Blew our minds if we're honest. We got pairings coming out. We do a couple minutes of predicting talking about what we think pairings might be. And then they just come out while we're talking on the show.

I had to get up and down with the nine iron after I told you all I couldn't do it. He told us exactly how the hole was going to go down, and it did. And it did. Yeah. So I got my NBC job. I wish you had telling people. Tell people what's going to happen. Instead of telling them what did happen.

That's called first guessing. You want to know in the biz. Well, we've got presidents covered. You're going to be broadcasting it. Do you make it to any production meetings yet? I did. I listened on my whole ride here from Chicago to Schaumburg. I listened to my whole production memo.

Lots about the golf course. They didn't even mow the fairways until Tuesday from Friday because of the torrential rains we've had in Chicago. But they feel good about it. They hadn't made a decision on ball in hand yet when this pod comes out on Thursday will be the first round. But they're going to make a decision on that. They did not mow the rough. They were going to top it off on Tuesday and then let it be. but Sned's made the decision with them to not mow the rough.

Those are going to think I learned. He says the head official Stephen Cox said that the teams have told him that it's not as penal as it appears. So I would say it's not as thick as it looks. Is that Stephen Cox or is that Mike cocking? No, that's two different Cox. Cocklings and Cox. Stephen Cox is a British guy. He's a head rules official for the tour.

X or CK? It's an X. Yeah. Yeah. Did they mention in the production meeting how much air traffic there is over Medina? Dude. We went there for the – I was my first time on Medina a couple days ago. We went – we got merch in the tent.

Like, it's right over the, the trajectory or whatever you want to call. I want to say O'Hare. Yeah. 10 miles is O'Hare. And I think that I was seeing that on certain days based on which

wind and which runways open or for landing and whatever, that like you have one of the busiest airports in the universe and people just land at it all the time. Non-stop. Dude, and it wasn't just that, like, where we were standing, a plane kept going over, but it's all these different avenues. So there's one over there. There's one over here. It was just wild.

That was, like, unfortunately, that was one of my takeaways from the golf course, but, like, that was just a wild thing that I was not expecting. A little Torrey Pines-esque. Yeah, we didn't mention any of the airplanes in the production memo. We did talk about drones and safety and the president's coming and all the different protocols we have to have for that. Sure. I think I don't have to be at work, like, ass crack a dawn on Sunday when he,

just so I don't have to do any of this stuff. Is that when he's going? He's coming on Sunday for the final day. Been four years since you're George W. Bush. Yep. I saw that video today. It's fantastic. I was on the T right there.

And it wasn't, I got a little bit roasted because I was in that corner with Clinton. Remember Clinton and George W. were there. So there was no like Introduction opportunity And then at one point George W who kind of just was like floating around a little bit just kind of looked at me and like entered conversation with me and shook my hands so i didn't have time to take my hat off anything i just was like hey you know uh hey mr president great to meet you i'm like riggs from barcel he just goes or i said sam bozoian from barso he goes all right sam and then that was the like conversation then i took a bunch of

pictures of him with other people actually and then he kind of got back in the mix and then when they were all like pushing out as a crew is when you guys had your chat with him yeah frankie had like get a video of me shaking the president's hand it was pretty selfish which i was happy to do and you did the right thing you took your you took your hat off he went right in for it he was coming around the corner like with a big group of people and i'm just videoing the whole time and so so i'm just like i'm getting the but also when you're taking a video you can hit the bottom button where it's like taking a picture of the screenshot of the video and but i thought he was coming towards me but then he was wait so how did you know how does that you

How did it happen exactly? I forget. I shook his hand. Because I won't watch the video back. I shook his hand. Yeah, I'm that way of some of my videos. As I went to go shake his hand and then kept my arm around him,

you had your hand back. Yeah, you wanted to go in, too. And then you went out in, out. And then he looked at you and go, snap that son of a gun. He just wants you to take the photo. You're like, I'm sorry. You ever play video games?

Yeah. First person shooter, it looked like a melee attack with my hand coming out. Just throw this up on the YouTube as we're talking about there, Richon. It's one of the funniest videos of all time. And I remember. when we got back to the media tent, I said to Frankie, I said, I have a video on my phone that I'm not putting out. Yeah. I got pictures for you shaking the president's hand,

but we're not putting this video out. We argued for 45 minutes and you were like, it's too funny not to put out and you were right. And it was one of our all time greats. Yeah. It's an all time great. And the other one that luckily for me, I was a part of and for Trent went way better was two years later at the Solheim Cup. We got to meet Obama. That's right. Yeah. I wasn't there. No, you were. No, you weren't. We did, like, this quick trip. I think you had like a, maybe is a year ago or two years ago,

you had like something like a husband or fatherly thing to do. Yeah, it was something to do that. Something family. Okay. And we only went for like a day to promote their Solheim Cup merch. We were there for like one day. I remember getting this text being like, oh my God, how'd I miss that? Dude, we had some guy that was like an insider.

