All the time and look at, you know, there's stuff that they post.
Some of it's, like, absolutely stupid, but some of it's actually quite amusing and funny.
Stuff like that is what we need to get people to attract people to the game of golf.
Nice to be here, boys.
Congratulations on all that you're doing as mediocre as it is.
These newer, younger, hipper platforms like Barstool Sports.
Tigers had three back surgeries.
He's had one fusion.
We welcome in from Barstool Sports.
Riggs and Trent.
Guys, welcome to the show.
Foreplay presented by Barstool Sports.
I'm trying to talk slowly because I know how animated this is going to get.
This is maybe the most anticipation we've ever had to do a show.
Frankie actually, he looked at me when we were getting ready to go in the studio and he actually clapped.
Yeah.
He's like, are you ready?
and clapped and was like, let's fucking go.
I think the word that I'm using for my emotions right now is I'm jazzed.
You said jazzed a lot.
Yeah, I feel like the jazz notes are just flying off my chest right now.
I feel...
It's hard to blame you, Frankie.
There is just...
Yesterday was everything in the world that we've been begging for for years now,
minus the cherry on top.
It's the only little thing that was missing.
We got like 99% of what we've wanted.
It was fucking awesome
There's a lot to break down
We have on this show
This is a very special show
We have Taylor Ford on
Who is the caddy for Stuart Sink
He was on briefly
When we had Stu on a couple months ago
He, the two of them were kind of riffing back and forth
A little bit
But he was inside the ropes
With Tiger and Stu on Saturday
And then they were playing like a group in front of Tiger
On Sunday
So he talks all about the roars
All about the Ewers.
All about the Ears.
atmosphere inside with Tiger.
We also get a bunch of good nuggets about
player caddy conversations between him and Stu
over certain shots and how they panned out
and kind of Stu's approach to playing with Tiger
and how he wanted to beat him and all that stuff.
So it's actually a fascinating interview that we did with Taylor.
That's coming up in the second half of the show.
Oh, man. Tiger Woods.
Brooks Kepka.
I mean, there's just, there's a lot.
I have to be honest.
There's a lot.
There's a lot.
There's a lot to get to.
We're going to start it off by saying that I'm very proud of us boys because we have gotten very much into style lately.
And now Trent Daddy, of course, has been wearing the same thing over and over again.
I have been.
But the rest of us have been basically dabbling nonstop in our Peter Malar gear.
Yeah.
I actually got a couple of compliments this week from my friends who back home in St. Louis.
as in my hometown, who I hadn't seen since Christmas.
And they were like, you look, like, you look really good.
You never had, you never had any style.
Like, what is going on here?
Now, a combination is I'm really tan because I played a lot of golf.
I'm outside a lot.
But also my Peter Malar gear is just popping.
Now, what people got to understand is the deal that we're giving them is outrageous.
You go to petermalar.com slash four.
We give you a free hat, okay, a free Peter Malar hat, and complimentary shipping.

That's petermalar.com slash four.
You get all this good stuff.
Now, look, Petermalar polo shirts, they're so comfortable.
How could you even play golf or anything else?
I don't know.
What would you be doing?
What are you thinking if you're playing golf and something else?
It doesn't make any sense.
It's so soft to your body.
It's like you're not wearing anything.
It is.
It's like, I also saw, I was walking around.
I saw Brandon Grace who was rocking a Piedel Milar shirt.
He looks fantastic.
He looked great, and he was out of the,
he was in the right.
rough and I was thinking like man that's going to be a struggle and obviously he's wearing
peter malar's hot outside he looked comfortable he looked uh you know at loose no restrictions he just
fired it right at the flag from there I was like that's my sponsor right there that's
peter mallor just a great it was an awesome shirt it was an awesome shirt it's like a green and blue shirt
uh they got this the other thing is that and we said this last time but with the penalar stuff
we've always thought about the polos maybe even the quarter zips but they're shorts their pants
Even Trent Daddy, who only wears pants now, for whatever weird reason?
I got a bunch of their pants, yeah.
He just got a ton of their pants, and he's like, okay, I'll be honest.
These are the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.
It's true.
They're T-shirts.
I'm wearing that gray t-shirt with the stripes.
It's got two different colors of gray.
Oh, yeah.
I wear it, like, twice a week because it's so awesome.
And it's that awesome material, so I actually, you know, I probably should wash it more,
but I don't always do my laundry twice a week or once a week or even, like, once a month.
So anyways, their stuff, they've got the shorts, the quarters-zips, the shirts, the
shirts, the polos, the pants, all of their stuff is the best.
You go to petermalar.com slash four.

They're getting me a free hat.
So go to Petermalar.com.
for okay the golf tournament the pga championship there's just so much to break down from you know
myself and logan we were there we were inside the ropes for a little bit then it came back we
watched it on tv tiger the start all of that i want to kick it off by talking about brooks kepka
just to get it out of the way yep okay i have to apologize to brookes kebka because why is that
we're being very mean to him on twitter yesterday just i was just saying many times i don't
almost tweeted I fucking hate you Brooks Kevka.
I think I did.
But I, but that's just not.
I was actively responding to people who were responding to my tweets being like, come on,
and focus on Brooks.
I was telling them, no, you should be rooting for Tiger.
You should not be rooting for Brooks.
Yeah, look, you know, I guess I don't regret the things that I said, but I do, I feel like
I, those weren't necessarily in the grand scheme of things truthful to say that I hate
Brooks Keppka.
They were moments of passion, I think is what we can call them.
I just, I wanted them to fucking fuck up so badly.
I wanted them to make a double.
I wanted him to like, I was actively rooting for bad things to happen to that person.
I wrote, I hope Brooks Kepka's headphones are forever tangled.
And I think that's the meanest thing I've ever written about anyone.
And that's right up there.
Like, I want you to stub your toe.
That's right up there with right of that.
I want you to burn the roof your mouth.
You're watching this guy just, he's nailed.
Well, it's like he doesn't know what tournament's going on around him.
So when you're watching him, you're like, he's not going to fuck up.
And it's the most horrifying thing to watch when you want him to do.
He did go boogie bogey at four and five.
But even that was like, here we go.
All right.
That was huge.
I was like, oh, my God.
This is happening, and Tiger was on fuego.
It was, even though he's hitting the ball over the fucking planet.
It felt a little bit like Carnusty when the front night almost was going perfectly in Tiger's way.
And then he turned into Brooks Keppka again and just birdie, birdie, birdie, and just completely locked it down.
Look, the guy's a machine.
You're right.
Frankie's right.
It just felt like he was never not going to win, really.
Even when Tiger was buzzing, it was like, we need, it just, we need something to happen that just doesn't happen to this guy.
For whatever reason, he's just a machine.
He was fucking pounding the golf ball.
He's got a gorgeous putting stroke for such a big meat stick that he looks like.
And then he's got this just silky putting stroke.
His arms are going to explode.
How do you put like that with those arms?
They look at two balloons on the box.
They were bigger this weekend than they've been all year.
They just something about this weekend.
I was hoping for someone to just place dumbbells across the golf course just to distract them.
Like maybe he'll see it shining in the distance and he'll just go do a bunch of curls.
You're right.
He looks like one of those balloon characters that a clown makes at a party.
That's what his arms
If I were to make a golfer on Tiger Woods
I would make him with arms that size
Like comically large
Clap out loud funny large
His name would be Brooks
Exactly
That's 100% correct
He's insane looking
It's just this weekend
He looked way bigger than usually
I don't know what was going on with that guy
He so he has won three of the last seven major championships
Three of the last six that he's played in
He even playing the Masters
Because he had him
I think it banged up wrist
Is that what his situation was
So he's won three out of last six majors
That he's played him
Which includes two US opens obviously
and which also now includes the PGA Championship,
taken down Tiger Woods down the stretch.
He was unflappable.
It was so frustrating.
It's incredibly impressive.
Don't get me wrong.
I, and look, I guess what I would like to say is that what Brooks Kepka has done on the golf course
deserves nothing but high praise.
Having said that, he is incredibly boring.
He's not only boring, but he is seemingly reluctant for the spotlight,
despite winning three of the last seven majors.
There's one thing, too, that I guess is going towards me actually saying, not only am I just, like, disinterested in him, but I may not like him or I have a little bit of dislike for him is that he back-to-back years after winning the U.S. Open declined my close personal friend, USGA's media tour that they do.
So, for example, like when he wins at Shinnock, they have like a helicopter ready to fly him to New York and then he's going to get out at, like, the Empire State Building, and he's going to do those pictures that like Patrick Reed does after he wins the Masters.
then he's supposed to go on and do like Jimmy Fallon and he's supposed to go do the Today Show.
And then when you get to those, you know, appearances and all that, you get a couple viral clips that come out and they show some character and you promote.
You talk about how much when the U.S. Open means to you and how it changes your life.
And my good close personal friend, USGA is excited because they're getting good press coverage.
You're excited because you're like growing your brand and your personality and all that.
He just turned it down both years in a row.
He didn't do anything.
It makes me more scared of him.
He's just a machine.
He doesn't care about attention.
He doesn't care about press.
He doesn't care about Jimmy Fallon.
He just cares about winning golf tournaments and being extremely, extremely strong.
Which, again, I understand that there's a certain level of, like, I kind of respect that he's doing his own thing.
However, you know, he was saying to, and people kept tweeting, and a couple journalists were writing little stories about how he has made comments that he uses it for motivation that, like, people just don't care about him or that he's underrated or that he's underd disgust.
People don't talk about him much.
But that's a function of his own doing.
when you win these tournaments, dude, you have the opportunity for a week or two
where you are the story.
You're the major champ.
You can go out there and control it.
You can get yourself in front of people.
You can like try to win over the fans and all that by being yourself, showing some charisma
and whatever.
And he hasn't done any of that.
This is exactly what the MLB is dealing with with Mike Trout.
Yep.
So everyone keeps saying for the past couple of years that the MLB doesn't know how to market Mike, Mark, Mark, uh...
Market Mike Trout.
Market Mike Trout.
Market Mike Trout.
Market Mike Trout.
You got it.
Market Mike Trout.
And he just, he's always in the last.
I'm like now he's in the All-Star game, he's leading off.
He's all over the place, and he just doesn't do media.
He doesn't give a fuck.
Same with Brooks Kepka.
We're giving him every opportunity, like you just said.
I mean, that's insane.
I didn't even know that he was doing this, that he was denying it.
I don't know anything about Brooks Kepka.
It's crazy.
And it's a bummer because it takes away from when he's, he has stolen the life out of three
major championships now.
He really has.
He just sucked the life out of him.
Shinnecock was supposed to be this epic finish with Fleetwood with DJ.
Even Patrick Reed was making a run.
guys were floundering on it, suck the life out of it.
His boring asses and giant arms just waltzing down the fairway, sucking the life out of it.
He doesn't even make the holes interesting because he hits it 350 right down the middle and the
hole's just over.
It's like he can't not hit a good shot for there.
It's just over right off the tee.
He did the same fucking thing last year.
It's like, dude, give us a chance, man.
Like give, you know, we don't have a chance with this guy with this giant machine walking
down the middle of the fairway.
It was so frustrating what he did.
And again, it's, it's, I respect it.
It's great, but I don't root for it, and I will not be happy if he does this again.
It's certainly not hashtag good for golf.
It's cool that he's winning these tournaments.
He's winning all these majors.
But it's like, if you're not going to be interesting, you're not really helping the game of golf in any way.
And maybe he doesn't think that's his responsibility.
He's just like, I'm going to win my tournaments.
I'm going to make a bunch of money and I don't care about anything else.
But it's going to shift the focus to a guy like Tiger who comes up second and he's going to grab all the headlines and nobody's going to pay attention to Brooks.
Remember last year, Darren Hill?
It was like J.T. was in the mix.
Ricky was in the mix.
Even Brian Harmon was in the mix.
We had all this cool action going on after JT's 63 on Saturday with that three wood.
We were the eagleed the 18th.
And we didn't hate J.T. yet at this time.
So it's kind of this excitement going on?
Those were good times.
And then Brooks Kepka just sucked a life lot of that fucking tournament.
Who's with this guy?
Is it fair to say he's similar to what Tiger used to do in tournaments where you just knew he wasn't going to lose?
But he's just the total opposite of it.
Like, you know he's not going to lose it.
There's just no entertainment value.
There's no position.
and anything that he does in his game
so no one cares about it. That's kind of what
yeah, a lot of people were saying like he basically did to
the tournament what Tiger Woods used to do to tournaments.
People fucking fell in love what Tiger was doing
because he's fucking awesome. He's got a flare.
He's got the fist bump. He's interesting.
He's an electric factor. Brooks is the complete opposite.
Yeah, he's a snooze fest.
So anyways, that was Brooks Kebka.
Now, let's get to the real star of the show.
Tiger fucking Woods. And also, while
we transition to that, it's like, this is
why people are, he's, like, Tiger
is grabbing the headlines today. I kind of said it before,
where it's like, yeah, we'd love to be interested in Brooks
if he was shot out of a cannon
and awesome quotes and excited about winning,
but he's not. So we gravitate to Tiger Woods,
who is an electric factory.
Right. If, like, Rory had won,
we would be talking way more about Rory than we are about Brooks.
100%.
But it's, like, because Rory is, you know, he's got it.
He's awesome. He's fun to watch.
He's just, he's candid.
He has interesting things to say.
Brooks Kepka is a snooze fest.
So Tiger Woods, what a fucking interesting tournament this was.
at the beginning, the first nine holes he played
was the least inspiring nine holes I think I've ever seen.
