And we ended up doing 45 on God knows what. And the stealth two is in there. So you're getting all kinds of good tidbits about the stealth two, about the kingdom, about Taylor Made in general, that whole experience.
Starting point is 00:01:24 You're going to get Trotty, who's one of our favorites. He's fucking hilarious. And you get all of us together a little bit. bit of a mishmosh of a crew. We talk about all kinds of stuff, so you're going to love that. We got a bunch of administrative stuff, but we're going to begin with breaking news. As Frankie said, we should put in and make sure it's incredibly, incredibly highlighted, important, huge. Wow. Emphasized, I guess you should say. If you're, if you're doing a writing class, you would put emphasis upon this. You would structure your sentence in a way where the emphasis is laid upon this part of the show because the Barstool Classic is now.

Starting point is 00:03:23 these states that we're going to just so people know when they can get nothing more than we're starting this thing off so obviously tomorrow is when you have to be signing up. And if you're a veteran in the sign-up game, you would know that you're going to listen to these locations, you're going to look on the website, you're going to see where are my top three choices? Maybe I live in South Carolina and I have multiple places to go to. Maybe I live in Georgia and I have multiple locations to travel to, Florida, North Carolina,
Starting point is 00:03:49 all these places. It is a tough weekend for Georgia. It is a tough weekend for Georgia. But I'm saying right now, I'm going to rattle off this list. and just like keep it in your mind over the next 24 hours talk with your buddies figure it out because I hate that we always get these messages like oh you didn't come to my city oh how the hell is this state not on the list it's like well there's 50 states there's 50 states and we can't go to every single one of them there's only 52 weeks in the year we've got all these things going on we already have 25 set I'm sure more will be added like they always are every year but here's what I'm saying to you right now is like we're going to 25 different of them so you can't complain You can just go to that state that we're going to.
Starting point is 00:04:30 So here's the list. Here's the list. We're starting Mark 6, which is like next week. I mean, it's like right around the corner. It's fucking insane that we're already starting the fucking Barsoe Classic. March 6, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Wow. Is that a good fucking golf course to start on?
Starting point is 00:04:45 Fantastic. We're talking True Blue Golf Club. Mike Strance, we're talking Tobacco Road-esque in South Carolina. It's one of the coolest courses we've played down there. That place is phenomenal. They've got all the crocodiles that. can fucking ask for it's an amazing spot then we go to florida azario lakewood ranch golf course then we go to louisiana at la burs which also has the um obviously the pen casino
Starting point is 00:05:10 and the property there it's an amazing spot rigs fantastic time also they've got that seafood restaurant there where we had last year with mincy king of the south we had uh uh god they were like they were like fried something that it was such fantastic food. I think it was fried oysters. We were crushing fried oysters overlooking the water there in Lake Charles. And it was their boats coming by sunset. People were out on the pier. You walk five feet.
Starting point is 00:05:43 You're at the Barstall Sportsbook. You go back. You get some more fried oysters. Mincey's just like salivating in your ear talking about them. It's a great seat down there. You're going to love it. So then we're going into April. Now we've got April 25.
Starting point is 00:05:56 4th, Arizona. It's a two-day event at Mesa Country Club, day one and day two. If you're in the Arizona area, you're obviously going to need to sign up at 12 o'clock tomorrow because that's going to sell out in a heartbeat. Mesa is an incredible, wow, Mesa is an incredible golf course that, that place fucking sells out within a blink of an eye. That's where we play Joel Damon, if you want to get a look at it. San Diego, a Wales vagina, is on April 27th.
Starting point is 00:06:21 That's at Madaris Golf Club. I fell in love with this place when we went last year. We played with Nate shot there. The course is phenomenal. The undulations, the elevations, the places is insane. There's all these NBA players. Oh, all these NBA players have all these houses. This past week.
Starting point is 00:06:38 It was showing off with the weather. They have all these houses on the golf course. You're looking at all these famous people who have properties at Madeira. It's an incredible place. Then we go to Palm Springs. PGA West. Ever heard of it? Never been there.
Starting point is 00:06:52 And I heard that Palm Springs is very, Scottsdale-esque. That's sort of what everybody tells me. The courses are stunning. PGA West. They just played there a week ago, the Amex. I'm an Amex holder, even though it still didn't get me into the fucking Delta Skylounge we can talk about.
Starting point is 00:07:06 But a fantastic spot. Can't wait to go there and check it out. I'm going to drive there. Then we're going up to San Francisco at Half Moon Bay. One of the craziest properties in all of America. I mean, when you talk about Pebble Beach, I honestly think that the property at Half Moon Bay is like just as insane. Like the fact that the golf course is on.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Half Moon Bay is an incredible tournament golf course. I actually caddied in PGA Tour Q school there, second stage, and the guy I was counting for one tournament. That place is awesome. Well, that's even more reason to go play in the golf tournament, because you caddied there once. Half Moon Bay, I will say, half Moon Bay, it's like the Ritz right on the ocean there. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:07:43 The ocean course and the other one, it's fantastic. Niceest hotel we've ever seen in. It's stunning overlooking the ocean and the whole thing. I will say, like, we can't not. Half Moon Bay had a, mass shooting last week. So I feel like we can't not mention that right now. It would be incredibly insensitive not to mention that.
Starting point is 00:08:01 So obviously, you know, thinking thoughts and prayers, a lot of horrible stuff going on in the country. So I think it'd just be crazy if we said half Moon Bay and didn't mention that that occurred. And that's awful. So hopefully when we're there, you know, we can do something for the community, try to raise some money. I know that people come together when those things happen and occur. And hopefully we can be a part of that.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And we bring kind of the highlight of the Barso Classic and a lot of attention to the area. where Steph Curry played last year. I don't know what their playoff situation is. Maybe he'll show up again this year. But yeah, I mean, you just can't mention half moon bay and not think about that right now. So obviously thoughts and prayers, they're getting everybody up there. Just horrific stuff going on.
Starting point is 00:08:37 We go on to St. Louis. This is Riggs's hometown. We're in Bogie Hills Country Club. Talk to us about Bogie Hills a little bit. Bogie Hills Country Club is in my hometown, not just my home like a roughly metropolitan area. Bogie Hills Country Club is where all my best. best buddies belong to. Whenever I go home, we go out there and play all the time. We carry our bags. They got a, uh, they had an unfortunate fire at their clubhouse, like five or six years ago and
Starting point is 00:09:02 built a brand new clubhouse. So it's a really, really cool scene. Quirky little golf course, tricked out, but the, um, but the greens are phenomenal. They're small, sloping, very fast. Uh, and it's legitimately across the highway, maybe a four minute drive from my child at home. So, uh, so yeah, I'm bringing it to like the closest to home country club. Uh, and that I could possibly bring it to. So I'm very excited about Bogey Hills. Electric vehicles, everywhere you look, everywhere you look, people were trying to get into the EV game.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Okay, they're understanding that we're trying to live in the future. We're not trying to live in the past. I'm seeing these little chargers all over the place, and our very good friends at Chevy got over 2,000 certified EV dealerships. They got the electric chargers popping up all over this great country public. Okay, a growing network is what we're calling a growing network of public charging stations. Chevy is here to help you live electric. Think about all those different brands,
Starting point is 00:10:05 the line of Chevroletes that you've come to know and love the iconic commercials over the years. Silverado driving over the rocks with the bow tie logo on the front of the grill. Now we're just moving that into EVs and therefore everyone everywhere. You don't have to be some rich person fellas to buy a Chevy EV. Riggs, am I seeing it's your birthday today? That's my birthday today. Wow. What?
Starting point is 00:10:28 Happy birthday. I just saw this on Instagram because I saw that your birthday cucked. And I remember now that you are birthday cucked by Big Cat. Because I've seen a lot of Big Cat tweets today. And I'm like, oh, it's just Big Cat's birthday. And then I saw that we actually posted Happy Birthday Big Cat and Rings. And that just made me know that now it's your birthday. I get a lot of like, it's not as bad now. But when we would all be in the office, I would get a lot of like, fuck you, Riggs, happy birthday, Big Cat tweets. I mean, that's a, what a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday. and talk while talking about Chevrolet. I mean, that for me is a fantastic way to pair the two things there. I mean, maybe one day for your birthday, you'll get a Chevy. I know,
Starting point is 00:11:09 and I got, I just minded me. I got this incredible, I really like that. These head covers that we gave away, because Chevy came into the Barstow Classic in a big way, which it's obviously a Barstow class at the time, but this Chevy head cover,
Starting point is 00:11:20 I love that logo with the EV Chevy. So, yeah, I mean, look, if you don't know Chevy at this point, then you're, yeah, you just don't know anything. You don't know anything on planet Earth.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Now imagine that great company with all that great history. Getting into the EV games, that's what's happening. So big shout to Chevy EVs for everyone everywhere. Go to the website. Okay, go to Chevrolet's website, Chevrolet.com, and go build out. You can pre-order Blazers, Silveradoes. You can order right now the old EUV and EV. So go do that now.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Go play around on their website. It's incredibly fun. Get yourself an EV. You're going to help everyone. You're going to help yourself. You're not going to spend money in all. this guy not going to be a beholden to gas prices go nope you're just charging stations all over Chevy EVs for everyone everywhere. May 22nd we've got breaking news first time ever in this state
Starting point is 00:12:17 it's a it's a breaking news location Trent where are we going on May 22nd for the barstool classic you're going to think bind that is where it's it's on the university of Iowa campus it's where the university of Iowa golf team plays and practices wow I played there a couple of times, you know, as a younger man, it's a great golf course. And I'm very, very excited that we're going to Iowa. And so is everyone that I've ever known and played golf with in Iowa. Just at, so as soon as back to back homecomings back to back. Yeah, that's right. San Luis and then Iowa. So when we announced, we did the announcement video down in Orlando, and we said that we're going to think by and everyone back home was like, holy fuck. I mean,
Starting point is 00:12:58 it's got to be the biggest news in Iowa all week, right? Well, it's up there. Yeah. You know, I wonder how the corn is coming in, but Why 2K, probably? Well, it's, you know, Anders Lee bought a farm and then this we were going to think fine. We didn't talk about that. Anders Lee did buy a farm. Did we talk about that on the year?
Starting point is 00:13:15 We talked a lot about that. Oh, yeah. I thought we talked about that. I thought we talked about that. I think we did a whole show on it. I think it might have been the whole show. So we go from St. Louis to Iowa. Then we go to Minnesota,
Starting point is 00:13:24 Medina Golf and Country Club. We played there with all the hockey guys last year. It's a phenomenal place. The food there is outrageous. So if you're in the Minnesota area, you know that. obviously all these hockey guys will be there. It's in June, so they're going to be able to make it.
Starting point is 00:13:37 And it's a fun spot. We go from St. Louis to Iowa to Minnesota. Then we go to Wisconsin. We're hitting all these states. June 5th, Wisconsin. Lock LaBelle. Oh, my gosh, a great place. So 15 minutes or so from Aaron Hills.
Starting point is 00:13:52 These guys hit me up. Actually, JJ Watt, of all people. Congrats to him on his retirement, amazing career. J.J. Watt, of all people. Unfortunately, he joined the Bob does sports team and defeated us in a scramble. which I, which still just raffles me to this day. But the whole point of this came to play with us, but then beat us. We're not here to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:14:09 We're here to talk about is JJ Watt actually set me up, uh, with a tea time at La C La Cable a year or so, a couple years ago maybe, uh, and was like, dude, I really love this place. I want you to get out and see it. These guys have done a full revamp. They got this putting course out there where you can use old school like hickory putters, uh, and do a 18 whole putting course. Awesome greens.
Starting point is 00:14:32 awesome golf course, very different than Aaron Hills. Yet, like I said, 15 minutes away from it. We're going to have a fantastic time at Lock LaBelle. I'm very pumped to get out there. I love Wisconsin golf. It's probably in my top five states for golf. Every time I go up there, I have a blast from Aaron Hills, Sand Valley, Whistling Straits, Lock LaBelle.
Starting point is 00:14:50 There's a couple more up there. Lasonia Links, which I've never played and a lot more that are supposed to be fantastic. So Lock Label, Wisconsin, going to be a great time. Chicago, two-day event, the Glenn Club. June 19th, June 20th. Whenever we have two days events, you know that they've sold out so fast and with such aggression that we had to add another day
Starting point is 00:15:11 into the next year. Chicago has always sold out two events, two days. So we have all the Barstall guys there. We're going to have a lot of talent from Barstool there. It's going to be a lot of fun. The Glenn Club, June 19th, June 20th. Then we go into a nut. Stunning 18th hole.
Starting point is 00:15:24 You've got to hit par five over the water. It's fantastic. Yeah, I played there too. That's where Northwestern golf practices. Oh, really? Okay. Yeah, we got the Iowa campus course and the Northwestern. Then we go into another two-day event right after that, June 22nd, June 23rd, Nashville at the Hermitage Golf Course, the President's Reserve.
Starting point is 00:15:44 That's going to be, of course, another big one. We've got all of our musicians and our comedians. It's always star-studded. We had Jake Owen play last year. We had Jake Owen play last year. It's a fun time. Nashville obviously is the best place to have a two-day event because it's so much fun to go out and drinking there. We go straight.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Actually, we have a little bit of a time off in an early. July we go we wait until July 31st we're in Ohio is that our first Ohio um location we did uh we I think we did Ohio a couple years ago we went to Springfield which is a Donald Ross track we went to spring when where they do the US Open Qualifier all the time but uh we're going to Columbus I think this year right Columbus country club July 31st in Ohio that should be fun Ohio's got when we see all the stats and all the data behind everything that is bar still you see that Ohio is a ridiculous hotbed for Barstall fans. It's nuts. Columbus is like, for whatever reason, it's, yeah, it's like a petri dish of everything that's good for Barstool's
Starting point is 00:16:41 demographic. It's like we hone in on that. There's like a hot spot right there that's, Columbus is supposed to be perfect for Barstool and our fans and everything else. So I'm excited to get to Columbus. I don't think I've ever really been to Columbus. It's a great college town. What's, yeah, I've been to Columbus. It's great. What is with Ohio and like the fact that you get so much like diversity and like all these decisions are being made in Ohio with politics and then like we see that like there's a lot of like big fans in there like Ohio seems to be like this ridiculous place where just everyone has all these opinions and you don't know which way they sway it's I could be wrong but I think this could be really wrong so we can fact check it but I think the most U.S. presidents have come from Ohio.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Yeah, what's going on in Ohio? It's also a place where all these big brands like test new products. I guess it's just like the American city that is the most I don't want to say average. but it seems like it's kind of in the middle of the road with a lot of different. I do know, Trent, that the most U.S. presidents have gone to Harvard. I know that. Okay. But I'm not sure on which state they're from.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I'm not positive on that. From Ohio, you can look that up, Trent. From Ohio, we go to Michigan at the bear golf course at Grand Traverse Resort. That's exciting. Michigan is obviously a huge place for us to go to. When we went there for the travel series, we never saw so much responses. then when we played Forest Dunes. That place is incredible.
Starting point is 00:18:04 And I'm excited to see Grand Traverse. Is it Traverse or Traverse? Well, I would say since it's Traverse City, it's probably Grand. That's my guess, but I'm not a fanatic expert. Grand Traverse Resort. We actually played this golf course. When we did the Forest Dunes, we got there a day early and played at Grand Travers or Traverse. It's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:18:24 It's a really cool. It's a Nicholas course. It's tough. Northern Michigan, you're right. sneaky some of the best golf pure Michigan as Carl likes to say but but yeah summertime in northern Michigan I don't know if it gets much nicer we're probably going to have a little a little evening on one of the lake restaurants because traffic city right there on the lake is as nice as it gets so I've got this I've got this president statistic so Ohio seven presidents are there
Starting point is 00:18:52 it's the second most all time second most anybody want to guess what has Massachusetts the state of the most presidents New York I'm going to say, I say Massachusetts. Virginia. It is Virginia. Nice. Well, well done, my friend.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Jefferson. Jefferson. And probably some others. And then like six more probably. All right. What's next? I know Hamilton was never a president. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:19:22 From Michigan, we go up north to Toronto, which I am going to have breaking news. I'm going to sing. I'm going to sing the Canadian. national anthem here. So if that's not enough to buy your ticket, I think I actually may sing the national anthem at all the stops I go to. I think I'm just going to start grabbing the mic.
Starting point is 00:19:39 I feel like we put a lot of pressure on like someone in the crowd to sing it. And I'm just going to fucking sing the national anthem. Why not? I can get through the national anthem. It doesn't have to be, it doesn't have to be like the greatest song of all time, the great, the greatest song of all time.
Starting point is 00:19:51 I think I can do it. I do think like in an NHL game, if there's a Canadian team participating, you have to sing both. So you have to, if there's a Canadian participating in a classic, no matter where it may be held, what soil it may be held upon, I think that you have to sing. Oh, wow. Okay, I'll do that.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Oh, Canada is actually more in my range. The Star-style banner gets way up there towards the end. No matter what key, you kind of sing it in, you always have to reach this upper echelon. Where did this voice confidence come from? When you had to do like a one song for pop punk, you were very nervous. I get nervous, but you know, I've been singing a lot more national anthems in my, in my, in my shower. I don't know what it is,
Starting point is 00:20:31 but that's my go-to shower song. I'll sing the Star Spangled Banner. And I was like, you're not going to be as good in the, without the shower. Yeah, that's true. So maybe I'll have sod just like,
Starting point is 00:20:41 like, like, I'll have him like drizzle water on my head as I do it. That could be your thing. Which is good. You know, you get one of those like the plant waters and you just, I can just drizzle me and I'll just feel it on my face and I'll say,
Starting point is 00:20:53 I actually think. I actually think for opening day in Myrtle Beach, I may just get drizzled on my head as I say. Yeah. I'll say it's because I'll say it's because I'm, drizzle it on your face. Perfect. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:21:01 So we're going from Michigan to Toronto. Sorry. I actually got this Brian Trachier jersey handed to me in fucking Toronto because obviously the nicest people of all time in Canada.
