Forward Play, I'm at Barstool Sports.
We are live from all over the country once again.
I am at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona.
You find folks are in South Carolina at the PGA Championship.
It's been a hell of a ride.
Speaking of PGA Championship, Owens Mixers I saw, is that the official transfusion of the PGA Championship?
Is that what's happening right now, fellas?
Correct. That's correct.
Yeah.
So people have been drinking their transfusions here on Kiowa Island so much so that they actually sold out the first day at the practice round.
So that was something.
And they've just been all over the place.
People are cheeringing transfusions, Owens Mixer's Mixers transfusions to us while we're inside the ropes.
They're out there at the bars and stuff.
And we also have a meet and greet and what we're calling at a watch party, right?
So they sent us, you guys have a meet and greet, and I've been using that term.
And every time I say it to someone, it makes me want to jump off of a roof because it's just like,
that's the most douchebaggery thing of all time to say we have a meet and greet, Frankie, fucking Barrelli,
just stick to fucking filming pizzas.
But we do have a watch party.
We have a watch party tonight when this podcast comes out in Charleston.
We're going to be at Uptown social.
So that's going to be sponsored by Owens Mixers.
I can't tell you how many Owens Mixers are going to be flown at that place.
Like, are they prepared for that?
When I tell you, every single person at this golf course is coming to that place tomorrow,
we must have met a thousand people saying that they're coming tomorrow.
Dude, legit.
Like, we're not even, like, saying that to pump up the event or whatever.
We obviously want people to show up.
But the amount of people who we have run into who have been like, oh, we love the podcast,
we love bars to all that, immediately after saying that they're like,
and we'll see you tomorrow at Uptown social.
We're like, yep, we'll see you there.
There are going to be thousands upon thousands of Owen's transfusions drank.
tonight when you listen to this podcast at Uptown Social in Charleston.
Woo!
Good.
Good.
I'm glad.
I hope, you know, you guys, he's going to be properly dressed for that.
Trent's walking around to remember with no hat.
His face is going to be just red, burnt.
Frankie's walking around all over the place with a hoodie on.
What's, you know, once you guys approach, you're going to be, you're figuring it out.
You're starting to home in here on the proper attire?
A lot of people, they do want to come and, you know, watch some golf with us.
We're going to watch the Islander game.
So I'm actually bringing an outfit change, all right?
So I've got me, I'm going to go something casual, maybe just a transfusion line quarter zip from Peter Millar.
I'll probably wear that in jeans and a hat.
And then I'm going to put on my Islander's crew neck sweater for the game come 745.
So once the golf is over, the quarter zip comes off, the Islander sweater comes on, and we're going to be ready to rock.
I mean, tomorrow's going to be quite an event for people around me.
The fact that I'm watching a playoff game at the Coliseum from Charleston, South Carolina, inside a bar as we drink transfusions,
is something that's going to be new to me, and I will lash out.
I will probably hurt people's feelings, but I want everyone to know right now like that.
Don't take that personally.
This is something that I've been waiting for my whole life.
Riggs, we were trying to figure out a place to go to dinner last night where he could watch
the game and where he could get something to eat.
And after, you know, debating where to go for, I'd say a solid two hours,
we, and by we, I mean me, decided to be better if we just stayed in the house where we're staying.
So Frankie didn't lash out irrationally when, you know, potentially when they're,
the Islanders give up two early goals in the game and then he's just angry the whole time.
So tomorrow's going to be very interesting because we're going to this watch party and Frankie's
going to be in public while watching the Islanders. I don't know what's going to happen. I really
don't know. I'm excited. Yeah, you got to confine him to a certain space typically for these moments
because you obviously don't act with any type of rational thought behind it. But yeah, you're kind of
forced into one tomorrow and I imagine the footage will be good. I, you know, look, I don't think anyone's
safe really now that I think about it because if you
if they're playing well you're
going to be like fist pumping and like hitting people
playing terribly you might be
throwing like beer bottles and transfusion
I don't know what to. I made such
a mistake. I was going to say I made
a mistake early on in yesterday's
game we were talking about Brock
Nelson he was out there
playing and I said oh is he the captain
of the team and
apparently their captain
is out for the season and I was like
I'm dead the rest of the game
I'm just not going to ask any more questions.
To bring up Anders Lee, like, as the puck is being dropped,
and, like, that's, like, our biggest adversity of the year that we have to play in a
playoff run that we think we're going to go really far, and without our captain and our main first line.
You know, that, to me, that is, that that was gutless, as some people say, and I won't
forget that ever again tomorrow.
It was not on purpose.
And I really, after that, I felt like the guy at the Super Bowl party that says, how much are touchdowns worth?
Like I really felt like such an asshole that I tread I treaded carefully the rest of the way.
And you know, I usually am able to hone it in a little bit in public.
Like I feel like at some point I'm able to like become a normal person.
With the Islanders, that's kind of an exception.
Like I don't, I haven't been able to wrangle it in.
And I do know there will be some drunk guys that are going to try and get under my skin.
You know, if God forbid the Islanders like are losing that game and it's like, I'm going to get frustrated, man.
Like guys make the Islanders fucking suck, dude.
I'm going to be like, well, I'm going to fucking murder you now with like the end of this fucking beer bottle.
So like I'll end up in jail tonight.
What is what it is.
Uptown social tonight, 4 p.m. Charleston, South Carolina, baby.
Come out and see us.
Oh, it's mixers.
You pour the mixer in with liquor.
It's really good.
And that's lovely.
So boys, last, you know, last show we sort of, we led really not with the major championship.
We read, led with the Let Them Play Classic, which we will obviously get into and things are turning very real.
but you boys have had an incredible ride thus far at Kiwa Island.
You've been there for two days,
and you've really run into everybody under the sun.
You've had some incredibly funny moments.
You've had some very insightful stuff.
The tailor-made truck was off the charts.
I think everybody here is even going up being like,
do you see that video of the Delamate truck?
Like, what's going on with that stuff?
So give me a little bit as a guy who's been out of the loop,
as basically I'm basically a listener at this point.
has been watching via the internet what's going on with you fellas you know tell me a little bit
about keats tell me about this fucking major championship is happening right now man it's uh i'll say a couple
things about keowa first the golf course um it is a fucking bitch i mean it is the greens are
probably the most like undulated turtleback greens i've ever seen in my life i mean they put
donald ross pine hair number two to shame it's just pretty ridiculous what's going on at these
greens here at keowa um some of these slopes that these guys have to chip up onto
it's like hitting on top of a mountain on these little mini chips.
It's crazy.
The wind is a problem.
I mean,
the way that they have the range, it's into the wind.
And they have the top tracer thing on the scoreboard at the driving range.
And I mean, guys like Brooks Kepka are flying like 245-yard drives.
It's actually like preposterous.
Like the wind is just an absolute problem.
The 17th hole, it's playing like 240 into the wind with water all in front.
People are ripping three wood.
Like they're trying to cut three woods into there and they're just coming up
20, 30 yards short.
Everyone's hitting into the water.
So there will be carnage on 17.
There will be carnage on the back nine.
Every single person that's walked off the back nine here at Kiowa, whether you're a fan
or a player, just has this look like, whoa.
The fact that these guys have to go down that stretch and potentially, I mean, someone
will be playing for a PGA championship, down that stretch, like 17, having to hit a shot
onto that green and not make a massive score.
going to be really, really interesting.
This course has a lot of carnage.
I don't know that there's going to be a winner that is double digits under par.
I just don't even know if that's possible.
I was going to say, I don't know how someone can go under par generally.
Now, I could just be talking out of my ass and everyone's going to be fucking 20, 15 under,
but I just can't physically see how that's possible.
I don't know how you can, we walked with kids for a little bit and he's just like, man, like, it's, it's, it's.
I think someone ahead of us was like, kids, you like the course here?
He goes, it's all right.
And just shrugged his shoulders because he had just hit one in like the marshy area and had to like drop.
And then a second shot like I caught up in the wind and it went into like the little river.
And he's just like, yeah, this place is all right.
I just, I just don't know how it's a fun golf course to play, but beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful.
So.
But yeah, it's been a fun week, right, Trent?
I mean, it's a lot has happened in the last 48 hours, which we were pretty nervous about to be honest.
Well, I mean, if you listen to the last podcast, you and I basically, we set the bar so low.
because we were so nervous about going to this.
Just you and I like,
it was strategic.
People might not think we're strategy guys,
but it was strategic because we honestly did not know
what we were going to get.
We had these credentials.
Shout out to the PGA of America.
And we were just headed to the golf course
hoping to get stuff.
And then when you get there
and we put ourselves on the driving range
and there's like a bridge that goes
from the driving range to the putting green
and guys keep going back and forth.
And so if guys wanted to go to the driving
range or if they wanted to go to the putting green they had to run into us and you know we ended up
seeing a lot of familiar faces we saw joel damon who is just the best goddamn guy in the world we had
uh max homa asking me about breaking 100 which by the way and i don't want to jinx anything but i'm
going to make myself nervous about how many people are asking me about breaking 100 every single
person we run into including pj tour players are like how is the road to breaking 100 going and it's
just putting a lot of pressure on me i have to be honest yeah we we we we
He really were anticipating, like, just coming out here and big old bar still is at Kiowa and PD
Championship, and we're going to go to the range, and everyone's going to be like, all right,
like, who the hell are these guys and what the hell are they doing here?
But it couldn't have been more opposite.
I mean, the hoodie was a good choice.
I know I got roasted.
Mattie Fitz was walking by saying it's a bit hot out here, ain't it?
Like, whatever, his fucking accent.
And, but you know what?
We had this logo just on TV and behind all the coverage.
And it was just, it was a billboard.
It was a walking billboard.
So I think we scored some points with the hoodie.
But aside from that, man, like, we got a bunch of videos out here.
And it's just the little interactions that maybe we don't even catch on camera, right?
Like Brooks kept sitting there drinking a water just looking at me,
being like, you guys are fucking going down against Dave.
And like, like, like, saying like, oh, like Brooks was looking at me.
Like, oh, are you, like, taking any lessons out here with the caddies?
And Jordan Speath being like, oh, heard you guys played against Greller and golf the other day out in Arizona.
Like, just everyone, like, everyone that walked by,
just really is starting to get into the brand it felt like.
Like they really just know, they just knew the brand of Barstall and Barstall Golf.
Like we were really just represented here on the driving range on the golf course.
And it's just really cool to see.
And we, yeah, I mean, the guys have just been amazing.
Harry Higgs, Justin Thomas, like, just took so much time to just stop there and really
ask about like the LTP and like how everything's going.
We talked a little bit of hockey.
