And it is just all, like, on our brains all the time is all these things about golf that we have to talk about.

It's crazy because we thought, well, our shows have been extending so long. They've been going like an hour and a half. We should do two shows. Now they go like an hour and 45 minutes every time. I know. Because we just, we record Mondays, and then it comes out Tuesday. So you get hit with both of them twice for us. and then we record Wednesday and it comes out Thursday.

So it's like Monday through Thursday, I'm just talking golf. I'm thinking golf. I'm thinking about my wedges. I'm thinking about my new clubs that I'm going to be hitting. I'm just thinking about golf. And it's honestly with how busy we've been in this office, this month. This is the busiest month of my career of just working since I was like 13 years old. I was working at Brewery.

I just can't stop like doing things. And like thinking about golf, getting this new stuff, just like to be in your head. Like the way the rider cups coming up, Tiger, everything just makes me feel better. It brings me back to life. Golf brings me back to life. I couldn't possibly agree more. We've got a ton of, there's just more storylines to get to as well. We're not going to be able to dissect and go through all of these

because I really want to focus this show on Keegan Bradley in the conversation with him because it's incredibly insightful. He talks through certain shots that he hit. He talks through certain moments, what was going through his head. So that stuff's really cool. I want to focus on that. However, there are some things we need to get off of our chest and discuss a little bit. The first one, I will be at the Ryder Cup.

It is a damn shame that the whole squad cannot be there. We only have two credentials. This is Rider Cup Europe. Yep. That runs the whole thing. So the fact that we're able to get the two is amazing. Incredible. We need somebody to get all of the content and all of the action, which is going to be me.

And we have to have somebody that films it and edits it in real time and all of that, which is going to be our boy, Logan. So same team is at the PGA. Who's an incredible camera guy, incredibly fast editor. He's great. He's great. He really is. And he loves golf. He loves golf.

Yep. St. Louis, dude. So you and him are good. St. Louis guy. He had a little good rapport. Yeah. We're going to be in France. Never been to France.

Don't speak French. We're going to be there all week. Are you prepared for that? We're going to be there. Absolutely not. We're going to be there Wednesday morning until Monday morning. We're going to be all over the place. We're going to be in Paris for a day.

We're going to be at the tournament for like five days, four days. There's a chance we might be staying in Versailles because it's like 20 minutes away from the golf course. I don't even know what that. Versailles sounds like it's in like ancient Egypt. I just know that it's supposed to be like this magically gorgeous place that's like near Paris. I mean, it's Versailles. Riggs and Logan are going to be, like, sitting on top of, like, one of those gondola rivers that, like, and they're going to be sipping on, like, I don't even, I was about to think of, like, a French drink. Like the red wine.

French martini. Yeah, I guess, like the, yeah, like the French Alps, like aren't those, isn't that some of the best wine, the grapes? Now, we say you're going to be doing this, but in reality, you're going to be grinding. You're going to be watching golf. It is true. You're going to be out there. You're going to be doing the damn thing for us here on the homeland. There's always a lot of pressure.

When you go, you know, the companies invest in you to fly all the way to Paris. to cover the biggest golf event of the year. So there's a lot of pressure. There's pressure on you from just the USA too. Like you're, you are representing our country. Correct. I'm going to be dressed in red, white and blue,

inside the ropes. It's going to be very similar to the U.S. Open where I was inside the ropes, but blatantly rooting for Matt Parsiali and for Tiger and all these guys. So it'll be a little bit of that same deal at the PGA where I was just clapping in the media center. Briggs, I cannot imagine what the feeling is going to be like

off the T when Tiger Woods hits a drive at the Ryder Cup with that setting where people going nuts. I'm getting the chills right now. like you wouldn't believe it. I could start fucking crying. When he hits a drive and everyone's like, let's go. And like if he gives you a fistball,

like, oh, let's go. It is going to be outrageous. I cannot wait. So I will be in Paris. We're going to talk much more about that as it gets closer.

We're still two plus weeks away. Trent added, do you have some updates on DJ and Paulino? I do have an update. So last we left, there was a, what was last time we talked about? It was,

had any other news broken? It was Monday night, and I don't believe much had really happened. The socialite business had not come out yet. We had only known about the news that it broke that she had deleted all the pictures off for Instagram. The new news is that there is rumors that a golf sociolite from the Sherwood Country Club named Yassie Safee. I'm probably getting that very wrong. I think you nailed it.

