Hey, 4Play listeners, you can find us every Tuesday and Thursday on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or YouTube.
Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music.
We're coming off the Workday charity, Kalamora Kawa, Justin Thomas.
We got a lot to talk about on that front.
We have a whole squad.
We got Frankie.
We got Trent.
We got Lurch.
We are, again, produced by two warriors in the industry.
Jake Bass, Brendan Jones.
Ebug, as he's known, by the way, is in a situation where all the basketball classics,
he introduces himself like hey hello I'm Brendan and everyone's like that's great
whatever and then later they found out he's ebug and they're like oh fuck your ebug you should
said that so he's kind of where lurch was for a while where he's not I'm still there really there
with his nickname you know he's he's always kind of caught in between not loving the nickname
thing so people look at me like is he going to be bigger what is that lurch I'm not sure
and then they hear me talk and they're like oh that's definitely him and then they look at me
weirdly and I'm like what's up man I'm Ben and they're like no you're lurch and I'm like well yeah whatever
you want to call me it's all good uh you hate the name bog I feel you no it's just like that you know
I'm not going to go up to someone be like what's up man I'm lurch it's just I don't know it sounds weird
coming out off the time yeah maybe it's I guess it's getting more normal every day I get it to a
degree anyways the point being air never should grow back lurch like you took you had that horrible
haircut and now it's just never grown back it's actually you don't think it's
I think it's a pretty good growth.
It's a weird lighting, I think, but...
It's like you made one bad haircut,
and you're never going to recover from it.
Usually, within two or three weeks,
like it starts filling out,
you still have that bad line in the front,
like...
Very uneven.
Oh, for sure.
So it's not a good cut,
but it's definitely growing.
There's positives.
It's growing back,
but it's at one length is the issue,
because I cut it down all on the same length.
So it's fine when it's short,
but when it's like a month thin,
and it's all the same.
same length that's a bad cut. Yeah, your hair also like you have such good growth, which is
which is very frustrating, that it all grows fast at the same time, right? Like when people get into
the 30s, it's like grows in certain spots faster. You have a little bit of definition.
Yours is just a helmet that just growing out like as one the whole guy. It's more of a hell of a
but the line in the front. You're right. It's so uneven. And it's very distinguished with your
short situation. But you almost need to do, you almost
need to do a hard reset where you just shave it all the way down and then you got to grow it out again
because it's the only way you're going to get even again no no no the way i get even is i go to professional
and i say just you know get it even and then they do it where they trim the sides lightly and then
we're golden you don't want to shave it down because then you're going to end up with that fucking tan
line like rigs has on his head no dude i got the steward fucking sink there's nothing
there's nothing i can do it i don't know it's a vicious cycle because if i'm
I mean, you got to have a hat on.
You're going to get burned over your goddamn head.
And it's like you're trying to put sun in your eyes, hat.
There's a reason to wear hats.
But like you go one round with the hat on the whole time,
and you just have the Stewart's Sink, basically.
You can't get rid of it.
So it's, I don't know, it looks ridiculous.
There's really nothing you can say about it.
Anyways, we're not here to talk about any of that.
We're not here to talk.
We're not a haircut podcast.
We're not a, you know, we're not a hairstyle podcast.
A hockey podcast.
We're definitely a hobby podcast.
Elias Seroken just sign with the Islanders.
Best goalie in the world.
That's a fact.
Not a hockey podcast.
We're definitely, that's just not what we are.
But we are golf podcasts.
We have a golf drink called Transfusion.
We want to shout out Owens Mixers.
It's now available in retail.
There's a store locator on Owensmixers.com.
So a lot of folks, hey, I love the transfusion.
I heard it's really delicious.
Your can looks cool as hell.
Your donkey commercial is very funny.
How do I get the transfusion?
Go to Owensmixtures.com.
There's a little store locator on there.
You can find exactly how you can get your little
pause on the Owens transfusion, the Barstall Transfusion by Owens.
You can also just go to store.
Dot Barstoresports.com, bring the Owens mixer, order the Owens mixer right to your
doorstep, and you're going to have it.
You're going to have the Barstall transfusion.
I got one right here.
I got this can and carry it with me all the time.
Positive, crazy rave reviews.
I got the, you know, the alcoholics, Marty and Dana.
They were drinking transfusions all day Friday out at Monarch Beach.
Absolutely obsessed with it, which is predictable.
It's very understandable.
because it's, um, it's transfereating me.
It's just fucking transfusionous.
Delicious.
And so anyway, it's go to Owensmixers.com, uh, go to the store locator, find out exactly
where it is or just go to store.
at barterfulsports.com and get it.
But we created our own drink.
The commercial, I think, I don't know how much we talked about the commercial.
The commercial is one of the funniest things I think we've ever done.
And we don't do scripted shit.
Like we, we, we, on this podcast, we just hit record.
We hit stop an hour and a half later.
And we just published it.
That's pretty much how we didn't buy it.
cast and that's how we do all of our video we just film the whole time you know uh ebug does a lot of the
mixing in of interviews and drone footage and that obviously enhances it but in terms of what you see
on the course we're not like nobody has any lines that they're scripting and even if we do we should
make fun of each other this was a scripted out fucking thing from our production team from our guys
who are very professional in terms of production in terms of video creation and we were like yeah
I think it's going to be so outrageous that it's going to be funny and I think it came out very funny
it's almost so awkward and and corny that it's really good right right like i think that was that was
like i guess the gist of it because it came out a little more corny and awkward than i remembered
it being and i think it just works like the music was funny the the the fucking donkey there uh we
couldn't say donkey so we said mule i don't know i think because in their actual logo it's a mule i
think that's what they're called it's a mule yeah man i think was i i don't know if anyone
and if a lot of people that are listening saw the video that I tweeted out.
But like, there's an old man.
We didn't talk about this old man.
There was an old man.
So we did this shoot on Pinehurst number one.
Yep.
Pines number one on like the third hole, right?
And there was a bunch of houses back there.
And there's definitely a little community where people live.
Mainly probably old people.
I don't know who lives in that community.
Anyway, all I know is that we stepped up to this tea
and this old man came sprinting in the form of an 85-year-old man sprinting.
He was chugging along, shuffling his feet.
Like a fast-trot.
Have you ever seen the races, like the fast-walk races, where you can't run,
you have to fast walk as fast as you can without running?
That's how he came up to us on the third hole.
It looked like an old 1920s video of like Times Square when everything was sped up.
Like, you know, I always talk about like that Babe Ruth era where he gets a home run
and he runs around.
And he hits it to right fail.
It's Babe Ruth with the 74th.
They just fucking the same voice and everything.
That was him walking up to this T-box.
He had no idea what was going on in this thing.
I bet you no one's ever done anything on Piner's number one right behind his house.
He couldn't believe there was this production.
He couldn't believe there was a mule.
And he had the biggest smile in his face.
He was taking pictures and all the stuff.
And I'm up there and they're like, all right, Frankie,
hit a bad shot.
Hit a bad drive now.
And I'm like, okay, I'm going to try and like rip low on it here.
And I absolutely top.
this thing almost kills the mule almost kills the lady because if it has any more speed on it
it just takes some it takes some bolt out and this guy just tosses the ball back to me honestly
describing it doesn't do it justice how funny it is because of this random old man it's i can't
believe that it didn't make the commercial i can't believe we couldn't i i forgot about to the
point where i like wanted a message rob the production guy and be like dude we need like a stop
down moment where i hit the shot and then this old man comes out of nowhere and just tosses the ball
back to me. The old man too. He had no idea how framing and like backgrounds were in videos. So he was
just thinks he's out of the way the whole time. And they're like no, no, you're just in like in the shot.
You're actually right in the middle of the shot. They had people moving. They had people moving like
our golf bags all over the place because you didn't want to be in the frame. And he's every time
without fail was standing there just like, oh, all these people are moving away. I wonder if I should
take the cue. But no, I'm just going to keep snapping pictures of this. Whatever. I'm not old man.
Like who knows what he did with those pictures?
Like what is,
they're just pictures of us and a bunch of production people.
I don't know what you do with those.
Oh,
he would walk right up next to our faces and just take pictures of us.
And we're like, yeah, is this creepy?
Are you, I don't know what this situation is,
but he was great.
And the commercial came out, like you said,
it was so corny, it was good, I think.
And people got a good laugh out of it.
That's what it came off to me.
It was like the staged corniness was laugh out,
funny. Like everything around that was so bad. It was so bad. But it was like you slamming your club,
like you're a six year old, like saying like bad shot. Then you start hitting good shots. It was just
corny through and through, but it was spectacular. So the internet, I'm constantly confused by the
internet. And all the tweets I got about the commercial were give Trent an Oscar, give these guys an
Oscar, give them all the awards to the point where now I just believe that they were being genuine.
I don't even think that they were kidding.
But now looking back on it, it is because it was so corny.
And the acting was so bad that they were like give these guys awards in jest.
But I'm just going to take them as sincere compliments.
I watched it and thought we did really well acting.
Like I again, I'm probably biased, but I was like, wow, that's.
I think any sort of reward to your acting skills is safe.
But I think it was very funny.
Hey, my ball!
Yeah, exactly.
That's me.
Over here.
That was my line.
The best part was we all did these lines like 30 times.
And to the point, it was so, I can't, I don't have that many different variations, man.
Like, I'm just a blog.
Yeah.
Yeah, the guy Rob, who was putting the whole thing together when he told me to do, hey, my ball,
he was like, really make your voice like squeaky.
And I was like, I've done this 10 times.
I've given you my entire range.
Hey, my ball.
Yeah.
And then you mocked him.
I did.
did a mock take because he was being so direct about being like, no, no, you basically sound like
a chipmunk. So I was like, hey, my ball. And I was convinced that they were going to use that
just so Rob could be like, fuck you, dude. You couldn't do it right. Yeah, there was a fake donkey leg
that was included in the whole thing, which was very, it just, it was uncomfortable when he
brought the thing out. Elwood, who is the donkey, seeing the,
leg. There are a lot of jokes being made about Elwood's relationship to the fake Elwood
legs. So the whole thing was very bizarre. But it's out there. So our drink is also out there.
