Hello and welcome to another episode of the Regulation Podcast.
This is episode 124.
My name is Jeff.
With me as always, Eric, Nick, Gavin, and the other one, Andrew.
How's everybody doing?
Great, thanks.
Gavin?
Yeah.
What's going on?
Oh.
Are you referring to the fact that I was, I popped in almost late?
You got, you popped in like, face, Gavin popped in with nine seconds less.
to go.
That was so f***-face.
Well, I'll tell you, I'll tell you for why.
I was about 45% through a poo at 10.57, and I was panicking.
I had to rush the end of it.
I started the wiped with two minutes to go.
It was a, it was touch a go.
Does the podcast trigger your poop response?
Because you always seem to like run it right up to the wire.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's always like podcast poop for Gavin.
Well, I was doing a little bit of sort of behind the scenes work.
And then I ran out of time for my poo.
Usually I like to give a bit of like half an hour probably before the podcast for my poos.
I just, I feel like if Gavin's late, there's like a nine out of ten chance.
It's because of a shit.
Yeah.
I feel like it's like a jack going to the dentist excuse at this point.
Oh, no.
That has to hurt.
That has to really cut you to your core, Gavin.
It stings because it feels true.
Yeah.
Yeah, I find that offensive.
I was really surprised because this is like Gavin being almost late.
No pleasantries, no nothing coming in right under the wire is very f***-faced.
It's just very old school of doing that.
But it's also the opposite of what happened earlier this week where me and Gavin were independently both half an hour early to a meeting.
You guys were yelling at everybody in the Slack channel for a second.
And then you deleted your yell.
We were so cute.
I was at the airport.
Eric was pretty bad.
Because we got there, we got to the meeting at 11.
Like, obviously, you know.
And then we were just like, I saw Eric in there as the only one.
And usually there's a, there's pleasantries going on.
Yeah.
You can see people's names of the Discord before you join.
I got in there.
I was like, wait, where is everyone?
What's going on?
And then Eric, as we were talking and wondering where everyone was,
Eric was getting more and more annoyed, started typing.
Typing in the Slack.
And then it was like, oh, it's, uh,
It's an 1130.
And I was like, oh, so I checked the candle.
I was like, oh, it does say 11.30.
And then I said to Eric, oh, it's 11.30 every week.
Every week.
Yeah, every single week.
It's always been 11.
It's always been 11.30.
Yeah.
And then we both erupted into not being able to speak laughing and then just both left the discord for half and out.
You left the discord like somebody told a joke and answered the light?
But I wonder.
I don't think I've ever been early to the meeting.
And the fact that two of us were, what happened?
Oh, I've been early to that meeting.
Oh, you have by accident?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Is it because you thought it was 11 and not 1130s?
Yes, 100%.
Huh.
I think Jeff and I have both showed up once to a meeting
and had the same thing that you two had.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
So it's the same, but probably you both got less mad than Eric did.
Oh, yeah, we weren't mad.
No madness.
We were more embarrassed.
Everybody.
and then realized, oh, shit, it's, why do we think that?
That was months ago, though.
That was maybe a year ago.
But yeah, definitely done that.
I think the confusion comes from the meeting being at 1130, but the recordings being at 11.
Yeah, everything else is at 11.
But 1130 for that meeting has really worked out for us.
And this is the first time I've ever gone that early to go.
All right, meeting time.
I don't know what happened, man.
Dude, wild.
wild just like where is everyone oh never mind shit
I'm I'm sad I miss the anger messages
it was just it was so it was so bizarre I like tagged everyone
I was just going like what what's happened like where is everyone
like what's going on and then just started deleting
it wasn't even yeah you were like hey where is everybody it was like what the
fuck are you guys yep dude it was as I saw it hit and then it went deleted I was I was
goodbye.
And then I just saw
that I just like a word bubble for like two minutes.
I waited for it to come in.
It's pretty funny.
Man,
how long were you guys in there before you realized?
One minute?
Like we,
it was 11.01 and I was
escalated messages.
Dude.
It was because we're not like,
we're very timely.
This is,
I really appreciate how timely we are as a show.
We don't keep each other waiting.
We're like,
we're jumping on top of stuff.
It's,
it's great.
I love how.
on time we are for all of our recordings and everything that we do. But like, it is, it is great because
I remember at Rouss the teeth, I got pretty good at figuring out the exact amount of time to be late
by based on previous experiences. Like, million dollars, but you can always be 45 minutes later than
your call time for that show. Because chances are, you'll get there 45 minutes later. And then within
about 15, 20 minutes, they'll be like, all right, let's, uh, let's get you.
in makeup or whatever or get clothes on or whatever.
Yeah, we're running about an hour late today because Gavin didn't show up, so pushed everything
else back.
But we're just trying to get it.
We're just trying to rush it through when he gets in.
I can promise you, I never delayed that show a single time.
I could also promise you that during the first 18 of them, I wasted potentially 30 hours
of my life.
I'm not going to argue with you there.
I think I did one shoot and I would be commiserate with my experience.
It was just a lot of different setups, which caused.
a lot of logistics and sitting around.
Also, the real thing about it, too, is, like,
there is nothing that feels better than being on time
and having the moral superiority for hang over with people
when they're late.
Like, that is like, that's like, that's what adrenachrome is.
That's the fucking, yeah, that's the, that's what's really going on.
That's the, that's the power right there.
You don't want to lose that.
Power of time.
It's the power of time.
It is, and I'm very, I'm very into that.
Do you, Gavin, and I guess Jeff, miss being on set for that, like having, not necessarily
like the call times and stuff, but like filming and being on set and all of that stuff.
Is that something you guys missed or not?
Go ahead.
Not really.
I feel like I've definitely done that.
It was, that was a fun show to make, though.
Like, I enjoyed the actual making it part.
But just the having to sit about between the setups was pretty rough, especially when a lot
the time, I was like five minutes away from the Achievement Hunter office, but I was never
allowed to just pop back in and keep doing stuff in there. I hate all things related to real
production. The word set already turns me off. If I had my way, rooster teeth would have never
recorded audio and videos separately in a live action way. Everything would have been done on phones.
Like, I never liked any of it. I hated every second of it. Or I shouldn't say I hated it. I
tolerated a lot of it, but I didn't, I didn't hate all of it. But yeah, it's not my,
that's not my speed at all. I very, very rarely. I enjoyed some, I genuinely enjoyed some moments
in Haunter, but they're very, they were far, few and far between. Honto was real.
You got, you had to sit on your own a lot in that one, though. I did. That's fine. Like,
that was the best of the best, honestly, but like live action, uh, do anything narrative having to
read line, or like run lines, do an, I, like, perform with 30 people looking at you
and have to get it right or you're wasting their time.
Meanwhile, they're all about to waste your time anyway,
so what's a fucking matter?
Yeah, I just, I'm not built for live action production.
I've always hated it.
Why'd you keep pitching of that?
What'd you say?
Why'd you keep pitching stuff, like weird place and all that?
It was my job.
I want to do the best possible...
I want to do my job.
That was literally my job.
They come to you and they say,
we need a live action show.
Here's the budget.
Give us the best of your ideas.
That's my job to do that.
Fat play.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
I'm sure
quarterbacks don't like
getting sacked,
but they go in knowing
it's a part of their job
and they're gonna fucking do it.
Yeah,
but they're not pitching,
getting sacked.
They're not going into
watch film and going,
guys,
guys,
I got an idea.
Here's my big idea.
Let them hit me as hard
as they can over and over.
Sometimes they do.
Andrew Luck was super into it
and that's probably why he retired
as early as he did.
He famously was like,
he'd say like,
go,
good sack.
like people that would get him.
Fuck, what was I going to say?
I was going to add a question.
Oh, did the people know, Gavin,
that you're going to be 45 minutes light?
Did anyone on the production side
know your own internal scheduling?
Oh, no, you can't let them know
because then they'll account for it.
Gavin's right.
Like, he's right about that.
They will, they'll build it in,
and it'll be a whole thing,
and then you've wasted the 45,
like, then what's the point?
Because they'll move everything back
because they think they're going to be on time,
It never once has a production been on time ever.
Well, they're very distracted.
It's not like I would show up 45 minutes later.
They'd be like, hey, I would usually just walk in.
Everyone would be doing all their work.
And then I would just sit down with someone else who's in it.
And I'd just be like, how long are you better?
I'm like, oh, 45 minutes.