He came out, he bogies the first,
then he has the worst double on the second hole,
which is actually the 11th hole that I've ever seen
where you're like chunks of wedge into the water
on the easiest hole on the golf course,
and you're like, this is the same guy
that's coming off the two shitty weekend rounds at Firestone.
Now he comes out of the PGA,
which like everyone's saying you've got to hit fairways
and the people are going to go low.
Tiger kind of wins tournaments
when they're usually tough and he can kind of, you know,
he can outsmart people, pars are good scores, all of that.
So nothing was setting up well for him.
Then he comes out three over through two.
I think his front nine, he actually posted like three over on his first nine.
So you're like, we're out of the goddamn tournament.
Somehow he got it in an even par.
I don't know how that's even possible.
The only word for that was that he grinded.
It was amazing.
We were watching here at the office.
He was just, he was grinding.
It was all over the golf course.
He was on the green and three, and he was making putts,
And he was just like, he was in the woods, and he was like, he had bad lies and his back was all over the place.
And it was, I felt like I watched Tiger for two years in that, in that one round.
I think he did.
I think he aged like five years.
It was crazy.
We all did.
And then he turns it around.
He comes out.
He posts a four under 66 on Friday.
Gets himself back into the tournament.
You're thinking like, okay.
You know, those guys where I think they were at like 10.
Yeah, I think Woodland was at 10.
Kiz was at 9, so you're thinking like, all right, he's not too far out.
Then Saturday, again, he posts a fantastic round.
He posts another 4 under on Saturday, where the back 9 could have been, I mean, he could have made four or five more birdies.
He couldn't make anything.
He had the three jack on 17.
This, of course, was the day that I was inside the ropes with Tiger.
Let's talk about that a little bit because I just got the chills even you saying that.
Saturday.
So essentially what happened was, I.
You know, I arrive on property Thursday.
I missed all of Tigers round due to those motherfuckers at American Airlines.
I didn't even want to get you going on that.
Yeah, we should probably just keep going.
It's unavoidable.
What a fucking shit show that was.
What's wrong with those people?
That noise he makes he made in the video just for like 10 straight seconds.
I mean, I laughed my ass off.
Flew you away from their hub.
What is wrong with those people?
They flew me from their hub.
You have a job.
Then do it.
another two of just a less like they just have less action going on down in dc and they just flew
me down there and then just left me there like i i told them as like no no you guys were like
in my dms you help me out you told me this is the right thing you flew me down here then you
cancel my flight and then they were like well technically it's due to air traffic controller
issues so we can't we can't cover anything like hotel rental car nothing they couldn't cover anything
And they're like, we can't get you out until you're going to land in St. Louis at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
And it's like 9 p.m. on Wednesday. I'm like, that's not an option. That doesn't work.
What do they mean we can't? That's what I don't understand. What do you mean you can't cover everything? You will.
And then at this point, Frankie, they just like, they just like told me to move away from the desk.
Can you give us sense? And for the people at home of, like, because you're not up for the bullshit.
Ever. Never.
So this is a big old pile of bullshit put on your point.
play it how actually matter you at these people i was i was furious i was so furious and like i said i was
i was sitting here doing my like i i like i like i like to debate with people and like get into it with
people i don't mind that i don't shy away from that so this guy's like feed me back and i'm going back
out i'm like no no dude this doesn't make sense here's this issue here's this issue here's this
issue here's how i ended up here now you guys have to deal with this like i'm here i don't have any
other options. And the guy just, he literally was just like, all right, sir, like move away from
the desk. And I'm like, no, you haven't done anything. There's been no, we don't have
a resolution. He's like, excuse me, sir, you're going to have to take two steps back and stand
behind the yellow line because you're starting to make us a little, it was crazy. And then he's
like, yeah, no, we have you on a flight tomorrow afternoon, sir. It was a triple flight. It was like,
I had to go from D.C. to Censi, Cincinnati to Chicago, Chicago to St. Louis. And I get in at
like 11 p.m. I was like, what are you guys talking about? That's not, we're not doing that.
So it was a fucking scene
What was the what was how did how did you get to St. Louis?
So what happened was this so I flew to DC got stranded in DC and then I was freaking out on Twitter obviously
And people were like you should drive that'd be epic
I was like I'm gonna fucking drive Tiger T's off in 12 hours
It's like a 13-ish hour drive I can make it
Let's do it I saw someone tweet at you like Riggs I'd done that and I ended up throwing up when I got there
He said I was sick for three days after that laugh out funny tweet
He goes, Riggs, I did the same thing to make a buddy's trip.
And he's like, I was so juiced up for the first two hours.
By the time I got there, I was, like, vomiting from, like, dehydration and how tired I was.
I had the worst three days at all time.
So anyway, so I was like, let's book a, let's just rent me a car.
I got to get going fast.
I'm going to drive straight there.
I've done, I've done 20 hours before from St. Louis to Boston.
I could do this.
And the rental car was $1,600.
Jesus.
What?
That's what I said.
I don't know if it was an office manager at Brett issue because he was like, yeah, I got you this nice
SUVs. I was like, Brett, I need like a
Toyota Corolla.
That would be, Toyota Corolla would be
like nice. You give me like a
Ford Fiesta. There you go.
Anything. I don't know what you're talking about
there, Brett. So. Rickishy shot for the Ford Fiesta.
I thought I was going low with the Toyota Corolla.
Ford, that was a compliment. You're looking for a small compact
vehicle that you can drive 13 hours. I really hope
we're not looking for a Ford sponsor. I know.
So essentially
then somebody tweeted at me
and was like, you know, you could probably just book another
airline. Now, I want to say that in my video, I said that I just never thought about that.
And that's why, and then we decided to do it, but, which is true to a degree, but also what
happened was those fuckers in American Airlines told me, the guy at the desk told me, he's like,
sir, there's just no other options except for that afternoon flight. We've even looked at all
the other airlines. We're looking at other airlines. And I was like, oh, okay. And that was just a
lot. That's just, they just weren't doing that. That's the meanest thing anyone could do.
We just went on Google flights. And they were just,
a bunch of options to just fly up to St. Louis.
So that's what office manager Brett then booked me,
just totally different airline.
I had to go a quick layover through CINC and I ended up getting in at like 1130 or something.
A.m.
A.m.
And then I missed,
but I mostly missed Tigers round.
I landed,
got my rental car,
buzzed over there.
Media a lot.
Incredibly convenient.
Media a lot.
You jump right in.
You hop onto the bus.
They shut it right over.
Boom.
So I actually right when I got there,
I caught Tiger's gaggle.
chat, which we talked about in the last podcast that we put up on Friday.
Did all of our media stuff.
We got a bunch of good stuff with, obviously, with Kiz, with Bryce and Deschambeau,
which we'll get to some of that stuff.
But then, you know, I was kind of like media centering it up, you know, like we did at
Chinook on Friday.
And then on Saturday, it was, you know, it was going to be, we were kind of treating
it like kind of a buddy's day.
I got my brother and all my best buddies from home.
We're all going to the PGA.
They bought their tickets literally a year before.
Tickets went on sale a year before.
They had their tickets for a year.
They're all jacked up.
It's like, let's go.
We had a fun night, Friday night.
Get there Saturday morning, and they had to finish the whole round from Saturday.
So we caught, like, a little bit of the end of Friday's round.
And then we decided to, we were going to post up on the 12th hole.
We had, like, this sweet spot on the 12th hole.
13th is a part 3.
So we're on the 12th fairway.
You can see the guys hit their approach shots into the 12th green, and then they walk to
the part 3, and it goes directly away from us.
So you can also see directly behind the guys.
where we're standing, there are T shots on the part three.
So if they hit like a little cut in there, a little draw, you can just see it perfectly.
So you're like, this is a sweet spot and there was like no crowds there really compared to the rest
of the course.
Like, this is a great spot.
Like, we're not going to battle those tiger crowds.
Like, those people are idiots.
Like, let's just do this.
And then we heard Tiger birdied one and two.
And the third green was like 100 yards over.
We'll just run over and catch him on the third grade.
Like, we'll just do that.
And we like peeking through these trees and saw them on three.
And then we just battled the crowds for the next two hours and followed them on the front nine.
And it was electric.
Like running, like every time he hit a shot, we would just start sprinting and like sprinting around.
Nobody gives a fuck about the other guys in this group when they hit.
It's like everyone's running around.
So we're like running.
After witnessing it, especially at that magnitude, do you think that it affects the players that are playing with Tiger?
You know, like JT complain.
I think it's almost that the crowds are so big that no, because they blend together.
Whereas like if it was like two guys running around, it'd be distracting.
But when it's like 5,000 people running around, it's kind of white noise.
Right, exactly.
It's like the same theory of like on the first tee of the Ryder Cup.
If it was like one person who yelled out in your back swing, it would fuck you up.
But when it's 20,000 people yelling consistently, it's fine.
Yeah, I mean, people are tweeting from the golf course that it sounded like stampedes were going.
But actually, you could actually hear the footsteps.
Look, you know, people overdo it and Big Cat loves to make fun of the St. Louis fans.
And like, because I think he gets jealous that he knows Chicago fans are kind of shitty and not as good as St.
Lewis fans. No bias here either. And the Bartman thing and all that, there can be scumbags up there in
Chicago. No bias. I'm just, this is just guys talking. This is just we're just talking.
You're just reporting. The fans in St. Louis were insane. It was a loudest golf term I've ever
heard. It was crazy. I don't know what happened. I don't know where the people came from. I don't know
if it was just, Belarieve is just tighter and smaller. What was that? Belarreeve. Yeah, there you go.
I saw the crowds were so good in St. Louis that I saw people taking shots. Was it Stan Crunky?
Yeah. Who took the war. He's like, well, you said this was a baseball town.
didn't have enough fans like look at this shit like that's how good the crowds were they're
taking shot at an owner who removed their football team from the city and every st louis account
that i follow is just tweeting all the quotes from tiger and from kefka talking about how awesome the fans
were and i got to say like a lot of times i think this stuff gets overblown and the the fans were
insane but in such a positive way like they were insane at chinicock but it's new york fans so it's
like we're inside the ropes like some of the shit they're yelling at people it's like holy shit
right which i think that's fine it's a sporting event but it's not a lot of it's not
as friendly and fun for the players.
St. Louis, the crowds were nuts.
They were so fucking loud.
It was like the roars were deafening.
Like the tiger roars, when he hit one in tight, were deafening.
We were, I was on, so what happened was on.
I could damn near cry right now.
I just got chills that just ran.
When he hit tight on three on Sunday, that's like the loudest of fucking ever.
I couldn't believe it.
So let's have, let's pipe that noise in right now.
That roar on number three, when I heard that, when I was watching to you,
TV live. I was like, are my eyes missing? Did that go in? Because that's how loud that
roar was. I don't know if it could have been loud. I don't know if that ball went in the hole
if it could have been louder. That's the type of roar where every single person that's standing
there is screaming at the top of their lungs. No one is, no one's missing out on the roar.
Screaming. Did I have a guy tweet at me? He goes, he's like, Riggs. I was standing in the second,
on the second fairway when that roar and he goes, it shook. He's like, it floored us on
the second hole. We were like, holy, he's like, we, he was like, we thought.
We thought he aced it.
It was so loud that we were like Tiger had to have just made a-
Do you imagine being another golfer?
That's what I was thinking.
That's around the golf course.
And you know tigers in that area and you hear that fucking roar.
You must be like.
And they know.
Well, all fuck.
That's a Jordan Speed being like I looked.
Like, I just heard that.
He's hitting his three wood out of the fucking rough again.
And his brain's broken by tiger.
And they know, like a tiger war, everyone just knows that it's a tiger war.
It's like when you're American and you go overseas,
you can dress like the locals, no matter what everyone knows your
American. Everyone knows that that's a Tiger Roar. Like, you can just tell. So my first real
experience of like a real Tiger Roar this week at St. Louis was on this Saturday where we did
this whole thing. We're fouling Tiger. I didn't see any birdies. But then after the fifth hole,
he hit his tee shot on six. He hit it there to like 15 feet or something like that. And as he was
teeing off, I was like, all right, I got to buzz. My phone was getting dead. I was like, I got to
buzz up to the media center. And I'm going to try to get an inside the ropes pass.
Because Kiz was playing in the final group, Tiger.
I was like, it's going to be unreal.
So I'm walking up the ninth fairway, back up towards the media center when Tiger hit his putt on six.
And it was, that was, we were probably three holes over because like six, seven, eight.
And then all the way over to nine, they all kind of go like side by side.
So it kind of far away.
The roar was stunning.
Like everyone in our area turned and looked and like started clapping because we knew, we like knew it was.
Tiger.
You're just walking, you see the media center, and you just hear it, you're jumping.
Oh, what just happened?
Yeah.
And it's like a roar followed by like a long applause.
Like people don't just roar and then stop.
Like they roar and then keep clapping.
The other thing that like Brooks Keppka was talking about yesterday was one of my favorite
quotes where he was like, there are tiger roars.
He's like, and then you hear what he was calling trickle roars where they update the
scoreboards on the holes getting closer to the 18th.
And every time they update the.
The tiger made a birdie.
There would be a roar on those holes for all those people that sat there and waited all day for Tiger to come through.
Oh, my God.
We kind of, I kind of experienced that on my Sunday in Augusta because you really have no phones there.
So whenever they would change.
And I remember that day when Sergio was tied after going into 18.
When they put up Sergio being tied, I was like, holy, the whole place went fucking nuts.
