Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, 4Play listeners. You can find us every Tuesday and Thursday on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. Chevy and the heartbeat of America. Okay, we love Chevy. We love America. We're all over America. Today, everybody's got the bases covered once again from, you know, an airport, tiny little podcasting room. You could call it to the Oregon cliffs out here at Band and where I'm at and everywhere in between. We've kind of got the whole country covered, just like Chevy has for over 100 years when it comes to cars, vehicles, American cars, that bow tie, the SUVs and the collection. They bring it all to you. And that's why we love Chevy.
Starting point is 00:00:41 We do. We love Chevrolet. Great show, a little over the place, but it's October and the golf season. So what we do? We get into TGL. We get into a little bit more live stuff. Talk a lot about Bannon Dunes, which is always interesting because it's just one of the great places in the world. Yeah, great show.
Starting point is 00:00:58 all brought to you by our friends at Chevrolet, Great American Car Company, who we are proud to partner with. Frankie's got just an iconic golf trip that he's sort of teeing up right now, so he gives a little bit of details about that. We talk quite a bit of hockey, Cal Clutterbuck, great friend of the program
Starting point is 00:01:14 who Kiz knows incredibly well. We go through, you know, Kiz kind of explains to us a little bit different styles of hunting that we might find ourselves in going forward. We decide to do that highly demanded Kisner and the 4Play crew Go Hunting type YouTube show.
Starting point is 00:01:31 So it's a great show we're all over the place, like we said, and you can go all over the place with Chevy and their great lineup of SUVs that traverse, the equinox, the tracks, it's all great stuff. Check out that entire lineup at Chevy.com. I've got a buddy who struggles with that shot. A lot of his name's Frankie Burrelli.
Starting point is 00:01:50 So the guys actually gave him a nickname of Butter Nives because he was always nice to the cross the green. Broke 100. Now you've got to break 90. We appreciate what you guys do for golf. It's been really cool. Thank you. You're making it cool.
Starting point is 00:02:04 We appreciate it. I was like, hey, Phil, you only fucking $29.99. And he grabs 100. He's like, yeah, I won $90,000 of these yesterday. He goes, take 100 and go fuck yourself. What? What are you guys taking? It's ain't a hobby.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Foreplay. Presented by Barstool Sports. We got the entire squad back again. We've got the bases covered yet. Again, we've got Frankie. in some sort of room, tiny room, it appears, at the ATL airport where he spent far too much time in his career of personal sports.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Kids coming off, well, we thought you're doing push-ups, you're doing something else. We got Trent Ryan in his beautifully decorated and well-lit room. I'm at Bandit Dunes, which we could get to, but the entire squad's here, Frankie. Frankie, well done, by the way, finding this spot to do the podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I appreciate that. I mean, I think before I get into anything about my whereabouts, you have to clarify what kids was doing because he made it sound like he was spanking the monkey before we got in the reporting. He was just taking a shit. Yeah, bowel movement, I believe. A doctor will say a bowel movement.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Like, you know, kids was doing so. We thought kids were doing push-ups. He was doing something else before he hopped on here. It's like, whoa, what other pumps were you getting in? Yeah. Britt was at home waiting on me when I walked in the door. That's what happened. Oh, unfortunately,
Starting point is 00:03:21 9 a.m. shit hit like an alarm clock. Yeah, I'm in the Atlanta airport heading down to a golf trip, an interesting golf trip. Like one that I, you know, every golf trip I've ever gone on, I've really like known every single person that I've gone on it with or at least some people. And this one, I would say Mark Robers from OAR is like the closest person I know from it. And I've shared a stage with them when we sung. We sang like a Christmas song during a pop punk show. And we had, you know, we've met a couple times here and there. But he's going to be my guy.
Starting point is 00:03:51 him and Jason Biggs are picking me up from American Pie and we're going to go down to this really cool golf course and yeah I mean the list of guys I'm going to be playing with this pretty hilarious you know it's it's going to be a hell of a week so I'm down here in Atlanta I've got I'm in one of those little pods in the Atlanta airport you can see there's just weird liquid on the wall to my right which is not a good sign because this is one of those little like personal personal pod so maybe kids was in here before recording there you go there you go and we'll see yeah so happy to see you all though yeah how's your game looking for this big trip and what kind of format is the is the game it's a stableford it's a stable for which i've never been a part of and i might need a brush up so if whoever knows a stableford maybe explained for me and all the listeners who don't know how that works i think it changes depending on how you set it up but it's normally a par zero bogies minus one and then everything else minus three and then birdie's plus two, Eagles
Starting point is 00:04:53 plus five, I believe. Yeah. I think that's Frankie's looking at me like I just said there was a ghost behind him or something. All right, scoring. We will be using a modified Stableford scoring for the small tourney with blind draw partners based on index. All scoring will be net. Max score is net.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Double bogey max. Zero points for double bogey, one point for a bogey, two for par, three for Bertie, for Eagle, six for a little. Wow. That's not how he did. I mentioned we would draw blind partners. We will blind draw partners, sorry.
Starting point is 00:05:29 We will not draw blind partners. Big difference. Everybody gets a blind. Everybody gets a blind partner. Everyone gets a blind adaptive golfer. There you go. So yeah. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Tell me about being on Cal Clutterbuck's show. Was that last night or two nights ago? When was that? It was last night. My dad and I went to the Islander game. and my buddy Andrew our first game of the year we've just been busy with travel and frankie boy it's a little bit different than when I was going to 400 straight out of games at the national coliseum I didn't miss a game for like 11 years um but yeah first game of the year
Starting point is 00:06:04 and we were walking through the hallways and people are hooting and hollering at my dad you know my dad's like a local celebrity there at the islander games and they were about to go on for the pregame show it was like maybe 10 minutes before puck dropped they were still they were on for the pregame show they were about to come back from commercial on msg and Cal and Shannon Hogan, the host, she pulled us on and like they were micing us up. They were out in three, two, one. I'm like, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:06:29 You know, literally pulled off the, off the entrance way. So it was cool, though. They showed us all their new, dude, the segment they were doing, they were trying that crazy food I was telling you guys about. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:06:38 saw that bar. Breed and cheese. It was unbelievable. It tasted like jelly. It was like having brie and jelly. And then they tried another thing where it was brisket on top of a uncrustable. Now, you may think that sounds outrageous. But let me tell you something.
Starting point is 00:06:56 America is a wild place, and you can put brisket on top of an uncrustable. That's not against the law. And it tasted good. Wow. Wow. I don't know if I can pull that one off. I know. My dad almost said that on live TV.
Starting point is 00:07:09 He's like, I don't know. I'm like, I just like, it looks all amazing. You know, he's like, I don't know about the uncrustable. I'm like, that you got to try it. I'm like shoving it in his mouth. Good to see my guy. Cal Clutterbuck getting a little retirement gig. I didn't know he was doing that.
Starting point is 00:07:25 And I saw him all slicked up with his hair, jilled. And she kind of threw it to him. And he kind of stumbled through his first thing. I was like, that's the cow I know in love right there. He kept saying that joke. He was like, ducks on the menu tonight. Yeah. He was beating that one like a dead horse.
Starting point is 00:07:40 We were listening. No one had the mics on. No one had the ears in. But yeah, no, Cal's doing great. I mean, he's in between the benches. So he's still like, you know, he's on the ice. I watch him. He's like at home.
Starting point is 00:07:51 You know, the guy that's played that much hockey before, he's, like, in between the benches announcing. And, like, I see him. He's, like, he's doing smelling salts still. Like, it's, it's, he's the best. He's an animal, man. One, I went on my, first time I ever met him was a golf trip like you're going on. But boy, did he show out on that golf trip. He'll drink you under a bus and a heartbeat.
Starting point is 00:08:12 It's unbelievable, man. We woke up feeling so bad, like two hours of sleep. And I just walked outside of the cabin. He's just on one knee shotgunning a beer and say, good morning. morning. Yeah, no, he's a different breed. But to your question, the game's not great. Went to the range yesterday.