I made a joke earlier about it, but Gavin is 125% right.
That is exactly how it goes.
You can't get there late enough.
Like, yeah.
That's pretty true.
I've never been part of a production that was just like,
well, okay, we said 10 and we're starting, it's 10, so let's do it.
Like, it's never happened.
It's just never happened.
I scheduled an event once with some friends,
and I was annoyed with one of them because they made it be earlier than it needed to be
out of the fear of it being late.
And I was like, you're causing the scheduling issue.
You're speculating on that.
Somebody would be late, so it's early.
It was like just a scramble to get it organized,
because somebody wanted it to be an hour early
because they didn't want it to run late.
But they were available at the hour
it was supposed to be originally pitched on.
I was wondering if there is ever a scenario like that
on the production side.
I was like, fuck.
Gavin's not going to be here for 45 minutes
or just knowing, but it makes sense.
Yeah, I mean, you would get a different number
for each production.
Like Achievement Hunter, don't need to allow for any time.
Although if it's a solo recording
between me and Michael,
I could probably be 10 minutes late.
It's about right.
Hey, hey, hey, you can still do that.
Does Michael still get up to pee the second you yell record?
Yeah, hey, oh, we're all sitting down here, yep, and then he sits down for a second,
and then he stands up and he's like, we just, no, every time.
You can set your watch to that dude's dick.
It's fucking crazy.
Rolling tape here, man, come on.
There's five other people that just have.
We all just sat down. So we just...
Everybody else went in the bathroom a half hour ago.
Yeah, play on my phone. All right. Sounds good.
That's all you can do.
We don't really have anything like that at this company, I don't think.
No, again, we're timely, but we also don't have larger productions.
Yeah, we stripped away everything that's not fun about what we do.
I agree.
For the most part. I mean, there are some things that aren't fun that we just have to do, like accounting.
But for the most part, I think we got everything as efficient as possible.
Yeah.
It is crazy to think that this is quite a well-oiled machine.
It's a funny-looking jack machine, but it's got oil.
Yeah.
I think that's...
There is oil.
It still squeaks really loudly, but there's a ton of oil.
The part of the machine that I'm in has the most friction and needs the most oil, I think.
I agree.
Yeah, 100%.
I was at the coffee shop this morning,
you know, per my usual Thursday routine,
prepping my notes.
And you know that scene in Always Sunny
when Charlie and Mac are across the Gugino's Italian restaurant
for each other and they lock eyes?
I had that with another person today at the coffee shop.
And I saw my doppelganger and I became transfixed
looking at this other person.
And so I took a photo and I'm going to share it with you guys.
I don't think the other person was fine.
I saw myself
and I've never felt more seen and more like
I've seen me in my entire life.
Oh, this is going to be great.
That's me.
Oh, you're a frog.
You're a frog chilling listening to a walkman?
This is you in Zen mode. You're the cassette frog?
Yeah, I'm a little frog with my cute little hips,
but my feet stuck in the water, laid back.
I think I'm frog from frog and toad, actually.
I think the design is pretty dead on.
And yeah, I just stared at that goddamn frog in that little pond today for about five minutes and realized, what are you doing?
I was just like, I was transfixed by the frog.
And I realized I was looking back at myself.
So you're Jeff the Frog.
I am not Jeff the Frog.
I didn't make that association at all.
I'm starting to regret taking the photo.
You got me.
That's what, yeah, I'm Frog from Frog and Toad.
Which was Millie's favorite book when she was a kid.
You're Jeff the Frog.
frog, do you have any age back tips?
I'm not... You still need age back tips?
How many age did you have this morning, Jeff the frog?
Gavin, I need you to send me pictures of your
return unit.
No, I didn't have any eggs today.
No, I'm not Jeff the Frog. It's not a Mark the Frog thing.
It's just like...
Jeff the Frog?
God damn it, this would not go up.
I think it's Jeff the Frog.
The spirit of that frog is imbued in me.
We are both chilled. That is a Zen frog.
I'm a Zen dude.
You lost some Zen.
I'd say when we did the
You'd dead your bodyguard stream
the previous Friday.
I recovered it immediately.
That was a great cover
and I think Andrew lost a lot of Zen.
I can have a Zen dip
but I can, and also I'd like to point out
I'd like to point out I lost Zen
when the game cheated.
And I went back and I watched
and it's pretty clear that game cheated
and killed me.
Is that where you just died out of nowhere?
I just died.
You lost Zen a couple other times.
Well, you guys tried to kill me
by keeping me pushing me forward
into a highway after you.
I forgot about that.
That was frustrating.
But for the most part, yeah, no, I mean, there's some Zen dips,
but it's all about how you recover, you know?
Peaks and valleys.
I had to leave early for helping some wedding stuff or whatever.
But I heard that the game type we were playing,
you dead your bodyguard, is in fact not real.
Doesn't exist, really.
And none of it's right.
And so what happened?
What happened?
the description of the achievement
isn't actually how the achievement works
is what we learned.
What's the exact description?
What's the exact?
I didn't have it in front of me.
I could pull it up.
Please do.
Let's give me a second.
Let's be factual about this.
Yeah, let's be, we've got to be very factual.
There's no indication of,
even beyond that, it is kind of a broken thing.
Because beyond, so to describe the issues,
the concept of you dead, your bodyguard,
you're trying to beat this campaign without gnawing.
Whoever dies then becomes a bodyguard for those who are still alive.
However, there are levels in which you need to hold X to end the level.
And in those scenarios, only the person who holds X gets credit for the law.
What?
I was told yesterday by someone in my chat that they double-checked that and that's not the case.
That everybody got credit.
That they verified themselves over the weekend.
They apologized and said, if that was the case, it no longer is that everybody got credit.
I don't think we ever saw any evidence of that.
We didn't, we didn't.
Yeah, it was something we were told.
But a lot of the stuff we were told ended up being right.
100%.
Do you have it, Gavin, or do you want me to read it?
Oh, Eric posted it, a complete entire remix campaign without dying.
Complete an entire remix campaign without dying.
There's no specifics of...
You can play it in co-ops, so it feels weird that a death would be shared across all things.
Wait, is that what it is?
Yes, so if anyone dies, nobody gets credit.
which was somebody brought up in the chat
earlier in the run and it was kind of
dismissed but they were 100% right
well yeah Eric dismissed it as nonsense
because that's not what I
that we have been playing
an invented game type that I was told
this is how it is. It's a cool game type though
it was a great game type yeah
it was less you're dead your bodyguard and more
you're dead we dead yeah you dead we dead
you dead we dead you dead restart
yeah so we had to really lock in
and it was a thing of like
Nobody can die.
And we had some death.
Some people died.
It did morph.
We did change it.
We did create,
because like a phoenix,
out of the ashes of you dead,
your bodyguard,
we created what I think might be,
maybe not a better idea,
but on par with that original idea,
which is you dead,
your dollar.
So now,
from that point on,
anytime anybody died,
they have to put a dollar in the freezer
because that's where we're going to keep
all the money until we decide what to do with it.
Yeah,
so far,
I think Nick, Jeff,
and myself all technically have a dollar in the freezer.
Yeah, I need to put mine in, but...
Wait, why are we putting it in the freezer?
Got to put somewhere.
Yeah, it's the safest place.
The freezer is the safest place?
We agree, thanks for saying that.
Nobody looks in the freezer for money.
The rats can't get it.
Yeah, the rats definitely can't get it.
So anyway, now we have a new series called You Dead Ya Dollar.
And at some point, we're going to figure out what to do with all the dollars.
That mostly will come from me, I assume.
since we started your dead your dollar
I'm just extra pleased that we didn't know about that concept
while we were playing gears
oh my god
oh my god I'd have to sell my house
it'd be impossible I just keep hearing about this
what happened
we're traumatized
spent six hours in a room trying to kill a boss
and uh it was bad
and nobody was to blame
we all equally sucked
yeah
yeah for sure
is all equally bad
but I do think it was equally bad
I do agree
it was a thing that were like
you didn't understand
what other people were doing
at times
not in the sense of like
why are you doing it that way
but literally like
I don't know what their job
like I don't know what they're doing
like Gavin run into the corner
and I had no idea what his role was
yeah like Andrew and I were on one side
for about three hours
and Gavin's on the other
and I just had no idea
what even Gavin's side of the map looked like
yeah no clue
for a while yeah
we got that
We figured it out.
I'm excited for that to come out.
Well, one day eventually come out.