I thought you knew him. It was one of those that, like, had definitely interact with him before, but no idea who he was. Yeah. And he's probably listening to this. So, like, we didn't know who you were, but I knew that we knew you. And he kind of grabbed us under his wing right when we got there. And it's like, by the way, Obama's here, you guys want to meet Obama? We were like, what?

Yeah. Yes. Of course we do. And I think we're all very, like, agnostic when it comes to meeting presidents. I don't care who we are. You're a president of the United States. I mean, come on it's all. So, dude, we just nailed it.

There's less. Yeah, there's less because they've couple have been twice. That's right. That's right. That's what it made me think of it. But we got, we did the right thing. Honestly, got to just, it's a president. It's a president.

There's a good trivia question there, though. How many presidents? How many presidents have served two terms, not consecutively? I want to say there's like two or three. I want to say he was like one of two. I was thinking it's very rare, but it's happened a couple times. Is it like a Roosevelt? No, no Roosevelt.

You know. I do because I just did this trivia and I have the wrong guys. Was it Eisenhower? No, if y'all said, I would get it. But there's only two. DJT. Donald Trump? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, because, yeah, if there's only been two, there doesn't it? 47 minutes. Man, math is catching up. Let's go. We're getting there. But I do have that. Me and Trent got two, we got two great Obama pictures.

Yeah. And I have one of them framed in like the main room. in my house in Pinderson. I was laughed thinking like that I guarantee there's some guys that have stayed here that are like, they don't like that. I can't believe Riggs is a Democrat. He's hanging out with Obama. It's an unreal picture. We're in USA gear.

Huge smile from Barry. It's awesome. Yeah. And we said like, he was like, what do you guys do? We work at Barcelona and he's like, that sounds like a fun job. That's exactly what he said. And then we talk off for like 60 seconds. We had a good 60 second conversation. There's a long time it feels like to be in the president environment. You're just trying to stay. For me personally, I'm just trying to stay conscious. Yeah.

Like I'm trying not to. pass out. It's such a good job. No matter what president. Like Tiger asking you where your station? 100% same deal. The air changes around guys like that. And he made, you know, he was, we were doing like the classic elevator small talk.

And he said something like, yeah, how are those golf games or something? And Trent hit him with like the most generic golfer line about, you know, any given day I could suck. And Obama almost passed out. I had him laughing. He had him laughing. He was dying laughing at Trent's comment. That was like any old man dad joke comment about golf.

I don't remember exactly what you said, Tripp. Yeah, I don't even. It's the effect of just sucking at golf, and he loved it. He loved it. We've had, yeah, a couple runs into presidents, which is pretty. How about you? You got to be, like, what are you good presidents? I was going to tell that story the same year you couldn't get the handshake done.

I was playing with Cam Young, and when we were walking to the T, obviously, we'd been, you know, gone over the protocol. The presidents are out there. They're probably going to come up to you, make sure you do everything. And we're walking out, and he goes, have you ever met either one of them? And I go, yeah, I've met George W a bunch of times. And he goes, oh, cool. And then we walk out. And right when we step out, he goes, come here, you old redneck.

George W. To me, gives me a big bear hug. And Cam's like, oh, yeah, like, you've really met him before. That's incredible. When I was, when we won the national championship of Georgia for golf, we went all the spring sports that won national championship went to the White House. And you stood, like, in. How many spring sports you guys have won national?

No, across the country. So every sport. I was like, Jesus, George. There's like 16 teams there. And there's like surfing and volleyball and whatever else, George W. Bush. And so there's a bunch of people there. We're all spread out along the White House with our team. And he comes in, takes a picture with each team, says what's up.

Very informal two seconds, right? Yeah. But then they were like, all right, all the captains of the team are going to go with the president to the Oval Office and wait for the ceremony in the Rose Garden. So it was just me and 15 other. people and him in the Oval Office just chilling for like 45 minutes. Wow. And he was just hanging out, telling us stories.

He had just fallen off his bike in France, and he was laughing about dumb he is that he was biking, can't even ride a bike. And he's telling all these great stories. Oh, real. That's how. 2006, probably. 2005 is when we won. Wow.

I don't know if we went that, like, right after it because you don't win the national championship until May. Incredible. Yeah. Man, that's really good. And then we walked out with him and we stood on the stage. And you know, you got to give the president a gift if you go. So we all had our gifts lined up.

Would you give them? We gave him a golf bag with 43 on it. Is that like 43? I don't know if you have to get the president a gift. Yeah, if you're going there for something, you take them a gift. Interesting. Wow. I don't think we brought him anything when we went.

To the White House? Yeah. That's why you didn't get invited back. Might be. That's like COVID times. They don't want people to bring us from them. Should have taken a mask. You got to give him a gift day.

That feels a little like North Korea-esque. I don't think he tells you you have to give a gift. I think it's true. Ritual. Yeah, true. It is good. All the rituals around just D.C., everything about that world is very, very cool to me. I like that, too.

I agree with that. Yeah, that's like the... That's why they have museums when they're done. That's where they put all the stuff up and all the different things. I don't think our Georgia golf team bag. I don't think it's in a museum, but no. I'm sure all the cool shit that he's gotten along. on the ways in there.