Starting point is 00:21:15 This guy came up to me. He's like I have this signed, personalized four cups Hall of Fame signature Brian Trotchea jersey and I've been waiting to give it to you. I won it like four years ago and I've been waiting for the moment
Starting point is 00:21:27 that you guys would come up north and you can give it to me. So I've got that hanging behind me. We're going back to Toronto. I can't say to Toronto ever. It just keeps like just kind of not coming out. Um, they get them from Toronto to you too. Unfortunately, I just, it's just says rigs on the back. So I can never wear it. That's great. That's right. From Dwight. Michigan to Toronto to Boston. We're just hitting these incredible places. Boston is that TBC Boston. Is that what I'm seeing? Is that locked in? Yeah. TBC Boston. Gilhans did a redo there. Wow. Beautiful golf course. Obviously hosted.
Starting point is 00:21:59 uh the what was it the barclays what it or no yeah it was where dj thought shot like 31 under i think tiger woods has won there before i'm just trying to remember what they because they did the couple jumbling the northern trust northern trust that's northern trust it was always there that's right that's where paul casey uh boom roasted me uh my first year at bar sword i was wearing USA head to toe and he walked by me i had like the sunglasses on i had a USA hat i had a USA shirt the whole deal and he walked by me. It's like, where are you from, mate? And I was like, oh, I'm from like St. Louis. And he just shook, shook his head and was like, what a fucking idiot. So from Boston to Long Island, New York, August 21st, Colonial Springs Golf Club. Let me tell you something about Long Island. Long Island, I think pound for pound has the best golf in the country. I just think like in a miles radius, I think if you go from Deepdale, which is closest to the city all the way out to the Hamptons, you're not going to find a better private golf club experience in Long Island. It's insane. The fact that we are going to, what I call a diamond in the rough course,
Starting point is 00:23:01 which a lot of people in Long Island, on Long Island have not experienced. Colonial Springs Golf Club has, is obviously our home course. We've talked about it a lot. Trent and I go there. We practice there. We play there.
Starting point is 00:23:11 They have 27 holes. We're going to be playing the best combination that you can get. The course is in mint condition. They're super there is incredible. He came from Bethpage. He came from all these really, really high status golf clubs. And he is made.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Can we play the black this summer? Can we get out and play the black this summer? Yeah, dude. I played last year and it was like the greatest day ever. Played with this guy who told me to call him soupy and this other dude owns this like Panamanian restaurant in the city and we just had the greatest fucking time of all time. It was the best. Yeah, no, dude, Colonial's going to be great. Everyone that goes there and leaves there is going to be like, I've never heard of this
Starting point is 00:23:46 place, but I need to like get information on how to belong here. It's that cool of a place. The hang is insane. Fire pits around a pond. It's nuts. The whole entire place is beautiful. I can't wait to go to Colonial. Whoever's on Long Island is going to live it.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Fire pits are in. Fire pits. Oh, dude. They redid this whole entire outdoor area of colonial. And it's just, you can't believe it's a real place. It's an oasis. It's an oasis. August 28th, Connecticut, Woodway Country Club.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I'm sure we'll be having our guys. That place had the best spread I've ever seen in my life. I was there. I was there. Yeah, that was great. Fuck. Joey La Cava and his boys will probably be playing in there too because they like out of the way.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Steve Wilco. Steve Wilco to play on that. Steve Wilco. Oh, yeah. That's right. Old school golf. golf course, tons of history right in the heart of Connecticut, which is obviously old, old, like, Colony, the USA.
Starting point is 00:24:37 It's a fantastic spot. And it's with the topography, New England, the whole deal. People are going to love Woodway if they don't already. A lot of members play in that one. But I highly recommend if you're from New England area, you're not sure which one to play in up there. I would really consider the Connecticut stop because the spread, it's a really pretty ritzie, like, country club that somehow they love us there.
Starting point is 00:24:57 That's where they gave us the, remember the deadhead woodway hats that they had? The guy, the pro there is a beauty in the pro shop. And it was maybe a member of him or somebody ordered a bunch of like grateful dead, you know, hats. But there was a dead logo had the woodway like tree in the middle of it.
Starting point is 00:25:17 It was fucking awesome. So great spot, Woodway. And we're finishing off strong here, boys. We're going Philly, West Virginia, North Carolina.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Philly. We're going to Bluebell Country Club. obviously Philadelphia is a hot bed it's going to sell out within second so make sure that you're locked in Philadelphia is a fun place to go to then West Virginia September 18th Holy shit
Starting point is 00:25:37 we're going to the Greenbrier which I think is probably the craziest on this whole list it's a course that you always hear of you see the resort on the commercials it's massive they have the tournament there everything about it feels like the Barso Classic can't go there but the Greenbriar is on the list went from PGA tour venue to live golf venue and it's also a barstole classic venue.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Hell is. This is a place that likes to be a venue. So obviously they got a casino there. It's old school, right? Just an old school spot. Been there forever. Greenbrier like falconry they do there. We'll probably shoot some shit with like guns and it.
Starting point is 00:26:14 It's going to be a good time. So Greenbrier, I'm very excited to see. I've never been there. They got a beer. It's there. They got all kinds of kind of. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:21 One of the oldest, one of the oldest golf courses in the world, 1914 designed by C.B. McDonald, which is obviously old McDonald is a tribute to him so it's a lot of template. Old McDonald had a farm. So that's a hell of a deal. Did even McDonald have a farm?
Starting point is 00:26:35 I don't know. Maybe. A lot of people back didn't have farms, right? We finish off the Barstow Classic, September 22nd, North Carolina, the Palisades Country Club. I just, you know, at the end of the day, this list, man, it's a, it's a really, really good list of golf clubs. I mean, you see these, the green briars.
Starting point is 00:26:53 You see TPC Boston. you see Half Moon Bay, you see PGA West. It's just somehow, some way, Fink Fine, somehow some way we keep progressing this thing to getting more impressive golf courses, more impressive names, more places that you can't believe we're going to. So tomorrow, I mean, think about how many places I just rattled off. It took me like 10 minutes to get through this list. That's how big this thing's gotten, 25 events just off the rip. Holy shit, man. It's going to be great.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I believe too. I'm going to go through a couple more details. Big shot to truly hard sell. This will be year five. They got real vodka in there now. Their new ones are off the charts. We tried them for the first time of the championship last year. But Truly came in blind.
Starting point is 00:27:33 They hadn't sponsored anything at Barstle Sports before. The Barstle Classic had never commenced. Not a single event had been run. And they came in in a big way to be the title sponsor in 2019. They've re-uped every year, including this one. So giant, giant thanks to Truly. They're great. I got my buddies all in on the Truly.
Starting point is 00:27:51 That's what we drink when we hang. It's where we're going to be drinking this week. weekend doing a little golf trip down to Pioneers. Truly is all over the place. So big thanks to Truly. I believe we're doing the championship back at Greyhawk. It went so well this last year. I know Frankie and Trent, you guys had seen it on the internet.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And then you arrived in real time. We're like, holy shit, I can't believe this scene by the 18th hole. The finale, everything went so well. So we're still finalizing, as you can imagine, kind of we got a debrief after something like that, talk to marketing, talk to our events, teams, talk to our everybody and just kind of figure out what we want to do. we're targeting December 4th, 5th-ish area. So probably early December, probably at Greyhawk.
Starting point is 00:28:27 That's not locked in, but just so people have a general sense if they're going to sign up and they want to advance what it would look like and when that might be, it's most likely going to be Greyhawk, Arizona, early December of this year. We're going to do a team effort this year on the Classic. So I've been to about 80 classics. The only one I ever missed was this year when my flights were canceled. Shocking Connor and Lisa, Captain Connor, took over the whole deal at Whiskey. Creek, which I love. I missed my guy Scott there, who's great. But that's the only one I ever missed. This year, I'm probably going to go to about 10 of them. Frankie, Trent, myself, Dan,
Starting point is 00:29:01 at least one of us will be at every stop and other Barstville talent as well. But we just got a lot of stuff going on. So I'm not going to be at everyone. I don't think that's going to matter. Frankie's going to be singing national anthems, anthems, Trent's bringing it back to his hometown. So there's a lot of shit going on, which is all great. But barstfulclassic.com, make sure you're ready. Wednesday at noon, Eastern time, gear up, have all your information, and be ready to rock. And I will say,
Starting point is 00:29:30 the classic has only gotten better and better every single year. There's no reason not to believe that it's going to be even better this year. Yeah, they're always adding to the experience. It's legitimately the best round of golf you'll play all year, regardless of how you actually play. It's so much fun, but there's also so much competition to it.
Starting point is 00:29:46 You have a chance to go play in a championship. You have a chance to advance and to, the next level of this tournament. That's the biggest difference between anything else you could possibly play in all year. You're playing all your local club events and all these things. You get to go to like Arizona, get on a flight, make a vacation out of it. You play multiple events. You play practice rounds.
Starting point is 00:30:04 You're going there. You're playing multiple courses for all this one price. It's insane. If you are a good player, you can advance. That's what the biggest thing for me is. Like everyone, you lose that edge once you're out of high school or college. And now you get to have that again. And a bunch of our other partners that come in, Peter Mouar, G,
Starting point is 00:30:20 G4 Taylor Made. They come in with gift cards with prizes. The gift pack that Lisa and our merchandise team and everybody puts together is more than worth the value. And then on top of that, you get this round of golf, which the whole premise behind the classic five years ago was this idea of, you know, we talked about it with the LPGA event at the, at the Hilton Grand Vacation this week where it's like, you get to go out and test your game in a real environment where you care and where you're competing where you can win something. That's awesome. Golf isn't like, you know, football. If you're a giant football fan, you don't go play football on the weekend. If you don't work on your fucking throwing motion, right?
Starting point is 00:30:57 If you're a golfer, you're taking fucking shadow swings while you're pumping gas. And every weekend, you're out there trying to play your best. So the whole point of the Barstall Classic is not everybody's a member of a country club. Not everybody gets to play in their club championship or their member or their member guest. For a lot of folks out there, there's just not that many opportunities to truly go out there, have a teammate, and compete in something that is both really fun, but also. matters to you where you want to play well. And that's what the Barstool Classic is. The environment's great. You meet a lot of other people that are very much like-minded, like yourselves, that are into golf,
Starting point is 00:31:29 that have all kinds of different jobs. It's networking. It's fun. You have a few truly hard salters. You try to play competitive golf. If you qualify, amazing. You get more than your value back by a million because you don't have to pay for tea times or food and beverage when you do make it to the championship. And if you don't qualify, we still get dozens, if not hundreds of notes every year. Just being like, thank you. That was the most fun day of the year. I'm so glad I took off work. Can't wait for next year.
Starting point is 00:31:55 So it's a fantastic time. Barstool Classic.com. Huge shout out to Lisa Litback, who's the best, who runs this whole thing. She'll email you back faster than you can hit send. She'll hit send back on an email that you send. If you have any inquiries or questions, just in our entire team, there's so many different folks that work incredibly hard to make the Barstow Classic go smoothly so that we don't have to be nearly as hands-on as we used to be.
Starting point is 00:32:18 We kind of just show up, maybe singing. national anthem or two if there's a Canadian in the attendance and just hang out shake hands kiss babies and have a good time the rest of our team live events team the marketing team mb and her whole crew the merch team they crush it and do all the logistics for the most part we kind of just show up and hang out so barcelclicic.com do us a favor vindicate all of their hard work sign up gear up so that we don't panic and feel like nobody wants to play in it it usually sells out in about five 10 minutes I would say 80% of the venues so make sure you you're ready. Barsville Classic can't wait.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Year 5. Fun fact, boys. This one, this fact's really fun. Very fun. The average person has around 12 paid subscriptions. Think about that. So that would be monthly. If that's the average, I'm over. I think I'm over as well. Well, I used to be. Streaming options, food options.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Yeah, we've got a bunch of subscriptions. That's a fact. I probably have around 12. Well, now with Rocket Money, we can check how money we have. I probably have right around there. Think about two. I mean, not even, but just like, subscription for paying for your internet, paying for your phone. Those are like subscriptions that come across that obviously you need to pay. You want to make sure you keep paying those. I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:33:38 So I was double dipping on some of, so I have Verizon. And then with my phone bill, it came with like Hulu, ESPN Plus and Disney. And then I also had a Disney plus subscription for a different email prior to when I got the Verizon bundle. And Rocket Money was able to. to see that I was subscribed to Disney Plus twice with two different emails. You know what I mean? It was all coming from the same credit card. I never would have known that.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I'm not looking at my statement at the end of the month being like, where is it all coming from? I'm just like looking at it being like, oh, and then I'm paying it. And now I have an app that's literally giving me updates and alerts saying you are double dipping. And it was right when I first signed up for rocket money.
Starting point is 00:34:16 So it's an amazing piece of technology that everyone needs to get in on. I would bet a lot of people are in that same boat. I bet a lot of people heard you say that. we're like, I bet I'm doing the same thing. Yeah, you never realize that you've double-dipped. And then your Verizon account's on a different email because it's all hooked up to that. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Over 80% of people have subscriptions. They forgot about, like that streaming service you bought to watch just one show on or that free trial that you never even use. Rocket Money will quickly and easily identify your subscriptions for you so you can stop paying for the ones you do not want. Simply find the subscription you don't want and press cancel. Rocket Money will cancel it for you. Rocket Money makes canceling subscriptions as easy as a click of it. a button. So stop throwing your money away. Cancel unwanted subscriptions and manage your expenses the easy way by going to
Starting point is 00:35:01 RocketMoney.com slash four. That's rocketmoney.com slash four. Rocketmoney.com slash four. Moving on, we got Big Cedar. Final video from Big Cedar Wednesday at 6 o'clock Eastern Mountain Top. Mountain Top is my favorite part three at the venue. It's kind of a wind down for us, kind of a chill out. We push carts we put i think it's 13 holes or so uh par three course it's beautiful it's on the same property basically as pains valley you kind of go around you can see pains valley um really fun we did like a skins game uh and it's stunning so kind of your last video uh from big cedar and check that puppy out youtube please subscribe right trying to get people to fucking subscribe to our i have to subscribe
Starting point is 00:35:51 it's as simple as that you got to subscribe it's it's such an easy thing for you to do we never make a push for it we're starting to do more pushes towards it we're going to see a lot more. We're going to rev it up for trying to push for subscribers here in the early new year. We have a couple of things to give away if you're a subscriber. So being a subscriber right now will only just get you entry into our giveaways that we will be doing in the near future. So just make sure you hit on that. We have a whole system where we can see every single subscriber. We're going to start picking winners. And that's an exciting thing. I do have to say from the last episode real quick, that fucking, that last hole with the ball that quote unquote did not
Starting point is 00:36:28 cross the water i got many many messages many many comments many many many dms about how could i possibly have thought that those balls cross the water when you can clearly see that the tracer just puts it right into the water and to that i will say they just put like the guys who edited it can just make the tracer go wherever they want it to go like you can just make a tracer look however you want it to look i think the biggest part of the argument was like we all didn't truly know when it turned or where it turned. It's crazy to me that they made it very distinctly just a duck hook into the water when like it was a conversation in real time. Um, so yeah, I'll say like I'm not going to throw anyone in the bus, but like they could have they could have helped me out even to make it
Starting point is 00:37:06 look like a sliver maybe touch the grass, but they made it look like it went into the trees off impact. So everyone's like, how did you think that was across the water? I'm like, well, obviously I had a, had a blue tracer come out of the ball in real time and it looked like that. I would have been like that's in the water. You got Tracer Seward. You got Tracer Seward for sure. Pretty accurate to me. Yeah, whatever.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Tracer was dead on for me. You know, I heard that you were kind of mutter into the producers when you saw that the Tracer, you know, Tracer. I just asked why. I thought it could have been a little more ambiguous, you know, from what I recall in real time. And I, yeah, I had Tracer basically had you, you know, you hit it straight right into Mars. It's kind of what it looked like. And I don't, I don't know that that was exactly what it, what occurred. Also, it was on an angle.
Starting point is 00:37:51 someone came out to me at the course the other day wherever we were when it was in California and they're like you know like the camera was just on it so obviously on that angle it just looks like whatever I'll concede defeat at the end of the day obviously it went into the water that's where it ended up we ended up losing whatever it was
Starting point is 00:38:07 four and three or five and four the match was over anyway so I will concede defeat at that I just wish that at the end of the day they would have made it a little bit more of a conversation but it's fine yeah you know look it was a great match I think people were really high on the alternate shot format, which we're going to do much more of.
Starting point is 00:38:25 We were talking about it in the car. We did a lot of travel this last week. We were talking about it on just the alternate shot, for whatever reason, it's not something we'd really done before. It just delivers. It's much easier to film. You get a ton of camaraderie. You basically, whoever's not turned to hit, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:42 serves as the caddy and they're talking through it. And you're kind of like, where would you like me to leave you? And you get that throughout the whole thing. It's easier to follow. There's just one ball from each team in play. So alternate shot is a win. We're going to be doing a lot more of these travel series. When we do, we're going to do the alternate shot.
Starting point is 00:38:57 And just in general, on that note, when we do do these travel series, the idea to have all five of us in play is what we're going to try to do, just having everybody there when we can. Clearly, Lurch has his own gig, and we're trying to work our way through that. I do think it was kind of this misconception of, like, Dan was here to replace Lurch, which was a lot of timing and all of that. That was never the case. Lurch is quite different than Dan.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Dan's a journalist. Dan brings, like, insightful golf knowledge in a completely different background. Lurch is like us. He's a total clown. He brings a gigantic personality. So that's probably a little bit unfair to everybody that it seemed like there was a replacement thing going on, which is just never the case. So I know people were pumped to see Lurch back in the mix. That was always the plan was Lurch going to be a part of things. He's part of this show. We're chit chatting with Trotty. And it's great when he's got to do his real gig, which is an amazing job that he has, like an unbelievably full-time job that he has.
Starting point is 00:39:49 he's going to focus on that when he can make it to stuff that we're doing when he can make it to a travel series we're trying to plan and coordinate all that out uh so that's what's going on with with that whole situation the whole big cedar and people loving that you know one day i sat out and we had a dan lurch trent frankie match the next day dan couldn't make it he had a jewish holiday so uh we did an alternate shot match that's just what's going to happen i think people fucking love that format uh we're going to try to get a lot more into alternate shot going forward because yeah alternate shot So much fun. It brings the heat. On the dance side, too, I will say, like, he's got things coming that we, this is why we add him to the team. He's got different video series, completely different forms of content. And that is what you're all going to see. I think we kind of sewered him in the beginning being like, oh, we have these series.