So it's been a really, really, really fun 24 hours or 48 hours.
And obviously kids, every time we see kids,
we literally hug kids, like he's our, like,
best friend, it's the funniest thing.
I hug, I hugged John Tilleri for maybe 45 seconds.
Like when that crew rolls up,
now that I'm taking swing lessons with John Tilleri,
obviously we're really close with kids,
obviously really close with Dewey.
So when that crew rolls up,
it's like seeing family.
It's really, really something at these tournaments now.
And there's a couple things I want to say about that.
Number one, there's three things, really.
The third one, which I'm going to get to last,
I really want to hear about your embrace and what it's like when you see your spring coach now,
because that was very heartwarming.
The second one is Kiz, which I'll get to second.
The first one I want to address is it is like an anxious, like nervousness going into these things for us.
And I know you guys feel it of like, okay, we have this access, which is amazing.
We're going to this course that is public.
Everybody knows we're going.
And there's a nervousness that you're not going to get it.
anything. You're just going to put out a goose egg.
No one's going to talk to you or you're not going to be funny or nothing's going to happen.
That's interesting.
And instead, you guys were just cranking out video after video.
It felt like it felt like that bridge was like a waterfall that was just pouring PGA
Tor Bros into your guys little pool of water.
And you guys, like you were just there with a net catching fish jumping off.
And it was one by one.
It was joy.
And they had like a very funny.
It was almost like they were doing WWE entrances.
Like they had like a little bit of a walkway from the bottom of the staircase.
to you guys where they would see you
and then like they would choose to do something
it was it was very funny
to watch over and over again it was like a repeatable
like formula Harry Higgs was
I mean Joel Damon's obviously the best he started doing
like hat tips but Harry Higgs you can
hear him under his breaches go these
motherfuckers like as he's
like maybe 25 35
feet away from us just he had to
come by us and you have to do content
we were we were a force out there man
and and the range and where
we were standing is so close at one point
was just a stockpile of the best golfers in the world.
It was like DJ was going through his bag right in front of us and then Rory just walked by him.
And then Brooks Kepka just got to the range and Justin Thomas is talking to us and everyone's just like in the mix.
And Trent and I are looking at each other like this is why we come to these fucking things.
Because if we were just sitting at home fucking watching the golf now coverage, the fucking from the on golf channel, like none of this like nothing would matter.
Like we're just fucking.
We are now infusing the brand of barstle sports and foreplay just in the, just in the, like, nothing.
the mix with the top golfers in the world.
So it has been fucking awesome.
And Harry Higgs, every time I see that guy,
I mean, I just have to keep talking about him.
He is the best.
He is the absolute best person in the world.
He's so jolly, man.
He's just so jolly and friendly and, like,
he just, the second you see him,
if you feel like that guy is my buddy
and I could say anything to him,
and he would engage in conversation
and ask me about my family and my life
and my feelings and how I'm doing.
Yeah.
At one point, he like went under his breath.
He's like, I have you all fooled.
Because, like, he kind of walked by him.
Like, there goes that man again.
There goes the best man on PG8 door.
He's like, I got you fucking fooled, man.
Me and Michael Greller, we talked a little bit about you with Greller, obviously,
when you guys played together.
But he's, him and I connected on Iowa.
He was like, you're the guy from Iowa, right?
And I was like, yes, yes, I am.
Let's talk about it.
And he was like, those are the best people in the world.
And I've just never agreed with somebody more about something.
So it was really, yeah, just being in the mix and being able to talk to guys like this is really,
not only is it worth it for us as a brand,
but at this point it's just a lot of fucking fun man we talked to abraham answers so here's a couple
little inside things here that we really didn't get on video um well Patrick reed also we like
Patrick reed just comes to barstool golf and gives it's very fun i don't that trench kind of
mentioned this i don't know what's going on with Patrick reed because he kind of like does his
preparations for major golf tournaments and then walks over to us as if we are the podium for like
asking questions at these majors like he puts his hands behind his back
And he was, okay, you guys can start now.
And I'm like, oh, fuck.
Okay, like, what do you think?
He did.
No, he does that.
He did his warm up, and we were standing right behind him.
And obviously, we're close with Kessler, his caddy, like we're talking to him a little bit.
And then as soon as P. Reid is done, he just does a 180, turns around.
And like, Frankie's saying, like, he's standing on a podium, like, what do you guys got for me?
And he'll stand there for as long as we want, answering as many questions as we want.
And I'm just confused about the whole thing.
I know you got close with him at Wingfoot, obviously.
You did the post round interviews every single day.
But it's something's going on where Patrick Reed just assumes Barstool Golf is his one media outlet that he will talk to.
It's insane.
It's like someone slipped him something.
And now all he thinks about golf media is that we, us, like anyone that has Barstall golf on is the only person that is going to ask him questions and he's going to answer them.
It's like the weirdest thing.
And so we talked about wind.
So this is why I brought it up.
Incredible.
Incredible.
The wind was fucking.
I find it so good.
And you can tell all the other ones are like buddies and you're high.
And re, it's like you guys turn into fucking like the scrum where you're like throwing questions at him with your little microphone.
He sets that tone and it's, you're right.
It's had to.
It's unlike any of the other guys.
He's just like, what do you guys got for me?
And he's very gracious with this time.
But it's, we talked about wind.
So we kind of got buddy buddy.
He was out there grinding and he was shaping this fucking shot with the three wood.
in a five wood around. So basically
he took an alignment stick
and just dug it into the ground, like
basically like sticking up in the air out of
the ground. And he was
just shaping shots around it. Maybe it was maybe
like five or ten yards ahead of him.
So I literally like, we hadn't really talked to
Peery. We were talking to Kessler. And I just like
out of nowhere was just like, hey Patrick,
what are you doing right now? Like what is that?
And he kind of loved that. He was like
explaining it. He's like, well, like we have to
keep it to the right side of the stick because we want
to be able to go outside to end. We want to
draw and then he started like roasting kessler he's like i draw golf balls kessler fades them and and
and and and slices them so that really got him going so i'm like oh shit this is about to be like a
patrick reed video we're about to do this and then he kind of turned that off and it was like
okay i'm i'm ready to answer questions from the media so he is one of a kind patrick reed
i love getting stuff from him because he gets clicks whether it's good or bad people just love
to watch p reed um but he does love the win so the reason i brought this up again is a third time
saying that. Patrick Reed and Abraham Answer were the two people that have stuck out to me
where when they walked by or we asked them how they're doing this week and how they're how they're
preparing or how they feeling they both had this look in their eyes like I hope this wind cranks up
even more because I'm a fucking monster in this stuff like Abraham answers like I like this
separates me from the rest of the crowd like all these guys out here that don't want to hit on the
range a couple guys were literally like I don't want to hit on the range today because I
hate hitting into the wind.
Abraham Answer is like, I'm, I can absolutely play in this thing.
Like, like, as if he's like Pocahontas.
This guy can legitimately just shape the wind at the snap of a finger.
Him and Patrick Reed both gave me this like weird wink.
Like just wait and see what I do out here this week with this wind.
So those are two guys whether, I mean, Patrick Ree is probably up there with a favorite
to like contend for the actual PJ championship.
But Abraham Answer, if you're trying to throw that guy to top tens, top 25s on your
Barstle Sportsbook, especially if you're in Indiana.
We're just live in there. That's
a guy to keep your eye on. A lot of people
are buzzing about Abraham Ancer out here at
Kiowa.
You guys mentioned DJ earlier, Dustin
Johnson. Dustin Johnson's actually go-to
drink on the golf course,
but go-to sports drink is body armor.
Today's athletes deserve more than your
grandfather's tired, old, salty sports
drink. It's full of all kinds of artificial
dyes. Body armor
enters the picture made with potassium-packed
electrolytes, antioxidants, and B vitamins, plus no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or dyes.
Body Armor sports drink provides hardworking hydration and more.
And it tastes delicious.
It's honestly just de-licious.
The, I would say the orange mango, the fruit punch are a couple of my favorites.
But Body Armor is just genuinely good for you.
Like there's always, we always knew with other sports drinks growing up that like, yeah,
they have the sports drink kind of tagged to them.
But like you learn as you become an adult, they're like not good for you.
They should have a bunch of artificial stuff.
They're bad.
Body armor is delicious, very, very good, and it is good for you.
Like I said, it's got no artificial sweeteners, flavors, dyes, it's got coconut water,
it's got B vitamins.
It tastes great, potassium-packed electrolytes.
It's just really good stuff.
It's helped athletes stay on top of their games, available for purchase in store and on Amazon now.
We drink body armor.
They got a ton of good flavors.
Goldberries new.
really good. Blue Raspberry's new. It's really good. They're Barry Lemonade.
Phenomenal. So, big thanks to body armor. So I do, I do like the head games, if you will,
going into a tournament like this of, you know, there's a lot of courses where it's going to be
similar sort of obstacles each time. Like each time you go to a course or a tournament.
This one's different because it's the wind, right? And like the wind, you can't really do
anything about it. Like if it comes out of this side this way or that way, it's into you,
it's off the right. Like, you just have to adjust to be able to hit the shots. And you can sense
the guys, which I'm really glad you guys brought that up, who embrace it and who fucking love it
and are like, I hope it blows because if it's just perfectly calm and we play 7,850 yards,
I might not be able to beat everybody else here in a vacuum. But when you get wind going and you
get chaos and you have to get crafty and you have to start hitting little draws around fucking
sticks in the ground like Patrick Reed's doing.
doing. Like there's certain people that get jacked up about that. And it's interesting you guys
said that because I remember Patrick Reed said the same kind of stuff at Wingfoot last year
going into it where he was like, I embrace the difficulty. Everyone's talking about the grounds
crew. You guys did behind the greens with a grounds crew and how Wingfoot's impossible and they've
had winners at five, six, seven, eight over par there before he was all jacked up. And sure enough,
he was the leader of the tournament, you know, after 54 holes and had a really good chance to win.
So I like that there's different mindsets going into it. You know, I,
I fear for our guy Kevin Kisner, who I wanted to get to next, that, like, he, he doesn't strike me as a guy that thinks he has a chance this week, right?
Yeah, I would say confidence is probably low.
I don't know that for a fact, but it's just a really long golf course.
It's a really long and windy golf course.
