense through Carl Anthony Towns and took off.And I have wondered, are they going to play that way this year, like throughout the regular season, where they kind of go through towns? They didn't last night.
11:47Remember, he was averaging like six, seven assists. He got a lot of silly fouls and got out of him.Yeah, I think he had one assist last night. He started bombing threes late.He was hitting them. All right, head to the West.Western Conference Finals rematch wasn't close.Brew, you said this was a must win for the Thunder.
12:04They over-delivered for you.while Wemby had a dreadful night.Missed his first 12 shots from the field. Here he is postgame.I need to go back to playing the basketball I like. You know, it's, I don't like, this is not the sport I like right here.So I got no reason to be hesitant, no reason to not be myself. It's, for me it's as simple as that.
12:33I'm good when I have fun.I missed lots of shots, which I usually don't miss. But after that, it was, I didn't go back to these shots, and I didn't, I don't know, I wasn't decisive. It's, I might be overthinking it.You're taking Wemby's night.Well, first, let me show, you mentioned it.I want to shout out the Oklahoma City Thunder, because I did feel like as much as the first game in an 82 game series season could be a must win.It was a must win.
13:03they had to let themselves and the spurs knowit's not going to be like last year. You're not just going to run over us like last year. And they did it.And Chet Holmgren may end up.Chet won that matchup last time.Yeah, he played what, 14.7 rebounds.Remember, game seven, he had four points for rebounds.
13:21Only got punked once. But he didn't really get.I don't know if he, that was a week, yeah.I mean, the other guy, I mean, I thought Chad handled that the proper.Yeah, yeah.Like the, and so, but I thought he won the match.matchup, most importantly. But go ahead.
13:35I mean, Wemby was really good defensively, but offensively, obviously, was a disaster. Here's what my reaction to his quote. That was as alarming as his futility offensively last night. That quote.Like, I'm like, Wimby, you're 22 years old.And it's game one. It's the first game. You're talking like you're 35 years old in your 15th season.
14:02and you're in your fourth year. And like you say, it's the season opener. What I think it is, I think he is so focused and desirous of historical greatness.Yes.And he wants it now.I agree. He wants it yesterday, right? That he is in his own head.
14:23He said he's overthinking. He's in his own head.It could be potentially compared to like when LeBron against doubt.LeBron grew up, obviously was a prodigy, was like groomed to win championships and be on par with Michael Jordan. And when he finally got there, we're going to win it with the heat.It was like he got in his own head.Yeah.And so, look, I don't think it's going to ruin Wimby's season.
14:52I think next game will probably be great offensively. But I think that's what was going on last night. And he does have to get over that.Secondly, and look, maybe I'm going to be.beat this horse all season.Right? It isgreat and you guys know I lovethe fact that he can handle the ball
15:09that he can shoot threesand pass and all thatbut a lot of guys can do that. What makes himunique and historically greatgoing forward is he 7.5with athleticism, skills and coordination.
15:26And when youspend 80% of yourtime at the three point line,Unacceptable. You're 6-5.You might as well be 6-5 out there.Because defenses are begging you to shoot the three.Even though you might get hot.
15:42If you hit 9 one night, they'll live with it.Because they don't want you inside drawing files on their big men, compromising their defense. And look, the Spurs should hire, I mean, I really, they won't do it.I mean, they should hire Akeem, Elijuan as an assistant coach.Because the one time, Nick,I think. The one time that Wimby put Akeem's teachings into motion was game one last year.
16:09He had 40 points, 15 rebounds on 71% shooting.This, he's not doing it anymore.So can we?He's wait.He's out.And quickly.This is all.Wimby is to blame without question.
16:22But so are the Spurs.Like I get it.You're the great San Antonio Spurs. What is this is coaching malpractice. And it's Mitch Johnson, yes.but the entire organization, what are you doing? Will you tell the dude to get closer to the basket? You shouldn't have to tell him.
16:42But I mean, run all offense. They run this random office where it's just,we want it open for all our guys that can get to the paint. If you can't finish in the paint with somebody in there, then you ain't a hooper. So don't tell me, oh, he'll clog up the paint. All right? The paint was clogged until 2012.
17:01in the NBA, and dudes finished.I know.So here's that.So I had very similar reactions to ruin, and I was very curious what yours were going to be,because I'm probably, I'm certainly not as optimistic about Wembe as you are.I don't think I'm a pessimist, but I'm not as optimistic. And I, but I literally wrote down,
17:24playing with joy, question mark, question mark, what's he talking about?Yeah. He's a kid who's an MVP favorite on the finals favorite,on the defending Western Conference champion in his first gameagainst your created make-believe rivalwho you just mortified the last time you played him.The last time you played this team,
17:47you were so overjoyed after the game, you were sobbing. And now you're like, I got to get my joy back.So that was odd.You agree with my son?He is just so, like, I just got to be this. That's a great hypothesisbecause I didn't come up with one.It just seemed odd to me.
18:05What didn't seem odd to me was that he played the wayhe's wanted to play since he was in France. He took 13 shots last night. Two were putbacks. So I cut those, and those are obviously great plays. Here's every shot he took that wasn't a putback.A contested 18-footer.A contested kind of close, you know, eight-footer.
18:27A three.contested, by the way. We're going to show you all of them.Just, you know, a typical jump shot. You laid the defense off the hook. This one's fine. That one I'm good with. That was a great defensive play, but he's driving to the basket.
18:40That one's good.Another three.That's a good play.That's a good play.That's a good play.This one, I'm good with.He just missed.So we're three shots so far that we're good with.
18:54And again, it's not like he should never shoot threes.Right.And then I think there's two more.Another three and then the one made basket, shocker of lob at the rim.And then by the way, and then he didn't shoot in the fourth quarter. He took 13 shots in the first three quarters and that's what he ended with.He is, and this is the graphic I showed last year during the playoffs. He is a great shooter for a 7-5 guy.
19:26He's a fine shooter for the NBA.Those are the guys last year that shot around the same amount of threes as him at around the same percentage.None of those guys are we like dead eye.Right.You know what I mean?Like that's, you know, that's their special.Dort, it kind of is his offense specialty because he has no offensive specialty. But, you know, like those, he's, he wants, he plays like he's Durant.
19:54Yes.And he is a much.worse shooterand a half foot taller. It's an absurdity. And so his defensive impactwill always be there, which is why his floor...
20:07That's why last night was salvagingbecause he was great deficient. And so his floor, you know,on any given night,is like, oh, tonight he was the 12th best playerin the league or whatever, because every night he's the best defensive player. But it is, in my opinion,
20:23an unacceptable approach. He didn't haveone shot the entire game where he got the ball on the block and did a post move and went up.Like what? That's Bruce thing. And he's 7-6.Yeah, it's just they got to.And again, I don't want him posting up like Shaq necessarily, but you can flash to the paint, pick and roll.
20:49Like, their ways, he's just got to be closer to the hoop. And your point on getting the other team in foul trouble, wearing them down,All of that matters, and I want to add one other things I know we have to get to the Chiefs.I need Wemby to have a new rival, or at least additional rival. It can't, if you're going to, if your goal is to be the greatest player of all time, you need to have a rivalry with one of the greatest players currently.Okay, like who?Joker.
21:19The thing it was.The problem is.She's teammate.She's to, she's too, like a guard.Yonis is important.I think they're, I hear you.It just feels beneath him.They're, they're like almost like a previous generation.
21:33You know what I mean?Even though they're still competing. But, you know, they're the previous generation.I just think it's just he's tall and skinny.I think that's, and he beat him when they were 15 or whatever.Chat was nasty in high school. No, I just think that shouldn't be his number one rival. He needs, yeah, I don't even know who his second.
21:52No, exactly.I don't know who it is.Like, I mean, Carly and then he towns.Well, Towns is alive.Yeah, very quickly, it's Jose Alvarado for dumping them on the ground that one time.SGA had 32 to lead all scores.Kansas City's undefeated headed to Seattle, who are sitting at 500 and favored by less than a field goal,
22:15battle of two or the last three Super Bowl champs, and a homecoming for a Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker, who has run for 100 yards in four of his last five games. We get this.Seattle has gone third.35 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.Obviously, by committee, they allow more than 100 yards, but just one guy.Are the Chiefs due for a loss?
22:37Yeah, they should lose this game. They should be missing both tackles in this game.Jalen Moore had a concussion in this previous week game.Josh Simmons, obviously, he is practicing now, but he is not back.Rishu Rice did not practice today. This is a desperate Seattle team.it will be an outrageous environment on Sunday night football in the second loudest stadium in the country. And listen, I think this Chief's team is a 12, maybe 13 win team.
23:10If they win this game, then they're like a 14-15 win team.If they, I mean, if we show their schedule, if they win this game, then you feel like they will go into Buffalo either 9-1 or 10-10.And as good as, while I think this chief team is better set up than anyone to win the Super Bowl, because the defense will get better, Mahomes in the playoffs, all of that,I never thought they were just going to be a regular season juggernaut. And if you go to, if you start 5 and O and then you go to Seattle and beat a desperate Seahawks team, that's, in my opinion, it's not in my opinion, it's definitely either their hardest or second hardest game on their schedule.
23:54It's either that or in Buffalo. So I, just to say, like, I pick the Chiefs lose this game before the season.Right now, Seattle hasn't looked as good as I thought they would, but that almost makes them a more dangerous opponent this week because they need the game. So, yeah, I mean, if they win this game, I'm going to think they're going to win 15 games.Yeah, look, they're definitely due for a loss, and Seattle is due for a win.they've lost two straight, three of their last four. But am I becoming the Chiefs guy?
24:27Wow.I think the Chiefs are going to win. Here's what. Now, I won't be stunned if they don't.Seattle really needs to win this thing. It's a good one.The Chiefs' upseller is pretty sweet. Here's the thing.
24:40We know Seattle can't really run the football that well, all right? The Chiefs shut down the run, all right?Top five against the run. That means it's going to be, Sam Darnel is going to have.to carry the day for Seattleto win and he hasn't been playingwell and I think thatthe Chief's defense is going to I think they're going
25:00to I've said goblinshe's going to be seeing some goblins Sam Darnoand Kenneth WalkerI would imagine isincredibly motivated. LookI led you to a Super BowlI was the game's MVPand you wouldn't pay me I'm sure
25:16he's overjoyed to be in Kansas City I wouldimagine but stillI've been here my whole career you wouldn'tpay me? And so I think he is going to want to put on a show. And look, I think it's going to bea very good game. Like I said, I won't be surprised if Seattle wins. But I hear you becauseI'm thinking maybe the Chiefs will drop a game or two to teams they shouldn't, which theygenerally don't do. But yeah, if they win this, who's going to beat them? But I got them winning.Because they have the running game this year, they seem not that susceptible to.
25:52the dumb loss.Like in a way that and so...Just like a silly pick six off a guy's hands.Or a game where it's like,oh, this team's a bad teambut they have a sick pass rush likethe Raiders a few years ago and it's like all thechiefs can do is pass. Like Kenneth
26:08Walker kind of gives them a littlebit of immunity to like losing toa really bad team. So that'swhy like I just, if theybeat the Seahawks, I amgoing to be, I am really going to feel likethey're going to be the one seat.Part of me is I don't think they're good, but I don't think they're nearly as good as I'm saying.
26:27We'll be alert on what's going on with the Seahogs at three and four Super Bowl champs. All right. It's just a great episode of must win.Coach has something in store, but brew, of course, the defending champion. We'll see how it all goes down next.Every week.I've got, hey, I call balls and strike. He doesn't want charity.
26:46Exactly.He doesn't want a chair. He doesn't want a shirt. You better earn it.The new Subaru Cross Trek High School.is the most fuel-efficient cross-track yet. That means less time-filling your tankand more time filling your day.

27:32San Francisco 49ers currently have the highest vibes. And the Rams who started the season at number one are at 29.20.This is almost their vibes are bad.Yeah.Just their local fans. It's a fascinating podcast.Really just a framework to make jokes.
27:47Time for a segment that grows more literal by the day.it's must win.First up, hot game, a Thursday night football.Patriots in Chicago.Drake has been hot after an ice cold start.Iceman has been hot. After a hot start, but then he got cold,he got hurt actually, and now he's hot again.
28:06I'll tell you who else has been hot.Chris Broussard, the king of this segment. It started off this season hot.Remember, you got five points.Coach still winless in must win.back maybe since last year.Brew, reigning champion.Did you just score this?