Good luck to the editor.
Yeah, it's a lot.
Do we just leave it?
Like, I guess, do we just, like, leave that, like, really, really long?
Do you try to, like, convince it?
Yeah, it's going to be really, really long, but still.
Yeah, the movie.
It's just a lot.
The movie.
The movie, it's like watching all three Lord of the Rings back to back.
Oh, no.
You know, it can be a really scary and intimidating thing starting your own business.
We created regulation from the ashes of a previous
business and we had to hit the ground running. And one of the ways we were able to do that was with
Shopify. E-commerce and merchandise is an important part of any, virtually any online business,
but it is integral to ours. As you know, we're not just selling t-shirts. We're selling
Gerplers. We're selling a piece of the content. We're selling the joke that we're all creating
together. And we take it very, we take dumb very seriously. That's why Shopify is the only
e-commerce solution that we would even consider using when we started our company. And I'm so glad that we
did because it works so well. It is so seamless. When we have something as monumental as a Gerbler drop,
when we know we're going to be pushing a ton of traffic through our e-commerce store all at once.
We sleep well at night the night before because we know Shopify can handle it. And we know
that even dumb guys like us are smart enough to navigate and use it.
it because it is so intuitive and user friendly.
It takes so much stress off of our plate.
I ran the e-commerce department of rooster teeth for many years.
I went from platform to platform to platform until finally rooster teeth found Shopify.
And that was it.
We were done from that point on.
And for every business I create from regulation on, I will be using Shopify.
And I cannot recommend them highly enough.
So if you're ready to hear the of your phone,

We had a thing end.
Yesterday was the final day of our summer movie battle.
It's over.
I'd have a question.
Just to relate to it.
Nicky Gavin, did you guys see any movies this summer?
I feel like you may have, but you never reported any of them.
I thought I did.
Nope.
No.
I saw a Toy Story.
No, I don't think I saw any of them.
Wow.
I'm surprised.
I would go more if the Alamo wasn't a piece of shit.
I get it.
Why?
You can just simply watch them at home or on your phone in the bathtub.
Or go to the movie theater at the mall.
They have pizza and hot dogs too.
That's true.
Pizza and hot dogs, Gavin.
I like watching stuff at home these days.
So do I.
Love it.
Yeah, we know.
Pretty clear.
Love it.
Big fan of it.
Oh, Nick has proved you wrong.
Yeah.
Nick has watched.
Oh, my God.
So how can I trust this count, Andrew?
Yeah.
I thought you saw it and I scrolled through and I didn't see the post on it.
But good to know.
What other post didn't you see?
Wow.
Yeah, did you count my two times getting popcorn outside of this?
the theater?
Yeah, did you count my three?
We can review if there's any disputes.
We're welcome to go to the chat later and review.
Wait, hang on.
Nick, what day did you post that on?
Let's see.
Yeah, watch sheep detectives.
July 6th.
Yep.
He said watch sheep detectives.
How dare it make me feel?
Yeah, dude.
Oh, yeah.
I shouldn't feel for sheep.
What the fuck?
Oh.
You felt from that?
Did you not?
Oh, you haven't seen.
I've felt the feel was overrated in that movie personally.
What do you mean?
I heard a lot about the feel in that movie, and it is a cute movie, but I did not think the feel was as impactful as I was told it would be.
Well, no, maybe I felt it because I was watching it with my kid, and there's like a neglected sheep kid in the movie.
Oh, I think we're talking about different feels.
Did you, do you feel like you neglect your kid?
No, but I'd hate for that to happen to him.
That's true. That is true.
What was the feel you felt, Andrew?
It was the confusion.
There was a character death that I assumed was the feel that most people were referring to.
I mean, Hugh Jackman.
Hugh Jackman, yeah. People were really sad.
They're like, I thought he was Wolverine.
I thought he was immune to everything, but no fucking dead.
Just immediately dead.
It's Wolverine.
But adamantium or whatever, but no, dead.
Adamanium.
Adam, Adam,
Antimidium?
Unfortunately, in the sheep detectives.
He was only made of badamantium.
Hell yeah, hell yeah, hell yeah.
No, that was better than anything you guys had.
Zen?
Gavin agrees.
I'm Zen.
That was great.
Bad amintium is great.
That was great.
Yeah, I ain't ruin that.
I did see two of these.
I saw the Furious and Jackass 5.
And for some reason didn't see the Odyssey.
I can't.
You didn't...
What?
I had tickets for it
and then I went out of town
had to cancel them
and then I just never
never had a slot open up.
Wow, that's honestly shocking
that you didn't see.
That's like the most Gavin movie
that came out this summer.
Oh, for sure.
Yeah, and it's IMAX.
I even tried to,
when I was going to England,
I tried to book it for the IMAX
in Waterloo and that was all,
that was fully booked
the entire time I was back.
Like two months after it came out.
Wow.
Damn.
Do you think anyone tried to sneak into the Odyssey via Trojan horse?
Like somebody walked in with their own little Trojan horse with somebody on the inside to see it?
Oh, that's a great idea.
Little eyes through the, through the horse eyes.
Well, the horse's eyes are on the side, aren't they?
Yeah, you'd have to do them in the front on this one.
This is a predator horse.
This is a horse.
This is a horse that's looking for prey.
This horse is so mean.
Its eyes have shifted to the front.
I'm imagining it's so blatant.
Sort of like how the minions eyes are like you know how big and circular they're like just the front of the horse
Yeah what Eric just supposed to a horse with very straight looking serious eye
Oh my god
Dude predator horses is crazy
I would love to see I'd like to see apex predators of all these different prey animals
I want to see a horse that's also a predator the alien predator and it doesn't exist and I've been googling it in there
With the mouth.
Can some are
some people
talented
make them
a predator war
people
people
will be making it
on
but now
just looking
at different animals
with
the eyes
moved to the front
the pigeon
the pigeon
with eyes
in the front
is so crazy
if
unsettling
would an alien
horse
Jeff have
little horse head shoot out of its metal?
Like, what would be the tongue?
Well, an alien horse would, yeah, probably.
Or it'd have like another dick in its horse dick, maybe.
What?
Yeah, I don't like that.
Wow.
I didn't realize the Trojan horse was an Odyssey thing.
There are a lot of things in fantasy that I'm realizing are from the Odyssey as someone
who didn't know that.
Like Medusa or whatever, that's in the Odyssey, right?
That's an Odyssey thing.
You know, you see those TikToks from like people that are like,
actually this isn't really true
and it was
that never actually happened
and it was,
I don't know
it was true,
but somebody was saying
that the,
the treasure horse thing
was barely ever mentioned
in the Odyssey
and it's a real small part
of the story
and it really got made bigger
over time
and may not,
may have been misinterpreted.
I just looked up
at what Medusa was from
and does not specifically
mention Medusa in the Odyssey.
Oh, the Cyclops?
That's in the Odyssey,
right?
That's true.
That's less snake hair
and more one eye.
And then like the siren
or whatever.
Yeah.
They have bogs in that horse.
No.
No.
No, they talk about it specifically
where they were like
shitting and pissing.
Oh.
Yeah.
How many people
men have been in that horse?
I don't remember.
I think it was almost like
two dozen, I think.
It was like four score or something.
Yeah, either that.
And they were in there seven years ago.
It's fucked up.
Yeah, but you would have been okay, Gavin,
because they weren't recording podcasts.
Yeah.
They should have recorded a podcast.
Just like the idea of it.
All right, everyone take a shit
before we can climb into the horse.
As soon as Michael sits down, he's like,
I don't think of this.
Everybody move.
Bill forgot the pee.
Bill ruined it for everybody.
You know, there's dudes, too, that are like,
it's okay if Greg's shits.
His shits aren't bad, but Steve is not allowed to shit.
Yeah, that's you, man.
Yeah, you're Steve, dude.
Oh, I'm aware.
I'm aware.
I didn't need to throw my name to it.
I thought it was fine, but okay.
It's specific about it.
It was a shit heavy week with the,
But that diarrhea incident of that thing.
What?
What?
I know you're talking about the woman in competition.
Yeah, she shattled over everything and then won the money.
Everybody slipped and fell in her shit.
Oh, that's terrible.
They've changed the rules now.
Nobody's allowed to shit anymore at that competition.
I don't think that need, that's a given.
Yeah.
Apparently it wasn't.
I think that's sort of common in like long distance running.
Well, that just happens.