And it's just, you know, and honestly, like, if we had had Kevin Kisner on this show a few months ago and laid out the major championships like we did a couple years ago, I think he'd give a very similar answer where he's just like, I don't really.
have a chance here. So, I mean, maybe, maybe he'll surprise this. Maybe the wind will tear everybody up
and he's a he'll putt lights out. He's one of the best putters in the world. But it's just not a course
that sets up well for our guy kids. Yeah, I just, anyone that can't absolutely crank a golf ball and
shape a golf ball like with that stinging action, you have to see how many guys are hitting stingers
and low flight balls on the range. It's so funny to see just like they're laughing. They're so, I said at one
point to Trent. I've never in my life
seen so many one-handed finishes on
a driving range at a fucking professional golf
championship in my...
Everyone is just frustrated
on the driving range. Like, Hadeki Matsuyama,
and I know he probably does this all the time.
The guy just fucking won the Masters.
Sick golfer. That's not breaking news.
I think he hated every single
ball he hit on the driving range today.
And I don't know if that's because he's like trying to
work in shots that he probably isn't used to
or is trying to do things. But
every single swing, head down,
arm flailing like looking back at his caddy like what is happening to me right now um but yeah you saw a lot of that we saw a couple shanks i know a lot of buzz was on social media about the driving range just had a fucking car in the middle of the driving range and like not one person hit it if you put that at any amateur fucking driving range i can't tell you the damage it happens to this thing they put it at like 120 yards just to the right of the final stall or like area on the right outrageous confidence by whatever car company that is to not have these guys
just pelting your car that you're trying to promote with golf balls.
It was an absolutely insane placement of a vehicle.
Jesus.
Yeah, I mean, look, when you've got guys that are the best players in the world on a driving range that are not,
like usually in the range, they can get into a groove where they just love every single shot,
shot of a shop, shop, shop, because they're that good.
We've seen it.
We've seen it a million times.
That's good.
I dig that.
The second part of my three part thing earlier was this,
Evan Kisner thing that you guys said, where you know, you're mentioning when we see that crew now,
when you see Dewey, when you see Kiz, when you see JT, Trent Ryan's swing coach, and it feels like family,
you know, I want to ask you guys, are you getting closer now to my take when you guys basically
pincered me into a corner of if it's Tiger versus Kiz, you know, trying to win a major championship
like one of them's family. And it's a tougher decision than you thought or not.
I'd still say at the end of the day
I have I mean I fucking love Kevin Kisner
I really love that whole crew
I mean they're phenomenal
I just man to see Tiger Woods win more majors would be
I don't care who he beats I just I can't I can't
I can't give it to you I mean I understand
that your guys relationship is even more than ours
but even then I just can't do it
it's fucking Tiger Woods especially now
like if Tiger comes back
and if Tiger comes back now so we ask you
that question pre-Tiger shattering his leg into a billion pieces.
If Tiger Woods comes back in two years and is on 18 at Augusta and Sunday to win the most
ridiculous major of all time, you're going to be like, come on, Kevin, beat this guy's old
ass.
Like, no way.
No way.
Look, I don't, A, I don't, I don't know.
I think, I honestly think, or I would like to claim that, like, there's one guy out there,
I don't know. I honestly don't know.
It's an impossible question.
It's such a good story. It's such a good sports story.
That would be maybe the best sports story of all time.
We've been diehard Tiger guys forever.
And like if we had never met anybody on tour ever,
Tiger would be 2,000 times.
You know, we'd be bigger fans of him 2,000 X than anyone else on tour.
But I guess like the Delta is getting a little closer for me
is essentially what it comes down to.
And it's like, how can you, when you've got a guy that treats you like family
that's like your boy and then you would root not for him then you're like yeah no yeah but it's
tiger woods and you're like okay that's actually a fair point so i don't know i would just um i did
i love that you guys said that like it feels like our family is coming down the stairs and like
arriving at the range because it's the whole squad it's like Trent and jake have now done a weekend
in like Georgia with john tilly and his kids like tubing behind a fucking boat and that's like
that's like kids that's like kids is guy and they all go duck hunting together and it's like you know
So the whole thing is, it's good, it's cool.
It's great that we're, you know, in the mix as much as we can possibly be,
that you guys are just boys with everyone on the golf course.
I like that, like, Maddie Fitz has clearly locked in and he's focused at these things.
He's told us that before, yet he couldn't help but walk by and just chirp Reggie for his hoodie.
Which you knew he had seen on, like, how long in the day did you make it with that hoodie on?
Oh, once Mattie Fitz's, yeah, it was a long time, maybe five hours, six hours,
but once Mani Fitz said something, it was off.
Okay.
Because at that point, I was like, this is getting fucking ridiculous.
I understand.
I was also sweating.
I'm like, dude, no ores and alps in the world can, can, like, help me.
I was just a fucking pool of sweat.
So it was, it was, it was, it was long overdue to take that hoodie off.
I do want to say before we get on, uh, to other things, we were talking about the wind.
And obviously, wind's going to be a huge storyline here at the PJ championship.
We actually talked to Scott Van Pelt, um, who was fucking the man.
and we had such a great conversation with him about the Islanders and just about everything like
barstool the LTP the whole thing and he was telling us like we were kind of going back and forth
and we're going to get him on the podcast at some point he said he would love to come on he's a guy that
he's a guy that is really hard to like ask a guy like that hey can you come talk about golf a little
bit more but he said he he couldn't he he there's certain things that he just like wants to be a part
of and this is one of them like for sure that he would come on so that's going to be great but
um he we were talking about like Scott Fawcett and
like how the decade, um, uh, argument comes into play with all these golfers.
Maybe not an argument, but like way of style of play where it's so mathematical and analytical.
And then you get a golf tournament like this with a lot of wind.
And it's really hard to say that like that comes into effect really at all, right?
Like it feels like the decade stuff is like almost in a perfect bubble.
And I wish we would have asked Scott about that.
Like he does bring wind into it and like the way that the, the ball can move from right to left.
like what is it like the um the disparity dispersion rate right yeah yeah but dude when you have like
gus and stuff like this like 25 mile an hour 30 mile an hour of swirling winds like at some
point and you saw it on the range like you just need to have that skill and that like ball sack
to be able to like bend golf balls and legitimately become like pocahontas out there and i don't know
that you can download an app and learn how to do that right like like what part of what
SPP was saying is that like when you're over the ball and you've already done all your
analytics and all the math on where you know that the best place for that ball to go is and you're
standing over the ball and right before you swing a gust of wind comes like he kept saying like
was that gust of wind on your sheet was that gustav win on the sheet that you were reading and the answer is
no but let me let me confirm but just stand in a PJ championship talking about this was
Scott Van Pell yes it's preposterate I mean it was crazy we talked to
right. Are we putting enough highlight
on that? Like that's
unbelievable. It's like a 20 to 25 minute
conversation was insane. Didn't never stop.
He's like the man. He's the fucking man.
And dude, you would be very proud of me because you know
I'm not like everyone probably thinks I'm like outgoing
and crazy and a lunatic but like sometimes
in these situations I get a little shy and like guys will just walk by
us and I'll just be like nope, nope, nope, like just made eye contact
with that guy. He looked away and that's I'm going to fucking like
kill myself. It was like crazy and then all of a sudden
SVP walked by and I
just stood in front of him. I go,
SVP, Frankie Borelli, Barclos Sports, and he goes,
no fucking way. Like, because like he never
would have noticed us without that, right? Like, maybe
whatever. He doesn't know us by face, but
he's like, oh, your islander is like tough one. So
immediately he knew everything. We fucking hit
it off. And he's just the absolute man.
But he actually brought up. So,
and I want to stand up from, he
did clarify that he doesn't, he's not
anti-analytics. And he's not
anti-decade stuff. He just
thinks that at the end of the day, like
what Trent is saying, that wind, that gust
of wind isn't on your sheet. It's not in your app. And like at the end of the day, you have to
just learn how to hit the shot. And he brings up one example, and he says it perfectly because he's
fucking Scott Van Pelt. But Tom Watson in 2009 has a chance to become the oldest champion at the
open of all time. He's in a playoff with Stewart's Sink at Turnberry. And he's standing over a
fucking iron and he's debating eight iron or nine iron. And Tom Watson knows exactly what kind of shot he has to
hit. He knows the yardage, he knows the middle of the green, he knows the front of the green,
of the green. He decides to go with an eight iron. He flushes the fucking golf ball in a playoff
against Stewart Stink to win the open, right? This would have been the most incredible open championship
win of all time. He would have surpassed Jack Nicholas as the oldest winner of all time. All that stuff.
And a fucking, once he makes this contact with the golf ball, a gust of win hits in the middle of the
air. Now, was that part of your pre-shot analytics or any of this? No, because you just didn't
know that was going to happen. What happened? He overshot the,
the green by a lot and ended up losing the playoff to Stuart Sink. That sucks and that is also
something that you can't control. So at the end of the day, like, that's just golf, man. Like, you just
got to go out there and play at some point. That's kind of the point he was making.
Well, yeah. Everything goes out the window once that gust of wind came in and that ball was in the air.
Everything. Right. And SVP wasn't on one side entirely. He was like, the analytical guys need to
take a little bit of that feel and mix that into the game. And all the guys who want to play with all
the feel they need to mix in Samantha Blaken to their game. So it's like it's it's a melting pop.
But at the end of the day, it is golf and you've got to feel what is best for you.
It makes me think if a guy like Bryson doesn't give like the feel enough like a guy, he won
the fucking US Open at Wingfoot. He dominated the field. No one else was even under par. This guy
has to be able to give himself some credit that he's able to adjust on the fly. And it's not
everything that he learned in Como's ridiculous like basement dungeon that they have and they're
hitting golf balls at the thousand miles an hour, right?
Like, there has to be some aspect that you're able to adjust.
We talked to Joey Lakava at when we were after, and we've probably said this in the last
couple episodes, but when he was talking about like Tiger Woods knowing where his misses are, right?
Like, that's a feel thing.
He knows that when he's coming a little bit too steep.
He knows to push something out.
That's all that's like, feel and knowing golf.
Like, I just feel like these guys don't give themselves enough credit for just being born with,
like, another part of their brain.
and we can talk to the brain doctor
that was in Happy Gilmore about this.
But I just think that they have something
that you can't learn in an app.
You just have to fucking hit the golf ball.
These guys on the range today
were learning how to hit these shots
that they probably never even attempted in their lives.
It's, first of all, I mean,
I just want to reiterate you guys
are just having the coolest conversation
of all time with Scott Van Pelt
about like analytics and golf.
It was so cool, man.
I do think that this is,
I think you're right,
and I think that it's backed up
by the fact that Augusta is a place that requires, like, imagination and feel and, you know,
feel your way through shots around the green to get the ball up under the right tier.
When you're chipping, like Tiger would talk about, you know,
chipping it with cut spin or draw spin because you've got to find a way to get the ball,
like, over this knob, up of, through the, you know, the up slope and then kill it on this back ledge.