28:25I'm just trying the rules.I am bitter about this game.I thought, didn't they call it last week?I think it was called Brews must win.Do you want to be first, second, third? It should be called bruise must win. What do you want here, bro?I'm going for it.
28:38Wow.I'm aggressive.I'll go first. What's the first game?Oh, geez.Let's get this party started.Patriots at Bears, Brew.Oh, Patriots at the Bears.
28:47See how little preppy person there?must win for the bears.Okay.Okay.It's a big test, coach.Mr. Inevitable and manna from heaven as Ben Johnson's did.Can they do it against a good defense?Oh, you cook.
29:07You put up 59 against the bottom 10 defense having Carolina Panthers. You put up 30 plus against Atlanta, which again, poor defense.face a good defense like Minnesota.Three.The Patriots, as you know, are a top five defense. What is Caleb and Ben?What are they going to do against this defense?Plus, you're in Chicago.
29:35Must win for the big.Solid start.Facts.Wow, that's what you came here with. This is a must win for the New England Patriots. And I'm going to take you back to 2018 on this very daywhen the four and two New England Patriotsplayed the three and two Chicago Bears
29:52in Chicago and won a 38-31shootout. And here's the last play of the game.Hail Mary Mitch Trubiskydown to the one-yard line. The Patriots stop them one yard short. And what happens? The Bears go on to win the division. The Patriots go on to win the division. The Patriots go on to win the Super Bowl.
30:13Wow. Wow.And video?A nice history.Yes.Hold the video.There you go.What's that got to do with 2026?History repeats itself.
30:24Because it's happened on this day with the two teams at the very same point that propelled them on to the Super Bowl.Look, if you're in the kiss. You're okay.Listen, I'm not, I have given up on actually getting points. So I'm just here in the audience. This is a must win for one man and one man only. The handsome man to my left wearing the two guys.Kevin Wilde.
30:50It's undeniable. You have the most skin in this game as anyone. You are, A, fully convinced that Patriots are all the way back. You are already trying to flirt with Drake May making another run at an MVP silver medal. You are trying to fertilize that ground. You have been so, thus far, such a Caleb and Ben Johnson skeptic, and you, you have, you,You're a little bit on tilt.I know that because yesterday, for the first time ever,
31:23when all's off season, all we heard about was,I like quarterbacks who complete passes.I like quarterbacks who complete passes. And now that Caleb is leading the league in completion percentage, you for the first time in your broadcasting career dropped the phrase,A dot. You're like, let's get that A dot off his average depth of target.30th in the league.
31:44He's never cared.30th in the league. How long we were doing the show together? He's never cared about that at all.I didn't even know you knew what A.D.That's not true.If any of us ever had said when he's like, hey, Jared Goff completes a lot of his passes or somebody. And we're like, yeah, but his A.
31:59dot's low, this is what he would have done.He would have done, oh, I'm sorry, is A Dotslow? You know, you're all right? And now you're, and so it's a must win for you.An honest question.Yeah.Drake May led the leading completion percentage last year. His depth of the target was super high.
32:16Super high? How high?I assume it was one of the league leaders behind Stafford.I think it was number one.Okay.So I think having the number one completion percentage.KW.KW.
32:28No, sorry, coach takes it.Coach number one.You weren't even cold. You came in last. You guys both got zero, but you got last.I thought you cooked, Nick, but you made fun of the judge. That was a problem.I don't care about that.
32:39I just wanted to be accurate.Bengals in Baltimore.Lamar on the sidelines.Question mark.Jesse Minter.saying Lamar got in limited work today. That's what I used to do when I was working construction.Sorry.
32:56Every team in the AFC North Spout 500, Bengals in the last place at 3 and 2.Coach, who is this a must win for?The schedule maker is messed up for Baltimore. It's a sad day. It's a must win for Joe Burrow. So Joe Burrow hasn't had a great record in Baltimore. He's been two and four. But the last three times he played him, there was on Thursday night.
33:15So it's Thanksgiving, two Thursday night games. And then before that, it was a Sunday night game. But if you go back, okay, to the last time they played at 1 o'clock,a 1 o'clock game in Baltimore, Joe Burrow lit him up.400, what was it, it was 416 pass yards, three pass TDs,113.15.5 pass-er rating, and a 41 to 17 win for the Cincinnati Bengals. He's going to light him up.And then he insulted the crowd and said the SEC was louder.
33:43That was October 24th.So,oh,actually,can I just tell you, this is why your devil-may-carescoring function throughout the weeksand denying coach his rightful victory
33:58is bad for the show.Because he's up there,and he's like,cogent analysis hasn't worked.Humor hasn't worked.What if I just go to historical president?Like,he's just,
34:12hold on,hold on.He's like,he's like, nothing.else worse because of theoh yeah we're definitely onthat on that track yeah but
34:21you've said it before you havethe like oh yeah Thursday nightoh my godso I'm just saying I'm going with thethe betters coach I'm having yourback we don't need to talk footballhere we just talk you knowtrends you had video of that though
34:37there are so manyTDs that we couldn't pull it because we havethis is a must win for Cincinnatibecauseit appears they're going to get what should be their biggest game of the year,or their most influential game of the year, their game in Baltimore, without Lamar playing. And the only story that, like, so they can't put Baltimore in the dirt for the season,
35:05but they can start getting the shovels. If they're, when Baltimore's next to are Jacksonville and Buffalo, when they get them again in Cincinnati, when once again,Lamar has seemingly some mysterious injury that we can't quite get our arms around, which is thestory of this game. When Lamar first got hurt, we weren't even, it wasn't like when he first got injured, the reporting was not that he was definitely out the next game. And this would be the third game.
35:35They're coming off a loss.So that's the story, but that's why the Bengals have to take advantage and win.Just quickly, if we were debating.the latest battle rap, hip hop battle. And I brought up when the Sugar Hill gang battled Grandmaster Flash in the Furious Five in 1980.Yeah.Would that be relevant?Necessarily.
35:59Thank you.Thank you.All right.I just wanted to put that out there. All right?Because some of us are going back in time.I'm just saying.Brady.
36:09Brady.I guess, I guess guys, don't play differently on different days.different time stops. That never happened. This is a must win for the Bengals. That's what I said. It's not just that they don't beat the Ravens.Joe Burrow can't beat Lamar Jackson.
36:29All right. He's two and seven against Lamar. All right? He brought up the Ravens, not Lamar. So I can't beat Lamar, but guess what?Lamar's not there. If we can't beat them without Lamar coming off ofbuy. I think I'm the first one to mention that. Bingoes off a bye. Then we can we beat them.
36:50Thank you. That's good. But can't put the Ravens in the dirt, but you can start getting out yourshovels. Wow. I've gotten a point more. All right. This one is worth three. Kind of a flaw in thescoring. Packers at Lions, America's game of the week on Fox. Green Bay's won three in a row and justdismantled Dak Prescott's self-reclaimed Gody offense. Lions, however, actually havethe best offense tied with the bills at nearly 33 points a game. Who is this a must win for? It's a must win for Michael Parsons because it buys him more time and keeps his team more in itfor when he returns. Savvy. With that said, much like I see often when I'm watching C-SPAN,which I like to do quite a bit, if there's, you know, an important witness being interrogated by Congress
37:43and you know one of your fellow Congress people has better questions or deserves more time.I would like to yield the remainder of my time.Save it for coach at the end because I've gotten a little sneak peek at some of his graphics.I think he's going to need it.Wow, that's nice.I'm going to yield my extra time to the senator from Ohio.Yeah, look, I don't have a Bart Star story.I'm sure the guy following me does.
38:11So I'm just going to keep it to this year, 2026, all right? In fact, October, maybe September 2.It is a must win for the Detroit Lions. We expected a lot from the Lions this year, right? And they haven't looked great, three and two.Defense is horrific, right? But the saving grace for Detroit has been, they're banged up.Their injury ravaged, what did you expect?
38:41All right. Well, guess what? This week, they're whole.Coming off a by Brian Branch, come on down. The great safety playing his first game of the season. All right?Their man, Rak Yassin, thought he'd be out. He's going to play.Rock Yarsin is playing. So the defense is now whole.
39:03No more excuses. All right? So you got to go out there and beat the Green Bay Packers.they don't have Micah Parsons, now they have the excuse.Right? They've done fine. They're holding place until Micah gets back. You got to go ahead and win this game because now you are healthy.
39:22Healthy.They're healthy. They've been banged up.They've had excuses.Okay.Look, I've made historical references, but I'm really going to make some historical references. So this is a must win for Amaran, Julian, Huru, St. Brown.Okay?
39:40And his dad John, who was a world champion bodybuilder, decided his kids were going to be great, and he was going to name after great men.And so for Amaran, his first part was named. If we could show it, there we go.The king of the Egyptian guy.And then his middle name was named after the protectorand the sky god and the protector of kings.
40:04So he was determined that his kids were going to be great. And he has been great. He has been a great player. We can all agree on that.but he hasn't been great against the Green Bay Packers. So let's take a look at what he's done against the Green Bay Packers. So his numbers, receiving yard per game, way down versus what he is against everybody else. He's got 100-yard career game against him, 25 in his career.
40:26He's got 49 receiving TDs.He's only got three receiving TDs against the Green Bay Packers. And then it's his birthday on Saturday. There's another thing. And let's say, wait, is there more?Yeah, there's more.He and his brother have a continuing bet that they started because his brother was drafted in sixth round by the Green Bay Packers. So there's always a little battle royal between the two teams.
40:49And you don't want to be sitting at the dinner table with your dad who is a world champion body builder and be the guy, you know, comes out in the losing end of a bet.An unbelievable, since is what I talked about.Point thumbs, not fingers when you were, you're blaming me.That being said, you did not mention that the lions are also fully healthy on defense.Brod-Dix.Yes, baby. That's just the facts.Save all of that.
41:16I take batter, flowers. It ain't about being cute. They're healthy now.Their defense is healthy. It's about substance. That's right. The defense is healthy. You're going to break the show.
41:33The defense is healthy. It's been an issue all year.No one else knew that.No one talking about. No one knew.No.When New Vegas is right, and Vegas is right.
41:43I am absolutely.I didn't even prep for this.It was terrible.Drew didn't even know what the first game was.I'm the main fact.That's what I brought.They're healthy.That is terrible.

42:18Oh, my goodness.10 and a half point underdog.Against them. Now number 18, J.J. McCarthy gets the starting nod when New York goes to Houston. We have new sound from JJ.Take a listen. It's honored to be here in front of you guys, you know, honored to be a quarterback for the New York football giantsand be able to get an opportunity this weekend against a great Houston Texan team.
42:40and, you know, thrilled to get out there tomorrow. We'll really get in the film room and just evaluate today's practice and get better and go from there. He threw for 243 when he came in, let an almost comeback.Do you think this is the right move to start him?I was really hoping that James was going to put together better, more consistent play. And with James, you're always going to have the potential downside of interceptions, and that's part of what he does. But usually you have some really big upside, and you have some games,
43:10that are unbelievable in terms of what he's able to generate offensivelyand haven't quite seen that.So when you get a player like JJ who comes inand then breathe some life into a team, that at that point, prior to him coming in,there was not much to cheer about for anybody. You take a step back and say, okay, could this be what we're looking for
43:33in terms of an energy boost,a change of outlook for the rest of the case?guys because James really wasn't doing that to this point. It could go south and you can always go back to James, but based off of what he did, trying to give the team a further spark, makes sense to give it a try.And this is the year or years of second acts with quarterbacks.Maybe this will be his second act.Yeah, I definitely think it's the right move.
44:01I mean, we know what James is, 12th season, 32 years old.Like you said, coach, high highs and low lows, even in the same.same game. So I knowexactly what he is.J.J. McCarthywasn't great in Minnesota, obviously, butmaybe there's something there. We knowHarbaugh's brother Jim loved him,
44:22so he probably really talked him up.He did play well. I think that wasan aberration of what he did last week in the fourthquarter, but I definitelyloved to give him a shot. If he playspoorly, then we get a highdraft pick. If helights it up and plays well,
44:38now you have a goodproblem where I look I think Jackson dart is better but I don't know for sure we haven't seenenough of dart I don't think so let's say McCarthy played really well maybe they leads them towin the division now I've got a good controversy at quarterback maybe one guy becomes tradableor I have them battle it out so I think it's definitely the right move let's see what the kid can doI think it's the right move I expect him to get annihilated because of it I think it's the rightmove. I think he'll, I think youdidn't trade for J.J. McCarthy
45:13to have James play that poorlyand not let him start. So you might aswell roll the dicewith it and try it out and I'd give him more than oneweek. Oh yeah. I'd give himreal time. I also think this Texans defense, whileit has struggled against good quarterbacks, you know, when it looked like the Texans of last year, when they
45:31played the Titans a couple weeks ago. Iimagine that's what this will look like.I think that's why the line has moved to ten and a half.if he, however, if he comes in and is even serviceable, then it is a catastrophe for the Vikings. The Vikings are not set at quarterback. That's interesting. The Vikings are not, don't have a long-term plan in place,
45:56and the Vikings just basically were like,we must get rid of this player. We are a couple years in, three years into him spending a top ten, pick on him, the 10th pick I think it was, maybe it was the 11th, I thought it was the 10th, whatever.A top 15 pick, let meprotect myself there. And it's just like, who wants him?