That's a long way of saying Owens, we love you. Go check out Owensmixtures.com. Get the barstool
transfusion. A couple things. We have a women's line out now. So we do have an audience of women
who love our show who say, hey, you guys have all this other cool stuff that you put out for
men who you have very limited or essentially no options for women. So we finally put out a women's
line, barstool golf, women's line, Peter Malara, Dita's golf, go check that out. We're going to have
more coming out because clearly women love that. Dude, I got so many DMs about the women's line
that like, so my Instagram audience is very strange because I'm in the bachelor world where
I'm the luggage guy and I've been on the show and I live tweeted and all that. And then I'm on this
golf podcast and I put stuff up sometimes.
of our podcast and of new apparel,
and I put up an Insta Story of the new women's line,
and I got, I can't tell you how many DMs I got.
That people were just like,
girls were just like, this is amazing.
I've been waiting for this.
So there you go.
People are excited about it.
Long overdue.
So you can go check that out,
start out, varsuporforce.com.
We got a divot tool in there,
which is very cool,
the same guys that made our ball markers,
cool divot tool.
And then Pioneer 4,
travel show out.
People love it.
People are raving about how well it's done.
Huge credit to everyone, but especially eBug Frankie.
You work very, very hard on that, on the editing back and forth.
EBug's able to get the ear of Frankie, and then he goes all full psycho Frankie and sends
8 billion texts to EBug, and then EBug goes and edits, and they whip that whole bit
to jump, and then all of a sudden we've got the drama show.
So go check that out.
That's on our YouTube page.
People like that a lot because they're cool.
They're cool with shit.
That's the most comprehensive thing.
I think we've done.
Interviews, drone footage, real footage of us playing, history.
All the stuff.
So it's in there.
Uncrustibles.
Uncrustibles,
balls,
dick and balls,
pine cone.
Hell yeah.
Yeah.
So cool stuff's in there.
Okay.
Let's get to the good stuff.
The golf tournament this weekend.
There's a ton to break down.
Obviously what happened.
The coverage.
Let's start with the coverage.
I want to do that because golf has long
forever been bitched at
for blowing it when it comes to television coverage of golf.
I think it mostly manifested itself with the Masters.
I think forever.
The Masters just people be hyped about it all year.
Best tournament.
Even people that don't give a shit about golf, casual fan.
They love the Masters.
The Masters commercials come on during, like, college football playoffs,
and everybody gets jacked up, and then you got four months,
and then Augusta, April hits,
and you can't watch the Masters until like 3 p.m.
You can watch, like, the Back 9.
That was it.
People would complain about it all the time.
I want to watch these guys play it.
Finally, the Masters figured it out.
Now they have the best website.
and history of websites where you can just watch every shot, every hole, all the time.
It's the best.
But there's been coverage gaps.
There's been issues with tape delays.
You can't watch golf or you want to watch golf, the 30-minute coverage gap, all this stuff.
It came to a head this past weekend on Sunday morning.
They pushed tea times up at Mirfield Village at the chair, the work.
Push the tea times up.
You can't fucking watch the golf.
Hold on.
You went out, you cut out for like.
When you started saying work, they did.
Work Day charity open.
Okay, workday charity open.
Sunday to push up the tea times
because of bad weather, impending bad weather.
So now you've got this amazing
leaderboard, you've got this final group, this
threesome of Justin Thomas,
of Morikawa, of Victor Hovlin.
They're going back and forth.
There's eagles being made. JT.'s making
bogies, and then all of a sudden he starts making
several birdies. And the fucking coverage
just goes off. And it's
nowhere to be found on a television.
You have to actually stream it.
and it sent off Twitter, everyone on sports Twitter, into a frenzy.
Pat McAfee was tweeting about it,
which I consider Pat McAfee like a classic, you know, casual golf fan,
who's just a sports fan.
He couldn't figure out how to watch a damn thing.
My buddy's texted me, like I got iPads out, I got phones out,
I got computers out, how the fuck do I watch the golf?
It was crazy that when they are the only sport going on,
when they have an awesome leaderboard,
and then unbeknownst to them,
they were even going to get the awesome finish that they got, it wasn't on television.
The thing that makes me the most furious is that this has happened before, and it's happened
this season.
Like, I understand that the T-Time's getting pushed up.
That makes everything shift down, so then they've got to figure things out.
But what I don't understand is people, I don't know if they're defending what's going on,
but they're saying, well, they have these TV contracts, and Golf Channel has this much
a lot of time, and then CBS has this much a lot of time, so they're not able to do that,
so they have to tape delay it and start it at 3 o'clock on CBA?
I don't care about any of that.
Nobody cares less about TV contracts than this guy right here.
What I do care about is like you're saying, Riggs,
golf is the only sport on right now.
It has all the eyeballs in the world,
and we need to allow those eyeballs to actually see the golf.
Like, I'm in the camp of we've got Morikawa,
we got Hovlin, and we've got Justin Thomas in a final group.
Let's get as many eyeballs on this as we can.
And so for people to be like, oh, it's something about the TV
contracts, it can't work that way. You don't understand. I don't have to understand it. I'm a consumer.
You should be able to see what's going on and adapt. That's what makes me the most, Matt, is that
it's not like this weather pushing up the tea times is a new thing. That's been happening forever.
It's the thing where the contracts aren't able to adapt to the situation and you get caught in the
situation like Sunday where once 11 o'clock hit, you could only stream it on CBS. And I get that we are,
we're um you cut the cable or whatever we are those people but there's a lot of people out there
who just didn't know how to find it and that cannot be the case when you have such a powerhouse
three-sum teeing off like you just can't have that i think the more frustrating part to that trend is
that it's going to happen again like it's just going to happen again like you're saying like
oh it happened one time and happened this time it's so frustrating like there's it's just
it it's not going to change which is mind-boggling the answer
There shouldn't be, oh, it's the contracts.
There's nothing we can do about it.
It should be, let's fucking look at those things and figure out a way where we can make it so people can watch golf when it's on.
That's it.
Yeah.
And the frustrating part was that they take this almost pompous and insulting approach to responding to people like Molly Solomon, who's Golf Channel,
an executive producer or something around that.
Golf Channel was tweeting out, like, you know, people have to understand trying to
essentially defend golf channel.
And I don't even think it's really
Golf Channel because CBS I saw a man of Ballionis
who we love, we've had on the show,
but they were kind of going out,
and it's not her decision,
but they were going out being like,
it's actually easier to stream stuff.
Here are the different links,
like all of us stream stuff nowadays.
That's not what we're arguing.
And Trent is exactly right.
And what we are saying is that there are still,
there still is a huge chunk of people
who are programmed to find things by going,
hey, Trent's tweeting about this awesome golf tournament.
Here, I'm going to go to guide.
I'm going to scroll down until I see golf tournament on my fucking guide.
I'm going to click it and I'm going to watch it.
And if it's any more complicated than that, I ain't watch it.
So if you're trying to be out there and say that you support this growth of the game,
we've got to get more eyeballs on the game of golf,
then you know what you have to do?
You have to figure out the fucking TV contracts.
Stop talking down to us about them, how we don't get it,
how our brains aren't big enough to understand contracts and just figure it the fuck out.
When the Masters was moved up like seven hours, guess where it was?
on television. It was on CBS. You could just watch it. This would never happen with any other sport.
And it got to the point where they were actually, when they were on like the 16th and 17th holes
in an iconic battle for this tournament with two young stars of golf who were going to be around
for a very long time, they actually started the tape delay coverage on TV of them on like the first
hole. So if you're watching all this crazy, like, oh my God, I can't believe the theatrics. I can't
leave the drive that's happening on the tournament.
Oh, I see golf tournament on my television.
They're on the first hole.
You're going, what the fuck's going on?
So you're telling me during that window that they had,
they couldn't have then put the live coverage on so that then when it went to three
playoffs, that's an hour, hour and a half of TV coverage of golf.
That's half of a hockey game.
That's half of like most sports right there that they could have had live that they did
tape delay, take delay.
But they do tape delay on like Seinfeld.
The last time I remember that, Seinfeld would like,
Jerry Seinfeld and the fucking show would like record Mets games and then get
Madwin Kramer would blow the results.
And that's what we're doing now in 2020.
It was preposterous that they actually let that happen.
Tape delayed sports should be illegal.
The fact that that's their, that's the option is like, oh, well, they're going to tape delay.
We'll start at three.
It'll end at six.
The tournament ended six hours ago.
Like who doesn't know who won already?
People know who won.
So they're not going to watch a fucking tape delay.
All I'm saying is it cannot be this complicated.
It simply cannot.
You just got to figure it out.
My dad does the TV tape delay and he's fine with it.
Like his thing is like if it goes from like noon to three, he'll tape it.
Like if the Rangers play at 1, he wants to tape it watch it at 7 p.m.
And then he's okay to watch it there.
That is impossible to do.
Absolutely impossible.
Right.
And I'm sure there is a percentage of the audience that watches that tape delay like it's live.
That they don't even, they're not on Twitter.
They're not on social media.
So they can watch it that way.
There is a percentage of that audience.
And I would have been in a home.
Put him in a fucking home.
You're talking about my dad because I guarantee he falls into that category.
But there is like a section which.
For sure.
Between us and the super old people who need to be put in the home who are on Twitter
but aren't able to watch it on TV because of some TV contract that was made 25 years ago.
Like they just need to figure it the fuck out.
Yeah, have to figure it out.
There's no excuse.
You guys have nailed it all.
It's infuriating.
It's 2020.
It's not 1995 anymore where it's even okay to play something.
that are already finished and you're trying to trick people into thinking that they're watching
live coverage it should be illegal someone should be put in jail for this and maybe even worse
and honestly like if you are defending what they did for that you should just do it um and you know
what i'm talking about just like the city of buffalo from missing the playoffs uh in hockey because
every single team made it here's another thing i'm going to say what's that frankie is that like
to your point uh trend i don't know we don't know enough about the
contracts, but there has to be a way in which, like, CBS would pay more money to get into a slot
to, like, get, like, if it falls on them, like, honestly, it's not their fault because of weather
restrictions and they have to get it in, but, like, you have to take that loss, right? Like,
you have to show it regardless of what happens. When Donald Trump or someone, like, in politics,
like, does something or something crazy in the world happens on CNN or NBC, they, like, cut whatever
coverage is on, and they just go live to it on Fox News, CNN, everything. It's like breaking news.
it should be breaking news that Kalamorakawa and Justin Thomas are hitting absolute atom bombs from 50 feet away during fucking playoff holes.
Like, like sirens should be going off at the Meet the Press fucking wherever.
Meet the Press was on, I think, during all this.
On CBS, like these old people in white sneakers talking about fucking censuses or whatever.