It was, I think, more that the shit was all over the machines that everyone had to use after and stuff.
Oh, God.
I didn't, I just, it was a thing I scrolled by.
It affected other competitors' ability to continue.
Yeah, maybe if you're, like, outside and you're running 100 miles, then you might expect a little bit.
Yeah, I just thought it was like a marathon type thing.
Like pretty, pretty common, like, all those tour to France dudes are pissing all over themselves on the bike.
That, that's pretty common, but yeah.
Not really, they're not, they're not, like, pissing on their neighbors or driving by.
Although, if it's not specifically disallowed, they should give it a shot, maybe.
I don't know.
There's already rules about diarrhea and stuff.
You can't go for a swim.
But, you know, it's, it's a, I have some respect.
What do you mean by that?
Jeff can never swim again.
Yeah, it's been, I haven't been allowed to swim in 12 years.
You never see one of those signs that are at the pool?
Like, don't swim in this pool if you've got the shits.
If you've had diarrhea in the last two weeks, you're not allowed to swim in this pool.
Is it is on like almost every hotel?
Pool sign.
Oh, yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
At least in America.
I've never seen that.
Yeah, it just looks like this.
There might be different diarrhea laws in Canada.
It's just like that.
I just threw the sign up.
That's crazy.
I've never seen that in my life.
I thought that was a bit.
I thought that was a joke when it was mentioned earlier.
In a previous upset.
That's crazy.
Oh, he already talked about shit in pools recently.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Talked about Jeff's Limit.
Yeah.
And if he'd be allowed or not.
Right.
He's not.
I'm not.
But you keep your fucking mouth shut and everybody's going to be just fine.
Yeah.
Keep your mouth shut.
There's diarrhea in this pool.
I'm not diarrhea in any fucking pools.
I'm on purpose.
I think you would designate if you're having the piss and shit in a horse,
there'd be a piss and shit section,
although 50 people in one horse.
It's probably not spacious.
Maybe like the back right leg.
I would build a little trap door right under his tail where his butthole is.
I was just going to say the tail.
And then all the people would be like, man, this is realistic.
Yeah, what the fuck?
This is realistic.
How have they done that?
That's amazing.
It's incredible.
Why did they do it?
It's not how.
It's more why.
Oh, this horse had corn.
Oh.
Previce of pushing a horse down a beach and they're just being a piss trail behind it as they're moving it.
What a gift.
Was it the sheep or the pig that we had poop, Gavin?
I think it was the sheep.
The sheep?
What?
I don't know.
We went in the sheep's anus.
We had to go up the poop
to get into one of them though.
We made a giant sheep
and a giant pig
and you would enter through their anus
and one of them pooped.
Yeah.
We made one of them shoot poop out.
This isn't an Odyssey scenario
which Jeff and Gavin made a pig
that they had to sneak into.
Yeah.
And there was shit in the pig.
I don't know it would be the best animal
to hide in.
Ooh, pig.
think? Pig.
Impedient.
Immediately thought pig.
Yeah, I mean,
elephant,
spacious.
Oh, that'd be big.
Whale?
Yeah, but whalefall
seems scary.
Like, it's eating that guy,
you know?
I love that guy's career
so much.
I'm so excited to find out
what happens next to him
that is horrible.
He's had such a generational
run of guys
that are in weirdly bad spots.
He did weapons,
and now he's in Resident Evil,
and his next movie
is about getting swallowed
by a whale.
Like that's just as three different characters going through things.
Oh, Abrams?
Impressive.
Yes.
The lead actor of Resident Evil.
Just it.
I was trying to think of like another actor that had like a three movie run of dealing with the most insane, insane specific odd issues.
Which is zombies and whale swallowing.
That's a pretty bad run.
Yeah.
Whale swallowing.
A whale, you could just truly not get out of, uh, through the side.
But I think a pig I could bust through.
Really?
You're like, I want out of this pig.
Let me out of this pig.
I think I would just have to turn
sideways and just go through the ribs.
Yeah.
Through the delicious, delicious ribs, yeah.
He's going to eat your way out.
Yeah.
I feel like I would more likely escape a whale
than a pig, personally.
You could walk out of a whale, yeah.
Yeah, it's just so big.
Now, whale fall's going to suck.
He just immediately exists.
Oh, man, this is stupid.
and he just gets up and walks out.
Yeah.
A pig fall?
Call me.
It is interesting that whales are like the animal that we've seen people be inside the most.
Well, I think it's just because it's the biggest animal.
Yeah, no, a lot of us have been in by like a pigeon.
Well, if it had those four, if it had the forward-facing eyes, we might.
If it could come and see us.
It's an exotic bird.
Doesn't get more exotic than that.
It doesn't.
Yeah, okay.
So Nick saw sheep detectives.
Yeah.
I'm excited to talk about these movies when we do.
We're going to record the recap after this.
We'll record a supplemental, a recap for the summer movie league.
So if you're waiting to see how all that went down and everything, stay tuned.
We'll have a supplemental out for that very soon.
Pretty soon.
Because we're on top of it.
I think the 27th that should be out.
That's when it's scheduled.
And it'll be on YouTube.
It'll be free for everyone.
It's not going to be behind the paywall.
I also want to give credit to Jeff.
Thank you.
Really?
Mr. Zen and the work he's been doing on goof-news.
Oh.
Yeah, dude.
It's so good.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
You've been really carrying it over the line.
We're in the, I guess, getting close to the final stages, I'd say.
You've put so much work in.
I think we're probably like 70% of the way through with it, you know?
Thank you.
Yeah, I've been, we talked.
it would be fun after with all the fun of coffee news we thought it would be fun to create our
own version of it so i've been building our version of goof news which means you know coming up with
fun facts and little bits to write about but also you know ads for businesses that might
add that might be interested in advertising and goof news and whatnot and so uh and a lot of those
businesses you know you got to build the business out too you can't you can't just make an ad
you got to you got to build an entire industry behind it so it's taken a little bit of time
but I'm very excited.
And I think the idea is hopefully we can release it online for free, obviously, for everybody,
but also maybe like print it some out and throw them in orders or something as we go.
Oh, I love that.
That's fantastic.
I think it's a really good idea.
I'm very impressed with a lot of the stuff that you have in there where you are,
you're thinking in like a very, you know, there's like a narrow lane that you can get in with this
where it's like, you know, I want to mimic this, like one to one or whatever.
you're mimicking it in a way that is so
like truthful to this show
that when I scroll through it, it's so much fun to see.
I really, really, really like it.
I think it's so cool.
You're doing a great job.
Wow, thank you very much.
That was very nice of you all to say.
I really appreciate it.
I've had a lot of fun doing it.
And you guys have helped a lot, and so I appreciate it.
You took a screenshot from an Xbox game, I think, for an ad,
and I was very impressed by that.
Nick gave me that.
That was pretty cool.
Oh, that's awesome.
I was happy to help.
Was that water park simulator?
Oh, Nick gave me the ad,
Nick gave me a screenshot for
roadside research.
I did the one for water park simulator.
The goof and go.
Yeah.
Because you know, these are businesses
that exist in goof world, so.
I have a question
for you, Jeff.
I guess anyone can answer.
I feel like you're the most qualified.
Have you ever, in your time of breaking
cards in the break show?
I opened a box of hockey cards
relatively recently.
And I got a hit.
I got a massive hit out of it.
But it's a player
that I now hate.
How do you process that?
Like how...
I didn't know how to feel.
Well, you should sell it.
What do you hate him for?
They were a Knoch
and then they demanded out
and they've been kind of a mess.
And then everything they've done
since leaving the franchise
has not been great.
I got a really...
Rare Quinn Hughes autograph card.
He's like one of the best defensemen in the league.
Yeah, flog it.
I would say if he's tied to my team, I hold on to it
because the team's more important than the player.
Like if it was a Celtic, I'd probably hold on to it.
But if it's just some dickhead I don't like,
in theory, I would sell it and just try to, you know,
use that money to buy somebody I like.
Interesting. Okay.
It's a funny card because he's not wearing a jersey in it.
So he got traded mid-season.
So it was a thing where I was like,
Well, if he is wearing the Canucks jersey, no Canucks fan wants him.
And the team that he's currently on, Minnesota,
I don't imagine anyone who is a Minnesota fan would want him in a jersey.
So it's kind of perfect.
It's him just holding a trophy.
That's kind of how I've been able to get all these kind of rarer Marcus Smart cards
because nobody wants Marcus Smart on the Washington Wizards cards.