It is very cool. Like, if you've ever heard him talk about, like the amount of gifts that a president actually has is insanity. Like the sickest stuff you can imagine. Well, think about it. Like the president's coming this week to the U.S. What is he going to bring? Right.

Yeah, right, right. Something that's going to be a piece of the great wall. Yeah, something. Who knows? Like, what do you get? Rip a stone off of there. Let's go to D.C. He's the first stone.

Got this on my way, dude. Yeah. Wow. that would be a nice lineup of items. Yeah. Just throw that on eBay. I have a grievance for our hotel that we're staying in here in Schaumburg. Are you at the same one we're at?

Maybe. I don't want to name names because I don't want to get anyone in trouble. But listen to how crazy this is what this guy did to me. All right, walk into the Schaumburg Hotel. The guy greets me at the front desk. Hey, how are you doing? Doing well. He checks me in.

I need your card. You need a credit card. All right, everything's going smooth. And then he asked me a question I've never been asked before. He goes, are you okay staying on a higher floor? And I said, sure. He goes, is the sixth floor sound good to you? I said, no problem.

I start to laugh. I'm like, no problem. That matter. Just give me one. Just give me one. I'm ready to go to bed. I love a top floor anyway because I get very annoyed at people stomping around above me. Right.

It's one of the things that just makes my blood boil for really no reason. Okay, Karen. All right. No, I know. It's just like, I don't do anything about it. I just stew in my room. God damn what I wish I'd stop. Just sit out.

Sit out. That's what I want to say. Sit down. I sit down. I sit down. I sit down. And when I'm in a hotel room, even in my apartment,

I'm mostly sitting because I have, I'm respectful to people around me. Sorry, go, keep going. So he goes, yeah, you're okay to stay on top floor, has a six floor.

I said, no problem. This is all very strange. I can just let me get this kick. Let me get this card and go. Hands me the card. Hey, breakfast tomorrow, 7.30.

Everything's going the way. Every interaction at a hotel's ever gone. I take three steps away. And he goes, by the way, elevator's broken today. so you're going to need to take the steps, which is all the way over there on the right side

of the hotel. And I literally looked around and I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? You just, we just did a whole thing. You just talked me into that? We did a whole thing about the top floor, which I've never had a conversation about.

And then you say I have to take the steps. He saw me with a golf bag. I had all these bags on me. I'm like, so now I asked him. I said, how do I get to the top floor? He goes, well, the steps are right there or you can wait until they're fixed, which might be in a couple hours.

Oh, my. I'm like, if we're going to have a conversation about levels, why wouldn't that be the first thing you brought up where you're like, hey, do you want to stay on level one because the elevators are broken? Should have been the only thing brought up. Right. It's got to be the first thing.

I feel like it was in a curbinger enthusiasm episode. He got you. I was going to say, I think he needed to get rid of top. Oh, he's trying to get rid of those rooms. He came out 30 minutes before then and said, we got to get people on the sixth floor.

We got to get these people up there. Oh, fucking guy. I was so out of breath when I got up to that six floor. Did you drag him all at once? Oh, like Mincy. style.

Just making as much noise as I possibly could. I was huffing and puffing and puffing past that guy. Wow. It was crazy. It's reminiscent of those videos you'll see. I think the guys, what's that course? Hermitives, they'll always do those pro-shot videos. And they'll be like, they'll take your money for your tea time.

And then right when you give them your card, they go, by the way, the greens are punched. It's like it's in slow motion. Then they go, as they're hitting pay and you don't get to, you get no refund. Carpath only today. Carpath only, bang. I'm not playing. No. It's so good.

As they're hitting process, like, it's carpath only. Yeah, he's like, you know. That guy burned you. Oh, my God. It sucked. So I'll have you to work today though, which is nice. It did, yeah. You're back in action.

Back in action. You don't have to drag him down in T's style. No, thank God. How about that guy? How about that guy? Why wouldn't Mincey just pick that bag up? I don't know. That has to be the bit, right?

I know that everyone says. You're pretty in tune with that, kids? You follow the Mincey stuff? I just followed this weekend because it was every five seconds on my feed. You can't miss it. Couldn't miss it. No. It's so funny.

But then I got so funny. I got so into it. I was like, I can't wait to see what idiot shit he does next. So it is good content because it had me suckered in. And I don't know. It's phenomenal. I mean, you had it up close and personal in Arizona. I had a whole night with him.

He stayed two days, really. He stayed at my house. he's a mess but he's like yeah I don't know but then is that math thing real that I saw today

where he's just banging all these math questions that you know you could like that right that's what I'm asking is real I think that's right I think it is real

yeah no I yeah it's right too real yeah yeah that's like that's further confirmation kind of rain man

on that's that's right yeah no I mean the whole thing's incredible it's just I don't know you know Tate is hell of a guy for being able to put up with it.

