Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, 4Play listeners, you can find us every Tuesday and Thursday on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. Phenomenal interview, Pat Perez. We had him on several years ago. We had him back on this time with the whole crew. He appears on the screen. He's got the hair, the slick back. He's got a glass of Vino in his hand.
Starting point is 00:00:23 He's got a ton of energy. And boy, did he just tell story after story after story about Michael George? Jordan, Parsons with PXG, how he turned pro, Tiger. He's been playing Tiger's entire life. They're like four months apart in terms of age. Boys, this was one of our best interviews I think we've ever done. You think of Pat Perez and you think of him being this legendary, like, oh, he doesn't give a shit type of attitude.
Starting point is 00:00:48 He's got the long hair, like you said. He's rocking the cement fours on the golf course. Like, who is this character? He's racking up $10,000 tabs in Vegas. He's sponsored by MGM. Everything about him is just hilarious. and he doesn't look like a pro in any aspect. And then you talk to him and you still can't believe
Starting point is 00:01:04 it's professional golfer. He's dropping at bombs. He's like, I don't give a shit about these people. My coaches, the stories he has about like college coaches, like Reg said, Michael Jordan,
Starting point is 00:01:14 it's, I wish we could have talked to him for six days. I want him to be my best friend. I think Lurch at the end was like, I wish he was my dad. I don't need, like, he's too wild for me to be my, like,
Starting point is 00:01:23 I need him to be my best friend. I want to go on like bachelor parties with him. I want him to like, I want to be my older brother. That's who I want him to be. Yeah. Yeah, he also had phenomenal perspective. We were talking to about paychecks, like, what makes it worth it for you either week?
Starting point is 00:01:38 And he just went into this just great sort of like reflective response about like, no paycheck will ever not be enough for me. Like I'm grateful for every dollar that I'm able to get playing. Also, it was like he's this cool wild man, but he also just had a great head on his shoulders, was super content and happy in his own skin and who he is and where he is in life. and he talked a ton about how he got there. And again, Michael Jordan plays into that. So it was phenomenal.
Starting point is 00:02:04 It was just a really, really good interview. So we determined that we really don't want to waste too much time. We got a few things to get to very quickly. And then we're just going to hit you. We talked to him for about a full hour. Pat Perez, he had just come from Colonial to the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head at Harbor Town. And we talked to him there. So that interview is coming up very shortly.