At the core of this that her and DJ have gotten a little too friendly over the years and that Pauline doesn't like that. The golf socialite has since come out on Instagram and said that it is not true that they don't have any sort of relationship. and then last night the biggest one DJ sent out a tweet and he said every relationship goes through its up and downs but most importantly we love each other very much and are committed to being a family thank you for your love and support and like I said this morning on the radio that is the first he's the first person to be like all right there is actually something going on

everything else was sort of hearsay yeah because you could have always you could have even thought like oh maybe she just for her brand she wanted to like get rid of the guy on her Instagram because she's trying to flaunt herself right like you could have possibly thrown that as a theory once he comes out and says like what he's said there's a problem. By the way, stunning to me that he decided to address this. Like, I know this is a hot button topic in our world where it's like, oh, my God, Paulina delete all these pictures off of her Instagram.

But to everybody else in the world, I'm not even sure they knew it was going on. I got some pressure from her, you know, maybe there's something going. There's definitely... I'm getting all this heat. Maybe you need to do something. And he was like, fuck it. I'll do something. Right.

So, but yeah, that's kind of where we're at. It sounds like they're trying to work through it. If you want to try to read into that tweet that he sent out, I don't know where we go from here, but there's something going on between Dussie. and Pauline the Coole. And I know everybody out there listening. You're all thinking it. We've heard every DJ rumor you've heard as well, okay?

Every one of them about every different woman, about every different tournament where it could have happened at, about the Masters last year. We've heard every single rumor you've ever heard. We don't know if we believe them. We don't believe. I would say 99.999% we don't believe. But you out there, you're thinking it. You're probably thinking like, should I email those guys? Do they know about this?

Do they know about that? Yep. We've heard them all. So all of that goes into this where you're all thinking like, well, I've heard this or that. So it's a very murky, very interesting situation. They've been engaged for five years. Two children engaged for five years. Which is a problem.

Deleted from the Instagram. Kind of a weird situation. Kept up the Tiger one, which that's kind of what everybody was latching on to. People are like, oh, is this a clue? No, probably not, but it gets the people going. Oh, yeah. We talked last week or earlier this week how you got memed. I did get memed.

Oh, yeah. Yep. So I thought we'd bring that up here. And also, I mean, I know it went super viral in our little world, right? lot of blogs were probably putting it up but trent was like pretty quick on that one so i wonder if you're the one that ignited you know the fire underneath i mean he's first reported like first report i mean paulina may have like seen our blog for the first like your blog and then like there may have been a conversation in the johnson house where like trent like was posting about it

we got to watch what's on fucking bar still like everyone like not even may have done this right that's the thing when i saw the dustin johnson tweet last night i was like i almost felt bad about it because I was like, damn, like, I know it's my job to report these types of things, and we were the first place to have it. But that's, it did set off a series of events that led to Justin Johnson, Dustin Johnson being like, I have to now address my engagement on Twitter. We'll see how it unfolds. It's, of course, right up your alley, Trent Daddy.

So, uh, so you'll be on it. I mean, you've been on it ever, ever since the first moment of this, first reported. Uh, last thing we're going to talk about. Then we're going to throw it to Keegan Bradley. Uh, Tiger, these comments that he made, uh, about lifting. He said, I'm going to take a long break after the Rider Cup, and we're going to evaluate things. But more importantly, I need to start really lifting and getting after it

and getting stronger in certain areas, because playing every single week seems like every single day is maintenance at this point, a war of attrition. That almost feels like a troll from Tiger. It's just, it's a little concerning. Yeah. You know, we're healthy. We're doing great.

We don't need to start talking about what you need to do. He doesn't need... What your body needs. Don't talk about your body. I just don't love your lifting. You know, He doesn't need to be getting the dumbbell. He just wants his arms to be big.

Like, you don't need that. You need to be sleek and slender now. You don't need to be packing on weight. He's smart. He studies all this stuff, so you got to give him the benefit of the doubt. It is just concerning when he says, like, I really need to start lifting and getting back after it. He is smart. Dude, you're healthy.

But we've kind of gone through this before. He is smart to know his body and what it needs. But that is, he's also gone through that and, like, still been lifting. He just loves to lift. You know, there is a certain degree. Yeah, he used to, like, text Rory. like 4 a.m. Like, I'm uplifting. What are you doing? Which is amazing, but also

concerning because he just gets injured all the fucking time. It's just, it's a little concerning, like I said, Tiger, look, our back looks great. We're ripping the golf ball. Now we started hitting fairways. We'll just get the putter going. It's Scotty season. Shout out the title list. It's back in the bag. All that stuff. And then it's like, over the off season, he's going to go

ham on the weights and all of a sudden we're back. So, it's a little concerned. We don't want anything to change from the way he's playing right now to the way he's playing when he steps up onto the first tee at the master's. I don't want like his body to be drastically. different. I don't want a new swing. We don't need a new tiger swing with new, with new muscles popping out everywhere. We do not need

that. Put him in a cryogenic freezer. Yes. Until the next season. Relax. Just relax. Just have a good offseason. Settle down. Go to the Bahamas. We'll see you at the Hero World Challenge. You'll put in your backyard. You'll be back out at Torrey Pines and January. Next thing you know, we're building up to the master's. Everybody's staying limber, all that.

