Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, 4Play listeners, you can find us every Tuesday and Thursday on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. I used to get down on myself so quickly and it's like, why are you even doing this? And those kind of sayings, it's like, what are you doing? That's not going to better yourself. That's not going to put yourself in the right mindset to execute. But now it's like, I've gone through so much. It's like you deserve to be here.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Just do it. Like you, you know you are good enough and you have proved that you're good enough. Just do it. Just let your play take over and go play golf the way you know how to do it. Foreplay brought to you by Barstool Sports presented by Chevrolet boys. We got myself, Trent, Frankie, Dan Rabaport. A lot going on in terms of one Eldrick Tiger Woods. So we're going to start with that because we're,
Starting point is 00:01:02 We were doing our typical, our MO, which is we started talking about everything before the show that we should actually talk about on the show. So now we have hit record and this is the show. You're listening to the show. We have Alistair Doher Doherty on the show who obviously just got T29 finish. Very weird situation on Monday where we were talking about on the show. He was cruising. He was, I think, at four under, two under for the day, a couple inside the cut line. And then as soon as we hit fucking stop on the record, he doubled the 10th hole, was outside the cut line.
Starting point is 00:01:30 and then played the last several holes at two under and came in inside the cutline, T-29, first eight starts, the best status he's ever had. A huge part of that, which I totally forgot about, is he now has access to practice at all TPC courses, which. Hey, I didn't think about that. Alistair last couple weeks, getting ready for final stage would text me every day being like, hey, is it like, can we go up to Greyhawk so that I can practice up there? because he's not allowed to like practice places. And most places that have a nice range around here, you got to pay like a hundred bucks or whatever just to have access to practice throughout the day. The guy couldn't fucking practice.
Starting point is 00:02:07 He was going to indoor golf simulator facility that would let him do it for free, but he couldn't fucking practice anywhere. So now he's got eight guaranteed starts. He's got places to practice. He's got a membership on the Corn Ferry Tour for the 2020 season, which is fucking awesome. He flew back late last night from Georgia to Arizona. He's going to join in the second half of the show.
Starting point is 00:02:27 show. Tiger Woods, who's a bigger name than Alster. Sorry, Al. A lot going on with him. I basically have three different things that I would like to talk about, which is the hero, the PIP, and cadding for Charlie. But Dan Rappaport, who you kind of were a tiger beat writer for golf dice. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I was. That's what I did for the last three years before this is like we had a deal with Tiger. I was going to handling all the Tiger news. So I don't have that like special inside access, but I still have kind of tentacles in Tiger World, put it that way. So I was able to tweet that he was going to play, and then he confirmed that today's playing in the hero, which is, I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:04 super exciting, right? We're seeing him in the hero. We're seeing him, and that's like a full 72 whole tournament where he's going to be playing his own ball and signing a scorecard. We're seeing him play the next week in the match with Rory, JT, and Speed. And I think there's a good chance he plays PNC. So we go from not seeing Tiger Woods for like six months, right, after St. Andrews and he looked terrible and, you know, they didn't know if it was his last open to now.
Starting point is 00:03:25 he could quite possibly be playing three golf events, only one official, but three events in the month of December. Which is, that's, that's pretty shocking. And I think helps my case. I know a couple of them are going to be with a golf cart, big difference, but helps my case of over on five events next year in 2020, which are with our big election that we did on the last show. He's playing three fucking times in December, three times in December. That's, that's awesome. You got to hope he doesn't blow his load that he's playing three times in December. And then he's, he's like, all right, now I can only.