46:17Somebody, and it's not like he was making a ton of money. He was on a rookie deal. The quarterback who was replacinghim and Kyler ishistorically an injury risk and got hurt in the first game.He had put Carson Winston. They treated it as ifif he is ever going
46:33to work, it is yearsdown the road.if he comes in and plays well, then that is a disastrous decision by Minnesota.I mean, they got, what, a fifth round pick for him, right? It was a fifth round pick. And so I, you know, we talk a lot about Minnesotaand Kevin O'Connell, the quarterback whisper
46:54and how great the defense is, all of that.As focused as they are on, you know, their season, someone in that organization is going to,Their job this weekend is going to be watch the Giants game and fade J.J. McCarthy.Like, am I overstating?Well, even more so quickly, the fact that you gave up Darnold and Daniel Jones.Oh, yeah. And now it would be McCarthy if you play as well.
47:20That just makes it look even worse.Sometimes, though, with draft picks that aren't working out in your building, you just come to the point where it's not going to happen with your group. And part of that could be the pressure.where he was drafted, him feeling slighted because he brought someone else in.And so now he gets this opportunity to go to a place where there's no expectations. If anything, there's extremely low expectations. He can, to some degree, exhale and maybe overthinking it or feeling like he's not achieving
47:52at the level he's supposed to achieving. That goes out the window and he can actually just try to play football.I get all that. But typically when the first round pick quarterback gets moved, that didn't work out. When Darnold got traded to Carolina,it was like a second, a fourth, and a sixth.Like, you get real capital for it.
48:14They got nothing for J.J. McCarthy. They got a fifth round.I shouldn't say nothing. They got a fifth round pick.If he comes in and before the midway point of the season plays well, that's a bad look for Minnesota.I don't think you will.Note from Josh, you know,
48:28the building where J.J. McCarthy won his national championship. You know what?I'm going to go ahead and say,Houston place.Correct.What's it called, Josh?Named after a bank or something, oil reserve.Oh, it's an oil thing.

48:58Live from New York,it's accusing someone.I'm not reading a text.We found out today. How about this?KW.Because he was born in the 70s.Can't figure out how his phone works.
49:08No offense to people born in the 60s,for him.How do you turn? And he was like, everyone who calls me,goes straight to Boisville.I didn't know.He had his phone set for Do Not Disturb,
49:20seven days a week,9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Don't bother me.I'm locked.You know what's called being locked in?Remember when LeBron did it,it was great.LeBron just got off social media.
49:32People who worked with him could still call him.Are you sure? Because I call them right to voicemail.I don't think you called me.I'm serious.Hold on.Let's start the show.I'll start the show, dust, but I'm just going to go look.I'll find the text.
49:46Okay, thanks.I don't know where is it in envelopes?Today, Chiefs struggles right here might lead to more Super Bowl.On a text with you, me, and the producers.Oh, that's different. Here, Moe-Holmes' take on.It's very interesting.Meanwhile, friend of the show, Dionne Dawkins joins us.
50:08That would be excellent. He owes us beer.Yeah, Labatt and Blue.Yeah, and this was another controversy before the show.Kevin Wilde is like, hey, guys, Brew and Nick, don't screw up the great interview I have planned for Dionne Dawkins. You guys say, you guys agreed.Let me get you caught up to speed.
50:26Last night in the zombie aisle of a Spirit Halloween,an elite committee of experts, analysts, and people who are leaving work early tomorrow, for, quote, research. You have, quote, boots on the ground.Yeah.Because it's, quote, good for the show.Don't you think, guys?
50:46Fought and to burn the midnight oil to deliver the best segment in all sports. It's an honor and it's a privilege. It's time for the committee's tier.It is true tomorrow that I would never miss the Budlis, but right after the Budliss, I have to leave to go to the first Sixers game of deerso we can have boots on the ground for LeBron's first game.in Philadelphia as a sixer, I make up for that because I'm the only one of uswho once a week stays a little extra late, does a little segment called Frenemies.
51:14So I've been booking that extra, the little extra time for months now.I didn't know he punched the clock.Exactly.That's exactly right. Now to the eliminated teams.Last week, some teams faded elimination. So the Titans and the Dolphins remain the only eliminated teams.teams. Last week, I also said, Coach, that while the Chargers deserve to face elimination,
51:41much like a maniacal villain in a horror movie, I want to keep them alive a little bit longerto torture them. However, after that performance against Kansas City, the Chargers have no choicebut this week to be facing elimination. What's that? Wow. Oh, they're on a buy. I guess youwill be around another week, Chargers, to talk about how mortifying this season is.bid.The hottest of seats.Shane Steichen, it's fine. You can probably go coach in Philly.
52:11Might rather coach there anyway, but your GM just got fired.Never a great sign.Todd Bowles finished last year, losing like seven of eight. It started this year losing five of six.Not great.Dan Quinn, here's my advice, man.Remember during COVID how the NFL made folks wear masks?I think you should.
52:34I think you should come in in next week be like coming down with a little something, guys.I'm going to coach with this little. Not reading my lips this week, your sons and guns.Tell us that much right now.Can win, likely won't.Cardinals, Jets, Saints, Eagles. In any given week, they can win.Probably won't on any given week, but they can.
52:55I think the Jets will win this week. The Cardinals and Saints did win last week. The Eagles are being written off in a way a team with that good of the United States.the defense should not be written off.I think it can be written off for the season, but on any given week, the devons can rise up and beat somebody. So these teams can win games. They likely won't win a lot of them.
53:16Striving for mediocrity, let's just get to eight or nine wins and see what happens.Raiders.Well, that's where the cowboys are.Could win the division.Yeah, that could win the division. For the Giants, that could win the division. For the Falcons, that could win the division.
53:31For the Raiders, they'd be their best year in almost a decade. So it's not quite a decade. We're not the Raiders win the division. No, I'm saying winning eight games.Oh.No, no, they're just having a mediocre season. Not a decade because they made the playoffs five years ago,the year Joe Burrow went to the Super Bowl.
53:46They beat the Raiders. So it would be the best year in like five years.Striving for mediocrity.Coach, you'll like this.Okay.Packers, Panthers, Browns.I'm sorry, Steelers, Packard, Panthers Browns.Slowly earning respect.
54:03That's fair.Three teams I did not believe in, and the committee did not believe in before the year. But the Steelers, even though, even in wins, Aaron just can't help himself, but to really just knife McCarthy. What was the difference?Well, I started calling the offense and the huddle boys.Like, let's be serious. But he's playing well. This week wasn't as good as the previous week, but he was good late and good in overtime.
54:32Panthers, three and two, after last year making the playoffs, like slowly earning my respect as a legit team. And while the Browns have drafted really well, the defense is really good. And while the quarterback play has left a ton to be desired, not late in games, at the very, like the final drives to Sean's been good, they're four and two.Steelers, four and two, Panthers three and two, slowly earning respect.Very different two and fours.Texans are two and four, and they're like, got them right where we want them.Last year, we started 0 and 3, then ripped off a crazy winning streak.
55:08This year we started 0 and 4, have played really well the last two weeks, dominated the Titans, got a great win to stay alive amazingly for the division over the Jags, have a soft schedule coming up.We feel fine. We're adding players.Rams are 2 and 4.It's like, what the hell has happened here? How did we find ourselves at 2 and 4?
55:28And they just put Kobe Turner, I think, on the IR.the injuries are mounting.Devante Adamsruptured his hamstring.I think he had surgery on it today.I think that's correct. So very different two and fours.Polar opposites and two teams that if you combined,
55:48one team's offense and the other team's defense, you would either have one of the worst teams in NFL historyor the best team in the league by far, depending on which half you got.Lions can scorn.score 35 any week, which is good because they need to score 35 any week to win.The Broncos can hold anybody, almost anybody, to 14, which is good, because that offense is going to really struggle to get more than 14.
56:16They both have stars on their respective sides of the ball. However, you know, the Lions have a head coach that when things go wrong,he explains how it's his fault and how he needs to do better.Broncos head coach tends to go a different way.Very obvious path. It's very clear how these three teams can continue having excellent seasonsor have excellent seasons and go on deep playoff runs. For the Patriots, it's another season with a Mike Rable-led defense
56:50that is a top six defense in footballand their young star quarterback plays like it.For the Ravens, it's Get Lamar Jans.it's get Lamar Jackson back and just do what they do when they have Lamar Jackson. And for the Seahawks, it's we have the best defense in the NFL and maybe the best skill position guy in the NFL in JSN.We know how they're supposed to win.Are they going to be able to do it?I don't know.
57:14But we know if they end up winning 12 games exactly how it happened. At their best, dot, dot, dot. These four teams at their best this season have looked.like their championship caliber. The Jags dismantling of the Patriots, they looked like a championship caliber operation. The Bears, this past weekend, looked like a championship caliber operation.
57:38And honestly, their first game without Jalen,I'm sorry, without Caleb, that when they beat Jalen against the Eagles, the Packers this weekend, despite four drops in the end zone, dominating the Cowboys,The Bengals, the, was it the third game of the year, the second game of the year, where the defense was getting after the quarterback, Jamar Chasing, making some of the best plays I've ever seen. When they look like their best, if they could play that way, and maybe they can.
58:08In January, they could find themselves on deep playoff rounds.Partial juggernauts, and this is, the question for these teams is how much does being a true juggernaut on one side of the ball, not elite, but a juggernaut on one side of the ball, cover up for deficiencies on the other side of the ball.If you do have the best offense in football, which the bills might, can you get away with having a bottom 10 defense? If you do have the best defense in football, which the Vikings might, can you get away with having a bottom 10 offense?I don't know, but certainly thus far in the regular season,
58:46there are combined 11 and 1.It's worked out. There's no elite teams this year. It's a weird year in the NFL.hiding in plain sight. You know the team that's been to five of the last seven Super Bowlsthat hasn't lost an AFC playoff gamesince the first Trump presidency
59:08that all of a sudden has the best running back in the leaguein a young defenseand one of the greatest quarterbacks we've ever seenthat's also undefeated?I think they're probably awesome.I think they're probably only going to get better.I think they're probably actually going to end up beingan obvious juggernaut
59:25when the best quarterback in the leagueadded the guy who's on base to runfor 2,400 yards. However, they're not atop the tears right now.The Niners are. However, sadly,we know how this ends.2019, the San Francisco 49ers started out,
59:43not 6 and 08, no.And oh, my God, Kyle Shannon's scheming it upand Jimmy Garoppolo looks like a league MVPand they were the best team in the leagueand they were the one seed. Then they walked into the Super Bowlgot clipped. And then in 2023, the San Francisco 49ers started 5 and O. And the quarterback's an MVPcandidate. And oh my God, they're the one seed. And they walked in the Super Bowl and they got clipped by
01:00:04the team right beneath them on the tiers. But right now they're atop the tears. That is the committee'stears. Had it solid seven. Yeah, it's solid tears. I love the labels. That's my favorite part ofthis whole process. I mentioned that quite a bit. It's because I'm trying to find something positive. The Carolina Panthers, it just doesn't matter what.I know you tag them.More Panthers, coach.Because it's going to get real estate in Carolina. But here's, this isn't just when.
01:00:35Here's my feeling is that no matter what happens, if a team beats anybody like Jacksonville or Chicago or Kansas City, then they get elevated no matter what. You know, so you've got the Texans above the Carolina Panthers. And when you look at the production that Carolina's had offensively,we can bring that up, it's not even close to where Houston is.So they're fourth, second, first, fourth, six.Defensively, I know they change defensive coordinators, everything's set up now. They still give up 30 to Jacksonville.Oh, you're talking about Houston.