It's just, just lifting. Getting after it. Just pump the brakes a little bit. Let's pump the brakes. Another thing I want to mention before we go to Keegan, USGA are good, my are good close personal friend of the USDA and the RNA published the official new rules that will go in effect on January 1st. There's a bunch of them, so we're going to hold off,

we're going to wait until Tuesday, and we're going to break those down. There's a bunch of them like the new OB stuff, relax rules on the greens. So a lot of emotion afterwards. I mean, you've won a major championship and all that, but it's been six years, I believe, since 2012 since the last win. You're showing a lot of emotion. I mean, how much does this mean, dude? It means everything. The, you know, the PGA championship win

will always be kind of the pinnacle of my career so far, but this was special and fun in different ways that might have surpassed that just because, you know, my wife and my wife and my son were there and you know the kind of the struggle and the and all the work I had to put in to get back to that point and it just felt different like it felt more enjoyable that it was just there's just the the joy was incredible it was uh just something like a dream it still feels like a dream yeah and i think uh last time we had you on you know we went through the whole the pGA 2011 and almost i imagine it felt almost like a bit of a surprise at the time yeah I mean, especially my whole rookie year, everything came at me so fast.

It was like a blur. It was, you know, I won earlier in the year and then won the PGA. And I'm, you know, all of a sudden I'm doing, people know who I am and I'm doing interviews. And it just happens so fast. I didn't get a chance to really enjoy or kind of realize what was going on. So, you know, this time with the kind of the struggle to get back here. then to have my family there made it just so incredible. And, you know, I'm able to kind of enjoy this a little more, I think.

So, you know, you kind of keep mentioning the struggle and everybody's talking about, you know, Kegan hasn't won in six years. The, the emotion was incredibly, incredibly clear. How much you wanted it was very clear on the whole back nine, the look in your face and all of that. But you keep mentioning the struggle, you know, what's the, what was the, I don't know if it was the anchor band. and getting around that or whatever. What was kind of the lowest point golf-wise over this whole period? It was a couple of years ago.

I can't exactly get the exact point, but I had a season where, you know, I played the Ryder Cup in Scotland, and then like a year later, I'm fighting just to make the FedEx Cup playoffs. And I was exempt through my PGA winner for something, but I was in danger of not making the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time ever.

and I missed a million cuts. And it was kind of, it all happened at once. I needed to really work on my golf swing, and then they banned the putter. And I wasn't able to put the amount of effort into the putter that I needed to just because of what was going on. And I met my coach, I switched over to my coach now Darren May at that point. And it's just been a steady climb since then. And it took a lot of work to get back to this level. and, you know, that was the big turning point was getting back with Darren.

So let's talk about kind of the putting and all that a little bit, because I feel like, you know, it's been two and a half years or so now that the anchor band's been in place. But what's, you know, what was your approach, I guess, once you even figured out that that was going to happen? Because it is, you know, there's a serious degree of unfairness to it when, you know, guys are told for, you know, basically their whole careers that this is legal, this is legitimate,

you work on that, you hone your craft, it's a huge part of your profession in your life, and then all of a sudden they're just like, you can't fucking do that anymore. Yeah, it was obviously way more difficult than I thought it was. I didn't have a plan together. I just thought, oh, I'm going to switch to a short putter, and it's going to be fine. I mean, every now and then I grab a putter, and it feel great. But they took away thousands of hours of practice and playing, just gone. And not only that, while my hours were taken away, other guys were using it this whole time.

So all of a sudden, I'm turning back the clock six, seven years where I haven't practiced or played with this style putter. And it took me by surprise. I didn't have a plan together to switch over. I just thought, I don't know. I thought it would be fine. and, you know, I didn't get to really, really get down and focus on what I was going to do until probably a year ago. And that's been the big difference. When I got my swing kind of back to where I needed it, I was able to focus on that.

And that's been the big change from, you know, over the last couple years I've been playing good golf. But now when the putter starts to go, now all of a sudden I'm starting to contend. I'm shooting, you know, low, way lower scores, and, you know, that's the big difference. So let's talk about this season. Let's kind of build up to the BMW, a phenomenal season, especially when you kind of put it in the scope of this bit of kind of a key and comeback that you've got going on. You've got five top tens. You've made 22 out of 26 cuts.