And, like, and he basically talks about how Bryson, like, hasn't had or hasn't executed that, like,
artistry and feel yet around Augusta to have success, whereas at like wingfoot, he was able to
just like pound it out there and then hack it out of the rough because he was farther than most
other people. And yeah, he had like a really good short game that week and those greens aren't easy,
but like it was a lot of like just like hack and run it out of the, you know, the chipping because
the rough was so thick. Whereas Augusta, it's like these tight lies and you got to be really imaginative.
So that definitely is in line with that. And, you know, I will say too, I got and we're not going to
name any names, but after the Scott Fawcett and the decade interview, which we loved, like, it was
fascinating stuff for us. This is very different than any way we've obviously ever thought about
the game of golf. You know, I got a few texts from some prominent folks in the golf world that
were like, how big of a douchebag can that guy possibly come off that? So, like, yeah, we were,
you know, and again, like he was super nice to us. I love talking with him. I think it's fascinating
talking about it, but it's clearly not the only way to think about the game of golf. Right, and it's not,
And he had me just like wrapped around his finger like like and I'm, this is not like an anti-Scott
Fawcett thing because I do respect the way that he approaches the game.
I do obviously respect him coming on the podcast.
But the fact that he was just like, I'm right and you're wrong.
I'm big and you're small.
I was like, you're fucking right, dude.
Like, yeah.
I was, dude, I was, I've golf three or four times since that interview.
And I've told every single person I took up to the first tee about just like my new style of
golf.
I'm just going to be like, I'm going to download the decade app and I'm going to learn all of my
misses and all of my trajectories and all of my dispersion rate dispersion and like at the end of the day
then i come to a real golf tournament a championship with actual guys who made it and that's no dig at
fucking scott fawcett but sometimes i'm just like i think he's just anger at the world that he
never made it like whatever it is what it is but i would love to know if these guys like really do
agree with that because it doesn't seem like they're sitting there it's just at a golf course like this
with that much wind and this much
creativity, like you're
saying, that you need it, Augusta, and you need
imagination in a place like this, I just
think guys that are able
to step into another zone are going to
elevate themselves this week.
It's not going to be the guys that learned it
in a classroom or in their fucking
lab. It's going to be guys that actually
know how to bend golf balls
like superheroes. Like, that's what you're
going to need this week. You need a Tiger
Woods like Stinger
two iron off fucking T's, and you
You need like crazy decision making.
I'm very excited for this championship.
I am very excited to see who wins this thing.
And one thing that's really cool is that your guy's excitement level for this has continued to elevate day after day being on site, which I think is like such a cool part of it.
It really gives it a lot of like verification or credibility that like now that you guys have been there, you've been on site, you've seen it.
That you're getting more and more hyped for the tournament.
You're seeing the players.
how locked in they are and even on the text group of like,
yeah, this guy we got a little bit from him,
but like he's locked in,
he's dialed to major championship.
It's a really, really hard golf course as everybody talks about.
It's just getting me, like, hyped up that these guys are about to play for a major championship.
And one where, like, Roy McElroy just won a couple weeks ago,
and he won here by eight shots.
So, like, he's the favorite.
You got all kinds of storylines with Jordan Speath, who's been, you know,
resurgence.
He played well with the Masters.
He played well last week.
He won a couple months ago.
You've got DJ, you've got ROM, you've got all of these names.
And it feels pretty wide open, I would say.
Like it doesn't feel like there's a few names that could win.
It feels like the damn thing is wide open.
And there's a ton of different names you could throw at it that could end up coming out on top.
And it's going to be beautiful.
I'm sure they're going to have awesome drone work out there.
Oh, yeah.
Which I fucking love, like the new angles that you get from the drone work that you've never
been able to get it, some of the other tournaments that they've had out there, and the way that
they splice and mix that into the coverage nowadays, like, I can't wait to see Keough, especially
because I haven't been able to be, like, with everything we got going on here, I haven't
been able to be, you know, consuming every single second of, like, Brandl Schambly, shoving, like,
stats down my throat on live from all week, like I usually am. So, like, all of a sudden,
it's just going to start, and it's going to hit us, you know, Thursday morning, and I'm pumped,
man, I'm like, you guys got me hyped. You got me really hyped. And we got to talk about the
Taylor-made truck.
Yes.
So this video you guys put out, first of all, our landing page is live.
We're TaylorMade athletes if you didn't know.
Barstoolsports.com slash tailor-made.
Go get the SIM 2.
Check it out.
Check out our gear.
Check out the latest videos that we put out.
Check out the tour response, which is a golf ball.
That's for people who've always wondered what those high-priced tour balls are like.
You're afraid to pull the trigger, maybe.
Maybe it's just not in the budget for you.
Tor response ball is just an awesome ball.
You can even get them branded with the Barstool logo.
at the Barstall store, but do yourself a favor.
Go to Barstallosports.com slash Taylormade.
All right, I saw the video.
It was phenomenal.
That guy is just one of the great people I've ever seen.
And like his gig is, I mean, I saw some people being like,
we thought Riggs had the best gig of all time.
Like, this guy's gig is off the charts.
Tell me a little bit about this truck.
Taylor Made Wade, man.
Taylor made Wade, baby.
What a nickname.
I will say, so we were like thinking of fucking content,
obviously I'm like stressing out before the tournament.
we're like, oh, okay, why don't we message Taylor Made and see, like, what they got going for
us? We're tailor-made athletes now. Can we just, like, go on the truck? Like, is that something that can
happen? We wanted to do that when we were at Taylor-Made Media Day. We never ended up doing it, so let's do
it now. They're like, go over and knock on the door. Like, I thought this would have to be
cleared by someone or you had to tell someone you were coming. We walked over. It's like,
first of all, Taylor-Made has their thing set up, and he says it in the video. I don't know if it
actually made the cut on it, but he's like, we make it higher and bigger than ever.
one else because we can.
Like, well, they, yeah, there's width and there's length requirements for these trucks
that show up at these tournaments, but they never gave them a height requirement.
So Taylor Made was like, well, then we're just going to blast this fucker to the sky so everybody
at the golf tournament can see it.
And that's exactly what they did.
So when you're on the range, all you see is this huge Sim2 logo and this Taylor made
color scheme and it's fucking awesome.
So we go over there and we knock on the door.
No one really gets up to like greed.
Like, I just opened up this door.
These guys are all sitting around.
We see that guy, Wade, who's,
like stunning to see for the first time.
You can't believe like what that guy looks like.
And then because he's just a fucking,
he's like,
he looks just exactly like the guy that drives the fucking
Taylor Made truck around and can build golf clubs out of like his ass.
Like he can,
he can build a golf club off the stuff that he just finds on the road.
We've, it's never been clear that like,
yes, we're Taylor Made athletes,
but there's a very, very big difference.
And we know this and everyone knows this between like,
when DJ probably shows up to that truck and when we show up to that truck.
Because we walked in and they were like,
what the fuck do you guys?
guys want. I wanted to
fucking throw, I wanted to take a knife and just
cut all the skin I had off and just
lay it on the floor and just run out of that place.
I was like, hey, uh, yeah,
they, I just like, I started like mumbling.
Like, they said we could just like knock on the door.
And now I'm thinking to myself, like, now I just sound like a drunk
fan that's like just stumbled into this thing.
I'm like, they said we can just like knock on the door and come see you guys.
Um, Frankie, Borrelli, Trent.
And they're just staring at us. I'm like,
who this is tough.
Um, we're barstool sports.
It's almost like when you're like, Brian Baumgartner.
Yeah, like, hey, you know, you remember us there?
You know, you try to avoid us?
And he just didn't say anything.
And then you just almost like just jumped into a drain.
I literally, I was like, I need a lifeline here, right?
I'm looking at you guys.
I need you guys to understand what's happening here.
We're trying to get a tour of this bus.
And then all of a sudden, they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's for, it's for play bar stool.
And we ended up being, you know, greeted like you wouldn't believe in that place.
They basically acted like that truck was our truck.
Like, as if we are tailor-made athletes,
It's showing us all the nooks and the crannies and what a truck that is.
Dude, when he, when Taylor made Wade, when he opened up those drawers, the first set of drawers that, like, first he showed like the shafts and we're like, oh, wow.
Like look at all these shafts.
Like every, the vent dis and all these fucking brands.
And then he went to the bottom shelf, the bottom drawer and just pulled out a drawer of just SIM two drivers that just never ended.
Like every drawer was filled with a SIM two driver.
Sim two drivers, Sim two driver Max, Sim two drivers that have nine lost, Sim two drivers that have ten.
I mean, the most prepared person in the world is Taylor Made Wade.
I've never seen anything like it.
I thought I was going to have to put Frankie in like a cold shower once those driverheads came out.
He, I thought he had like a sexual reaction.
And I did too.
I'm just throwing him under the bus of like, because you don't see, you never see that many.
You don't ever see that many, like you just don't see beautiful driverheads like.
that all in a row. We have ours in our bag and we go golf together, whatever. But when there's
just beautiful, they almost look like pieces of candy in that drawer. It was just, yeah, we had
borderline sexual reactions to it. And Taylor Made Wade tells us some interesting facts about it where
like, so most trucks have grinders on them where guys will come in and they're going to want
there or mill and they'll want to get things milled, right? These wedges. So you'll bring in a wedge and you
want to get it milled. But what we found out is that Taylor made's new wedges are all like factory
milled already. Right. So every single wedge is the same exact way. You're never going to find a
tailor made wedge differently. So guys like Dustin Johnson and Rory Macaro and Kalamorakawa,
I mean, I think he said a couple of his names. I can't remember. But I think it was definitely
Dustin Johnson hits a new wedge like every single tournament. Or maybe even every single round,
to be honest. It's like a brand new wedge all the time.
And it makes, the way Taylor Made makes that wedge allows him to do that, right?
Because every day that he uses that new wedge, it's the same time, it's the same way as the one he used yesterday.
I mean, but if you had to hand grind them and hand mill them and hands whatever they're doing in there.
It'll be a little different, right?
Just a little bit different.
Just a tiny bit different.
And these guys can tell, man.
We've seen those stories about Tiger Woods being able to tell the difference in a shaft and a driver head between one ounce and two ounces.
So Taylor Made Wade takes that stuff extremely seriously to the point where like, I think he was even saying like Dustin Johnson won't, he has to build Dustin Johnson's clubs.
Like these guys know that Taylor Made is so fucking good at this that they won't even trust like they won't trust anyone else.
But Taylor Made Wade to get their clubs ready for that day and that tournament.
It's just so, it's so good.
That's one of the best things I've ever heard.