Starting point is 00:08:28 I'm actually putting out a video tomorrow for my range session. Did about four different weight changes and two shaft changes in an hour range session. Ended up right back to where we started and ended up finding something. Are we still going right shoulder to the ball or we'd give up on that? gave up yeah i'm now doing center of the club face that's all i care about that's love that let's just sit in the middle okay that's great yeah so the guy the islanders after the game last night and i got to see my guy matt barsall a couple of the guys like matthie shaper came out matt martin a lot of the guys
Starting point is 00:09:06 were excited that like the birelli's were in town they love seeing my dad all going crazy my dad's i you guys have to come to an out again my dad's unbelievable but uh you know i said that to matt barzell i'm like i was like i'm just i actually actually started hitting on the center club base. He wouldn't believe. And he's like, fellas, Frankie just found out that if you hit, and he was,
Starting point is 00:09:26 he was kind of mean about it. It's like, guys, you know, if you hit the center of club face, and they're like, no way, they all got in on it because they're all teams. Like,
Starting point is 00:09:34 they're all boys. Yeah. I wish at that moment he had brought up your, your hobby of collecting pencils as well. Me too. Me too. The Islanders got the win,
Starting point is 00:09:43 huh? Three to two? Yeah, we're playing well, man. Playing well. You were kind of down on them earlier in the season when they only won one game. I would say I'm pleasantly surprised.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Like I just think that they're in this weird period of like having some veterans that probably at the end of their contracts will either move on or retire. And then the other guys are like too young to really be the stars, right? You have Schaefer who's obviously a standout. But like you're in this weird period of waiting for some of the draft picks to blossom. And what do you do in that period? Do you like go all in or do you like wait? So it's like a two or three year season like whatever window.
Starting point is 00:10:17 that maybe you catch fire and yeah, they're playing well. They have a great coach. As Riggs would know, I mean, he played the game. I don't play the game. Coaching means everything. I mean, their power plays better. They're not giving up any goals. Like, they're in every game because of him.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Dude, coaching is so interesting at that level. I mean, you know, I think we all kind of know like football in terms of like game by game. Coaching matters more than anything. Call them plays the whole deal. But at that level, like talking to Coop about it is and hearing him just be like, man, as a coach in something like the NHL, it's incredibly difficult because you're essentially the authoritative figure for a bunch of guys who make
Starting point is 00:10:57 more money than you do. So like the market has determined that like those guys are more important than you are, yet you're the one that's supposed to corral them and get them in charge and or be in charge and lead them and have them follow what you think they should do and you determine their playing time and their lineup and who's going to be on the power play and who's not. and it's easy to lose the locker room, I think, like, as a coach. It's really easy to have these guys start going in their own directions. You know, you get off the plane, you get off the bus, and guys don't hang together. They don't gel together.
Starting point is 00:11:26 They kind of do their own thing. They're worried about themselves, worried about their next contract. Like, it's so easy to get their let teams get to that point. And that's when you start to get a lot of turnover and coaches coaching carousel and they move around. So for somebody like, you know, when you have a really good coach, obviously makes a huge difference at holding the locker room together because the the level of play is so similar to team. That's why it's incredible that
Starting point is 00:11:48 like our guy John Cooper is long as long as tenured head coach in the NHL and during that he's gotten two Stanley Cups. Like it's fucking hard to do because once you lose that locker and you can't really get it back. So yeah, I mean it matters everything. I feel like the Islanders have come off to me as a team that's for years like those conference runs
Starting point is 00:12:05 you guys had as like a well coached team over kind of the entire years and like getting a lot out of your team, Frankie. I feel like the Islanders have done that for a long time. That was Barry Trots, and then we went to Patty Waugh, which was kind of like a, well, then we went to Lambert and then Waugh, which was just like a little bit of a switch. Like, Wai was kind of like a player's coach. Like he was a player himself, goaltender, kind of a crazy guy. I like Patty Waugh, but you could tell the structure kind of went out the window.
Starting point is 00:12:31 But like for Trenton, Kiz, and we're going to get to, by the way, like, I'm sorry that we're doing so much hockey talk. The guys are asking me the questions, by the way. So all the people that tell me that they're going to burn Borrelli's down. I can talk about hockey. Like, I'm not the one bringing this up. I've got a few more hockey questions too, so don't segue too quickly. The coach is so important that, like, I mean, I've talked to, and I wouldn't even say this is like airing out anything, but like even, like,
Starting point is 00:12:53 I would talk to Brock about when he was on the power play with the Islanders, now he's on the abs, but like he would be interested in where the coach would put him. Like, I'm like, the game's so fast as a viewer, I'm like, it's just chaos out there. Sure, you have your formations and your, and all the things that you're supposed, the positions you're supposed to be in, but like, a coach will literally put a Brock Nelson either like on the half wall, like on the side, or like in the bumper position, which is like kind of in the slot in the middle or in front of the net. So now you're taking a guy like where his skill is at or what he thinks his skill is.
Starting point is 00:13:19 And the head coach is literally the one or the power play coach is the one dictating where he's going to be on the ice, which like completely affects the type of game you're going to play, how much points you're going to produce. Like you might be the guy that receives the puck on the bumper and passes it out. It's like a triangle. Or you might be the guy like Bo Horvatt. They just feed him the entire time. It's just all the structure that the coach picks. So I found that super interesting.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Like based off your coach and like what scheme he wants to. on a formation. That's literally just like the type of game you're going to end up playing. Some guys get put on the fourth line as veterans. They're like, all right, you're not the guy that used to be. Now you're like a dump and chase and just get momentum kind of guy. So the coach in NHL, like to me is like the most important coach in all sports. I would say it's not too dissimilar from the NFL though.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Like you get an offensive minded head coach, then the offense seems to have the, true, all the momentum. And you get a defensive head coach and you never seem like, you have a great quarterback from a defensive head coach. It's just like Sean McVeigh, I look at it. All they care about is the offense, and then he just goes and gets great defensive players and hopes they do their thing.
Starting point is 00:14:23 NFL's probably more important. Slightly. They're literally calling. It's just so different because they're literally just like calling plays and all the strategy at the end of the game. And like how often we see guys coaches just like choke, fumble, no pun intended at the end of the game on the clock management. They're not kicking a field goal.
Starting point is 00:14:41 It's like that kind of comes down to just the coaching where, yeah, I mean, don't give me wrong. Coaching is huge in hockey and changing up the forecheck, you know, like if you're running a one, two, two, and it's not working, you got to change up the forecheck because the way your team matched up against the other team, like, you know, guys aren't just going to be able to do that on the fly. Otherwise, the whole system breaks down. So, so, yeah, I mean, coaching is is huge. But I do think, like, you know, it's, there's a lot of, like, for Cooper as a player's coach kind of guy. and I think it's really hard at that level to try to be like the guy and the in the homie with like the other players.
Starting point is 00:15:16 And that's another really quick way to lose the locker room. You kind of kind of lean on your assistant coaches a lot or have that sort of relationship with your assistant coaches where you can good cop, bad cop, but you need to. So it's not easy. Calcutterbuck, I want to mention too, qualify for the Barstall Classic Championship. So next month he'll be out at Greyhawk for the championship. But Wally's Irving. He's also just like clinging to his all-time leading hits leader in the NHL. He's got Alexander Ovechkin just breathing down his neck for that title.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So I know he was probably not. He was funny talking to over the last like two years, Frankie, because he's very much just like, well, this guy fucking retire already. We'll get the most goals of all time and just retire so that I can have one record in the NHL. I know. It's an incredible record. Most hits. Most sports.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Like everyone loves the hitting. Just, again, I'm a hockey novice. That's just hitting somebody. Yeah. Just hitting somebody, man. So that's like, that's one. And I'm sure Cal doesn't want to, he might want to suit back up. But like, say, Ovecchian gets like six more than him.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Just put them on, put the pads back on, go back out there, get seven hits, and then get back between the ventures. Also, just like not that easy to get a hit because, like, the guy has to have possession of the puck or else it's a penalty. So, like, you have to be on the puck. You have to be like fast enough to not take a penalty when you're getting the hit, right? You have to be kind of, it's got to be a clean hit. There's a lot that goes into it. You don't just like go up to the guy and just push him on the ground.
Starting point is 00:16:46 That's just interference. You know what I mean? Like that's, you can't do that. So it's not as easy. You have to be like in on the forecheck. You have to hit the guy off the puck. There's just like a lot. You got to be moving.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Calcutterbug was a clanging and a banging hockey player, man. 4,029 career hits. Going 20 miles an hour, like a, like basically a car crash every time. They're flying on the ice. Matt Schaefer last night was averaging 24 miles per hour on the ice last night. Do they have that up on the bill? Yeah, on the jumbo train.