The census.
And I got to watch a lady from Chicago saying that the Chicago, you see that.
By the way, you see that clip?
the census
Cowboy
Cowboy census
This world is doomed
Honestly
When I saw that cowboy roll into that fucking screen
I lost my shit
Here's a
It's just
I couldn't believe it
Because you know
I wanted to watch it
At one point
Like you said
The app stop
And it's just
Watching it on your phone
Is the hardest thing
In the world
And I love Amanda Balliotis
And they're saying
That the streaming is easy
You
How are you supposed to keep up
With what's going on?
You're in the app
Right
and then Justin Thomas misses the putt,
so you go out of it, you tweet,
you text your friends,
holy shit,
you go back into the app,
and it's a two and a half minute ad for FedEx.
And then this other thing,
the work day,
I watched the same ad 15 times
because I kept accidentally exiting out of the fucking app
to go send a text message,
and I'd come back,
I'd like, you mother,
I looked at my phone,
I'm like, you motherfucker.
I can't believe I'm watching this ad again.
I can't believe it.
It was,
it was infuriating.
The whole,
when you do watch,
on the live stream too where it says during all the commercials it just says like coverage will
return soon and i'm like can't even give me a fucking commercial it's like it's just what are we doing
this isn't a legitimate production i'm watching it's not television just give me television
did you guys know it's made it remind me the um one of the most iconic sporting sports games games
and sport of all times was shown on tape the way to the entire country oh was that 1980
the hockey guy
I'm the hockey guy on this fucking podcast
you're telling me
Miracle ice was on tape delay
so you're saying Al Michael's call was like
premeditated he knew what was going to happen
no he I believe
yeah well Lurch
are you fucking kidding me
Lurch he was he was
he was there
no I know but like if he knew the outcome
and like no no
he could have done anything
No, they weren't delayed on the ice.
He wasn't like, oh, I saw.
He wasn't announcing it to the arena.
But he's there.
There at the game.
He's the fucking press box.
You could still edit the final line.
No, they weren't editing anything.
That was a dumb thing.
It was dumb that you said.
You can't walk this back.
You thought maybe he announced the game after and watched it.
That's a dumb thing you said, man.
That's a dumb thing.
It was a little.
a little dumb, but I walked the tight rope out of it, and that's in parentheses.
Oh, shit. That's actually real. That's a tight right walk, and that's in parentheses.
So did they not, so there was no information, like there was no radio, like, oh,
no, no, not really. I think, like, on radios, they would, they would kind of give the quick
sports update. But I believe the game was slated for 5 p.m., and it was played at 5 p.m. The Soviets
denied a request to move the game to 8 p.m. So,
the coverage just published the video or broadcast the video with, you know,
maybe with edited, um, I'm not,
I'm not sure of the actual happenings in the game at,
I think 8 p.m.
So it was in prime time instead of, you know, at 5 o'clock.
Pretty crazy.
Yeah, which is nuts to think about.
The whole country's going crazy for this game and it just happened three hours before.
It's just weird to think about it.
Like, imagine the, um,
You know, you get everybody as a cell phone now, all the reactions with, like,
Landon Donovan's goal in the World Cup to advance the U.S.,
and they had, like, hundreds of reaction videos from all across the country.
Like, Matt, those would just be three hours late.
Like, that's not in real time that that happens.
So the whole thing would just be so bizarre.
But anyway, take the old.
I'm glad.
I'm actually, as it was happening, as this battle between Mark Howe and J-T was happening,
the sadistic part of my brain was like, I'm glad this is happening,
and it's not happening on live TV.
because now we get to throw up a fucking shitstorm
about how this stuff needs to be on TV.
Like, you couldn't script a better ending
to a golf tournament to stir up shit
that is not on live TV.
Like that was, it was so good
and it just wasn't on live TV.
I'm looking at this right now.
Guess how many people watch the Miracle on Ice tape delayed version
three hours later?
How many people?
A ton.
Yes.
I can't guess this number.
I don't know how many people.
believe it.
1980.
Think about how different TV was and all that, 1980.
I got to guess, $25 million.
I was going to say $17.
Did we blow it out of the water again?
Like he's going to say five.
Lurch.
I'm not going to see that crazy.
That was my first number of five.
32.4 million.
Okay.
So now, wait a minute.
That's pretty close.
Now, I think people listen to it on the radio lot.
Maybe.
They definitely might have.
But also even...
actual famous broadcast, the video, you know, them throwing a fucking glove down.
Because when you just said that, not the name drop here, but I texted an American hero,
Brock Nelson, a good guy, plays hard and loves the game, family guy, the whole thing,
really good guy, number 29 on the New York Islanders having a career year this year.
I stopped for Corona, but we're in the playoffs.
Doing much to be on the U.S. team.
His uncle, Dave Christian, was on the team, Christian hockey stick.
That's the Brock Nelson family, crazy hockey store.
Like, they have a crazy hockey blood.
his uncle was on the miracle on ice team
and then his grandfather was on the original miracle team
in like the 1960s insane
but I was like I just said
the miracle on ice game was on tape delay when it happened
he said the biggest sports event of all time
was on radio like you listened to it on the radio
that to me
that to me is so mind-boggling
that people can't figure it out Trent
just figure it out
USA was playing the Soviets
and they're like nope we're just going to show
this later on.
During the Cold War?
During the Cold War, we're playing the Soviets.
It's also funny to think how differently information
travels. Like if that, if say that happened
today and it was on the radio, but it was taped
delayed on TV, people would know because people would be tweeting
about it and everyone would know. But back then, you listen to it on
the radio, it happens, and then you just sit there.
Like, you don't, you're not able to transfer that information to
anyone. So people who watch on tape delay, they all had no idea.
no clue you're right and like yeah no clue they can't text they can't do shit you got to like
go if you're an avid hockey fan yeah guess what i watched it if you were an avid hockey fan you're physically
run to another house if you were an avid hockey fan you were into that you definitely listened to it on
the radio so like you missed that whole moment of watching on tv no because i think that it was so it was
common enough back then that like you could blow the experience by listening on the radio or you could
be like, I want to, I want to see this game and wait and watch that they've done.
Crazy.
And now here we are, you know, 40 years later, we're doing the same shit.
So it's a little frustrating.
Frank, something that we're not doing.
Was CBS around?
Was CBS around back then?
Who aired?
Who aired that fucking thing?
It had to be NBC or ABC?
I got to have ABC.
My gut says ABC.
It's probably ABC.
It would have been hilarious, but it was CBS somehow.
40 years are just not figuring it out.
It's the same contract, just the same.
These contracts.
Get an underwriter in here and figure the show.
We don't have a legal team.
This is just a mess.
Figure it out.
That's it.
Something that we have figured out,
frankly,
something that's great for your skin,
for your armpits,
and improvement to your overall life.
Ors and Alps, baby.
Let me tell you something.
I just got a refill of my
Ors and Alps body wash.
It's got those little beads inside.
A little bit of an exfoliation
system they have going on where you're
in the sun all day.
You have sunscreen on.
You are at the beach.
You got sand on you.
I went to the beach the other day
for the first time in maybe four years.
What a nightmare.
Dude, and like I live on Long Island.
Like I have a beach 10 minutes away.
Like, it's, I should be at the beach 10 minutes away.
I should be at the beach all the time.
I hate the sand.
I hate the ocean.
It's trying to pull you in.
The ocean's trying to kill you.
The ocean's constantly pulling you in.
Those little toothpicks of legs will just get dragged out.
I got taken out by,
because I guess you're never supposed to, quote, unquote,
turn your back on the ocean.
So I'm standing there with my pasty body.
I'm sitting there my pasty body and my girlfriend's there.
And I got absolutely poof right to the back of my neck,
from a wave, I was at the crashing point,
and I went, boom, and I tackled her.
And this is the most traumatizing thing
that's ever happened to both of us.
I was getting rustled around inside these fucking waves,
and I go to pick myself up,
and she was below me,
and I, like, pushed down on her to get up.
I'm now holding her underneath the tide,
and I'm like, and then I felt what I was doing.
So I did a tumble salt and lifted her up
like I was Simba, like Simba from the Lion King,
and I couldn't read,
anybody on earth goes to the beach is the most relaxing experience in the world
or all it goes to the beach is a murder seat i had sand inside my body so oh
the whole point of this is i got home i i unboxed this oars and alps and i got that
body wash all over me it takes all that nasty stuff off you you have to get the body wash
because it has those beads in it you guys know i'm talking about when you're rubbing it on your
body you put that on your lufa and you're just it's it feels like you're actually getting
yourself clean sometimes with that bar is so i'm a little lupa guy i don't
I am a lufa guy.
I spray the whole thing.
I get it nice and moist.
I get it nice and real nice.
I go all hands.
I'm hands.
You like to touch you.
You have to get your hands inside the curves.
Nobody knows these crevices like I know these crevices.
But let me tell you, man.
Lufa do some work can kind of get between those crevices.
You know what I get in there just fine.
Thank you, right.
You got to do it.
You got to do with Orsonalps and the deodorant.
You got the eye thing.
And listen.
it don't just do it because we're telling you to and don't just do it because we're telling you
that it's a really good product.
Honestly, you just don't want to be putting a bad product underneath your armpits anymore.
You can't do it.
Look it up.
Go look up, Google, how bad is big deodorant for you?
You're going to see all the yellow stains.
You're going to see the chemicals.
You are literally putting a chemical in your body to stop yourself from sweating, from producing water.
This has none of that stuff in it.
It just makes you feel good, makes you smell good.
Orson Alps.
I love them.
I love that product.

Headlines.
Callmore.
Callow wins at Mirfield Village.
This was an all-time, really an all-time final round.
I imagine it'll go down is the top five final round of the year when this whole thing said and done,
the back and forth.
It was JT, T and off with what do you have, like a three-shundle-old.
shot lead. He played amazing yesterday. He comes out. He only made one bogey through three rounds.
Bogies two and three. So right out of the gate, he's behind because you've got Morikawa,
you've got hoblin, you've got other players making charges. Morikawa was doing things on this
damn golf course that the world's never seen before. He almost had, I mean, he was inches away
from having back to back an ace and then an albatross. He's hitting, he just hit the ball and
hitting these shots from ungodly distances for normal human beings to within a tight little
ring around the pin, making eagles, nearly making aces, making birdies, and all of a sudden
he jumps on top.
And you're thinking JT's out of this damn thing.