Starting point is 00:40:36 And like, we're just going to, this is a substitution. This is a replacement when what Riggs just said is completely true. It was never supposed to be this thing that was like, it's a complete replacement. Obviously, you know, if you've been following the drama, quote unquote, over the past couple months. There was a lot of things to iron out with schedules and works and all this stuff. But we're getting there now. We're getting to a good place. Dan has things that haven't been released yet or announced yet that you're going to see why it's completely different. I personally love that side. Like you guys would know, I do like the behind the green stuff, which we're not even in. It's just like a documentary. I enjoy
Starting point is 00:41:08 things that aren't just us looking like fucking idiots playing golf, hitting the ball sideways and getting people saying that I touched the ball on the second hole in the wrong spot. And I should have marked it three inches to the left it's just like sometimes i like to step away from that and just like do things that we enjoy and like that i've always had a dream of doing and i think that dan is really taking that in stride where it's like he's passionate about certain things in golf and you're going to see that yeah i mean look i i i never i never thought i was going to replace lurch because like riggs mentioned we are just such different people that that was you know and you guys have this chemistry that of course you guys have been doing this for six years or seven what is it six
Starting point is 00:41:46 years now. So it's like, of course you guys are going to have a banter and a rhythm that I don't quite fit a hundred percent into. Obviously, I think that side will grow. But I wasn't brought on here to be the fourth, you know, of you guys. I was brought on to be to be me and continue what I was doing before, which was kind of more the in-depth storytelling, more of the covering professional golf angle. And Riggs and I had a nice conversation this last weekend where he said, look, the model is for four months or whatever it's been since I join. We're going to throw you into the fire, you're going to be in every video, you're going to travel with us, and we're going to see what works and see what doesn't.
Starting point is 00:42:18 And I have a longing and a desire to return, to not leave what we were doing before, but to really double down on what I'm best at. And that's where you're going to see me do. I'm going to go really, really hard this year on the tour coverage. I'm going to bring some storytelling aspects that Fortplay hasn't had and be additive to the crew, additive to Riggs and Trent and Frankie and Lurge as opposed to trying to replace anybody. And it's been, it's been four months when golf is.
Starting point is 00:42:43 dead. It's been golf's off season, right? So it's like we hire this guy that's going to cover and bring the insightful golf coverage and then golf's just quiet and dormant for four months. So like you just said, I followed Dave Portnoy model basically of like throw when you throw somebody in, see what works, see what doesn't. Now we're into golf season. We got live. We got Max Homa winning. We got Reed versus Worry. We got all the drama. Dan was, and we spoke about this on five, 10 phone calls that we had before we ever made a hire anything like that. of like Dan's going to be Dan and do his thing and be additive and, and,
Starting point is 00:43:16 uh, supplementary to everything else that we do while also being very much involved. Um, but we're going to have a mishmosh. You might see a podcast where, where I'm not, I might see a podcast like McCord and Branda last week where it's just me and a couple guys.
Starting point is 00:43:30 You might see, uh, Dan's out in the field work and putting, you know, uh, new real news, uh, videos or,
Starting point is 00:43:36 or articles or features together. We bring lurch in every couple weeks. That's just what this is going to be going forward. and I think that's probably best for everybody. I'm pumped for like major weeks for players championship weeks because we just fucking, we basically just do this the whole time during those weeks. And now we brought somebody on who's been deep into it for years. Dan, you're obsessed with that part of the game.
Starting point is 00:43:59 So many people have a thirst and desire to consume all kinds of, you know, insightful, in-depth nuts and bolts type content around golf, which you love to produce. So those big weeks especially, it's just going to be a phenomenal. addition to what we're doing. So anyways, that's sort of kind of a quick update. I think most people figure that out on their own. But if they hadn't, that's sort of where we're done it down for people sometimes. And I also do think that it's going to be, it's going to be awesome that Barstool, golf and foreplay becomes the place where during players week, during the Masters, like, you're going to want to listen to this podcast for specific in-depth reactionary, like, podcasting and
Starting point is 00:44:37 updates. Like, this is where you're going to get the stuff that you would get on Twitter from him and all of that stuff, but it's going to be so much more in depth. We never had that. It was always like, oh, we're going to listen to them for their funny, ridiculous takes. We're going to still have that, but we're also, we're all going to sit back and listen. Riggs, Trent and Lurch. And myself, we're going to sit there and be like, holy shit, Dan's reporting from Augusta, what's happening. And, like, I think that's going to resonate.
Starting point is 00:44:57 We haven't had that in the past four months. So, yeah, I'm excited. It's going to be a huge year. Dance credential to the Masters. He's insane. Our first official barstool employees credentialed for the master's tournament. Are we going live for that? Dan, how are you coming?
Starting point is 00:45:10 with that. I wasn't exactly comfortable. It sounds like we're going live with it. Yeah, I'm excited. It was something I was nervous about when I took this. Most likely. It was something I was nervous about giving your guys like history. There's been some some points of contention with Augusta. But look, they're smart. They understand where media is going, right? They had a dude perfect out there and did that video. Like there's, there's clearly people in the room who understand that, you know, media, golf media is not just golf week and golf magazine and golf digest anymore. So really, really nice for them to credential me. And I'm fired up to bring you guys stuff from inside the ropes. Look, this is a podcast that is incredibly pro masters. I think we're
Starting point is 00:45:49 about it. Oh my gosh. There's a gift. The only thing we really run into is you could say 99.99.999% of your words that have come out of your mouth about Augusta could be slurping them right up. And then the one time you're critical about anything, they remember that, which I appreciate. I have nothing but appreciation for that. I very much respect, like I said, a month ago or so, whenever they sent the invite to the wrong, who was it, Brennan's Steel? Whoever it was, they sent the wrong invite.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Scott Stallings. Scott Stallings. They're both, I put them in the same bucket. Whatever that occurred, I can't tell you how much I appreciated that they didn't do some triple check. They just were like, this is our system that we've been doing forever. We're not utilizing technology to confirm. This is just what we do.
Starting point is 00:46:37 If it goes to the wrong person, it goes to the wrong person. So I, again, this has been a very pro-Austas show. And so hopefully, Dan, I think you're in good shape to get credential. But that be a big step. That'd be great. You're going to be inside, you know, that facility inside the gates throughout the whole week. At majors, you're going to, you know, whenever we get, whenever we get credentialed majors, we're just looking for a high five from Tiger Woods.
Starting point is 00:46:58 When you're credential in majors, you're looking for real stuff that you can then repackage, put context around and get out to the people, which is fantastic. And that's something that, like, I was wrestling. Like, I was trying to do both a little bit, right? I was kind of trying to fit in and kind of trying to do the high five thing. And Riggs kind of had a, you know, firm chat with me of like, this isn't you, do what you do. Do what this is why we hired you is not to try to do what we do is to do what you do. So there was a mental shift that took place over the weekend with me where I'm leaning into to what got me to this place.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Right. We didn't see a bunch of videos of you like golfing at Paines Valley with like duck boots on. We're like, we got to have that guy. We saw you, like, dominating the fucking reporting game and, like, taking over golf Twitter and all the Netflix. I don't even know if you're talking about that, but all this, like, you're, you're, you have a huge voice in golf. That's why we're like, we need that guy.
Starting point is 00:47:49 I just have the asshole that's in duck boots. I totally understand. I think we're all, we're all, you look, we're all better for it. Like, we're honest with each other and I think we're better for it. I have to give a shout out to Goat Hill Park. We got out there for the first time when we were in San Diego. I did. I know Brendan, uh, and somebody who we,
Starting point is 00:48:05 don't speak of because he left the company. I'm just kidding. They played it last year. It's a great spot. I got out there for the first time. It's got sort of this cult following in the world of golf, Goat Hill Park about, you know, it's very welcoming. It's very understated.
Starting point is 00:48:22 It's got incredible charm. It's pretty much all par three's, drivable, par fours. I didn't play the back nine, but I think there's a short, pretty reachable part five of the back nine. Driving range lit up a fire pit out there. Just a very blue. collar welcoming, inclusive type feel to Goat Hill Park. I was blown away. Amazing logo, bought a bunch of stuff. They have beer, you know, right next to where they sell like the hats. They sell beers in this tiny little shop. Sarah, who was there, you know, took great care of us,
Starting point is 00:48:52 had a drink with us afterwards by the fire pit. She's not allowed to leave until everybody leaves the property. We were having a drink. Just Goat Hill Park blew me away. I love that spot. Shout to my guy, Ash, who, um, who just puts his heart and soul. They say he's out there on like the bulldozer at 6 a.m. every day changing holes, changing all kinds of stuff. So go to Hill Park. If you're ever in the Carlsbad, San Diego area, it's a must checkout, even like we got there with an hour and a half left of daylight, spun around real quick. Alex Bush came out, birdied his first hole of the year, which was Bushing charts with rental clubs. He had like these wippy rental clubs. He ended up getting steamrolled and I won all the skins, but he did win the first hole
Starting point is 00:49:29 with a birdie. So congratulations to Bush. He had the only birdie of the day. And then Alster and our guys Sam were back at it this week. They're in Panama. The Corn Ferry Tour moves on. They're back to a regular schedule. So I think they're playing Thursday through Sunday, like a normal golf tournament. He emcee hammered it last week, which we didn't really discuss much. But after going, whatever he was, T30 or T.T.30, the first week.
Starting point is 00:49:54 So back at it, the boys this week. I know he's feeling good about it. Of course, looks really pure. If you follow their stuff, they post a bunch of content from their adventures out on the Corn Ferry Tour. so good luck to our boy alister and sam this week all right i think i got through all the administrative stuff oh merchandise we're gonna have merchandise in the phoenix open phoenix open okay coming up week this is more can we do the breaking news noise again i mean can we can we just blast that out there we can we i hope i hope we just got the breaking news noise because i know we
Starting point is 00:50:26 talked about it during an ad read a little bit we're kind of uh trickling this out there in the tent at the waste management Phoenix Open, we're going to have merchandise that is co-branded with the Phoenix Open and Barstool Golf. We've been going through this stuff, hoodies, hats, all kinds of good stuff in the tent. So when you go to the tent at the Phoenix Open,
Starting point is 00:50:46 we'll be there, we'll be hanging. Our merch team's out there. Shout to Quinn, who does a lot of the retail-type work for our merchandise. He kills it. Allison, Alex, Pilar, they dominate on the merch side. They got us in the tent at the Phoenix open. So when you're there, go check out the tent. Don't leave that fucking tent.
Starting point is 00:51:05 Okay. Don't leave it until you check out the barstool golf section because we've come up with some really cool shit that you're going to love. So just to be clear, we've got the fifth year of the Barstall Classic 25 stops. We've got one of our guys is credentialed at the Masters. And now we have probably. We have co-branded here at a PGA tour event. And these are guys who are pretending like we know what we're doing. You know what I mean? That's the craziest part. That's what I think about sometimes, like when all this stuff is happening and we got this merch and we got, we're getting credentialed that we're maybe getting credentialed at like one of the most exclusive golf course in the world. And I sit down and I lay down. I stare at the ceiling at night and I think, well, I don't know what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:51:45 I don't know what I'm doing. I just don't know what I'm doing. You know what I mean? It's pretty crazy. We have no idea what we're doing. And yeah, that is so insane to me that we have co-branded merchandise inside the tent. When you go inside the tent at a PGA tour event, it's the biggest brands in golf. It's Peter Millar.
Starting point is 00:52:05 It's Adidas. It's all these huge things that are happening. You see all these signs and all these huge, huge displays of merchandise. And then you're telling me, there's going to be a barstool sports section that's just in the middle of this fucking tent that says like four play and barstool golf and waste management all on the same pieces of clothing. are you are you fucking kidding me like i've been to these events my whole life i that's the first thing you do is you go into the tent when we are credential media we run to the tent me and trent will look for hoodies and we'll and and riggs will go straight to the peter millar section and like you're getting how many fucking polos have you guys gotten and quarter zips of of at these at these places i mean i go in
Starting point is 00:52:47 there and i get a different flag that's behind me like it's constant and now we're going to be in there what are you talking about and it's it's our big It's our biggest demographic, too, for sure. Like that's our crew at the waste management. So if you're going, I'm sure if you're listening to this and you're in Arizona, you're going to be going, make sure you go to the tent. You're going to see our people there. I'm sure Alex and Allison and Pilar and Quinn, they're all going to be there.
Starting point is 00:53:12 You're going to be able to meet them, all the people behind the scenes. We're going to be in the tent also. We'll be there. We're going to fucking be there. It's insane that we're going to be able to sell this merch to you and be like, here. The checkouts right there. You can just buy this here. You don't have to get it online.
Starting point is 00:53:25 It wasn't that long ago. It's like, I just want to buy these shoes. Disguises to go into PJ Tour vets because we were banned. Right. They did not want us there. We couldn't go to PG Tour events because we. And things have taken a turn. I'm picturing, and I'm sure Augusta does this.
Starting point is 00:53:42 And again, this is all maybes and potentials. But like when we go to US Open or the PGA Championship, in the media center, they have the Barstool Sports thing at each station. the fact that that might be at Augusta National is a stunner and very cool. Do they do that, Dan? Do they put those little media plates in your spot in the Augusta Media Center? They do, but I don't think that you're like allowed to take them. Yeah, but can you take a picture?
Starting point is 00:54:13 Can you take a picture? You could definitely take a picture. It's going to say Barstall Sports? It'll say Dan Rappaport, Barstall Sports. Wow. That one's going to do some numbies, Dan. That one will do some numbies. if you can get ready for that one.
Starting point is 00:54:26 I'm ready for that one. Got to time that right. You know, 6 p.m. whenever the algorithm says it's perfect. You got to really, you got to really milk that one. My mom just sent me a photo of this like golf book said golf in America. The first 100 years of golf in America by George Pepper. And on the inside is something that I must have wrote when I was like six years old. I mean, I thought the handwriting's horrible and says, Dear Daddy, I hope me and you can go golfing one day. Love Frank.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Wow. That's incredible. Isn't that the coolest thing of all time? Oh my God. We just had this whole conversation about how the brand that we all work on is in the waste management tent and we're credentialed at the masters and we have a tournament that goes to 25 different cities. And there was a five year old in me that was like, I hope one day that you can take me on the golf course and I can play that sport that you like to come home and talk about. That's like getting me emotional. That's fucking, that's insane, man.
Starting point is 00:55:21 That's cool. That's real life stuff. That's a real life, like dream that's coming true. That's a real life dream. That's amazing. Yeah. Wow. Golf with your dad.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I don't know if there's anything better than that. Oh my gosh. It's the best. It's the absolute best. Trent, aren't you trying to play golf with your dad this week coming up? Yeah, we're, yeah,
Starting point is 00:55:42 I'm definitely playing with them. We're going, I'm going out to Arizona a little bit early, because we'll be out there for Super Bowl week and waste management and all that stuff. My parents, they do the winters in Arizona. They got a place down there. So I'm going to go down a little couple days early and play some
Starting point is 00:55:53 golf it's going to be awesome. Nice. My dad's got to be a puddle looking at that book right now. An absolute water. He's going to break his phone. There's going to be so much water on it. Oh, my God. All right.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Getting, obviously, sports. We talk a lot about sports on this show, Barcelona Sports. We're talking about golf. Nothing more fun than having a little bit of skin in the game. Barstool Sportsbook is the best way to help you do that. Not only can you have skin in the game, but you bet with us. You can bet with Big Cat, with Dave, with four play.
Starting point is 00:56:28 We're doing the for the cut. I don't know exactly when this read is going into the show, but if you have not heard, we hit the for the cut bet yet again. It's plus 800. That means eight to one. Three weeks ago. It was plus 425. That means over four to one.
Starting point is 00:56:44 You got paid out. So the Barstall sports book is clearly the best way to do that because we're giving out winners right now, fellas. Boys are hot and we're just keeping it going. We've got a couple of good guys. We got four to be exact, good guys coming into this next four the cut bet. and I think we're going to stay hot. And yeah, it's been fun.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I really enjoy it. And it keeps you very, very invested in watching that Thursday, Friday because you want to see how these guys are doing. You star them on your The Score app. You're looking on the Marshall Sportsbook app. It's a fun, it's a fun time to be alive with the PGA tour back in full swing. Very, very fun time to be alive. Football this last weekend. Oh, boy, it was a hell of a ride.
Starting point is 00:57:23 The game last night. You know, these games are tough when you get, I think like everybody kind of feels like we're going to get Mahomes and Burrow going out of each other for the next 10, 15 years. These ones feel a little bit like I'm watching golf or it's like it's hard to accept anyone losing, you know? And I remember, yeah, I felt that way a little bit last year. Sorry, Bush. But when the bills lost to the chiefs in that game, it was like it was almost like, no, you know, you almost didn't want to see a team lose. felt like that a little bit last night, but what will obviously make the games
Starting point is 00:57:57 to a point where you have a very real reason to be rooting for one over the other is to get a little bit of skin in the game. So go check out the Barstrel's Sportsbook. We got guys on there. Leo's doing Mr. Ice. He's giving out hockey picks nonstop. Him and Dave are a racetrack the entire weekend.
Starting point is 00:58:14 It just makes everything more fun. It's life worth living. It's excitement. And you can do it with the Barstville Sportsbook. I'm in Arizona. I'm rocking it all the time. download today, create an account. You get $1,000 new player bonus.
Starting point is 00:58:27 If your first bet loses, get up to $1,000 in bonus cash. Bonus cash. Must be 21 plus gambling problem. Call 1-800 gambler. Again, call 1-800 gambler. You can parlay things. You can get in-game, live betting. If you see your team that you think is going to win the game, they're down a couple
Starting point is 00:58:47 goals. One of my favorite things to do, you're going to get them at great odds. If you believe that team before the game, reason not to believe them now. I do that with hockey a lot. Go jump in the live and game bet. So, Barstville Sportsbook, best way to do it. If you have a gambling problem, remember, call 1-800 gambler. Okay, a couple more things.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I want to get to some Dan's prepared, some real golf news about Max Holman and a few other things that are going on. I just want to address this Delta Sky Club denial that I got yesterday. I saw a few people were quite confused about this because I've heard Frankie rave about this thing. And so I'm in Jacksonville. I got there way too early for my flight yesterday. And so I walked by. I see the Delta Sky Club.