Starting point is 00:17:16 At one point, he had skated 2.3 miles and like Victor Eklund on his own team at like 1.2 miles. Like he had done an extra mile in the same game. How about our goalie? Did he get traded or we got the money meter still going? Still not. So that money's still going. There's got to be other news to talk about it than like just like all the NHL
Starting point is 00:17:35 right like i don't know kids you have a lot of things going on in the world um you know i said in our last pod that i would i think my era of talking about live golf was over and then i saw that you know the one team they thought they could cling to that was going to stick around for 2.0 just the captain just said yeah i just can't do it anymore yeah so i mean every day we talk about it and i feel like it's the final nail in the coffin but louis who stays and saying you know it's just not for me in my game. I think the error has come to a final, final, final end, and we all find out on Sunday. So the Monday pod could be our last time ever talking about
Starting point is 00:18:11 Livgolf. Wow. Wow. End of an era, man. Yeah, Louis Oostehusen. He is out. He made the announcement today that came across our desk. He was the captain of the South African team, like Kiz just said. He had some quotes that I think in the whole context of things are very funny. He wrote five years ago, I made one of the best decisions in my life. moving away from the traditional golf world and into something very special with LiveGolf and Southern Guards, G.C. I'm the biggest supporter of Team Golf and always will be.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Golf needs more of it. I love Liv and the team aspect, but it's time to move on. He says, I feel I have a few more years of good competitive golf left in me. And the only way to be really sharp and competitive is through a schedule I control. He said this is probably the hardest decision I've had to make in my career, but I have to do what I believe is right for my golf. doesn't change how I feel about the team or the guy. So, you know, you could look at that.
Starting point is 00:19:06 It's like, damn, you made the best decision ever. And now he made another unbelievably difficult decision. You could also look at it as like when they paid him a shit ton of money, he just went there. And then as soon as the money ran out, he just left there. It's pretty much what happened there. We're also so used to, certainly in the world of sports. Like, when something ends or somebody retires, it's so emotional.
Starting point is 00:19:28 And it's such, it's this great run. And then the careers that come to an end that, like, weren't that eventful, they just kind of like retire and it's over. But Liv has gotten so much publicity and there's been so much discussion around it that it seems like now that it's coming to an end, there has to be these departures that have flowery language and how it was a great decision. And I love this league and I love team golf where it just doesn't have the same gravitas of like a great career ending because it hasn't been great. but these guys still feel the need to talk about how great it was and I'm moving on and they they actually feel the need to put out these press releases. But in reality, when something else like this usually comes to an end, it's just like, and nobody says anything and everybody ignores it.
Starting point is 00:20:16 But this is this thing's caught so in the middle of it didn't matter, but people pretended that it did. So they feel like they have to say words like, oh man, this was a great decision five years ago when ultimately it really wasn't. Is our good friends over at No Lane Up did make me laugh today. I'll have to give them one little shout out. I guess Louis Oostezen at one point said Southern Guards Forever. And they put like a picture of Louis and said Southern Guards forever. And then right next to it said Southern guards until the money runs out. A little fun Louis Oostazin facts.
Starting point is 00:20:52 2020 and 2021, which is his last year before going over to live, 2020, which was the fall. U.S. Open at Wingfoot. He finished third the following year in the major championships. He finished second at the PGA championship, second at the U.S. Open and tied for third at the Open Championship. Since then, he went
Starting point is 00:21:13 to live right after that. Since then, WD, T60, cut, cut, WD, T23, cut, cut, cut. Those are the only major championships he's played in since then. So Louis Eustazen's 44 years old. That stretch, that was not that long ago.
Starting point is 00:21:29 five years ago when he felt like he could win every single week. He had a bunch of like second, third place finishes outside of the major championships in that stretch. But live golf base. They're just like killed Louis O'S d'Ais. It's kind of what it feels like. But, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Years 39 to 43 feel pretty important in a golfer's career, just in terms of like what you can do, what you should be doing, how sharp you can stay. Might be the last run. And Louis O'Sday and kind of spent it in purgatory. turns out. That's right. So yeah, I, you know, it's, I saw a few things written to that, like, of all the teams that they thought maybe would stick around, it would be the South African team.
Starting point is 00:22:13 The event there was a big deal, if you guys remember, just a few months ago, when they had that South African event, like, the players were crying. They were, like, in tears because of how emotional and how much it meant to them to be playing over there in the home country. The crowds are going nuts. Bryson's driving greens. They had that first hole that was, like, kind of drivable. everybody was like smoking it down the hill and going nuts and and then now it's just over.
Starting point is 00:22:34 So you can play some mad, you know, sad music behind this segment if you would like, but it appears to be over at this point for that team. And yeah, another day on the coffin for live golf. Kids, how do you feel about Trent's assessment of golfers from 39 to 43 and what they can achieve in that window? You're on the downside of the bill curve for sure, especially in this new. era, I believe. You know, distance is such a big key. Like, Adam Scott to me, he's the most impressive guy in that in our era that continues to keep his speed up and continue to grind and be out there. But he also, I just saw a quote where Adam Scott said he hadn't won like seven years on the
Starting point is 00:23:15 PGA Tiller. So it's kind of, you know, VJ Singh, Steve Stricker, Jim Furrick were kind of the goats at continuing to win late into their career. And I think in our generation of four play pod and us four that you'll just see less and less of that forever from now on. Yeah, it's interesting. I mean, yeah, that's why I asked you because, I mean, it's your crew. It's like really hard to accomplish. Yeah, I think so. I think the kids are more prepared.
Starting point is 00:23:43 There's more talent at a lower age that will continue to, they can just outwork you, man. You just can't put the time in that you used to. And, you know, your body, the wear and tear on your body over time just continues to beat you. Like, I played golf 18 holes. with Brian Harmon and Harris English on Tuesday and Monday I was like Tuesday I had no chance I can hit balls today. Just 18 holes and I just
Starting point is 00:24:06 haven't been playing enough to where your body's got to be in shape for. I mean Riggs plays more golf than I do these days. Sure. I actually, I haven't played like an 18 whole round of golf of my own ball. I think in like three weeks. Wow. Oh boy.
Starting point is 00:24:22 I know. Long stretch. I have a shakes. Very long stretch. We did. I do have a another topic for you. y'all i just sent ryan richston a link we have one of 11 court tennis clubs in america in aiken south carolina i don't know if y'all've ever heard of this this game but i was going to let ryan richston show you this is last night i'm on the call this this is an aiken south carolina you're on we have the top 10 players in the world in achin and the main drawl starts today
Starting point is 00:24:49 and i've got to comment you're on the call we're talking we're commenting are you in one of the box on the Very passionate call there from that. Nicky is getting fired up. Yeah. I can tell it's getting close to match time. He's got a little more enthusiasm in his voice. Kevin Gissor is on time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Got worked out. That's nice. He boasts there, good deep boast. As you know, is that. Yeah, that's a, that's a serious sport right there. It looks he can get a freaking eye knocked out. Oh, yeah, man. They just pound.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Watch how hard this guy hits his ball. So what about, what's with all the, like, angles in that room? Yeah, you just, you got to serve it off the penthouse over there. That's where there's my dad sitting in the daydahn right there. That's my seats that I had to pay for as I'm on the call. What hell's going on in Aiken, South Carolina, you know? Man, we got it going on down here. For real.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Oh, the ball's going underground. Top 10 in the world starts today, 1215 Eastern Time. You can watch it on this YouTube channel, I RTPA. This is the satellite final to get into the main draw last night that I called. and then the big boy. Number two in the world starts us off at 1215 a day. John Lumley from Philadelphia Racket Club. I can't believe the ball went underground by the net.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Oh, yeah, that's where all the balls go. There's a bucket down there and there's a curved or a sloped slanted hole that puts all the balls into a bucket. It's sick. So you don't have to have ball boys. They have one of these at Sand Valley. They have like one of these huge courts at San Valley. I don't know if you guys were with me when we saw up, but we did like a tour.
Starting point is 00:26:27 And yeah, like the little like roof above wherever people are sitting right there and stuff, that's like in play, right, kids? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And those are just nets in front of those people's faces. So when they just smashing in the net, everybody jumps back because it looks like you're about to get killed. White people will do anything, man. But we were hosting all these guys this week.
Starting point is 00:26:46 So I've been doing that every night and they're all fired up. They think like I'm some superstar. It's hilarious. I'm like, dude, I was never top 10 in the world in golf. What are you talking about? If this were 2004, Will Ferrell would be making a movie about that. You ever see the sport High Lie?
Starting point is 00:27:08 No. It's like J-A-L-I. I think it's like J-A-I. I thought that was a beer. Hi-L-I. Dude, it's like the most corrupt sport of all time down in like Miami and down south. They'll,
Starting point is 00:27:22 you got to pull up, this game is you've definitely seen this the way they fling this ball like 800 miles an hour it's on this like curved oh i remember that of your hand jackass remember when they did that did they do it when they would they stood at the end with their with their butts to the guy throwing and they threw oranges at them pretty sure it's you can throw a ball the hardest in the world with that thing just the rotation up the whatever it's called rich and i think it's called jai lie with a jay pull up a video this crazy sport. They reminded me of it just because it's in like an outrageous kind of
Starting point is 00:27:56 court. It's like all glass. Look at these guys. And it's so satisfying. Watch this. And all they're doing is just catching it with like this really long fingernail. Yeah, Jackass definitely did this. So what's the point?