Hovlin's in the mix.
We've got these three young guns.
JT's like the season veteran at this point looking for, I believe, what, his 13th win,
which would have put him in a realm with only like Tiger and Jack that ever won that many tournaments
before a certain age.
So all these things are happening.
And you're starting to think, okay, well, J.T. is going to melt.
JT's, you know, falling out.
I can't believe these other two guys are.
Then Justin Thomas Bertie's four holes in a fucking row
seems to put an exclamation point in the tournament
when he eagles the 15th hole to play what?
An eight-hole stretch at seven under par?
I think he had 10 one-putts in a row at one point.
Oh, my God.
He hit that 15th hole.
I mean, he rips a drive down the middle.
You've got Morikawa slapping it all over God's green earth over there,
God's green Ohio Earth.
And you've got JT,
rips one down the middle and then hits like a five wood or three wood,
up towering of freewood, left part of the green funnels to like 25, 30 feet.
He buries that.
Tournaments over.
We're all tweeting about the tournaments over.
JT.
I started out like the JT.
I started writing,
I do like this guy won the 2020 Workday Charity Open.
I wrote my JT blog.
I just, once he was three up with three to go,
I was like, well, this is it.
I'm just going to get it started early,
so I don't have to rush once it's all over,
and then it just didn't really work out that way.
Started his name on the trophy.
Yeah, somebody tweeted out, like put a nail in the coffin
or something like that when he made Eagle.
Like it was like from a PGA or somewhere.
It was wild.
Three up three to play.
That's for JT is over.
I know.
It was so over.
And then even Morikawa, on 16, Morikawa hits another one tight.
JT hits a shit one.
He has like, you know, 10 feet for, for,
par. Morikawa's got like 12 feet for birdie.
Morikawa misses that one. So you're thinking like, oh, that was must make.
Then JT misses. Then on 17, Morikawa makes an amazing birdie.
I think he said afterwards that was maybe the best bounce of his career.
Because I think he just covered like the bunker and kicked, you know, way across the green to like
nine feet, buries it. So it's like, oh wait, now we've got an actual golf tournament.
And then JT and Morikawa, 018, JT played it like shit.
Morikawa is up there pretty tight, hits a put, like a foot past.
the hole. I think it was 11 inches. JT.
misses his par bid. And then Morikawa,
who yipped one to lose in a playoff
against Daniel Berger like a month ago
at Colonial, hits a putt and had no business going into the
hole. I mean, this was the most
yanked 11-inch professional
putt I've ever seen in golf
catches all of that hole and rins around.
He even gave like amazing.
This is his facial expression.
If he misses that putt, I don't know if he recovers
the rest of the season. Like he's just like,
I need to go, I need to go think about some things because if you missed that one and then
you missed the one at Colonial obviously with Daniel Berger, that's like, that would fuck you up
so badly, so bad.
And, you know, and you know, as a golfer, if you have issues with your putt up, right?
So, like, you can look at the statistics.
You can look at just your general, like, comfortable, comfort level out of the course.
You know, right?
And so when you miss, when he missed that put at Colonial, it's seeping in there.
And then when he, you know, he's missing these putts really on Sunday that if he made a couple more, like the thing would have been out of reach, then he nearly misses that 11-inch putt, you are absolutely right.
Like that would have been something that a man like him in that stage of his career who works as hard as he works, like that would have been a psychological train wreck for him to come back from, makes it, it goes in the first fucking playoff hole.
Neither one of them plays it particularly well either.
I mean, more a comma played it.
He had a great shot, I believe, out of the fairway bunker.
JT's up on the side hill, hits a mirror.
on the back left of the green he's got 50 feet buries it and everyone's going crazy like
holy fuck we just had miss putt after miss putt now j t makes a 50 footer this thing's over it was cool
that morikawa's putt we had just seen jason thomas's put on the same line uh on the 70 second hole he had
he had that he had that par put to win it and you can tell he thought it was going to wiggle left at
the end and it wiggled right and morikawa picked up on that shit and he he he just trickled that thing down
there and they had the perfect angle.
Shout to the coverage,
which was just excellent full time.
They had the perfect angle where that thing's fucking wiggling.
And you're thinking in your head,
like, no, JT's wiggled right.
And even Morikawa kind of gave up for a second.
And then the last like two inches of the punt,
it wiggles right, catches the left side of the hole,
and goes in.
And it was like, holy shit,
we've had nothing going.
Now we had a 50 footer to a 25 footer.
That part might go down as the biggest missing golf
to not have fans because those roars,
that like amphitheater would have been off the shot.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm sorry.
And also like who knows what the reactions would have been.
Like I know that they're two young guns going at it.
Actually really funny to hear them talk about Justin Thomas as like this veteran going
against Victor Hovlin and Morikawa.
Like what is JT 27 years old?
It's just he's been on tour for years and years and years.
And these kids are coming up now.
And man, it's just so good for golf.
But my one miss was that like if you do have fans there and you're hitting a 50 footer
and then he's hitting the 20,
like Morikawa could have like gone absolutely fucking ap,
like bananas if he hit that put,
like with a bunch of people just going,
he may have like gotten shirtless or something.
Like who knows what happened when you have those fans?
So that was the first thing I thought of after they were walking off that green.
I'm like, man, that could have been such a moment.
Like, like, who knows if like you have your tiger fistpump moment or something?
Who knows?
Like that could end up being Morikawa's like living room for the rest of his life
if he has a photo of that with all the fans behind him.
and then a long put to push it to another playoff.
Instead, you hear, you can hear like JT, like, come on.
Yeah.
It's like, great.
I get it, but it's also like, I still understand.
I don't understand how JT's 50 footer win in.
That's just like, at best he was going to two putt that and like it was over.
But like, I can't, he just poured that fucker in there.
And you're right.
If there had been fans, I think that place collapses.
I don't know how, you know, land collapses, but that land would have collapsed.
That shit was crazy.
It's Ohio, so they probably, I don't know, isn't there the whole thing, a landfill?
Rickishet shot at Ohio.
Wow.
Did you think Trent was from Ohio?
No, we just did a pizza review.
I edited one from Dave was in Cleveland, and he talks pretty poorly of that place,
LeBron and stuff.
So I think they're just catching some ricochet shots on me right now.
We had a guy at the Barso Classic today from Ohio steps up to the first.
T and the scene in the 10th T was we had like two groups that were waiting the off,
Marty Mush and Dana who are, you know, they bring a ton of hoopla, myself, like Trista was there.
There's a ton of people around the 10th T.
And this guy gets cocky.
It's like, hey, Riggs, when are you going to bring the Barso Classic to Ohio?
I was like, you know, I don't know.
Like, we'll see, maybe.
He's like, well, how about this?
If I hit this fairway, you got to bring it to Ohio next year.
I was like, fine.
But if you hit an OB here, there's OB all down the left, I'm never coming to Ohio and it's your
fault.
and he was like fine.
He steps up.
He's a two handicapped.
He steps up, cold pops it.
I mean, he hit the ball.
It went like 40 yards, just topped it to the left.
And everybody's roasting him.
And he was like, he was like red.
He's so embarrassed.
He's like, fuck, like I blew it for Ohio.
Well, guess what?
He ended up winning low medalists.
He shot, they shot 500 and not winning the whole damn things.
They're going to pioneers anyways.
Yeah.
So I think that he redeemed himself and we will go to Ohio, but that was still a ricochet shot.
That was a ricochet shot.
I know.
That was tough.
But anyways, we go to a couple of playoff holes.
The second playoff hole wasn't quite as eventful.
Third playoff hole, JT, clearly, like, just he wasn't hitting as well as he would have liked,
ends up making bogey.
Morikawa makes bar after hitting it in there pretty damn tight and wins the damn tournament.
So it's his second PGA tour victory, just his 24 starts since turning pro.
he actually has 22, he had a run of 22 consecutive cuts made to start his professional career,
which put him second only to Tiger Woods in that category, which is an amazing staff.
Amazing stat.
To begin your career and make 22 consecutive cuts, that's like, think how comfortable you are out there,
how different the game is.
It's like, that whole thing.
So that was stunning.
That kind of tells you a lot about, you know, where you do.
I want to be Colin Markawa. I want to be Colin Markawa.
Like, imagine being in that position right now.
You're young. You're already successful.
And you just have so many more opportunities in front of you.
Like endless opportunities.
Like he's going to, unless something goes horribly wrong, he's going to win so many tournaments.
Like he has the game where he's just going to win and win and win.
And I think he's made like $4.2 million or $4.7 million in these first 24 starts.
who's got it better than Colin Moracawa,
maybe Patrick Mahomes,
but Colin Morikawa on the PJ Tour,
he's got it pretty fucking good.
You got to see these stats
when you compare him to how he's playing
against Tiger Woods in the first,
so the first 88 rounds as a pro,
Tiger Woods had 60 subpar rounds,
he had 10 rounds of 65 or better,
and a 69.1 average.
Colin Moracawa has 59 subpar rounds,
nine rounds of 65 or better,
and a 69.2 average.
He is quite liberal.
really on pace with Tiger Woods
through his first 88 rounds as a pro.
Like completely on pace.
Number for number. He's point one off
on scoring average. And he's got
it, right? Like you see him in interviews
and he's got it. Like, if
what happened to him at Colonial happened
to some fucking headcase, you don't see that
guy for the rest of the season. Colin
Moracawa bounces back a couple weeks later
and wins in one of the greatest showdowns
with Justin Thomas that the tour
has seen in recent memory. Like
he, and then when he ever he's interviewed afterwards,
He's just like, yeah, I'm really focused.
I'm trying to do my best.
I'm doing my best out here.
I'm not trying to get too distracted.
Like, he is everything you would want in a guy who you think is going to win just a ton.
And he's got a great name, Colin Moracawa.
Great name.
He could either be the villain or the hero with the way.
The way you say that name can go either way.
Like, oh, fucking Morikawa is coming back up the leaderboard.
Like, God, this guy's never up our tail.
Or it's like, morikawa, you go nuts.
Like, either way, if you bet on him or if you bet against him,
you know he's going to be in the mix and that name just sticks out.
Like it's going to be very hard to not pick or look at Colin Moracawa going into each week now.
You know what I mean?
Like his name just, he's got one of those names that are just in the back of your head now.
It's powerful.
It's a power name.
I don't know.
He's got something with the syllables, something with the vowels.
I don't know.