01:01:11Yeah, I'm talking about Houston. And as long as, you know, somehow Jacksonville's involved, then...It doesn't do with the Jags.Yeah, it does, because your love affair with certain teams,If someone beats them, they get elevated like six. It's like a video game where you hit that little mushroom or something. You get triple points. That's how it is on the tiers.
01:01:32Teams get elevated. And no matter what Carolina does, it's going to be slowly moving up.Slowly moving up.But grudgingly, what did I write?Slowly earning respect.I know. Can we speed it up?Well, no.
01:01:46We can't.They're slowly earning respect.Oh, my God.2, 4, 8, 10.There's only 15 teams ahead of them. They're right in the middle of the league.Right in the middle of the league.Green Bay barely beat who?
01:02:02Not outside of the playoffs, though, because they're the highest team in their own division.Yeah, division leader.Yeah.But Green Bay is 90 spots above them.Green Bay is hot right now, coach.I don't know.I got to agree with coach again.
01:02:14Matthias, I mean, my goodness. With these labels, coach, he's just incredible. He's awesome. It's Marshall. What is his name?Marshal.I always get in.I know it starts with an M.
01:02:26It's some odd name that starts with an M.All right.Anyway, Minnesota, congratulations on being undefeated. They're too high. Why?We don't believe in the Vikings.I'm sorry.
01:02:38Here's why.You got a mouse in your pocket?Who's we?Take out the 39-point game in the season opener, which Green Bay kind of just fell apart.Coach kind of alluded to it yesterday.Like, sometimes you're,up big and you just relax
01:02:54and next thing you know you can't get it back.Usually you don't end up going, relax your way,end up getting blown out by 17.It was odd, but that's what happened that we.But after that, the last four games,Minnesota's averaging 17 points again.Wow.All right, 17 points again.
01:03:09How many of the average allowed?Against teams with a combined record of 7 and 16.Wow.Take away the Bears. And those are teams with a combined record of 3 and 14.We're taking away. They're not. They're offense.
01:03:26Kyler Murray was great last week. He's not going to keep it up.That was the first game in 13 months, coach, that he threw for more touchdowns than interceptions.Okay? The Vikings, look, nice little start to the season.I think they're going to stay in the hunt, maybe make the playoffs.Listen.
01:03:44But they are not on par with the bills. What do you mean? They're fourth best team in the league, according to their host in the cults. What do you think? They'll probably beat the team.the Colts. It's going to be 6 and 0.It's not the standing.
01:03:57And remember Pittsburgh?Remember Pittsburgh about six years ago, the Steelers?Yeah, they started 10 and 0.11.I thought.I don't remember. And they were better than a buyer? But were they good at any, where that team's dominating and they weren't they just
01:04:11kind of like winning games? If you're asking me, Nick doesn't believe in the Vikings.I don't believe in the Vikings as a Super Bowl contender.Fourth best team in the league?I do believe right now the.defense is so good, they have earned that designation.Anybody.It's the standings.
01:04:27I could have win, got the USA Today.Cross the street at CVS.I can't believe I get an opportunity to talk about this team. All of a sudden, everybody sold their stock. Here comes KW.Grab it up.Chips on the table style. The Rams.
01:04:41Take them.Too low.I guess I'll believe in the Rams.I thought they were a little maybe full of themselves, starting with their Australia plan.I'm like, that doesn't make sense. The whole world knows it doesn't make sense. You guys are just a little too high on your own genius.
01:04:56And I'm still mad about that Col Strange draft back from years ago. That being said, this is how they start. The last four years, they've started.Sean McVeigh and Stafford just start slow.So this feels weird because we expect them to start fast. But last four seasons combined, they've been nine and 16.Then they get hot, seven and one, nine and three, nine and three.Their strength of schedule has been sneaky hard.
01:05:20And coming up, grant, you lose to the.Cardinals, you can lose anybody, but Vegas has lost three in a row. Chargers can't win a game, although they will be off a buy. Washington's a mess, and now you got Arizona. Arizona's going tobeat you twice, so they could start up a nice little hot street. They are gaining yards. For whatit's worth, you don't get points for gaining yards, but it's something. It is unique.400 yards and under 300 yards allowed. It's them and the greatest team I've ever seen. It's insane. So that's the sixth lowest red zone scoring percent.this year. That's weird. That's how McVeigh's got to call better plays.
01:05:56And also they're just grabbing random kickers, which I think is strange. But it's concerned. Well, it's not strange. It's concerning. One note on that, and then get the Rams schedule ready if you could. Those stupid Twitter questions of, like, they got $10 million to try to tackle an NFL player or take a tackle, whatever. That kicker got hit in the shoulder.so hard at Torres ACL,which is a little windowinto what we would look like out there on the field.
01:06:27That kicker is as close as we will ever seeto a civilian taking a hit.He got hit by an,he got hit in the shoulder by an offensive player. He also delivered. And it blew out his name. And it flew out his name. Here's the problem for,
01:06:41so the Rams are going to be on a kicker carousel all year.Do we have the Rams schedule?I didn't ask you guys to prep, I apologize. So you're right about their next.for. The problem is this. They must win all four.If they just gothree and one and they
01:06:59are five and five goinginto Green Bay, Kansas City, the Niners, Cowboys shouldnot be that tough. Seattle, Tampa,Seattle. That is not great. So they, like, I agree with you, they're not dead, but they have tobe undefeated
01:07:15into the buy.I think they have to besix and four into the buy, soJust the margin of error now is.A Miles Garrett and Micah Showdown, Week 12?It's fun.Yeah, that would be, no.And if they do that, they're dangerous.
01:07:29They're live. And there's, you know, the juggernaut of the NFC is a divisional opponent. So they play them in the playoffs, it's familiarity.I get all that. But they, their margin of error is gone now.Excellent.Excellent.And they're this close being one in five.
01:07:43They stole that Eagles game.Stole it.Is there a chance that Drake May puts the Bears?On ice.Next one,Next one,It's first thing,It's first.

01:08:35Must win for the Lions.College football, World Series.NFL. NFL.It's fantastic.Patrick Malmes is undefeated, but shared some memoriesand some lessons he learned.from last year's disappointing season.
01:08:51This is, Dusty put us on to this.Very interesting.Take a listen.Last year to me put this football in perspective.Like, we've played in so many Super Bowls. And especially those last few, it's like we kind of,I don't want to say coasted, but we didn't play our best football in the regular season,
01:09:09and we just turned on the playoffs. And even last year, my stuff wasn't going right.I was like, we're going to figure it out.Like, it's just going to happen.I think today, it's, for me, it's about the process.and having to go through that rehab process and not play football,it's really made me enjoy the process of it.Interesting.
01:09:25What would you take on that?Listen, one of the reasons we don't play a ton of Patrick Moehm sound on the show, even though we talk about him as much as anybody,is because he very rarely says anything newsworthy, because he's very trained in what to say,and he's just always talking about how great his opponents are.Yeah, but media trained in a way.And so this wasn't something.
01:09:50something he wasn't supposed to say, but this was something that was interesting because it wasa level of transparency that he doesn't always share at the podium, which was one of the effectsof being to seven consecutive AFC championship games in three straight Super Bowls was, I don'twant to say complacency set in, but we'll figure it out and come the playoffs, we'll play our best. And you saw that, you know, over the years, you know, you saw me talk about how they would be practicingin the regular season or about how
01:10:24Patrick would fix things, you know, come the playoffs. And last year was a dose of realitywhere even if Patrick hadn't,they were six and seven headed into the gamewhere Patrick blew out his knee.So even if he had not blown out his knee, they were likely missing the playoffs that year. And so they weren't going to have time to fix it.
01:10:47And so I think that is instructive to how they're playing this year. And I think because of how they failed last year, it was instructed to the front office of.We can't just have our offensive plan B. Patrick will fix it.Like we need to give him a level of support in the backfield that he hadn't had.Well, he's never had this level of support, where he hasn't had the last few years any level of support. And I think that's why you are seeing the team that they've been so far this year.Yeah, and what makes this so powerful is the same thing we had with Tom Brady, when you have your greatest player talking about the process,
01:11:32talking about appreciating practice, talking about being in the moment, not taking things for granted, not looking too far ahead. When that person is setting the tone, then nobody else in the locker room is going to start talking.talking about those things, they're looking forward. They're going to follow in line with what he's doing, which is exactly the right way to win and to win consistentlyand to be able to compete for a championship every year.
01:12:00All during the preseason, we talked about, you know,we're going to be the greatest this, we're going to be the greatest this,we're going to win this, we're going to, you don't ever hear that from Kansas City. And that starts obviously with Andy, but now to have Patrick with that perspective as good as he is,it's unfortunate for the rest of the league because they're going to be good every yearand they're going to continue to get better because of his perspective and leadership.Yeah, very different approach from, say, the Cowboys.
01:12:28You think?Goddy.I agree with everything you guys said. But the interesting thing to me, and they're going to get better, that defense is young, it's going to get better over the course of the season.Patrick, I think, is just going to keep getting better over the course of the season.and maybe they'll get their receivers healthier or somebody new.But I don't think they're playing that well this season.
01:12:52I mean, you had the banner what boringly dominant or something like.I mean, their games haven't been. The first week was, that was impressive, beat Denver 3110.But they struggled to beat Indianapolis and the Raiders. They didn't look like juggernauts against Miami, even though they had it in control Miami to Chargers.but they're just inevitable, kind of, no pun intended with Caleb, but that's kind of what it looks like.
01:13:21And they looked like back when they won the last Super Bowl in 23 or 24,when they were just 10 and 6.It was 23.It was 23 season.Yeah, yeah. They were just 10 and 6.And then they, so they didn't look like awesome in the regular season, but obviously they turned it up.
01:13:39And then the next year they got to the Super Bowl. They were 15 and 1.They weren't looking great, were winning. They looked like that to me this year, except we know this team is going to get better.I don't mean stylistically because they didn't have a Kenneth Walker. But unlike those teams,
01:13:55I think this one's just going to keep getting better throughout the regular season.I also,I want to add one other thing before we move on.Eric B.enemy was with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 to 2022.Tyree Kill left before 2022.That last year he was with him.Mahomes had like 5,600 total yards, one league MVP.
01:14:17The offense was crazy ice scoring. That was the last year they've had the light show.He then left because no, he was like, okay, for some reason, while every other one of Andy's offensive coordinator has gotten a head coaching job,you can't get one as Andy's offensive coordinator. So go elsewhere. The spots elsewhere didn't work out great for him.You know, he didn't have huge success until he got Chicago last year with Ben Johnson.
01:14:40And they had the best wrong game.he was wrong game coordinator. You heard players in the locker room always talk glowingly about BNamy. He then has come back and what Kelsey says on his pod all the time, what Patrick says is the accountability, whatever that nebulous term means within the Chiefs locker room that he brings is necessaryand that he does bring the best out of them. And I do, while I understand what you're saying, Brew,
01:15:09that they haven't been blown.teams out. They are scoringat a clip that they haven'tsince 2022.Right. And they're, you know, they arewildly efficient on offense. You're not seeing theprocedural penalties. You're not
01:15:25seeing some of the sloppiness in thedrops that we had seen the last few years. And I think BNami deservesmassive credit for that. No doubt.Because the players keep telling ushow important he isto that. And I know a lot of Chiefs fanswhen Andy was, when they were like
01:15:41The Chiefs fans wanted Mike McDaniel. They wanted fresh ideas. They wanted someone new.And we're disappointed when there's been to me.That has clearly been the right decision. And when guys like Patrick and Travis Kelsey allow him to hold them accountable, that's really powerful, too.Because who else in that building is going to be like, well, don't, you know, I'm not going to listen to that or I'm not going to, I'm not going to.Once those two guys are following that lead, everybody else is following that lead as well.
01:16:08Quickly, Coach, you have the Chiefs winning this game.we talked about they might be due for a loss here in Seattle?I'm really curious whether or not they can stop Kenneth Walker. And then if they do stop Kenneth Walker, how does Patrick Mahomes respond? That to me is the biggest question.Thursday night football in Chicago, Patriots visiting the Bears, Caleb taking on Drake.Bears are favored coming off of their win over the Falcons. And Caleb goes 30 for 36.
01:16:39He now leads the league in completion percentage, which I have a lot.Everyone knows I do love one note from Josh, air yards per attempt this season.Right at nine air yards per attempt. Is that from Josh?Fifth in the NFL.And Caleb is that's not A dot. That's not A dot. That's not A dot.
