Fore Play - "Five Days In Heaven," a full Cabot Cliffs review
Episode Date: July 10, 2018It's travel time. We spent five days at Cabot Links on the cliffs of Nova Scotia playing the Cabot Cliffs and Cabot Links courses... and it was the most spectacular experience of our lives. From the C...anadian customer service to a lobster broil on the beach to a belief that Cabot Cliffs is the single best golf course on earth, we have an all-time story to tell. A villa on the ocean; six rounds with caddies that can only be described as "Canadian beauties"; seeing every star in the universe at night; ordering lobster rolls for breakfast. Come take this journey with us -- you don't want to miss it!You can find every episode of this show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube. Prime Members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. Hello, friends, it's Rigsie.
This is going to be a very, very special podcast, a very unique podcast.
This is a full reliving, a full debriefing of Cabot Links, two golf courses,
Cabot Links, Cabot Cliffs, the villas right on the cliffs up in Nova Scotia, Canada.
the crew for this is myself, my roommate Lurch, Ben, who you guys have heard a lot about on this podcast,
office manager Brent, who obviously works with us, and Higgs, who is our new producer,
three or four weeks in now, four of us went up there, we were there for basically five days,
we walk you through the entire experience, you're going to hear all why.
I believe Cabot Cliffs is very likely the single greatest golf course on planet Earth,
and definitely the single greatest golf course I've ever played.
There's a lot that we get to.
We speak for a good hour and 10 minutes about everything, about the whole trips,
about the whole trip.
There's a lot of laughs.
There's a lot of stories.
There's a lot of us just remembering things as we were talking about it.
We recorded a little bit about the course when we were actually on the golf course
and had just finished on these couches.
We recorded most of the podcast, the rest of the podcast, on the van,
on the way home so it was very fresh you guys are going to love it um reliving it was awesome also another
note about the podcast uh we will be adding a second show every single week that's right two shows a
week you're going to get a show every tuesday you're going to get a show every thursday um it's going to be a mix
bottom line is we just have too much the last couple shows you've noticed have been like two hours long
um we just have too much there's too much going on there's too much that i want to do we will be
a second show. It's going to be two shows a week every Tuesday, every Thursday. Sometimes it's going
to be the four plate digs, the historical dives, it's going to be more interviews. It's going to be
more in-depth talk about everything from the players that we like, some fantasy golf, some picks,
right, some gambling picks, whatever. It's going to be more. It's going to be a whole second show,
a whole extra show. It's going to start this week. We're going to have two shows a week at least.
least through the Rider Cup.
Maybe once we get into the dog days of winter for us golfers, we can dial it back to one.
But at least through the Rider Cup this year, we will be doing two shows a week.
That starts this week.
So keep your ears peeled for Thursday.
We'll have a new show.
We've got to talk about Phil and Tiger playing for $10 million.
We've got to talk about Phil getting another penalty.
Kevin Nas crying after he wins.
He's so emotional.
We had an LPGA player, a lady golfer, whiff.
She just whiffed.
We got to talk about all that stuff and much more.
So we're adding a whole other show.
It's going to be Tuesday.
It's going to be Thursday.
Golf, golf, golf, golf.
It's going to be fantastic.
Now, people are going to understand.
You're probably thinking Cabot Links.
Where the hell is it?
We get to a lot of that.
But, you know, a lot of people try to ask, like, should I go there?
Should I go somewhere else?
What should I try to do?
A lot of it, in my opinion, is travel preference.
You got to realize that if you're on the East Coast,
Cabot is significantly easier to get to,
than abandon or something that's in California on the West Coast.
Obviously, if you're on the West Coast, it's going to be much more difficult for you to get to Cabot.
So you've got to factor those in.
We talk about it, but it was about an hour, nine-minute flight from Boston to Halifax where we went.
So we get into all of that.
The other thing, everybody always wants to ask about cost.
Look, everybody's trip is going to be completely different.
You can go to Cabot Links.com.
They've got all of their rates there.
What you have to understand is that the Canadian dollar right now is, I believe, like, 0.6.
of a United States dollar.
That means the prices that are on there
are going to be about 60%
of what they cost in Americans.
So currently it's an awesome time to go
because the Canadian dollar is much weaker
than the American dollar.
So everything's even cheaper than it looks on the website.
But if you're curious about all that stuff,
which you should be,
go to cabotlinks.com,
check out their site.
You could plan your own trip yourself
or you could email me rigs at Barstall Sport.