Starting point is 00:28:14 What are we trying to accomplish? I don't know. The other guy catch it. But it's known as like the number one corrupted game like the mafia would always like rig the high lie games. I don't know. Allegedly. Allegedly.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Yeah, like allegedly. I would say. I was trying to get our partners at Draft King is to get me some lines on these matches in here at Aiken, South Carolina, on this, you know, court tennis program. I was setting my own lines. These other pros are sitting in with me, and there's like, you know nothing, kids. I'm like, yeah, but it's still more fun to do it this way.
Starting point is 00:28:48 I mean, if there's like world rankings, I'm sure it's legit. You could probably, you know, wager upon it somewhere. They got kids on the calls. pretty legit. Real legit. Yeah, the problem is I don't know the game, so I'm just in there for, you know, basically fluff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:02 But one, like in the matches, if the pros are so into it that they'll just come and commentate with us, the one guy that's not, the guys that aren't playing in that match, and they just rotate around. The conversation about guys, like, having trouble to compete with the younger generation at this point, like to where the game's out right now. Is there any data on what the average winner was? from like each decade. Are we significantly lower now of average age of winter than we were in 1990?
Starting point is 00:29:36 Would you guess? I really don't know, but we'd have to get my stat guy at NBC on that old Harrison. Because like I feel like the numbers way lower, but also wasn't there that crazy stat that this is going to be the first time in master's history that like no major champion under the age of 30 is going to team. it up at the Masters. Yeah, that was one of rigs after the BGA championship, I believe. Right?
Starting point is 00:30:02 So, I mean, that's a pretty old, that's, I mean, not old, but higher than you would think. No major champions in the 20s going into the Masters in 2027. I also think like the average, the average age of like a top 20 player, I feel like is significantly lower than it was 30 years ago. that's speculation and and nothing that I've researched, but it feels that way to me. I always ask what's the average age of tour, and I think that has come down in the last 20 years.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Like of all the members of the PGA tour that are obviously competing and active, I would say that average number is down for sure. Yeah, I feel like growing up I would always hear when I was really getting into golf and paying attention, more attention to pro golf, I would always hear that a golfer's peak was in their low 30s. And it was always, that was the time to make their hay. That was the time that they had built up the perfect combination of like experience, but they were still young enough to compete and have all of their touch and feel and speed
Starting point is 00:31:08 and everything in like their low 30s. Yeah, I do know, like I believe Calamore Calo is 29 years old and he's going to turn 30 right before or, you know, shortly before the Masters tournament. And he will be the last under 30 major. champion. So yeah, when they kick off the masters, there will be zero major champs under 30, but they still did lock in those majors when they were pretty young. You know, a lot of those guys, you know, like Morcao, when he won that PGA, when he dropped the lid, you know, that was like in the middle of COVID, right? It was like six years ago.
Starting point is 00:31:39 So he was 24 or 23 or whatever the hell that was. So, uh, so I would be interested. That's a great stat to have somebody look up there, kids. Do you want to guess it? This is what Google said. You know? Google it. Ryan Richardson's on it. Wait, what's that do you have, Ryan Richardson? The average age in 2006 compared to right now. Okay, I love that. Members. You guys want to guess?
Starting point is 00:32:03 I would say 34 to 31. Now or 31 now, 34 in 2006. I would say 35 to 30. Yeah, Frank, you pretty much got it. Well, I'd look it up. Historical age trends by error. in the 1980s to the 1990s, the average age of top competitors and winners leaned older as veterans like Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Hal Irwin, remained competitive and won into their late 30s and 40s, bringing the average mean winner age generally stayed above 34 to 36. Then in 2010's, 2000 to 2010's, the peak age of winning settled around 35 years old, though in the late 2010 saw a massive quote unquote youth quake with stars like Jordan Spee, Justin Thomas, Rory McElroy.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Roy, Rory McElroy, winning, trying to say that with peanut butter in your mouth, winning frequently in their early mid, early to mid-20s. Listen, I got up at 4 o'clock in the morning this morning. And then now, the average age just says at about 30.6 is now. So, I mean, it's dropping significantly. Yeah. Five years is significantly.
Starting point is 00:33:14 It slowly went down. So, I mean, from the 1980s to 2026, drop in, call it six, years is a lot. A lot. More than I would have thought, I was going to hand up trust tree, I was going to guess that it wasn't as much as we thought and it was like a year or something like that. So four to be five or six years is a shit time. No, that's not full, you know, we don't know if that's the actual numbers. I'm sure Kiz's stack guy at NBC can get us like legit the average age of every winner, but that's what
Starting point is 00:33:44 Google is saying. This episode is brought to you by Cracken, the official crypto trading platform of Barstool Sports. Cracken has a Halloween promotion going on. One person is winning 1,000 S-O-L. That is 1,000, which is around a $15,000 value at current price, which is roughly enough money by a new driver every time you convince yourself the driver is your problem. Here's the deal.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Okay, here's the promotion starting October 1st, which, you know, that was three weeks ago. So hopefully you're going to get into it, but you can still get into it. you enroll through the Cracken app, Cracken Pro app, or Cracken Pro web. Then it's simple. Every $1 you trade on an eligible trade equals one entry. If you trade $100, you get 100 entries. There's a million entry cap, and it doesn't matter whether you're using Cracken or the Cracken Pro. Same entry pool.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Same drawing one winner. The whole thing runs through Halloween, which is October 31st. So you've still got another 10 or 11 days. And then one person wins 1,000 S-O-L. That's a lot. I mean, you can win over 100 grand value right now, fellas, for just entering through the Cracken app. Yeah, and I know what you've been doing.
Starting point is 00:35:01 You've been entering yourself on your Cracking app from our promo earlier this summer. You've just been trading left and right, trying to get as many entries as possible. So you could win. Would that be a conflict of interest if somebody on the Foreplay pod won the Cracking App promo? I don't know, but I would love to double win, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:18 like I beat kids in this thing, and then I just beat everyone else in the SOL Halloween challenge. I would absolutely love that. Again, it's very simple to enter everyone. It is the Cracken Halloween trading sweepstakes, 1,000 S-O-L, one winner now through Halloween, which is October 31st. You get every $1 that you trade. You get one entry if you trade $100, you get $100,000.
Starting point is 00:35:42 You get $1,000 if you trade $1,000, you get 1,000 entries, 1 million entry cap. So go check it out on the Crackin app or Cracken Pro, 1,000 SOL, $15,000 value right now. That is the Crack and Halloween trading sweepstakes, one winner. Kiz, any comments kind of on the TGL? I know there's been a lot of shuffling going on in TGL. You know, it's been interesting talking with you behind the scenes about it
Starting point is 00:36:14 because you've been like, I don't really know. I haven't heard from anybody for the last several months. But yeah, some new like pickups and just trades and where you're at. Well, obviously, I'm not on the team anymore. I had a two-year contract with Jupyer Links. and they wanted to go, Tiger wants to play, and then they wanted to sign Keith Mitchell, which is totally fine with me.
Starting point is 00:36:35 It gives me a chance to, you know, hang out in January and February instead of flying back and forth to Palm Beach every Monday. But it's fascinating because they started out as four-man teams, and now every team has five. So they're changing their model like to live, you know, every, you know, whatever they think to get it. I think what they figured out is to get three guys out of four
Starting point is 00:36:55 to be able to play at every match is nearly impossible while they're trying to play a regular PGA tour schedule. But with the change in the PGA tour schedule, I think you're going to get some more electric matches early in TGL because more guys will be available. More guys will be in Florida early, probably prepping to get started at the Amex, which is, what, two or three weeks later than we normally start.
Starting point is 00:37:16 So you might, it's starting December 27th, I think I saw. So you might get three weeks of, like, really good matches start early of the teams being able to fulfill the rosters pretty easily. I thought there was some great pickups as far as personalities. Keith will be great on Jupiter Links. And I'm sure I'll still be involved in some sort of fashion at some point. Go down there and do some stuff for them. I got to go down there next week and do a shoot.