How do we not know Taylor Made Wade was a thing?
until today.
I don't know, man.
It is a crime.
He is a fantastic.
What a legend that guy is.
Well, look, I'm very glad people got to look at that truck
because it's the behind-the-scenes stuff that, like,
you know, you just wouldn't know, you wouldn't know,
you wouldn't think about it.
And then going on there and seeing it, it's like, well, of course it's this sick.
Of course they have all this stuff.
Of course they can quite literally make any golf club in the world
because the best players in the world might need it at any moment.
It's also like makes me realize how little I know about equipment compared to the guy in the world who knows the most about equipment.
Like I know nothing.
I don't, you know, like forever I would just be like, yeah, I just got, I'll just get a new set of irons.
Or like I would lose a seven iron and then somebody, a friend of mine would have an old seven iron.
I'd be like, yeah, I'll just take that seven iron.
I could have a totally different shaft, totally different club.
That would be like, yeah, it has a seven on it.
Who cares?
Like it's the same thing.
It's just totally different, completely different.
Your ball flight will be different.
How important shafts are.
all of that stuff.
There are people out there that know a ton about it and how it affects your game and your
ball flight.
Like,
you didn't even have to change your swing.
Like,
we were at the kingdom last week.
And I was out there with my buddy who,
you know,
we booked him to go to the kingdom and get fitted.
And like,
they're like,
no,
your swing's great.
You know,
you're fighting the hook a little bit.
Okay.
You just change the shaft.
And all of a sudden it's like a beautiful high cut.
And it's like,
yeah,
no,
you're just playing the wrong shaft for your swing.
Like,
your swing's great.
And it's just,
holy fuck, dude.
Like,
How is that a real thing?
But then again, how wouldn't it be?
Like, technology is so good.
Like, Elon Musk, who's, you know, all over right now.
You know, he's trying to put people on the moon.
Like, of course we can just change shafts and you can hit the ball better.
Like, of course we can.
Like, that's what Taylor Made does.
How about the weight dispersion in the clubs, right?
Taylor made weight at one point said, yeah, a lot of people will cut down a shaft
and their fitter or someone will be like, all right, well, it's just going to be a little
bit lighter now, right?
Like, that's just going to happen.
No, no, no.
Taylor made Wade has all of the.
weights every single thing that he's going to put into that club to make sure that even though
it may be cut down or extended, it's going to be the same exact weight that you wanted it at
prior to getting that adjustment. That guy just has it so fucking dialed in like you're saying.
It's basically like, is it aerodynamics? No, I'm trying to think of like what's like, what's
the study of like building spaceships and rockets? Biome. Aerospace? That's just.
Aerosmith?
What?
The file mechanics?
Who's a person that like that, who's a person that like builds a fucking like rocket?
An engineer.
An aerospace engineer.
There we go.
Jake in the background just kept saying aerospace.
Like that wording doesn't work, right?
It's not.
A person's not aerospace.
Yeah.
Jake is very confidently wrong.
A person is not aerospace.
Like, like I understand that you're probably smarter than me, but that just didn't
sound right every time he said it. Aerospace
engineer is what Taylor made
Let's. He kept shoving it too.
No, aerospace. Aerospace.
Hey, Frankie, aerospace.
So, we got to stay to what we know and that's Taylor
Made Wade. That's the guy we know. Taylor Made Wade is an aerospace
engineer when it comes to clubs. He can
fucking build it out of nothing. And I
love that guy. I really do.
And he, dude, he drives to every
single tournament. He said
he's been home 12 days
this year. Yep.
Come on, man.
It's May 19.
19th right now.
Wow.
He's going to be out at Tori.
So, Riggs, you'll be there.
You'll meet Taylor Made Wade.
What a moment that'll be.
You're going to get into that truck.
You're not going to understand why you can't just like take all the stuff home.
Like you're going to want to just like, he has just a plethora of clubs.
I'm like, can I just grab these things?
And he basically slapped my hand.
They look so sexy.
Do like just a drawer of, you know, like some twos and all that.
It's just like makes you, you just want to grab them and I'll take them all home, like you said.
So I'm very excited to meet Taylor Made Wade.
Some asshole on Twitter.
I was like, I tweeted out, man, when they took that drawer, when they opened that drawer
and showed all those SIM twos, I almost passed out.
And some fucking Twitter egg goes, he goes, oh, really?
You've never seen a golf club in your life, you fucking idiot.
It honestly made me laugh because if you're not like an equipment in Hardo or like someone
that really does love the game of golf and like all the intricacies of the equipment and the
driver and all that stuff. Like, I understand. It's just a, it's just, it's a moving just like
equipment room, right? Like something you find at like a fucking PGA super store or whatever. But
it is very, very funny that the way he wrote that was, uh, it really, it got me. That, that
drawer of driverheads really felt like what was inside the suitcase in Pulp Fiction. Like,
when they open that up, like I feel like they're looking down at Sim2 driverheads. That's how
beautiful those were. Yeah. They, uh, they honestly were.
So, Trent, I wanted to ask about your connection with John Tillery now,
and the embrace and seeing your guy.
What kind of updates does he ask for out of you?
Is he asking about how's your body feeling?
Have you thought about your swing?
What was your performance like in your rounds you've played since then?
Do you guys ask him about his kid?
Give me the full deal because a lot of folks are invested in your little relationship with your swing coach here.
Yeah, so I mean, it's not a ton of updates because no joke.
Him and I talk all the time.
Like, ever since I was down there working on my swing, I talked to him constantly.
So when I see him, it's just good to see him.
I did.
I hugged him for a good 45 seconds.
We did talk a little bit about the round that Frankie and I played because we hadn't talked a ton about that.
But like, it really is when I see John Tilly, JT, and I know Frankie hates when I call him JT.
He's like, it's in, you can't call him JT.
There's another JT in the golf world, but JT is my guy and I'm going to be calling him JT.
Also, I would say this.
I'd say this.
It depends which crew you're with.
If you're with the kids crew, you got to call him JT.
I don't know.
Yeah, like, if you're actually physically with their crew, but like, I can't have Trent being like,
oh, here comes JT.
And like, I've read a fucking PJ championship.
I'm like, oh, where's Justin Thomas?
I remember, speaking of that, a couple years ago, we were at Pebble Beach.
And Kiz had totally fooled me because he was like, yeah,
Why don't you going to swing by the house on Tuesday?
And we'll do the pod.
And J.T.'s staying with me.
He could do the pod too.
And I was like, are you fucking kidding?
Like, amazing.
And we were, you know, and we're texting back and forth that I was like trying to kind of confirm.
Like, that's cool that he's going to do it.
And then, you know, when we showed up, no offense, but like John Tilly turns a corner with like a bagel on his hand.
And I was.
Hey, he's just as important.
John Tillerie is just as important in the golf world.
I will say, JT.
We got clear that up.
John Tiller, he was grinding on the putting green with Ricky Fowler.
Like, we act like this is just Kiz's guy.
Like, this guy's out there with Ricky Fowler who is grinding to get back into the limelight, right?
Like, that's not an easy job.
Kiz is his guy.
And I'm not saying, like, but like Ricky Fowler is, I feel like is a new project for him, right?
And maybe it's not like, that's not the right wording.
But like, this has to be somewhat more of a new challenge.
to have a guy like Ricky Fowler who has had success, who is like slipping a little bit,
watching the fucking masters of Tiger Woods's house, like sipping on John Daly's.
You want to get this guy back in the mix.
He's fucking slick Rick.
That's who this guy is.
Can we get this guy dialed in at the PGA championship?
And they were working, man.
We asked JT about it.
And he's like, yeah, man, he's walking with a little bit of a swagger right now.
Messing around with the guys, throwing a couple digs at people.
Like that's, that crew.
When guys like that, JT, Spieth, Ricky, are.
kind of like messing around with the crew i feel like they're in good spirits um but yeah when i when i
see my guy j t it really feels like a guy that i've known for 10 years some people you just hit
it off with and john tillery is one of those guys for me so yeah when i saw him i was like where
you know how's it going where you stay in and he was like you know i'm staying over here and
the fam's coming down who i obviously met and they're going to the beach and you know it's just
we have a really good relationship we got a lot of things to work on still we talked to we
talked a little shop just about, you know, keep my lower half moving, you know, don't let yourself
drift too far away with the takeaway. Make sure you're staying over the ball. Things like that.
Do you know, do you know now what that shit means? Like, is that in one or out the other sometimes?
Or are you like, yeah, no, I know, I know that now. You're right. I do know what he means because
when the video comes out of, of me going down there and training with him, he drills it into my
fucking head. Like, there's no way I couldn't know what that is. Like, when I'm, it's going to be
hard to explain on a podcast and the video is not that great because you can't see my lower half.
But essentially, when I was taking the club back before, my entire body was shifting to the
right.
And that's just a big no-no.
So I need to stop shifting and just stay over it.
So I don't have to work so hard to come back through the ball.
Because if I drift too far, then I'm using all my power to bring myself back around.
But if I stay over it, the power just stays right there and I can swing all the way through
the ball, if that makes any sense.
It does. It does.
It does. Good. Because, I mean, look, we've all been when, like, somebody's explaining something on a video that's a golf instructor and they get to a part where they start dropping phrases and you're just like, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I don't know what that means. I don't know what that feel is. I don't, I could never execute on that thought. I don't, I just don't know. I just don't know. I just don't know. I'm glad that you know. I'm sorry, John Tillerie did his job.
Yeah, no, there were definitely moments where I had to stop and be like, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. And that's where you learn and that's where you figure it out. But I'm certainly.
not like a golf swing hardo. I just know a lot about my own swing because I watched a ton of video
and I had a very great swing coach in JT teaching me about it. But I don't know a ton about
anybody else's golf swings. But yeah, it's just great to see JT. I really like the guy. We work
well together. And I was finally able to see Kevin Kisner and say, oh, hey, we're one and the same.
You and I, we got the same swing coach. He thought that was very funny. It's also just true.
but it's a funny thing to say but it's you know i'm it's just another part of that crew that we are
getting to know and it's it's the best thing in the world um so scotty sheffler he um so you know
you guys had a little uh little chat with him he he seemed to know who you are which is great
well so he had walked by us a couple times during the tournament i mean during the practice
rounds and um we've talked about him quite a bit recently
saying like we kind of like his swagger and his like his just like nice guy smile all the time
type of personality on the golf course. Trent has been a very big fan of him for a long time.
That's just like I've always known Trent to just be a big Scottie Sheffler guy.
And when we're on the he's just cool. He's cool. I think we can all agree to that.
When he's on the golf course, he's kind of got that like you're talking about the swagger.