I'm sure someone does like science into like what makes a name really memorable and like powerful, but he has it all.
his top tracer too is glued to the flag stick.
Like his every fucking time he hits one, it never leaves the stick.
And you know, you see these other guys shaping a lot.
It feels like he just hits dead straight bullets at the pin every fucking time.
Even if he's 10 yards short, 10 yard deep, back part of the green front part of the beat,
it is right at the flag every time.
You're just kind of watching like, how is this guy going to miss?
And he doesn't.
So he's phenomenal.
Speaking of shot tracer, just real quick.
I played this weekend and I thought that maybe I'd teach myself how to hit a nice little baby cut, like a nice little buttery fade.
Because I'm like, you know, I watch these people sometimes.
They're able to crush the ball outright, like a lefty and just have it funnel back in.
So I was like, I'm going to do this.
First drive I get up there, I crush one.
Perfect fade.
I'm like, this is my new swing.
Next hole you can't go right.
And I try and do it as long as hard as I can.
Just duck hooked it as far right as possible.
Went into like someone's fucking living room.
Now I'm just completely fucked up.
Also, really quick.
I know we're talking professional golf.
Someone gave me a tip that I have to stop at the apex of my swing
because sometimes I'm too quick and I just don't give it a second.
And now it's all I'm thinking about and I'm officially ruined.
You can't tell me to stop my swing because now I'm up there and I'm just like this.
You're like Matsuyama?
Yeah, it just doesn't work.
Oh, God.
Yeah, your swing's not as good.
Justin Thomas's grandfather.
Superb. Did you guys see that video?
No.
88 years old swinging a driver and he's just got a cigar in his mouth.
It's a beautiful swing.
He pipes the ball, 88 years old right down the middle.
And it makes me wonder how we can't...
Jake Owen's grandfather.
They're both stuck.
We can't figure it out that we can't get the ball down the middle every time.
And this guy can barely get the club around his body and he stripes a drive down the middle.
The lesson there, Frankie, and who am I?
I'm terrible, but slow.
88-year-old grandpa, it's slow.
It's real slow and methodical.
That's really what it takes.
You're hyper speed.
I know.
It's crazy.
How about this?
I played with the guy,
so I was following along to the golf on the golf course.
The guy invites me down to Manusquan River.
Beautiful golf course.
Greens are ripping.
He doesn't show up.
He gets so hammered the night before.
And we're team off at 1140.
he gets so hammered that he doesn't show up till 2 p.m.
Not until we get on the 14th hole.
Shout out to Manusquan River for even letting us play.
But I couldn't believe it.
He just showed up on the 14th hole.
And it was like, sorry, guys.
And just like, yeah, last night he got away from me.
I was like, what?
It was the most absurd thing I've ever seen.
Yeah.
So he put, so he had the audacity to text me and be like, yeah, we're going to like get there a little early,
like 10.30, we have some lunch, hit some balls, have some fun.
And I was like, great.
So he's coming because he's down on the Jersey Shore.
So I text him.
And I'm like, you know, we're setting the whole thing up.
Everything's great.
Morning of you do the group text.
You like bring everybody together.
Hey, this is my buddy, your buddy.
And I hear crickets from it.
I'm like weird because he was super timely on the text.
Then I text him privately thinking that like maybe I typed the wrong number in.
I don't know.
Something fouled up.
Nothing.
So we just like, it's just me and E on the putting range.
Like they're putting green like looking for him, looking for him, nothing.
and they come over to us and they're like, oh, we know Fitsy.
Like sometimes he misses his tea time.
And I'm like, what?
Like, should we just go home?
They're like, no, we'll let you out.
Like the club pro played with us.
So we play the first like seven or eight holes.
And lo and behold, on the eighth hole, his partner shows up.
So they were together last night.
Like my bad for being late.
I'm like, well, Fitzie's so technically you're early.
And then we get 14th and Fitsy shows up.
and then he wants to keep playing.
So I miss some of the actual golf on TV,
but I played a ton of golf this weekend.
I was the most confused I've ever been.
And to a point, I put it up on social saying like,
hey, Fittsey, where are you?
I tried to chirp him.
But then after like 20 minutes,
I was like, ooh, I should maybe take this down
or not ever post that because then I started to be, like,
concern for him.
So it was a wild time.
But if he was a dead body, yeah.
And you're chirping him on Twitter
because of your tea time.
was a little messed up.
That's kind of tricky look.
That's a wild move.
That is a wild move.
You ever think about dying
in your apartment alone, Trent?
Like who would know
and how long would it take for someone to find you?
If I died, like, yeah,
like this is such a special circumstance
that like it would be
until Robbie comes back, my roommate,
which is like,
He, I don't know when he's coming back.
Nobody knows when anybody's coming back.
If you, if you died on Wednesday night after we record our last podcast in week,
I don't know that anybody, like, would anybody know you died until Monday when it's time to record you?
No.
I live a pretty low-key lifestyle, so no.
Man, this is going to be super fucking morbid if you pass away.
Yeah, it is.
Leave it.
I'm giving you, I'm giving you guys from.
mission to just keep it and don't feel bad about it.
Good.
How many people do you see in a week?
How many people do I see in a week?
No, no, better question.
How many people do you stay in?
Explain it to me like I'm fine.
Where is you stationed?
You son of a bitch.
I see my doorman.
Love to talk sports.
Love to talk sports.
A lot of discussion about when these sports leagues are coming back.
Just tons of discussion.
I love this guy.
I really do,
but he opens the door in the morning
when I leave to go get coffee.
He locks you in.
He is in control of when I'm able to leave.
So if he wants to talk about something,
he doesn't open the door and we're talking about it.
It's no option.
So I see him in the morning.
You know, when I order lunch,
I have to go down and get it.
The guys can't come up anymore.
So it's another doorman that's on the shift.
And then I do the same thing for dinner.
So that's three people I'll see in a day.
And then that's kind of it.
They're the same people every day.
So I probably see some.
three people a week.
Wow.
Three people and nothing more than like,
hello, how's the weather,
and sports can't be a long conversation these days.
These days, it's not really, no.
I love it.
I love that life.
And people will be like, that's a weird lifestyle.
I love it.
It's my favorite.
That's how, there's a reason I have it this way.
I could go see people if I wanted to,
but I don't really want it.
Yo, Trent, at the Barstall Classic today,
We met a kid who went to high school with you.
Riggs, do you remember this?
And he said that Trent was an awesome football player and intimidating.
Whoa.
Where were you guys today?
You guys were in Colorado.
What was the guy's first name?
Do you remember?
No idea.
Probably some fucking Midwestern name like,
oh, John.
I mean, that guy is accurately reporting my high school.
school football career. I was good at football and I was intimidated. He said you were like a big
intimidating linebacker. I was. I was a linebacker, yeah. Yeah, like you. That's amazing. He just said
broad-shouldered Trent. Everybody knew he was good at football. He's the linebacker and he was just
intimidating because he was like a year or two younger than you and cool. I wonder who that was. That's
interesting. I mean, you were a big. Your high school football tape is you're a big lineback.
If you want to look at it, you go on YouTube,
it's Barstle-Trent High School Football
Tate. Just check it out if you want to.
Yeah, I was big.
I mean, I'm still big, but I'm not that good of football anymore.
Frankie was telling a story about the beach earlier.
I got a question for you guys.
Did you know that Peter Ballard makes swim trunks?
Oh, I didn't know that.
I didn't, but I need some.
I do, too.
They do it all.
And when they say lifestyle with Peter Ballar,
it can literally outfit you from heads.
to toe. Even if you're headed on vacation, our whole squad for the Barstow class and got these
shoes. They're just like their comfortable sneaker, like lightweight shoes. EBugs got his right now
that they gave to everyone. And people just unsolicited came over because they know we've been
talking and not necessarily everybody that works on our logistics team, on our events team.
You know, they're not wearing people all the time. So they know that we talk about it and came over.
These shoes are unbelievable. So there, and I'll even take a U-word fine for that, that's completely
They're swim trunks.
They're made from soft, quick drying, stretch
fabric.
It's got bold prints.
Everything from turtles.
Love turtles on a nice print.
To sailing, fishing, even cocktail designs.
So think about the...
I'm looking at them right now, dude.
These things are insane.
And you've got to imagine that Pita Millar fabric,
which we've talked about all the time,
they somehow figure it out how to get the most comfortable,
like, whatever that material is,
they've just cornered it in the world.
just print their logo on this material and no one else can do it because it's the best and they
have it all. They have all of it in the world and now they're using it for swim trunks, which,
you know, you have less clothes on than usually. You got things rubbing up against things and you
want to make sure that everything's feeling good and tighten it and, you know, not loosey-goosey
at the pool because you don't want that. And you're going to be telling me that Peter Malar,
you know how good that probably feels in the water? I was going to say, like imagine how good a Peter
Mallar court as it feels.
I'm picturing that down south.
And I feel like that's something I'm very interested in.
Very interesting.

Kalamorikawa is very good at golf.
Justin Thomas, also very good at golf.
I think his rhythm, when he hits short shots especially,
but really overall, I was just thinking, watching,
like his tempo is inspiring.
So they're very good at golf.
We talked about that.
Tiger Woods is back this week.
Another guy who's very good at golf.
We haven't seen that motherfucker play in a long time
outside of the, you know, the little challenge, little match they did with Tom Brady,
Peyton, Manning, Phil Mickelson, when he didn't miss a fairway and just looked like the, you know,
Tiger Woods at age 26, let's call it. That's what he looked like. Tiger Woods, who was the
reigning Masters champion, that's what he looked like. And so it's going to be fascinating to see him.
I think he's won five times in Memorial Tournament at Mirfield Village, Jack's Tournament.
That's what we're playing this weekend. It's back-to-back. He got to look at and see the course
this last week if he wanted to check out any scouting reports.
But he knows what to expect.
He's won this tournament a bunch of times.
I'm expecting big things from Tiger this week.
I will say that in his older age now, he's what, 44 years old now,
that Tiger Woods doesn't do what he used to do,
which is when he just begins kind of a season,
and this is his restart.
He just wins.
So I am a little bit hesitant in that sense that, like, his body and all the bullshit
that we've talked about a bazillion times,
he's got to ease into things a little bit,
but I still expect phenomenal things from Tiger Woods this week.
No, I go ahead, Trent.
No, go ahead, you intimidating piece of shit.
What I was going to say is I too expect big things from him on the golf course.