Starting point is 00:59:33 I heard great things. And I don't, people are like, oh, you just tried to walk in. Yeah, but the reason I just tried, I didn't know what it took. I just figured, and here's why I figured it,
Starting point is 00:59:43 okay? I have, for five years, I've had the Delta gold card. Now, people are, I don't know anything about credit cards. I just got this credit card five years ago, and I use it, says Delta on it,
Starting point is 00:59:54 and I've got a million points. The other thing, I've got four almost 500,000 delta miles. So we got like 500,000 delta miles. I've got a delta card that I've been using forever. And I have a first class ticket. I fly so much. I get first class tickets all time.
Starting point is 01:00:12 So I got a first class ticket. I got a delta card that I've had forever and I got like 500,000 miles. So I'm just looking at my phone thinking something in this whole thing has to just get me into this fucking caught. You're thinking you're a lock. You're thinking you're a lock. I'm just thinking like I've never been into this before. but like I something's got to get me in it here. If you're like all this stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:30 If the airport operates like a major league like an NBA or an NHL, you're a good looking draft pick. Your draft stock is high with all this stuff. That's what I was thinking. I don't know the I don't exactly. I don't know which skill they're looking for, but I think I got it. Like it's in,
Starting point is 01:00:43 it's in the arsenal somewhere. So I walked in there and she's like, all right, sir, please scan your ticket here. No problem. Scan my ticket. Red. So I'm like,
Starting point is 01:00:51 okay. She's like, well, which card you usually use when you get in? And I was like, oh, I'm not, you know, not sure. I was like kind of mummling. And I was like, oh, I got this card. So I give her.
Starting point is 01:01:00 And she goes, oh, we stopped taking the gold card at the beginning of COVID. So you have to have the platinum card or better. And so then I desperately, it's my third now attempt. I go, well, I've got like all these miles. And she just goes, yeah, you got to have platinum or higher. And I was just like, all right. And there's a line now. There's like three people behind me that are just like no ones.
Starting point is 01:01:24 these people have never seen someone get to like who makes it this far they can't just get into delta sky club so i have to like awkwardly like it's not that there wasn't the most room of all time so i have to now like turn around these people had to like get out of the way and they had such like looks on their face like who is this fucking peasant that's just leaving the delta club and then the door literally like hits me on the ass as i'm walking out of there and i got to go to fucking einstein bagels or whatever and buy like a 30 dollar bagel and a coffee coffee. It was just a tough seat. And I, you know, I didn't tweet that out looking for sympathy. I tweeted out what I tweeted being like, this was on me. I didn't know. I didn't really do my research. So I
Starting point is 01:02:04 instantly got the platinum card. So next time I'm in there, I'm going to walk into that fucking delta lounge like a king. Uh, but yeah, I just got, I mean, it was, they never even considered allowing me into this fucking thing. I will, so I also don't have the requisite credentials to get into that place. Um, just don't have enough miles. I don't even have the credit card that they, they would spit on me if I tried to get in there. But Frankie does, and he has such points and such whatever's that he can go in there. And then he can also bring a guest. And I've been in there.
Starting point is 01:02:33 He can bring two guests. I can go in there as just a regular patron. And I'll tell you what, those Delta Sky Clubs are the greatest areas within 50 miles of any city that you're in. Like you could go to a nightclub and it wouldn't be as nice as the Delta Sky Club. We're lucky in New York, like JFK and LaGuardia have really good ones, like updated, massive, the best food options and all that. The one in Jacksonville was like kind of just subpar. It was like at the end of the day,
Starting point is 01:03:00 it was just like a little bit of an option of food. It was like, yeah, but I'm saying like I've gotten a couple of tweets. This is my first year in the Delta Sky Club because I hit Diamond. And then when you hit Diamond in your status, you get a choice of three options. Like you can get like a global upgrade of first class. And then you can get executive access to the Delta Sky Club,
Starting point is 01:03:20 which is you and two people for the rest of the year. as many as you as many times you want. So that's been the best perk of all time. But I've gotten a bunch of tweets ever since I tweeted that it's the greatest waste on there saying like there's a couple bad ones. But if the one in Jacksonville is considered a bad one, then I think we're looking pretty good because it's still a comfortable chair with hummus and like snacks and fucking salmon. And you're just like you're sipping on a mojito and you're fine.
Starting point is 01:03:43 I mean like you're fine. I saw everybody sitting there. They're doing like the Tonight Show pose with their legs crossed and having like a sip of a nice fine glass is like, it looks pretty good to me over there. It makes you realize that, like, airports could be way better. But when you're not in the Delta Sky Club, they just give you the bare minimum. They, again, you can go to like a Hudson News and get a bag of beef jerky and you got to get on your flight. But if you cross into the Delta Sky Club, it's the Ritz.
Starting point is 01:04:13 It is so goddamn nice. So, yeah, whenever I fly with Frankie, it's, it's a real treat because he scans me in. A lot of people are going to be mad that we, that we're talking about this because it's, It's supposed to be somewhat of a hidden secret of like if you know how to get in, you get in. Now we're like giving legit ways. That's what they get. I would have never fucking brought it up. And it's so crowded sometimes that people are going to be so mad.
Starting point is 01:04:33 You have to travel a ton to even get it. Or you just get a credit card. Is that what the way to do it? I might do that. Yeah. Yeah, dude, it's $250 a year, trip is like the fee they make you pay. But then you get it back, right? Like with the free drinks and all the bullshit, you get it back really easily.
Starting point is 01:04:47 You may have to pay each time to get in of like 30 bucks with the credit card. I'm not sure. You have to look at that. But either way, you're getting it. Dude, it's worth it. Either way you're getting in. I got the card on my phone already. Also, new technology where, like, the second that I signed up for the card and then I got
Starting point is 01:05:00 approved, they just send you the card details. And they're like, yeah, you don't need your actual credit card will come this week. But like, here's all the info and you could just plug it into your Apple pay and all that and use it instantly on your phone, which I didn't know you can do that. Very cool. I don't know what Dan's going to talk about, but I don't want to step on it. But I watched, right before I came on here, I watched Brandl-Cambly's breakdown of Patrick Reed's ball going into the tree.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Oh, yeah. One of the funniest things I've ever seen because it's so clearly not what Patrick Reed said happened. And the way Brandel goes through it, and regardless of how you feel about Brandel, it's a very funny video. We love him. But he basically goes through it like it's the, the Lugie episode of Seinfeld, where he's like it would, the way that it goes now went into this first tree. And if once it hits the first tree, it would have to go T-side. And for it to hit and go into the tree that Patrick said it went into, it would have to, hit the tree, go around it, pick up velocity and go into the next tree is a very, very funny
Starting point is 01:05:58 breakdown. And by the way, Brandel is going to get a $10 billion lawsuit on Valentine's Day because he is going to be a problem. The undertones exactly as he was saying it that everybody was picking up on too of like Brandel is being sued for $850 million by this guy for doing stuff like this. And then as he's doing it and he's got this little smirk on his face. And then he just like a legit SNL sketch, he just hammered it just a little bit too much that made me laugh out loud. Like when he's like, yeah, yeah, just run that spot, check back.
Starting point is 01:06:31 Okay, yeah, yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. Now, it would have to reverse direction, pick up altitude, and then jump over there. Yesterday was the first time of my life that I saw Brando tweet out a few hours before.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Like, we're going to break down the Patrick Reed video. And I actually set my alarm for Golf Central so that I wouldn't. miss it. And when he came on and you could see that little smirk on his face, I was like, oh, he's ready for this. That was just, I couldn't agree more. And then you knew he, he knew it was good because he tweeted out and put the video on his Instagram. I mean, Frank, if you had the technology that Brand was using at Buffalo Ridge, you would have had a much better case than what you have with the tracer because he kept slowing it down and they kept shadow spotted the ball. And he was like, one more time, one more time. And you can see,
Starting point is 01:07:16 like, you can see it there. And then it disappears. It's, it's a master. It's a master class in trolling a guy who's suing you for a billion dollars. Well, what's interesting about that rule is basically if a ball goes into a tree, you have two options before declaring it lost. The first one is you can identify the ball, right, which is what he claimed to be able to do. The other one is if someone, if marshals or fans saw the ball go into the tree, then you're good. If they say, oh, I saw it go into this tree.
Starting point is 01:07:42 So there were marshals on site who said they saw it go into that tree, which is a different, but he didn't stop there. He wasn't satisfied to just say, oh, you know, I couldn't see it. But these guys told me it went into a tree. He went out of his way to say that he's 100% sure that it went into the tree. A hundred percent sure is what he said. And here's the thing. Is it possible that it's just a coincidence and that Patrick Reed's reputation precedes him
Starting point is 01:08:04 and that we can't judge anything that he does, you know, impartially because of who he is? Yeah, it's possible. It's possible. But this is just happening way too much for this to be a coincidence, right? Like the guy's in the middle of the controversy, every single. time. Maybe maybe you're the just maybe you're the common denominator. And I'm not going to say this just because I had my own
Starting point is 01:08:26 where did the ball go controversy within the last 24 hours. But the thing that really confused me was people were telling him that's the tree went into. And didn't isn't the person that makes a ruling the one that says yes, that is the ball? Like he had to describe the wall and the guy goes, well, here's. So here's the issue. The issue is that you can't just say with confidence that it went into that tree. and take a drop under the tree. You have to be able to, with 100% certainty, identify your ball.
Starting point is 01:08:56 So if it goes into that tree and is not visible from anywhere, you have to go back to the tea, even if you know it went into that tree. You can't just say that it took that. You have to go back. You have to identify your golf ball. Unless, and I think this is, I'm pretty sure this is a rule,
Starting point is 01:09:11 unless that there are people around who can say I saw it go into that tree. No, I do not believe that's true. You have to identify your golf ball. So the whole point. And Brandle's thing. Didn't the ruling guy identify it? No, here's what occurred. It's always up to the golfer.
Starting point is 01:09:25 And that's where it always gets tricky, is that Patrick Reed took out binoculars that I think the guy had. Patrick Reed pointed to a golf ball that was in the wrong tree and said to the guy with confidence, those markings on that are my golf ball. And the guy you can hear him, you can hear his audio going back and forth to Patrick being like, okay. So you're sure about those markings are definitely your.
Starting point is 01:09:50 or something along those lines. And he asked him a few different times, and Patrick goes, yep. And Brando makes the point that Patrick didn't pull a ball out of his bag and say, see those markings up there? These are the same things on my ball. He never did that. He just confirmed to the rules official that, yeah,
Starting point is 01:10:04 what we're looking at right there, that little thing on the end of that arrow, that is my ball because that's what I use. And the rules official in that situation can't overrule and be like, I'm not convinced of this percentage. He has to go on Patrick Reed's, word. And so the whole point in this is that what that video shows is not that it's impossible for people to be confused if it went into the wrong tree. That's totally understandable. The rule is that you have to identify your golf ball. For Patrick Reed to be confirming that that was his golf ball when the video shows it went into a different tree means that in that moment, Patrick Reed was lying. He was looking at that golf ball. And even if he thought maybe it looked like his markings, you can't be 100 percent. because that ball is 100% in a different tree.
Starting point is 01:10:52 So you can't Patrick Reed be 100% positive. That's your ball because it isn't. And so that's where the issue lies because like I said, you can't, it's like, it's just like when a ball goes into like some fescue or something and it's not marked, you can't have everyone just be like, I know it went into this fescue. So I get to take just like a drop here.
Starting point is 01:11:14 That's a lost ball, a lost ball. Yeah, you're right. I was wrong about this. And this actually happened to me in Orlando. I hit a ball on the 17th hole into a bush and everyone saw it go into the bush and we knew it was in the bush, but you couldn't actually find the ball. And so I had to run back to the tea like an idiot. This is really what Liv is robbing us of of, you know, as a storylines guy, I mean, Patrick Reed is as good as it gets.
Starting point is 01:11:37 He's just, he's throwing teas at Roy McElroy's feet. He's, you know, these guys are battling in Dubai and, and he's, you know, getting into another rules controversy. Like, say what you want about all this stuff. and you know, you can have your own opinions about Patrick Reed. I'm sure people have very strong opinions about Patrick. He's a polarizing figure. But the fact that people have opinions about him is incredibly important. And the fact that he plays in these events now that, you know,
Starting point is 01:12:01 they're going to be on the CW. They were getting, you know, 4,000 people were watching them when they were on YouTube. The fact that this guy isn't in every single PG-Tor event that we can watch is a goddamn travesty. Yep. Yeah, it's similar to Bryston. Him and Bryson are really the only two guys that are like that. golf where it's like they deliver storylines every week that they play.
Starting point is 01:12:23 We talk about, you know, we don't want to put these guys in a bucket because you can't judge. You just, you know, you're making sweeping generalizations about these people, but it would appear that the guys that went to live, some of them fall into the bucket of, they get into controversies. Bryson, Patrick, Brooks to a certain extent, Phil certainly at certain points.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Like the guys who, you know, would get the spotlight shown on them for reasons. that they might not love, most of those guys jump to live. And as a golf fan, as a guy who is on a golf podcast and makes golf content, like I miss that those guys are involved in the tour that has the most eyeballs on it. Me too. And that's where the real shame is at this part. Maybe the live plus PGA tour thing will pan out to be better for spectators and viewers of fans of golf in the long run.
Starting point is 01:13:13 In the short run, it's definitely not because you're taking half of these guys basically from DJ to Bryson to read to Cam Smith and you're removing them from the main, you know, attraction, which is the PJ tour, which is them competing this week against Ram and Max Homa and Kalamorkawa down the stretch and they're being drama mixed in with all of that. I think being done in one place is better and we got a taste of it. You're right. Like we had the fucking Dubai tournament where they teed off at midnight tonight is like getting a lot of the traction because all that's going on.
Starting point is 01:13:45 And it is. It's NBA-esque. Like you need this drama, you need villains. Patrick Reed, by all accounts, even though he's definitely is out there being incredibly questionable with the rules on multiple occasions, Patrick Reed delivers. I mean, golf Twitter was going crazy. People were asking me about the tree. What's going on with the tree that don't really understand golf?
Starting point is 01:14:06 He's fantastic for that aspect of it. And then you get him versus Rory in the T situation and the subpoena on Christmas Eve. I don't, like that's just, those are stories. stories, man. Those are fucking stories coming out of an average golf tournament in fucking Dubai. And then the fact that Rory had to make a 15 footer for Bertie on a 72nd hole of the tournament to beat Patrick Reed by one who did a whole tree thing. It's like you can't, you just can't make that shit. No, you could argue that this, this situation wouldn't have happened if lives didn't exist, right? Because it starts from, you know, Patrick Reed is suing Rory because of something he said about, you know, he attacked his character.
Starting point is 01:14:44 Who knows what it is? I don't know the details. And then he wouldn't be throwing. a, you know, a Liv Teen T at his feet because Liv wouldn't exist. But I, you know, I feel pretty confident in saying that Patrick Reed would have found something. If the Live had never existed and he was still on the PJ tour, he's going to find something that is going to piss everybody off and there's going to be a similar tension. It's just blown out because there's a whole separate league now.
Starting point is 01:15:06 He's been doing it for 15 years. I mean, it goes back to college, right? There were cheating accusations in college. You know, it goes back to when, you know, obviously we all saw it in the hero when he's moving sand out of the bunker. and again, proclaiming 100% innocence, that's the part for me that's like, why not just say, yeah, I don't know, like it's probably my ball, but let's just be safe. The guy just says, nope, 100% deny, denied, deny, deny until he dies.
Starting point is 01:15:28 It's kind of amazing. He just like doesn't know how to get out of his own way. I think, I honestly think he was presented with this. He hit a drive 300 yards away. He saw it go towards the trees. Someone tells him it's in that tree. And Patrick Reed, his brain is now going to do everything he can to make sure that he finds his ball in that tree because he was told it was in that tree. And, you know, at the end of the day,
Starting point is 01:15:51 someone that's not Patrick Reed would have to just accept the fact that, yes, I'm being told that my ball's in this tree, but I have to say I can't identify it. That's something that I guess Patrick Reed does not possess. Like, had they told them it was in the first tree, he would have done the same thing and been like, that's my ball. You know what I mean? Because he's being told his ball is there. So I do kind of, I could see why Patrick Reed being Patrick Reed was not going to just accept the fact that his ball was not in that tree. If you're being told 350,000, you're being told 350, 15 yards away. Your ball's in this tree. You should have to identify it. A Patrick Reed-esque type person is going to be like, I'm finding this fucking golf ball. Like there's no way you're going to
Starting point is 01:16:24 tell me you have to go back to the T because you saw it go in here. That's your fault for telling me it. So I'm going to find that ball. So that's a little fucked in that aspect where it's like, you have to be so uncertain that it's not yours that you have to be willing to take a fucking penalty stroke, even though a human being is telling you, I watched it go in here. That's a little hard to do, guys. Patrick Reed effect is he takes it one step further and says That's definitely my ball. Right. I understand that.
Starting point is 01:16:48 I'm just saying, like, if it wasn't Patrick Reed, I think we'd be able to see the side of, like, it's a hard decision as a human to make to be like, that's not mine. That's the bedrock of golf rules. For sure. It's all about calling penalties on yourself and that assumption that everyone's going to be honest. That's where it is. You're like, who I don't think there's that many guys who would then go and say it's a hundred percent mine. You know what I mean? Like that takes a special.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Well, he always takes it. Yes. I mean, the guy is aloof. That's the word for him. He has no idea what that. That's a really good point. And this was my take on the whole T-Gate thing was like, I genuinely wonder how aware he is of everything that's going around with his name on it. We know that he surrounds himself that Justine's at the wheel. Obviously, we know the U-Galt, use Gulf Fax Twitter. He's got this quack job lawyer who's suing everyone on the planet. How else do you explain walking up to a guy and trying to wish him a happy new year on January 25th, by the way, which is way too late to wish anyone a happy new year? When you subpoenaed him on Christmas Eve? Like on what planet do you think that that guy's just going to be? cool with you and be like, hey, dude, what's going on? So I genuinely don't know if he's aware.