You're currently sixth in the FedEx Cup. You got the first win in a long time. At what point in this year did you start to think to yourself, okay, Kagan, it's not just that we're coming back and playing better golf, and we're going to win. Well, the whole year, I finished second in Malaysia to start the year, and I played good enough to win, I thought. I shot around 20 under, and Pat Perez shot like 23. It was just one of those weeks where somebody just beat me and played better. but I came in second clear by three or four shots, and I felt that I had played well enough to win that that week.

And I kind of knew then that, you know, things are a little different. But then throughout the year, I was playing great three rounds and one bad one, or two great ones or, you know, New York to playoff. So it was a good example. I was in the last group and shot 78 in the last round. And then, you know, I fall down to 40th place. and you, from the outside looking in, you see 40th place, but meanwhile, I put together three good rounds.

And, you know, the biggest, it was towards the middle of the year where I was starting to shoot low scores again, or scores under 65, and that's when you know, when you start stringing those together, you know, that's when you can start thinking, man, I got a chance to win a tournament here. And what are your nerve levels like? Because, like you said, you're kind of, in terms of golf,

I don't want to say down on the dumps because you're the man. You got a great life going. You're doing awesome stuff. But in terms of your professional career, golf is the most frustrating thing on the planet. I know because I think at it. But in terms of kind of this comeback and now getting to the point of like, man, I can break through a win again. What were your nerves like in some of these tournaments where you're finishing top five, top ten coming down the stretch versus maybe what they used to be like in 2011, 2012? Well, it's different.

Everything's different, especially I feel like. My career has kind of gone in reverse. I was talking to somebody about this last night. I just came on the tour and I won. And I didn't just win. I won a major. And then now over the last couple of years, I've kind of gone through the progression of what maybe a normal tour player would be.

I'm learning how to play, you know, in the last couple groups again. I'm getting more comfortable being in the last groups. And I kind of took that for granted back then. And even over the last couple years when I've had a chance to win, I'm re-learning what that feels like and how I have to play and feel. And, you know, so that round on Sunday in New York or I shot 78, I probably don't win this week, last week, if I don't shoot that or get in that position. And just the relearning of feeling comfortable and, you know, looking up on the leaderboard

and seeing your leading, you know, that's a big change from, you know, maybe being in 15th place and shooting 5-6-under and coming in 6th. And, you know, that's the biggest difference. What was the, you know, TBC Boston? That's obviously close to your home. You're a New England guy. Did you get the same type of reception, have the same kind of love up in Boston that you usually get?

Yeah, I do. I'm lucky that, see, I went to school in New York, so I actually have a big group of, of people that root for me in New York and then in Boston as well. So these playoffs are, they can be difficult just because there's so many people and I want to play so well for these guys. But when I go to Boston, I get the best reception and people just are pulling for me. And I, again, there, I was in, you know, I was in fifth or sixth place going on the weekend, a couple shots back and I, you know, I shot two over, I think, for the weekend. But the,

the fans in New England have always been so great. to me and it gets me all charged up. I love playing up there. It's awesome. I remember even going out, you know, when I was finished up college in my first couple years in school, going out to the, to TBC Boston. It was the Deutsche Bank back then. And even just we would go follow you just because we were like, Egan's a localish guy, Vermont guy, and the crowds were going crazy for you. It was just like fun to be a part of it. Yeah, it's really, it's a tournament I look forward to, obviously, every year. but what comes with that is also a lot of pressure because I hear the fans and I want to give them because I always think of how incredible it would be to win that tournament because of where I'm from

and I went to school actually I moved to Hopkins in high school and I played high school matches on that course so you know it'd be so fun to play well at that tournament and it's gotten in my way in years past but I always love playing there. What do you think of that course and kind of what Gilhance has done to it over the last 10 years or so? I mean, I don't particularly like the new holes on that course. They're very extreme. I mean, that 12th hole, I think it is. It's a driver and a three iron.

You're hitting downhill to a green that slopes away. I think it's a little extreme those new holes. I don't know what was wrong with the holes before that, but it seems like all these clubs, all these courses, they want to redesign and redesign makes it just harder and harder. Yeah, the 12th, there's a lot of, there's a bit of controversy, especially with a lot of the, you know, kind of the course architecture crew on Twitter and whatnot about the bunker.

They had the centerline bunker. A lot of players didn't like it. It sounds like you didn't love it either. But it is interesting how much they tweak some of these courses. I think the last three courses you guys played on tour were all recently tweaked by Gilhance. Yeah, he's the hot guy now. I thought his redo at Erronomac was great. I thought it wasn't.