So I can I can picture what the Tiger ones can almost be like.
And it's similar because you might as well have no phones because the service is horrific.
Yeah, I saw you complain about that all weekend.
You think it was because of the amount of people that were there.
When you get that many people in, there's nothing works.
If you were at Chinnacock, and, I mean, it was bad, but I mean, you could still get stuff up.
There was times, there were spots where you couldn't.
But I will say at Belrieve, it was awful.
And I think, too, it's like a couple of my buddies, or a couple of my buddies who have played Belrieve that live in that area in St. Louis.
They were like, usually when you play even Belreve, like, you might get into some fairways where you don't have good service on a normal day playing Bel Reef.
So they're like, then you pack 50,000 people in there.
And you just had, like, you had legitimately no service.
So nobody had any clue until they put those boards up for the most part.
What the hell was going on?
So the wars were great.
So anyways, so then Saturday, I text my buddy at my new friend, PJ of America.
And I'm like, hey, you know, kids, we've covered him more than anybody over the last year.
He's in the final group.
I'd love to get it inside the road pass.
So he's like, no problem.
Meet me.
And I was like, let's go.
So I did
I buzzed in there
Grabbed it
Tiger was literally
Coming up nine as I got it
Which is right next to the media center
So I was like well
I'll buzz out
I'll catch Tiger for a hole
I'll see how Kiz is doing
And then I'll double back and catch up with kids
And Kiz was like two or three over
He was kind of like shooting himself out of the tournament
And I meet up with Tiger
On the ninth green he comes walking up
And I'm standing like
20 feet behind him
Now we watched you in Shinnock
The way you were able to maneuver yourself
As the credentialingian member
of our friend of the USGA.
Yeah, you're a madman.
Now, did you, getting to this part that you're about to say, did you do the same thing at the PGA knowing that Tiger Woods was on the other side of the road?
Because we said that we're like, man, I wish he had these passes when Tiger was, but I don't know if I would be that brash.
This was, you're nervous.
You're trying so hard not to be noticed in this moment.
You're like, I just want to be like, you're basically like, I want to be an invisible ghost.
And I have this experience, but don't have anyone know that I'm here.
That's a great lesson that we learned at Chinnecock then, because when we walked over the bridge with Dustin Johnson,
to the 10th T, we were whooping up the crowd into a friend's thing.
Let me think about it.
Me and you walked up the fairway with Phil Mickelson at 18 at Chinookok.
Like the difference between Tiger and every other person in the world is probably astronomical in that sense of being a media member.
Yep.
Big time.
And the other thing is that with Tiger's press pool, with Tiger's situation, there's a massive press pool.
I'm talking massive.
So it's totally different when we're like, where are all these media people?
They're all with Tiger, too.
There were...
So at Chichinacondi, they all just
Go home with Tiger.
No joke, there were like 25 media people
following Tiger.
It was outrageous.
We were like our own pack.
So if you got out of that pack,
you stuck out, like a sore thump.
Yeah.
And it's also super intense
because even when we're like
inside the ropes of fill and stuff,
like not everyone's paying attention
to fill some galleries
were sparse on the sides
and stuff like that.
When you're inside the ropes with Tiger, dude,
it feels like you're skating across
center ice in a packed fucking stadium
in the Stanley Cup final.
Okay, okay, okay.
This is also, and I always bring up this point, Frankie, when you talked about how, like, we were all read the book, the Armicentatian book.
It was awesome.
The book's called Tiger Woods.
Tegris, that's what it's called.
A lot of people ask us that on Twitter.
They compare him to, like, Shakespeare, and then you get to, we get to excited watching him on TV, and you get to fucking walk.
And the road with him.
Yeah, essentially.
But we haven't got to that part yet.
He's on the ninth green.
I'm like a little child getting told a story right now.
Dude, so he's on the ninth green.
I kind of, like, see him up close in person for the first time.
Like, you know, I had seen him on the range, because you get pretty close on the range.
with your even in the normal media credential.
We're standing, like, right behind him on the range.
So, you know, like, that stuff was going well.
But then on the ninth, when he's, like, actually in there
and the crowds are forming, and the ninth hole is this giant amphitheater.
So, anyways, it comes up there, two puts really nicely,
and I kind of, like, mingle in with the other media.
We go over to the 10th T.
He hits a terrible T-shot on 10, and I'm like, oh, shit.
Like, like, am I bad luck?
I got to get out of here.
What's going on?
Hits a terrible T-shot on 10, but then our boy, Taylor and Stuart Sink come walking down,
and Taylor comes, like, walking over to the side,
gives me, like, a fist pump.
Oh, man.
He's like, Riggs, he made it in here.
He's like, we're having some fun.
I was like, yeah, this is pretty intense.
So we, like, walk down the 10th.
Tiger's, like, over in the right rough.
He lays up on 10,
then hits a wedge to, like, 12 feet.
And he's got, like, 12 feet for par.
And I walked all the way up,
and I, like, lay down on this hill, you know,
because you always try to get down to the fans.
You're not blocking the fans of you.
That's a pro inside the ropes move.
Yep.
And the fans, I will say, this is the one time.
the fans are vicious when you walk in front of them, they're pissed.
Like, they are pissed.
Yeah, we didn't see much of it in Shinnock, but I know if I was on, if I was on
outside of the ropes and I've been waiting all fucking day to see Tragal Woods walk by
and I see Riggs just like standing in front of me being like, totally.
Like they were, blocking my vision.
And they don't wait.
Like, they don't, they don't give you three or four seconds to walk out of the way.
The second that you're in their view, they just go, come on.
We've been, wait, we've been here for four hours.
I'm like, 110 to three.
I'm going to lay down.
relax like i just walk i just walked over here settled out so it's they want you to just come crawling over
like military stuff yes like you never want course full camo that's exactly what they want so anyway so i
i creep up and i i lay down on the 10th tiger's got like this 10 12 footer for par and he drains it
and gives like a fist pump and i gave like a let's go and i'm like in there with immediate people
sorry guys because like nobody's good i was so fucking juiced up
Do even the other media members abide to like, all right, no cheering?
They are very...
Because when Tiger is making pots like that, I feel like it's hard.
It comes from our...
It's not that they cheer, but they, like, they will scoff when he hits a bad one.
They'll be like, like, you know what I mean?
But they don't, when he makes one, they're not, like, they'll smile and stuff and
like, and then they, like, tap each other and they chat about how cool it was and stuff, but they don't cheer.
Whereas I was like, I was going bananas.
Your video on the media center was very funny.
That was, yeah, that was, that got daggers from people for that.
Oh, I'm sure.
Daggerers.
I'm sure.
I can't imagine what those looks were like.
Dagger.
No one made a noise.
There wasn't a peep.
You could hear, do you hear my claps echoing off of, like, the walls?
I heard you scream, woo, and then you just heard someone, you heard someone typing.
You could hear someone typing in the background.
It was so quiet you could hear people typing.
I mean, it was a huge bar save.
I was going crazy.
So then we're inside the ropes, and I do have to say, too, that speaking to trying to be invisible and all of that,
is that, like, this was one of those moments, too,
where I was like begging Stoolies like not to yell because it was like it was
Stoley central and I guarantee you like I guarantee you tigers probably think of like
who the fuck is Riggs because like we're I was walking like 50 yards behind him and it's any
stewie that saw you from anywhere would would yell out so guys were yelling out left and right
from like grandstands across the other side let's go Rixie inside the rows Riggs-ah
Oh man and I'm just like okay everybody settled out
We experience that as Shinnock, too, and as soon as one guy does it, it's like a fire.
Correct.
It's spread.
It all depends on how you react to that.
Because unfortunately, I was an amateur at it, and I turned to the crowd, and I said, let's
fucking hear it.
Let's go.
And I had the whole crowd going crazy, and Dustin Johnson had to, like, step off his ball.
So hopefully.
And it's hard not to.
And you're also like, I appreciate it, but you all feel like, this is awesome.
I'm walking to the roads.
People are yelling for me.
Let's go, let's go.
It's me and Tiger.
It's fucking great.
And so, but it's also, it's like.
dude, you just don't want to get on anybody's radar for being, like, problematic.
That's all I'm caring about.
Do you imagine if he just, like, turned to the right and just daggered you?
Or he's like, Tiger, like, get him out of here.
Right.
Just him looking at you.
I think you would have just vanished.
I mean, a couple of media guys were like, I don't know who gets more yells.
You were tired.
That's insane.
Stoys were everywhere.
So it was awesome to see.
How close were you able?
You said you were walking, like, 50 yards.
How, like, where are you able to stand on, like, a T-box?
Like, 10.
So it depended on the T-box.
A lot of the T-boxes are pretty tight, especially because the further back you go with T's, like, you tip it out of these courses just the less real estate there is because that course wasn't designed for the T's to actually be all the way that back and stuff.
So it gets narrow and narrower.
So, like, on the 11th T, for example, was the one where Tiger on Saturday hit like a two-iron stinger and then, like, a hardcore twirl.
Oh, yeah.
No joke.
I have that written in my notes.
I have a bunch of notes written from the weekend, and the first one is Tiger Twirl Saturday.
Frankie, I bet that twirl was less than 10 feet from my face.
Oh, my God.
You felt the wind come off of it?
Yes, I was sitting on, so there's like two or three benches on the side of the T-box.
And when our whole media pool crept up there, Tiger and those guys were already getting ready to hit.
So it's like, you can't shuffle all the way around to the other side.
You just kind of have to, like, sit in place.
And the only spot for me to sit was on this bench.
So I'm just sitting on a bench, like 10 feet away from Tiger.
And he's teeing off, and I'm just like, am I just like, am I supposed to be?
supposed to be here. Holy shit. And he
rips it and the twirl, I mean,
it was insane. The twirl,
and I was trying to frantically tweet about
it. I got to tell people about this twirl.
And then by the time I got it up like 30 minutes later,
like I saw every outlet on the planet
had already tweeted the twirl. I just like said it was cool.
But anyway, so I was
able to get pretty fucking close.
And it depends on the, you know,
like I said, it depends on the spot. Most of the time you're trying
to stay like 50 yards away from her. So
now I haven't told many people this. I said
it on the radio today. But I had
a serious incident with Tiger on number 12.
Tiger almost ran me.
Oh my goodness.
Tiger almost ran me over.
What do you mean?
So the 12th T, it's part four, Tiger hits driver.
He hits a, I believe he hit a pretty good drive on 12.
He did.
He had a great drive on 12.
And there's bathrooms like Porter Potty's down to the left.
You got to walk all the way down this hill towards this bridge, cross like this creek.
But right before the bridge, there's these little portals.
parties and everybody kind of converges to go over the bridge right because like you can't walk 20
wide over a small little footbridge and i didn't even realize that tiger went into the bathroom
so i'm walking next to these journalists and the two guys on my left stop and i didn't i was on my
phone trying to tweet so i took like two more steps before i stopped and i looked to my left and tiger
is literally five feet away from me walking right at me and he legitimately does like a left right
stutter. Like, which where are you going, dude? I'm floored right now. I haven't, I haven't, I haven't,
I haven't blinked since you started speaking. I swear to God. Like, I, you and Tiger did a shimmy.
I interrupted his, like, his momentum walking. Oh my God. It was the worst, it was like the worst,
slash coolest moment. The coolest thing I've ever heard about it was, you and Tiger shimmied.
Yeah. My heart fell out of my body. Did you make a noise? Did he make a noise like, oh,
he looked he was looking because he looks like mostly down when he walks you know what I mean
he doesn't like look up at the sky around I know exactly what you know he looks like so he kind of
he probably never looked higher than like my waistline but he kind of just he like ship he legitimately
shimmied like am I going left or right dude what the fuck are you doing and I just froze and I
didn't know should I back up or should I keep my momentum going forward I felt like an eternity
So he could go around
It was
It was probably the worst moment of my life actually
It was awful
But it was like
I didn't know
Like if he would have hit a bad shot after that
Yeah
Can you imagine if you startled
Can you imagine if you startled him so much
That like he shimmied out to the left
And then his fucking transfusion
His fusion just fucking snapped
And he's just on the floor
And Riggs is standing there looking around
Like I didn't do anything
What?
And everyone just tackles you
And you just never allowed to me
When I told my brother this he's like
What are you doing dude
Like get out of there
You interrupt the Tiger Woods' past.
He had no business being there.
He was supposed to be gone.
You had no business being there.
I just, it was so shocking.
When I saw, I couldn't believe it when I saw him.
Did any other media member see what happened and be like, holy shit?
They had to have been thinking, like, what is this fucking idiot doing?
You just stepped on a highway with a guy going 125 miles and hours and just staring at the car.
Dude, I let all, everyone walk in front of me.
I just walked last in line for like the next two holes and was like, I, oh my God.
Like, I'll never forget.
that image of Tiger.
It was insane.
It was scary.
It was so scary.
I was like,
he could have,
he could have just motored me right over.
That would have been awesome.
That would have been awesome.
Buried me and just walked right.
Like,
he wouldn't even have noticed me.
I can't believe you were in the path of Tiger Woods's like his musk.
Like his air.
The air that came off of him.
He's got such an aura that like,
I'm surprised his like force field didn't like just knock me over before.
He just gives that a quick, just little palm to you and you just go fly.
Mortal Kombat.
Dude.
Like we said he's dark.
He just looks at you and just flicks his finger.
He just like uses the force to fling me up against a tree like 400 yards away.
He just chokes you out.
Just like, don't ever fucking walk in my path again.