Starting point is 01:17:50 I've had conversations with Patrick Reed where he's like, yeah, like, I barely have a cell phone because like my team handles everything. I think there's a chance that he just lives in fantasy land. Yeah, I think there's a chance or at least a degree of that where he's not really fully aware of what's going on. And, you know, with this situation, like, yeah, your reputation precedes you, which is why it makes sense for everyone else in golf to be like, in this situation, to be. to be like, I'm not 100, 100, 100% sure.
Starting point is 01:18:20 So unfortunately, I'm going to go back to the T. And guess what? You take your medicine. It ends up probably cost you a half a stroke or a stroke in the tournament. And you move on and nobody challenges your reputation. And the next time when you're in this type of situation, your reputation's good. And next time it's good.
Starting point is 01:18:35 And next time it's good. He had the incident where he clearly removed Sam from behind the ball. He had the incident where he claimed an embedded ball when we watched his ball bounce. And then he put his hands in the rough. It's all immediately grabbed the ball. And that's a crazy move. And then he clearly grabbed the ball and made it embedded. So when you've done those things on camera and then you're in a situation like this,
Starting point is 01:18:54 you just cannot claim that it was 100% that's your ball because everybody now has the footage that it's 100% not your ball. And I know what you're saying, Frankie, like if we're playing in our match, right, we just, if we're on, you know, we say like, hey, it went into this tree or one of these trees. I'm going to drop right here because we're not playing the rules quite as tight as that. and everybody's like, yes, we all know, we all watch it, going to that tree five. Problem is with Dan saying on tour, when you have 156 or 144 people in the field,
Starting point is 01:19:25 and 143 of them are all assuming honesty in that situation. And all 143 of them are how many people are going back to the T because they can't 100% claim because they're looking at the wrong ball in that situation. And then you have one that's not. That is just cheating. And that's going to cost other people hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially over a 20 years.
Starting point is 01:19:44 career and that's bullshit. Can't we have fucking ladders out there? They had binoculars. They had binoculars. I mean, it's 2023. Can we get this guy a drone up there or something? It's crazy.
Starting point is 01:19:56 The only thing funnier than the binoculars picture would be Patrick Reed going up a ladder, trying to find his ball in it. Why can't you? We, you can find your ball everywhere. They don't have access to the video, right? Do they, or do they like, I don't think they did.
Starting point is 01:20:09 I don't think they did. And there's a, there's a video or a picture of a, uh, uh, Kessler, Craig, who we're friends with, his caddy in like Malaysia a few years ago was in a tree. He climbed up into a tree to grab the ball to, to identify the golf ball. So like this has happened before, but I don't think those trees, I don't think you could climb up those. They were like, see, you'd have to.
Starting point is 01:20:29 No, they were like tall trees. Yeah. Yeah. Because that's the difference. I mean, there's a video. Sergio isn't there? Sergio in a tree hitting, checking a ball before. So it's like, dude, when it goes up into a tree, it's like you got to either identify it or if you can't, you got to go back to the tea.
Starting point is 01:20:44 it sucks, but it's a bad break. Plus, he didn't hit the fairway. So at that point, like, all these hazards are in play. So he can't really complain for taking a penalty stroke. Like, you hit it into a tree. Like, you didn't hit it right down the middle of the fairway. You hit it into some sort of hazard. So, yeah, I mean, I agree.
Starting point is 01:20:58 I agree that it is, I mean, the guy just can't get out of his own way. Like, like, that is, it's a hard position for anyone to be. And I think if Rory was in there looking at that ball, he'd be like mentally being like, holy shit, that's a hard. This is a hard walk back to the T. And I know he would do it. He's, he's Rory fucking Mac. He's going back to that tea.
Starting point is 01:21:15 But like, fuck, man. This guy finds himself in these situations where it's like, I can't believe he has to make this decision right now. Which one's he going to make? And he always makes the wrong one. I find it so impressive. He finished second in the tournament. I can't just be an easy round of golf for him though.
Starting point is 01:21:29 What a week, man. You got the T-gate, then you got T-gate, and then you finish second in the tournament. He's a guy who the level of awareness is an interesting question with Patrick Reed. Like, what does he know? What does he not know? But he is a guy, if he has any awareness, he has an incredible. ability to rise above it and play incredible golf. I think he relishes it. I think he likes it. I think he likes it. He likes feeling like the
Starting point is 01:21:50 villain and showing them. I'm a proof to them what I can do. We need a rules controversy here because I need to make a push tomorrow. So it's either he is it's completely like aloof to everything and he doesn't know what's going on. So he that's how he can play well because he's just like, no, everything is going fine. Like this is just how I operate or he has more awareness than we all hyper aware. Hyper aware and he does it out of spite. He's like, all right, we're going to get a rules official over here people are going to hate us for this and it's going to motivate me it's going to put gasoline in my engine to try to win this golf tournament and he almost did it's crazy to know that everything's on video and still try and like dupe people i guess is like that's the
Starting point is 01:22:29 craziest part and know that everyone's going to be watching you because you're patrick reed and still doing it that was my argument with the fucking ball going in the water in our ozark video when i turned back to the cameraman i'm like i'm glad this is on video because i know we're going to be able to go back and watch this that's how confident I was where like he's almost doesn't understand that it's on video and everyone's going to be like, you're making such egregious decisions that we're just going to be able to go back and look at it. We're going to be able to look at this. You understand that, right?
Starting point is 01:22:59 Like everything you're doing, we're going to be able to go see. You can't just keep explaining it to us. We're going to go watch it. I think it speaks to his lack of social media, his lack of consuming media. I think he literally is just like, I just think he's barely even paying attention. He's like, ah, this is in, uh, 240. I mean, this isn't HD. They're not quite going to see what my ball is.
Starting point is 01:23:16 He's just like grinding on the range today. And I think like everyone's going crazy in Twitter. He's not on Twitter. So he's just like, whatever. I don't give. We're in Dubai. This isn't even on TV. I mean, his Twitter, his official Twitter account,
Starting point is 01:23:28 which is definitely not run by him, has blocked every single person into oblivion. So he might not even be aware that this is a thing. Whoever is running that account might not be aware. Right. Exactly. I'm not even saying he's considering the TV thing, Frankie. I think it's just not on his radar. It's just like he's just hitting balls or he's having lunch in Dubai.
Starting point is 01:23:44 It's not even close to on his radar. He's not. He doesn't know. We were on our way to the airport the other day and I had this hypothetical. I was like, would you switch lives with Patrick Reed right now from your current life? You get all the money. You get the play golf and all the tournaments that he's playing. You have to play and live.
Starting point is 01:23:59 But like you're him now. Like you. My only stipulation is or a question is whose brain do I get? Do I get my brain or do I get Patrick's brain? So when you made that point asking if it was your brain, it makes it too easy to. to switch with him because then your point of saying, like, I would just fix him and become the most likable guy ever is like way too easy. I think like, I think the real tough decision becomes like, would you switch lives with Patrick Reed? Do I have to cut off my family?
Starting point is 01:24:28 You're now him. Yeah, you're him. You're just like, you become him. And like, but you get my, my debate was like he probably lives an outrageously good life, regardless of all the drama in his professional setting. He, like, has all these like allegations of cheating the game of golf. Then like almost like when we look at our Twitter and we just put our phone down, Hatchik Green's life is insane. I mean, he's at Blue Jack National. He's flying around. He's got 10 houses.
Starting point is 01:24:53 He's got $150 million. I mean, it's not the worst life to switch with. But if anyone says no to it, that's how crazy of a person he is. Like to say, I'm giving all that up. Well,
Starting point is 01:25:04 if you get his brain, which in this one you do, it's like ignorance is bliss. If we're looking at his awareness level at zero. Then he's just like, I join Liv, you know, I maybe hurt.
Starting point is 01:25:14 some rummings that people didn't love that and then I but I got a 150 million dollars and I don't care about anything else like I if he has to be in the rider cup you had like an amazing like it's it's crazy that anyone would say no I think I may say no I don't know I I he's that crazy he's that I would definitely not he doesn't have any friends like he just I don't know it's not that's not that sweet having to cut off your family completely would be a tough pill to but if you're him he doesn't he doesn't care that's true I think he cares I think he cares I think he cares about the family piece. You gotta think so.
Starting point is 01:25:46 I don't know, man. He decided. I don't know. I will say it's really fun watching the most grounded superstar of this generation and of maybe of any generation, try to like manage the bear that is Patrick Reed. He's a bear. Watching Rory try to publicly manage what's going on with him.
Starting point is 01:26:02 And he's of course doing it flawlessly because he's roaring. He knows what he's doing. But you know like in his head he's like, I got to deal with this guy. And he said it. He was like, I'm living in reality. I don't know what Patrick Reed is living in. But just watching Rory kind of handle him just like, all right, he's throwing T's at me.
Starting point is 01:26:18 He's suing me on Christmas Eve. Like what, what have I done in my life to have to be the guy who deals with Patrick Reed? It's fucking great theater. Yeah. I mean, you got kicked off, you know,
Starting point is 01:26:28 college teams and people like cheating allegations. Then they win. Like, then they're really good. And they like win that Augustus. It's crazy. The guy, I,
Starting point is 01:26:39 it's not the worst life to switch with. I just wouldn't do it. But you're right. like if ignorance is bliss is something we're going by like switch it with him he wouldn't know that he doesn't have any friends he wouldn't know that like his right he's just kind of like winning golf tournaments and hitting shots and like identifying golf balls and trees that aren't his and like everything's fine it's like taking his PJ back from Dubai he's like collected a second place check he's you know who knows probably eating fucking sushi he's having a good
Starting point is 01:27:06 time justine loves me justine loves me to death she loves me crazy like makeup and like fighting sex all the time because like she's a lunatic they you know it's probably not the worst thing that's going on with him so yeah it's interesting he's a he's a great character man he's a he's a he's an a one character on the other side of the spectrum shout to max homa i don't know that you can have a better week really than max homa had he did the uh he did the 13th hole miced up walking down the fairway talking to trevor answering questions hitting golf shots and then does the thing on in the final round, which was Saturday because of football, where he's got his beautiful, like, Sea Breeze, baby blue pull over on.
Starting point is 01:27:50 He finally, he gets into contention when he's in contention. He pretty much wins. He answers everything phenomenally. He's the wins as a dad for the first time. He's got his white lace out there. He's got his kid. He's got his dad. His family's out there.
Starting point is 01:28:06 He's in Southern California, where he grew up. That's pretty much just a dream week for our guy Max home. The guy's a closer. Isn't there a crazy stat that when he's in like the top five, he just wins? Like he doesn't like finish in like third. He's never finished second in a tournament before. That's amazing.
Starting point is 01:28:25 So he's a closer, man. He's a, yeah. And he loves California. Holy shit. Loves California. And I think his journey is really is interesting. We, you know,
Starting point is 01:28:32 we hear about the slump and you hear about how he was the Twitter guy. But before that, he was an absolute stud at Cal. Like the guy won the 2013 Pac-12, which is at LACC, where the U.S. open is this year. He shot 61, which is still the record. He makes the Walker Cup that year. He finishes ninth in his first PJ tour event. He goes on the corned ferry tour, gets his card immediately, kind of loses it, and then he falls off the map completely. So I talked to Mark Blackburn,
Starting point is 01:28:57 who is his coach, about this. And Frankie, are you guys aware, and everyone, but, you know, Frankie because I feel like we've kind of discussed this with fixing Frankie. Are you familiar with imposter syndrome? No. So imposter syndrome is basically, you're not in your head? Yeah, I know what that Yeah. So it's basically this feeling that you're an imposter, that like I'm not good enough to be in this position and that everything that's happened that's gotten me to this position, I don't deserve it. And sooner or later, people are going to find out that kind of I'm a fraud and that I'm not actually quite as good as I am. When I'm staring at the ceiling at night, thinking about the Barstle classic credentialed at Augusta and us having a merch at the waste management, that's imposter syndrome. So Mark, so Mark and Max started working together right after the U.S. Open in September of 2020. So he had already won his first PJ tour event, but it was before all this winning happened. And him and him and Matt. Max talked a lot about imposter syndrome and Max feeling like he didn't deserve to be where he was. And this is what Mark told me.
Starting point is 01:29:50 And I think this is really kind of illustrates Max in a really special way. Anytime a player is willing to be vulnerable, you have a much easier chance of actually coaching them. In the 20 years I've been doing this with tour players, essentially the problem is most of them are not willing to be completely open about their insecurities and inadequacies. When someone is willing to let you in, you have to earn that. But he lets you in. That's one of the things that separates him from. a lot of people when he trusts somebody, he gives them the reins. That can be good or that can be bad. If it's bad information, it's very dangerous. And if the information is good, it's a coach's dream.
Starting point is 01:30:21 The thing that attracted me to him most was initially was the fact that he was quite stoic. He's been at the bottom and worked his way back. And that resiliency and that relentlessness, he has that word tattooed on his arm. I saw there was a lot of upside. I think he can be the number one player in the world. Wow. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. That's a scary place to live in where it's like you feel like everything is just you've been lucky to get there and at some point it's going to end and to be able to rein that in. I've had that feeling. I mean,
Starting point is 01:30:50 we probably all had that feeling at some point in their career where it's like things are going well and you're like, do I really deserve this or is this kind of just a confluence of lucky circumstances? And I think Max having been to the bottom like that and gotten away from it, now it's, it's freedom. Like once you escape that place, this is all just kind of gravy. Right. I remember when we first interviewed Patrick Harrington. on just a horrible long distance delay call.
Starting point is 01:31:15 It's just rigs and a second delay every conversation. I'm not going to get it exactly right, but he was saying something similar where it was like he didn't feel like he was good enough to be playing in the tournaments. And then he finished like 15th and he saw how much money that was. And he was like, oh, I can do this. Like even when I don't have my best game, if I finish 15th and I make, you know, $100,000, I can do this.
Starting point is 01:31:37 I don't have to win every tournament. You don't, to belong out there, you don't have to win every tournament. single tournament. Nobody does that unless you're Tiger. But if you're a guy like, if you're anybody else, you can go out there and you're not even your A game will get you a living and you can live and you don't have to have another job. That is like, it's very reassuring. And it sounds like Max went through that in like a big way. Yeah. It's incredibly interesting with him because I, you don't really get very often. I mean, you don't even really get it with with Rory. You don't get someone that could be as engaging with everyone on social media, especially.
Starting point is 01:32:11 which is where we see, you know, anytime he's engaging on social media, everybody sees it. And yet also be at the top of the game. And for whatever reason, for us as outsiders, spectators, it comes off like if you're on social media nonstop, then you're not practicing. Or you're not right. Whereas if someone's just invisible and then they come out and they win and they talk about hard they're working, you're like, oh yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I've heard from then a while. They must just be in the grind chamber forever and getting better and better. whereas like it's not that hard for Max to pull out his phone for 45 seconds and respond to two or three tweets and then and then work really hard on golf for the next two hours straight and then pull his phone out for another 90 seconds while I walks to his golf cart tweet a couple times which is pretty much what he does and so so it's funny like when you see him in contention when you see him walk and so stoically when you see him hit shot after shot exactly how he wanted to and then also considering that he did the interview that right like there's there's there's so much and we get so fed up
Starting point is 01:33:09 up with it, especially in golf. People take themselves so fucking seriously. And like they're too, they're too precious and their, their mindset and their, and their focus is too vulnerable to be interrupted. And insert, everyone's different. So that could definitely be the case. But like Max is like, not that hard for Max to put one headphone in to hit a golf shot. And then for that four minutes that he walks up to his second shot to just chit chat with Trevor and them because he's probably going to be chit chat with his playing partner, his caddy Joe anyways. And then focus in, hit the shot and then keep chit-chat. That wasn't that fucking hard for him.
Starting point is 01:33:40 That didn't change his life. That didn't change his shots. And it's not that hard for him to jump on Twitter after he wins or after his third round and fire off a couple funny tweets or talk about cool what is and then go to dinner with his wife. Like that's just how people fucking live nowadays. Yeah. And I think I'm really happy that he won because I'm very hopeful that those mid round
Starting point is 01:33:58 interviews are here to stay. And they needed, they needed someone to be the guinea pig. And Max is the perfect guy. Right. He's funny. He doesn't take himself too seriously. He's insightful. But the main.
Starting point is 01:34:07 reason that, because these have been a thing on the DP World Tour and the LPGA Tour, but the reason that they haven't gone, happened really on the weekend of the PJ Tour event is what you mentioned, Riggs, where guys are like, oh, my, it's too important during the competition. Well, Max just kind of poked a big hole in that by winning the damn competition, right? He won the golf tournament where he was the guinea pig and did that interview. So it was, that was really fantastic television. And CBS actually deserves a lot of credit. The broadcast was really, really good this week. And I, you know, anytime something new happens in golf right now, everyone, all the live, people are like, oh, this is because of live, this is because of live.
Starting point is 01:34:38 It might be. I mean, the live broadcast, they did try some new stuff. And it definitely put pressure, lit a fire under CBS and NBC being like, we got to step our shit up. I thought that AK camera that they were using all the time, you know, the one where the guy looks like he's in a video game was awesome. They had some really cool leaderboard graphics. And that mid-round interview and the, you know, the beneficiary here is the viewer who gets the benefit of the competition and the benefit of these innovations. So it was really fun watching it this week. And I'm hopeful that NBC when they get their chance there is going to roll out some stuff as well. Yeah, Trevor and Colt are great on there.
Starting point is 01:35:11 And you mix in them, you know, taking some swings with the interview with Max and real time, making them up. I agree. It was fantastic. You get Tori Pines, which is beautiful and films well and shows well on TV. It was really cool. Great tournament. I always think of Tori Pines is sort of for me, like the beginning of the real BJ tour.