I kind of want to get into it, you know, on a bit more kind of break it down type level,

get kind of what was going through your head and all that, just because it's so fascinating to me, you know, even thinking about the fact that you could be somebody that could win on the PGA tour or beat the best players the world is just crazy to me. Kind of a weird week with the weather and all of that. Do you feel anything kind of different at the start of the week? I got it this week. What were the vibes going into Aronimo.

Well, you know, I've been playing really, really well this last couple months. And like I said, I didn't put together some weekends. But I got to Aronimic, and I love the course. And it's just in these FedEx Cup playoffs, the opportunity that you have every week is crazy with the amount of points. And you can, winning, yeah, it's incredible, but you can change your whole year by coming in fifth because of how many points they have.

And for us on the TGA tour, if you're not in the top 50 in the world, to make the tour championship is a duh thing to do because you get in all the majors and all the WGCs, and it's just the opportunity is there. I mean, it's so exciting these FedEx Cup playoffs. but I just felt good. I, you know, I was excited. You know, we're getting towards the end of the year.

You know, it just had a good vibe the whole week. So you go 66, 64, 66. You're in great shape. You know, you're right up there toward the top. Weather comes in as kind of what was the feeling Saturday afternoon when. I mean, a lot of people were thinking this might be a 54 hole finish. We might not play until Tuesday. Nobody really knew what the hell was.

going up. Yeah, so when I was out there in the third round, everyone's talking about this storm that's coming in, everyone's saying this is in 54 holes. So, you know, I'm going out. I'm coming down the last four or five holes

and my goal for the last two years is been to make the Tour championship. And I know this could be my last four holes of the tournament. And I need to finish, I think it was fifth or sixth, to make the Tour championship. ship. And Rose was way ahead of me at this point. He shot 29 on the front. And so I'm coming down the

stretch thinking, this is my opportunity to make the Tour Championship, get in all the majors. And I birdied 16, and then I made an incredible up and down in 17, and then I had like 15 feet for par on 18. And it was dark, and I was thinking this is, it was this part was either make it and get in the Tour championship or miss it and I'm out because I'm thinking it's 54 holes and I made it and I was so excited because I thought okay we've done it now I've made the tour championship and this is going to get canceled to 54 holes and you know that whole next day it's Sunday we're sitting around and and I'm so conflicted because here I am if they call it I'm in the tour championship but then again I'm only three shots back.

So, you know, it was the weirdest couple days I've probably ever had in terms of how I've felt going in. Because I'm thinking I'm okay if they call it because I'm happy with getting the Tour Championship. And then I'm feeling guilty about thinking that because I'm only three shots back, but it was wild. Yeah, I guess it's, I wish they did a better job of kind of showcasing, you know, what that means to guys to make the Tour championship and and I guess I'd love to hear you talk about it a bit I mean it affects being all the majors the big events it affects the whole way that you're able to plan like the next year and a half of your life basically yeah so for a guy like me when at the time I was outside the top 50 this is your this is your your ticket to get into the majors and the WGCs it's actually

it's pretty extreme that you're able to do this right a lot of it's kind of controversial with the guys on tour because you get a guy that plays great all you year and plays well bad in the playoffs he's out but you know so my goal i missed out last year by not a lot and so this year i you know i was there and i'm and i you know it's it's it was difficult because i'm in this position of they call it's just so so bizarre because i they call it my whole goal and now i can i go okay i'm in the masters i'm i'm i'm i'm i'm I'm in the U.S. Open, the British Open. I don't have to do these stupid 36-hole qualifiers.

I don't have to, I can't set my schedule. So, you know, and to have that kind of dangling over me, it was the, it just was brutal. It was, it really was. So then going into, you know, the final round, during that whole Sunday, which is a washout, I mean, what kind of, what kind of information do they give you? Do you guys get, like, different updates than we get? Yeah, so we get. We get text messages from the tour, and they did something that no one thought they were going to do.