Number one, and then also to be able to tell that story. Because I think we've all, we've all been in situations, I mean, maybe not we've all. I've personally been in situations where it was my job to,

like, cover Dave on a phone and, like, really break down certain events. I went to Super Bowls with them. But those are different because I was filming and then basically just posting videos from his account with really no caption, just being like, this is us at a crazy event, look at all the crazy stuff that's happening to us.

He ended up getting dragged out of the Super Bowl, which was obviously a huge moment. but like I wasn't curating. Yeah, I filmed that one, but I wasn't curating like storylines from an account. The fact that he's doing all that stuff, not missing a moment, right? Like, think about all the little intricate moments that Mincy's finding himself in. And you got to have a, you have to put your brain in the position where you're thinking of a Ohio's Tate is standing there with a phone. Right.

Filming it in his bed. He's laying down. He's filming him walking into the bathroom every moment. And he has to come up with a funny. And he's writing long posts about it. Right. Contacts. Put a bunch of contacts.

He's got to be getting paid off. this stuff, by the way. Like, Twitter pays you pretty good now for, uh, like big interactions. And he's doing like 164 million impressions a week. Yeah. With Mincy. It's nuts. Pretty good. It is really good what he's doing. It's crazy that like, and it is mincy, but it's nuts that like he's even, I guess it's his whole job, but that he's okay with even that someone's just filming him 24-7 basically. He's the Truman show. Yeah. And that he doesn't, the behavior doesn't change. No, right. That's the thing where It's like if anybody else or just like if you're whatever, like you get in film like you probably act a little differently. Mincy just like full steam ahead, man.

Yep. The whole time. My favorite ones are when he goes, there's not for the phone and that like whatever he says to Mincy in those moments of the, whatever he says to Ohio State in those moments are the best. Yeah. He puts the phone like right here. He's like I think the first thing we should do. Like he talks about what the video should be and take keeps those in. Does he not watch these videos back?

I think he blocks. So I think one of the stipulations is. yeah he's blocked from seeing the videos on Twitter so Tate blocked him basically so yeah so Mincey's incapable of seeing what goes out that makes sense because I'm like this doesn't really add up

because I would just watch this video and go Right so Mensey truly should I told you not This say all right right A normal person that would you would get to that point Quickly you'd be a rigged Why do you put out I just told you not to film that Why I'm not speaking to you anymore We're done doing this

It's so good. It's so good. All right. President's Cup week. We're here at Schaumburg Golf Club. Is that what's called? Golf Club? Actually, awesome spot. We played three holes today.

We did some stuff with performance golf, which was incredible. We went out there and got lessons for like 30 minutes each, 15, 30 minutes each. Went out, played three holes. Solid real time. So people will see all that footage. But we got to see the course for a little bit. We're about to do a hole in one event here. There's a public golf facility.

It's a municipal that the city of Seanberg, for and it's sick i mean it's in beautiful shape there's an aeration a couple weeks ago so outside of like some spots you might see some bumps the layout the green or the the bunkering the the fairways look green and luscious so i have to imagine medita which is not far from here is also in great shape because this place is popping and it's a mutiny so uh really cool spot um president's cup this week uh you know we saw a little bit of uh the u s team was doing karaoke for the rookies on Monday night. I don't know if you guys saw any of that.

Is that a staple? You guys do that all the time? Yeah, rookie staple. Rookies have to have to sing a song in front of the team. That's kind of the welcome party. Remember when we had Jackson Coveman on, I told him to start practicing and sing it. I heard that. And none of y'all got it, which I love.

Right. Not only the people on inside got it. What song did you have to sing? I think I sang Return of the Mac. Wow. That's a really? Yeah. That's a really good one.

It's easy. catchy. You want people to join in. Did they join in? Yeah. The problem is you get like, I remember Sahith did like a rap song I'd never heard of. There's something in the boat.

I'm on a boat. Yeah, that one. I never heard it. So I couldn't really get into it. But other people did. And I'm imagining as I get older and these kids get younger. I won't know the song. That's true.

You really want to get the crowd into it. For sure. You would love that. You love that. You love that. Russ Henley sang Wagon Wheel. And he plays guitar. So he brought his guitar and did it.

Oh. And so then everybody's jamming, right? Yeah. Everybody sings that song when it comes on. That's a good choice. Yeah. Really gets everybody going. That's another example of a song that's been used, right?

You think of Darius record, Wacklewagon Wheel, but he's not the original. No. That's a cold medicine show. I know. I don't even know if I want to say this on a public record because of how nasty it's been getting on social media. But this Stella Lefty girl with the Boston song and how she's stolen songs from all these different artists. Have you seen any of this? No.

But I have to play that song all the time for my kids. Is that not her original song? It is, but she took melodies from other artists, including our guy Noah Khan. There's been, like, a whole thing. And everyone's saying, like, she didn't give enough credit. But my point was, like, there's only so many melodies in the world, right? Everyone stills everybody. And there's a lot of songs that we, as, like, a culture basically are, like, this is, like,

you just think of Darius Rucker as singing that song, but in reality, someone else wrote that song. And, like, it's not the same idea, but it kind of is because, like, there's only so many songs out there, someone's going to make something more popular than the other person at the end of the day anyway. I think it's a question of credit. That's right. Where, like, if you credit the right people and the right channels, people don't care. Where does the internet seem to be on this? They hate her.