01:16:55No, this is different. So we have A dot too?30th and this.I don't know.He might be dead last in A dot again.I'm more, I just go with, I rock with Josh.Okay.So is there a chance, even though the bears are favored, that the Patriots go in and
01:17:11dominate this game?Yes.Now, I'm shocked.I know.I bet I think the last two weeks the Patriots have cost me a parlay.I think I got the other team.Yeah.Stop parlaying.
01:17:25I'm going with the Patriots in this game.I'm going with your boys.Wow.Wow.Came around. Now, I think it'll be a close competitive game, but the Patriots will win.But it's on the board that they blow them out.Like I said, the Bears haven't looked great.
01:17:41against good defenses. They had the one game with the backupwhere they scored, I can't rememberwhich team was. The Eagles. The Eagles, whose defense hasn't been as good asadvertised. Right, they scored a lot of points. But other than that, they feasted on bad defenses.
01:17:58We know that, you know,New England has a good defense. And they haven't faced great quarterbacks yet,and Drake has it going. And I think A.J. Brown, too.You know he wants to redeem himself. So I'm just saying it's on the board that they blow them out,but I do think they win in a competitive game.
01:18:18I have a hard time seeing this becoming a blowout. They're fairly evenly matched across the board, offensively and defensively.Statistically, when you look at giveaway takeaways, they're fairly evenly matched there too, with New England being a little bit higher in terms of giveaways. They both run the ball. The Bears run at the highest rate in terms of attempts.
01:18:37The New England's the second highest rate.it's just hard for me to imagine that New England's going to be able to dominate the game. And I'm also really impressed with the fact that Caleb has gotten this problem of completion percentage.I mean, it looks like it's fixed. We'll see whether it continues to trend. But that, to me, is an impressive thing that he's done.I have a scorching hot take.Let me hear it.
01:19:02That I think you will like this take.Let me hear it.I think you will too.Coach, I think you will too now.Okay.Three for three. It's an awesome take.We talked about Ben Johnson having his ear finally tuned to sports media.
01:19:19There was talk about like Ben Johnson's never won a game without a number one pick.It was for Case Keenum. And then he wins that game.He says like, oh, I do okay, right? And then it's like, hey, who's going to start Bayesian or Case Keenum? He's like, you know what?I'm actually going to start Case Keen.I'm going to have two quarterbacks on the field just to stick it to you guys.
01:19:38there's been a little bit of a murmur around Caleb's completion percentage he leads the league inbut this depth of field or past attempts part of me thinksI told you it's a scorching hot take that Ben Johnson's like oh you don't think we can throw the ball farwe are going to air it up you KW you can that leads to Christian Gonzalezthere's 20 seconds I told you scorching high but you also said I would love it you didn't love itKW, there has not been a murmur. It's just your algorithm. There is, no one else is, no one else in the sports media is talking about Caleb's depth of target.
01:20:22There's something called PFF.KV.KW, you're, you are, you are grasping for straws to undermine the season, Caleb's happening.I'm not undermining.I put, I put a, I, I put a, I,I think Caleb's doing well.I like Caleb. Not a Ben Johnson fan in his content.
01:20:41No, but the only stat you could show that would show Caleb not doing great this year is the only stat you showed. You could have shown any stat with Drake and Caleb this season, anyone. You picked the only one.I got several more. You want more. You want more stats coming up for overtime for Danny.I think Caleb's going to be a good game.I think Caleb's playing great.
01:21:02I don't think.I think there was a media discussion of.Ben Johnson what's it going to look like without a number one pick.I don't think there's been a media discussion of Caleb Williams. You underestimate Ben Johnson's.Unlock unlimited free grocery delivery with PC Express Pass.Shop online and get the same low No Frills prices delivered.Get your first year of PC Express Pass for just $2.50 a month.
01:21:28Learn more at no frills.ca.Welcome back to First Things First.Joining us now, friend of the show, five-time Pro Bowler, Dion Dawkins, from the five and one Buffalo Bills.Dionne, welcome back.Last time we had you on, not wrong, just early on this take. You were like, hey, watch out for Keon Coleman last year. You were a year early.
01:21:51And it was like, in the season didn't go perfectly. But this year, he's been great. He had four touchdowns last year. He's got three already. So a great call on your part.Feels like he's been an integral part of the offense, especially with some injuries. Can you talk a little bit more about your guy Keon Coleman?
01:22:07Yeah, I guess the best thing to say is just understanding athletes and understanding the culture of what we're living in now, right?Like the culture of athletes is drastically different, right? You have this thing called NIL that nobody has ever dealt with or had to deal with or anything, right? It changes the culture of sports no matter how you look at it.Guys are coming into the NFL with a bunch of money and they're coming in with a bunch of experiences that you,Usually they would only get getting to that next level. So it changes the atmosphere of the aura of being an athlete. And I think my dog Keon, right?
01:22:46Like he was right at that, you know, like NIL, but just fresh NIL.And it's just like, you know, like he had to learn, right? And Keon had to learn how to be on time.He had to learn how to be a pro.He had to learn how to like, you know, coming to Keon, right? And I said it last year.I said it this year, right?Like, we know the athlete that he is, right?
01:23:08We know the person that he is.We know that it's only a matter of time. And then it just comes down to, do you want to wait and for that time to be in with the bills?Or do you want to let it go and watch that guy explode somewhere else?So I'm glad that he's with us.And I'm glad that, you know, coach understands his language and who he is and was patientbecause we are seeing what we've been needing. And it's just somebody to be present.
01:23:33Oh, that's an awesome answer. All right, so I was mad on your behalf last year, Deion, because as you know, while I at times can be considered, you know,a thorn in the bill's side, I'm the only true bills believer of the three of us.KW.He hasn't believed in you guys. The offense is fantastic.I have said, you know, I have people are like, oh, it's Josh Allen and 52 guys.
01:23:57I'm like, actually the team's got a lot of awesome players. It's not just dogs.Neither are there or there. So I am Dion Dawkins fan.and you created an award, protector of the year. You were like, hey, offensive linemen need love too,
01:24:10protector of the year.And Roger Goodell's like, yeah,there's going to be an award.And the winner of it,Joe Tooney.What the hell?He's great.I understand,
01:24:20but it's not like Dion didn't havean awesome year last year, and it was his idea. You kind of thought it was in the bag, right?Like, you kind of got screwed there.Bro, first of all, absolutely not.I mean,
01:24:33I didn't think that it was in the bag, but, you know, I'm definitely fighting, like, I'm a fighting chance. But realistically, the person that I thought should have walked away with that and still, Trent, Trent Williams.Like, what are we talking about, right?Like, and my guy is 38 years old, he's still playing some of the best ball that he's ever played. He's consistently putting great film on tape. He's consistently now being present. He's doing what he does every single year.If we talk about the best offensive linemen that we have ever seen play the game of football,
01:25:07please, can we just give it the props of what it is and let Trent walk off with that so then the rest can follow?Because I can't do what Trent does. Now, I can do what he does to an extent very closely to what Trent does and still trying to get there. But let's not forget, Trent is 38 years old and still playing ball like he's 26, 25.You know, so I would have thought Trent, but look, no hate to any.Big guy, at least somebody has it.Right? At least somebody has it and at least Trent is still in the fight, which, you know, I'm voting for it.
01:25:39I'm giving it the Trent.I'm going to say it cost yourself the award this year.Speaking of the best, like, we hear a ton,Kenneth Walker is obviously having a phenomenal season. We hear a ton about Derek Henry, Bejohn Robinson, Jemir Gibbs. And yet the guy that led the league in Russian last year is your guy, James Cook, and he's having another great year.Do you think he gets the respect?
01:26:07I feel like he doesn't, for whatever easy.Get the respect he deserves.I love to hate to say this.I hate to love to say this, but I will say it because the Buffalo Bills, right? It's just one of those places where everybody just wants to just not give the flowerswhere the flowers need to grow. No, they're giving them all to your quarterback.
01:26:31Because all the flowers are overflowing on Josh's doorstep. The delivery is that.Oh, yeah, Josh doesn't get any flowers. No, no, no.It's like Josh is Josh.Josh is the MVP.So Josh is going to be that.Josh is going to be that.
01:26:47But the fact that we're talking about Jimbo like this is crazy to me.James is the best running back in the league. He showed it last year. He's on track for a better season this year, running behind his guys. And it's just like, what are we talking about, right?Like James Cook is that, yes, a couple of things happened. But realistically, it's in the beginning of the season.Everybody is getting their sparring first rounds of a boxing fight in.
01:27:10And then when you get to the fifth, sixth, seventh round of a boxing fight, like, you win it, right? You're in it.Let me ask you because you mentioned a couple of things happening. He's probably referring to the fumbles. The way guys are punching, and I know, you're an offensive line. And it doesn't, you know, you're not holding the ball or anything or even punching stuff out.But how much, what do you think about this?I mean, guys have become incredible at punchouts.
01:27:37I just feel for ball carriers, it is nuts, man. It's a scary world, man.Like, I don't understand how, I mean, obviously it's legal, but should there be a penalty now if they punch the guy and they miss?Oh, they miss.Like, should there be a penalty? And they just get them in the stomach.got punched in the face mask on way of the wall.
01:28:02Right.But like you think of anything that could get punched, right?Like, what if somebody gets punched?Like, it's just like, bro, like, what's up?Just a kidney shot.Someone on Twitter stuff came about.Like, what would happen, right? So, I mean, like, it's beautiful that people have mastered that, like, technique.
01:28:18But now because they've mastered that technique, we have to protect that technique withsomething that has to come with it.Because, like, like, that's a hell Mary, right?Like, you swinging that guy.and then we talk about a guy punching somebody underneath the pile.I mean, if you ask me, they're both the same thing. And I want to protect Cook, stop punching at him.So let's make a flag, right?
01:28:41Stop punching my dog.So, okay, speaking of one more James Cook question. And again, we're all friends here, just between us.Sure.Every once in a while, when you guys are down at the one and you hear the call from Josh, does James give you a look like you got to be?I can do that, guys.I can score for me.
01:29:00Let me run behind Dion. And I can score.I think realistically for the minds of Vegas and people trying to get their fantasy bonuses.I mean, cool. But Cook doesn't make no faces. We want to win games. And as we see how hard it is to win games, you know,if the QB sneak is one of those things that works for us,
01:29:27just like how it worked for the Eagles, why switch it up?Why switch it up?Like, score more points, you win the game. We're not playing for, like,
01:29:38you know,stat books,but we're playing for points,right?So, you know,I can't speak for Cook,but me knowing my teammate,I know he's probably like,
01:29:47bro,it's all good.I just want to win.Final question here. It's not even a question.Serious interview.Do you have one of these yet, bro?
01:29:54Have you got one of them?Man,we have those.so many of them, bro.And go ahead and chuck that thing, man. This is one of the bats that you sent us.I did this after your guy's first game, and everyone's like, oh,
01:30:07Nick doesn't know how to pour a beer. And I was like, I was trying to do it for speed on the show.See, when you pour it properly, it takes too long.Look at that. But it looks better.Yeah, look at that poor. But I'm going to do a good job.I don't know how popular I am in Western New York,
01:30:21but now I screwed it up at the end.I'm going to tell you the truth. If you chucked this the right way,I'm telling you they will open up that.invitation. Put Dion on camera. If I chug this right way. Come on, hold on.Cut me off. I want to see Deion's reaction. Are you ready? All right. Ready? Cheers, Dion. Are you drinking the whole horn? Oh, yeah. Come on, baby.Oh, yeah, you're nasty. You're nasty. You're nasty.
01:30:46Let's go. There we go. That's fire. Here you go, Dion.Yo, look, I actually approve. I actually approve. And now I'm going to send you guysan invitation, bring your behind to Buffalo and do that in the park.Fantastic.And watch how you jump through a table.Oh, yeah.Watch how your life changes forever, man.
01:31:06And either way, I'll see you in the AFC championship game. But either way, you already know, man.Thank you.Have a great season.Thank you.Thank you.Live from New York, first things first overtime.Today, Seattle ending the Chief's undefeated streak.
01:31:23Hear what Parkins has to say.some incendiary stuff here that I might take offense to as a chiefs fan and a Patriots game.Meanwhile, are you putting all your stock in Josh Allen?Time for QB's stock exchange. That's right, which is different from chips on the table.Yeah.QB's stock exchange is cool because Danny Rolls his sleeps up.Yes, it's like mad money.
01:31:48That's right.Yeah.It really works.I like it.Yeah.I can never tell you. It's no chips on the table. It's really like you.