He kind of walks. He definitely cares and he wants to win. But like he's his whole world isn't
golf and I feel like he's a pretty normal guy.
He's got those squeaks when he swings.
His shoe does a little squeaky
noise. It always looks like he slips
when he swings. That's what my main takeaway
watching Scotty Shephler. So he was
coming off the driving
range today and I don't know what hit me
because we really don't call out
to guys very much. Like we're trying not to like
be fan boys, right? Which is what got
us in trouble with all the old fucking fucks.
But we are fanboys.
I mean, that's just who we are.
So obviously it just comes out of me like the child
that I am and I just go go get him this week Scotty
and he kind of like takes a couple steps and then we
continue our conversation because he just kind of walked by me
and like what did he say exactly Trent?
He goes uh he goes uh he goes he turns around and goes
goes I didn't think you knew who I was Frankie and I was like
I was like what the fuck did you say? I'm like what? He's like oh yeah I just didn't
think you knew who I was I'm like we love you and now we're getting into like a little
debate and he's like oh now you're being defensive like I didn't I just
Didn't think you guys knew who I was.
I'm like, I fucking know who you are, Scotty Scha.
What the fuck is going on right now?
And he had, at this point, he had gotten deep enough towards that, that stair, that bridge
where he was going over the putting green that these two were just yelling at each other.
Oh, get over here.
Yeah.
Frankie's like, I know who you are.
And he's like, I don't, I didn't think you would know who I am.
And then we were like, come over here so we can talk to you.
And then he was legitimately stunned that Frankie knew his name and who he was, which is mind
bottling to me.
That was one of the weirder moments that I've had.
on a golf course, especially at a pro tournament where a guy who has a name, like,
Scottie Shephler is a name, right?
Like he hasn't won anything fucking huge, but like he is a name on the PGA tour.
And the fact that like we're out there watching him practice and he's about to go out and
play in the PGA championship, the fact that he was like, oh my God, did like, did four play guys?
Just like, same eye.
It was like, it was very funny and very bizarre and made me feel uncomfortable that like that
happened because like I just, no, no, no.
We know who you are.
You don't know who we are.
That's how this works.
We are the fanboys on the other side of the ropes,
and that's how we're going to keep this thing.
So Scottie Schepler got a million more points in our book
because he couldn't have been cooler.
It comes over, fist pounds us, fist bumps us.
He didn't pound us, but he fist bumped us.
Just pounded you, right?
Scottie Schaeffler just beat the shit out of us on the driving range.
You know what beat the shit out of us?
You know what beat the shit out of us?
And specifically Trent, the son.
The fucking son, man.
This guy's a child, rigs.
This fucking guy.
I know I'm built like a child,
And it's very evident in times like these where like I have these skinny arms and my titties are hanging out.
But this fucking guy walking around this place is that he's like he was a, he was a problem, man.
He was a liability.
The sun defeats him every day.
He has to go sit down inside.
I've never seen anything like it.
I'm like, we're at the BGA championship.
He's like, I need I need 10 to 15 inside the air conditioning.
I'm like, well, number one and I'm pretty sure this is true, I'm allergic to the sun.
I'm definitely just allergic to the sun.
That is something that I've learned this week at the PJ Championship.
And this is not a new thing.
When the Barsoe Classic was in Atlantic City, it was on a Monday,
I had to skip recording the podcast that night because I was out in the sun and I felt so bad that night that I had to skip the podcast.
That's another point for me being allergic to the sun.
You literally had to skip the podcast.
I forgot about that.
Sun and poison.
defeated. I had done 288 episodes straight through anything that's going on in my life.
Podcast Iron Man. Right. And that night, and that day the sun defeated me so much because I'm allergic to it that I could not do the podcast. And let me walk you through my logic on why I look like this now. It actually doesn't look that bad. But when you...
Right. I actually look good on this. I look tan. But I'm actually incredibly burnt. I'm very burnt on the arms. But I have actually made a concerted effort.
And golf plays into this where I've just been out in the sunmore.
It was 12 to 14 months where I was just in my apartment during the pandemic.
And if you go back and look at, like, watch any of the tailor made videos that we did with, you know, superstars, I look like a dead body.
I look really, really bad.
Like me right now.
I just notice how white I look on this fucking thing.
Right.
That's just bad lighting.
But I've been making an effort to get out in the sun more.
Frankie and I've been golfing a lot.
Like I've just been out and I've been getting a nice base.
I'm not pasty white like Frankie is right now.
So coming to the PJ Championship this week, I felt confident going out, what was the first day?
Tuesday.
I was like, oh, I can just kind of go out there and don't have to put on sunscreen at all.
And I can, you know, get some sun and I'm going to get even tanner and look more bronze than I already do.
That was just a huge mistake.
The South Carolina sun were right on the ocean.
It's been 80 degrees every single day.
And I've just, I'm burnt to a crisp right now.
My face is burnt.
My arms are burnt.
Any part of my body that has been exposed is incredibly burnt.
So I went out again today.
I put on suntan lotion.
I don't think it helped all that much to be completely honest.
But I really do feel like shit when I'm out in the sun for a long time.
And I don't know if that's going away anytime soon to the point where I honestly think I'm allergic to the sun.
So you're clearly getting defeated by the sun.
That's kind of predictable you are very childish in that regard.
The whoop stats.
I'm curious what you guys whoop data looks like walking around that place the last couple days.
How are you guys holding up with whoop, which is one of our, you know, long-time partners here?
Yeah, actually, we had quite the night, the first night that we were here.
We got it.
Trent, was that before we got, yeah, that was before we went to the golf course.
So we got in, we did the podcast, we got to our house, we're in Kiowa.
And after the podcast was done, like we had maybe, first of all, Kiowa Island, beautiful.
I think there's a lot of money here from what I'm hearing.
but like the restaurants are impossible.
They close at 9 o'clock.
So like when we finished our podcast the other day,
I mean, we finished at like 9.40 at night and like everything was closed.
Trent and I had to drive like an hour away.
It was a nightmare to try and find food.
There's a Taco Bell on Kew Island that closes at 9 p.m.
Couldn't believe this.
Which is, which seems illegal in America.
And the reason I'm bringing this up is because like we really, really made that night later than it had to be.
And we were getting up at like 5.30, 6 o'clock the next day to try and get to
this golf course early and we were getting to sleep at like one when meanwhile like we got here at five
in the afternoon we just couldn't believe we were getting asleep that late and our whoops we were like
genuinely curious about what our whoops were going to be the next day like like is it going to be a
three percent or is it going to be fucking 90 percent like I don't know that a lack of sleep necessarily
correlates to a low recovery rate I think that there's been data amongst all of us that have
shown that really lack of sleep doesn't really mean that you're going to wake up with a bad score so I
actually only had four hours of sleep and I woke up with like a 75% so I've been feeling pretty
good out here I don't think I dip below like a 75 or 80% recovery you know walking out here
strain hasn't been too bad because we've really been on the range most of the time yeah the what the
whoop does is it in terms of sleep and recovery if you get four to five good hours of sleep as
opposed to say eight like not so not it's not so great like you'll have a better recovery
with the good four to five hours.
I'm actually, you know, sun allergy aside,
I'm an 82% today.
So 10-5 strain.
I'm a 10-5 strain.
We did some walking around.
We walked the course a little bit today.
But yeah, it's been tracking everything.
It really, it's,
I would tell you this.
Kudos to the people that are buying tickets to this thing.
And I'm glad that they are,
PGA championship.
We love Seth Wa.
We hugged Seth Waugh on the golf course, by the way.
Saw him, saw him walking.
He had blue sunglasses on like a, like a superhero.
What a fucking.
blue star he is and I know you're and looks and appears like a star you're thinking it's like oh maybe a dark blue like they could look black in in a different light they were blue blue and it was incredible he looked like ringos star like like little circle like great blue circles uh we hugged him we we love to see him so thank you for putting on a great championship sethwa but I do want to say that the people that have come here you are in for maybe one of the worst walks at a turn
tournament you could possibly have. It is sandy. It is long. I mean, to get to the first
hole is like a 15 minute walk from the driving range. Then you're all the way out there. There's no,
each hole is built like, there's no hole coming next to it. You got to go from three to four to five to six to
seven to eight to nine. You can't walk across fairways because it's just marshy. It's just there's
alligators. So you are going to have a very high strain here at the Kiowa PGA championship. That is what I
I'm going to tell you about whoop.
The sun is just moving.
So now it is just, I was in the shade when we started,
and now I'm just sitting in the Arizona sun,
so I'm trying to move.
My recovery is 94% today, fellas.
And that correlates because I'm feeling fresh.
I'm feeling good.
We've got a lot of work to do.
There's a lot going on, which we're going to get into.

Woop's awesome.
Does the sun move or does the earth move around the sun, right?
Like, what was that about?
You're right, but I mean the sun is moving, right?
Okay. Okay. In theory, Frankie, I'm sitting and attached to the earth and the earth moved a little bit this way, right?
So the sun is hitting me from a different angle, but like...
Which I think is wildly crazier.
But, Frankie, we say the sun is setting. We don't say the earth is like rising.
We should, though.
dude, we fucking should. I think it's crazy. I think it's crazy to think. That's crazy. The Earth is rising. Dude, what do you?
Bro, that's fucking awesome. Earth is rising up against the other stars and planets.
Yes, listen to how cool that is. Like, we are all sitting on a fucking spaceship and we're fucking rising.
Our planet is legitimately moving as we sit here talking on a podcast. That's so much more
impressive than the things in the sky moving around. Fucking clouds move all the time.
I don't give a fuck about that.
Have you heard the song Rock by our guy Hardy,
where he literally, the theme is like,
we're just all, like, sitting on a rock.
And it is, it is an absolute banger.
And he literally just fucking called me
because they're going to Pinehurst.
So I would love to talk to him about that, actually.
But I, I'm going to call him because I think he would dig that.
But, yeah, I, um, look, I wanted to say.
Oh, we're going to call him.
Oh, we're just calling Hardy right now.
What are up, bro?
Hardy, what's up, bro?
What's going on, man?
Podcast knocked out.
We're doing it right now.
Right now, Frankie and Trent,
you probably can't hear him because they're on my headphones,
but I'm going to take these out right now,
and I'm going to get the computer audio going.
But I wanted to say that we're talking right now
about the sun and the earth
and how we're just, like, sitting on this rock that's a spaceship.
But I was like, have you heard our guy Hardy's song, like, rock and how good it is?
I am.
Yeah, man.
That's all.
Hardy, is that something you often think about that like we are on a planet?
I feel like we don't take a step back and understand that we are on a floating rock amongst billions of other floating rocks.