He barely played for them anyway.
So it's like, there's no, you know, I'm not having, I'm not fighting people for those.
It was just such a conflicting thing of emotion of like,
Oh, this is clearly a case hit.
But it's also like, I hate this guy.
I don't like this guy.
Yeah, we've unfortunately pulled some case hit level hits on the break show in the past of people who have been very canceled.
Not just unlikable, but like, oh, canceled their own value in the card too.
And you're like, I guess fucking shred this.
Oh, wow.
It is interesting the idea of, I wonder who's lost the most money, like what collector or like what collection.
took the biggest hit via being canceled.
Like there are people that collect certain figures.
Like to me like, well, I was gonna,
never mind. I'm not even gonna go down that route.
Yeah, it's like even,
because I can tell you, I can tell you a few,
but I think, if we're just talking about it offline.
The thing where the person I thought of
is part of a sport that the general fan base
doesn't seem to care about that type of stuff.
So it's hard to even measure.
But yeah, I know who you're talking about.
Yeah, it was conflicting.
I have another question.
This one, more for everybody.
Music, one of the things I love about music,
is when you listen to it,
it kind of takes you to a place,
at least in my experience.
It's almost time machine-like
where there's certain memories you have
or feelings at a certain time
where you remember listening to the song.
I don't know if I'm alone in that feeling,
but I often be like,
ah, this song makes me think of this or like this period of my life.
I had an album I really liked,
and I played it a lot
when I was going through
like a sad period
and now I can't listen to that album
I've ruined it for myself
Is there any way to reclaim an album
Have any of you been able to do this?
I've been through this a lot
Yeah, you can do it
Sometimes you have to take a significant amount of time off
I've definitely lost a couple of albums
To like divorce
You know?
Sure
And or a couple of artists
Where you just like
You have so many memories tied up
that it just becomes like,
you know, an emotional landmine
listening to songs.
Yeah.
Not necessarily looking for that.
But I think time helps.
Yeah.
Time.
Just listening to a cover
ease you back in.
Oh,
what do you get the same vibe?
Interesting.
That's clever.
I never thought of that.
I don't know.
Because it would sound different, right?
Unless it's a cover where it just sounds the same.
I hate those covers.
We're going to cover something,
do something unique with the song.
What's the point?
I was listening to the Land of Confusion the other day.
I think maybe because Eric posted a picture of the music video.
It's like the nice time to listen to it.
And then I guess I was on some sort of playlist where it just shifted straight over to the disturbed version.
Oh, it's so bad.
Oh, listen.
The Land of Confusion is a good song with an ugly music video.
The disturbed version of Land of Confusion is so fucking bad.
and it, oh God, Gavin, oh my God.
I listened to it and I was like,
there's some interesting choices of this.
And now, I'll be honest with you,
in the last week, I've listened to that portion
more than the Genesis.
No.
You're a disturbed guy?
Oh, no, yeah.
Is that your favorite cover now?
Hell yeah, this is Gavin listening to it.
It's the disturbed music video.
It's so, oh, God.
Oh, is it animated?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sorry, you can squint.
and look at it, I guess.
Kevin's so edgy.
Which is the, uh, the uglier video, Eric?
This one.
Whoa, this one's, that's neck and neck, dude.
Here's the thing.
The, I can't look at, oh, God, when I just see the fucking Genesis, like that's so
dis, it's like vile.
That is absolutely vile.
Are those spinning image puppets?
Oh, that, yeah, that's what it is.
That's the music video for Land of Confusion is the spinning image puppets.
But man,
when the disturbed one is just like,
it sucks.
Jeff, it sucks in such a specific way.
There are going to be people who listen to this,
and I'm making fun of the disturbed music video,
and they're going to be so upset that I'm making fun of it,
but I have no choice.
Like, it's not your fault.
It's the band's fault.
It's like for people,
this music video looks like it's a cartoon for people
who liked Spawn,
but for all the wrong.
reasons. Like, it's fucking disgusting.
It's so, oh. Can we call this episode the one for people who like spawn, but for all the wrong
reason? Absolutely. Yep. I can't believe you're listening to the disturb one so much, Gavin. That's
crazy. Are there any other disturb songs in your rotation that you listen to or is it just this?
Yeah. Is it going to open you up? No, I don't even really come across that weird covers, like the sound
of silence and stuff. Oh, yeah. I don't know. I have heard that one. What's like a, what's the
the biggest disturbed normal song.
Down with the sickness.
That's their, that's their biggest hit.
Yeah.
Oh, that's them.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, the guy had, uh, the thing I always think about with the guy from disturbed is that
he had, he had the sole patch.
But then it's in like two like little snake bite things down the front.
He's afraid.
Whoa.
There was, he's in a computer as well.
Look at the background.
He's at a computer.
There was never a time when that was okay.
Oh, you'd be upset if everyone is walking around with snake facial hair?
If that's the future, I don't want anything to do with the future, yeah.
Oh, you're going back to the 70s now?
Send me back in time.
I'm with you.
Like that?
I don't give a fuck.
This is, it's just such a look where my uncle who's just a dirt bag sees it.
And he goes, hell yeah, that's it right there.
It's like, that's, dude, that sucks.
Shut up.
If you told me that it was a poster for characters in the Chronicles of Riddick, I wouldn't.
Oh, 100%.
I wouldn't.
Yeah.
This is, it's music for people who like the Chronicles of Riddick.
Oh, man, I like Riddick.
Yeah, but not like this.
Not like the way they like it.
You lie, everybody likes Chronicles of Riddick.
It's different.
They like it.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's different.
Death by T-cup.
And then he kills him.
A little cup in the jail cell.
I can't believe we're talking about Disturbed on this podcast.
This is.
from gardens in his disturbed era.
Oh, I've just got a bit, they do a bit before the chorus in Latin of a computer,
where he's just like, ah, ah, ah, ah.
Yeah.
Sound like Will Smith freestyling.
I love how much I don't hate it.
That's crazy.

How you feel about limp biscuits behind blue eyes?
What's that one?
You've never heard that one?
It's the Who, it's the behind blue eyes by the Who,
the covered by Limp Biscuit very seriously.
It's very funny.
I feel like the music video, he's inside of like a,
like a jail cell or something.
That makes sense.
He's like, or in like an insane asylum or something like that.
Like that's what I think of.
with it and it's like nobody knows what it's like nobody knows what it's like
he's like serious
bullfuss fucking suck he has an Elvis tattoo
what the fuck
is that a Kurt Cobain is that Kurt Cobain
on his chest next to Elvis it looks like
Kirk Cobain and Elvis that can't be real
they got along famously
Wow.
Such a
I was scrolling TikTok one time
and I got a random
like realtor trying to sell a house thing
for some reason and they use
limp biscuits behind blue eyes
as the backing music for their video
of the tour. I was like, what are you doing?
I would not buy a house from a person
that like it's fine
like what you like but just like tonally.
it's just so weird to just be like, this is this house.
Four bathrooms or whatever.
And it's just behind blue eyes.
Apparently in the last episode of this podcast,
Jeff was telling his story about the insurance fraud thing.
And mentioned like, oh, you know, it's for the cops.
It's just like, he said, she said.
And then I was talking about something I was like, yeah,
just one of those days.
And we were apparently just calling this freaking lip biscuit.
He did it all for the nooky.
I don't know what else to say.
You have any update on that Jeff that's like podcast?
No, no update.
I haven't heard anything from the insurance company
since I gave him my statement.
I don't know.
Wow, shocking.
Yeah, shocking, right?
I'm going to guess it disappeared.
But I logged into my last time I logged into the app
to look, it was like still, you know, under investigation.
Doesn't matter to me.
I'm back in Zen mode, so I don't.
You are back in Zen.
Oh, congratulations.
Good.
Which question?
I have a friend.
that has been re-listening to the show.
Is this you?
Is your friend you?
Yeah, it's me.
I'm re-listening to it.
How dare you call me?
And he's got a lot of questions.
He's got a lot of questions.
Um,
I guess in an episode, Gavin,
very early on.
Like, when the first 10 of,
yeah.
You said that, uh,
there was a friendship that ended
over something incredibly small.
I think the prompt was what,
like,
the smallest thing.
that ended a friendship.
Is that related to
a game raging moment?
We talk about that later,
or is there a different thing?
You said you would talk about it
on an upcoming episode
and then it never came back around.