Chase you're inside the rope's past.
Like it snatches your chains.
He uses the force and it rips the chain off and it's just gone forever.
Oh, wow.
That is something.
I'm surprised you were able to keep that from us all day long.
I really wanted to save it for the podcast.
I wanted you guys to get it.
It was shocking.
It was a shocking moment.
I was, I gotta be honest, I was rattled after that.
I was shook for like two holes.
I was trying just not to get in the way.
So anyway, so we walk up 12.
And then 12 and 13 are those two holes.
I talked about where the par 3T is similar or near the 12th green, obviously.
And so I'm sitting, I sit down on this little grassy patch by the 13th T.
And this kid, this younger kid sitting next to me, he's got the same media shit I got on.
And I'm like, oh, it's up, man, like who you're working with?
he's like nobody i i i snuck in holy shit and i was like what
he's like he's like yeah i got a uh he's like i got like good really good family that are
members at belrieve and tight with the pga and they just they got me and my my buddy these lander were
like we're like we're like college kids holy shit i was like let's go i was like why'd you tell
me that he's like well you're like a parcel guy you're not gonna care and i was like yeah it's a good point
true was there any moment where you wish he didn't tell you because now you're linked to him
No, because I was like, if this fucking idiot's here, I could be here.
All right.
You know what I mean?
Sure.
Good point.
And the other thing you gotta realize about the press pool is that it's very much, you know,
anytime you're out to dinner, the first person that stands up, then everybody gets up and leaves.
That's all it takes one person to get up and be like, all right, I think we're done here.
That's exactly how the press pool is with, like, where we go on the whole.
So this kid, there even a couple times, like, this kid led 25 journalists to, like, where we were going to sit up the home.
That's cocky.
That's a little too cocky.
He just went and sat somewhere and everyone just follows, like, like, this kid.
like the leader.
I see what you're saying.
Is how it works.
So like this kid, he just had as much like as much legitimate,
legitimization.
It is shocking that he was the one that at some point led the group because in a tiger
group we talked about just a little bit before.
It's different than any other group that you're following when you're in the media and
you're in that scrum.
To be able to be the one that's like, I think we're okay here in a tiger group is
probably the most nerve-wracking thing.
And everyone, you can tell it's weighing on everybody's mind like, am I okay in the
spot the whole day, the whole day.
And then one time, oh, this was awesome.
After, I mean, you can't get much better than the last one.
You know what I mean?
Did you, like, hit him in the nuts or something?
After the 14th, he missed a short birdie look on the 14th hole.
And we were sitting over the, like, you can't really, we weren't that close to the 14th cream.
But Joey, Likava, had set his bag down over right by where we were because that was the walkway to the 15th team.
And Tiger putted first, basically.
So he putted, missed his birdie putt, and then tapped in for par.
And he walked all the way over and stood like five feet.
in front of me and put his putter down and then like took off his hat and was muttering to
himself and like shaking his fucking head and was like motherfucker like you gotta be fucking like literally
like five feet in front of me and I was like this is fucking awesome I can't believe you were this
close to Tiger Woods I mean you're like taking this a lot better than I like you were just
with Tiger Woods I was we heard him just like talking to him so that was the only people who
heard that conversation were him than you people battle for two hours to see him walk by for
two seconds.
And I just stood next to him for three hours straight.
The picture that you took of him like scratching his leg with the parcel.
That was the one with the hat.
Yeah.
That was when I was right behind him.
That's incredible.
And he was talking to himself.
And then the other time that he did that was he three jacked on 17 for par.
And we walked over to the 18th T.
And as he was standing on the 18th T, he was, he walked over by himself to the far right.
And he stood there.
and you could see him just cursing himself out.
It was awesome.
He was just standing there, totally cursing himself out.
You could see, like, some body link.
He would get, like, five or six seconds of, like, kind of calmness,
and then, like, a couple fucking, like, wave his arms, like, he was fucking rattled.
And then when it was his turn to tee off, he took, like, a couple really deep breaths.
And he stood there, and he, like, he was almost like he did, like, his meditation-type thing for, like, four or five seconds.
He stood behind the ball and, like, closed his eyes, basically, and stood there.
And I could tell he got.
everything out that he was all flustered about, and then he just ripped the drive on 18 and, like, twirled the club.
And I was like, this fucking guy.
I mean, this is Tiger Woods we're talking about.
Oh, this guy.
He in person is just, he's magical.
Him getting that frustrated makes me love him so much more.
Me too.
Like, he just knows how close he is, and he knows that there's, like, one or two things that he just needs to get done.
And he's just so fucking frustrated that he can't, like, just do it.
And even when he's playing well, like, guys around him, like, Brick's Keppka just won't stop.
Like, he's right there.
He's just cursing himself out, like, you motherfucker.
It was great.
You went 10 pars in a row on Saturday.
Get a fucking bird.
Did you see him sign?
I literally heard him saying himself like, you motherfucker.
That's like what he said.
Did you see him sign in the scorecard yesterday?
He was just like, he was like devastated.
Yeah, it was.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm speechless at your experience.
I really am.
It was insane.
It was so awesome.
You know what else is awesome is stamps.com.
Oh, wow.
So I have actually lately been doing,
I've been sending a bunch of stuff.
So you've been using some stamps?
People send a bunch of stuff to us, obviously.
A bunch of golf stuff, a bunch of endless, endless amounts of golf stuff.
And I pretty much, I rock like Peter Millar.
That's what I wear.
So a lot of the stuff that I get from people, from different companies,
they're, like, begging us to wear their stuff.
I just give to my buddies.
I just send it back home.
So I have to have some way, obviously, your postage, your stamp, all that, whatever it weighs.
All that stuff, I hate going.
to any of these locations where you have to go and deal with all this stuff.
Stamps.com, they make it unbelievably easy.
They pretty much, you can get anything in terms of shipping, in terms of sending stuff, letters, packages, whatever it is,
everything that you want on demand.
You get our podcast on demand, boom, you can also get anything that you need.
Sending-wise, mailage-wise, on stamps.com.
With Stamps.com, you can access all the services of the post office right from your desk,
buy and print real U.S. postage for any letter or any package available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Just click, print, mail, and you are done.
Stamps.com will even send you a digital scale.
Wow.
How nice is that?
What does that mean?
So the digital scale means because obviously how much stampage you're going to need is based off of how heavy your package is.
Wow.
Which I know, because like I said, I've been sending a bunch of gear to my friends back home and all that.
They'll send you a digital scale and hook you right up.
You can weigh your letters and packages and print the exact amount of postage every time, Frankie.
That answers your question.
It's right there in the copy.
So here's what you guys got to do.
Right now, if you use ForPlay, the word, one word, for play, you are going to get a four-week trial, which includes postage and a digital scale.
Oh, my goodness.
You go to Stamps.com.
Before you do anything else, you click on the radio microphone at the top of the homepage and type in Foreplay.
Once again, you go to Stamps.com, click the radio microphone at the top of the homepage and type in Foreplay.
That's one word, for play, F-O-R-E, P-L-A-Y.
Go to Stamps.com, click on the microphone, enter Foreplay, boom.
You are going to get a four-week trial, which includes postage and a digital scale.
So I was inside the ropes on Saturday with my friend Tiger Woods.
It was awesome.
The one issue was that I followed him for ten holes, and I didn't see him make a single birdie.
As soon as you started following him, he made all parts.
Yep.
Yep.
And on the front nine, those like three or four whole stretch where I followed him with my buddies,
he didn't make a single birdie.
That is remarkable because he made so many birdies this week.
He made all the birdies this week, and you saw none of them.
It's amazing.
You saw the one stretch where he just didn't make it.
You saw a stretch of Tiger Woods that was so remarkably.
Like unremarkable?
Unremarkable?
Yes.
I saw the least remarkable stretch of Tiger.
Yes.
And like everyone was complaining.
Like, I cannot believe he's going 10 holes in a row with a par.
And that was when Riggs was with him.
Do you think you had anything to do with that?
No, but, like, kind of.
What hole did you throw him off when you guys, you did the back and forth?
I was on 12, Trent, so he was already, he was hitting the ball great.
He didn't make any puts.
That was one of the most frustrating back nines of golf.
17 was the most frustrating ball to ever seen ever.
Because he was just, he had a chance to shoot a fucking minus nine.
Yes.
He was also, he was like a lot to make a lot to make a lot.
It's over.
And if that, a tap in bird.
Right.
He made par.
It was crazy.
That was so deflated.
I honestly think that he was so rattled by not making the eagle that the Bernie wasn't even an option.
I think he didn't even, I think you're right.
I felt when I was like, I was not going to make this pot.
I knew he wasn't going to make a tough part.
I said, there's no chance he makes this bird.
I actually said that to myself.
I did not feel that way at all.
Really?
I mean, you texted me.
You texted me to try it right out there.
I said, I felt like I got ran over by a train.
Did I text you?
I laid in my bed like I was, like I had a thousand pounds over.
me. I sank into it. I said, oh my
fucking God, did he just make a
part of it? Because we knew we needed to be closer than four back.
And we were right. We talked about this
every time he's in a tournament. He has to go
into Sunday with either in that last
group or second and last group because he can't keep
catching people. You got to just, you got
to have the lead. One time. Give him the lead.
He won't give it up. Give him the lead. He will
not give it up. I'm standing by that.
Tiger Woods goes into it Sunday. He will not give it up.
So it's
a solo second place. Finish.
the action on Sunday was
through the roof
I'm talking through the roof
right out of the gate
I mean he
so let's talk about this first hole
his front nine was an enigma
no one will ever see a front nine like that again
he posted a three under
32 and hit the ball
the worst I've ever seen somebody
it was incredible he didn't hit one fairway
and he wasn't even fucking close
and he should have made Bernie on one
I mean, the first hole he, like, twirled it, and, like, it just went way left into a bunker.
Like, he just knew, and he said afterwards, like, yeah, I was hitting everything way left off the, in the warm-up.
Yep.
So, like, he, I've never seen him like that either.
Like, he was unfazed by his horrible T-shots for the most part of the front nine.
Like, on eight, he was a little rattled, but, like, the other ones, he was just hitting them into the terrible spots, and he just, like, knew that that's where he was going to hit him.
He's like, yeah, I just can't drive the ball today.
So on the first hole, he hits an unbelievable shot from the fairway bunker to, like, seven feet.
The announcers beforehand, they're like, if anything, this just.
falls a little bit right and the whole course that whole that putt has to go right he plays at
left center it's dead center and then in the last foot it just breaks hard left and miss the hole like
left it broke the other way what the fuck was that it was it was like some voodoo magic happened to the
ball because it looked like it was going right in and then it turned like you said it just turned
the opposite way it was crazy i don't know what happened and then like kepka had the same put for bertie
and like his putt didn't just snap left so i don't know what the fuck was going on there
j t had trouble on that uh or it may have been the second jt's putty's putty
He was all over the place, which is, you know, you hate to see that.
You do hate to see that.
I hate to see it.
Then he goes, again, on two, Tiger yanked it left.
Miracosly wasn't in the water.
I don't know how that did end up in the water.
He was like a foot away from the hazard.
The top tracer showed it go just in the middle of the lake.
It didn't show.
It did.
It did.
The top tracer showed the ball go in the middle lake, and I just, I, like, I lost my shit.
And I couldn't believe.
Someone had to yell to yell to have me come back into the room.
They're like, he's fine.
I'm like, shut the fuck up!
He's not fine!
He's not fine.
Did you not see the top tracer?
Then he hits it tight, makes Bertie.
And then on three, we already put the audio in, but on three, I mean...
He almost made a whole one.
That moment I was like, this tournament is over.
Like, I don't know, how are we going to not win this tournament at this point?
And after showing up with the sunglasses and the backwards hat...
Oh, I totally forgot about that.
What a display that was.
When he showed up with that and then Bertie two of the first three, it was like, we're doing it.
What's strange about that is you don't usually get, like, the walk-in arrival to a major championship
on a Sunday from anybody.
I was stunned that you see him in the red and black, like, walking through the parking lot.
Oh, yeah, no, he arrives like that.
That's fucking insane.
So Tago Woods is, like, walking around his hotel room or wherever he's staying in Sunday,
red and black.
For at least a couple minutes, right?
Like, he's got to get from the bathroom or the bedroom where he changes into that outfit.
Tago Woods puts on his Sunday, red and black in his bathroom.
Yeah, and then he probably, like, maybe grabs a sandwich in the kitchen.
Wait a minute.
We could possibly see Tiger Woods
Like on a front lawn of a house
In his Sunday red and black
I didn't even know if that was an option
Like him walking on the street
Just walking to a car
Yeah
Think about him just behind the wheel of his car
Just
All right
Off to the tournament I go
In his red and black
Put his hat backwards
In those glasses
Cruise
What do you think he's listening
He's probably nothing
He's probably so precise
In that fucking car
Every blinker is on point
But it is strange though, right?
Like I feel like we've never gotten that shot before
Of him walking in in the red and black
It was awesome
Certainly not with the glasses in the back with that was awesome
That look is ridiculous
But I fucking love it
It's what we always say
When he is left to his own devices
Which he's not
Technically on the golf course track
But he wasn't technically on the golf course yet
Usually he's a little more zeroed in
He wanted a fuck that day
That was a guy who wants to fuck
He was such a bad look that it was
Perfect
He was a Terminator
He literally, he never looked more like, like the term of air.
By the way, we have a T-shirt up on sale that is the best shirt I've ever seen.
It's that picture.
It just says goat underneath it.
And it's just perfect.