But what we need to talk about a little bit is this coronavirus is very serious.
And I think Jay Monaghan and the PJ Tour have done a great job,
you know, trying to keep as many people safe with all the protocols and all the testing
and all the social distancing.
But they got to lock up the fuck down this week because Tiger Wood,
Woods and Pat Perez said it on this podcast.
The one man who can't get it.
Nobody should get it, but Tiger fucking Woods cannot get the coronavirus.
And nobody in his inner circle can get the coronavirus.
It was serious before.
It's still very serious and it's going to get even more serious with a guy like Tiger
Woods in the field.
That's all I'm going to say.
It's a great take.
It's a great take.
It's a great fact that we all need to know.
We all need to hunker down.
When Tiger Woods shows up there, it should feel like the Pope just walked in.
He should be in one of those Pope mobiles.
Like at all times, he should have plastic around him.
do everything you can to preserve God's child out there.
Okay, like that is who he is.
Lock it the fuck down.
Lock it the fuck down.
Do whatever you need to do.
Get that guy from his fucking car to his room.
Make sure that room is brand new.
I want them building a new room wherever he's going.
I want,
I want new lumber.
Building a new room.
Just everything is brand new.
And then when he leaves, you knock it down.
Like Clint Eastwood at Pebble Beach.
They build that set around him.
Yes.
I need them to build a hotel room around Tiger Woods.
Yes. It's like I went to go see the food fighters, my favorite band of all time.
Shout out Dave Grohl. He's a fucking magician.
Food fighters. And I saw them in Atlanta and they built a stadium.
AT&T puts on a concert before the fucking, or is like DirecTV, one of them,
puts on a concert before the Super Bowl.
And they had the food fighters.
And they built a hanger that fit 15,000 people inside it just for the one concert.
And then they took it down the next day.
Dave Grohl at one point during the show was like,
can you believe these fucking people built this thing for this show?
He's like, I'm playing 10 more songs and I'm leaving.
He's like, this is crazy.
This is absolutely insane how much money goes into this shit.
But that's what we need to do for Tiger Woods.
You know, they do it for the food fighters.
You can do it for fucking Tiger.
Keep them safe.
Keep him healthy.
I can't wait to see him play.
I also can't wait to see the difference in the course.
Because like you got to think, like these guys were absolutely lighting up
Mirfield Village.
And also I got chirped for saying Mirfield one time.
Like, it's actually in Europe.
there's a mere field.
So you have to see Mirfiel Village,
because it's where they have the milkshakes.
Okay, fucking piece of shit.
I don't give a fuck.
Where it is, it's Mirfield.
So it should be interesting.
It should be interesting where the fucking differences are.
You assume the greens are going to be like a glass compared to what they were.
And it's going to be much harder to hold shots.
It's going to be much harder to read these greens.
They're going to be a lot slicker, a lot faster,
or ruffle be thicker.
I mean, I don't know.
Can they move around the T-boxes that much?
Or are those shots going to,
change. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I'd be cool. Like on the 14th hole when they were doing the drive-over
part four, you know, like we haven't talked enough about that either more in Cowher Shop.
Like, there was so much to talk about. But, you know, I don't know that they'll do the,
with the T's up where you can, where you can reach it like they did. I hope that they do.
But yeah, I guess they're going to do a little bit different teas. And it'll be, it'll be
interesting to see if it's actually notice that that is that much different from a, from a
viewer's standpoint. I mean, you know, it's fucking golf course. They're there that good. They know
it. I guess they're going to grow out the rough.
a little bit more, but they've only got three days, so how much different could it be?
I'm sure it'll be a little bit longer.
And yeah, they can, you know, with the technology, now they can dry out the green some more.
They can make them firm.
They can make them faster.
She'll play harder.
I don't know that they'll get the JT was like 20 under at one point, finish what they tie
at like 18 under or something along those lines.
So I don't think it'll get that low at the memorial.
But, but yeah, it will be fascinating to see how they turn a golf course around because
we've just never fucking seen it before.
Like they never played two turn.
It's like a superintendent's wet dream to be able to watch, like, how they do this, right?
Like, I bet you all the super just sitting at home, like, trying to figure out, like, what technology are they using?
How are they getting there?
I bet you a bunch of phone calls are being made.
What's the best way to air these greens out and all this shit?
It's probably fucking, you know who would love?
You know who's probably walking around, looking around Bryson?
Bryson's probably looking around.
Just peeking around.
What's going on around here?
What's the science being?
So, Bryson.
So quickly.
So quickly.
So, he's on the radar of the RNA.
from 11 to a 14 this week to a 13 or 14.
So in terms of the stim meter,
it's supposed to get a little faster.
Different whole locations,
that's just a nothing,
but like, yeah, they're going to be different.
And then the rough,
they think they can grow at a half inch this week.
So it'll be like three and a half to four inches.
So how many inches is a,
no, it's not inches.
You know what a half inches.
No, I know, but a golf ball is how many inches?
In diameter.
Are you going for them?
Yeah.
Well, probably an inch and a half, two inches.
you think it's two inches inch to an inch and a half inch to an inch that's a good one though that is
I'm gonna say I was gonna say two inches
two inches seems big because I'm trying to think if you say it's gonna grow a half an inch
yeah it does in between your fucking pointer finger and thumb you know what I'm saying
just little fucking that little gum that little gum lurch is really pitching how big two inches is
like it's actually pretty big it's actually pretty big you know I should see two inches
like a show.
It's pretty much.
I'm thinking of a roller
and like going up
two inches on a golf ball
seems too much.
Sticking that ruler
inside your belly
button.
Leaving a dent.
Just some good thing.
What do you got?
Riggs, did you Google it?
1.68.
That's how outrageous.
Boo!
I got to.
You're bleeding.
You stab yourself.
You stab yourself.
Oh.
That's just some good dick here
between
fellas.
It is 1.6.8 inches.
That's how I had gone forward.
Right.
What were we talking about?
Anyway.
Well, he said it was going to grow half an inch.
I was trying to think, like,
what's the difference in that?
Right.
It's a fucking cover.
It's a good question.
When you started doing this,
it really got me thinking.
Yeah.
Anyways,
Mirfield Village is.
It's going to be fun to watch the difference in the course.
Tiger Woods playing out there.
Oh, that good jazz.
And somebody mentioned Bryce and Nishambo earlier.
He has entered the RNA's radar.
Says that they are, you know, feeling that what he's been doing is extraordinary,
yet also worrisome.
The royal and ancient chief executive Martin Slumbers, which is.
What I just say?
The royal and ancient?
Read that whole thing over again.
The chief executive of the RNA, which is the royal and ancient's name, is Martin Slumbers.
When you put the Royal and Ancient Martin Slumbers altogether, it just sounds like a fairy tale gumdrops.
Like I see unicorns. I see fakeness. It's not a real person.
Yeah. The Royal and Ancient Chief Executive Martin Slumbers admitted to being fascinated by Bryce and Deschambeau's beefed up approach,
but reiterated his belief that distance gains must be.
reigned in. What he said, quote, but what is extraordinary is that Bryson isn't the first one
to put muscle on in golf, how he's able to control the ball with that extra power is extraordinary.
All credit to him, he's a true athlete, but I still come back to the belief that golf is a game
of skill, and we believe we need to get that balance of skill and technology right. So essentially
reiterating that they're royal and ancient and their buddy here, chief executive slumbers,
and the USGA are not stopping and they are going to come down on the distant situation in golf,
which I think that a lot of people, Brando-Chambly included, have made the point that Bryson is going to be the tipping point for the USGA and for the RNA
and having to do something about distance because what he is doing right now is so exaggerated.
It's so extreme that if they're ever going to do something about distance, they've been to do it pretty far.
fucking soon or this guy's going to show up to some of their royal and ancient golf courses,
hit the ball 50 yards over any imaginable bunkers that's going to bounce and carry him
onto the green and he's going to go put on every hole and laugh at your god be in the
so they're going to have to figure it out pretty soon, but he is on the radar of the Royal and
ancient and our friend Martin slumbers here.
Martin slumbers, if you read between the lines and that statement, he's furious.
He just seems furious.
Like he's saying, oh, Bryson's extraordinary.
what he's doing is fantastic.
Those words mean I fucking hate this,
and we're going to try and figure out a way
to stifle what's going on with Bryson D. Shambau.
I agree.
I read it the exact same fucking way.
I will say Kiz.
I was listening to Kis.
I think it was on Matt Janone's podcast where Kisner was talking about the
Bryson thing.
Kiz, of course, finished T third or third,
I think solo third, the week ago when Bryson won.
And he was actually going out of his way to be like,
what Bryson's doing, he's like, as much as I gave him shit after and said he need some kids
or something to do, like, you know, kids being kids busting his ball. He was like, you got to give
the guy and you got to celebrate what he did because how many fucking people, kids like, I'm not one of them,
he's like, how many people would go out there, study their dicks off to learn what do I need to do
to be able to hit the ball farther and get better at golf than everyone else? And then actually
go out and take the time to do it, to work out five times.
day to study the mechanics of his swing, how he can tweak his swing along with the muscle
mass gains that he can hit the ball, eight million miles. Kids is like, I'm going to go home
and drink a couple beers and like hang out with my kids or go hang out with my buddy. That's what
I'm going to do. And Brycey, what he did was study like a fucking crazy person, work out like a
crazier person and get this good at golf. And he was like, so that guy deserves all the credit in the
world. And it's going to suck for him. I know we can talk about this is we all like have our
takes on distance. It's going to suck for him when they have. It's going to suck for him.
like ripped distance away. It's still going to matter.
Like he's still going to hit the ball farther than everyone else.
You ain't going to be able to hit it as accurately. You're not going to be able to
have as big of advantage when they eventually ripped the distance away.
And that motherfuckerbacker screwed because they like took the side saddle thing away.
They take like his yardage books out.
They take now they're going to take the distance away.
It's like everything he does to get better.
They're going to, he's going to melt when they do that to him.
Did you guys see the video Bryson put up on Instagram this weekend of him
swinging as hard as he possibly can back in that living room?
It's a terrifying video, first of all.
And second of all, that was the first time that I said to myself that this is not sustainable.
Like I know the popular take is like he's going to break down.
You can't put on that much muscle and swing that hard without sustaining an injury.
You watch that video and I'm surprised he's not already injured.
Like that right there is not sustainable.
No.
No, it looked like he was chopping down a tree.
I mean, he was swinging so hard.