Starting point is 00:37:42 So talk to a bunch of the guys this past week before the rosters came out. We all talked about everything going on. So all good from my end. You know, the bad news bears are still going to be a part of my life. and hopefully they continue to win. I think I might even have some equity in the team or something from playing. So hopefully continue to win and make a bunch of money. Well, that was going to be my question was like every other sport when you don't get picked up or you get traded or whatever,
Starting point is 00:38:10 there's some sort of exit meeting. There's a call from a GM. There's, you know, an agent talking to the general manager. Like, was there those conversations with you? Or was it just like a deadline passed? And it's like right. No, Rob, Tiger's guy. He texts me along.
Starting point is 00:38:25 context last week, I think, just tell me what they did on their decisions, how they were moving around and what players were going to do and that Tiger wanted to play a full schedule. I mean, we talked about it at the end of the season. Obviously, I mean, I'm not even playing anymore, really. I played two times this year. So I don't think people that are watching TGL really want a part-time podcast or part-time broadcaster playing in TGL when they can have Keith Mitchell. You got that wrong, I think, dude.
Starting point is 00:38:52 You move the needle there, man. Who else has got a blade one off the pin? Right. I mean, I get it, but they are playing for millions of dollars now. So, I don't know. Thanks for breaking news on Tiger's schedule, by the way. That's huge for the podcast. Yeah, I think Tiger speaking of.
Starting point is 00:39:12 You're selling yourself short. But you because, yeah, it's an entertainment product. But, yeah, I mean, you were great on it. I mean, we got to the finals, you know. What if we had won? And then they benched me. I would have been a little sad about that. But they benched me for Tiger.
Starting point is 00:39:25 in the finals anyway. And then we got our brains beat in. Yeah, I mean, the entertainment product aspect. I don't know that anybody brought more engagement and views and reactions to TGL, anybody more than you. I mean, maybe Tiger Woods,
Starting point is 00:39:43 but he wasn't there that often. But like, I mean, I think it's kind of a no-brainer. Yeah, it was fun to do it because, you know, guys or golfers are in different parts of their career than I was. when I was doing it, right? I was there just to have fun, try to compete, try to help my team. Most of these guys were grinding, you know, they're in the middle of getting ready to
Starting point is 00:40:02 play major championships and, you know, in the middle of their season. So I just remember in that earpiece, you know, Jeff Neubarst, the producer, all I heard the entire match was keep talking kids, keep talking kids, keep talking kids. I'm like, what do you want me to talk about? He's like, I don't care, just keep talking. I got to cut to you at some point. So it was a lot of fun. I know guys were grinding.
Starting point is 00:40:22 There's not a ton of like big talking personalities, trash talking. Justin Thomas will be great. I had it. And there's various others. It'll be good. But it'll be cool to watch. I'm looking forward to it. I was playing golf with Nate Bargazzi the other day.
Starting point is 00:40:36 And he's like, we love TGL. Like, we loved watching it. We were all in. We watched it every night. My son and I would watch it. And, you know, my brother and I, you know, have our teams. And so that was cool to listen to that people like the different aspect of golf in that, in that manner. It was way different.
Starting point is 00:40:55 He thought it was cool that we were playing those crazy holes all the time, which I thought was insane. I thought we should play traditional golf holes, but it was computer golf. Where did you play with Dave Bargetti? I play with them at Sea Island on Monday with Harmon, Harris. He's the man, dude. And then he gave a little show at the end for all the people who were down there.
Starting point is 00:41:19 It was hilarious. Best. That was funny, dude. conversational, one of the funniest people that's ever lived. Yeah, he's just the same, like, kind of monotone all day long, but just if you really pay attention and you catch his little wrinkles into his comments, you just die laughing out of nowhere. So I'll tell you a funny story.
Starting point is 00:41:39 I'm riding with Nate all day, and Harmon isn't riding in another car. And Harmon has just gotten back from Japan, and he's telling Nate how much he enjoyed Japan. And he says, you know, man, I could move to Japan. like it's such a nice country we enjoyed it i had my whole family over there everybody loved it and then brian gets in his cart and drives off and nate and i start driving and nobody's saying anything and about halfway down the fair way Nate looks over at me and goes that's not the brian harmon i thought
Starting point is 00:42:06 he was and i just died dude i like fell out of the cart dying he's like this guy that is like mcgiver that wants to kill everything and hunting fish wants to move to japan suddenly we had him on the show a couple times he's he's the best like i have to go back and actually listen to our interview with him when we went to old hickory uh he said some things in there i remember had us cry and laughing yeah he's all he's like he's obviously very funny but his delivery is a huge part of it where it's just the way he says things is like as funny as it gets outrageous how good it is yeah it's so good he was telling me he's building an amusement Park.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Yeah, in Nashville. It's crazy. Wow. He's like, I was roller coaster shot. He was right where y'all just were, Hershey, Pennsylvania. Are they have an amusement park there? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:59 He was like, I was roller coaster shopping in Hershey, Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago. I just said, say that again. He's a little bit like, he's kind of old school Hollywood in that. He got really famous off of stand up. And then he's got like a sitcom that I'll, like, I'll be on a plane and I'll be looking over somebody's shoulder. and like five people will be watching Nate Bargatsy sitcom. And then
Starting point is 00:43:22 he's, I'm going to build an amusement park, which feels like something somebody would have done 30 years ago, but he just, he's so famous now, especially like all across the country that he can just do things and they've become the biggest thing going. Like it's, it's, he's old school famous in that he got
Starting point is 00:43:38 famous and the whole country knows who he is. He said a Guinness Book World record of, uh, like most sold out arena shows in a year. He's crazy. highest gross and comedian of all time in a year i think like he had the biggest year of any comedian of all time he would go to these arenas that hold 15 to 20 000 people and do two shows in a day sold out well it's because he's got the whole family like you know and like you look at
Starting point is 00:44:07 twitter and you look at instagram and like wow Shane gillis is the biggest thing going and don't get me wrong he is absolutely massive but he gets like guys like us in our demographic Nate Bargatsky, Nate Bargatsy gets the mom, the dad, the son, the daughter, the whole thing. And they all go to the shows. And that's why he sells out the biggest arenas in the world twice. Yeah, to your point, Trinney, we were talking business a little bit. And he said, yeah, my two biggest markets. One is Nashville, obviously, because I live there.
Starting point is 00:44:37 And then what do you think his second biggest market is? Like, it's a city? Well, just like an area, geographically religious. Oh, Midwest. In the South? no like the Mormon sect like the BYU Utah because he doesn't cuss or drink or dude or tobacco so he they he said that it's crazy man like I can just put a show out there and
Starting point is 00:45:04 they sell it out instantly every time right like that makes sense the last comedy show that Joy Ryan and Gary Ryan went to in Cedar Rapids Iowa was Nate Bargatsy incredible they went because that's like but he but then like, you know, to guys like us, still, he's so funny. The way he talks to what he talks with. It's just so across the board funny that it just works for everybody. It's pretty incredible.
Starting point is 00:45:30 Gary Ryan at a comedy show. That's, I need to be there for that. Dude, I've never been to a comedy show with him, but I, I, with you laughing. I wonder. I know that joy is laughing a lot. Yeah. I'd be curious what Gary's laughing. I, that's a really great point.
Starting point is 00:45:47 I'm going to take them to a comedy show because I want to know what he's laughing at. So funny. Yeah. All right. We've got a little Hero World Challenge. I think there's any chance, Mr. Woods, you know, we just got a little bit of a tidbit into Tigers. You're going to play full, you know.
Starting point is 00:46:05 We're not going to put Kiz on the total spot, but allegedly, Tiger's going to be trying to play a pretty full TGL schedule. We've got the Hero World Challenge, December 3rd through the 6th. They announced 17 out of the 20 players. They left three spots open that are, quote, to be announced tournament exemptions for those three spots. You know, this is kind of the spot that we've been in with Tiger Woods, I don't know, a hundred times.
Starting point is 00:46:28 It feels like going into this part of the year where it's like, is this man going to try to make a comeback or not? But still up in the air, you know, we saw those swings over the last couple of weeks from a couple of Tigers different events on the range. He's doing the clinic. He's doing the slingshot where he's hitting these hard draws and really getting after it, recoiling.
Starting point is 00:46:46 He's going to play more TGL. He's going to try to play a CGL. the next year somewhere. We might see Tiger at the Hero World Challenge in like a month and a half, gentlemen. That would be exciting. That would be incredible. Yeah, I think he plays there and PNC, Father's Son. I think he's going to play both.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Wow. That would be very exciting. I mean, we can't have any more setbacks injury-wise, but the way he was swinging and moving on the range, I mean, the guy loved to compete, come back, get your feet wet at the hero, play with Charlie and the Father's Son, play some TGL, get ready for Augusta.