I think about it every single day in my life.
So much so that you made a fucking banging song about it.
Dude, I literally was driving down the road.
That's how I thought of that idea is I was driving down the road and it was like this.
concrete road and I just was like it was like a stoner thought but I literally was thinking of myself
like at one point everything we have all this shit now like cell phones and fucking buildings and all this
shit and at one point all this earth was was like grass and trees and rocks that you could turn
into metal and then I was thinking of just like everything is like this entire earth is literally a
fucking rock and the roads you're made out of and like everything and that's like I don't know why I thought
to write that down to write a song about it but I just thought it was like a weird crazy thought
and but y'all are right man it's it's it's crazy to think about it I love it man we were just talking
about it I was listening to it on the way to the course today and I and I put it right back on
because I was like you know what dude Hardy's right like we're just on a fucking rock
like that's it there's nothing more fancy about it we're just on a rock
floating through the space.
Yes, dude.
It literally is like the, that's like the realization you have when you do mushrooms,
you know?
Right.
That's right.
Whatever mushrooms does to your brain, I think I was born with, right?
Like, I just feel like that.
I think you would take mushrooms and you would feel differently.
I think it's different than that.
Yeah, I think you go real deep into that.
Well, look, I know you guys are on your way to Piner, so have fun.
I'll call you later and I want to, you know, sync up.
hear about tobacco road and your trip and everything.
Oh, absolutely, man.
I'll hollered you tomorrow afternoon and let you know how it went.
All right, brother. Play well. Good luck.
Good luck.
All right. Y'all be good. You too.
Dude, his song,
his song rock is just,
I think it's called just rock.
It is an absolute
bangers. So I knew he'd be jacked up
about it. Riggs, let's
talk about what you got going on because we're out
at the PJ Championship. And
what you're doing is reaching
out to the PJ Championship because every
player we talked to has been like what you guys are doing what rigs is doing out in Arizona is
truly incredible. So I know we talked about a lot in the last podcast, but give us an update on what's
going on. How are things going with the LTP Classic? Yeah, I mean, boys, it's turning, it's turning real,
right? Like behind me is the practice green. We got it roped off right now. So it's like super
where did you guys get ropes? Dude, we were talking with the crew, you know, yesterday getting set up.
I was like, can you rope stuff off?
And they were like, we have some rope, but I don't know if we have the stakes.
So I think we made a Home Depot trip or they just had it here.
This guy, Drew, who, by the way, Drew is, and I'm going to send you guys a picture.
This guy, Drew is awesome.
He's the tournament director, tournament coordinator for whirlwind golf.
He's supposed to be off Thursday, Friday this week.
And instead he's up at 5 a.m. out there, like, you know, selecting pins and all kinds of stuff.
He actually found out about the tournament, like, from his friends being like,
that's awesome.
You're hosting a whirlwind.
He's like, I'm off Thursday Friday.
What the fuck are you guys talking about?
And he's the man.
But what I want to say is he is Phoenix, Arizona, Dave Galinsky.
Like, he literally looks like him and has the exact same job.
Like, they're, he's just West Coast, like, desert Dave Galinsky, who Dave Galinsky is the guy, you know,
I called him the assistant to the assistant pro from Pyners.
He's boys with all of us.
He just got promoted recently to Head Pro, of course,
is 1 through 5 in the cradle of Piner.
So he's awesome.
He's our buddy, and he loves to chirp and get chirped.
And I'm telling you, I'm going to show you guys this,
and you're going to see Drew because he's going to be in videos and stuff.
He is just Phoenix Dave.
It's fucking amazing.
But anyways, Drew was like, yeah, I got like, we got rope and we got that.
So Home Depot runs, and we get all that shit.
set up. But it turning very real. You know, we were just talking about whoop and I wanted to list
the sponsors that came in. So a lot of folks were asking, you know, what was the price tag for the
LTP Classic to cover the expenses of all the girls and all the coaches and all the staff and
everything else? You know, it was around 100 grand total, I would say, actually a little over. And
Cisco, Woop, G4, Taylor, Bushnell, and Trifecta Nutrition are the, you know, advertisers, the partners that
came on. There's a lot of stuff in terms of NCAA compliance and whatnot where, you know,
like sponsorships can't be tied to, you know, players or likeness and all of that stuff.
So like it's not even like they're going to be able to get plastered all over the place
in terms of exposure. You've got to be really careful about it. They just kind of wanted to help
and be a part of it. So, you know, they're navigating those waters as well and being like as
strategic about it and careful about it as they can. But a big thanks to Cisco G4, Taylor-made,
Bushnell, trifecta nutrition, and to everyone who bought merchandise because 100% of those net
proceeds are going to the cover the expenses as well. So it's great, man. These girls, dude,
are fucking so good at golf. Like, we have this, you know, this putting green roped off and the
Mississippi State team. It's very funny, too, to see, you know, like a powerhouse SEC program.
Like, they arrived on a private jet as we talked to Charlie about. They went to TPC
Scottsdale yesterday and, like, practiced. They've got their own video guy who has, like, the girls
miced up underneath their stuff and like a production team. And they're just like an SEC team has
arrived at the LTP classic. And it's like it's fucking awesome. But they're, you know, they're playing
like the girls are super competitive, which we got from Charlie. We could tell when he talked about it
on the WebEx call the other day. But he, um, he and his girls are out there competing and they
are just burying putts. And I was saying like whenever I'm on a putting practice green with everybody,
like nobody ever makes a putt. The whole time nobody makes a putt. You even know what you're hitting it at.
You watch your buddy hits it like seven feet by on a 10 foot putt.
It's like we're all kind of laughing and we're hung over.
Every put that they hit goes in.
And it's like they're playing like knockout basically of like 12 foot putts.
And it's like if one of them gets knocked out, it's shocking.
Like they just make them all the time.
So they're incredibly good.
They're all in the course right now.
They're fired up, right?
They're taking like team pictures and all the, you know, around all the signage and a huge credit to like Lisa Litvak and our events people and our and like Allison and Alice.
with merch and everybody who got everything coordinated and like the signing how did signage get made like
the tournament didn't even exist yesterday and we have signage here with all the teams we came up the
idea of like the tall banners to list all the names of all the players out of the teams which are
really cool they're all taking pictures in front of that stuff the course is pure so like they're all
jacked up about the weather being perfect there's no rain it's fucking 95 degrees and sunny here but it's good
they're they're you know they're all appreciative so i've had to rock sunglasses in case i start
up nobody can really tell a few different times so and then the other thing is that you know i'm kind
of trying to be quiet because they're here but everybody out there listening now knows this and you guys
know this in this moment but this video that we had made where we reached out to a bunch of our
friends you know different notable names around the world uh that we've been orchestrating and
putting together like there's whispers from them that there's some kind of surprise but i i don't think
that they're prepared for this video and kind of the names that we got in this video uh it's going to be it's
going to be really cool tonight. And everyone's going to know the result already. But,
but yeah, I think this video is going to be badass. That video is going to be incredible. First
of us, I'm sorry, I think you may have heard me giggling in the background because some random,
like, phone just started ringing in this house that we're renting. And I mean,
whoever called that, that just got the most, like, weird answer out of our fucking producer,
Jake, our guy who's sitting back there. And he didn't want to make any noise. So he answered the
phone and went, hello?
Like, you whispered hello into the fucking phone.
Why did he answer that phone?
Imagine?
Why would you answer that phone?
Imagine, like, someone owns this house.
Like, imagine that's like someone's like sister or something, like trying to call like Annie.
And it's just, hello.
Hello.
Like, holy fuck.
What is happening?
What is happening in the house?
That's one of the creepiest things I've ever heard, actually.
Dude, he just goes, hello?
I was like, oh shit.
Dude, I'm jacked up for these girls.
A lot of buzz here at a piece.
Like they're, dude, they're like grinding on the putting green right now.
Like this is a-
As they should be, dude.
We talk, so SVP we're-
They got like sticks out and shit.
They're like grinding on the putting green right now.
Dude, SVP was saying like, that's like what they should be doing.
Take this thing very seriously.
They want to win this thing.
Isn't that awesome that they should like that they're taking this thing?
That seriously that they want to win?
Yes.
And the other thing.
So I'm talking with, um,
we got a guy Lance Ringler out here who's from Golf Week and he covers like
college women's golf.
He's put on a bunch of tournaments.
So we paid his expense.
is to come out here and basically consult with us to make sure, like, we do everything right.
And he was talking, and he's like, you know, he's kind of giving me the DL about, first of all,
the Hovlin girl is not related to Victor Hovlin.
Everybody can stop kind of asking about that.
But he was telling me, he's like, this, you know, this girl from South Dakota State is really good.
And he's like, so, you know, like, she's kind of my, you know, not favorite, but he's just kind
of going through giving me information.
And he was also telling me, he's like, yeah, in terms of like points and all those things,
for like all-American honors and all that.
He's like, no, I'm counting this.
Like when I do my rankings for these girls and like my all-American, you know,
selections and all these, like, I'm counting the results from this tournament.
So he's like, this means a lot.
And he's like, and these girls, some of these ladies, like if they had been able
to make it either both as teams or as individuals to, you know,
NCAA championships at Greyhawk, like, they could have made a serious run at winning a national
championship for like individual and for teams so he's like this is no joke like they're out here to
fucking win so so there's like a lot at stake um you know i was talking with a few of them and i just
told them i was like you know um you guys know there's going to like be some people here tomorrow and
they were like really and i was like no like there there will be people here watching you guys
and they were like you know we've only played in front of like our parents and i was like no no like
there will be people here watching so that got them like they're all giddy they're like really
jacked up, tap at each other, like, oh my God, we're going to have, like, people on the tea.
So I think 7.30 a.m. again, is too early for our crowd.
But I think by the time we get to the afternoon tea times, like between 1230 and 3.30,
you know, they're going to tee off on a Thursday here in, you know, in Chandler, Arizona.
I think there's going to be some people on the tea.
I think it's going to be fun.
I think it's going to be unlike anything they ever played, you know, for.
And it's cool to be around such a serious event because these are legit some of the best girls
in the country who are going to like go on and play professional golf play in the LPGA tour
and they're taking our tournament very seriously like you know they're like they're thankful that
we did it but I'm like I'm flattered that you guys showed up right like we could have put on a tournament
and then been like why were we go play in a barst like doesn't mean anything but like right no
they said in their brains all of them like yeah we need to go play in that and now all of a sudden
it means something like someone's going to walk away here Friday night and they're going to be like
the LTP classic champions.
And they're going to, like, wear that forever.
They're going to take that back to their school.
They're going to put it in their trophy case.