This could be two things,
because I watched a friendship end
between two other people,
and I think I had a friendship end
when I'm not sure which one
I was going to talk about.
Oh, I guess you could pick one.
Please don't be just.
Please don't be Jeff.
The one I watched to end was one of my friends was peeing.
And then his friend...
Was he in a horse?
No.
Just on the side of a hairdresser.
The building, not the person.
He's pissing on the building.
And then his friend came up and pissed as well.
And then he just sort of swayed his stream of piss a little bit towards his friend.
And they went on his shoe.
And they never spoke to each other again.
Whoa.
Wow.
Wow.
Got peed on.
was livid and yelled,
you're dead to me,
and then gobbed,
and then, like, gobbed in his direction,
and then they were never friends anymore.
Oh, my God.
Well, how old was this?
Ooh, probably 18.
Okay.
Okay.
Old enough.
He got pissed, pissed.
Yeah.
He got pissed.
You got exhalated pissed.
Damn.
The friendship I ended was that my friend
were playing football outside,
uh,
just outside of our house.
as my neighbor.
And my friend bought, he bought a set of cards, like a yellow card and a red card.
And I was really excited to get a red card.
So I just kept like trying to do fouls.
And I just booted the ball at him because he was being the ref.
And it hit right in the face.
And I felt bad.
I was trying to get a red card, but I just smashed him in the face of the football.
We tried to continue our friendship.
Like we did, we were, we still hung out.
But it was like, it definitely dented the friendship a little bit.
Things were different after that day.
Dipped his face.
Yeah.
I still feel bad about that.
He chose to be the ref?
Yeah.
Yeah.
How many people were in this game?
Uh, probably few.
It was, I think it was 2B2 and he was the ref.
It was 2V2, and he chose, he like bought the red and yellow card.
He was really into the idea of being the ref?
Yeah, he had a shirt as well, he had the black-and-white shirt.
I think it was just because...
That's so funny.
Well, I mean, people do, because...
come refs. I think it's natural that a kid would want to be a ref. I just have never thought of like,
how old were you? Oh, seven maybe? Yeah, like being seven and being like, I'm gonna,
I'm gonna grow up to be a ref one day. I think it's hilarious. It's reading the rules and the
CBA for the thing. He's like eight. Well, I think when you've got so few people, like three v two,
it's just like it's not a not a workable game. If you're the ref, you can still hang out with us.
I will say, I remember when I was in high school, my friend and I,
I would ref like church games on Sundays.
And it was a lot of fun.
I remember looking forward to it.
Yeah.
I think we would all take it in turns to be ref,
but he was the only one with the gear.
Do you think this has impacted
how you view refs as an adult watching sports, Jeff?
Me?
More sympathy?
Yeah.
Do I think I have more sympathy?
Because Gavin lost a friendship?
I was the first I'd heard of it.
No, you're talking about being a ref in the church thing.
I never really thought about it until this moment.
It impacted me in so little.
it's a memory that I hadn't had in
probably 30 years until it was just
jogged by Gavin mentioned in this.
I feel like you'd be a menace of a ref
respectfully, Jeff. Thank you. I think you'd be
just throwing calls out there just
to mess with people. I also have no
sympathy towards any form of authority.
Yeah,
self-hating ref. Pretty much
across the board, any authority
figure, once the word authority
is involved, I lose sympathy.
It just is what it is.
But you've been an authority.
Yeah, I fucking hate it.
Were there any challenge flags?
I guess that's like a football thing, American.
There's no challenges in like European football, right?
Coaches can't throw a red flag demand that the ref double check his work.
No, I mean, there's like VAR, right?
Yeah, you can like, did you have VAR, Gav when you guys before?
No, you have VAR?
Yeah, you have VAR?
That's what I should have done.
I should just sat there with a camcorder.
Oh!
I missed an opportunity.
I didn't really...
It wasn't any good at football.
You might have saved a few friendships.
The concept that instead of one of you would just rotate out when playing,
but instead I was like, no, I'll be the ref.
I got this ref thing down.
I wonder if they grew up to be a ref.
Uh...
Oh, shit.
Try and find out.
I wonder how far they're reffing went.
Did it never go past that line?
or do you think they refed like college games?
Well, maybe...
What if me chipping the ball into him
was what got him out of the game?
You ruined his dream of being around.
You realized this was a dangerous career.
Oh, shit.
Do you think you've genuinely ruined anybody's dreams
at some point in your life on accident?
We, everybody probably has at some point.
I don't think so.
You definitely have.
I'm trying to think of a context.
text in which I could have even accomplished that.
I don't think I've ever been in a scenario in which...
You don't think you ruined Jake's dreams of being on SNL?
Yeah.
Okay.
Judge Judy.
Done and done.
Done and done.
Hey, you got me.
I had someone ruined my dream, but I think it just spurred me on a little bit more.
I was talking to a...
I was filming something.
I was working on some advert on a golf course,
and the director of photography
was telling me that he works mainly in America
and I was like, oh yeah, do you have like
a 01 visa for that?
And he was like, yeah, yeah, I'm trying to get one of them.
And he was just like, oh, no, no, no, that's, they're very difficult to get.
I don't think you'll, I don't think you can, you're quite young
and I don't think you'll get one of those.
That's just like, oh.
Jesus.
What the fuck?
And I was, I was bummed about that for probably two months.
Jesus Christ.
But it spurred me on to try and get one harder, I think.
Yeah?
Take that Gary.
Oh, shit.
Name it his ass.
Hell yeah, dude.
That's what I'm talking about.
Use your platform, buddy.
You think Gary's been listening to 200 episodes being like,
oh, I hope I don't get called out.
He's nervous.
He listens every week and he's scared.
The other thing that came up in the podcast, I guess, was,
Jeff, you lost your pinky toenail and you were scared to see if.
it even existing? Have you ever confirmed
that you have a new pinky toe?
That gets, that gets resolved
in episode at some point.
Okay. If your friend continues to listen,
but yes, I don't know, like
four or five months later, I looked at my foot and it was back
and fine. Yeah. Good. And it's
been back ever since. Never, no more issues.
Congratulations. Didn't really, I like these loose ends.
We got to, you type the loose ends.
Got to tie up the loose ends. Yeah.
Well, you don't love loose ends. You love the tying of the,
you don't. Yeah. Just to be clear.
Yeah, I don't like leave them.
But you can't tie an end if it's not loose, though, you know?
That is true.
You need it loose to be tied.
Chicken and egg situation.
Yeah, it's tough.
If there are any loose ends, I guess let us know in the comments.
It is fun.
Oh, that's...
Oh, boy, these comments are going to be nuts.
We're nothing but loose ends, dude.
This is the loose ends podcast.
We tied a lot of stuff.
We don't tie up...
Dude.
I have loose ends notes in my notes for this episode right now.
Really?
Can we tie up?
Yeah.
Things I want to...
These are just...
I have a section
called hanging chads.
These are things I want us
to not forget about.
Okay.
Regulation wrestling, I thought
was awesome and I want us
to stay on top of that.
Wow, really?
Okay, thank you.
Audience loved it.
Comments were fantastic
and I...
It's one of those things
where it's like, we put the episode out
and then it's like,
oh, fuck, if we don't record one now,
it could be three months
before the next one comes out.
And so I want to stay on top of that.
I wrote Bit Barrel,
but it actually auto-corrected
to butt barrel,
and now I want one barrel
to be a different thing that we can figure out.
I want to continue the NBA series at least one more
episode so we can play with Boguljub.
Oh, Booghub, yeah.
I want to make sure we don't miss out on that.
The pinball machine is fixed, so I want to do a pinball tournament now.
Okay.
And we want Gavin to eat butter.
These are just bits that have been...
Why does Gavin eat to eat butter?
See if I can tell...
Yeah, see if he can determine if it's butter or margarine.
Oh, I see. Yes.
I remember that now.
Oh, that's right.
These are good loose ends.
These are good loose ends.
These are just the little things in the periphery
that I just don't want us to lose steam on, you know?
You know our constant tracking
where now we're going to move on to pizza
and now we're not so fuss about what the
average is across the nation,
but we will set the average.
Yeah, we're creating the average.
Do you think we should call it extra median?
I like extra median.
You know what's interesting about the pizza thing is I feel like more than burgers, there's such a variation of what can be on it.
Oh my God.
The concept of how much, like, how much food a certain person could eat in the same measurement is fascinating to me.