01:31:55It is good. You got the stock thing.I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I.I like the segments you do without me, us, more than like the...The segments that I do with you?Yeah, I mean, I'm not a huge fan of the leather gloves and cool stats. He's trying to hold you back, too.No.
01:32:10You don't like cool stats all of a sudden?I like cool stats.I like cool stats.I like the game. It's like I'm with an embudsman.I like the genesis.I like the idea.I just wish the stats were cooler.
01:32:20Oh, there's a...The second stat today?Among the coolest we've ever had.Calling my shot.Cool stats.That's saying something.The stats.The stat was so cool.
01:32:28Why did it get stuck in the two holes? There's a strategic reason for it.Because he didn't want to ruin the show.Okay.If it was in number one.He got me mad about how cool the stat was.Chris Richard, Kevin Wilde, Nick Wright, Danny Parkins, got cool stats coming up.
01:32:41That's just a power-packed show and Thursday night football, which happens to be first things first overtime bowl two.Okay.Patriots in Chicago, 24-year-old Drake May versus 24-year-old Caleb Williams. The pair met the rookie year, resulted in a 19th.133 Patriots win, but neither QB looks like they do now.Physically, they look the same. But, like, as a player, they don't look anything like each other.
01:33:04Here's Caleb and Drake, giving each other some nice compliments.Take a listen.Him in the pocket, I don't know if I could do some of the things he can do.He's special in the way he can move and kind of, you know, escape and evade pressure. And, you know, throwing on the run is pretty cool to watch. You know, the way he plays the game is cool. And I know he's doing a great job.And I know, in Chicago, he's.
01:33:27he was got to see.Being able to watch him kind of grow up and, you know, and be around each other. It's been fun.But his mobility and things like that,it's always been a weapon for him, you know, throughout college, high school, all of that. And so it's going to be a good challenge for us in our team.
01:33:42And, you know, we got to be able to bottom up.Now, we still don't have the bet quite nailed down. There's three people on this graphic that are in the show.Me, Danny, and, of course, the Iceman, who is not Danny,There's a strong rumor. It's like the guy who invented Bitcoin. They think they got it.
01:34:01They're not 100% though.I've never met the man.Who would you rather have?Drake or Caleb?I wonder what.Did someone else go first?Someone else goes first?Again, I'm happy to go first.
01:34:16I'll go first.Yeah.Brue to be.Sorry, that doesn't, yeah. All right.Look, this is a tough choice because both guys are great.Wow.But honestly,
01:34:27The other guy is really good. This is a great job by you. What a setup here. And I know I have made a lot of fun of this guy over the past few weeks. But my answer is whichever one is with Ben Johnson. And that's what I mean. When I say the other guy is great,I mean Josh McDaniels has been historically great.
01:34:57is an OC.Victory.If you put Drake and May.I'll take it.I mean, I'm serious.I will take it.Whichever guy, if, so I would take Caleb.I do think his ceiling is higher.
01:35:14But if Drake had Ben Johnson, with all due respect to Johnson.Every six months you have a take that comes out of nowhere.I know.I know. I keep you guessing. But I'm telling you, that's my honest answer. If Drake May was with him, because here's why. Why?
01:35:36Look, here's why.I get the Josh, Josh helped Drake, from Drake's rookie year without Josh McDaniels to what he did with Josh's last year, obviously was great. So he helped him improve a lot.But when I look, Caleb, we didn't think he was going to be a disaster because of his pedigree, but he looked kind of like a disaster his rookie year. And Ben Johnson comes in and I think he's helped Caleb mature.I think that last year he obviously was all about the operation and all thatand he improved dramatically.
01:36:12This year or offseason it was about accuracy being efficient. Thus far, he's been wildly efficient. So I'm just looking at what I think sky's the limit for these two together. And I think that Caleb, just because of a little more athleticism, has a higher up size, a little more dynamic than Drake. So that and being with Ben Johnson, I would go with him.Shocked.It's cool.I like both.
01:36:37What a great answer.Unbelievable.What a two. It's an unbelievable.Hey, Brew.I agree.Listen, I kind of wish that they were drafted into the same conference because I wish they would play each other more.Like, I'm not going to sit here and talk bad about.
01:36:54Drake May. I think he's excellent. I was doingradio in Chicago when the Bears got the number onepick. I was a Caleb guy.But to me, I said the debate wasCaleb and Drake, not Caleb andJaden. I thought thatDrake is really physically gifted.Caleb's just a little bit more
01:37:10physically gifted.Drake's in a really good situation.I think Caleb's in a bettersituation. I would take Ben Johnsonover Josh McDaniels. I would takeCaleb's offensive line overDrake's. I would take his pass catchers.over his. I just, I think he's in a better situation. And Drake so far has been a bit more of a
01:37:33roller coaster, whereas Caleb's improvement has been incremental. Year one, coach gets fired, offensive coordinator gets fired, takes 68 sacks. It was rough. Year two, sacks go from 68 down to24, gets better over the course of the season, like way better at the end of the year than he was at thebeginning of the year with Ben Johnson, wins the playoff game, seem to be peaking at the end.And this year, when he's been healthy, picked up right where he left off and seems to havetaken another step. And, because I do think it is close and I can see the argument for both sides, Caleb doesn'tmake the fatal mistake.
01:38:12Caleb does not turn the ball over like Drake does.I mean, the dad is-Even in Drake's MVP year, since the start of last year, he has the most turnover.in the league and Caleb has...How did the season end for you last year? Why were we in the Super Bowl and you were watching? It's a team accomplishment. No, but the season ended with the Caleb interception.
01:38:35That did happen. The season ended, right? No, but you agree, hold on.Because I want you to go.You agree that Drake is more turnover proffering.Drake has been throwing the ball to the other team, dropping the ball on the ground. No, not just this year.
01:38:46I mean, what Danny just showed is...Yes, but I take offense to that Caleb doesn't make a fatal mistakewhen a mistake that he made literally killed Jerry. But he's one of the least turnover prone quarterbacks in the league.Yes, he's done a good job. He's better at taking care of the ball than Drake.Yes.At the same time, your season did end on the game ending.
01:39:06With the game ending interception.Yes, correct. So go ahead.I'm obviously taking Drake.I'm taking the resume of Josh McDaniels over Ben Johnson. The resume, no doubt. The press conferences I do not take, I think Josh needs to work on that. Here's how they're doing the last two seasons, including Drake's woeful start of this season and his playoffs where you can say we was winning games but not playing right.
01:39:35He's got a better record. He completes more better percentage passes. It has more total yards per game, more yards per pass, more touchdowns, better pass or rating. But he gets sacked a bunch.A lot of that's offensive line.Sometimes it's him not throwing the ball away and taking care of it.So that's kind of my argument.Turnovers in the sacks are the only things on that screen that are in Caleb's favor, and they're dramatically.
01:40:02Caleb's TD to interception ratio, I think, is better.Yes, but it's far fewer times.Right, right.Yes.I am, the reason I wanted you to go rather than me was because I'm with these guys.I think that, I think Caleb, my, you know, concerns about him, his ability to get, you know, not to focus on the wrong things as far as conversation or narratives, notwithstanding.I think as high as Drake's upside is Caleb's is higher.
01:40:37I think Caleb, if I were ranking quarterbacks in the league right now by all, they, they play their A triple plus game. What does it look like?the only guys who I definitively have a head of Caleb in that category are Patrick and Josh. And Lamar's a tough one because he's.Lamar's a triple plus game is really good. But he's also hurt right now and I don't.But so Lamar, the, but I have Caleb in that company if everything's rolling.I am not what Drake had going for him prior to this season was a, I would have said,
01:41:21listen, I think Caleb's got the higher ceiling, but he's also got the lower floor.I no longer can say Caleb has a lower floor. What we saw from Drake for the first three weeks of this seasonwas as low of a floor as any star quarterback in the league, and it was jarring and surprising to see.And so as far as, as I assumed this questionwas not specific to tomorrow night.
01:41:47It's just like, it's in general.and I think I think 25 teams in the league at minimum would say either one. We'll trade who we got right now for either one of these guys. They're both very good. And so, but I do think that what is not stunned, what has impressed me the most about Caleb, and this is why I'm giving you a hard time about,if I hadn't broken the goalpost,
01:42:16brew used to move on me about Brock Purdy,I don't think I'm being unfair about this.Okay, you don't think you're being, of course, because you're doing it.And you wouldn't do something intentionally unfair, but I think you are being unfair when all offseason, the conversation, the biggest knock on Caleb from you was.58% of completion. That it was worse than all these bad quarterbacks. And for him to have snap, go from 58 to 72, and now it's a new thing.thing rather than...
01:42:49I don't think...So here's why I'm not being unfair.I don't know if we have the PFF thing.Don't you think that your depthof target or your lowestthis is average...You don't think that has any relation to completion percentage.Lowest average
01:43:04death of target this season. So when Danny puts up a graphic that says, wow, Caleb leads the leaguein completion percentage. He's changedhis whole game. He's nowmost accurate quarterback.I think it's fair to say, hey,Brew, you know all the segments we do about all Bo Nix,
01:43:21how Ryan Fitzpatrick says Bo Nix refuses to throw the ball down the field?Well, Caleb's actually throwing it shower than him.I think it's a fair. You don't think there's any legitimate. No, I do.Hold on.I'm sorry, but I want to respond to this.I do think it's fair.
01:43:37But last year, when he was at 58%,and I made that exact argument that he was a three-point shooter, that because his depth of target was super low, long, which is what alongest depth of target last year.Buddy, I was not sayinglast year was better than Drake May. It wasunrelated to Drake May. Drake May was awesome
01:43:57last year. But I was makingthat exact argument that, hey,it is, the completionpercentage is going to be lowerbecause he is taking biggershots down the field. You didn't care at all. It was, I likeguys who complete passes. And
01:44:13the difference between him and Bo Nix iswhen he has been out there, two of thethree games with those very short passes, they are scoring at a crazy high level. That's it. It is being effective. It is short passes that are leading to touchdowns. So yes, I don't, I agree. Of course, one of the reason the completion percentage went up is becausethe depth of target went down. But to act like that is a negative when they are doing itwhile scoring. How many did they score last week? Thirty-one. Thirty-one and fifty-nine.obviously the game against the Vikings, no one on the offense played well.
01:44:52I think it's, I think it's unfair.You don't have to think it's unfair.I think it's unfair.I think it's a legitimate stat.It just gives more context to it.I mean, I give him credit for.Yeah.I think it's something.
01:45:07I'll meet you in the middle.I think he's become a more accurate passer this year. But certainly to puff your chest out and say he's now the most accurate quarterback,I think it's fair to say, like, he's also throwing the ball shorter than everybody in the league.I think, I don't think he will end the season leading the league in completion percentage.I think he is taking checkdowns more.He talked, he's said many times about, like, this conversation he had with Drew Breeze about,he's like, you know, the difference between completing 60% and 70% is three checkdowns a game.
01:45:35And so I think he's really, I think he's embracing it.But he is not all of a sudden going to stop hunting big place.Like, he is still looking at it.No, I think it's actually a positive for him because.it shows that he's letting the offense work for him rather than hunting for the bigevery play has got to be super so i i think it's a positive because we know he can make the big playtime now for some cool stats uh danny's got three of the coolest stats you've ever seen in yourentire life one of them might break the show and danny might be fighting a two front war on
01:46:08one of these stats so buckle up everybody danny your gloves your briefcase your sunglassesin your jacket.Ready to go.Look cooler than ever. That's what I thought, too.Want to get off your phone, buddy? Thanks. You know what's cool?
01:46:21What's cool? Thanks for asking. The fact that possession is nine-tenths of the law.I think that's the coolest.I want to say one more thing about the Bears and Ben Johnson.Do you know that right now their type of possession per game would be the best by any teamsince at least 1991?That's a good stat.
01:46:37That's as long as we can go back on the data.So it's the best in the history of the data. And it's even cooler because that's the thing he said before the year.they wanted to have.I know. The highest time. The longest time of possession.I'm sorry.
01:46:50If you have a bad defense, you know how you don't get your defense to be exposed, but have them not play defense. It's smart. It's pretty smart. But just to put that number into context, what is 36 minutes in one second? They are doubling up second place.I don't know what these numbers mean. The Vikings are the second best time of possession differential team in the NFL.
01:47:10They've had the ball for 36 minutes more than their opponents. The Bears have had the ball for an hour and 12 minutes more than their proponents of game time, not real time.I think this is a very cool stat.I don't want to poke a hole in it.But did the Jets game really because the Jets was like a store? The Jets game was a big one.The Falcons game was a big one.The Panthers game they won time of possession.