They hate her. Yeah. Because I, and I've seen some TikToks and I don't know what's real and what's not anymore, but it seems like a lot. There was like stuff that melodies and just song construction that was taken. And I don't think any credit or any credit was given. So, like, it's gotten pretty ugly out there. gotten ugly. I don't know. I haven't seen that side of it. I, yeah, I don't really look into it. Hasn't come across your desk, that one hasn't come across my desk. So it's all bluegrass. So if you're not a bluegrass fan, you probably never heard of these people. Or just get really drunk. Yeah. Or you just hang out outside with me all day. So gates open at five on Friday night. And we got a local band. We always start with local band both days,

Bodega Cats from Augusta. Then we have Shadowgrass. Then we have Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country. He's so good. I know. He's very good. And then we have the infamous of string dusters as the headline on Friday night.

Amazing. And then Saturday we go all day from 12 until 11 plus an encore. Sibling string bed will start us off. And then we have a Grateful Dead tribute band called Grass is Dead. And then I got these guys the gringoes from Athens, Georgia, because I found them on Instagram. And they did a sick cover of Pink Floyd. And I told my music promoter we had to get them at my concert.

Then we had Starboro, which is a. mixture of future birds and sous string band. Okay. Future birds are awesome. Future birds are great. 2026 brand new. And then your Yonder Mountain after them. Andy Frasco in the U.N.

And then the whole headliner is lettuce. Which you can use all those infers on lettuce and why they're bluegrass band. Sure. You may connect a couple dots there. People go online and get tickets. middle of town bring your golf cart bring your kids we got a full kids zone bounce houses it's all day vendors man it's sick you go on anytime saturday give a little spiel i have to do quite a few spills you know i just thank most of the people for supporting us but i introduced a couple of the bands and then whenever you usually have something that goes awry yes uh that i have to get up there last year i had to get up there at like six a a lady in her mid-60s had eaten a weed gummy for the first time in her wife decided to try weed and my security founder leaned against her car and she was totally fine health wise that's why i bring it up but she didn't know what was going on and so i had to go on stage and see if her friends were there and buddy the look there's 2,500 people out there looking at me and i'm like

does anybody know i don't remember her name peg and they all just stared at me and i was like all right can everybody hear me raise your hand and all the hippies raise their hands smile I was like, does anybody know Peg? And nobody says anything. I go, good luck, Peg. And I go out and off the stage and my partner was like, is that how you ended that? I was like, what else was I supposed to do? I'm out of options.

Nobody knows. Meet Peg at the ticket counter or guess you don't have any friends, Pegg. You're going to need about four hours and then she'll get home five. Yeah, she'll be fine. The police officer was like, dude, I checked all her vital. She's totally fine. I don't know why she's freaking out. It's like, because she's stoned.

First time ever. She's going to die. That guy in the back is not real. But it's big time. We're looking forward to it. It's next weekend. So get home from the President's Cup. We start installing on Wednesday.

A bunch of my friends come in town. We play golf. And a bunch of just, is there anything better and hanging out in a field all day? We got vendors from all over, hippie vendors and food trucks. And just people having the time of their life. people driving up on golf carts. You can go home and come back.

It's a load of fun. Nothing more fun really than just hanging out all day, period. And we got, you know, Saturday college football. So in all the tents, we have TVs. You sit on couches and watch, you know, Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia fans. They all sit there and watch their game in between. Damn. What a festival.

I'll run around with, like, my headset on, and people will run into me. Like, you know, once 5 o'clock comes around Saturday, I'm kind of, I'm pretty much done with the logistics and it's like dude we've been calling you on the radio for an hour i'm like dude i'm done if it doesn't work from now it's just on y'all you knew this was coming yeah this is what i do it's saying you run a festival yeah like not easy than to do it's so fun man we're gonna get punk punk there one day that would be unbelievable you guys should play next year we always thought like every year we do mostly bluegrass but we throw a mix in and like middle of the day on saturday to throw people offers anyway everyone knows that yeah it doesn't

matter. So we'll do like two or three bluegrass bands and we'll throw a random band in so everybody just starts like, what was that? Yeah. Yeah. And then we go back to bluegrass. All right. Let's get to the pairings. USA. First fortune. I was checking that right when you went into my festival. I want to make sure because I'm screwed up that we're on central time. I thought I saw 4.30. Those could be really good timing-wise that you're going to do this.