Starting point is 01:35:30 Like they're in Hawaii and they're kind of putzing around and it's fun and there's whales and shit. But this is like when Tiger would always start his year and would be at Torrey Bind. So I kind of always framed the season of like, okay, this is the real tournament now because Tiger Woods is playing. And it's cool that it's still holding up that Tori. It's obviously a major championship venue, U.S. opens, all the history. And for Max Homer to go out there who's a Southern California kid and do it. It reminds me a little bit of like when Brooks Kepka was when there was all the pace of play controversy. And Brooks Kepka was like the fastest player on tour and still winning majors left and right,
Starting point is 01:36:01 where the fact that they were able to like, you know, be a little bit risky, Mike's somebody up and that person goes on to win. Anybody who bitches at them now, they can just be like, well, I mean, Max Homa did it and he won the tournament the week that he did it. So it's like,
Starting point is 01:36:13 who the fuck are you to say, no, you're finishing T-45, just put the goddamn headphone in your ear and talk to us for fucking five minutes, not that hard. So, so yeah,
Starting point is 01:36:21 I love it. I love the farmer's insurance. Congrats to them and the sponsor for a great week. It's awesome. Tor, great week. Max Homa is, yeah, I think he's one of the most likable athletes in sports at this point.
Starting point is 01:36:33 Sam Ryder, we love you, you know, not, not your week, but we got to know him a little bit at the 3M. We played nine holes with him. Great guy. Really a great guy. Was having a great week. Just, you know, couldn't finish it out. That happens. Happens all the time. We love you. We love your joggers. You're just like four inches of leg. Yeah, almost like seven, almost like 72 holes is the right amount of time for the best player to kind of emerge at the end. Seems like it's a good number. Yeah. Yeah, no, Sam Ryder. I was rooting for him. I wasn't rooting for him. I wasn't rooting
Starting point is 01:36:58 against Homa. I actually was super happy for Max I want to win, but we were watching Rom all week and Rom's like Rom's a freight train. He's just Yeah, I know. I know. There was a part of me that wanted Sam to win just because of like what we talked to him about at the 3M. Like, you know, he kind of is, he's more of an athlete than he is a golfer and the way he was describing his like process really resonated with me where he like really took all the athlete stuff and tried to morph it into his golf swing where he would just step up and hit and do all his pre-shot routine and he's walking
Starting point is 01:37:28 up to it and we play with brock nelson from the islanders in that same in that same group and they've become like pretty good buddies of like texting back and forth and messaging each other about clothing and wearing joggers on the course like prior to this like he's a gracing guy and like brock like that and then all of a sudden now his fucking joggers are on display for the whole world because of phil mickleson it was it was an interesting week for our guy sam rider but um it was one of those weeks also where it's like i've said this about golf it's like no matter who won we were going to be happy if it was max if it was sam if it was john rom we all would have been like yay like there's no teams in fucking golf so we're just like yeah no matter who wins but it's like it's crazy it was
Starting point is 01:38:06 it's funny because it was such a contrast to the Dubai tournament where it was like clearly there was a good yeah yeah yeah it's like if read would have won it would have been like fuck dude i mean i it would have been really interesting to see what the dp world tour like would have done how they would have handled that on their social media and stuff because these dp The live guys are playing on like a courtroom, you know, they went to court basically to be able to still play. The DP World Tour doesn't want them there. And this is one of their big Rolex series events. So it actually would have been crazy.
Starting point is 01:38:35 They don't want them there. They got to have them there, dude. You got to have them there. It makes it so much more interesting. Shout to Rory, too. Rory's, he won the first time that he's won his first. The Rolex series. Yeah, first time he's won his debut of the year.
Starting point is 01:38:49 Actually, first time he's won a Rolex series event, which is like the elevated events on the DP World Tour. We're not sure how that was his first, but third time he's won that tournament. And he heard us, he heard us saying that John Ron's best player in the world. And we were talking about this rigs. You were like, well, Rory, last time Rory was playing, he's the best player in the world. And then he plays. He makes his first start of the year and he wins. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:06 Rory really is like a, he's like a superhero for good. Usually things aren't that way. But it was like, Patrick Reed might win this tournament. And, and Roy's like, no, he's not. And he lost two holes. He lifts the box up and saves everyone's life. It's pretty incredible the way he's able to come through. And that birdie on 18 was a moment.
Starting point is 01:39:23 motherfucker. That was a wild ride. Yeah, because, dude, he's had, you know, for anyway, he doesn't know, to contextualize it a little bit. Last year, he was tied for the lead, came to 18. He obviously can reach this part five, but there's water. And he flared one into the water, made bogey and lost the tournament by a stroke. This year yesterday in round three, he was leading by four, came to 18, hit one in the water again and made bogey instead of a birdie to extend his lead.
Starting point is 01:39:51 Now he comes to 18, hits one. six inches from the water, lays up, and he said afterwards that he could have gone for it. He definitely had the distance to get there from that spot. But because of the last two incidents that I just mentioned, he decided to lay up. He hits a wedge to 15 feet, gives himself a put to win the tournament in Kansas. So really, really cool. Fact that we had Rom, who everybody, you know, because Rory was sitting out, basically, who feels like he's the best player in the world, win back-to-back weeks, and then almost win again this week.
Starting point is 01:40:19 And then you have Rory, who's been off for a few months, who finished the year on a tear to get to number one in the world comes out and wins his first event. It's like we clearly right now have two number one players in the world, I think. And as we kind of build up to, you know, we got the Phoenix Open, which is a, what is it? Designated event now they're calling it. Designated event is the term. Yeah, designated. It didn't like elevated because the other tournament's bitch that if those are elevated, what are we?
Starting point is 01:40:45 We're not. Subjugated. All right. So, yeah, we're underwater. What is it? A designated event is every. event that's not an elevated event. Do I have that clear? No, no. Designate event is the elevated event.
Starting point is 01:40:57 Oh, they changed the wording. Yeah. Yeah. They changed the new wording. Oh, I did not. I did not know that. Yeah. Okay. Because if something's elevated, I mean, something else is not elevated and that's not good. So if it's, so, so designated event coming up. And then we'll have the Florida swing. We'll get these guys going at it. Then it'll be Players Championship week before we know it. Masters, major after major. Uh, so yeah, it's a good fun time getting hyped up. Shout out to the farmers also for finishing on Saturday and making everyone think that there's something wrong with their brain. Like I got so many messages from buddies being like, what is it like they really looked at
Starting point is 01:41:30 their phones being like, what day is it right now when you're watching this guy hold of a trophy? And all the delays in Dubai that finished on Monday. It was like what's going on? Where are we? It is a holy shit. There's no way this is the final round Saturday moment when you're looking at your phone. But then you just remember Sarasier them do that. What is the player?
Starting point is 01:41:48 What are the players going to do with the fact that Camp Smith won last year? Like, are they just not going to show any footage? from last year's great question uh he lost his parking spot at t you know those guys aren't allowed to practice at tpc sawgrass that's where he used to play in practice they took his parking spot away so what are they gonna are they just gonna not acknowledge the 2022 players they're gonna like not imagine as if it was like a war year well well they released a video showing the top 10 shots at capilua the week before the week of the century and dustin johnson's the definitely the greatest shot in Capitol history where he almost hold out from 432 yards.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Yep. Just just wasn't in the video. Amazing. It's going to be, I will say it's going to be tough to not mention it. But I guess you can just not put it in anything. It's not like like Augusta's different where you got a guy putting a jacket on another guy. That's tough.
Starting point is 01:42:36 That would be tough to deny. But with this, I mean, you know, we sometimes we go to these venues like before. And the winner is usually just plastered all over the place. The big moments, their faces everywhere. They're sort of the ambassador that year for the tournament. You know, it's, it'll, they'll just have to put all those graphics away. They won't put it up. You have money.
Starting point is 01:42:55 Yeah. Uh, shout out to us. The four the cut bet hit again. Wow. Plus 800. Hell yeah. Fire right now. Plus eight hundred.
Starting point is 01:43:05 Yeah. We're 200. We're two and one in the, it was like plus four 25 and plus eight hundred. Um, so yeah, I don't know that you can really, that you can really beat that. Uh, we're going to do the four the cut bet again, uh, for the cut bet again, uh, for the Heble Beach pro am this week. This one's, I mean, this one gets killed because they have the Saudi event. And then obviously this is between farmers and the Phoenix Open.
Starting point is 01:43:30 So the field is not as strong as they would like it to be. But alas, there's several players and friends of the program that are out there playing. Our boy Josh Isner is out there playing. There's a bunch of celebs. I saw Josh Allen. So congrats to you, Alex Bush. Your guys, you know, going to be on TV competing just like you hoped he would this time of year. So he's going to be out there at the Pebble Beach pro am slapping it around.
Starting point is 01:43:53 He hits the ball a mile. So that's very exciting. But I'm going to take an easy choice. I'm going to go ahead and get off easy early. I'm going to take Kevin Kisner. Kevin Kisner is going to be my choice. This is his first tournament of the year. I know he was a little bit sick, so he didn't end up going to Hawaii.
Starting point is 01:44:09 But I think he's feeling good, feeling better. He came out to Scottsdale this last weekend. We were out of town so I didn't get to see him. But to gear up, warm up. And then he's going out to Pebble. He's a little bit of a bold choice because he hates Pohanna Greens, hates him. But obviously, Pabell, he always plays Pabell. I think he's got his boy, his partner there that he loves to play with.
Starting point is 01:44:29 So I'm going to take Kevin Gisner. Just quick math, just a little math. If you put $20 on the first three for the cut bets, you'd be up $230 right now. So there you go. How nice is that? I'm going to take Kevin Strealman. We obviously, we talked to Larry Fitzgerald about how Kevin Strelman just absolutely loves this golf tournament. He's a killer.
Starting point is 01:44:48 I think he's finished in the top five a number of times. So I'm going with Kevin Strelman. I got to think he's playing with Fits again this week. Larry Fitzgerald. So we're going Kevin Strelman. I mean, his odds, let me see what his odds are at. They got to be way low.
Starting point is 01:45:00 Oh, yeah. I like Streeles, man. He bought me a dollar in a club one time. Is that what that is? What are you looking at? Plus, yeah, plus 10,000. So that's all right. 100 to 1.
Starting point is 01:45:11 That's going to help. Taryn when I picked him last week, I think his number was pretty big. Also, at make the cut. At 80 to 1. one we got calum taren that's who i'm going with we're going to keep this three m we're going to keep this three m um for some group that we played with strong and on a hot streak here obviously sam rider played well calom taren it's his week this week to make the cut for sure calum taren i still have him and sam rider both starred in my the score app from the time that we played with them we were keeping up
Starting point is 01:45:43 with Callum because he needed to like finish a certain spot to keep his tour card for the next year and he did so that I'm really excited for him this year I'm riding him at the AT&T. I'm going to do a very familiar name to this podcast. I'm going to do Joel Damon. I think that'll be our fourth. I don't know. We'll just see. I hope hopefully he plays well. It's just got to make the cut. We're not asking anything crazy. Just everybody make the cut. What did he say? I love it. I'm breaking 90 video. He said if you break 90, that's great. And if you don't, just have a beer. That's what I do. there you go that's sage advice from Joel damon just have a beer so we got Joel damon calum tairn uh Kevin Kisner and Streelman Stephen streelman I think Kevin streelman the man of streel so check that out for the cut you go to exclusives on the bar school sports book app uh you might have to hit more exclusives after that but anyways it'll be bet with four play for the cut again we're uh we're hot we hit a plus 425 we lost the next week And then we hit a plus 800. We're back with Kiz, Streels, Kalim Terran, and Joel Damon this week.
Starting point is 01:46:46 And then last thing before I throw it to Trotty, which is a fantastic conversation that we have. He's hilarious, as always. We love Trotty is a giveaway. We're teaming up with Taylor Made, our good, close personal friends over there. We're celebrating the launch of the new Stealth 2, Fargiveness, by giving away two prizes to two different followers. The prizes include a grand prize of a Stealth 2 driver and a Stealth. Stealth 2 hybrid or Stealth 2 Fairway Wood of your choice. That's a grand prize, stealth 2 driver.
Starting point is 01:47:16 Plus, you could either get a hybrid or a stealth 2, fairway wood of your choice. We're giving away to two different followers. Giveaways, giveaways, these clubs are fantastic. They're the best. Roy McElwerews using them. Tiger Woods obviously uses it. This is what they do.
Starting point is 01:47:30 They've been stealth. They've been stealth two. They got all the new gear, whether it's the three wood, the hybrid. You saw Nellie Korda. You saw Brooke Henderson. The best players are using this stuff. That's what Taylormade does.
Starting point is 01:47:42 We're using it. You're going to use it and you can win. You go to Taylormaygolf.com slash barstool sweeps to enter and celebrate the launch that combine the elements of distance and forgiveness to unlock fargiveness. Again, go to Taylormadegolf.com slash barstool sweeps. Taylormade.com slash barstool sweeps right now, enter your chance to win and make this golf season better. That's giving away to two followers, grand prize, Stealth 2 driver.
Starting point is 01:48:09 Plus, you get the stealth two hybrid or stealth two Fairway Wood of your choice. We're going to discuss those clubs and much more with our very good friend Trotty. Hit it hard. Hit it hard. Hit it hard. All right, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, or anybody who's non-binary, we're hanging out. We've done that on shows before. You got caught a trap doing that.
Starting point is 01:48:34 Frankie got trapped worse than me, but you trap yourself with it. We're trying to be anybody out there that's listening. Inclusive. We're talking to you. That's why you're listening. We're at an amazing venue here. We're at the Kingdom at Taylormane. We got Chris Trott.
Starting point is 01:48:48 Trott has joined us. We're just talking about actually airplanes and how I watch plane crash documentaries and stuff. We're talking about when people turn their phone on, I guess it would be airplane mode. Yeah. Now they have a legit mode for it. And we were saying,
Starting point is 01:49:04 I do it when Lurch does it, which is when your plane's about 500 feet in the air. I do it. I do it when the plane starts to pick up speed to take off. off. I hit airplane. Frankie never does it. No, I just keep it on. So you think at 10,000 feet you're still looking for...
Starting point is 01:49:19 Sometimes I get a little ping here and there. Something they'll hit. I'm with you. I do it when it's like 500 feet in the air because I want to, like, the last text message that you send is kind of, it's kind of electric when it goes through. Yeah, exactly. And then you're done. Plus, I like to keep the chance that if we do go down, I can fire one more off. You ever think about the last text you send?
Starting point is 01:49:36 Yeah. Yeah. I do all the time. Like, that's a good one. Or a bad one. Yeah, true. And that way your heads out. True.
Starting point is 01:49:42 Yeah. But yeah. Like potentially the last text you'll ever send. Yeah, I just be like a morbid way. I'm in a morbid way. I'm with you in a morbid way. Yeah, I am. I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:49:51 That could be it. Yeah, I'll just be like, oh, like, you know, about to take off, love you. Yeah. Talk to you when I get down. It's like, man, that's going to be really sad. Sad and morbid when they read that and they know that they're at my funeral. Yeah. See you when I get down and you just.
Starting point is 01:50:04 You text people that every time you fly? Certain people. I still text my mom when I land. Crazy part is it's like the safest thing you'll do all day. Like I Googled golf. crashes there's 13,000 golf cart crashes a year. What do you mean golf cart crash? What constitutes like a
Starting point is 01:50:18 fatal crash? I was looking into that. Yeah, there's some there, I think there's a good section of them that are fatal though, but I don't know the percentages. Like imagine if you just every time we play golf, you just said like Yeah, I mean the amount of Muppets messing around in golf carts is I can see playing travel is so sad. Could be it. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:50:34 like every time you get like back into your car from your golf cart, you're like text your mom like I did it. We did it. We did it. We did it. Pull seven. We're back in the car. Love you.
Starting point is 01:50:43 She'd get a hundred and seven texts. I got back to the car. Great job. I was thinking about the last tweet that I sent more than the last text. Wow. Like what's my lasting legacy with public life? Wow. Could you know what?
Starting point is 01:50:53 A pod promo? This is five. Listen to our podcast. I died the next day. Yeah. This one's actually really good. Really better go. We'd probably get some bumps on that podcast.
Starting point is 01:51:03 A lot of people. There will be a last tweet. Yeah. There's a last everything for you. Everything has a finite number. You just don't know it. Like you will have a final tweet. What will that be?
Starting point is 01:51:12 It's not up to me. My kids were asking about Kobe Bryant the other day. Yeah. And then obviously, the Instagram, and it's like, the guys, obviously, and you're just like, oh, no. You know what I mean? Because the guy's legend, and I even know that being from where I'm from. And it's deep.
Starting point is 01:51:27 That was about as shocking and, like, took your, stopped you in your tracks of a celebrity death that I think I, I was exactly two years ago. I was going to say, Tori lines. I was here. I was next to the 80s. I was next to the eighth green at Torrey Pines it was on Sunday
Starting point is 01:51:43 and I got a text from a friend being like Kobe died and you're just like no he didn't remember Tiger didn't know the whole round and then Joey they caught him on camera being like hey Tiger I'm about like I'll tell you I watch Brian died and he goes excuse me he does he stops and he turns he goes excuse me yeah we've talked to Joey when we've
Starting point is 01:51:58 golfed with him about that moment he said it's like the hardest that he's had to like try and keep his composure of like when are you going to tell Tiger he's in the middle of the tournament people are screaming it at him and he's like confused as to what's happening and yeah I think it couple times he looked at Joey being like, what are they saying? And he's just like, I don't know. And then someone came over and told him
Starting point is 01:52:14 him, and Joey actually tells him like right when he found out. You know what I mean? Like, Joey found out later too. Oh, I thought he knew for most of the round. Not the whole round out of thing. Because I don't think he could have kept it from too long. He told him after the game, didn't he? Told him after, yeah. Golfers were shaken up. I remember doing interviews afterwards, and they were all really shook. Yeah, that one was, that was shakeworthy.
Starting point is 01:52:31 I mean, that was, that was, but he had to tell him because he's about to get asked on TV. And imagine that being his first time finding out. Helicopters are no good. I'm not doing. to Ballionis being like... Not a helicopter fan. No. Planes can glide.
Starting point is 01:52:43 Right. Yeah, that's the big thing. There's a glide viral. There's a glide hope. I think a chopper. We've got to fly like all over the country, so... I mean, I fly. Try to, how you've been?
Starting point is 01:52:51 You've been good? Try to have a question for you. I've been good. I have a real question for you. A helicopter question. What's your favorite Harry Potter movie? We're not. You know, I'd never watch any of them and I don't need to by hanging out of you.