Starting point is 00:47:19 that's what I'm talking about. I like that attitude. And the Champions Tour, you know, we could see them out there in a cart, ripping around, playing some Champions Tour stuff. Yeah, I'm unsure they're scheduled leading up to the Masters.
Starting point is 00:47:32 I don't think he would just go play a regular Champions Tour event. I don't, that's just my brain. But you never know. If they have them, I don't think they have a major before the Masters out there. You've got to think they'd be heavy, heavy PNC favorites, right?
Starting point is 00:47:48 Yeah. Well, there's some good combos out there, man. There are. There are. Longers, dude. Longers are a problem. Real controversial victory last time when Bernhard was teeing off from like the front of the fucking green. We had like the cootures, I feel like are a real problem.
Starting point is 00:48:08 But all those kids now, like, I haven't watched in a couple years, like those kids now are like not kids. That's, yeah, Charlie Wood's like hitting it, you know, 320 yards. I should. Yeah. It wouldn't be heavy. Heavy was the wrong word. I think, man, it would be a great field. I'm with you. I haven't watched the last couple of years. It kind of feels like with everybody else. But if the woods get involved again, I'm in. I'm getting moved out of this little area. So this is where I leave you. I actually just found out I'm shooting something today with like a gun. So kids, I'll let you know how to. Yes. Will you video that for me? 100%. Who is the actor you said you're going with? Get him to commentate you shooting. for me on a video. I will. I will. Would you do not pay enough time in your pod? They're kicking you out?
Starting point is 00:48:55 You know, like the ride to get down there, which like I have not been in charge of, because like I said, I really know anyone, they're leaving in like five minutes, and I'm definitely not, I'm more than five minutes away from where they are. Have you gotten your bags yet? No, no. So where are you going to find your bags? I would hope that my golf bag is just where all the golf bags are. And I was thinking about that.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Like, it's been an hour since I landed. I mean, people like take poops and stuff and they go and get their, their luggage, right? Like, what if I just had like a stomach ache, would they like get rid of my bags? No, it's still down there. It's still down there. It's still down there. It's not down there. I'm coming back on the show and we're having a problem.
Starting point is 00:49:36 I just think it might be in the baggage office. You know, they might have like. Oh, well, I got to get moving. I got to get moving and shaking here, boys. Rig, Joy, band. And the pictures looked insane last night. That place is incredible. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Trent, have a great weekend. I'll let you know. You too, Frankie. Send me some pictures at that place. I want to see it. And don't wreck your side by side when you hand you the keys. I don't know if I trust you driving a Polaris. I don't know what I'm going to do on this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:50:01 All right. I'll see you, boys. Have fun, Frankie. Bye, bye. Wow, he's going to be shooting something. That's a, that's a sight of a kid. Kids, you see the video of us shooting with Mr. Burns. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Everybody keeps asking me to do a video on our YouTube. channel me taking you guys hunting but i just respond and say did y'all not watch the video with sam burns do you think these guys are ready to hunt i still want to volunteer and i want to do it we might have to start with a dove hunt okay what dove hunt it's more social yeah yeah yeah yeah um i'm with a rifle under pressure i've actually proven to be a really good shot what a time They shoot straight, so it's only up to you if you can hold it steady or not. Yeah, but as you know, kids, you sit out there. You're in like a deer blind, maybe all morning.
Starting point is 00:50:56 You finally see that buck that you've been waiting for for maybe two days. You get fucking nervous, man. Your adrenaline's pumping. There's like a live creature walking, however many yards away, that you're going to get like a shot at. And you're just like, oh, my fucking God. It's like nerve wracking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:13 Are you able to talk? Like, is it a hang? Is that what you go for? or do you have to sit there in silence? Depends on what we're hunting and what the situation is. Give me an example of what you'd like to do, and I would tell you how it goes down. Well, if you said we're saying with dove hunting, social.
Starting point is 00:51:31 We sit on stools like 30 yards from each other with, you know, snacks and drinks. You have to be in full camo and these birds fly in the feed where you're already sitting and you just try to shoot them out of the sky and then you pick them up. And you get to kill 15 of them, so that's fun. you can just shoot a lot if there's if it's a good hunt see and i can sit i can sit right beside you the whole time and just coach you through it and laugh at you and it's not like we have to go hide sniper style peasant hunting yeah pheasant hunting's very simple out of a tower they just
Starting point is 00:52:04 release them out of a tower and you kill them i think we start with the one where we can talk and be social and eat snacks i knew you'd like the snack part well yeah i mean i want especially if we're going to do video which I think would be great. We can't do the one where we're just sitting there in silence for seven hours. Like that's not going to be that interesting. I think where we sit there and we talk and we eat and I'll be wearing full camo. I know you say you don't have to. Like I'm going full boat.
Starting point is 00:52:31 You know, I want to do it. I think it'd be fun. I'm sure we can get our barstool team to make you a full camo package to be able to wear out there. No doubt. Quail hunting. I remember being insanely difficult for me, kids. Well, it's probably the most unsafe shooting for novice hunters because birds are on the ground.
Starting point is 00:52:56 They're getting up and you have no idea where they're going to go and people get excited, right? There's a lot of rules to quail hunting to be safe. You got to stay in a line. You've got to move up at the same rate. You got to make sure your window, you know where you're shooting and the bird's not worse shooting at someone else. So there's a lot of coaching to quail hunting even though it's not. that difficult because the birds are on the ground the dog points them you flush them they fly out but they can fly behind you left of you right of you and there's somebody over there and they're like faster right i remember like peasants feel like they kind of like float and they're like bigger in the sky whereas like i remember that's definitely a bigger target quail were just too fast for me i'd be like
Starting point is 00:53:38 whoa what the fuck was that i got gone gone so when dove and quail season come in we might just have to do a little YouTube trip and we'll film both of them. We could get B drones up on the quail hunt, just watching these birds. I'd love to do that. Let's fucking do that. My old man, you know, Dr. Steve would be really into this. He would be very into this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:06 All right. Yeah, I am. You know, Frankie kind of mentioned I'm here at Bandon for the Uncle Tony Invitational. That's put on and posted by our guy Matt Janella. We got quite the weather weekend. If folks recall it last year, we played in the worst single day of weather I've ever played golf in. It was like 45 to 50 degrees.
Starting point is 00:54:25 It was blowing 40, and it was pouring rain the entire time, the entire day. Luckily, we were, you know, we were the night before around the fire. We kind of all rallied each other to be really excited about it. We went out there and just embraced it. We kind of pre-game the round of Pacific Dunes for the weather. We're lucky this day.
Starting point is 00:54:44 time boys today i think we're doing a little like warm up round we're going to spin around band and dunes and then we got three kind of like tournament rounds for the buddy's trip coming up um but today's just like a warm up round me and my guy kyle cochran and i think it's going to be like 64 degrees and sunny at bandon and it said wind gus might get up to eight miles an hour is what i saw so we are going to have ourselves a delightful day at band and dunes today uh but we got 24 guys mr tom pashley uh from pinehurst is uh here he's flying in today So I'm going to have quite the time at Bandon. I'm sure I'm going to post a bunch of photos.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Last night I got the coolest photo of all time of that sunset overlooking Bandon. Then I threw a Instagram story. I had like, I had like 20 people respond being like, can you just like text me this picture? I'm going to make it the background of my phone. So I feel a little bit like a sperm donor kind of where I have like the background
Starting point is 00:55:32 of a picture that I took is now the background of many other people's phones. There's like dozens of people out there. But yeah, I will be abandoned from now until Sunday. I'm insanely excited about it. We went through maybe a month or two ago. you guys were kind of grilling me on like where do you think Bannon versus Piner's
Starting point is 00:55:48 versus Big Cedar where's everything rank and I was really saying it's like Piner's and Bindon are the top for me I really think that like Bandon might barely edge out Piner so it's nice to be back and be here with a bunch of buddies so kids you just mentioned you've been drinking for like 17 you know days and feeling like that I'm coming off a couple nice days of recovery on the Woop
Starting point is 00:56:07 so I'm proud of myself it is not going to be a good stretch for the next five days on the old Woop Recovery band so you know if anybody had if I'm on any community things which I think I occasionally I get like a message from somebody via whoop because I think like five years ago Trent when we started doing the whoop we like promoted a four play community that has like hundreds if not like over a thousand people in it and you just forget that like if those people really know what they're doing they can just like look at what our stats are you can just see a rig's got three hours of sleep last night went to bed at three
Starting point is 00:56:40 in the morning got up at six and his HRV was like zero he's going to die today so I think people could probably just see that but it's going to be a great time I'm incredibly excited and I'm very thankful for my guy Matt Janella putting together incredible incredible trip so it's a very fun week for me gentlemen yeah I've never been to ban and I want to come check it out
Starting point is 00:57:00 sometime are you uh do you stay on site or do you have to rent houses or how does that work you stay on site they've got a bunch of different types of lodging Me and Kyle are sharing like a loft over in the spruce sort of like cottages. We have this cool little lake. I posted a picture last night too of like from our window in our little two-bedroom loft. You just see these awesome, really tall, classic like Pacific Northwest trees with like a little lily pond almost behind it. There's like a little bridge kids. And then you would like we're doing a lot of nature talk.