Starting point is 00:03:55 play four or five times in the upcoming season. That's a guy that knows how to manage his load. It's very exciting. I don't say so. Yeah, I think probably. I think it's progress for sure. I mean, like, I, to the fact that he's signing up to play three times means that he believes his leg can hold up through three events, which I think is huge news.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And like, the hero, again, I know it's an exhibition, but it's still a 72 whole golf tournament that Tiger Woods is going to play. Like, we thought that might never happen again. carded at that? Yeah, I sent some texts around. I don't, there's no rules really. I don't think because it's, because it's, you know, not an official. How do those texts go? Is it like, do you like, do you have to Tiger emoji, a greeting at the beginning? Question mark. Yeah. So I have like kind of, hello, dad, I have five or six go-toes. And at this point, we're past pleasantries. Like, and if, and if it's something that they don't want to give me, they'll just be like, fuck off, basically. Not
Starting point is 00:04:53 fuck off, but they'll be like, I respect the ask, but you know I can't give you this information. So you just text them with the question. I don't think like it's going to be. A decent amount? Like, do you just bullshit text so that when you have a real text, it's like lost in the in the bullshit of like, oh yeah, we just shoot the shit about all kinds and stuff? 100%. Because if all you do is ask them for things, then when they see your name, they're going
Starting point is 00:05:13 going to be like, this guy's asking me for more things. So you definitely have better better than I. I don't think he's taking a cart because it's, there's world ranking points, which is something that the live people really like to. to point out the hypocrisy of that. But it's not an official event, but there are world ranking points for this tournament, even though there's only 20 players. And Tiger can basically, you know, pick a portion of who's going to play.
Starting point is 00:05:32 But I don't think he's playing in the card. It's a super flat golf course. It's like right next to the water in the Bahamas, very, very flat, not a tough walk. But, yeah, Tiger's like still around. It's kind of amazing, very much so. And then in the other two, definitely. Yeah, I think I'm going to go to Hero. It's a great week.
Starting point is 00:05:50 probably my favorite week of the year. Last year I actually stayed with fits inside the gates of Albany like in this multi-million dollar condo. He now has a woman in his life so that won't be happening again. So I'm happy for him having a woman in his life. I'm personally upset because that was like the greatest week
Starting point is 00:06:07 of all time. But yeah, I'm going to go to the hero. Yeah, exactly. The boys get loose on the island. It's the best players in the world. They're chilling. If you made it to hero, it's 100 grand for last place.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Like you're happy to be there. Your boys with Tiger. It's just a celebration. Everyone brings their family. So it's probably the, best week of the year from an access perspective. You can go and spend 50 grand if you're one of these guys on an outrageous vacation week with the house that you rent and your travels over there and you're still guaranteed to make
Starting point is 00:06:32 50 grand. That's pretty good. Yeah. And your boy Kevin Kisner is going to be one of those guys. Blown away when I saw that. He tagged, Tiger tagged kids. Who is Kiz? What is Kiz doing behind the scenes this year?
Starting point is 00:06:45 He gets the president's cup pick, doesn't win a fucking point. And then he gets picked by Tiger. to go to the Hero World Challenge, which I mean, I love Kiz to death, but what, he's been, he must be juke and jiving behind the scenes this year. Yeah, he's, he's powerpoint. I don't know. I think, isn't he involved in the pack too? Like, he's, I think, you know, if he wants, if he wants to kick us back a little bit,
Starting point is 00:07:07 you know, again, we talked about this earlier. It feels like it's, it's been a symbiotic rise, a mutual, mutually beneficial Kevin Kisner and four play pod just spiraling upwards, maybe. Keep doing our show and keep fucking slinging our ain't no hobby merch. and do a couple of scramble videos, kids, and we got ourselves a good agreement, I think. I agree. I couldn't agree more.
Starting point is 00:07:27 The kids videos on YouTube are crazy how many numbers that they have. They're like crazy. The scramble is like two and a half million. And then the video of us just playing Palmetto, when Frankie hit it in the water that no one's ever hit it into ever in history, that video, which like at the time that we put the scramble out and had like 100,000, just row, it's like it latched on to the scramble and just rode. And it has like 2.2.
Starting point is 00:07:50 million views or something on YouTube. It's fucking crazy. It shows how interesting and funny he is. Because if, you know, before people knew that he was interesting and funny, like, if you put up a Kevin Kisner video on YouTube, probably not going to do that well. But like if you put like a Max homeless scramble, that's going to do well, almost no matter what, because people like him so much. But Kevin Kisner is just like, who's this guy? And then he, people find out what he's about and what he's like. And he's just so interesting and funny to watch on a golf course that videos with him get millions and millions of views. Before you guys kind of like shine a light on Kisner,
Starting point is 00:08:26 I thought he was of the kind of Hudson Swofford, Harris English, like Russell Henley mold where he was just like a quiet Southern dude, you know, playing on the PGA tour, making his 1.7 million a year and not really talking much outside of that, but it couldn't be further from the truth. He's full of personality, and I don't just think people are starting to understand that. It's wild to think back to when I was watching the 2015 players championship
Starting point is 00:08:48 and Kiz had the putt on the 72nd hole to win, and he barely burned the high side. And how hard I was rooting for that to miss because that meant there was a playoff with Ricky, Sergio, and Kisner. And then that whole playoff just being like, come on, Ricky. And I like Ricky. I have no negatives. Ricky gets a lot of Ricky Shea shots.