So yesterday we saw the first group was Jackson Coyvan, Justin Thomas, and then Bridgman and Russ Henley. Those four were all kind of out there together. Okay. Which would be interesting with Bridgman and Henley because that's rolling the rock. uh in that group which kiz did say um earlier on the show he was like if i were uh uh captain sneds i would think about throwing out bridgman in the first group every single day because making putts kills everybody and we went through all that for like half the show yeah um so the fact that he you know again these are just how they did a fucking practice round so who know yeah would be interesting

to see if he kind of took that advice or if that's the same kind of thinking that he had um we saw scotty and sam burns that's a classic we saw zander at can't lay that's a classic. Then we saw Morikawa and Chris Godderup out there. Some interesting notes about Kyle Morikawa. Kalamakaa is one of the most shuffled players in terms of multiple partners of all time on Team USA. Kalamurakao has played

14 partner matches in Team USA history. He's played with eight different partners. What makes that the case? Great question. We'll have to ask his about that. I don't know if he has any thoughts on them. Maybe it could just be. He hasn't just found a lock. He hasn't found anybody to win with you. yet. Yeah.

But to compare that, right, Jordan Spieth on the other end of the spectrum, Spieth has played 32 matches with a partner and only played with five different partner. Interesting. So, Colin's played a third of that, and he's played with, you know, about twice as many partners. So it's just, it's interesting with Colin. What would you attribute any of that to, kids?

I don't think he's ever really gotten on a run with a guy that's made a bunch of teams where they've won that you saw, like, the Jordan Speed, Patrick Reed thing, the Scotty Scheper, Sam Burns thing, where it just feels like it fits. He's never been like, hey, Xander Schaftly and Collimorkeau have played six matches together and won four of them. They're a pretty good matchup. Right.

He just continues to, like, not have a great success with anybody over and over again. And he's just such a steady player that I don't think anything... When you think about Collinor Calamor Cala, nothing, like, blows your head off about what he does, right? He drives it pretty good, he irons are great, chips are pretty good, puts are great. you kind of need one or the other in a team match to really excel, right? And if you just go along with four birdies and two bogeys and best ball, which works out okay over the course of four days, you're probably going to get smashed in a team event.

Where they have loaded it with, like, explosiveness, where the, like, inconsistency can get washed out by four ball. That's right. That's right. Whereas, like, he's consistent. Yeah, he's more of an alt-shot guy for me, but his putting just never has been consistent enough going back to the putting that I've watched, even at Beth Page, I walk with them in the first couple of matches.

They don't make any of the mid-range putts that are the huge momentum swings in team matches. It just never seems to make those, and it looks like he's uncomfortable putting in the team matches that I've followed him. It's funny, I always think about that, about our current scramble team with me, Frankie, and Trent.

We don't have one guy that can just pound the occasional drive, 3.30. No. And when we play scramble matches, it's like, yeah, we're usually in a pretty good spot, but we hit it out there. Like, Frankie, it's a good one he hits at the further side. of us, but, like, he'll let it out there

280 or something. And, like, we're just, like, make an easy pars as a scramble team. It's true. No, dude, you need some guy. You can hit two shots out of bounds. You need one guy to hit one fucking a mile down there, even if it's in the right rough, and we've never had that. So, uh, that's interesting to say

that. And you're right. It could just be a little bit unluckiness to where he's like, just hasn't caught fire with a guy where it's like, you know, Spieth went with, obviously him and Captain America had their run. And then he jumped over to J.T. And him and J.T. were like, incredible for a while with speed. And so, like, of course he's only had a few partners of all time because he had those really hot runs

it's funny like i would look at another guy like tiger had i feel like a million different partners where it was like they just never could quite figure i know he had the he had a little stretch where he was with stricker for a while yeah and like a couple different guys but it's it's funny how certain guys are hard to pair up almost yeah well you look at that and it's you think about who tiger in my brain immediately goes to his two best partners are jim furek or steve strick and if you think of their games they're complete opposite stricker and furic are more like Colin Morcala, where I feel like Tiger's more like a explosive type of guy. Yeah.

I feel like Colin Moracow needs, I know he can't play for us, but a Dustin Johnson type of guy that might make nine birdies, four doubles in a par. And Colin's just going to be there hanging out, right? And those two doubles, he's there. He's probably might throw a couple of birdies in on those holes. And that's the type of player he needs in a four-ball situation. And an alternate shot, you've got to make putts because you just don't get in a rhythm putting.

and that's the hardest part in alternate shot. You may go seven holes without hitting a put. I mean, you hit all the approach shots, and your partner either makes it or lags it up there, and they give it to you, and now suddenly you've got a nine-footer to tie the hole, and you haven't hit a putt in an hour and a half, and you've got to do it,

and guys that don't have a ton of confidence with their putter don't make those putts. Right, and that's the difference. Yeah. They came out with the pairing. Wow. I was trying to see when it came out, and I got them, and I was like, I'm not going to look through them.

Because I didn't know if you were playing a game or not. No, I wasn't. I wasn't. I was truly going. I did the outline this morning. I was doing it off of their practice round. Yeah, they're out. Did you say JT and Jackson Coyvin play together?

Is that with the early group? That was just, that was from a practice round Saturday. It is. Justin Thomas and Coyvin versus Connors and Nico Echavaria. Wow. Wyndham Clark and Colin Moracawa. Hey.

Okay. Versus Fox and Scott. Got her up in Cantlay. Which I like that one. That's kind of like two opposites right there. Ying Yang. I was just talking about. Versus Tom Kim and Siwu.