It's the best shirt I've ever seen.
So go store it upartartartartartosports.com and buy that thing.
But he shows up with that thing after he drives himself to the golf course at his Sunday.
10 and 2, Tiger Woods.
Off to work now.
Yeah.
Just like everybody else, put my pants on, put my shirt on, here we go.
But yeah, you hit it tight on three.
It's it tight on three.
He makes a couple scramble pars.
He's still hitting it all over the map.
On 8, he hits the damn three wood from the rough.
Incredible.
Through the trees low.
I know every single person watching that saw him pull out the three wood
and everyone was like, what the fuck is he doing right now?
Yeah, we thought he spieth himself.
Yes, exactly.
Makes Bertie there.
Then on 9 again, he pulls iron.
He almost hit it out of bounds.
Yeah.
They're like, there's OB over there, and they're a bunch of fans.
And I was like, those fucking fans, they better be throwing their life.
Just give one kick.
Give him a little...
You do whatever you got to do
and make sure that ball does go out of bounds.
It didn't.
He was fine.
He obviously, he was on the cart path,
that whatever, hits this rope hook,
nine iron, he said.
He's like, I had 178, just a nine iron.
I was like, what?
Uphill.
Hits a rope hook, nine iron to like 15 feet
cans that put, which, again,
was a massive roar on nine.
And you guys, you weren't there.
But again, on nine is just a huge amphitheater
on nine. Huge. I'm talking
like maybe the biggest,
18's pretty big, but maybe the biggest
gallery on the golf course is on 9. So he
makes that, he gives a huge fist pump.
Then on the back 9, he starts actually
hitting fairways. He ripped the driver
on 10. He's in the middle
of the fairway on 11. 11 was the hole
where he had the brutal lip out.
Brutal. Or it wasn't a lip-out.
Just one more rotation. One revolution.
You thought that has to, how does that ball not
go in? If you go back and watch
that replay, the ball is cooking.
as it approaches the hole, and it just stops on a dime for no reason.
It just cannot happen.
On 12, he ripped a drive.
He birdies 12.
He birdies 13.
13 was the one where he put his putter in the air before it went in.
The early call.
At that point, it got him to one back, and he's doing putter raises.
He's one back.
Kepka's got a couple tough driving holes coming up.
He could easily make a bogey.
Let's go.
Tiger's still got the 17th, which he had an eagle look the day before,
so you're like he's going to be, he's going to make something up there.
One back.
day were one back.
14 was a goddamn disaster.
He again misses a fairway with an iron.
Hits a great shot to get it up there near the green from there.
Terrible chip.
Another awesome put that somehow high-side lip-out.
That was kind of the third putt that he felt like had to go in during that day that somehow didn't.
Danny turns around and maybe hit the best shot of the day from the middle of the fairway on 15.
That almost brought the golf course down.
I mean, that thing was so close.
It's crazy how close that was.
The place went just nuts.
That's the hole that the hole was damaged, right?
No, that was on 12.
Oh, the 12 was the damage hole.
Yeah.
That was so strange.
How often have you seen, I don't know if they just don't show it as much or it just happened to be in two, like, featured groups?
But does that happen often where...
I feel like that very rarely happen.
You know, they bring out this, like, hole guy with, like, that little thing that they do.
Well, they also did it the day before when somebody almost got a hole in one.
It was two times in the same tournament.
Yeah.
It was crazy.
It was, uh, it's rare, but it was also what happened was really, really, really.
rare and that woodland's ball like literally like landed in the cup now did they move the hole
what do they do there no i think they just do a full replace and the only way you can really do
do it is you have to do the whole process yeah wow you know i'm saying because you got to get the
dirt perfect and like compact and all that so uh so that's what happened there that was kind
of annoying it wasn't because tiger was rolling and like we're on our way to making a huge comeback
and he's just got to wait to make this putt and i know you were you were tweeting like they
better put this hole closer to where yeah that's everyone thought there's
moving the whole closer to Tiger's wall,
like, come on.
Which should have been a great move for the PJ.
But anyway, he birdies 12, birdies 13,
bogey's 14, 15, he hits the dart
in there to like a foot.
Place goes crazy town.
16, he hit an unbelievable iron
shot to like 15 feet,
maybe even tighter than that.
And on that, that one was like,
when he missed that, it felt like
that might have been it.
Yeah.
Because it, you know.
Because Kepka had birdied.
I don't know if we knew it at the time,
but Kepka was about to go.
He, birdied 50s.
Yep. He's about to be birded 16.
Yeah.
And he's, he also, Kepka was, you know, he knew he had the 17th up, which it's like
that guy can't not birdie 17.
Yeah.
How is that possible?
Right.
So that was devastating.
And then he had the horrible T shot on 17, which was devastating.
Maybe the spin zone, that may have been my greatest takeaway from the whole tournament was his
reaction to that T shot.
He knew.
He's how pissed off he was.
Yep.
like he wants to fucking win.
That's when I think he realized that it was over and he was fucking pissed.
Pissed.
But think about it though.
He's been there twice now.
Like, he has to think, I understand I'm not supposed to be here and I understand that this is an incredible feat that I'm in the mix this much in majors.
But I just had two opportunities to win two fucking majors and go get Jack's record.
Right. I'm right there.
It's got to be so incredibly frustrating.
I don't care how happy he may be and how happy we all are.
It's so incredibly frustrating that he had two chances.
I'd rather, we talk about it all the time, like, would you rather him not be that close?
Or just, like, miss the cut?
But, like, I love the experience.
I love watching him.
I love seeing him progress.
But, like, fuck, he's so close.
It makes me want to die that he could have won two majors.
And there's this concern, right?
Like, you're saying that he's a little bit more complacent and that he's got this happier life now and his kids and he's 42.
And it's like he's pretty content with how everything's going.
that's a concern because you need this crazy drive and this crazy fire to like get back.
He's saying that playing soccer in the backyard is more important than winning on Sunday.
And that's a concern for guys like us.
Like, no, it isn't.
We need you win in fucking majors, buddy.
So seeing that reaction where he swung his driver, fucking, he almost like broke the T-box in half.
He was so pissed off.
A couple giant swings was like, yes, I want to see that.
Like, yes, I know the tournament's over.
We blew it at this point.
Like, whatever.
But seeing that was a good sign I thought for how much he cares still, how into it he is, how much he wants to win.
And another great sign was that he didn't really blow it.
He shot fucking 64.
I know.
He played the last seven holes at three under bar.
It was his lowest Sunday in a major ever.
Ever.
And we're talking about the greatest golfer of all time in a machine.
This was his greatest Sunday ever.
If anything, it was Saturday's back nine.
The 17th hole.
It was Saturday's back nine and it was his first nine holes.
of the tournament.
And if he turns those around,
if he converts some of those puts on Saturday,
and he just gets a little bit cleaner start,
this tournament is over
because he's in such a much better position
and he was playing great and all that.
The other thing that I will say is that,
look, he hasn't even played great yet.
Like, does he play to single tournament
where we afterwards said, like, man, he played great?
For all four rounds, no.
Right.
Like, this one felt that way.
And I know he's scrambled.
He hit the ball yesterday.
Off the tea.
Couldn't even get off the tea.
Dude,
but his irons and his wedges were unreal.
Unreal, but he's the best iron player in the history of the game.
I know, I know.
Look, his driving accuracy was 35%,
which is tied for 122nd in the field.
He missed every single fairway on the front nine.
The fact that he made up ground after the front nine is crazy that he was even in that position at all.
It's crazy in the whole.
So my thinking, right, is like, we're looking at Brooks Kepp because we're going.
Brooks Kepp could play great, right?
Yeah.
We're not saying, like, Tiger Woods didn't play great.
Like, he had awesome moments.
There were parts of his game that were great.
But, like, dude, he couldn't drive the golf ball,
and he almost won a major championship.
He couldn't even drive the golf ball.
It wasn't even close.
No.
So it's like, I still, that gives me so much confidence
that not only can he win majors,
but that, like, he can get to a point, I think,
where he is dominant again.
Dominant.
I totally agree.
I mean, watching him, like you said,
he's able to finish
in second, in a sole
place second, in a tournament
that's a major
that he did not hit a fairway
in the whole entire front nine
of Sunday.
That is insane.
And had brutal misses at 14 and 17
in the back then.
Just, he didn't hit a fairway.
Not a single fairway.
Not a single one.
When I saw that graphic call up, when I saw that he was
0 for 8 at one point, I
I scream.
If you, if you would
like, if they had told you
All right, we're not going to tell you anything else about this front nine for Tiger, except he was 0 for 8 in the fairway.
You'd be like, it's just so over that I don't even have to watch the rest of the turnoff.
God, his wedges were so sexy, though.
They were so sexy.
Wedges were sexy.
His mid-irons were sexy.
He's hitting nine irons.
The greens were so goddamn soft.
He was just, he was abusing them.
I tweeted out pictures right before we came on this show of some of the pro tracers from Saturday's round because on the third hole he hits like this little nine iron draw in there to like a back left pin.
And then on the other ones, he's hitting these little cuts in there.
And the pro tracer just showing that he can just fucking like he's a magician out there working the ball both ways.
Oh, while we're here, they should definitely not do eye tracker again.
Oh, is the-tracer.
That's the putting one.
Oh, the tiger vision?
Yes.
That thing is the worst.
What are you doing, CBS?
T and T.
Eye tracer is the worst thing that's ever been invented.
Just, they give you two lines.
I don't know what the first line is.
There's a line that just goes from the putter to the hole that's straight.
So I guess they're just showing us if they just hit a badge.
I don't understand what that one is.
And then the next one is supposed to be the break.
I think the first one is lag.
That's what they said.
Lag?
That's what it said.
It said lag on it.
What does that mean?
I don't know.
So I think it's this.
I think that what they were trying to show is that like if you drill this thing as hard as
humanly possible in a straight line, this is a line to make it go in.
Well, obviously.
It's a line from the ball to the hole.
Which is unbelievably dumb.
And then the other one is like if you hit the softest pot of
imaginable that would die in the hole, this would be the line.
And then the rest was like a gray air, which like if you hit it somewhere in this area
at some different speed, it might go.
So in the end, no matter where the putt is, that's, that tracer does not show us anything.
Literally nothing.
It's basically like if they somehow keep it in between these two lines, it's probably maybe going to go in.
But it never did.
No, it missed all the time.
It missed every single time when they showed it.
And you couldn't see a golf ball.
No.
The only time they fixed it was on Tigers, I think on the 17th or 18th hole when they did.
I think it may have been the 17th.
They showed the tracer, and then they made it dissolve as the ball was rolling.
That's the only time they fixed it.
But every other time, whoever was in that fucking truck that was in charge of eye tracer kept the eye tracer on the entire time.
So you didn't even get this.
Part of my favorite part, and I know you guys too, when you're like a golf fan and you are a golfer yourself, your favorite part of watching putts is like when you call out loud, like, oh, come on in.
Or that's got it.
Yes.
That's got legs.
Like you are reading the ball amongst the.
people watching the tournament with you and like that's my biggest moment when I'm watching.
When you're like, curl in there.
Yeah, you're almost like, come on in.
It's going in.
Everyone's like getting up.
I tracer fucked it up.
Like we're all watching what the break is.
And you know, they just did it because CBS was like, I bet these graph looks kind of cool.
And they're like, they don't care.
They looked horrible.
They looked horrible, but there's people who probably like, oh, that just looks cool and
it looks interesting.
I saw people tweeting.
It's like the same thing when they used to put the glow around the hockey puck in like the 1990s.
What are you doing?
Don't mess with something as elegant and as awesome as putting on the,
the PGA Championship on Sunday in a major.
Why do we have to watch it with all these fucking crazy graphics?
It should just be the putter, the guy, and you should never, ever fuck around with it.
How about this?
Why don't we focus on getting Pro Tracer on every single hole before we start doing like, I-Tracer?
Nothing worse than when you think a Pro Tracer is coming up on a shot.
And it's not.
It's just not.
There's nothing worse.
Oh, Top Tracer.
Top Tracer, I'm sorry.
Yeah, top Tracer.
It's like, I almost think like, did they whiff?
Like, where's the golf ball?
I don't know.
I don't see where it.
Where did it go?
I have no idea where it went.
That was such a miss.
from them and to dabble in a major championship.
Right.
That's risky.
Save that shit for...
Try it in the John Deer class.
The John...
I knew you were going to say...
I knew both of you were going to say the John Deer.
I had a Jay, like, loaded in my time.
You're looking to walk out of here.
No offense, Trent.
I just think they should try that out.
Do it where they lose control of the golf course with that fucking guy.
But not what was that?
They're trying it in a major championship is outrageous.
I will not stand for it.
The most important putts of the year.
Yeah.
You're just like trying something.
thing new.
And after day one, their ego is too big after day one when it clearly was like, this
thing's a piece of shit.
They wouldn't, they couldn't just be like, we got to get rid of this.
Riggs, these tweets of Tigers' top traces are laugh out loud funny.
He's just shaping the ball like he's like an artist.
No, he literally looks like a magician.
He's just standing there and it's like he, he like threw out magic in that direction and
then throughout magic in the other direction.
It's amazing.
It's like Harry Potter.
He's like Harry Potter, right.
Like he said some.
He's like a warlock.
Right.
He said some like wizard.
word and then like threw his golf ball in that direction and it curled that way it's amazing
it's honestly just amazing uh you know else amazing liquid iv if you get a little bit uh you had a
couple things to drink which i also have to tell a little story that uh we got drinks on saturday
night with our boy brandle hmm hey now is me my brother a couple of my buddies brandle and uh emman lynch
who is uh also a contributor for golf channel and whatnot and we had a great time brandil is such a good
Dude, he is.