Starting point is 00:57:36 We're doing a lot of outdoorsman. type talk. They've got just like fishing rods attached to this little dock down by the pond. So one of these evenings, I think we're going to go out there and try to catch a couple of fish. Beautiful. Hopefully you're not waking your roommate Kyle up early this morning on the Pacific Coast as we're recording quite early for you. He's a military man. He's up and ready. He's up at Adam. You know, he's ready to rock. He's already made his bed, got his shoes lined up perfectly and ready to roll. He's like, he like can't handle it. My bed's not made. I'm surprised he didn't come in.
Starting point is 00:58:08 here during this and be actually, you know, private and make my bet. But, but no, it's going to be, you know, I think I want to say Max Homa maybe did his bachelor party at Band and Dunes like six, seven, eight years ago, something like that because of exactly what you were talking about where he's like, I never been to like a place like that. And I just wanted to go with a bunch of my buddies and he loved it and thought it was a great great time. Ryan Moore, PGA tour winner is on this trip. He, you know, he's, I remember he used to rock like the old school style. He had a tie, cardigans in a tie
Starting point is 00:58:39 and even rock. Yeah, that's right. He and his brother Jason Moore both on the trip as well. They're super nice guys, but it's funny watching like we do like a the main event is like a net. You play with one partner for the tournament rounds. So this year it's three tournament rounds. You play two person net, best ball,
Starting point is 00:58:57 pretty much same format as Barstall Classic. And like over three days you just see who wins the Uncle Tony Invitational. We get really into it. But there's also a gross competition. and like now that Ryan Moore's in it like they just win the gross competition by like a million every time no need to even call the scores out
Starting point is 00:59:14 after three days just like here you go Ryan here's your gross tournament win he was one of the best players I've ever seen in my life around 2005-ish 2006 we were still in college amateur that's when he won everything and man every time you got paired against him
Starting point is 00:59:32 I think he beat me in the Western Am and the US Am it was just like well it was like like Tiger Woods 2000, this guy. I can't beat him. He might as well not even play. He's going to be eight under through 12, and we're going to shake hands. Dude, so last year in this,
Starting point is 00:59:48 you know, it was my, it was Kyle Cocker's first time here, and he's a good player, and we played Shee Branch on a day where there was, like, very minimal wind, and like even yours truly,
Starting point is 00:59:56 I posted something like low 70s. I was feeling good about myself. And I remember Kyle shot 67, and he was all jazz up, and he was telling the story last night. He's like, you know, I fired a 67. And he's like in the back of my head, I thought, you know, maybe I clipped like Ryan Moore, you know, like in my head he walked up to him.
Starting point is 01:00:13 And he was trying to, he was poking around trying to figure out, what do I shoot? But you did everybody shoot? And he was like, yeah, he didn't really play his greatest. He kind of missed a bunch of potty shot 61. That's what he shot. And it was like, damn, dude. Sheep Ranch, kids, if you don't know, is a great place. It has no bunkers.
Starting point is 01:00:32 So it's, it's the best. I remember when we played there, gosh, how many years ago was that? Like the confidence I had on the first tee at Sheep Ranch is one I'll never get back because I have since then I have not played a golf course that has zero bunkers. There's really something freeing, especially in my brain when it's like, all right, I don't have to hit out of a bunker no matter what happens today. I don't have to it out of a bunker. I think I probably careered out there.
Starting point is 01:00:57 I mean, that was years ago. Now it was probably like a 94. But like, but I was that place is you can go low at Sheep Ranch. I think your Bucker games highly improved though, Trent. It is. It is. And I'm very proud of that. I'll still have a couple where I'll get stuck in there.
Starting point is 01:01:13 But the knowledge of knowing that I'm not even going to have to deal with it at all is a different knowledge or different confidence than like, let's try not to hit into bunkers. I'm going to do my best to not get in there. But to not even have the option is way better. But yeah, I think my bunker game has gotten better. But I still do not enjoy it. whatsoever. Yeah, it was the first time I've, like, at the time, too, it's been five years where the hell it's been.
Starting point is 01:01:39 But at the time, I remember as soon as we finished that round, Trent Ryan went right into that clubhouse. He bought himself a sheep ranch head cover. He was like, I need the sheep ranch on my golf bag. More, I want more golf courses like that is how I felt then. And it's, I still sort of feel that way. Like just every once in a while, especially if you're in a resort, a great place like Bannon Dunes.
Starting point is 01:02:00 I mean, that place is incredible. have one golf course that doesn't have bunkers on it. And people are going to have a really great, they're going to shoot. Ryan Moore's going to shoot a 61. Kyle Cochgrin's going to shoot a 67 and think he beat Ryan Moore. Like you're going to have those rounds where guys are like, God, that was a great fucking day out there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:18 No, man, this place is special. It's, it's cool to be here too because like everybody we saw last night at the bar at the restaurant is as happy as they've ever been. They've been waiting for this trip for like over a year. They're so giddy. Where are you guys playing tomorrow? Everybody's chit chat. What did you guys think?
Starting point is 01:02:33 Oh, you played trails for the first time going back for? We also have David McLeigh kid here on the trip, who I couldn't be a bigger David McLeod kid fan. I love, you know, he built the original course here, Band of Dunes, Mammoth Dunes, which we played at Sand Valley, the Gamble Sands golf courses, which I'm the biggest fan of. I'm taking the struggle. My buddy's trip from St. Louis. We're doing Gamble Sands next year.
Starting point is 01:02:56 None of those guys have ever been there. So we were getting into it a little bit with DMK last night at the bar as well. and it's just going to be a great trip. I think people are going to, hopefully I'll get some good stories going into next week from it, but it's a great crew, special place. Very excited to be here. On another little bit of news,
Starting point is 01:03:14 I don't know if you guys saw this one, came across your desk there, but Foreplay Tracker is back, officially back. Oh, that's blowing up my X account. I don't know. I have no idea who that is, so I need a little background on that. Yeah, so Forplay Tracker, you know,
Starting point is 01:03:30 really created a name for himself several years ago. I think he wrote, well, I'll show you the, this is from October 20th, 2006, so yesterday he released an official statement. He said for immediate release from its inception in June 2022, the purpose of Foreplay Tracker has been to provide the fans of Foreplay with news and updates on their favorite Barstool Sports personalities. Each day, Foreplay Tracker assembles the world's leading information about foreplay to tweet. It provides a stage for fans to experience funny, dumb, and dramatic moments
Starting point is 01:04:04 regarding the four play crew domestically and abroad. He wrote a little bit more, so I'll get to that in a second. But, because it gives you a little bit of a background on four play tracker. There's also, you know, there's been moments where members of this show have been forced to apologize the foreplay tracker for skewering his good name on the tracker ability, one who's not on the show right now had to formally apologize to forplay tracker on a little back and forth about was it like a tiger woods thing something that i can't exactly remember um but point being for play tracker is really you know he's been a huge fan of the show he's come to a bunch of shows he sat front row at several of our live shows um and then what ended up occurring it appears is that he said he
Starting point is 01:04:51 is happy to share the four play tracker has passed the bar exam would they score high enough to practice law in any UBE jurisdiction. I am now a licensed attorney. He kind of stepped out of character there for a second. He said, I am now a licensed attorney, but that does not mean my tweets are legal advice, reading, liking, replying to, or messaging me does not create an attorney-client relationship Riggs and nothing you send me with Riggs. What's that mean?
Starting point is 01:05:19 I don't understand that part. And nothing you send me is confidential or privileged. All jokes aside, I guess that was a joke. now that I am done with law school and the bar exam, I have some more routine in my life and can continue being a foreplay tracker. I am back again is what he said. So he's back. Nice to see.