Starting point is 00:09:07 But now, when you look at the personality of Ricky Fowler, he's pretty fucking boring outside of how well he's been branded. You're right. And you look at Kevin Kisner and Kiz is the guy. He's incredible. It's like I was rooting because I just didn't know any better so hard against Kiz. And had he won that player's championship, think about how big that would have been for him, especially at that time.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Huge. It makes you wonder what other guys are just like beauties that we don't know about. I was thinking that same thing. I think we got really lucky. Maybe we didn't, but I think we might have because I would love to think, and the PJ tour would love to think that there's just all these diamonds in the rough where if you show a spotlight on them, they're going to shine and they're going to have this hilarious personality, all this back and forth, busting balls the whole thing. I don't think anyone is to that
Starting point is 00:09:54 level with Kisner. Now again, I could be wrong. I have no idea. But it would appear that we got very lucky with Kevin because he has an insanely funny personality. And like, I don't know, I don't want to throw any names out, but I don't know who out there would be like, oh, I think that guy's boring. And then you play a scramble against them. And it's like, oh my gosh, this guy is one of the funniest guys on tour. I don't think they'll ever be to Kisner's level. But, Webb Simpson for sure surprised me. We used to call him Vanilla Pudding. And then we talked to him with the president's cup.
Starting point is 00:10:23 And he was like the coolest, nicest guy of all time. So I think that a lot of guys would surprise us, but no one would like blow our, blow the doors off like Kevin Kisner does. I think Colin Mori Cow has got a chance. We already know that he's like elected. Yeah, but I think the general public doesn't know like just how like chirpy.
Starting point is 00:10:42 And, you know, he comes off. I think a lot of people think that he's this like perfect golden child. with the, you know, beautiful wife and the great family and, and he wins all these majors. But, you know, when we spent time with him at Taylor & Media Day, that guy, she's turpy as anybody that I've ever hung out with. He's in a problem is, oh, go ahead. Like, Kiz is in that perfect level of not quite good enough.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Right. Right. Like, to be as well known without his personality. Like, Morikawa could be a zero when it comes to personality or whatnot. He's still going to be a star because he's Morikawa. He's got two majors already in the whole deal. Whereas, like, Kiz is just. Like people root for him because he comes off just common man enough.
Starting point is 00:11:21 He's from Aiken. He's a little bit of a southern hillbilly. He's like right there. He's won a handful of times. But he hasn't won anything like major, major. But he's close. He's close to Rider Cup teams, but not quite like people love that. That he's relatable.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Whereas Morikawa is a little too big, I think. Yeah, fair enough. That's right. I think. I don't know. No, that's right. Speaking of Webb Simpson, I have an update live from the show. Webb Simpson text me back.
Starting point is 00:11:46 we're going to have him on the show November 21st, which is Monday. We're going to interview Webb Simpson first time. Wow. Fantastic. Welcome to the show. Yep. He said, is it too late to do it on Monday, the 21st? I can't today or tomorrow and then I'm flying to Dallas Friday, playing the RSM next week.