They just updated us every hour. They said, at 6 o'clock in the morning, they said, due to heavy rains, we're going to, we can't start the first round until no earlier than night. And we're going to update you in an hour. And they did this all throughout the day. So I'm pacing around my hotel room getting these text messages. is trying to stay ready because if they go, even if it was at 4 o'clock, they could say, all right, guys, come out, we're going to play, we're going to play for two hours. So the whole day you've got to try to keep yourself ready to play, but, you know, you look outside,

it's pouring rain. You're like, we're not playing. Yeah, yeah, everyone is saying we're not playing, but you've got to try to stay mentally ready to go out there. And it turned out, you know, they called it, I think that's three. and then but then everyone was still saying it's supposed to rain even more tomorrow everyone no one thought we were going to play so then you guys end up playing Monday uh you know you come out you come out hot five birdies on the front nine uh you get yourself in the mix kind of uh at what point does it change for you from like all right kegan let's keep it going steadily let's get ourselves into the tour championship to like holy shit we're

going to win this thing yeah well What made it cool was the players that were up there. You know, I was in the second to last group. The group behind me was Rory, Rose, and Zander. And so with those three guys in the back there, I mean, they could go out and shoot any one of them could shoot 62, 63, and then I can't win. I mean, I'd have to shoot in the 50s.

And so at one point, you know, I'm going. down there and I looked at the leaderboard and I was at 18 under and then I was I was tied with Rose might have been Rory and then I saw Tiger was at 70 and you know that's so I'm looking at the leaderboard and I'm there now now I'm looking and I'm like I could I could win this tournament and and what made it cool was the guys that were up there you know it was it was tiger it was he had the red the red sweater on it's just it's just it's you're very aware of what's going on. I was playing so well.

It was when I made like a 30-footer on 8, a really tough part 3. And Tiger was the green is next to the 10th green. And that's when I saw Tiger was at 14. I made this put. And then I was like, all right, now I'm right there because no one behind me is going super low. So, so then, you know, kind of on the, on the back nine, you're, uh, you're buzzing your birdie, 14, 16. You come to 17th, tough par three. Talk me through 17 a little bit. Yeah, so I was so calm the whole day, the whole day. I was so calm, which is very strange for me.

I don't, I, I'm kind of a, I'm kind of a intense guy, but I was really calm. And then when I birdie 16, and I was like, holy cow, that's when it was like, this is my tournament, really, to win or lose now. And now, now it's been a long time since I've had that chance. I've been there, but not in the lead. I've been a couple shots back. I'm standing on 17T now with control, kind of. And I just hit the most incredible shot in the 16. 17 is probably my best shot of tournament.

and made the put. And that's when I started to really, it was surreal at that point because, you know, I, now I'm really in control. And, you know, the 18th hole I played so poorly. I was so bumped out. I just hit bad shots. And I thought it was over.

I really did. Yeah, the T shot on 18, I got to be honest, I thought that the, I think the top tracer might have done you dirty. Because when you hit that thing, I gasped. I mean, they made it look like that thing was going into, like, New York, basically. Yeah, it was bad. It was really bad. I had been driving the ball.

I don't think I had missed, like, one fairway in two days. And I just, I just hit a bad shot. It was awful. And I got up there, and I was okay. But I had mud all over my ball, and I hit my asses. I did a decent eye shot, and the mud just shot it way right. and but it was it was bad it was it was I was so bummed out just at the how well I had played and how poorly I had played that hole it was it was tough yeah it's funny like John I'm pretty

sure Johnny Miller was like oh he's got the great live balls sitting perfectly nothing on the ball I was like I don't I mean I don't think that's correct yeah I mean it was so wet too and just it's amazing what mud does to the golf ball but I still had I think I had 2 10 adjusted hole into the win. It was playing 225. I mean, it wasn't, that whole, the hole was brutal. So, so then, you know, you bogey 18, what's that,

what's kind of that weird, long weight like when you were, I think you were over on the putting green while Justin Rose is finishing up? Yeah, it was, I just, it's funny when you're on the other side of that, on my side, you think there's no way

he's going to boge 18, it's over. And so I'm, I can't, can't see what's going on. I'm trying to ask the TV guy who's filming me, like, because he can see what's going on in here. I'm like, what's going on? He said, oh, he hit it short of the green, and then I'm thinking he's going to chip this to a foot and make it. Justin Rose is, you know, obviously he's number one player in the world now, but, uh, so then I'm, I'm waiting, you just, I can't see anything so you're just listening to the crowd. So we heard a put hit and missed, and we all thought that was Justin. So I'm like getting, I'm like, okay,

we're getting ready to go for playoff and then the guy goes that wasn't Justin it was Xander or somebody and I'm like oh shit and so then we're like all right here we go we're just it's got really quiet so we're just kind of looking at each other you're just waiting you're either you know you're going to hear a big cheer or or what we heard and he he hit such a great pot I it's I hadn't seen the pot until recently you hit the most incredible put that didn't go in yeah he really did I thought that thing was in but then you know you go to a playoff what uh you hit any balls or anything you just kind of roll out there and feeling no because i i had finished five 10 minutes prior and uh you know i they wanted us to do this like walk out together through the i don't know i was weird

and i was like oh i'm just going to go they they wanted us to like walk out together and make it a i don't know it was hard to think to understand but i walked out of the tunnel you walked through the tunnel back on the 18th green and everyone was was really cheering at this point. They're saying USA. They're doing the whole thing. I just kept telling myself, I've finally gotten myself back to where I feel like I belong. And I just tried to enjoy the moment of feeling like I'm back to maybe this more of an elite level of the tour.