Cam Young and Xander Shafley versus Hideki and His Sassuni. It's His Sasuni. And Skye Shephler and Burns versus Minmoo Lee and Sanjay. Wow, that's a great team. So interesting. So with all that Morikawa talk we just had, they put him with Goderup. Is that what you said? Right?

In Goddraub. No, no, no, no. Otter up and Cantlay. I'm sorry. Wyndham Clark. Wyndham is a guy that can make a million birdies. A million birdies. And hit some horrible shots and make some doubles.

Yeah. You know, like not horrible, but for that level. Sure. That's, that's cool. You just talked about that, and then they hit you with the explosive. JT. and Coyvin's an interesting one. I, yeah.

Is that a lot of firepower? Just a lot of young. I mean, I know J.T.'s not the youngest guy anymore. He still feels young with his energy, right? He does, yeah. I think he's probably my age. He's like 33? JT.

Probably exactly my age. That's probably right. I think that's about right. All right. This is all the good game to play. Who the four guys sitting without looking at your phones. Oh. Russell?

Russell's sitting. Russell's sitting. Come on, Trim. Bridgman. Bridgman is sitting. That's the American side. They'll be going out as an alt-shot pairing together on Friday. Yeah.

Bazaden Hoot is out. Wow. Oh, dude. This golf podcast right here. I like, yeah, is the J.T. Coivin thing? Is that, like, take the young guy under your wing? Supposedly they've been playing a ton of golf together in Florida. Yes, he said that on our pod.

Yeah. He said he's been playing at Panther. I love that pairing, but it could be anything. Wow. Now I'm piecing it together. Coivin's stats are unbelievable, just in the six or eight starts that he played. I mean, top 25 and basically every stat. We just did that whole performance golf thing today where we got a lesson,

like you try and get into the right position. I just think about a guy like Jackson Coyven, if someone tried to put me in a position that he's in, I would like break into the 9-5 pieces. I would never be able to hit the golf ball. No doubt. I think that's correct. He's going to be, I hope he has a really successful President's Cup.

Not only just for American pride and wanting them to win, but for him personally, he could be a superstar for this American team. You wanted this to be a launching pad. It's fun having a potential, like, young gun on the U.S. team. Oh, my Goddor-ups that guy too. Yeah. We wanted Goddard up on the Ryder Cup team. We did.

And this is his chance. Yeah. Go get it. They're throwing you out there in the first match. Go. Two rookies for the U.S. going out. Bridgman sitting on the sidelines. Is that going to be a first one?

The guy I told you would go out first in the first group sitting in the sidelines. You did golf podcast. How do you know he's going out first? You have the time? No, no. Yeah, we got out. No, Bridgman's not going out. No, I thought you said got her up.

He's going out last. Match five with Cantlay against Tom Kim and Siwu Kim. Can't lay and God her up. Yeah. I also think, though, can't lay. Scotty and Sam are going on first. Canlay is sort of opposite of everyone, right? And you could like, and he doesn't, he seems to not care.

He seems like impervious to. He doesn't. He doesn't. with the boys, right? No, I think he's just like just an obvious fact. I think he's just one of the guy. Can't way? Yeah.

He hangs. He does? He doesn't. He's just different. Yeah. It's different. Like an introvert? Yeah, he's introvert.

Total introvert. Yeah. I think he's not the worst thing to have on a team. You know some guys that just don't get too high, don't get too low. But his game play too matches that in the pre in the team events where he's just been steady, solid, hotless pat out there doing his thing. And it's like you can pair him with anybody. Right. Like when the him and Xander were on that run,

it was like they would just go out there and just like dismember somebody slowly and emotionless. Yep. And it was like that works. Yep. Wasn't in Montreal that they went out, we sent them out first on Friday when we went 0 and 5? And I swear I think they lost on the 11th hole or 12th hole. In fact,

I remember Sned's on the radio saying, I told them just to go ahead and kick it in. Like we've got a long day tomorrow. You're already seven down with eight to go. Let's just get this over with. Just quit. Just be done with us. one because we don't need to waste any more energy here.

Right. And then he made that huge put on Saturday night in the dark, if you all recall. Yeah. Because we had a rain delay or a fog delay or something on Saturday. And it was pitch black dark and he made a birdie putt to win the match to basically put the whole cup in our hands on Saturday night. Is the Sky Schepler Sam Burns pairing one that is like a shoe in obvious choice at this point? Like, do we think that they are as successful as?

Doesn't it feel like? We hype them up more than their actual results? Yeah, they don't have great results. I mean? Yeah, is it more based on, like, a friendship? There's got to be another guy that Scott Schephyl can play with that. He might get more wins around. I thought him and Russell were a great pairing in Montreal.

When I walked with them every match, they went three in one, I believe, in the four, maybe two and one. And then we threw them out there at the Ryder Cup, alternate shot the first day, and they told us that we had them on the wrong holes. And then they got their ass kicked. And then the second day they switched in all. alternate shot and they won. So maybe we were wrong the whole time. Yeah, I mean, Frankie, I don't know, Scotty and Sam are 03 and 1 all the time.