Starting point is 00:12:03 So he's going to do it right after the RSM. So we will have that Tuesday, I guess, which would be November 22nd, which is Thanksgiving week. We'll have Webb Simpson on that week. That'll be a nice family week. Very nice. Family man Webb Simpson for Thanksgiving That's perfect
Starting point is 00:12:18 That's wholesome Come on We'll do no cursing that show Let's do no cursing that show Okay Alex you put that in your notes Alex Bush I really doubt that works out
Starting point is 00:12:29 But good luck I can't stop thinking About tigers load right now So you really want me To curse for no fucking Whole podcast I think you can go a whole podcast Without cursing
Starting point is 00:12:39 Who else is thinking about Tiger's loads Since we talked about it So I was thinking From Bolt to Blazer Equinox to Silverado. Chevy EVs are for everyone everywhere. Yes, that is true. Those models that I just mentioned, Bolt Blazer, Equinox, Silverado, they're available in electric vehicle now. So you should go check them out. I cannot recommend enough. Go to the website, Chevrolet and go play with these. Go tweak
Starting point is 00:13:07 them. Go build one. Go check the different colors and the different additions that you can put on the perks you can put on to your vehicle. You realize that they're EVs, that they're for everyone everywhere, you're going to realize that Chevy's doing it in a special way. I listened to a song last night that had Chevy in it, and I didn't even know. It was the We Fly High remix. Trent, you know what I'm talking about. I do. And he goes, he goes skating on ice like Christy Yamaguchi, sitting up in my Chevy eating blowfish sushi. Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:13:36 That's a great song. That's a really good song. Chevy and sushi, baby. Chevrolet has electric vehicles available now, by now. The Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV. reserve now the Blazer EV and the Silverado EV with an established full line brand like Chevrolet. We can offer multiple EV vehicles with the volume, the variety, and the value customers all over the world have come to expect. Chevy is our presenting sponsor.
Starting point is 00:14:01 So thank you. Go check them out. Go get yourself a Chevy EV. EVs for everyone everywhere. When somebody said he's got good load management, I thought about that for a while. I think that's right. If you look pound for pound for his experience and his load management throughout those experiences, I would say it's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Strong. From what we know. Very strong. The lack of Tiger Jr. is running around. Yeah, no, it's just strong. From what we know, yeah, I think it's been pretty good. The management's top tier. Some people have horrific load management.
Starting point is 00:14:39 The guy plots his way around the golf course. Terrible. And I think he's got pretty good management. The cannon. He picks his spots. It's been one of the strengths of his whole career. That we know of to be fair. True.
Starting point is 00:14:50 We can only comment on what we know, Trap. I'll tell you one thing that I know, and I knew even more after we were down in Florida for Taylor Made Media Day. I think the Ricky relationship has simply said. Oh, man, it's over. Yeah, it felt like he was kind of, was he ignoring us? Or what did you, what did you guess comes off that way, though, no? He does. And I never want to close the door completely, but it's done.
Starting point is 00:15:13 It's, we had a couple opportunities where we were in the same area. We were in the exact same ballroom that Rory McElroy walked up to us and talked to us for a half hour. And Ricky Fowler was in that. Boys. Ricky Fowler was in that same ballroom. And we're, you know, we're like those magnets that can't touch.
Starting point is 00:15:31 We're just in the same room, but we never get close enough because I don't want to walk up to Ricky Fowler and be like, hey, man, like, oh, it's, you know, I've been DM and you. You haven't been,
Starting point is 00:15:41 yeah, like, firing my finger pistols. Like, it's not, I don't want it to be like that. And, but I also don't want to be like that.
Starting point is 00:15:47 it to seem like, oh, you have to come up to us and talk to us. But it would be two normal human beings seeing each other and being like, hey, man, we haven't talked much, but, you know, we're a big fan of you. You know, I don't know if you know much about us, blah, blah, blah. And it just, it never materializes. I think the last, we were headed to the airport. And Frankie and I were walking out headed to our car. And Ricky was also leaving. He was already in his vehicle. And he pulled around us, but it was a small parking lot. So you can't speed around the parking lot. His window is down. We were walking with our stuff clearly like just leaving whatever. And we said, hey, Ricky, see you later. And he just said, see ya. And just left. There was just,
Starting point is 00:16:26 second year in a row. Yeah, there were a couple opportunities. Yeah, the first year or last year, I was changing in the bathroom. And I had all of my stuff in my arms. And I walked out of the bathroom and he was waiting to go in. And I was like, hey, man. He's like, hey, what's up? And we walked by each other again. And I just don't, he just has no, um, reason. to interact with us so he doesn't want to. I also think that this is unconfirmed, but it could potentially be Allison Stoke, wife related because she is an original pole vault that Dave was blogging about in like 2007, right?
Starting point is 00:17:07 Yeah. So we don't know anything at all, but there's a chance that it could be wife related. It's just not a huge fan of Barstool because of, I think, understandable reasons and that there's some connection there. No, but I'm here to say that that's not right because remember a couple months ago when Dave played in a pro am with Ricky? Yeah. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:27 In Florida, right? He played with like, um, who was that guy? Kaigo. It wasn't a, it wasn't a, uh, it was like a promotional thing for Puma, I think. Yeah. But I think. Right. What a foursome that was.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Right. There was someone else too. Yeah, it was Dave, Kygo, Ricky. Maybe like Dexter Fowler or something. Maybe. But that would be a situation where if Ricky didn't want to play in a group with a bar stool person, and in that particular instance, the guy who started the thing, he could make it not happen. He's had a lot of chances.