I thought the ball was going to go through the net.
There was also people behind the net.
And I was like, what are you doing there?
Like he is swinging out of his shoes.
At some point, he's a human being and we make mistakes.
Like, he's going to miss it or something's going to go horribly wrong.
I mean, he was swinging.
Or it's going to go through the net.
Those nets are like shit.
Those balls go through those nets all the time.
He's going to take that guy's head off.
Did you hear the people in the background, like, trying to like rev him up?
And I don't know if you guys just brought that up because I was looking up something.
But did you hear in the background like, go, go, go, go.
And then he'd hit.
You have to rewatch this video and listen to the background.
It's crazy.
like he's like probably asking guys get me going and like in between each swing you hear him go go go go and then he just hits it's it's the most bizarre thing of all time dude he does it on the teboxes i heard brando breaking it down he does he's been he did so much research of this that he hipes himself up on the tebox before he swings because he has to prepare his muscles to swing as hard as he wants to swing so he legit hypes himself up and like he's a fucking you know like he's a weight lifter like he's a power lifter he's a power lifter he's a
like hyping himself up and then when he hits he doesn't do the fucking swing easy one in breezy
and tempo he just swings fast he can fucking swing it's like it's amazing what this guy is doing with
that video like by the sixth or seventh one like his hat fell off and his hair like sweating
over it was right and i was trying to notice like little differences in each video because
you like is it the same one you're like no he's this is another one because you'd see like little
changes to each one and he was just
matched it a thousand times.
Why am I not remembering the guy's name?
He's like, was he like the PGA
president or something like that or he was
affiliated with the tour that he has a fucking
wild name. Is he like
the tour commissioner or he was?
Who's the guy that would always come down
with the fucking rules? And he had the most
bizarre name of all time.
Oh, it's, oh, it's, um,
slugger white. Slugger white. What is he,
what is he again? He's a
rules official. He's the rules official.
Yeah, he has the rules.
He comes in the cart with a cowboy hat on?
Slugger White and what's the new guy's name now?
What's this fucking guy at the RNA?
Martin Slumbers.
Martin Slumber and Slugger White.
You need to just have a beer one day and discuss the rules and Bryson.
You don't think that they've talked.
If you don't think those guys have talked about Bryson D. Chambot, you're insane.
God, I got to look him up, Slugger White.
What a look he has, too, with the huge cowboy hat.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
Those guys take on what Bryson's doing.
Like, they're honest takeover.
of what Bryson is doing to the game of golf.
Like that is...
Slugger White's the last guy you want to see rolling up behind you during a fucking tour event.
When he's got that air horn on you, he's got the walkie-talking,
he's got a fucking big cowboy at.
Like, boy, you just touched a grain of sand, didn't you?
Slugger's coming.
Slugger's great.
I fucking love Slugger.
Although there's like...
Slugger is like on the tour's team,
so he's always trying to make them all look better all the time.
It reminds me of like in, oh, my God, where, what's the movie then?
Oh, Pulp Fiction where he's like, oh, you're sending the fucking wolf?
Like, the wolf is coming.
It's like, you're sending Slugger?
Oh, shit.
All right.
Sluggers, um, Slugger's also the one who said during Patrick Reed's whole situation where he said
afterwards that, uh, that Patrick Reed was what?
He said he's like, you know, I believe him or that he's had a,
very honest approach or whatever the hell he said. But he has, like, Slugger is sort of the guy
that bridges where he's always out there kind of protected the guys. Like, yeah, I have to enforce
the rules, but I will never go as far as to say these guys are cheating. Like, oh, it always was
like a little infraction that they didn't know about. So Slugger's kind of playing a little bit of both
sides, which I like, but him and this Martin Slumbers, like Martin Slumbers might fucking hate Slugger
White because he's always on like the Thor got inside. But those two guys know about each other for
shirt and there's no way that they like Bryce and Eishambo. But those two names. I love Slugger White,
man. I love that this guy's whole life is devoted to just enforcing the rules of golf. Like there's
a quote where he's like, when I'm called in to help with a ruling, I try to keep it impersonal. There's
no face on a golf ball. It's just like this dude is all business. It says he's never been late to work.
I don't know what that means. A series of Slugger White statements that are like Chuck Norris jokes,
I would be all
Yes
Yes
Yes
It was
Slugger White said
Reed was a
gentleman
When informed
Of the infractions
So that was the line
That he used
I'm texting you guys
A picture of Slugger White
That's just such a good
Picture of Slugger White
It's one of the first pictures
That pops up on Google image
But he's just
It didn't
Not walkie talkie like
Just ready to
Official some rules
I'd love to talk to Slugger White
Slugger White's never been on this show
Right?
No
No.
Nah, I'd love to talk to Slugger White.
We got to be able to get Slugger White.
They're like.
What the hell is Slugger White's fucking schedule looking like?
We got to be able to get him on here.
I mean, that kind of laugh out.
So whatever is.
Laugh out loud funny, how good this guy is.
Another thing that's laugh out loud funny, how good it is.
CBDMD.
Now, you talk a lot about golf, how mental it is,
means that the smallest issues can have a big impact on your scorecard.
means that even a little bit of a mental issue
could just explode Frankie's entire experience into,
you just never get it back.
You'll never get him back.
And everybody knows that.
We've all witnessed that a million times.
Getting a good night's sleep is important to prevent that,
to make sure none of that ever happens
that you're best prepared to play your best golf.
CBDMD wants to make sure you're getting the quality sleep that you deserve.
That's why they created CBD PM, actually out here.
We're out here right now in Colorado.
a high altitude.
It's very difficult to sleep.
You don't sleep the same.
You need something that's going to say,
hey, I got to be prepared tomorrow.
I got a lot of shit to do.
We've got to make this world go around.
We've got to try to create videos.
We've got to try to put out podcasts.
We've got to try to run tournaments.
You all this shit to do.
I need a good night's sleep.
CBD PM.
They blend 500 milligrams of high quality CBD with melatonin,
Valerian root, which Trent is not the same as Valerian Steel.
Valerian root.
Camomile and other.
Go ahead.
Well, I was just, it's, it has to be the same.
They're the same name.
I mean, like, I know ones from a fictitious, you know, Game of Thrones world, but, like,
they're the same word, so they have to be the same thing.
In this sense, you're right.
They're the same thing because of how strong, you know, and important it is there is the
same that I would expect from my good friend in CBDMD.
So you're right.
They would, of course, use that.
I also love their little, you know, their little roller gel thing that you put on, that
relieves, makes your muscles feel much more relaxed, comfortable, to make it easier to get
all these good products to try CBD PM, any of the other CBDMD's high quality products,

And you need it on the golf course, by the way, because I,
I've had it on the golf course and no one is more embarrassing walking up to the first two than me.
I have a bony structure.
Everything cracks.
My back cracks.
My arms crack.
I look like I should be able to be somewhat athletic, but I'm not.
So when I wake up, especially if I play two or three rounds in a row, like three days, that third day, you guys all saw it up piners.
Which is when I took an abundance of CBD MD products.
I took the PM.
I took the roller gel on my elbows and my arms.
You've got torn elbow ligament.
I've got two torn elbows over here.
I got two torn shoulders.
For me to get ready for a game of golf,
I need to be able to be loose and limber.
And CBD gives you that cooling sensation.
And you need that.
When you wake up and sometimes a shower doesn't take,
like you get in the shower, like, oh, I feel great.
Like White Sox Dave, his shower didn't take when he was on TV that one time.
And then he got body by gum.
Got body by gum.
If you don't know what the hell we're talking about,
type in White Sox Dave Gumb on YouTube.
It's one of the funniest videos ever put out on the internet.
It's one of our bloggers in Chicago.
He got beat up by a piece of gum on TV.
And when that doesn't happen and you show up to that first,
you need that cooling sensation.
You need that feeling on your wrists and your joints and your elbows.
I mean, Lurch probably knows better than anyone.
You've got to get that body going.
And you need to feel limber.
And you also need to feel like that numbing.
Like you can't have that sharpness feel in the morning.
It's got to feel really.
round. I don't want triangles or squares.
I want circles.
Round is a huge term. It needs to feel round.
When you take that swing and it gets caught like a square trying to like rotate like a circle would.
That's where you got no chance.
Exactly. You need a little ointment to help your body move a little bit.
Pop in a gummy, you'll just feel good and it'll help you mentally.
You won't be thinking. You'll just be mellow and you'll just be going.
If anybody's out there got on the first thing, okay.
But if one thing, you've ever got on on the first T,
and just stood over a ball and pulled it hard left
because your body is tight as a tick,
then you need this stuff because it loses the light up.

I think golf my dad is straight for the first time.
You're cutting out.
You're talking about something nice, but you can't hear you.
You're a little underwater right now.
I know we asked.
You're talking about golf your dad,
It's going to be a very nice story.
I can't wait for it.
But we want you to be able to tell it properly and you sound like you're underwater.
Right when you started talking about it, you sounded like mashed potatoes.
Go ahead.
You got to tell you.
Oh, God.
I didn't agree with Frankie's mashed potato.
You sound like mashed potatoes comment, but it does sound like you're still underwater.
What's the trick?
There you go.
Yeah, you're golden.
Yes.
Dude, it was frustrating because on my end, you guys sounded like you're underwater,
but you kept saying that I sound like you're underwater, but you kept saying that I sound
like I was underwaller.
So it was very frustrating.
So where should I point the finger then?
I don't know.
As I said, I played golf with my father.
My dad for the first time in like, I don't know, several years.
I was trying to guess when the last time was.
But he used to be a golfer.
He got me into the game.
You know, we used to go to the driving range a lot and hit balls.
And it was just he loved golf, love watching golf.
But in his older years, he has gotten away from that.
He loves, he's an outdoorsman.
He's a hunter.
He's a fisherman.
He loves to go on long hikes.
Like he does these crazy nature hikes, which I talked about.
And that's pretty much all the outfit, all the gear that he has.
So we played golf yesterday.
We played out of TBC, Colorado.
Our guy, Bryce, he brought a bunch of us out there.
It was EBUG, Jake.
We had Dana.
We had Marty Mush, myself, my dad.
This brand new place, TPC Colorado, which is amazing.
I guess the architect was a sit.
It looked at you.
My God.
They just had a corned ferry tour event there like a week and a half ago.
It was a really, really good golf course.
It's only like a two and a half year old course.
And it was amazing.