Starting point is 01:53:01 Your kids? Your kids aren't into Harry Potter? Yeah, we did a couple of books, but there's a lot of... It's like a documentary for your homeland. You think it is And then we go through the homeland And you're on it every time Disrespect
Starting point is 01:53:11 You know what I think about Edinburgh was like the coolest place I've ever gone to Edinburgh is pretty damn legit To be fair The castle is immense That's what I like as a dumb American I just think of like Old World Europe as Edinburgh
Starting point is 01:53:25 Like everything that looked Everything it looked like We went to an old school bar We had to hold Hang on you still don't say it right Edinburgh Edinburgh Edinburgh
Starting point is 01:53:34 Like stop going to be a room Edinburgh Edinburgh Edinburgh It's like Pittsburgh Edinburgh Edinburgh. Edinburgh.
Starting point is 01:53:38 Better. Like, Scottish people will kill me. You've got to get it. Edinburgh. That's better, yeah. Somebody was telling me, I think, like, when the queen died, that they brought her to Edinburgh to that castle that we were out. She's major connections with Scotland and Royal Miles for sure, yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:52 There's a whole underground world over there, too, right? With the royals, I mean, I'm not a big royalist, so I don't want to niche them, but I would imagine so, yeah. Isn't there a whole underground kind of war? I don't think it's like the tube in London, but yeah, there's a whole underground system going on. I would imagine. travel long week in Vegas I mean we're really get the royals and me I'm not sure
Starting point is 01:54:10 that's the right place yeah they don't like you up there right I mean you know I've left the country I'm living here with you we get a lad on the show and we just start throwing all these yeah all these questions that you've had for the last six weeks he's back out of the camera view after Frankie's comment he just slid out of frame which is like oh man
Starting point is 01:54:29 all right well let's how's the golf games first boys how's the golf games after scotland I saw rigs hit and balls here that's why you're here I mean for a minute let's look over rigsy's shoulder how good is that it's for me one of the best views in golf tailor-made kingdom to get to do this with you boys pretty mint we've got our shades on because it's uh it's a tough view but it's hell of a view and riggs he's hitting it good guys I don't know how you boys on the at the king there's some two 90s I heard some two 90s yeah I had one 299 I got
Starting point is 01:55:00 one up to 2 94 and then we were like six is a lot six yards a lot to find found three more but I couldn't get all the up there but yeah I was hitting really good. Troddy got me pretty dialed in there. We moved quick, didn't we? And that's a thing, like, with fitting and with amateurs, you got to move quick, and we move quick, and we got you in the good stuff. My driver's great. We were hitting a good. You changed something in my irons, my shaft.
Starting point is 01:55:18 Is that the situation? We're going to go a little lighter in the golf shaft. We're also going to go a bit more upright. Look, you have the move of coming a little over it, as we all do. I do, Lurch, you definitely got that. They're coming over it. He's a nasty old fella. If we go a little more upright in those irons,
Starting point is 01:55:33 turf interaction was beautiful. I mean, you can even look out over there, He alert your shoulder, Riggs has hardly damaged the floor, boys. I mean, it's impressive. It's clipping him. He is, and he's using the ground, and he's turning, and it was really impressive. And I get it, the loyalists who watch are, like, what are you talking about? Riggs's sucks on a golf course.
Starting point is 01:55:50 What I'm looking at here, Riggs, this is the year, buddy. Like, I need to see something out of it. A year, baby. There's a little personal. I mean, let's call Spade for Spade. You were nasty out of the gate, right? To Riggs in space. You said it's been two years, and we're still doing this.
Starting point is 01:56:04 Because it's good. You were mad about the tea height. The tea height was upsetting. I saw that you took a clip out of that and used it from your Scotland take, and I'm like, these fuckers best fucking listens to this shit now, because they're using clips of it. And I get it, and he's teeing it down as if he's hitting low stingers. I'm like, what are he doing, buddy?
Starting point is 01:56:19 Like, let's see the high scent. And then we had a conversation about shaking hands with the target. It's just the same shit I've said to him, but a different way. And I feel like it kind of clicked. I was hitting out to the right. My path went from like minus four or five to plus one or two at one point. So it was great for me. I want to talk about the driver.
Starting point is 01:56:36 We're here to talk about the driver. Stealth 2. Obviously, stealth 1 last year, the OG stealth. Carbon wood age. The whole thing's different. We're going from, obviously, from wood to metal to carbon, a whole different deal. Now we've got the stealth 2, the far given. Tiger had a great, great clip where he talked about how he hit it way out on the toe,
Starting point is 01:56:55 and it was like a millimeter out on the toe from the dead center of the face, which I loved. Talk to me about the new stealth too. The absolute best thing about this, right? And this is the best thing about being here at Taylor Made, within, you know, 500 yards of us, you've got the main building. And to be fair, I get to talk about golf and I get to talk about tailor-made. And I'm very lucky in that sense. But behind what I do, be it the content crew that we can't quite see here,
Starting point is 01:57:16 who always arrange these amazing days for us, or be it the R&D people over there in that building, there is some unbelievable minds, okay, unbelievable. And they've gone away, listen to the best players in the world. We've got the best crew, Colin Marikawa, Tiger Woods. We've been talking about them already. These guys are all tailor-made. you're getting feedback from them.
Starting point is 01:57:35 Now look, we're taking feedback from you boys as well, but when you take feedback from the best players in the world and you give it to these engineers, they make a little tweak. The bottom line is, and we can talk until we're all blue in the face about this new club, if you don't hit the center, it gives you more speed. We did a bit of content with you, boys. That was evident. That was actually crazy.
Starting point is 01:57:53 I mean, I let you take over right now, buddy, because you didn't hit the middle of the face. The video is going to look like one huge advertisement, as if we're like trying to show off how forgiving the club is. we legitimately didn't hit one ball on the center of the club face. I think people are going to believe that we didn't hit the center of the face. Right, but I'm saying like it legitimately, the ball went straight with a lot of speed. It was nuts.
Starting point is 01:58:13 It works. It works. It actually works. Or the heel, it just works. Like, I hit toe heel and both were in the middle of the fair way. It almost made me feel bad. Like that shouldn't work. Well, Regs, we were talking about when Tiger talks about how all the advancements and technology, like leveled the playing field.
Starting point is 01:58:27 That's exactly what he's talking about. He was the only one hitting it in the middle of face was going far. the shots that we hit off the toe 30 years ago would have spun into marketing and you know what at the photo shoot with him i know you boys were there on a different set so we went through that same exercise with him and he said to me couldn't get close to that set i think taylor made maybe had me dressed in some daft outfit we're trying to soften this whole thing and i'm obviously there spraying this spray and doing the coin deal he's looking at me like i'm some sort of muppet and i'm like listen mate i need you to he's right i'm like i need you to hit away from
Starting point is 01:58:58 the center and he looks at me in disgust he's like what are you And he's like, you want me to not hit the middle. And I've obviously got the headphones in and Big T, Tyler, from our place is like, just look him and tell him, tell him, yep. And Tyler's a big guy as well. Like, I'm not going to go against Tyler and I'm obviously not the biggest. And I'm like, I got to see you. I got a tee.
Starting point is 01:59:17 I'm like, yeah, I want you to miss the middle. He looks at me again and goes, this game is stupid. I'm like, all right, mate. Like, that's what we're doing, though. And we're doing it for the camera. And then he's obviously Tyler's jeering me up going, keep on him, Trotty. Keep on him. I'm like, Jesus.
Starting point is 01:59:31 Put your head further on the tiger's mouth. Exactly. That's what I'm. And you boys know me. Like, if I get someone who's firing me up a little bit, like I'm obviously firing up myself because I live my life at five foot six. And then I got Tyler in my ear going, you tell him, you didn't.
Starting point is 01:59:45 I'm like, I'm on it, Tyler. I'm on it. And it's like, we've got some great content. But to me to tell the guy, you got to miss the middle of the club, he was disgusted. He almost spewed on me. He's like, what are you doing? Idiot. You're a moron.
Starting point is 01:59:57 You idiot. And I'm like, yeah, fair. You want me to miss the middle of the camera. Exactly. It's for the content, baby. And he missed it by a fucking pubic hair. Yeah, it was a pubic hair as well. That was he was probably one and done too.
Starting point is 02:00:08 He probably didn't want to do it again. Yeah, because he's obviously on a shot count as well. And he's so disciplined in what he does. And, you know, all these athletes are. Like, honestly, boys, it sounds so bad. But I have a great gig right now. And I'm doing a lot of stuff with athletes. Content is now king.
Starting point is 02:00:21 Trent and I were talking about it a little bit with Gareth Bale here, hitting balls. But being a football guy, soccer, football. It's a big deal, you know, and he's hitting ball. and I'm trying to help him out. And we went through a moment that Taylor Madele make some great content with. And I was talking to he used to take some free kicks for Rail Madrid. Boys, it means nothing to you.
Starting point is 02:00:37 It's like the best team in the second world. I know what free kicks are. I know what Real Madrid is. I heard your podcast and you were saying, what's it called when you get over the halfway line? They'd take the midpoint of the field. And I'm like, Jesus Christ, God. 2026, we're coming.
Starting point is 02:00:50 Yeah. Well, next World Cup podcast. I need to be in your podcast for the next World Cup in four years time because some of the lingo you were coming out with was way off. footy, off the woodwork. So anyways, freaking bail was stood there, and he's talking about curling around the wall.
Starting point is 02:01:06 If you hit the post, they go, oh, it says off the woodwork. The wall is the defenders who stand and you spin him around. He's talking about it. He's visualizing it. And you can see him going into it. I mean, it was a cool moment, into his internal psyche, thinking about free kicks. He's hit in the best stadiums in the world.
Starting point is 02:01:19 And I just said to him, I let him talk. It finished. And I said to him, mate, you need to get into that space, but for golf shots. Because what you're doing right now is you just hitting balls into the abyss. focus on a target, dial it in, and then he goes, well, I really play well at Pebble Beach, and he starts to describe one of the holes to me at Pebble Beach,
Starting point is 02:01:36 where he hit great shots. Next thing, you know, 180 ball speed, which is five mile an hour more than Lurchy Boy. Well, less than five, but yeah. Yeah, 4.7. But it's impressive, these athletes, guys, it's so... You know what I mean? It's insane.
Starting point is 02:01:53 Tell me about the technology behind the more forgiveness, because the big selling point, obviously the stealth had the ball speed. And we talked about a bunch of guys that weren't even contracted with Taylor May that were using the stealth because the carbon, the ball speed. It's coming out hot. Everybody loved it. Rory drove the ball better than anybody's ever during the ball ever using it. Now the new iteration, stealth too, more forgiveness. Is that correct?
Starting point is 02:02:15 Yeah. More carbon as well. So they don't make more carbon. More carbon. So it's a lighter face, more carbon. So now what you're doing and there's a carbon composite ring on the back, which you call that red ring. Basically, in the Stealth Plus, it's black. I understand that some people get a bit like,
Starting point is 02:02:30 this is all just total BS, it's marketing beer. It's not lighter. Whenever you give an engineer savings of weight, what they then do is they move it around the head to put it in a position that benefits you, the golfer. Behind that twist face, the face has changed a little bit too. So if you squeeze one out a little bit low or a heel or a toe, you get more speed.
Starting point is 02:02:50 You'll miss, to be fair, sometimes a little bit low. And you get some speed down, like your speed maintains there. So we're talking about decent player And then we move all the way to Trent Who did the forgiveness test I mean great shots Yeah they were great To banging for fun
Starting point is 02:03:03 You're loving the driver I really do love it I use it in the LPG LPGA event we played in And it was like a godsend I think is people listening to this And listening to me Might be the gloss over it
Starting point is 02:03:14 Like Frankie's texting He yawns every time We get on the freaking podcast I think I'm boring the shit out of him He's a guy who maybe doesn't listen to this It is true I think we should play it all back From the Scotland ones
Starting point is 02:03:22 It granted very jet lagged That first one in Scotland But he's gone. He's texted. He's gone. I get it. I look, do you go to you. That's all right, mate. Don't worry. But the bottom line is you, it balls. You're not doing show research.
Starting point is 02:03:33 Is that what you're saying? I look on Twitter all the time. The fuck's happening right now. What the fuck is happening right now? Just get in the room, baby. Get in the room. Get in the room. Get in the room.
Starting point is 02:03:44 Put it on an airplane mode. No, what are you nuts? I just look through. The bottom line is, Frankie, you're going to get your ardage. And you're that consumer that switches off. Doesn't care. He's done. He's still texting it.
Starting point is 02:03:54 He's done. You know what I mean? Right. Last time we missed that fucking roar, he got a tea thrown at him like it was a nuclear bomb from Patrick Reed, so like I'm just trying to see if something anything happens. This is where we are right now. Live your moment now, big guy. Oh my God. I love that. That's California
Starting point is 02:04:07 for you. Exactly. It's wearing off on me. This highly stretched Englishman is calm. It's because you live in San Diego. Look at this place. What fantasy. It is nice. The weather is just lovely. I'm upset with those divvits there. I was hitting ball. That was bail. No, it wasn't. Yes, it was. It wasn't. He's the little group
Starting point is 02:04:25 left. He's not that big, wide group. Like, that's someone who's not good. That was not me. Bail, brother, I'm a divot-studier for sure. You can judge someone's handicap within how many shots by looking at their divots? I mean, you can judge it, obviously, by the way, to walk in, but I am a divot study. I don't know if I can get it. I don't know if I can get it down to an absolute art of just their handicapped.
Starting point is 02:04:46 Because they might have a good short game, you know? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Like, you're a great potter. Who's got your favorite divots on tour of the tailor-in-old guy? Colin? Tiger. Just a clip you can.
Starting point is 02:04:55 It's unbelievable. How good does his body work in order to have that? Cool dollar bills. Nothing, but you go and watch him hit balls on some of the ranges as well when you get in Germany. Or I've seen him all over the world. Yeah. So you get sandy rangers in Dubai. You go to Germany where it's just a little worm castie or a bit shite.
Starting point is 02:05:10 The grass just isn't great. And it's just like, clip, clip, clip. Yeah. I just like this guy's unbelievable. Remember that video that came out a couple years ago? Yeah. Just the close-ups. I think that was also a Tory.
Starting point is 02:05:19 I think that was Tori too, yeah. I mean. That's pretty good, though. But then you see how well the clubs are dialed. You see how well the players are dialed. person moves and look sadly I'm a deep divot builder but I mean I'm not I mean what's happening there Lurch
Starting point is 02:05:30 That looks like something I would do it. I'm not talking about you are a deep dig it built You see yours just down there So I was I was I was intrigued by your work with Lurch today because Lurch hits them all far yeah yeah it's a pretty damn good good ball striker And yet you had some serious issues it felt like with the
Starting point is 02:05:48 fundamentals I think he was just hard on for 175 I don't think you care about me all you care about seeing 175 on that screen You want the truth about my opinion of you. I think you're the heart of a lion. I think you want to win all the time. And you're very competitive. And I like that.
Starting point is 02:06:02 I like all of them. Yeah, I was going to say, it's a big butt. That was like, big butt. Let me hold you so I don't fall off my seat. I like everything that you're doing, which is why I actually like your company. But it's like, you just do it your way. And like, your way is inefficient. Stubborn.
Starting point is 02:06:16 And as a golfer and Trent and I were talking about like where my life is at now with content and stuff, I want to see someone doing it the right way. Yeah. I want to see you getting the most out of you. Not inefficient shite. Well, I will say, I haven't had, I've had two, three lessons my whole life. So I do do it my way. But I will say most things I just do it in my way.
Starting point is 02:06:35 But even Rixie's listening. It's been a tough, not to crack. No, he is. It's been two years, and he came back to get the same shites. You were furious. I saw a proper golf action today. Look at the divvits. Yeah, it was very pure.
Starting point is 02:06:47 Proper. He was proper today. I can't speak high enough about him. I've been around this crap for flipping 20 years. Your divvits. The first. My first effort with the difference was I took two swings basically and I had to move to a different spot. You're just digging trades out.
Starting point is 02:07:00 You know what I'm saying? Yeah. I'm like, oh, gosh. I'm getting redog all the time. It's not like it's, you go to Carnoustie or where, obviously these boys know, I love Carnus. You go there. You go to an old school Scotland track and the turf is so tight that when you strike a club properly, the ground moves. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:16 It sounds like that's pure. That's pure. Hoy Lake will give you that. Hoy Lake next year, boys, you just get near Tiger hitting balls or Rory and he. it's like a boom and you stand there and you're like oh this to be fair lurch has gotten pretty far with his doing it his own way because he's talented and he's got a big heart
Starting point is 02:07:32 right you know what I mean he loves your heart he loves your heart I would take you every day on my team I love it because you would run through walls for the team he's so big as a person he has a bigger heart I just think he's into it he doesn't care he's going to win he wants more out of me
Starting point is 02:07:48 you're not happy with where I am because I think you could be better I said you quietly I said you quietly I go, sorry boys. I go to him quietly. I said, mate, I said, you got to play with some better players. Like,
Starting point is 02:08:01 you've got to raise the bar. That's what I said to me. Sorry, boys. That's fucked up. I was like, dude, you got to raise the bar. Danny's here. That's good.
Starting point is 02:08:09 You guys, you got to hang out a bit more. We're best friends. We'll say that move. But I've seen that, though. He's competitive. He's good. And this is driving you on.
Starting point is 02:08:17 That's what I, these boys are all chill. And like, this is your competitive. He's competitive as fuck. He is. But he also. These guys are competitive that they want to go.
Starting point is 02:08:26 Because a lot of times on camera or whatnot, we're like... You're making content. Well, right. We're entertaining to a degree. Trust me, I hate... You're just on like a buddy's trip. It's like, if I lose, I won't talk to somebody for two days. But I love that shit.
Starting point is 02:08:37 But it's like, that's the problem of the world I'm in right now. It's like some of this stuff, you get the cameras and you got to do jazzy, jazzy, and let's do this and let's hit that shaft. And it's like, let's get you better at golf. Comments you make are the best. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. I got it all. I had some guy here last night.
Starting point is 02:08:50 great guy, but he wanted to try a black and gold shaft. Why are we doing this? What does that mean? He was black and it was gold. He just liked the colors. Great guy, good player. Two colors. Let's try, let's scratch the itch.