And I just kept telling myself, this is where I belong. This is where I've, this is why I've worked so hard to get back to this exact moment. and I just wanted to not let this moment get too big for me because I've been in these moments before and I wanted to I just wanted to really enjoy it to be honest. Yeah, I mean you've played under about as intense of pressure as it gets in terms of winning a major championship, kind of dominating during stretches in the Ryder Cup even. So you had to feel a little bit confident being like I can handle this, I got this. I did.

I felt good. I was really, really nervous, too. I mean, it was, there's so much at stake to win a tournament on the tour. Like, there's so much to go, especially in the FedEx Cup playoffs. And you get 2,000 points of you, you get, it's equivalent to four wins on the regular season. So I, and then you get two-year exemption. You're in, you're in, you know, you're, I end up winning, obviously, and went to 30th in the world. I mean, there's so much at stake.

so you know all that stuff's in your mind for for a guy like justin rose he's been winning stuff may not pop into his mind as much as it would be for me and uh but i i just i felt i just kept telling myself i'm i belong here i should you know i'm there's no difference from anybody else i should i should uh i should feel good about being here in this playoff so you played great you get the win in the playoff uh how special was it to have your son Logan and your wife Jillian out there afterwards.

That was the coolest part. I mean, we, as tour players, you dream of that moment when your family runs out on the green. You know, I told Jill, I go, players go, a huge majority of the tour go their whole career without getting to experience that, whether they don't win or, you know, a lot of times they'll be at the turn of it by ourselves. And, you know, I had to keep, I could, I could see them. So I had to keep looking away because it was giving me emotional, and I was thinking, man, if I win this, where I'm going to get to do this with them.

And when Jeff didn't miss that pot, I was shocked, but I had to move my coin back. And I was so, I probably shouldn't even admit this, I was so nervous over that pot. I was like shaking. I was literally shaking. It was a foot. I think we looked at back up. It was 17 inches. but, you know, I was really shaking.

Like, I don't, I don't, I don't, the same thing happened to me when I won the PGA. I don't even remember, like, hitting the put. Like, I just was blacked out. But it was, it was incredible. They ran out. You know, we're, all my other wins, I've been by myself. I haven't, you know, I, then later that night, we're hanging out in the hotel room. And we're just like, we're laughing.

And we get back to the hotel room after all the ceremony and all the ceremony and all stuff and when you win a tournament you've got to go and you've got to sign a thousand things and i get home and the replay from the gulch channel is on and i'm on like 16 so i've never been able to do this too we sat down and watched the whole thing happen again that was pretty cool that's so cool i've always wondered if you guys do that if you watch yourselves a little bit i don't normally but i don't know i i i but when i was on 18 i i couldn't the original 18 i go i can't watch this this is going to break that episode i didn't watch that part That's smart. Selective. You're selectively watching.

I was like, wait a second, what could this be? Maybe I, you know, but I never, I wasn't on their radar, and I really shouldn't have been from how well the other guys played.

But he did call me, and, you know, he, he wanted to talk to me before the announcement was official, and Jim's just, I love the guy. I really appreciated him calling me. Did you have any conversation with, you know, with Phil at all leading up to the Ryder Cup stuff, just because you guys have been such a phenomenal duo over the years or, you know, in 2012? He's always in my year. I'm always, we're always, you know, he was going to be on this team.

He could have not made a cut this year. He would have made it been on that team. We have to have him on the Ryder Cup teams. He's the guy. He's our unofficial player captain every year. And every so often he'd give me a little pep talk, like we've got to do it. We've got to. And he'd be like, I'm running out of time.

time i'm getting older but uh yeah we we always i'm hoping you know we he's gonna be on these teams i i wouldn't be surprised if he plays on these teams into his mid-50s i mean he's he's not slowing down at all so maybe we'll get another chance yeah he's got that long swing too kind of that freddie couples you know those swings kind of last the test of time i feel like yeah well when you when you have a short when you have a short game like he does you can you can play who knows he'll he'll be contending at the Masters forever. I mean, he'll always contend there. I know.