So what are you talking about? Yeah. Wow. Well, I remember in Charlotte, does it have the Charlotte one up? It says, 2002, that was Charlotte. Four ball, they tied against Sungay and Sebastian Munoz. But they were like 11 under and tied. Okay.

So sometimes those are misleading because I remember being in the team room and he's like, what, y'all shoot kids? And we shot like seven or eight and tied. and they said we shot 12 and we tied. And didn't he get torched by Rose this year, the Ryder Cup? He played well, Scotty. Yeah, but he won.

That wasn't with Burns. He won a singles match on, that was with Fleetwood. Rose and Fleetwood beat him like a red-headed stepchild. Rose and Fleetwood were on stop. Those guys were. Yeah, I mean, 03 and 1 is like, you know, we act like, you know, that's one of our,

premier pairings. Premier pairings, like they've never gotten a win. It's all sorts of, it's one of those where, like, you could also argue we need to force that because that needs to be one of our premier parents. Right. Right. Just because we're going to start winning these things.

I don't know. At some point, like, if we're going to start winning these things, like, those guys got to win as cheap. Yeah. And a larger point on Scotty is like,

we need him to have like a performance where it's like, that's the Scotty we need in team events. We haven't really gotten that. So Sam Burns drive by, say, I go, tell Scott to text me. Like a little bitch.

And he's like, send him an email. He's just grow up with it. We saw a couple of the guys drive by yesterday. They seemed like they were in good spirit. Yeah. Laughing. Having a good time.

Just so that's the difference for me between President's Cup and Rider Cup. Like, you know, Goddor Up was chilling in the Barstle office and Sky Schaeffer was talking about getting arrested in a hotel room with PFT and Big Cat yesterday. Like, like, Ryder Cup week, you guys were locked down the Garden City Hotel. Like there was, they built an extra wall around the Garden City Hotel so no one can get in. Just different. Yeah. I agree. Guys are laughing.

And they're also, you know, there was no one there yesterday, which is different than when you walk into the lines than a Beth page. It's just that everything's kind of heightened. But yeah. Big favorites. So you're just kind of like. Big favorites. Yeah.

They haven't played together since 2003. Okay. As a team. They went, they lost to Hadeki and Tom Kim and Foresums in 2022. They lost both matches. They played in the 2020s. That was in Rome. Yeah.

Yeah. 23 and then yeah last year's rider cup in the prior years presidents cup they did not get bared together so yeah a little rekindling so they're trying to do a little yeah it sounds like they're trying to do a little rekindle total new stat guys too we've had the same stat guys for four or five runs of these cups and now we have brand brought in his personal stat guy and then can't think of the other guy from kentucky's name off the top of my head but new new stateticians for team USA in this president's cup then the last five runs of of cup teams.

Really? Yeah. Wow. How do you feel about that? Well, I haven't ever worked with either two of the guys they hired, so I was, I'm interested to see how it works out. Is that two guys getting fired before? Is that just like a non-renewal?

You know what I mean? I think the previous stat guys were hired by the PG of America, and then each President's Cup captain took them with them because they were comfortable with them. They had used them in other team events. but I obviously I don't think anybody was super blown away by the work at Bethpage so they went out and looked and shopped god what is a dude's name from Kentucky is like cock something it is funny because it's like the in terms of the stats and the really the stats are applied to like pairings and matchups right because once you just send people out for singles there's no like

not pair this guy with putting it's just you just have to play your game against another person of the other team and like singles we dominate and the team stuff we get our dicks kicked out that's right if I could see why the stats people

you guys are out at some point and I know you guys Hunter Stewart is his name I couldn't think of me he works with a bunch of guys on tour yeah on their personal games and that's what you want is the problem that I always had with the stat guys

is they didn't know any of the players on a personal level they weren't out there every week like Hortsey Snids guy has 10 players and Hunter Stewart has 10 players. You probably got guys on the team. So you know the guys on a personal level. So it's easier for relationships, personalities, all those things. You understand players way more than just looking at a computer screen.

Right. Right. It's interesting, man. Got this stuff. The team part of golf is just when we do this once a year and it's like we throw all this stats, everything into it. We do it for four days of golf out of the entire year. And then like next week these guys will be playing.

He has it on a trailer, just a long trailer. Time out. Let's back this up so people know. This is a guy who has a long. A large semi-trailer truck. It's not a semi. He just drives like a duly pickup truck with a big trailer on it. And tour players would like buy rent space on the truck.

And like my clubs, if I finished that Colonial and we're playing at Memorial the next week, I just thought on that trailer so I didn't have to fly with them. And they would be in my locker on Monday when I got to the course. What a great idea. through the night.

He got there and then the staff at the new club would always help him unload. And they would like, oh, Kisner's clubs put them by my locker with my bin. And then Brittany would pull up and drop me off to go practice. And I'd throw the bin in the car with all the kids' toys and books and soaps and sound machines and all the shit you have to travel with.