Are you guys just like talking golf the whole time?
Oh, my God.
We were talking golf or shooting his shit.
Does he not give a shit about that?
Like, does he not feel like he's...
He loves it, dude.
Yeah.
He loves it.
And we were talking beforehand, because my brother's buddies, you know, we all have
up watching Galtzarin for the last 20 years.
It's like, you know, even before we had Brandt on the show, we're like, Trent and I
were like, a little nervous.
We're like, man, I've watched Brando for 10 years straight.
And like, no matter what your opinions are of him, whatever.
So, like, we're going to have this guy in the office.
And they were like, man, we just want to talk golf with him so badly.
do you think since he does it for a living?
And I was like, dude, I guarantee you he brings it up before you do
because he just, he loves golf.
And we started, we like mentioned Tiger or something like that,
and he just started going on.
And he's like, boys, I'm telling you, tomorrow the entire tournament
is going to come down to his drives on this hole, this hole 14 and 17,
which he called out and he goes, he will miss the fairway on those holes.
He's like, I don't want it to be true.
I want Tiger to win.
It's the best story for me.
It's not even close.
But those are the issues.
And sure enough, he missed those fairways.
But it was like he just started talking about golf right away.
We asked him very directly.
We were like, like, honest opinion, like, do you want Tiger to win the tournament?
He looked just right in the eye and he's like, boys, there's nothing I want more than Tiger with the win.
He's like, it's the best story.
It is the best thing to cover.
It's not even close.
And he was like dead serious.
But we had M&2 as like a super sarcastic motherfucker.
So we were chirping, we were drinks were flowing.
I spilled wine over my shorts.
It was a C.
We had ourselves a great time.
Great time.
But anyways, when you do a little bit, we do a little night of drinking, you got to get yourself,
you got to get yourself some liquid IV, an age recovery after a night out.
Fuels fast-paced lifestyle provides quick hydration relief.
Also fuels tough workouts, helps prevent muscle fatigue, helps promotes healthy post-workout recovery
made with clean ingredients, portable powder pockets.
It's just good stuff.
Liquid IV helps prevent dehydration, especially while spending more time outside in the summer heat, like playing golf.
Liquid IV is not your average electrolyte drink mix.
Non-GMO, clean ingredients, healthy, alternative to traditional sports drinks vegan and free of gluten, dairy, and soy.
Very nice.
Can provide the same hydration as drinking two to three bottles of water.
Wow.
That's a nice little fact right there.
I would never guess that.
Can provide the same hydration as drinking two to three to three.
or three bottles of water.
Amazing.
Delivers hydration to the bloodstream faster and more efficiently than water alone contains
five essential vitamins, including more vitamin C than an orange and as much potassium
as a banana.
Wow.
Whoa.
Look at that.
Can provide the same hydration as drinking two to three bottles of water and also contains
five essential vitamins, including more vitamin C than an orange and as much potassium
as a banana.
That's amazing.
One-stop shop for recovery.
That's fantastic.
families. Who needs water and who needs bananas?
Nobody has got Liquid Ivy.
You just need Liquid IV. That's it.
Got it all covered.
What a great name, too, Liquid Ivy.
Sounds like I'm going to be the most replenished person in the world.
Yeah, in like one drink.
I feel like I'm just going to be floating in a water joke.
Yeah, I picture myself like in a fountain swimming around.
Yeah.
Sounds so refreshing.
It does.
I love Liquid Ivy, and I know you will too.

A couple of other things we've got to talk about before we get to Taylor Ford.
Again, that's just an incredibly insightful, all kinds of good stories from this past weekend.
So stay tuned and listen to that.
Bryson D. Shambo.
I met Bryson D. Shambo.
Yep.
Yeah.
I knew we were going to talk about this.
Big Bryce and he shambo right now.
What?
You said you were going to be.
You said that.
You said if I ever meet these guys and they're awesome and they, you know, dat me up and we got to talk.
I'm going to like him.
Now look, if I got the sense that he was like faking it or he was kind of bullshitting his
answers or being disingenuine or anything like that, then I would have stuck to my guns.
However, he was, when we strolled over there, he was literally the only person on the
driving range.
He was alone on the driving range.
We were like, look at this asshole.
Yep.
And he was on the back left corner of the range by himself and there were a bunch of fans up
behind him.
And when we walked over there, he was smiling and he was.
and he was hitting like crazy fun flop shots
that the fans behind him were calling out.
They were like calling out, hit this shot, hit that shot.
He was hitting him and trying.
And then his caddy tried to throw something away
and like missed the trash can.
And he chirped him and then he grabbed a couple golf balls
and was trying to throw golf balls into the trash can.
And the fans were like,
try to do it over behind your heads.
Then he was trying to throw him like over the back of his head and whatnot.
He's engaging with the fans.
And then he would go back and hit a bunch of golf balls.
And I realized because I was thinking like
this guy is just like some like hardo psychopath you know whatever is kind of what we thought
but he honestly the guy just he just loves golf more than anything else and he was like
look i could be back in my hometown right now except now watching tv but like i would rather to be on
the range like hitting balls like that's just what he likes to do um so he came off as incredibly
genuine when i did ask him to chat for a couple minutes which you saw in the video and his uh
i don't know if it was like a swing coach somebody was like you got to be really quick he's tired
he's been out here all day and he was like ah he's an asshole don't worry about him like whatever you guys
need so he was very cool with us um he also i thought in his answers you know we only had him for a minute
or two it wasn't very long but in his answers he wasn't trying to like give a PR answer anything like that
he was just like you know when we talked about i asked about the cardoosey video obviously and he was
like uh yeah i mean you know that's a guy trying to hone his craft i didn't think the cameras
are rolling right i wish they wouldn't have kind of caught that but like that's just what i do
I'm trying to, like, get better, which I thought was a very candid answer.
So, anyways, long story short, I'm a Bryson D'Sheaumbo guy now.
Yeah, I never, when I don't, when I hate these guys or, you know, I don't like them on the tour or whatever,
I never expect them not to be human beings and, like, cool guys off the golf course.
I'm sure, Bryson, I mean, you met him, I'm sure all these guys are pretty cool guys when you catch them off the golf course and not doing the stuff that we see in mainstream media and stuff.
and I'm sure I would be differently
I would feel differently if I met him like you did
but for me it's just like I can't get over all this stuff
There's too much
There's just too much for me
With him
Part of me thinks like when he's doing the stuff
He's just tarnished in my brain
Like when you were talking about the stuff he was doing with the fans
I'm like he's just doing that to like help his
But nobody was around
I know I know I just think like he's so fucking
Calculated like that
He's just playful boys
He was just having a good time
I don't know he's so calculated man
he calculates every step he takes.
Let me ask this. Tiger loves him.
Does that make you think?
Tiger loves a lot of people.
Tiger is very loving these days, which I don't love that about Tiger these days.
No, that's not. It wasn't.
No, I was.
But he's very friendly with everybody now, it seems.
I don't think he would say a bad word about anybody publicly.
I'm sure Bryson DeCampo is one of the boys, and he cracks open beers, and he wants to talk and he probably fucking reads barstool.
He's probably a cool dude.
But he's just, when he takes out a protractor on the guy, I just, it's just too much, man.
It is too much.
names his fucking clubs. They're all the same
size. It's just too much for me. I know he's supposed to
be school. He's definitely, he's clearly like a little
bit of a dork and all that. Totally.
But he's a very genuine
guy, and I do like that he's
different. And we said that
weeks ago. I know. We're like...
We've talked about the tour needs personalities.
He's certainly one of them. Right. Because he is
different. That doesn't mean I don't have to
like the difference. It's true. I understand. That's true.
My different is Ricky being like
a Cali bro that looks like he just got off
you know,
killing a wave.
Just shredded the gnarredded the gnar.
That's my different.
I don't need the guy out here,
you know,
with his,
like,
his black and his rulers
and his,
yeah,
his computer brain.
We'll see what you guys
think when you meet,
Price and D'Shea.
Yeah,
talks to him for two minutes,
loves him.
I mean,
I'm,
I've always said that I'm a pussy
when I meet the people.
We've said that before
when we were down
at the Zurich,
and we saw Bryson.
He looked like a lineback.
Are you bigger than you think he's
Yeah, what am I going to say?
Hey, bro,
where's your root motherfucker?
Hey, bro, where's your protractor?
Hey, man, I'll bash you on my...
I'll bash you on my podcast all the time.
What's up?
Hey, bro.
What are you talking about?
Hey, man, nice to meet you.
I fucking hate your guts.
Hey, bro, where's your pro track?
Yeah.
Yeah, you bring calculator out here?
Boom, roasted, Bryson.
And also shout out to Kevin Kisner, who continued to be the man.
So cool.
I love that he has been playing so well in majors recently, and people get to see just how cool he is.
Yeah.
Because he gets more media exposure and he gets interviewed, and he's very funny.
And he's just, he's just like,
guy being a dude all the time.
All the time.
He's just such a normal dude.
He's literally a like South Carolina Hillbilly who just happens to be really good at golf.
And he's just the most down-to-earth, normal dude in the world.
Does have to figure out how to play golf on the weekend in a major championship.
True.
That is true.
He's going to have to figure that out at some point.
So Kiz, we know what to work on.
It's Sunday and Saturday at major championships.
I talked about Tiger thinking that he gave away two majors.
Kiz has really been right there.
He's got to be kicking himself.
You don't get many chances.
But then he's probably like, yeah.
All right.
I think so.
I think he's just like, yeah, you know, whatever.
I think he probably says like, ah, fuck, like for a second.
And then he's like, where are my boys at?
He did text me on Friday night, and he was like, it's fucking ten bombers and me on the leaderboard.
That's unreal.
It's pretty true.
We looked up with the leaderboard.
It was literally everybody bombs the golf ball.
And then there's kids who hits at like two seven years or whatever he does.
So love kids, obviously.
Shout to Logan, Logan Spence, our guy who filmed all those videos.
and edited the podcast and all that.
How'd that go?
Great.
He was awesome.
Follow St. Louis guy.
Real good dude.
Fellow St. Louis guy.
He's a really good dude.
That was great work and just no problems.
He had good ideas and whatnot.
We were buzzing around.
He's very confident buzzing around the player area, the interview area and all that
with just all the confidence in the world, getting good shots and all that.
So we had ourselves a blast.
Last thing I've got to ask you guys is this.
Is bringing your rangefinder as a spectator to a,
tournament. A brutal move or
an awesome move? I think it's a wild move. I started
laughing as you started saying that. I think
it's a wild move. It's definitely brutal.
But
God damn, would I not
like to know what the yardages are if I'm right next to a
player? I fucking love that. And it doubles as
a binoculars. It does double
as a binocular. That's true. I mean,
with one eye, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's
not as good as a real binocular, but like it
zooms up. I mean, yeah, it's a crazy
move. I can see a dad
doing it. I can't see like a college
bro just whooping out the fucking the Callaway
the Bushnell
In the age of social media
You're going to get sniped
You just got to accept that
There was a guy sitting right in front of us
On Saturday morning
Just with range findering everything
He's like he's walking with Tiger
No he was just sitting
You imagine just like
Just like sitting on a grandstand
That's what he was doing
Sitting on a grandstand
Just like shooting the players coming out
We were like on the 12th fairway
Just we sat and they had chairs
They put chairs out
He sat in his chair all day
with a range fighter.
But buddy,
the yardage isn't getting any different.
I think he was using it mostly
as like a binocular and like...
Well, that's wild.
He was trying to figure...
He was also triangulating how far guys were.
Okay.
So like if he knew he was like 180 from the pin
and this guy was like 17 yards that way,
he was doing some math.
That's a dad move.
That's a dad move, like you said.
No, I say I would like to know the yardage's,
but if I don't know the guys' clubs,
it really doesn't matter.
Yeah, it kind of matters though.
Just like...
Like, I love watching on TV,
knowing a guy's hitting a hundred
178-yard 9-iron.
Totally, but it's also, it's cool.
Like, knowing that a guy has 190 versus 140 is cool.
Yeah.
You know, that's like 190's a fucking serious call shot.
Yeah, that's true.
I thought it was a...
We were laughing at the guy at first, and then, like, five minutes later, we were like,
I wish we had a range finder.
Yeah.
He'd be fucking awesome.
We had a range finder.
All right.
Next up, we got Taylor Ford.
He is the caddy for Stewart.
I actually had one thing to ask you guys.
I had a couple notes in here from the weekend.
Actually, two things that I noticed.
Frankie notepad.
All right.
This is Frankie
A notepad on the iPhone
I didn't bring my
I've kind of fallen off that
The handwriting
That's a hard discipline to stick to you
You're writing stuff down all the time
You know what happened
I had a shitty book
And it's
And the crease of the book
Came apart and it became a chore
To keep this thing together
I do miss the images of you
Just whipping out your
Today would have been a great day
Because I have some notes
Two things that I want
To just get your take on
The Gary Woodland
When he went from bunker to bunker
And the ball just
And they just didn't rake the bunkers
Yeah
That was like one of the most
craziest things I've ever seen in a professional golf event.
Outrageous.
Like, what were they going to do there?
Were they just, like, they were just going to wait until they were gone?
What's the protocol there?
I mean, I've been a caddy.
Usually, you just, right after the guy hits, you rake his fucking thing out.