The layout was awesome.
You could tell they had some throwbacks to some old school architects, some like template-type holes.
And it played like firm and fast.
They kind of built it to play pretty lynxie.
It was amazing.
I posted those photos.
It was that good.
Every hole was like, oh, my God.
There's another painting.
There's another postcard type hole.
So the course was phenomenal.
This guy liked art.
Schopeter, I guess, is his name.
He's a St. Louis architect, which I even know.
That's kind of like up and coming.
So I want to try to get him on the show.
But anyways, TBC Colorado is phenomenal.
And the main point of this, I get my dad out there.
And he plays the most old man dad golf that I've ever seen in my life,
which I'm so obsessed with and I haven't witnessed in such a long time.
But they have, because it's a cornfairy tour event.
You know, they have the rough is outrageous there.
I mean, to the point where, like, Beth Payton,
black type rough that they had in this golf course. And the only shot my dad has around the green is just the bump and run shot.
And so he kept trying to hit this pitching ledger eight iron bump and run shot from like 15 yards off the green of his rough.
And it would just go like 12 feet and just like die into the rough again every time. And it just reminded me so much of like pure dad golf.
But he also had, you know, he hadn't played. He said this his first round in probably over two years.
So on the T's like, you know, I don't want to hold everybody back. Don't worry about doing a match.
with me. I'm like, no, no, no, we'll take you and me and we'll play against these guys. First
hole is 610-yard par five. Cool. He has like eight feet for birdie. He has eight feet for
birdie. Almost makes par, or almost makes birdie, taps in for par. We like, end up,
went in the hole with a par net birdie on the first hole. And I'm like, holy shit,
that. And I made a bogey on the hole. So he clearly had his moments. And when he is in
those positions, and you all know this, when he is in those positions where he's like just
off the fringe with a little eight iron.
His bump and run game was diabolical.
Like it didn't matter if these greens were faster than like normal greens that he hasn't played
in three years.
None of that mattered.
He's just hitting these little bumps that go an inch off the ground and just skid
right up next to the hole.
And you're like, that was old man golf to a tee.
And he played it perfectly when he had the chance.
So it was great to witness.
And just like playing, being out there with your old man playing golf.
I know Frankie, you guys do it like every Monday whenever you get a chance.
It really is just the best.
And it was great to see him out.
there. But he plays old man golf and it was a beauty to watch. Yeah, it's amazing.
Yeah. Yeah. So we play on Mondays Rockville, Link, shout out those guys. They give my dad,
my girlfriend's dad. They give them the eight, like, they let us go out. And even when I can't
make it if I'm traveling, they're like, your dad and your girlfriend's dad are welcome, 830
T-time, there's carts waiting for them water there. It's just, it's amazing when people, when you
meet people at these golf courses, like what they'll do for you and how accommodating they are.
And they just love having people that love the game. And I know that they love the game,
especially my dad coming from the restaurant. He gets one day off the week. And it's just like he
loves going there to this club and playing. It's a little bit of a short course. So it plays like 6,300 yards.
So he loves that. Can't hit the ball far. And this morning we played real early. And he gets up there.
And I'm like, dad, just scratch the driver. Like you hit your three wood so well off the fairway because
he like crushes into it. And his driver, he hits, he's like, he hits, he's like, he hits, he's like, he hits
like 120 yards.
I'm like, you have to get rid of that.
Today he's teeing up this three wood really high.
I'm like about to say something.
I'm like, what is this?
He's going to miss the ball.
And he's striping draw three woods,
like 225 yards right down the middle.
And on the first hole,
he hits it and he goes,
wow!
And he's like hyping himself up.
He didn't miss a fair way today.
He shot like a 94.
I shot an 89.
He almost beat me today.
And at one point,
I shot a 46 on the front.
I was so bad.
I'm like, Dad, you tied me on the front nine.
When's the last time he done that?
And he goes,
right up the top of the day.
He goes,
once's the last time I played that bad.
Like, he was all cocky instead.
Like, walking up to the next day.
I'm like,
relax.
I'm like,
you haven't broken 50 in two months.
Like, let's fucking relax.
Like, you got a 46th on front.
He's already on the next day.
He's hitting a drive.
Stripes when he goes,
look at me.
I'm like, all right.
Like, they're not allowing us here anymore.
They're not allowing us to club anymore.
You've ruined our fucking relationship.
You're embarrassing us.
No, but he had such a good day and,
like, shooting a good score for him.
He couldn't believe that, like,
everything kind of went well for him.
He's putting for pars.
It was so much fun.
That's the best.
Yeah, it was funny.
My dad, you know, it's a rental set that he got.
And he's, on the putting green, he pulls out the putter,
and it's like a spider, you know, huge, like club head on of this.
Just gone.
He's like, gone.
Spider, you got a spider.
Go ahead.
He got a spider, yeah.
Am I back?
Yeah.
All right.
So he's get the spider putter, and I see it on the practice screen.
I'm like, oh, I know he's not going to like that.
Try to say something to him.
but he's like kind of in his own world practice,
a little bump and runs.
And he kind of battles through the front nine.
He's, you know, he's playing, but he didn't putt very well.
And finally, after, like, on the 10th green, he, you know,
misses a butt, and he just comes over and just goes,
what is this fucking putter?
This thing sucks.
He's an old school guy.
He needs, like, that flat old school putter.
So I let him putt with mine the rest of the time.
And every time I would hand it to him or share the putter, he goes,
yeah, that other putter.
I don't know, what of that goofy thing, whatever.
He just, like, hated him.
but he drove the ball great like his swing that he's hitting like these low draws drove it
phenomenally and uh and it's just still in there i guess it shouldn't say old man gov it's like dad
golf he played like classic dad golf and the bump and run is such dad golf and i love that shot
i wish i had it i look at everything and it's like no i just go to a wedge and like if it's a tight
shot it just like like put it in the back of my stance and slam down on it but like i wish i had that little
like hybrid through the rough that just you put it like they put it through the rough and it just
trickles up there and then worst case scenario they have like eight feet for whatever they're going
to go for it's like it's never bad where you punish yourself and it screams through the green or you
chunk it and leave it short so you just have to improve your loss sometimes i'll be under a tree
and i have a seven iron in my hand and i just hit that nice little punch out into the fairway and i
think to myself how come i don't do that when i'm 20 30 yards off the green just you can't
You can't miss hit it.
It's a perfect pitch, and it rolls right up to the hole.
It's stunning.
Oh, and then one last thing I will say, we were playing with this guy, the super there,
and he hits a fucking phenomenal shot onto the green right next to the hole.
And everyone's congratulating him.
Look at this thing.
I had check, and I see my dad, like, smirking.
I see him smirking because he has the same yardage shot, and he's like 80 yards away,
and he's on an up-slop.
I'm like, wait for this fucking thing to hit this green.
And he's like, wow, he goes, how could you be so lucky to Luke?
He's like, I can't believe that shot.
And he's like smirking as he's getting ready for it.
I'm like, oh, fuck.
And I didn't have enough time to run over there and get a camera.
I knew it was coming.
He hits this fucking thing.
I saw it take a divot to.
And he takes a divot plus the blades, like the grooves on this thing.
It hits the back of this green and fucking came back 25 feet, sat on like the lip of the
hole.
And everyone's like, oh, dude, people are.
don't know this club are like holy
shit how did that
thing just spin back the length
of the green like you guys wouldn't believe
the spin this guy gets
it's so good and it's so good to me
just like plunk your pops and like his little smirk smile
like standing over there he's kind of like a smaller dude
just hitting it up there and just laugh
laughing his ass off the most illegal golf club
in the world
it's a video game he just knows it's coming
he knows it's coming every time and amidst it
to no one right never
will tell anybody about the club.
He just says thanks for the good shot or thanks for the club.
Yeah, he usually puts it face down on the green.
Like, you can't see that.
Little does he know that we tell on him everybody.
We tell everyone that he has that club.
Oh, man.
It's so fucking bad.
Dad golf is something, man.
I think we could all take a little piece of dad golf to our games.
We don't need to be hitting these wedges perfectly next to the holes with spinning them back.
We can take these seven iron bombs.
bump and runs off the greens.
We should be able to do that.
It works for them for a reason.
I mean, dads can put with those little mini-golf putters that you can putt both weights.
We don't need fucking $500 putter sometimes.
You just need to be able to get the thing back and forward.
That's what they say.
It's all about just getting the ball and all.
I played with the guy, Riggs and I played with this guy Newman.
And I don't know if I shared this on this podcast, but he'd be like, hey, would you shoot?
He'd just say six try.
Like his whole thing was just like, oh, it took seven tries.
So, like, would you score on that all six tries?
five tries, four tries.
I love that.
Every time you're just trying to get the ball in the hole.
And like, ad golf is a good way to get it close.
I'll tell you that.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was just great to witness.
I missed ad golf.
It is, and they live to tell it to you, too.
You know, like when you try to, like, flop one up there and it only gets like a third of the way to the hole,
and they're like, I think that's a bump and run shot there.
They just like love to drop that the whole time.
So it was beautiful to win.
It's playing golf with your dad at the bat.
So it was a great time.
Colorado's been a good time.
And I think that's all I got.
So you got any of them?
With the way the world is, it'll be very hard to set up.
But here's another thing that's popped them ahead.
If everyone played like a two-man dad scramble or something,
like see how well we would do.
I don't know.
I know I would be in trouble.
Wow.
But it would be very, very funny to see how good or bad our duos would be.
What are you just saying?
I think it'd be close.
To keep it a low punch kind of thing or like something but never does not.
No, I think you do like me and my dad are a scramble.
And then Riggs and his dad are like.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Like eight guys and one, you know, it's four.
It's one verse four, whatever, whatever it is.
One verse four or one verse one.
Or like an awesome shot would be hysterical because the fights that would break out about the decisions would be all time.
Because I was going to say if the dad's all were a scrambling.
team and we were, but we would crush them.
Right.
We'd kill them.
So you'd have to, you'd have, you'd have to fucking mix him up.
You would.
Oh, that would be a ton of fun.
People would love to see the four, the four play dad's scramble challenge.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
We're going to have to make that happen.
I think my dad would love that.
He'd be very into that.
Yeah.
So hopefully the world can get like okay for all these old people to get together and play golf.
All right.
That's all I got.
We'll be back on Thursday for our second show of the week.
Have a good one.
Have a good week.
And hit it hard.
Hit it hard.
Hit it hard.