01:47:30The Eagles game they won time of possession.Yeah.Well, it was a little short pass.Great run game.It takes a lot of them to get on the field. All right. You got to throw 25 yards. All right.
01:47:42Four yards here.Sorry, sorry, it's the best in history. It's the best in history. He never the show is to get brew on your side. All right. Here we, buckle up for this one, ladies and gentlemen.Oh, what? What?
01:47:58What?What is the new sticker? There's too much creative energy being spent on the stickers.Don't worry about the OT's creative energy. You know what else is cool? What?Facts over feelings.Nick got a little in his feelings yesterday.
01:48:12when I dared question the resume of the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. He's like, their best win is better than the Bill's best win. That's all I said.Okay.Well, it is the easiest opponent win percentage of any team in the league this year other than the Giants. And it's the easiest 5-0 start schedule of any team since 2020.So I am just wondering if it's possible.I'm keeping my eye on the idea that the Chiefs might be this year's Patriots.
01:48:41Keeping my eye on it.Now, you guys get the Niners and the Seahawks and the Bills, and you get good teams. But this idea that you have some sort of juggernaut resume, I heard you mocking it during tears. And the voice that you did was.No, I didn't.It's a little high pitch.I didn't say any of that.I just said their best win is better.
01:49:00No, I didn't.That their best win is better than the bill's best win, which it is.According to your top 10.I didn't say they placed a hard schedule.I didn't say they've gone through juggernauts.I made one point. Then KW jumped in, which I still don't understand, and now you're going to down on it.
01:49:17You're like, let me.You're like, let's get mad about the two-sked.No, I'm just telling you exactly what I said.I know, I promise you, I know exactly who the Chiefs of play. They've played the winless dolphins. They've played the winless chargers. They've played your AFC South Pick champion cults. They've played the Raiders that you and I were at together,
01:49:34and they played the Broncos. The only point I made was that their best win is better than the Bill's best win,and I think we'll find out who they are over the course of the rest of the year. But if you want to throw in your archive of Chief Takes for the yearthat they might be this year's Patriots to go along with all of your already proven wrong Chiefsakes,be my guest.Well, listen, the Patriots made it to the AFC title game last year. No, they made it all the way to the Super Bowl, believe it or not.
01:50:01They were. They made it all the way to the Super Bowl.Apparently they were in the Super Bowl. All right. You guys know what else is cool? What's that? It's actually not cool.No.
01:50:14When Nick is right.Wow.Yeah, it's an olive branch after I knew that that was going to be upsetting.Listen, man, you called your shot. You said, what if Matt Stafford goes back to 2022 to 2024 before the MVP year? He's actually, to the decimal point in passer rating, regressed to the three years before the MVP season. And I frankly don't think it's very cool when Nick is right. But you got it.
01:50:40You call the shot on this. They don't.They got no shot, bro, of pulling out of this if he doesn't turn this around. And it's not like he's been their biggest problem.I'm not saying he's been terrible.No.But that's, but.I mean, their yards are great.
01:50:55The scoring's just not there. And remember, Devante's out now.The Devante being out is sneaky important in that I don't, do we think Puka's playing17 games?I don't want to predict injury, but 24 targets for a receiver is a bit above average.shots.He's played rough.I like Devante a lot, and I hope that he can bounce back from this injury.
01:51:18But Stafford is, like, Josh Allen's played games without his number one wide receiver. The Chiefs, I have to Google who the wide receivers are every week. The Patriots didn't have A.J. Brown. Now they, he comes back.Star wide receivers go down all the time. But Stafford's getting, it's like, oh, my.No, I don't think anybody's saying he's screwed without Devante. But I think a team that is built around its stars,
01:51:42what I'm saying is with Devante out,if Puka were to go down, that's all I was saying. No, I expect that's why I said, doesn't we expect Puka to play all 17?I expect them to be able to,they should be able to make do without Devante, but then it all relies on Puka
01:52:01who they treat like a crash test dummy half the time. But even if Puka doesn't go down, the thing that I said was the only potentialflaw I saw in the Rams was how top-heavythey are. And then Miles Garrett's been out.You see Alaric Jackson. Now, Devante Adams.Like, it's a star-laden team. Your stars go down. You don't have the depth. Before we move on, can I
01:52:18infringe on the segment for a momentto say something that's not cool? You're asking for sure. I learned it in real time. What was it? I shouldn't be drinking on theairbus. I'm out of here yellingat people. You're getting mad at everybody. It went from my bed. You're trying to get mad at everybody.
01:52:34Cameron just pounding a hell of a bat,Lou really turned my disposition.I was thinking, I was like, why did you get so mad?I'm like, oh, you're a little drinking.I have some advice. You gave me this advice, and I'll give it back to you.You need to get mad at Brew.Brew can't just sit here.
01:52:52Brew, I had to go on or you should have been like, brew, it's not true.Get the car game. No, the problem, the problem was bound in that trying to impress Dion Dawkins. My goodness. He swallowed your Zinn, too.And last the other thing, I don't even, yeah, I don't have a Zay, yeah, I'm in trouble.Coming up next.
01:53:12It's the Seahawks. It's the door of destiny.Exposing the chiefs. In the hospital.Oh, that's what that is?There's a finite amount of creative energy. We got to spend it on the gloves. We got plenty of creative energy to go around at the O-T.
01:53:25For the viewers.Welcome back to the O.T.hanging out with Coach Manjini.Let's go to Seattle. It's a long trip where the defending champs take on the Chiefs Sunday.night. Seahawks looking to end Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs undefeated start to the season. So Mahomes was asked about the Super Bowl winning Seahawks and their defense. Take a listen. They're good at every single level of the defense, defensive line, linebackers, secondary, everybody, and they have a great scheme.
01:53:52And so they're going to make you earn it every single drive. And it's not always going to be pretty, but you have to be consistent and not push it too far, but push it enough to make plays happen. This will be a great challenge for us. We have to go out there and match their energy and match their passion.and actually at a high level.Mahomes, not lying about their defense, coach.Even with the records and the losses and the turnovers from Darnoldthat's put them in some bad situations, first in yards, first and takeaways,
01:54:18top seven in third down, pass a rating,an opponent points per game for their defense. So do you think there's a decent chancethat the Seahawks could expose the undefeated chiefs on Sunday night?I think there's a chance. What's going to be interesting is their approach to stopping Kansas?the city. So are they going to commit to stopping Kenneth Walker and say, okay, we're going toput the ball in Patrick Mahomes's hands? And I never thought that I would would say that about
01:54:45Let Mahomes be here. Yeah, where you're looking at the Kansas City Chiefs and saying this, this is where we're going to put our energy, which is stopping the running game, and then seewhether or not Patrick and those receivers and Travis Kelsey can actually effectively, consistentlymove it down the field, throwing the ball. And then if you do get in that situation, where you have stopped the run effectively. Now can they get pressure on Patrick and create some sacks, generate some sacks?I would just say, I would assume the answer to that is yes, honestly.Like, Mike McDonald's a great coach.
01:55:19They have great players at all three levels of the defense.Mahomes is 100% right. But even if that isn't, like, their key, and you would know as like a guy who's actuallydefensive game planned, like, just look at what they've done against running backs this year. That's just kind of their bread and butter. They are not going to let, you know, McCaffrey one of the best. The other guys certainly not having great seasons.Amarian Hampton, one of the most disappointing players in football so far this year.
01:55:44But no running back has really gotten them going back to week eight of 2024.They have not allowed a running back to go for over 100 yards. So whether it is a point of emphasis or just they're really good at it,this is by far the toughest challenge that Kenneth Walker.is going to be going up against.Yeah, and this list is a little bit deceptivebecause none of those guys in the listare having a great year by any stretch.
01:56:11But again, they haven't allowed a 100-yard rushersince week 8 of 2024.So that's all of last year, too.Right.The other part of this game that's so great is Kenneth Walker, they let him leave the building, and his level of motivation is going to be extremely high, too,to pay him back for the fact that they didn't want to keep him
01:56:33or weren't willing to do what it took to keep them. But if they have to actually put extra defenders in the box, that should open up things for Patrick in the passing gamethat historically he just doesn't see.He hasn't seen, and he should be able to exploit him. With who?And I mean, I think the Chiefs are obviously, listen, they're undefeated.Mahomes look sharp.
01:56:59Kenneth Walker's an MVP candidate. They've got better protection.from Khalil Benson at left tackle than I thought he's an undrafted rookie who had to start over Justin Simmons. But Justin Simmons is not back for this game.Jalen Moore, their right tackle, could be out for this game with a concussion. It's trending in that direction. We'll see.Rishi Rice, little banged up.
01:57:18We know that Ty Thornton is obviously out with the huge injury that he suffered a few weeks back in the game against the Raiders. If Kenneth Walker is slowed down, I'm just not sure that the pass catchers are good enough in Kansas City.going up against Devin Witherspoon and Iman Worry and Seattle's defense and their passers.I just, I think this is an entirely different beast and Seahawks are desperate because they've had a few bad losses.Obviously, if Darnold turns the ball over, you know, different sort of game and he's been turning it over way too much. But I understand motivation and all that.I do think blowouts on the board in Seattle's direction because if you take Kenneth Walker away,I'm not sure there's enough else around them on that offense.
01:57:59Yeah, I just, there are a lot of years early.in New England where nobody was looking at a wide receiver and saying you had an elite group.Right, you still had Brady, they still have them a home.Yeah, but collectively we were able to get the ball to the guy that was open. And there's always going to be someone open on any given play. And Patrick is going to do a really good job of finding that guy.And the flip side of that is Sam Darnold has a chance to implode against this defense. And Kansas City is going to bring heat.
01:58:30And those turnovers could give short fields, and short fields can lead to points. So we're looking at this one-sided, but cumulatively, I think Seattle's going to have as much problems as anybody moving the ball against.Seattle has not been a jugger now. You're right.Donald's turned it over too much. They haven't really had a running game with Price and the injuries to Charbonnet losing Kenneth Walker. Two tackles potentially being out for Kansas City in that environment, prime time.Seattle, the noise, if they can take away Kenneth Walker.
01:59:03It's a fascinating game. And a blowout. You have blowouts on the board.Laying the two and a half. It's going to be featured in Parkin's picks. And frankly, I'm a little annoyed with Nick puffing his chest out around here. You're hoping a blowouts on the board.Yeah, man, I'm not feeling the conviction.
01:59:21I didn't make the case. They shut down Kenneth Walker.Backup tackles, no pass catchers, desperate Seattle team at home prime time.As long as Sam Donald doesn't turn the ball over. They don't have much of a running game.I'm just, listen, I'm honest. They're not a perfect team.I just think they're better than the Chiefs right now.
01:59:39All right, let's get into the NFC North.Packers, Lions, Sunday, 425 on Fox.Defense optional. There's going to be a ton of points in this game, despite a three-and-two record in being last in the NFC North.Jared Goff has been exceptional for Detroit's offense. This is Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur, on golf.to not throw an interception all season long five games in for them is pretty impressive.
02:00:05And he does a great job in terms of just if you give him a sliver of light, he's going to thread the needle. He does such a good job of getting the ball out of his hands. All right, Coach, I know the passer rating wasn't there, but I thought Jordan Love looked really good against Dallas. We disagreed a little bit yesterday. But do you think or expect Jordan Love to be able to keep up with golf and the Lions offense?Yeah, I know you really are high on love right now.And I'm...I like...
02:00:35I mean, I watch a game and they're dropping touchdown passes.I'm not going to kill a guy for passeratingbecause if they complete those passes that were dropped,it's passerating with Skyrocket.Yeah, and again, they weren't facing one of the staunchest defenses in the league.Hits the guy in the hands.Okay, there's that. But let's just take a look at where Jordan Love is this year
02:00:53versus where he's been historically. And I think you're going to be surprised by this, completion percentage is the lowest of his career. His TD percentage is the lowest of his career. His sack percentage is the highest of his career. And his password rating is the lowest of his career. And these are the years that he started.I understand.
02:01:11I get it.So this is where he is, and that's why it's hard for me to get excited. The positives for them is they could be getting a huge boost in the running game, which they haven't had all season long.So that, to me, could be a...the X factor. And then you're facing Detroit'sdefense, which makes a lot of people look good.
02:01:34They make a lot of people look good.It looks really good.Right. Well, so I have the numbers on that in just a second. Some of this, people make fun of me for it.I trust the eye test.Like, I watched every play, obviously, when he destroyed the Bears, then you watch every play when they're in prime time.