Starting point is 01:05:38 First time I met for play tracker, Frankie and I were at the Glenn Club in Chicago. I think we were doing first T announcements for the Barstall Classic and just a guy just walked up to us and had a bunch of candy. It was the favorite candies that we had talked. about on the show and he just dumped them all on the table. And I was like, what the hell is happening? And then he was like on four play track and I was like, awesome. Thank you for all the candy and just walked away like into the woods.
Starting point is 01:06:07 He just disappeared. And that was the first time. I was like, what the fuck just happened? But it was all Frankie and I's favorite candy. So yeah, he'll pop up every once a while. He'll definitely see his tweets, but he'll also weave himself into your real life experience as well. It's an interesting, kids now that you are a member of the four-play podcast.
Starting point is 01:06:27 I would imagine at some point you're just going to see him. You're going to be like, what's that guy all about? And it's going to be a four-play tracker. And then he's going to disappear into the mist. Looking forward to that. You know, it's always good to have some curiosity involved in what we're doing, some randomness. You know, I'm down for that. I'd love to see how this guy filters in and filters out without me really knowing.
Starting point is 01:06:48 It's going to be fun. And then I'm just going to, I'm not even going to ask you. I'm just going to point him out when I don't. know it's him say that's yeah yeah it's a good way to yeah yeah you'll know i you know he might come after me for this he's known for that but if he's going to get back in the frad just i'm confused it how the first paragraph was third person and then the second paragraph was first person and then the third that's kind of what threw me for a loop there but anyways we loved having four play tracker on you know on whenever he's doing his best we're at our best i feel like so he holds us
Starting point is 01:07:17 accountable we need to be held accountable so nice to have four play tracker back um another a quick little announcement. You know, the, the ROM family, welcome their fourth child, another girl to the world. I'm not exactly sure how to pronounce it. It's clearly a Spanish name,
Starting point is 01:07:32 but it looks like, begonia K. Hill Rom is her name. So congratulations to the ROMs. We're big fans of the Rob family on this show. So congratulations to John Rom and his wife and his family. Otherwise, gentlemen, I don't know that I had anything else on my list. I think we need to plug the internet
Starting point is 01:07:50 that invitational first series is coming out next week, right? That's a great call. The episode one's Monday. That's what I thought before we come back on. Yeah, true. Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, 64 players, big Cedar Lodge, $4 million on the line. We have, you know, I believe people have probably seen the teaser at this point now
Starting point is 01:08:13 that came out. It should have come out yesterday, but Internet Advertational is back. It's the number one question that we get. It's number one, you know, comments. It's DMs, messages, tweets that we get is where's that internet mitational? What's the deal? People ask us every time we see them. You know, what happened?
Starting point is 01:08:29 Give me this. Give me that. We tell them, you know, we've been under NDA. So we can't legally. We legally couldn't tell you if we wanted to. They go, all right, but just tell me, was this person and did this bring out? So people are just begging for information. I don't blame them.
Starting point is 01:08:40 That's a good thing that they want to know. So, yeah, kids, it was your first internet invitational experience. It was. It was. It was thrown right into the fray. Didn't know. probably half the talent, maybe even more of YouTube creators. But by the end of the week, I felt like I was buddies with almost every one of them, got to know them all.
Starting point is 01:08:59 We spent a lot of time together. What an event. You got a full array of golfers. That's what I found the most interesting. Like, I show up to a golf tournament, everybody's kind of the same level. I am finding balls and places I didn't know existed. And then I've got people that I think could beat me straight up. So it's just fascinating array of different levels of golf.
Starting point is 01:09:20 and quite a diverse crowd. I mean, got people from everywhere. And, you know, probably my favorite guy that I ever heard of
Starting point is 01:09:31 until I got there was the Duke. Yeah. The Duke's back. I've never heard of that guy. I don't think I watched the previous internet invitational. And I walked in and I said,
Starting point is 01:09:42 Riggs, who in the hell is that guy? And what does he do? He's a trip. He's a trip, dude. Yeah. He really is.
Starting point is 01:09:48 I ended up eating breakfast with him. him for about an hour the last day. I don't know. Just totally unsuspecting. And man, I don't think I said a word the entire breakfast. He told me everything I need about the world. Yep. Yeah, the first internet invitation, I played with him, I guess I played against him the first day.
Starting point is 01:10:09 I don't know. It was so long ago and I forget. But we played too slow and Dave had to come out and speed us up. And it was because he was telling us about a mushroom trip that he had had. And he just talked about, we were in the fairway, the first fairway for like 20 minutes. And he was just telling us about it. And he kind of forgot that we were playing golf and nobody wanted to interrupt him. And Dave was like, what the fuck is happening down there?
Starting point is 01:10:33 I was like, well, Duke is telling us about his mushroom trip. And it's like, keep it moving. He'll just talk to you for ever. Oh, yeah. Keep it moving, man. He told me his daily schedule was the thing I still remember. He works in a hotel, I believe, in L.A. and he has to stay late because he's like the AV guy for the sound.
Starting point is 01:10:54 So he has to stay until it's over. And then he leaves work and goes to raves until they close. And then he sleeps till 5 p.m. And then goes and plays twilight golf on YouTube every day. He was also the guy who three weeks after the first internet invitational, he posted a video of him still at Big Cedar shirtless, smoking a cigarette, just like looking at. out into the wilderness and people are like,
Starting point is 01:11:20 how long are you going to stay there? But then we'll have him on. We had him on the podcast during the PGA show. And it was one of the great podcasts we've done. Because if you get him pointed in the right direction, he's got a great story and he can clearly talk. And ultimately he really does love the game of golf. So coming at it from that angle,
Starting point is 01:11:39 like if you can listen to him and get him pointed in the right direction, he's actually a pretty interesting guy to talk to about golf. dude big cedar hitting like pretty much everyone with the token like yeah we're really glad you're enjoying big cedar if you want to stick around like you know we'd love to have you and the duke just being like really and just sticking around for okay or whatever this guy's got to get off our property so far uh yeah uh kids was great kids was part of the rules you were pretty much the rules official and then you know you were part of the um the little like committee that is Dave and Big Cat and Kiz that you guys just sort of oversee what's going on. You're able to come in from the clouds when you need to and make either a ruling
Starting point is 01:12:26 or make a little bit of a change to something. You know, you're weighing in. You guys were roaming around to sort of as things would progress and dwindle down to like what's really going to be the big moment, big match. You know, your guys' little committee
Starting point is 01:12:42 would kind of wander over that way and get in the mix. There'd always be a rule. there'd always be some banter something going on. And I thought you were, you crushed it. You were great, you were great at it. But yeah, it was, it is funny to see you see all of like the YouTube golf for the first time. Because like, I remember the beginning of the invitation of last year, you know, we sort of like started off with the team started off with a lot of their like big guns.
Starting point is 01:13:06 It felt like out of the gate. And it was just like, you know, it was like Josh Kelly. And then it's Wesley Bryant. And then it was like DOD. And then these people were like hitting their T shots on one. at Paines Valley. And I remember Dave looking around, I was standing there, obviously, he's going, this is what these golfers are like.
Starting point is 01:13:22 No wonder everybody tells me Riggs fucking sucks because he's just like guys are striping the golf balls. And oh shit. And then you got the Duke. So yeah, I think that's like something we pride ourselves on at putting the internet bit international together is that like you get a little bit of everything out there. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:13:41 I think I'll be better. Hopefully I get invited back for your, my second year, because now that I know the people, the problem with the committee is when Big Cat or Dave look at me and like, what do you think about this guy's game? I'm like, I have no idea who that guy is. Never seen him in a golf ball.
Starting point is 01:13:55 He's like, well, we got to make a decision now. And I'm like, well, it's up to y'all too, because I have no idea who that person is. But now I know them all. So now we're buddies. Yep. Yep. And then Breaking 85, most recent Breaking 85 is out.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Colonial Springs, you know, a little bit of a home, a little bit of a home game, it feels like out there. and Trent, you know, we're back. We're back at it on the YouTube. Yeah, go watch it. We had a good day out there. It was fun.
Starting point is 01:14:21 All right. Everybody have a great weekend. Like I said, I'll probably be posting stuff from Band of Dune. So if you're into that kind of thing, you can check out, I'm sure on socials, I'll be firing left and right,
Starting point is 01:14:29 firing from the hip. And you're going to be having a good time out here. Bless to be here. And hope everybody has a lovely weekend, like I said. And we'll be back next week. I'm sure we'll have plenty of episode one of the internet invitational to discuss.
Starting point is 01:14:43 So enjoy that. Monday. Enjoy the most recent breaking 85. Big thanks to Ryan Richen behind the scenes and hit it hard. Hit it hard. Hit it hard. Fuck!