Starting point is 00:17:59 He's had a lot of chances to come up and speak to us specifically in that ballroom. And it just didn't happen. I mean, we were back to back just eating. I was eating like cantaloupe. And he's just like sitting there just moving around his scrambled eggs. And it was just dead silence. And he could have just been like, it's up, guys. I haven't really had a conversation with you guys
Starting point is 00:18:17 And you guys just DM me and we talk You have a big golf podcast You were at Justin Thompson's house last night Like maybe Maybe I'll just like say hi to you But I don't know Maybe he didn't have a step stool So he could look us in the eye
Starting point is 00:18:26 Wow The fourth guy was Taylor Fritz Taylor Fritz is an American tennis player I don't know I just said something to him I feel like Yeah I mean it's just you know We did
Starting point is 00:18:36 We were like what's up Ricky And you just like all right It just like kept driving It's the second year He almost hit us with his car Every time we're leaving Taylormane May Media Day Ricky Fowler has to stop his vehicle
Starting point is 00:18:46 so that me and Trent can walk by. That is a fact. We're three for three. I want to be clear as well that we had this exact same relationship with Rory two years ago. Yeah, but Rory's different, man. Rory just, he like, yeah, I guess we did. But we always left the shadow of the doubt that
Starting point is 00:19:02 Rory just like was always too dialed in in his tournament. Remember Wingfoot, Frankie, we had like the longest march directly at each other in a tight basically hallway that was created just outside the clubhouse. And it was me and Frankie and it was Rory and like Harry Diamond walking from like 150 yards out right at each other.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And we were like, here we go. And he just marched right past us without a look in the world. Me and Frankie were staring at his eyes, trying to get any kind of eye contact and nothing. And we did a whole show, I think, being like, that guy fucking hates us. I know. But like looking back, it's wing foot. It's the U.S.
Starting point is 00:19:40 open. It was COVID year. I think he was coming off probably a bad finish on 18 and he's like storming into the clubhouse. He doesn't care who's left or right. I don't know. I think we definitely look too far into the Rory Macquarie thing. Now, obviously, we talked to him for like a half an hour in the ballroom
Starting point is 00:19:55 and he knows everything about us. And he stopped us at the country club in Boston. Still, the most impressive human being I think I've ever encountered. 100%. 100%. And it's just, yeah, it's phenomenal. Like being able to have that relationship now with that guy. And I just, I don't think we'll ever.
Starting point is 00:20:10 ever had that with Ricky, nor do I even care at this point. The fourth in that foursome, by the way, was Taylor Fritz, who's an American tennis player. All right. And Dave tweeted after it, he goes, tried to explain how I created his wife's first nickname 20 years ago. I don't think he really understood still a fun day. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah. So maybe he doesn't know the history. Which is good. Yeah. I guess they kind of, they smooth things out a little bit, I think. And I guess like there's a chance that that would have just never come. come up between Allison and Ricky. Like she might have just never in there five, six years together, whatever it's been.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Been like, by the way, like Barstool used to blog like that probably just never ever ever came up. The hardest thing, the hardest thing to gauge with professional athletes is figuring out how much they know about Barstool. You don't ever know. They can either know everything or nothing or some of it or they're like, oh, I follow the Instagram account. Like, I think Roy for a long time, we thought he knew nothing. And then that conversation with him in the ballroom proved that he knows a lot. So it's it's, you never know. Ricky might know a ton, he might know nothing.