02:01:49I actually think he's played betterthan some of the numbers have recently.I think early in the season when he got no running back production, they were just,a little one-dimensional. That Vikings game really got away from them. In the second half, obviously, Brian Flores has made a lot of people look bad so far this year. No team has gottenless out of the running back position than Green Bay. So I do think it's taking him a few weeks to settlein. And I think Jordan Love is playing pretty well right now. You mentioned the Lions defense.
02:02:17So they are number four in pass or rating against. They have allowed the most passing yards per game. These are just the rudimentary stat lines and the quarterbacks, okay? Tyler Shuck.35 of 56 for three touchdowns.Josh Allen had five touchdowns.Gino Smith, 31 of 37 for three touchdowns.Your guy, Bryce, 329 yards and two touchdowns. And Jacoby Brissette couldn't quite get to 300, but he did have 292 and three touchdowns.Everybody eats on Detroit.
02:02:50They might lose 41-31 like Detroit lost to Buffalo.Like they might lose in a shootout, but I will be.floored if with Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, and Tucker Kraft in a dome, I will be flooredif Jordan Love doesn't have a good game in this spot. Yeah, the dead last in total yard, dead last, or 30th in points, dead last in past defense, all those things are problems. Andwith Jordan Love, when he's hot, he can get red hot. He has been a streaky player. Yeah, his number, it's either A plus plus or like a C typically as how it goes.for him. Yeah, they
02:03:29could hang 40. Now,whether or not, you know, they can stopDetroit from doing the same, that's a big question. So, you know,I love the numbers, but like, when you weregrade a player andBrady throws a passand the receiver drops it,
02:03:45you don't give the negative gradeto the quarterback. You give it, so like when I seethat pass a rating and then I seedropped wide open touchdowns,in my mind's eye, I'm thinking thatJordan Love was better than that. You know, because I see him making the throws. No, you're right.
02:04:01You don't grade a guy down for a drop.I would just say when you look at his numbers over the course of the season and their career lows, that to me was surprising. And to your eye test point, there's been a lot of games I've watched where I haven't felt like he played as strongly as he should have.Yeah, and I thought, again, I think that Atlanta game was weird. The Vikings game, he was terrible in the second half. That game got away from him, but recently, I think he's looked a lot better.I'll be honest.Wilde maybe confuses chips on the table in quarterback stock exchange, even though entirely different segments.
02:04:36He's mentioned it 100 times.Coach Manjini loves quarterback stock exchange. He's thinking about it on the flight out here.Who's atop it?Who's the best bet?Who's the sleeper? And then coach actually has a diversified portfolio. It's next on the O-T.
02:04:53The quarterback stock exchange is now open, as always, there is a lot of volatility in this market. So invest in these takes with caution.I'm investing big, though. In order to be eligible to be a buy, you have to be healthy and ready to go.So without further ado, let's get to the buys making his debut, C.J. Stroud.I'm as shocked as everyone. But frankly, I'm maybe two weeks late here.
02:05:18Sorry, C.J. Stroud has been great this year.Already has four games with a passer rating over 100.He had four games at that mark all of last year. He's more than held his own in shootouts with Josh Allen,Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence, the Texans,a dangerous two and four with CJ playing like this.At number nine, Jordan Love.Don't watch the box score, Coach.
02:05:39Love was great against Dallas.Just let down by a couple of drop touchdowns. He's one of two quarterbacks with multiple touchdowns in all six games. The other, Josh Allen.Jordan Love, I think he's about to go on a run.Number eight, your guy Bryce Young.Held up really well against the Stellar Eagles defense.Almost got to 300 yards, leads the NFL in yards per game.
02:06:0012 clear of second place in Matt Stafford. No reason Bryce can't be a back-to-back NFC South champion, and your guy might actually do it with a winning record this time. What do you move up? One spot from last week? Not very impressive. They are, what, fourth and points per game, second and total yards per game, first and past yards per game. You're a little bit like Nick.
02:06:18You just are slow to give the guy credit. It's a buy. He's in the top 10.He's ahead of some big games.Just take it for what it is.Let's get to number seven.Joe Burrow stays in the same spot during the buy.Massive week 7 matchup with the Ravens.
02:06:32Since he is in last place, every team in the AFC North has a winning record. There is no team in Burroughs career where he's throwing more touchdowns against than Baltimore.I got no clue if Lamar is playing that footage of him Limpin did not look great.Either way, though, for the Bengals to win, Joe Burrow needs to be the best quarterback on the field I expected to be.Now, making his return to the stock exchange, frankly, he was a little lonely without him.I hope you bought the dip.Caleb Williams is back. Now, Tom Brady called it the best game of his career.
02:07:01Who am I to argue with the goat?Caleb says it was Drew Breeze's perspective on taking the dump offso that's when it crystallized for him how to approach efficiency.Well, it's working.Caleb now leads the league in completion percentage.I don't care about average depth of target. We know Caleb's going to get the big plays as well, and now he's got the efficiency going.I am really happy for Caleb.
02:07:22And to his credit, it's obviously been a point of a,of contention andand what something he's had to work onand the fact that he's done it and was ableto produce at that level, that isvery impressive and chosen maturity. You're right, six might be too low.At number five, Jared Gough, honestly,
02:07:39this is still a buy low.I know it's too low.I know I couldn't put him higher. It's my stock exchange. But he was on a buy.Massive game against Green Bay.He lights it up. He's moving up.Gough is one of two quarterbacks in NFLhistory to have 13 and more
02:07:55touchdowns with no turnovers through five games, joining the aforementioned Drew Brees.Jared, I know. You should be higher.I'm assuming.Staying at number four, despite the loss, Trevor Lawrence. This is about how the quarterback plays, not the result of the team.It was another four touchdown game.He is now tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns.
02:08:14Trevor's eight game with three or more touchdowns in his last 13, which is tied for the leaguelead in that span.Trevor Lawrence just keeps producing. And then the original blue chip stock.is he top three in any category? No. He's seventh in passer rating. He's ninth in yardsper game and 12 guys have more touchdowns. But he's 5 and 0 for the third time in his career. He's getting better. Remember, coach, you invest pedigree, history. That stuff matters. If Mahomes is playing great and his team's winning, he's going to be up here at the top.
02:08:47Now, staying at number two on the stock exchange. No one doing more for their team than Josh Allen.DJ Moore, hurt, no problem. James Cook fumbling. No.problem. The defense keeps allowing 30. You'd think that would be a problem. The bills keep winning. In fact, the bills already have won four games when allowing 30 or more. Four wins when allowing30 or more. The NFL record for a season is five. Plus, I got to be honest, 15-yard shovel passes. They're pretty cool. And finally, the best buy of the week for the third straight week,Brock Purdy. What more can I say? MVP favorite, top five completion percentage, passing touchdowns,Pass a rating, yards per pass and time set.
02:09:27He's simply, I mean, top five's not moving. These guys keep winning and keep playing well.Brock Purdy, the best buy heading into week seven.Yeah, just don't watch the second half of that game. The 80 yards are, yeah, that was impressive.I mean, three-three announced that in the game were not great. And Trevor Lawrence stays where he was last week, right, coming off a loss? That's a team thing.
02:09:46This is about the quarterbacks. He had four touchdowns.Okay, so the pick in the end zone.Does that count?Picking the end zone counts. So then at the end of the game, when he's got that final drive, and he goes down, he throws an incompletion, stops the clock, throws an incompletion stops the clock, throws it for six yards,
02:10:00it's short of the first down, they have to kick a 60-yard field goal. They leave time on the clock. That wasn't on him.Well, I'm just, the two other incompletions work. The incompletions, he's partly responsible for it.So he gets out-duled in the UK, which is essentially his home game, home away from home, lose the game, takes points off the board, because he throws a pick in the end zone,
02:10:21can't close out the game, and he's ahead of Jared Gough. What was that historic site you gave?13 or more touchdowns, no picks through five games. How many times that happened?Twice, him and Drew Brees. But he's behind Trevor.I didn't want to flip Gough up on a buy week.
02:10:39Trevor lost.Again, it's a team thing versus quarterback thing.I said it on the front end.I know it's not fair to Jared Gough.I apologize. Can I give you one off the board? Can I give you one off the board?Drake May.
02:10:52I was surprised by this, too, actually. He leads the league in touchdowns over the last three weeks, leads the league in pass rating over the last three weeks.Getting A.J. Brown back didn't help because A.J. Brown wasn't catching the ball.He had to overcome A.J. Brown.Right. He had to overcome it. I imagine that's going to get better. And if the Bears can't dominate time of possession like they have,I do not think the Bears' defense is good.
02:11:15I think this could be a shootout Thursday night.I know the Patriots are a good defense.I think it's going to take 27 or more to win that game.I expect Drake May to look very good against the Bears tomorrow night.I see this game as being a battle of who protects the ball betterbecause both those guys have a chance to give the ball away.Drake obviously has had huge problems early in the season,so which one of these guys makes the colossal mistake or the big turnover and the big moment?
02:11:41Caleb doesn't give the ball away.He doesn't give the ball away. That is not a thing that he does.He doesn't.He didn't do it in college. He didn't do it as rookie year when he got sacked 68 times. He only had, what, six interceptions? He doesn't.
02:11:54He doesn't.All right.Well, then I guess it's a lock.You've heard it here first.It's an absolute lock.Caleb will never turn the ball over.He doesn't.It won't happen.
02:12:05And they're going to win by, what, 30?No, they're not going to win by 30.Caleb will not be reckless with the ball. They might lose. They might get outscored. He might get outplayed. He will not be reckless with the ball. That's not what he does.
02:12:19then this should be an easy win for Chicago because Drake May has been reckless.Drake May has been reckless with the ball. And incredibly reckless in the early part of the season. And the whole Patriots team has been reckless with the ball.Well, all right. You said it.I would never say that.Yeah.
02:12:35But you said it.All right.Coming up, LeBron made his debut. The NBA season's back.Plants and flags in the O.T.Time now for first things last. The NBA season tipped off yesterday.and while football is still heating up, it never hurts to plant some flags.
02:12:52Speaking of flags, Cooper is going to cement himself as a top 10 guyand find himself on first or second team all-MBA this year.Janus has been no stranger to an all-MBA list, but now he's a bit of a stranger in his new city, and I cannot wait to see the Greek freak motivated in South Beach. We've never seen Janus average more than six and a half assists per game, and I think with the ball in his hand more,he's in line for a career high,
02:13:14and a ton of triple doubles, and he'll make a real run at his third MVP.Speaking of awards, in one of the deepest rookie classes in league history, I see fourth overallpick Caleb Wilson taking home the hardware, giving Bulls fans, like me, their first truesuperstar since Derek Rose, even if it doesn't result in many wins in a loaded Easternconference.Seriously, look at the East. The champion Knicks returned most of the squad and they have to go through the Sixers, Celtics,
02:13:40Caves, Pistons, Heat, Raptors, Pacers, and Magic, who all should be really good. That's nine teams trying for the top six spots to avoid the play.in. Now, everyone wants to talk Sixers, and I get it. Seeing LeBron on a new team and a new roleat 41 is legitimately fascinating, and they'll be really good. I just can't quite get myself thereto trust that they'll be healthy enough to navigate that gauntlet come to playoffs. Speaking ofhealth, I think A.J. Mitchell wins sixth man of the year for the Thunder. Now, his healthswung the NBA finals last year as it was just too much for OKC to overcome the injuriesto him and Jalen Williams. It's maybe the key point to remember when handicapping all of this stuff.
02:14:18Health. Health matters. It doesn't take anything away from the Spurs that they got a depleted Thunder team. It happens.Just like when OKC got Denver without Aaron Gordon or when Tyrese Halliburton went out in game 7.History remembers the team that holds the hardware. So this year, I think the injury luck is back on OKC's side in between their depth and ability to add reinforcements at the deadline. The Thunder win the title. They'll still have to go through Wembe, who I expect to keep stacking defensive player of the year awards. You know the record for any one player in a career is four?I think he's going to win more than four straight. It's not even a fair fight. And finally, yes, even though the prediction went up in flames last year,
02:14:56I still believe in the Cavs.Don't forget they got Peyton Watson in a five-team blockbuster, which could end up being the most underrated move of the offseason. So there you go.Bookmark this, and we'll revisit in April to see which ones I got rightand maybe a few that I got wrong. That's all I've got. Thanks so much for hanging out with us on First Things First.