It almost doesn't even matter where that guy hits the golf ball. It's just not. No, it doesn't. So you're obviously, you know, you're a USA guy. I imagine you'll be watching. You'll be rooting for the U.S. Ryder Cup team. If you could give, you know, those guys, one piece of advice as someone that's been in there before,

what would that be? I mean, I always try to tell the rookies, I just, I try to be like, listen, you're not going to feel ready for this. you're there. Like you're, you're no, nothing you're going to do, you can win majors, you can win tournaments. There's nothing that's going to prepare you for how bad you're going to feel on that first day of the Rider Cup, how nervous you're going to be. And I think if you just accept that and know that that's how it's going to be, it can be helpful. But these guys that were picked, I mean,

they're going to be on the team, even the rookies. Like, technically, I think Justin Thomas is a rookie, but he's not a rookie by any means. So I think it's going to, I'll be pulling for the U.S. I mean, obviously I told Jim that. I hope they win. So we, I got to ask you, our buddy, our mutual buddy, and he's a really good friend of yours, Mikey Ballo. He was on our show several months ago now,

and he talked about this elaborate prank that was played upon him. How much were you involved in this prank with our buddy, Mike? Oh, man. There were so many layers of this, and we got high-end executives from the PGA Taur involved in this, and we made him, he said something about a tournament, and we just decided we were going to really get him. We made him, we had guys that were just under the commissioner write letters,

and, you know, we took us months to figure this out, to the point where we got him to make this video of an apology, video and it was it was incredible it was all worth it he's pretty easy he's not the smartest he's not the smartest guy in the world yeah he uh i've seen uh a couple of these apology videos because you guys got him so badly and for anybody doesn't know quick refresher you know he was caddian for uh your pal jane for a while this year he made whatever the comments were about some tournament so you guys convinced him the pgator was all pissed off and they were kind of like ban him so you guys are like you have to you know you need to do this a

apology thing and he got so intense on the apology video that I mean I saw like five attempts and then he'd be like did I do that right what do you guys think is that like too sad it looked like he was going to cry in the video he was so upset I love it I love everything about it we have like a we have like a screenshot from that video that we know our group text that every now and then we just send it looks like a it looks like a mug shot from like a late night out or something it's really good he looks so sad it's incredible I don't know like how sad he looks. Yeah, I know.

It was, I mean, it was two, three months of us just dropping subtle hints or having, you know, just a little letter and email here or, you know, one of the guys were at the tour, official come and say something to him. And it just, it worked out perfect. So, you know, football season's back. You're a big Pats guy. You've spent some time with Tom Brady. How we feel about the Pats this year? I mean, I always feel like they're going to be good. At some point, at one of these years, they're not going to be.

But I don't know. I think as long as Belichick and Brady and Robert Kraft are involved, I don't see. I just feel like they're going to be in the AFC championship game and probably in the Super Bowl. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. I'm always blinded by these guys. But they seem to every year, you're like, oh, they lose all their best players. and then all of a sudden they're 9 and 1 after the first 10 games.

It's pretty incredible. You play any golf with TB12 this offseason? I didn't. I have in the past, but I didn't get to play with him this year. But he's a really good player. I mean, he's a legitimate kind of like scratch, three to four handicap. What kind of competitor is he on the course? He's as intense as he is on the football field?

Yeah, he was crazy. He was like, we were playing a match, and he beat me. I was giving him 12 shots or something ridiculous. And he shot like even par, you know, I couldn't beat him. After every hole, he would announce how many up he was, and then I'd press him, and then he'd announce that. And he'd miss a pot. He'd go crazy. You know, he's just a wicked, intense guy.

But he loves golf. It's so fun to see these athletes that love golf. That's awesome. Well, yeah, I've seen, you know, we've seen some picks of you out there with MJ and TB12 playing basketball, playing golf. So I imagine you guys get pretty competitive. That's pretty competitive, pretty intense group. Yeah, it's so weird when you're in a situation where you're with your idols, your childhood heroes, and they're your friends. I mean, you're sitting around, you know, like you would with your buddies.

And every down and that it hits you, and you're like, I can't believe. How did this happen? These are my, I mean, Brady and MJ are them. my all-time, you know, boyhood idols. And so to be able to, you know, hang out with them, calling friends, and especially in case with MJ, it's pretty incredible. It's probably interesting you're, like, trying to beat him in golf, but you're also like, I love you, man.

Yeah, well, we don't, we're playing against each other at golf. We want to beat each other so bad. It doesn't get to that point. That's awesome. Well, Kegan, it's been an awesome year. We're pumped. We're pulling for you to win at the BMW. you got it done and next up tour championship my man yeah baby let's do it well deserved we always