And they, two golfers golf in the same spot, and neither caddy raked the bunker.
That's a wild move.
I did, was it just like a misunderstanding?
Now, I don't know.
And sometimes in majors, or, I mean, any professional golf course,
Sometimes they have guys standing by the bunkers who just rake the bunkers.
They do that in the British Open.
Okay.
I just, I don't understand how that happened.
And Woodland looked like he was going to murder someone.
Yeah.
You walk up to your ball and you see it.
You're in a professional, you're in a major.
And your ball is just amongst, like, footprints in the green, like you're at the Eisenhower Blue Course.
That's how, that can't happen.
That just can't happen.
Who do you think that falls on?
They got to be able to go back on the tape and find out who, which player was in there last.
You know what I mean?
They have to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's true.
I mean, it just made me cringe as a caddy.
I couldn't believe it.
And I know someone got that look from either Woodland or someone from the course that was just like, you guys fucked up.
Dude, I caddied for my buddy in the Mass.
I am one time, Massachusetts Aminer.
And I legitimately took Raking the Bunkers insanely seriously.
Yeah, you have to.
Insanely seriously.
Because your worst nightmare is exactly what happened with Gary Woodland.
It just can't happen.
It's unacceptable.
And you never think it's going to be your guy's ball.
You're going to think it's the group behind you and then you're going to get fired or you're going to get in trouble when you're caddying just a regular loop.
But for me, I mean, your own guy going from beach to beach to beach.
That's insane.
Insane.
Yeah.
That was nuts.
I don't know how.
I don't know if that's, you think it's like ever happened.
I don't think so.
In like on the major championship?
I think the fact that it wasn't raked proves it's never happened before.
I think that they both thought, both caddies thought there's no chance a ball comes back in here.
We'll grab it on the way out.
Yeah, which is a really, really risky
It's a risky move.
My other thing was Matt Wallace is a hole in one.
He takes the ball out of the hole and just chucks it into the gallery.
Couldn't believe it.
Do you like it? Do you love it or hate that move?
I hate it.
Really?
I mean, it's a thing that uncommon.
It's not uncommon, but you're Matt fucking Wallace.
Vern Lunkwis called him Mike.
No one knows who this guy.
Vern Lundquist just called him Mike.
I think it's a cool moment.
If you're hitting a hole in one, you have to,
you're going to throw the ball, you're telling me now that you think that ball has some sort of
value to it.
I'm going to give this ball to the crowd.
They can sell it like someone else deserves it.
You're Matt Wallace.
That may be the biggest moment of your career.
Yeah.
That ball has no value to the person that caught it.
So you're saying if you're like Matt Coocher, maybe you throw it.
You throw it.
But if you're fucking Matt Wall...
You throw it.
You make someone like life.
This is a holy one on a Sunday on a major.
You're making your own life with that one.
If you're Matt Wallace, hold on to the goddamn ball.
Put it on a mantle.
That's a story you can tell every time.
You're talking point for the rest of your life.
I think that's fair.
I can't believe he did it.
I could not believe he.
I was infuriated that he threw it.
I guess I wasn't mad as much as I just couldn't believe it.
I was stunned.
I thought it was a sense of like he thought he was more valuable than he is.
Oh, you thought he was pukking up the crowd.
He was peacocking the shit.
I mean, I'd be peacocking too if I made him a high five and shit.
I get that.
Bring yourself down to earth and think about like.
It's tough in the moment, Frank.
You made a whole one.
I know, but think about the mantle.
Think about like, that's your moment.
But you do have a chance to walk to the hole.
you kind of calmed down a little bit.
He still was like, I'm throwing this ball under the crowd.
He didn't even take a second to think about it.
Big shout out to our guy Willie Wilcox is hole in one on the 17th at Sawgrass.
Great video if you're out there.
Frankie, he goes bananas.
It's a great video.
Bananas.
Oh, it's such a good video.
I mean, he's like jumping off the walls when he gets a hole-in-one.
I mean, I think I'd be in the same position.
But, I mean, if Vern Lunkwist doesn't know your name, you put the ball in your pocket.
Yeah, you probably put the ball in your pocket.
All right, we got Taylor Ford, Stuart Sinks, Cattie.
inside the ropes with myself as well with Tiger Woods on Saturday.
On Sunday they were a group or two in front of Tiger.
He talks all about the entire experience.
This is Taylor Ford.
All right, we now have a very special guest.
Our buddy Taylor Ford.
Taylor has been on before.
He is Stuart Sinks caddy.
We had Stu on a couple months ago at this point now.
And we had him on.
That was our first time we ever had a caddy player on at the same time.
I caught up with Taylor.
quite a bit this past weekend at the PGA championship in St. Louis.
Big week for your boy.
I believe he finished tied for fourth, playing fantastic.
It's the Monday afterwards.
What are you up to right now, Taylor?
How are we feeling about the weekend?
I don't think you really hit me.
I kind of feel like I blacked out for the last two days.
It was quite a weekend.
Obviously, playing a side-down Saturday was just like bananas.
Not only that, we actually had to play, I think, like, 13 holes or something like that before on Saturday to finish the Friday round.
So I felt like Sunday, like I thought like that was a Monday.
It felt like a Monday.
Like the tournament was over after Saturday.
Like, um, so after after Saturday's rounds, dude looked at me.
He was like, we have to play tomorrow.
So, I mean, we were just exhausted.
I felt like four rounds with, with Tiger because just every shot, you're just like, so.
focused and I mean you can't do anything but stay in the moment with them because every shot feels
like you're you know coming up the 72nd on a Sunday in a major with Tiger like in you're the
final group like every shot feels like the last shot in his group so just mentally draining for
one whole day let alone 30 holes or whatever we played that day yeah so uh so there's a lot to get
to obviously uh you know you guys you guys played with Tiger all day Saturday uh I
I was there.
My actually, my first rendezvous with you was off the 10th T.
You came strolling down after you guys had teed off.
And there's, I mean, there's fucking chaos.
It's just pandemonium everywhere.
And you kind of saw me.
I could see you were like, what the hell is Riggs doing in here?
Hey, inside the road, I will credential reporter.
Yeah.
Right.
Oh, yeah.
I kind of expected it, you know.
We're very, very legitimate operation around here.
But you kind of came over, gave me a little fist pump.
You were like, holy shit, this is intense.
Yeah.
So let's back up.
Let's talk about just kind of the crowds in general.
I mean, you know, you've been out there on tour.
You've been to every event you could imagine.
What was different, I mean, this week, about the St. Louis crowds?
Like, big ups to St. Louis.
Monday week, I flew in like 10 o'clock, and I just rocked up straight to the course of, like, 11.
And 11 a.m. on a Monday was, like, wide.
I don't know who was playing.
I think DJ and a couple of guys were playing.
I eventually caught up with Steve and Billy Horshaw and Brent Snedeker and someone else.
The crowd itself at like noon on a Monday was, I mean, better than your average weekend crowd at any other tournament on a Monday.
And so I was like, wow, we're going to have a pretty good week here.
and I mean they just got so
lucky that Tiger ended up
you know having a great week
because that crowd was made for that
like the venue, the layout
everything was made for what happened
like if it was and you know
and the crowd was super respectful
the whole you know the whole week
they were there were roars but there weren't like
too many you know dumb you know
in the middle of your swing shots
none of those like mashed potatoes
none of the stupid
sayings that you get
Although, like, I sneakie love light scandal.
Like, I don't know why.
I just find it funny.
But the crowd was awesome.
And I think they just got lucky with, you know,
having a staff leaderboard and they played right into it.
It was one for, I mean, I can't imagine a major being that loud in the past.
I really can't.
Yeah, it was nuts.
It was absolutely nuts.
I had heard a bunch about it before being there.
I'm obviously a St. Louis guy,
so I was like, you know, am I overdoing it?
Am I buying into the hype too much because I want everyone to be like,
oh, St. Louis is the greatest place in the world.
It's the best.
I got there on Thursday, and I just, I've never seen,
I guess I've never seen a place so filled out with fans.
I've seen the Tiger Mania.
I've seen, you know, even at Shinnock,
we were following some of the final groups,
the fill crowds on his birthday and all that.
And, you know, it's packed the holes for several holes around those groups.
packed, but it was throughout the entire golf course on a Thursday.
I went to follow even, like, Kisner and those guys, which, like, at Shinnock, no offense
to my guy, Kiz.
At Shinnock, I could hold the guy's fucking hand during the round of golf because, you know,
it just wasn't that packed whole to hole.
I was, like, told my buddies on Thursday, it was like, yeah, we'll go follow Kiz.
There won't be too big of crowds.
There was like three people deep around the entire course trying to follow every group.
It was insane.
So I want to get into a little catty talk.
You mentioned you got there on Monday.
it's a major championship.
Belle Reeve, I'm sure you'd probably never really been there.
You guys don't have any real memories there or anything like that.
What are your duties look like, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, getting ready for a major?
Well, typically a week for me, a normal week, I travel Monday, and, you know, if I can get there,
and I might cruise a few, like, the back nine on Monday evening.
But this week, you know, I'd be in a major, I've never seen the course.
I got there early on Monday, walked as many holes as I could, caught up with, like, Jim
Jurich group, and I tried to ask Floss for some info, because he's been there probably
like a dozen times, a dozen rounds or whatever, the past tournament's there in 2008 and 2002 stuff.
And I think Jim, I actually found this out after I talked to him, but Jim shot 52 there in 2008,
I think, and the NW championship.
But I asked Fluff, I said, without knowing that, I said, hey,
you've been out here before he's like yeah a couple times
he's just like a straight shooter
I said you got anything like sticks out to you
and he goes honestly Taylor
not really I don't really remember this course a lot
and I'm like thanks for the info
thanks a lot dude that else
great intel yeah so I had to
you know I had to put in my work
it was really about just for me
but I don't I don't really care about like carries
and run out, and that week you actually didn't need to at all.
But I really focus on, like, conditions of the course,
which is not a soft green,
but if you're looking for misses, like left side,
there's the right side, certain distances,
like carrying bunkers and, you know,
if you miss on the right side and you go next to 20 yards,
the rough might be way better than laying back 20 yards in the rough.
So, you know, it changes to a couple T-shots sometimes.
Around the green,
need to know bunkers.
With slow green, even though, like, you don't want to be short-sighted, it's a little bit
better, but there's still just stuff that you have to look at around the green.
You know, you can't.
That course, you know, with, like, seven feet below the pin on the left on 11 on Sunday.
You know, you didn't want to be pin higher short.
So actually, we got to do an argument, like, on, not an argument.
You know, we got into a good chat on 11.
You know, he's like, well, what do you think about three was?
Because I think the front was 269 on Sunday.
And I'm like, buddy, I think it's driver.
You don't want to be short.
So little stuff like that,
like knowing that you don't want to be in certain places.
So good thing I'd, you know, I don't know,
to hit driver and hit past the pin,
had a good look just an awkward little lie.
But stuff like that really ends up making a difference
because, you know, if you end up coming up a little bit short,
left on 11, and you got short sighted,
you need to hit like a tricky little shot,
and then you get too cute,
you leave it short and you might be doing with a little,
little, uh, stupid bogey or something like that.
How, uh, how, how much do you have to kind of match up, I guess, how, how, how he's hitting
the ball, how far he's hitting the ball in certain weather, right?
Because, I mean, the ball, it was hot as shit out there.
So the ball's going further in 95 degree humidity than it is, you know, when you're playing
a couple weeks earlier at the, at the open championship and it's like 60 degrees.
So, you know, I'm curious.
How much, how do you guys do those numbers?
Do you have kind of a standard conversion or what goes into all that?
I mean, for us, I think that's one of the things that he likes about having me on the bag is pretty much we think quite a bit alike as far as seeing the shot,
thinking how it's going to end up come out of, you know, the fairway or the bunker or the rough or whatever.
It was hot.
The balls were going so far.
So, you know, you can't really, it's not like altitude where, you know, you can do 10% or 5% or cold weather where it's like 50 to 50 degrees or whatever and you add 5%, stuff like that.
I think you just, you kind of get a feel for it.
And we do a couple things that help our approach to the green, you know, zone.
We kind of zone things out, figure out numbers with that.
And then we kind of decide, you know, if the flag is 154, you know, if the flag is 154, you know,
yards, but it's towards the back and there's only like six behind it, but that gives it 160
to the back. And so we would zone that and say, hey, look, max with the soft greens is 154.
And then, you know, so we'd say 154 to 147 probably. And that kind of just easier, like,
makes it easier to decide, hey, that's, and if there's no wind or something like that, then, hey,
147 is a perfect wedge and it's going to go, it's a little bit hot. And so, you know,
it shouldn't go more than 154. And just stuff like that.
instead of saying, hey, well, it's hot, you know, 154, I want to land this 154,
well, you know, it might have a little bit of into the wind.
So they try and hit a nine.
Well, they forget that it's going to go like 165 yards in the cloud of game.
Right.
So stuff like that.
I mean, I would say, you know, about 10 yards, 6 iron was stocked 6 irons, 198.
It was going about 208, 210, 212.
Then, you know, if you got a little bit of help, then you factor and stuff, I think, I don't know how to explain it. I just know it.
I like that. It's just like a feel thing.
So.
I kind of like that. I always, I always do that video games where you kind of learn how to do certain tricks in different games and stuff.
People like, oh, how do you like, what buttons do you hit to do that? I mean, I don't know. I just, I just do it.
I'm just the best.
Right. Like, is that like X, Y and then this? I'm like, I don't know, dude. I just, that's just how my fingers move.