There can be somebody who exclusively eats cheese pizza, and then there are people that may exclusively eat deluxe pizza, which is like every topping.
the amount of volume
the food volume is
there's such a variation
there's such a large range
there is I mean there are versions of that
with hamburgers right like there are people
that eat vegetables and then there are
people like Jack that exist that eat
two pieces of bread one slice of cheese
and a burger no ketchup
no mustard no green no red
nothing but those four items
or three items sure yeah
that's the equivalent of a
that's the equivalent of a no cheese pizza to me
but yeah no see I think
like the difference between how much of meat you can have on a pizza as opposed to a cheat,
like the bait, a plain, to me a plain burger to a burger with like lettuce, tomato, and onion
on it are completely different in terms of scale.
You can get bacon and shit on it.
That's true.
But yeah.
Onions.
Crispy onions.
Grilled onions.
Fresh onions.
Fresh jalapenos.
Grilled jalapeno.
Yeah, we just did an episode for 100% eat where we eat like, it's like a pretzel
bun with beer cheese.
and two different kinds of mustard.
Like, you can really vary a burger.
What is beer cheese?
I think it's like a cheese rue-type dip spread,
but it's made with, it's like,
logger-style beer that they used to thin it.
It might have pimento in it a little bit, too, maybe.
It can, I think.
Yeah.
Not this one.
Not this one.
This one was weird.
We went to Hop-Dottie,
and it was straight.
It was the greasiest burger I've ever eaten in my entire life by a mile.
It was crazy.
Let me ask you guys a question.
Not to get into the 100% eat territory, but what?
Do you guys like HopDottie?
How do you feel about HopDott?
This is the first time we've ever gone.
The episode's out by the time this is out, so it's fine.
It was so disappointing.
I think I said while we were eating it,
I like the flavor of this burger.
I hate eating this burger.
It was the greasiest, sloppiest thing that was so weird.
and it's just like
the ambiance for that place is really strange.
I don't really, it's like trying to be a yardhouse,
but it's not yardhouse.
I don't really care for Hopdottie very much.
Is that still a line?
No, because I think they have so many locations.
I'm sure that it, I'm sure it'll fill up.
They just opened one in Mueller.
Yeah, there's one on Anderson,
there's the one on Congress.
There's one in L.A., too.
I thought it was fine.
I think, yeah, the mystique is worn off on it, I think, for sure.
Definitely.
I think the ordering system is annoying.
Yeah.
It's just sort of like, you know, that's fine.
We did it because it was the pretzel pub burger,
which is very like lauded and 100% eat, like, lore, the pretzel pub.
I asked just because I feel like that was like the most hyped burger in Austin for like four years.
And I was like, there was one called the Diablo, though I think it's pretty good,
but it's not like, I just never understood, I never understood the links people would go through to get that burger.
It wasn't worth the line.
It's funny that you say four years.
It started in 2010 and then was sold to private equity in 2014.
Huh?
Who could have seen that?
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
So you were on the money for four years.
It's absolutely what it was.
Some fucking, that's, and the Jeff.
You know, there you go.
Way to go, man.
Good work.
Thank you.
Yeah, I've never been able to separate the weight time that I've had eaten there
from the food experience.
So I've actually have no idea if I like the food.
I just get annoyed by the weight.
Well, you got an order and then show up 45 minutes.
for it is the...
Hell yeah, you get them.
I once had...
I think I had a meeting with Bernie and someone else,
maybe like someone to do with my immigration stuff.
And we met them there.
And they had to leave to go back to the office
before we sat down.
Well, you had your meeting standing in a burger line?
Well, the idea was to sit down,
but I don't think we even really had the meeting.
We just kind of loosely chatted about it,
and then they had to go.
Huh.
I, having meetings in line, I kind of like the idea of.
You do?
Yeah, because being in line suck, and it gives you an activity to do in the line.
Oh, and it's annoying for the, it's surely annoying for the other people in the line, though, if they're having a meeting.
Yeah, but who can't, like, the, the line is bad.
The line is bad for everybody.
Yeah.
Huh.
There's no difference than talking in the line, the three of you, just talking about whatever, than having the meeting in the line.
True.
They're all meetings.
Yeah.
They're all meetings.
What were you to say, Jeff?
I was just going to ask if you guys,
what do you think the new
HopDotty in Austin is right now
with insufferable lines?
Because I have an opinion.
All day pizza?
All day pizza does have some lines.
La La Land.
That's a place I'll fucking never go to, probably.
No, it's like a macha store that opened up
and there's like city of Congress.
Two hour lines for fucking...
Macha.
Shug's bagels for a minute.
I think it probably mellowed out a little bit,
but Shugs bagels had with Austin,
Texas loves the line because nobody's like,
no one's from here.
And so it's,
I also,
I thought about this.
I think I drafted a tweet and I just have it hanging on that I,
I've never seen more influencers with less influence than I have right now.
It is stunning.
They are eating each other alive in Austin right now.
It's wild.
Have you seen that influencer apartment complex on Rainey Street and all the drama and controversy surrounding that place?
Pretty cool.
What?
There's drama around an influencer apartment building?
Something about like people getting like cheap rent but not being able to deliver on views and clicks and then it like being like being like I don't know.
Overpack full of people.
There's all these videos of them on the weekends and the pool looks like it's the fucking like the hard rock pool in Vegas and I don't know.
Every time I see a TikTok about it,
it's something negative about that place.
So these are like kind of established people.
These aren't people trying to become creators.
I think it's probably both.
Yeah, both.
Yeah.
Man, it sucks.
I hate a line.
I hate a line for food.
Makes me crazy.
I just can't.
It's not for me.
There's no.
And listen,
I understand there's Franklin barbecue and Lobb barbecue.
And there's a lot of really wonderful places to eat
in Austin.
There's no food on earth
that's worth waiting more than 15 minutes for, to me.
I'm with you.
Oh, it's the longest you'd wait, Gavin, for food.
45 minutes.
Really?
So much longer than what Jeff said.
I mean, if it's like we've had this reservation
for a long time or something.
Well, why would it be waiting in the line
if there's a reservation?
No, you're right.
I can't really see a scenario where...
Like if I walk up to a restaurant and there's more than a 15 minute wait, I go, thank you.
And I just walk next door or and then next door and then next, do you just go down the line?
Do you find the place that nobody likes that seats you immediately?
Yeah.
Yeah, I guess it was just the only place.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm, uh, 15 minutes is a while.
I guess it depends.
It depends on the food.
They're context in which I'd go about 15 minutes, but it's very rare.
I'll wait half an hour for dinner.
I won't wait for breakfast.
I agree with that.
The context is if you're with other people and it's their thing and you're just along for the ride.
I'll wait for an hour and a half with my in-laws if that's the, you know, that's what's happening.
But if I'm in charge, if it's my deal, if I'm Jeff by myself, yeah, or I'm Jeff with one other person, yeah, I will put my foot down.
Yeah, I'll be a big baby about it.
See, the scale completely flips for me if I'm the other person.
If I'm the person, if everyone's going to my thing and there is a five-minute wait, I'm pulling the shoe.
I am
I would have such anxiety
about making other people
wait for my thing
Oh five minutes
alright
I think most people have no problem waiting
My wife will happily wait an hour
At a restaurant
If that's like that
Wow
I just am not that
I just I don't have that kind of patience
In anything
Yeah
Andrew used to
Used to wait by the bagel shop
Didn't you
Back in the day
I did but I never needed to
Oh
Wait what will you do it
Wait what?
I was more prepared
than I needed to be
For sure
Like it wasn't open?
Yeah, like I would show up like maybe 30, 40 minutes early and the next person that would show up would be maybe like 10 minutes early at most.
What?
Five minutes early.
So something I did a lot.
I realized the, I did the calculations and adjusted in the future.
But yeah, there are definite times where I had to get here early because things sell out quick.
And I was way too early.
A kid's been standing outside for an hour again.
Can we just let him sit inside and wait?
What would you do?
Just stand there?
And I would just sit.
I just,
there is kind of like an area in the front
because it was gated.
It was like a lot gate you had to get through.
It wasn't open yet.
So I just sat sort of a public on some,
on some like brick.
Sitting on the brick.
What's your current bagel situation like?
That was such a big part of your life.
And then it was a part of regulation for a f*** face,
at least for a little bit.
Absolutely.
I don't have any idea what your bagel, your day-to-day bagel.
I'm not really bagel in anymore.
I'm not bagel in. I've been kind of lost.