Like, that's going to be a win that they had as part of their college career.
So it's starting to get very, very real.
You know, it's starting to get emotion.
I imagine, you know, tonight when we have our opening ceremony,
I'm going to give a couple quick remarks and we're all going to get together.
You know, it's been cool.
Like, man, I think it was the ETSU team that they've got, like,
two of the girls on their team.
our fifth year seniors.
So like, they COVID year, last year.
So this was two years in a row that they just like,
their years and seasons ended without being able to hit a golf shot.
And when we were chatting earlier,
they like went out of their way to be like,
hey, we're like second year, basically seniors.
And like, we can't express to you how much this means that we get to play.
So it's, who, it's going to be something.
It's really cool that they get to play in front of people.
We're going to, you know, we got a bunch of social media people out here.
We got cameras here.
We're going to document it all.
edit it, put it out next week or in the next few weeks,
and we're going to cover it all in real time on social.
So it's very real, boys.
It's happening.
The teams have, like, flown across the country.
They're in hotels.
They're, like, ready to rock.
And college golf bags, again, to say this, are just the coolest thing in the world, I think.
Hell, yeah.
What's the best one so far?
I saw some white ones that bad ass.
The Mississippi State stuff, all is sick.
I mean, they just, like, again, they're just a powerhouse.
That's like, they're just a huge program.
in everything
SEC
and they come in
like now
you know I don't know
if you can say this
but they're like
a big swinging dick
when it comes to just reputation
it's like that's like
Mississippi State
coming in with that SEC money
which which I like
and so Brandon Walker has a job
like because of it like that school
you know what I mean like that's like
that's Brandon Walker's entire like
his entire like
he was famous at Mississippi State
as like being the guy
he would ring the fucking cowbells and shit
and like that guy
has a huge following because he just likes a football team and likes to talk about them.
And he loves that school.
That school is so big that one of their huge fans became like famous off of it.
You know what I mean?
Like that's crazy.
Dude, and like other guys that are just had booked tea times that are just playing the course or driving by like hail state and like
it's like it's a college environment.
You know, it's like when you go to a college game or a college tournament.
That's the environment.
You know, like there's nothing like school.
Like there's no pride like school pride.
You wear it forever and they're in the heat of it.
Like these are the moments and the memories that when they look back and, you know,
like, and they might have a job interview in 10 years where it's like,
oh, you played in that LTP classic?
Like, wow, I'll never forget that.
Like, how did you guys do?
And then they like talk about their performance and everything that happened with the NCAA
and how public it was.
And like those are the memories that you recall forever.
And they're here and it's about to start.
So it's incredibly cool.
the college aspect of it is something that's just so different than anything we've ever put on or dealt with.
And it's like it's kind of a throwback.
It's like a throwback to when you're in school.
It's a throwback to the college events that you've been to seeing the mascot, seeing the school pride.
It's fucking awesome.
Yeah, man, like I said before, it's making serious waves all the way on the other side of the country.
SVP knew about it.
JT knew about it.
Speeth and Greller, they knew about it.
So it's like I think everybody's just now excited to see how it goes.
I think you guys are very clearly going to pull it off.
and it's just going to be a goddamn scene out there.
It is.
It really is.
I think there's going to be some fans, man.
I'm pretty getting a lot of messages.
So, yeah, I think, you know, I think that the event from this point, it's like, it's just happening, right?
Like all the work, all of the stress, if you want to call it, all the hecticness of, like, trying to get this box check, that box check.
Now they're here.
They've seen the golf course.
They're doing practice rounds.
and tomorrow they're going to hit shots that matter.
And people can follow along on golf staff.
There's a link that we're going to put out.
So the live scoring will be out there.
We'll be doing live streaming.
We'll be putting all kinds of social clips out there
and broadcasting it, showcasing it, highlighting kind of these girls
and they're, you know, how good they are at the game of golf.
Like, I mean, the one I shared on my Instagram story,
if one of just going driver off the deck, like, no problem and just roasting it was like,
crazy.
I mean, all right, we're here to play golf.
This is just real golf.
So, yeah, it's pretty, it's sick.
It's really cool.
And I don't think this will be the last time we do something like this.
Yeah, I think it is the start of something awesome.
The amount, like I said, and like Trent said, the buzz out here is crazy.
Every fan, you know, immediately knew like, oh, yeah, Riggs is out there doing the tournament.
Like, congratulating us.
I'm just like, no, I mean, like that team out there, what you guys did is phenomenal.
Yeah, so hats off to everyone.
Going to be awesome to see the results.
Can't wait to see the videos.
Can't wait to see who actually wins this thing.
you've got just a lot
it's just a lot of eyeballs on these girls
that you know
it's a blessing in disguise we said that the other day
like they're they're playing like
the biggest tournament that they've ever played in
even though it may not mean
even though it may not like mean anything towards their
what their original goal was this is now like
the most popular biggest tournament that they're playing in
which is very funny that it's a barstable thing
yes and that's showcased you know tonight
or it's already been showcased for people by
you know these very
videos and you guys were fucking huge getting a couple of those videos like spp Justin
Thomas like are you kidding me the gravity of those videos and and sort of showcasing to to these
girls like hey it's not just like a media thing like people care i mean there are people out
there that literally are are going to be following your live leaderboard and your swings and they
can't wait to see who wins and the results and they're so pumped that you get to play so it means a lot
to them that's kind of the whole point that's why everybody's working hard that's why
Lisa Litvak, you know, basically took her week off from being on the road all year long and flew
immediately to Arizona and then he's flying immediately back to New York on Friday night on a
red eye to go to a cousin's wedding. It's like, we want to give them something that matters to them
and we're going to and they're taking it seriously. So it's cool. I want to show you guys this again.
This is from Tulsa, just this driver off the deck.
I mean, just a missile. So yeah, they can play, fellas.
But yeah, people follow along.
That video is going to be on social of like everyone like wishing them well and stuff.
Like it's, okay.
Yeah, so we're going to play it.
And again, it's funny like we're now talking in the past, but for everybody that's listening.
But we're going to play it, you know, here and about, it's about 4 o'clock here.
We got a welcome reception starting at 5.30.
It's going to go till about 6.30 or so.
And during that welcome reception, you know, I'm going to, I'm going to say just a few quick words and play that video for them.
And then after we play it, keep it a surprise.
you know, we're going to, uh, we're going to put that all over social.
And I think it's, it's going to be, uh, pretty powerful as it should be big.
Dude, what, what, what, like, the way that that happened, like, for our, on our end, like,
we're kind of talking to people.
And J.T. just, like, was so John, Justin Thomas now, no disrespected John Tiller.
Love that guy. But this is Justin Thomas, we're talking about.
Just immediately, like, oh, it's up, guys. Like, how's it going?
Like, like, what you guys are doing is amazing out there.
Like, tell me more about it. He really wanted to know, like, the act.
And we have the video out there.
there. He wanted to know like the intricacies of like how it's working, like how the NCAA was
involved now, like all the stuff, the sponsors, everything, whoop he was interested in because
he knows that he's a huge whoop guy. So, um, just the coolest guy in the world. And then I was like,
yeah, actually, we're putting together this video. Um, if like, you know, just wishing the girls
well, whatever. If you could do anything. I'm like, we'll grab you later. He goes, you have,
like, give me your phone right now. Like, this is no problem at all. Now, this guy's preparing to
play in a major. That, like, you know, he'll grab you later. That, he'll grab you have, like, give me your phone right now. He goes, he goes, he's
like he's like legitimately like a favorite in right he's like the second favorite behind rory mackroy
in this fucking major championship and he couldn't have been better one take wonder what i mean
you've already seen the everyone's probably seen the SVP one what svp said i legitimately almost
started crying like he is a man made for for the camera made for tv he speaks for a living which he
said to us and it's just god man like i can't imagine the other videos you guys guys guys
because the two that we saw in front of us,
we were like, man, this shit's giving us the chills.
So that was really, really cool.
And it's just cool to know that it's meaning a lot to guys that really, like,
don't have to care about it or at all, like, right?
Like, they're just fucking famous guys that get to just walk around and do whatever they want.
And they really took the time to understand what it was and we're super interested about it.
Yes.
And, like, dude, when you guys, I'm walking away so they don't hear it because I don't want to ruin the surprise.
Yeah.
Everybody else has, like, seen it at this point.
but you guys haven't seen the video yet.
I've seen pretty much the final copy.
Like we just got a few videos in last seconds
so I put myself on mute earlier.
But like Brendan, eBug, our guy,
you know, spliced all of this up into like such a good video
that when you see this, like there will be, I think,
some tears, there'll be a lot of laughs.
I think people will just be fired up at the end of it
because like the way that he structured it just got you,
like it hit you in a lot of different fields
from a lot of different people
that are clearly paying attention.
So, yeah, great work getting those.
And, yeah, I'm excited for the tournament.
People can follow along all week.
Thursday, Friday.
We got 18 holes, or 36 holes Thursday, 18 holes Friday,
and we're going to crown a champion.
A lot of golf.
It's going to be awesome.
It's a lot of golf in two days.
It's going to be like 100 degrees.
What a grind for these girls, but that's like, that's what they wanted, man.
This is it.
It's real.
It's real.
So, yeah, good work at Keowa.
I'm pumped to watch.
And yeah, I mean, now it's just we keep rolling.
We got to cover a major.
We got to cover the LTP and life goes on, boys.
Yep.
Tonight we will be, obviously, tonight when you're listening to this,
the LTP Classic will have already basically had 36 holes played.
And then if you are around in the Charlotte area, I don't know that I don't know.
This is not Charleston.
Charleston.
I don't know why I'm still pumping this because I think there's going to,
every person in Charleston is coming to this thing.
We will be watching a New York Islanders game tonight.
We will be watching Kewa.
we will be watching the PGA Championship.
We're actually going to go to the PGA championship during the morning.
So if you see us out there, we're probably going to station ourselves around 17
because I want to see the carnage station.
I know that just triggered you.
It did.
Like I felt like my brain like I was like, what the fuck happened?
So we're going to do that.
Hopefully we don't get too much sunburn tomorrow because we don't want to look like idiots.
But that's just the way it goes.
Good luck to you, Riggs, because, you know, this is going to be a huge one tomorrow.
Good luck tonight with the speeches and everything.
And, I mean, that's going to be awesome.
I got to practice names tonight because,
there's some names in the field there that I, yeah, so I got to practice names tonight at the
apartment. That's the big plan. Good luck, boys, travel safe. Good luck at the, good luck to your
Islanders. Let's go Blues. And that's all I got. Hit it hard. Hit it hard. Hit it hard.