Yeah, it's clockwork, man. Right. Exactly.
So let's talk about Saturday.
You know, you guys had played well.
You got yourself in the mix.
You find out you're paired up with Tiger.
What, you know, for you, are you like juiced up?
Is that like an extra, an extra factor?
Are you like, holy shit, this is kind of the pinnacle of my job?
Or are you kind of just focused on, hey, like, Stu, is it a mix?
Where is your mindset going into a Saturday afternoon, a major with Tiger?
I was like, this is the dream.
Like, this is literally why I'm chatting.
We bogey the last hole, number nine on, like, on our second round, 18 holes, which
was nine hole.
And I'm like, oh, man, like, almost had to ball it up and down.
It was like, I don't know.
But I peaked.
I freaked out.
I was like, oh, my goodness, like, this is going to be insane.
Like, I can't wait.
And then I kind of had to collect myself and say, all right, now.
think about Stu.
I became a fan.
I was like,
do let's go.
And so,
you know,
I just kind of gathered myself
and really had to kind of figure out
how to like keep Stu
calm collected in the beginning,
have a couple dumb chats
and get it going,
get it off to a good start.
So I don't know.
I was pumped.
I'm sure he was,
but I'm sure he was awesome.
Maybe kind of freaking out a little bit.
So you and Stu don't talk about it.
It's just business as usual.
You know,
we're going to go out there and try and play a good round?
Well, I told him, I said, embrace the chaos.
From the get-go, I said, this is going to be bananas, man, just embrace the chaos.
And I told him, I said, hey, look, I know he's 45.
He's been on tour for 22 years now, but I said, look, these are the moments that you grew up playing golf for.
Like, this is what you pictured.
And so, you know, he kind of, I think, took it and accepted it and embraced the chaos and shot 400,
died tigers had a chance to beat him on the last door.
It was fun.
It was a lot of fun.
Yeah, I was going to say he played awesome,
that four under 66 when you're playing with Tiger
and that kind of environment,
which the fans were just going nuts.
He was playing well, but I've never felt,
I mean, it was like 30 or 40,000 people were hanging
on every single putty hit.
You told me, so on 10, like I said,
when I saw you for the first time,
and you gave me that look,
and we kind of like, we fist-pumped a little bit,
and you were like,
And this is fucking awesome.
Yeah.
When he hit that shot at 17, I mean, there were a couple before that, but on 17, I forgot I was catty.
I was like, holy, like, let's go.
Go in the hole.
And I completely forgot, like, that I was right next to him and that I was supposed to be working.
That's awesome.
Yeah, you did.
You told me on 18, you're like, man, when he hit that shot in 17, I was like, let's go.
And I was like, wait a second, that's not my guy.
That's not.
Yeah.
Well, he was an idiot.
He hit it pinned high and made par, you know.
You had to hit it short at the bunker, you know, hit it to a foot out of there.
Right, clearly.
Yeah.
So I want to ask you about that on 17 because it looked like we were, I was standing with the whole media pool,
and we were kind of right next to that bunker on 17 that you guys were in.
It looked like there was, did he, like, switch clubs or change shots or something on that bunker shot?
Yeah, yeah.
That kind of goes in with the whole, like, being each other's shots and stuff.
I kind of
I help him out with around the green
more than I really want to
like I wish he would kind of like play
right but he's working out
some new sex techniques and stuff like that
and so he just kind of needs like a little
extra boost to confidence
and that one he was kind of in between
because there's a lot of green
I think it was like 35 yards
so I think the pin was 35 on
and um
front right bunker and you know you got like flat
and then there's like a big swale
that dips down and then goes back up to that
to that back right flag.
Yeah.
You could kind of do whatever you wanted, really.
We were kind of talking, like,
I knew he would feel comfortable hitting, like,
a little chunk and run out of there and maybe do, like,
an open-up gap wedge and just kind of bust one a few feet on
and just let it run, like, trickle down and then go up the hill.
And I kind of was thinking that's a little dicey just because you catch a little heavy
and it comes out a little slow and it just, like, goes down,
and then it goes off to the right,
now you're putting up to the hill uncomfortably.
He looked at me, and he had already grabbed the gap wedge,
and he looked at me, and he was like, what do you think here?
I'm like, honestly, I mean, you can't go wrong,
but I think I'm seeing, like, flying it up there three-quarters,
like just into the face with the green there,
and then having it kind of run out.
Worst case is you catch it and you fly it there and it would spin,
you know, and very worst-case, you kind of catch it.
little heavy and it just runs out into the swell.
So I thought percentage-wise it was better to be hitting a flyland there a little bit further.
So he hated it, he listens, switched clubs, and he said he felt more comfortable with that.
And we kind of just really work on visualizing the shot, seeing it, getting, he's working
on these new techniques.
So like I kind of tell him, like, you know, work on stability, open up your shoulders,
let the club, you know, let the gravity, work the club down, just way too much stuff.
But to him, it makes sense.
And so he hit it.
He hit right where we were talking about.
It ended up going to, like, eight inches and tapped in right after both those guys hit it pin high and two.
And unfortunately, three-putted.
Tiger broke my heart.
He broke everybody's heart.
I know.
I was like, I was like, we tapped in for Bernie, and I was like heartbroken.
I was like, Stu beat us on that hole?
How did that happen?
What is it going on here?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I'm like, Joe.
Like, give me the bag, dude.
Like, forgot what was going on.
And then the other thing I want to talk about is on 18th.
So we're walking up 18 with you guys.
Obviously 18, the massive, massive gallery all around the 18th green and really kind of
fouling the entire hole.
You guys hit it into the right rough.
And I was walking up the right rope.
So I was actually kneeling, which shout out to me.
That's a professional inside the ropes movie.
Neil so that all the fans.
can see and i will say to the fans when because those people i mean they stand there for like an
hour or two hours waiting for tiger to come through basically here comes fucking and then when you
come waltzing in with the media crowd and you stand in their way like the fans are in ice but
you get the worst like version of these people for like a five second window but they go get down
in front we've been here all fucking damn just like late lady i'm gonna get down relax like settle
that. I heard a guy say, $160 for this few.
And they do, they chirp like the scoreboard carriers, those guys that carry like how the
group's doing, they yell at those people, they yell at everybody. And I don't blame them.
Like, you wait all day.
Yeah, camera guys, they don't care. No, they don't care. So anyways, I knelt down. And since
they had hit it, you guys had hit it in the right rough, I was like 15 feet away from you
as you were hitting your approach into 18. And I heard a very, I was picking up bits and pieces.
I couldn't hear every word. But it was clearly.
a disagreement and you guys were talking through the shot so talk us through what all went into
the shot on 18 um yeah so on 18 he hit it in the right rough and uh it was kind of like he he judges
flyers really well and so like i can't like fully like if he if he says you know i think this is
flyer i'm gonna be like yeah okay i'm not going to disagree with you and so when he said that
I think he had like 175 or something, like 176.
I think it was like 168 front, 176 hole, something like that.
And so, you know, he hits his 8 iron, 168 is like stock.
And seven irons 188 stock.
And so there was some wind into us.
And he called a flyer.
And I'm like, well, you know, and he's like, you know, I think it should be a good
eight and I said, I mean, how confident are you always going to be a flyer? He goes, absolutely
a thing to flyer. I said, okay, well, if it isn't, you know, we're going to end up
of the green. It's going to be a touchy little up till because of the greens elevate us.
It's going to be a tough little chip. What do you think of seven iron goes? And he goes, because
the end of the wind, you know, we typically play about 10 to 15 yards for a flyer and I thought it was
about 10 to 15 yards for a win. So he goes, I think it's going to go about the, you know,
normal number, which is 88. And I said, well, if you're looking at it,
that way then, you know, 88 is going to be still just shore this ridge.
There's like the ridge, actually funny enough where they put the pit on Sunday.
It was like a stupid tent that did it right there on top of the ridge.
And so I said, well, you're going to be right around there.
And if the flyer is going to come out hot and it's going to have skin for the same to sit.
And he's like, all right, well, then it's a seven.
And I said, okay, I'm just sitting here like praying that I'm not going to make him look like an idiot
and just fly the green.
20 yards over the green.
Yeah.
And so he hits it, and sure enough, he was a flyer, and I'm like, oh, my God.
He's like, sit, sit.
And I'm like, just telling myself, like, shit.
And he lands at 188.
I mean, just like chip, right?
I mean, he looked at me and he goes, that ball landed 188 yards from, from, like, where he just said that he talked at.
He was like, he goes, that was a good call.
Got him.
Oh, thank goodness.
Yeah.
I mean, just stuff like that that I'm not scared to tell him,
and especially I have the right player that if I were wrong,
he wouldn't say anything.
He would just keep walking.
I mean, he is so unbelievably, like, respectful.
And so if I was wrong, he would know that and I would know that,
but there would be no need to, like, you know,
just berate me for 185 yards out to the green.
Yeah, he would know that might.
I mean, he's the best when it comes to attitude and stuff like that.
So luckily, it was right, and he actually almost made the putt, but.
So Sunday, I do, we love, I love, love, love.
That's the biggest thing, but I wish they did a better job of in golf coverage is just getting mics in there with the caddy players chats.
I would have loved to hear that whole conversation.
The announcers just wouldn't talk for like five minutes of time and you just heard the caddy and player going back and forth over shots.
I always think of like Stevie Williams and Tiger on the,
72nd hole at Torrey Pines in 2008 and all that stuff.
So I love hearing those stories.
Let's talk about Sunday then, just briefly.
You know, you guys are out there.
You're not playing with Tiger, but the roars.
He's making a charge.
You guys played great.
You shot 67 and ended up tied for fourth, like I said.
But what were the roars like out there?
Because on TV, it sounded like it was just the loudest thing I've ever heard.
Yeah, I mean, it started off, like, from the jump.
We were on two, and Tiger hit one.
I haven't even watched anything because I finished the round and I booked it like to the
flight was at 7 o'clock so I don't even know when we finished I got to the airport like just
ran to the plane and made it home so I haven't seen anything really except for tigers pot on 18
but I think you hit it close on one and because I heard it oh he did he hit it to like 7 feet
okay yeah well I heard it on two and you know obviously being one good
from fun of them, you know, the way that the course goes.
There's a lot of key boxes next to the greens and stuff like that.
So, I mean, it was just insane.
I think it was actually easier on Saturday being in it because, you know,
when you hear roars, like, outside of this group, one, you could be, like,
standing over shot instead of just, you know, being in the group and having everyone else quiet
or you hitting.
And then, two, like, when you just hear.
random other roars, like from people in, like, hospitality tents, watching it on TV because
it's tape related to just, like, a few seconds. Or, like, you know, when they post it on the
leaderboard, like, you'll hear a roar from, like, a random hole. Because you see, like, you know,
say he burtied, whatever, whatever hole he's buried, like, say he buried 11 or something like that.
And, well, you would hear it, like, on 14 or 15, just because the leaderboard would show,
like, him changing, you know, to 11 under through.
11 and you know just
rulers
that's awesome
so cool
and a lot of times
you're kind of standing on the
like watching your player stand over the ball
just like please don't hear a roar right now
like that's gotta be madness
yeah that's got a lot
yeah I could tell that's just got to be
like the anxiety would kill me of like oh god
please don't just come on tiger
wait like 20 seconds
I mean well honestly
Jason
we repair Jason
And his caddy is actually about 20 feet from me.
He lived together.
He lives with me and Jason's from Westerville.
I've known for a long time.
So it was actually a good round of his fun and a little bit less rowdy.
But, I mean, that's the funny thing.
Like, if it was like a Sunday at another event, that crowd on Sunday in our group would have been insane.
And I'd have been, like, feeling nervous and stuff.
but, you know, it felt like nothing.
It felt like a practice round after Saturday's round.
Yeah, Brooks Kepka said in his interview yesterday, too, they asked about the Tiger
Wars, and he was talking about the trickle roars, and he was saying that, you know, you hear
it when Tiger makes the actual birdie.
He's like, and then you hear it trickle to the different holes as they update the leaderboards.
You hear roars from all those fans and have been sitting around those holes.
So it's just crazy.
Yeah, that's exactly it.
That's so crazy to think about.
So, awesome finish.
How are we feeling about Stu's game?
It's been a hell of a year.
You guys got to be pumped going forward.
Well, spoiler alert.
That T4, that purty putty made on 18,
qualified him for the Masters.
Wow.
Holy shit.
Really?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Huge.
Hell yeah.
Huge.
That's exciting.
Yeah, so that's pretty cool.
He just texted me, like, straight up.
Like, I was about to be on the plane, and I got to text and just said Masters.
What a great text again.
Maybe the best text you could ever get.
That just gave me chills.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I don't think it's still like really hit me.
So having him make that putt.
He might miss a couple of short ones like throughout the round.
For him to make that kind of like the race that off.
That is so cool.
Yeah.
It was cool.
Awesome.
I can see him like performing well.
I think he's like 50, fifth in the FedEx, like top 70 in the world again now.
Like the old man still got.
And everyone in every group always says, like, he's sneaky long.
I'm like, yeah, he is.
Like, Gumby.
He is, a tall, lanky.
He's Gumby.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
He's still, like, his flexibility is insane.
He warms up, like, 30 minutes before every round.
I'm like, Fred Cupples takes, like, 12 hours to warm up.
Some guys just got it.
He's got a lot of time left.
Yep.
Yeah.
Well, Taylor Ford, Caddy for Stewart Sink.
If you see him out there, you see Taylor.