Is it just there's no, there's no spot?
There's no good spot anymore?
Um.
Well, there's a good spot, but there's no brick nearby.
I guess I wasn't that much of a bagel guy before that.
I didn't dislike them.
I just, they weren't really in my rotation.
And then I got super into bagels and the bagels went away.
And so like, I just never, I don't know.
I guess I'm still grieving in some ways, the loss of the bagel.
In my head, I feel like you could, you should just be able to walk around and find your next bagel spot, but I have no idea how your island works.
Like I like finding out that there were no escalators blew my mind.
There's so many, all the bagel spots in one line. It's just like the malls
Molls.
Bagel Row.
Bagel Row.
Yeah, there are plenty of great local bakeries that that do bagels, but it's just not, I haven't really pursued it.
I feel like it's so much more lame too, knowing that I was 45 minutes early for a
place that had the
regulation bagel, like our bagel.
I feel like that makes it worse.
I feel like that makes it more embarrassing.
I'm like over eagle.
Eager.
Over eagle.
I'm not over eagle.
Over eagle.
So you do really well in golf.
Yeah.
New birdie.
Over eagle.
Yeah.
And I've been kind of bagel list and also cream cheeseless.
I was not a cream cheese guy.
They made great cream cheese.
Never had cream cheese since exiting.
That place or that place closing.
I can support you not eating cream cheese.
Did they move on to open, like, separate spots, or is it just...
No.
Neither of them went on.
It's just dead.
It's just dead.
Long gone.
There's no, like, bagel DNA in another bagel spot around town.
There is a bakery in the same spot, and I believe they make bagels.
Oh.
Wait.
Oh.
Wait, the place where you used to get that early,
sit on your bricks.
You can still get bagels there?
Probably.
Oh, you got to get down there, Andrew.
I've been there.
See if they'll make a, see if they'll make the bagel.
I've tried some of their stuff and I enjoy it, but, um,
but not their bagel?
No.
That was the place that my mom can't go into now because there is a donut place,
uh, downtown that, uh, what's it called?
milk jam, I think.
And they make really good donuts. They do like
the cronet type thing
as well. It's like it's high-end
like bakery type place.
And they make great donuts. And then
this place is called Misty Pines
that moved into the old
my hubby's bagel location
started selling donuts.
And they offered my mom a donut.
And she's like, you know who has really good donuts?
This place. She just said a
different place to them. And was so
embarrassed. And now
I don't know if she's ever gone back there
They're like you want a donut
You want to try one of our donuts
And she's like no I don't I don't want to
But you know who does have good days
Brutal
I forgot about that
Did it just slip out and now she was like
She's like mortified by it?
Yeah absolutely yeah
It just slipped out and it is the thing she's mortified by
Oh I think she can go back
No I just looked up
I just looked at Misty Pines
And I'm seeing people say
Guess who has the best bagel
in all of Vancouver Island.
Whoa.
So something to think about.
Wait, the whole island?
That's what says.
That's what this influencer says.
I'm influenced.
Oh, you're influenced by the influencer.
It worked.
Lower their rent.
Yeah, get them a discount.
Look, I'm looking, I'm seeing right now with that.
I'm not seeing any bagels on there.
Oh, that's a good looking bagel.
Except for all the white shit.
What do you mean?
The white shit is the bad part, but the rest of the rest of the,
You don't like cream cheese?
Oh, do, don't I?
Oh, I guess you can only get the bagels as a sandwich.
Are you surprised Nick?
I mean, yeah, a little.
I know you don't like white shit, but.
What's wider than cream cheese?
What's the rest of your thought, Nick?
It's good?
No.
Unfortunately.
It was good.
I eat it, believe it.
Talk to Nick about food.
He'll tell you that all food can be good.
It can be good.
You're just picky.
All food can be good.
Unfortunately, I'm not picking cream cheese.
I don't think that's controversial.
I have to hear about this from Nick all the time
about how all food can be good.
It's good.
I want to see now,
Nick presents Jeff's white gauntlet.
Uh-uh.
Uh-uh.
Uh-uh.
Uh-uh.
He has to turn Jeff on white food.
Listen,
I'm going to tell you something right now,
you motherfucker.
Yeah.
This is like,
you know how like we don't joke about Eric
putting his arm in the thing
that constricts it
because it freaks them out anymore?
If you want me,
if you want me,
on me to eat white shit, it's
going to have to be some sort of a
stretch goal.
The audience buys us a private
jet or, like, there's no fucking
way I'm putting a variety of
white things in my mouth unless
it's for significant
something. Because that is
like, that's like, that's like
fucking Luke Skywalker
going to the Dagabas system
and having to confront Darth Vader
in the fucking, in the
jungle, in the swamps.
and finding out it's himself,
I'm not gonna look into a fucking vat of cream cheese
and see myself looking back at me.
I'm not doing that unless it's something,
unless it's life-changing money.
Well, it's not reflective.
What if it was the whitest room?
You go, like, it's just the whitest things all in one.
It's the white room.
It's limp biscuit playing behind blue eyes.
Yeah, if I don't have to lick anything in that room, I'm fine.
All the walls are white.
What if you're blindfolded
and you have to determine, is it white?
Ooh, and what if it's a punishment?
I think declaring...
Yeah, what if it's a punishment, Jeff, then what?
You, motherfucker.
What? I'm just thinking out loud.
What if it's white doesn't have to be a punishment and is...
If it's a punishment, then I have no choice but to adhere to the rules of face off.
Just thinking, just thinking.
I won't fight that because I am required to fulfill the punishment.
and no matter what it is.
There's nothing about is it white that says you have to taste it either.
You can sniff.
Nick is my fucking foil in all things.
Imagine having two companies with a fucking Mario Party.
This shit.
Every time you turn around.
I didn't say anything about making you do it.
I was just a for instance.
A for instance.
Well, for instance, for instance, I'll do whatever the punishment is.
is. Outside of that punishment, though, I'm like
Isaiah Thomas when he got traded from the Celtics for saying it, but a back up the
Brinks truck. Oh, like that.
Yeah, it probably would be. Is there a company that rents out Brinks
trucks? Brinks.
Hey, that was a pointless question.
Hey, congratulations.
And what a way to cap it.
Wow.
The pointless question from the episode.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
I enjoyed this episode.
I did too.
Hey, before we leave, can I tell you guys something?
Yeah.
Yes.
I think I found my next thing.
Oh.
I think I found something that I'm into.
And I think it might be cool.
You guys maybe think it's funny and embarrassing.
I don't know.
I think this is definitely because of the new house.
But I've noticed myself being really...
All right.
I think I found it.
my tiny town.
I think I might start building in my yard
fairy gardens.
Isn't that adorable?
I love those! Isn't that so cute?
That people that lived in the house before me
had little girls and so there's a couple
of trees that have like little fairy huts
and they're so cute. I want to make little fairy worlds.
Isn't that adorable? It is adorable. I love that for you, Jeff.
I want to do that. I want to build that.
If I saw that posted
and the question was,
guess what the person who made this looks like?
I don't think anyone would come up with your appearance.
That's amazing.
Wow.
I think it looks so cute and charming.
I would have built little fairy settlements around my yard.
We'll start making tiny goof town.
And then, yeah, kind of,
and then Albert will come through and just fucking destroy it all.
Yeah, Godzilla, like Albert.
Oh, we should film a, we should film a little Godzilla short with Albert.
Like, film it.
Oh, that'd be great.
like over crank the camera so he looks massive and stuff.
Let's do it.
All right.
Let's put that on the list.
We'll add that.
I'll build my fairy village.
And then Albert can fucking wreck shop and we can film it.
I love it.
All right.
That sounds good.
Should we end this episode?
Yeah.
Let's end it.
All right.
This is the end of episode 124 of the Regulation Podcast.
Congratulations.
You made it all the way from the start to the finish.
It was a marathon.
And you just won it because you.
you laughed for the last hour and
15-ish minutes straight.
Congratulations to you. You're working on your
stomach muscles. You're working on you. You're
having a good day. And you're going to carry that in
to the rest of your week. We'll see you here next
time for 125. Love you.
Bye-bye. Bye.
Do you shoot yourself there?
Bye.
Calculating route to avoid
seeing poverty. Turn left
to bypass the unhoused youth
sleeping on the street. Then keep right
to skip by the lines of people waiting for
food. Steer clear of the crowded shelter turning people away, then take the next exit.