Starting point is 00:21:16 He might know. Rory's like, you guys going out of Miami and saving taxes like Dave? It's like, wow, that's just, that's from like the DP show. That's like from the Dave Portnoy podcast. You know, like, how do you know where Dave saves his tax money? Rory likes to talk about how he doesn't have, Rory likes to talk about how he doesn't have social media. He doesn't have Twitter and stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:33 And then a lot of times I'll see him and he'll be like, oh, I saw you tweeted this. And I'm like, I thought you don't have Twitter. He's like, oh, I have someone who's. sends it to me. You know what I mean? So I think he's I think he's more online than he, than we think he is. I got someone that sends it to me. It's actually an app with like a little bird on it. It just shows it shows me what's going on. Elon just bought it. It's this whole thing. You guys got to get it. It's really good. Yeah. I think he knows a lot, a lot. All right. We got Tiger Woods. So he's also apparently won the PIP, which is related to Rory. Because Rory said,
Starting point is 00:22:04 hey, I gave him a pretty good run with this. This was what? Like a Doug Ferguson, at end of the year AP, Mr. AP wire interview or something. I was trying to figure out where this came from. Yeah, it was just some story he was writing, I think just kind of about Rory's year. And Doug likes to like to just kind of drop things. He's not, you know, he's an old school journalist, right? So for him, breaking news on Twitter probably doesn't really get his dick hard. So he'll just drop it in an article and that everyone else kind of extrapolate from that.
Starting point is 00:22:33 It's kind of a sick move, honestly. I love it. I love it. I'm fascinated by Doug Ferguson. I really am. He's a target of that lawsuit with Shane Ryan. So I'm sure he's $750 million or something like that. Is that what he's,
Starting point is 00:22:45 that's what he's in for? I think it's only $2.50 for that one. The other one is $750. Patrick's trying to get to a Billy. He's being a little, he's being a little. When both of those suckers in you're looking really good. Doug Ferguson, man, he's great. So Doug is, and we brought him up a lot.
Starting point is 00:23:02 He is the AP wire journalist. He asks everyone after their round, just the five questions. that you would, if you were, if you were writing an S&L skit of like a parody journalist, he just asked those exact questions of players. But then he wears the Hawaiian shirts. He's got the little stool. Did you ever carry one of those stools around, Dan?
Starting point is 00:23:24 That like he sits on when he's inside the ropes. He carries that stool around. And then he's just, he's just chit-chatty with everyone the entire time. He's like buzzing around the media center. He's asking everybody all this. And then he occasionally, when we got into it with old man golf, he sent me an email that was out of the clouds. And he sent me an email that like a week after we had Jeff Shackleford on. And he didn't go into really any specifics, but he just was like, I am laughing out loud at this entire saga.
Starting point is 00:23:55 I love it so much. If I ever run into an event, please say hi. I'd love to catch up on this just out of the clouds. And he's just around. So whenever he, I see, he's like breaking news. I'm with you, Dan. I'm trying to figure it out, but he doesn't really tweet anything out. He'll randomly tweet like Tiger makes par on two and remains, you know, even bar through.
Starting point is 00:24:16 And that's like that's like what he does on Twitter. But yeah, I'm trying to figure out when he breaks news. I'm like, Doug Ferguson, let's go. And then I had a moment yesterday on Instagram. I was scrolling through in one of the big golf accounts, like that's just a classic meme, like bullshit Instagram account, just had like Tiger Woods to play in Hero World Challenge per Doug Ferguson and Barstool Sports is Dan Rappaport. I looked at that.
Starting point is 00:24:41 It was like, whoa, what's going on here? Yeah, Doug, I mean, if you're around as much as he is, I think he goes to like 30 events a year every year for the past 25 years. And if you're a normal person who can talk to people, which Doug is, like Doug's a good conversationalist you guys have talked to him, you're going to make connections out there. So that guy, he's got like an offline Airbnb in every city, right? He's got a family, like a host family situation.
Starting point is 00:25:04 He's friends with all the tournament directors. I mean, he's there. When these guys, these young guys are playing their first events in the fall at Myacoba or at, you know, the Houston Open. He's there and he's asking them these questions. So these guys are all super familiar with him. He's probably the most plugged in guy. And he's writing is arguably more important than it ever was before because all these newspapers around the country used to have golf writers. And none of them have golf writers anymore.
Starting point is 00:25:29 And they all just use the Associated Presses Wire. So he's definitely the most like red golf writer in the world because small town America, when they're reading golf stuff, it comes straight from Doug Ferguson. And everybody's, everybody's to a degree or most outlets now are biased in some way. They're pro PGA tour. They're pro live. They're this.
Starting point is 00:25:48 And he's just, Doug plugging away. AP wire. Keeping it real. Keep it simple. This is what happened. He's like the only guy doing that, I feel like.