Starting point is 02:09:03 Obviously, my job is running through the fitting. We must scratch the itch. But the truth is, you don't need the black and gold shaft, buddy. Sounds pretty cool, black and gold. And I get it, and it's a YouTube play. And the guy was a lovely guy, so I'm not hating on the guy. It's just, let's get you better at gold. People love looking down.
Starting point is 02:09:19 You're really concentrating now. This guy's burning holes. Get back on your phone. Chill out. You're making me nervous. I'm just looking at your phone. I got nothing to add right now. I wanted to actually ask about that,
Starting point is 02:09:34 the Micah, because Micah and Grant just signed on with... Lovely guys. Yep. From Good Good, they've signed on with Taylor Made now they're doing their own thing. What?
Starting point is 02:09:41 Not good good anymore. I know. I said from Good Good, everybody. Wow. Let's talk about Micah. I'm just taking grenades from every single fucking... This is insane. I want to get into that.
Starting point is 02:09:49 Mike, a good player. Dude, the guy was launching a 330 carry. I don't understand why he's making YouTube videos. 330 carry? What were his numbers? He was 195 ball speed at one point, 140 feet on the apex. I've got up my phone's inside. 140 feet on the apex.
Starting point is 02:10:04 Land angle was a little steep. Spin rate was low, but launch was high. So he's like 14, 1800. And just, we're talking 350. And it was cruisy, right? It wasn't like he was cruising. Yeah, it was like he was swing hard. He has more in the tank.
Starting point is 02:10:16 So, boys, I had to put him in the back right corner and we had to hit. See this, don't look. now you blind yourself, but there's three palm trees that you can just see the silhouette. I had to aim him at that. That is diagonal across the kingdom because we don't have space from to hit balls. And the great, the awesome thing is
Starting point is 02:10:30 he did not hit one that was like each side was in play on a lot of balls. And then he started to get some pace up, which I get it when making a YouTube video, do your pace thing, you do you. So then I'm like, I fit him. No, no, no, just going after it and picking up the speed a little bit.
Starting point is 02:10:46 And then I backed him off a bit and was like, let's figure one, 265. Let's fit you for a goddamn, like, tournament driver. But it was very, very impressive. To the point where I understand you like making YouTube videos, but I said to the dude, I'm like, can you not trip apart? He must not be able to. Because you're walking onto a PGA tour tea,
Starting point is 02:11:05 and analytically, you are a stroke and a half ahead of everyone else before you even play over four days. You know that. What was his answer? What was his answer? He just said, I'm not a great potter, and I was like, you must be like, figure it out, my goodness. You must be like 30 times worse than I.
Starting point is 02:11:18 Yeah, I'm not a great. Potter either, but like if I was putting for you, we'd be golden. And then Grant comes up and Grant's a lovely kid as well. And obviously, it's a, it's a strategy. It's a whole way of making the video and making people stay engaged for it. I get it. I'm all around it. But it was a hard act to follow for him.
Starting point is 02:11:35 And he's a good, he was second. He's a very good player. Yeah. But a hard act to follow. Anyway, and the guy was a 165-4 speed. Like, he's cruising. Kevin Kisner follows, Mike. It's like a nobody, like compared to those stats.
Starting point is 02:11:47 And Kisner beats him by 12. Right. Honestly, boys. Isn't that, Mike? lad i'm like i he's out driving kids by a hundred yards he's like crazy i get at the point though where i know he's making youtube videos from the last week i've watched a lot of it and i get it i wasn't a big good good fan before maybe i will be look you know my journey with barstool i didn't used to listen or or but now
Starting point is 02:12:06 i'm every freaking week on the podcast when i'm walking the dog and i'm listening and i'm up to date what you're doing i'm laughing maybe i'll go the same way but the point is if i was him i would honestly leave here like this is great i'm very successful on you YouTube. Kids love following me. It's brilliant. And I said to him, do you not, like, is there not a piece of you that wants to win trophies? Because you are honestly... Well, does he feel like he can do both?
Starting point is 02:12:28 I don't know. He's close, though. That's insane. There's no one of these. That's really cool. I'm telling you what I saw there, he is very good. Wow. Very good. And I, you know me. I am a harsh, I am a harsh critic.
Starting point is 02:12:42 Yeah. And he is good. You told me I suck when I got here. You can take it. He's good. He's really good. So the point where I didn't want to finish the content. I wanted to keep and I wanted to,
Starting point is 02:12:53 and we were running out of light and I wanted to go and see the potter fitting and I wanted to be like, what is wrong? Like he's using the black mill grind three wedges that feels a bit harder. So obviously he's there, he's using the wrong ball.
Starting point is 02:13:03 We changed the golf ball. Like, how have you not figured this out as a player? How are you, what are you looking for? Like what's going on? Right. How are you using the wrong ball? How are you just in this YouTube world, but you have so much.
Starting point is 02:13:15 And if he ever listens to this, I'm not knocking him. It was a privilege to work. It's a compliment. I'm just like, what are you doing? It gave me the chills. That's how much of a compliment. It's really good.
Starting point is 02:13:24 I've also, I've heard those two dudes are like the nicest guys. Lovely guys. Maybe too nice to hang out with me, but nice guys. You're a little, you're a bitter. You're a little Lurch and Frankie is he texts and he calls me an arselled. Exactly. My favorite line you've ever said. Just come from a gray, cloudy place.
Starting point is 02:13:40 Exactly. I got it wrong. It's the best. I got it wrong. I went to school. Came to the state. School wasn't for me. I got it wrong left.
Starting point is 02:13:48 wrong boys my favorite is when when he noticed when when trotty noticed that the service was going to be just a tad too slow in a restaurant and he goes boys we better make a decision now or else we're going to be stuck here all night he goes we're currently getting it wrong we're all sitting there he goes we're currently getting it wrong right now you're right your antenna's always up yeah man always up he's got to watch you back haven't you i lived in asia for a while like you got to watch what's going on like you're in the middle of an engaged conversation you just go, all right, uh, something's happening here. I need to let you guys know we're getting wrong. And we're going to need to correct it right now or we're fine. So what's the crack for this year? Can you tell me anything about what you boys are doing? Like, am I going to try and get Taylor made to get me on a trip with you this year? Like, what's going on?
Starting point is 02:14:32 Oh, yeah. We got to, we have to set something up. I heard some whispers of, uh, of a really cool country for golf that we might be going to this year with, with Taylor made. Really? I got to get in on that. Tyler. Or a really cool part of the country. Yeah, me and you, Tyler.
Starting point is 02:14:46 We're in on this. Tyler's got to come to this one. I want a headpiece with you in my ear, Ging me up. That story is so funny. That is. I got to tell him what. When we do another one, though, you have to make sure that two times are okay so that SIE doesn't have to go out and play another 18 holes of golf at 10 o'clock at night like he did in Scotland.
Starting point is 02:15:03 That was insane. He kept playing the 18. We kept watching him and saying, can you make par? Oh. Yeah, that's the pay. I'll pay them. I'll pay them right now. I don't even remember.
Starting point is 02:15:14 I'll pay you. How much was it? Pay the man. 50 bucks. What a guy I am. 50 Scottish or 50? What the guy I am. I paid him.
Starting point is 02:15:22 Did you pay him? I'm going to pay him right now. You boys are so American. You didn't gamble in local currency. Like 50. We'll play US and Venmo each other. Have you changed currency in Venmo? That'd be great if you could.
Starting point is 02:15:34 You mark it. You'd be able to pay somebody. 10 million pesos. Except from that, who knows? We kind of just go month by month, see it where it takes us. I heard the fitter said some good stuff about your chipping. It was the first time in my life that I went to a fitting for my wedges, and the guy goes, we're not going to change anything.
Starting point is 02:15:52 How good is that? That was a good feeling. That's a big pattern. Yeah, thank you very much. We should almost applaud you. I'll text me. He's a proper chipper. I've seen it, buddy.
Starting point is 02:16:00 I'm watching the stuff. I'm watching the shrink you've been with. It's good. Yeah. It's awesome. I bet you have some thoughts about that. I haven't watched all of it, but like, obviously the stuff I saw in Scotland was great. I'm confident wearing the flat cap.
Starting point is 02:16:12 You know he inspired me to get one. I saw you commented the other day. I was like, he looks good, I'm going to get one. It was raining here the other day, almost. That's why I had it on. It was weird. You ever rains here? Have you been playing?
Starting point is 02:16:25 I'm not as much. I fell open. I fell over. Yeah, my, listen to this. Your center of gravity is so low. Listen to this. So you like this. So my kid that you guys saw at the start today was running around, booting a ball around.
Starting point is 02:16:38 He loves football. My kids love sporting that. So we have a break at Christmas from the football thing that they're doing. And he used to skateball. So I was like, should we go skateboard? We had a mate in town from Australia, big skateboarder. So we went to this skateboard like pump track, which is where you go over these hills. So California.
Starting point is 02:16:54 Yeah, it is. But like, I'm not going to drop into bowls. I mean, that's intimidating. You know what I mean? And I'm old now. Do you have any, like, history in skateboard? Okay. I can do everything.
Starting point is 02:17:03 So I'm like, let's go on a pump track. So we get going. And obviously, like, if there's anyone older in the crowd listening to you, they'll relate to this. And I'm not old, but I'm also not young anymore, unfortunately. and I've got kids and they're talented. So there's a stage in a man's life and this is why I relate to you there to you. There's a stage in a man's life.
Starting point is 02:17:22 Your son or daughter start to beat you at things. And it's like I'm just not having it. It's just not happening. So we get to the pump track. It's going to be a problem for me. And he's a talented little kid. And he starts going around this pump track.
Starting point is 02:17:35 And there's a parent there or someone there who starts timing the kids going around. And it's a long old trek. And I remember the time was 35 seconds. And he says to me, can I get in on that? And he's a bit shy. He's a kid. So I'm like, yeah, go and ask the guy if you can start.
Starting point is 02:17:47 So you can, well, you time me. So I start timing him. And he's running like, 34s, 33. And I'm like, how's it going? I said, yeah, 38, mate. These kids are, good. And he's like, oh, really? I said, yeah.
Starting point is 02:17:56 And then the dad sees what, he's going on. He's like, you want to go? And he says, yeah, I want to go. And he gets it. And he runs a 29 around the way. Whoa. So he's like, oh, they go and he goes, oh, 29. No kid beats it.
Starting point is 02:18:06 And I'm like, I'm going to have this. So I start ripping around this thing. Ripping. And I'm a dump skate all the time. I mean, I'm a man. I'm not going to do that. O'biet short, I am a man. So I start ripping around this thing.
Starting point is 02:18:21 And we get into this corner and I fly off the corner. Like out, because I'm out of control. I need the security footage of Trotty. And you know when you go on a pump track lurcher, you are pumped. Yes. I just go bump. straight out the edge. The board goes off into the abyss,
Starting point is 02:18:42 a good launch and spin. I go a good launch and spin the other way, needing forgiveness for the landing. I land on my wrists, and you know it's bad, when the next thing I see is my little boy on top of me going, are you all right? Are you okay?
Starting point is 02:18:56 Are you good? I'm like, I'm good. I'm good. So I get up. I beat you to the first corner. I get back up and I get on the board, and I realize now,
Starting point is 02:19:07 which about five weeks later, my wrists are killing me. And I'm like, no. So I see this old guy at the golf club, like a goat hill around the corner. See this old boy Pete legend. We played a medal, January medal.
Starting point is 02:19:19 I grind it out, Birdie the last two for plus one. I'm just stoked. And I finish. And I see a guy used to be in the skateboard industry and I'm there rubbing my wrists. I'm like, this is a new injury.
Starting point is 02:19:28 And you know, you love an injury. I'm like, this is a new injury. I do. You love an injury. So now I'm rubbing my wrists. I'm like,
Starting point is 02:19:34 what's going on. The most accurate thing ever said. So I'm like, And the boy looks at me and I tell him and he's like, yeah, wrists, man, bummer. And then this old boy Pete comes over and Pete, you know, he goes, how'd you go, he won the net? Of course he did.
Starting point is 02:19:43 Pete's a flipping swordsman, plays off like three, shoots five under. Of course he does. Wins the net. He plays off of three. Yeah, I said, Pete, my wrists are toast. And he's like, oh, I had a wrist injury. It took me 18 months to get over it.
Starting point is 02:19:54 That's exactly what you want to hear. So I'm like, you say to me how much golf are you playing. I've played three times so far this year. And I want to play more. I want to step it up. But it's like these wrists, buddy. I could be I could be Borelli for the year Wow
Starting point is 02:20:06 It's not a good spot to be in Not all because Chasing my ego Yeah my ego couldn't let my eight year old son beat me at something Should have just told you to beat him to the corner I was 10 seconds to the corner you were 11 Yeah you're gonna be the same boat as me You'll be right there
Starting point is 02:20:21 I'll be a mess Or I'll just quit My brother used to do that to me We'd compete If I ever beat him as a kid If I didn't try that time I would lose my mind Older younger
Starting point is 02:20:30 He's older two years older And we would battle royal royal over any game. And if I ever won it, just I just didn't try it. I'd be like, it's infuriating. I'd lose my God. It's like my mind just goes, do not compute and I just
Starting point is 02:20:45 go furious. It's he red. And I play my dad in ping pong or something, and I'll beat him 15 games in a row. He beats me the 16th. And he throws a paddle on the table. He goes, I'm done. I'm done. I'm like, you're not going to let me get one more. I goes, I'm done. You're like, get your ass back of that day.
Starting point is 02:21:00 Going to sleep a winner. And I'd be like, you lost all days. It doesn't matter. But you know what, though? It's funny. He says it, because Christmas, the gift my son wanted ping pong table. So it turns up, and of course, we're just ripping ping pongs now all the way through. And that's a tough one. Like, how... Pink pong's great. How, but
Starting point is 02:21:15 howdy? And then a ball, it's just, you know, when someone's learning. That used to be my game, but... Someone's like, oh, I, my shock. Racketsport. He used to be unbelievable, and then we put him in the... Barstow off as I can't play. We humbled the shit out of him. No, it's shitty paddles. Oh! But someone...
Starting point is 02:21:31 He was complaining about the temperature. Remember it's cold in here Are you kidding me? Can't get enough spin on the ball You need to warm up the ball Anytime anywhere in place He's never been cold in his life No the ball's cold
Starting point is 02:21:40 That's the issue Oh got you So you know what it's like you play a beginner though So what do you do in the beginner is your son And he can just see over the And all you can see is his little baseball cat going out there And he chips it back to you And it t's up
Starting point is 02:21:51 And in your mind you're like I am gonna smack the shit And you go down here For the old Pete Sampras one of them And it starts to come up You're holding it Western You call it Western And you're like literally on a ping pong
Starting point is 02:22:01 Back Western And you're like this is my son what am I doing? It's the last minute you turn it and he goes, ding. And he goes, and the next one comes, he goes, and the next one comes, he goes, and it's just like, what do you do though? And it's like the winner and you just wants to smack the crap.
Starting point is 02:22:14 Smack it. Well, you can see this is baseball. Trust me, two swings in, it's like, mate, stop teaing this. So, bang, done. And he's picking it out the book in the corner. It's about, bang, done, picking out the scooter in the corner. Bang done, picking out of the gym. I'm like, get better.
Starting point is 02:22:27 You know what I mean? And then I'm like, how bad am I? And I'm just like, dude, do you want to rally with me? get better. But now, mate, we're like like, it's like Forrest Gump on Tom. I remember several years ago when Tiger was asked about that with Charlie, this when Charlie was way younger and he'd be like, yeah, we have putting contests all the time.
Starting point is 02:22:42 And he'd be like, oh, you like, let him win. And he's like, no, I crush him. That's where I'm going with this. But who knows what sort of child I'm going to raise. But that's where I'm going. You like, you and me? Yeah, I was, years ago, I had to be six, seven years ago. I was dating this girl. Yeah. We went actually played tennis. Congrats. Yeah, I was sick. I'm awesome. I date girls.
Starting point is 02:23:00 Sex? Yeah, we had sex. Yeah. How many times? That's great. So, so anyway, we go play tennis.
Starting point is 02:23:08 And we're like, we're like, we're like, Rolie. And, what is Michael Scott said? I'm listening. Damn,
Starting point is 02:23:15 your heart sucks and you crush your wife during sex. Anyways. So you're playing tennis for this girl, and sleazy. All right,
Starting point is 02:23:19 I'm sorry. We got too many conversations going. He's rallying playing tennis. Yes. And we're just like, I'm like, I'm like, you want to play? She's like,
Starting point is 02:23:25 no, so we're just kind of rallying, whatever. Doesn't matter. And then she hands me the balls or somewhere like, Like, she's like, oh, yeah, now it's two on me. And I was like, what did you say?
Starting point is 02:23:34 I was like, huh? So I turned it up heavy. And then the game, Fawker. Get in the bars back. It was my serve. So the next serve. Oh, man. I just absolutely teed one up right down the middle.
Starting point is 02:23:49 She, like, fended it off like this. I crow hopped right down, took an overhead, and just blitzed it right out. I said 15 love my ball. That was the last. I was going to say it was the last time you guys ever hung out. Lost my mind. I was like, this is ridiculous. And tell me this is 2-1.
Starting point is 02:24:04 2-1. No, it's 2-1. Yeah. We were rallying. Nothing down it. Also 2-1, it's 15 love, bitch. It's 15 love. It's a tough one, though, boys.
Starting point is 02:24:13 And hopefully people can relate. I don't know. But, like, you got to think about it. Because I have a nice story about, I get on really well with Zander Schofers' old man. Such a nice guy. And he talked to me about a table tennis story. The safari hats and everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:24:26 Good, good dude. Big linen guy. Good dude. We had him on the show. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. One of the best. And he talked to me about his son and Xander, and they have two boys and table tennis story and how Xander, he knew Xander was a baller when Zander was like screaming at him
Starting point is 02:24:41 crying because he lost a point. And I'm like, did he ease up on him? And he's like, fuck no. He's gay. And I'm like, Oger, his name's Oga. You're the best. He's the best. I like that.
Starting point is 02:24:51 He is the best. That's how it should be. His name's his name. Yeah. He's not his real name, but that's his nickname. He's European. He's European. He works in nicknames.
Starting point is 02:24:57 Yeah, Stefan. And then he'll say, he's a. French when you're talking about food and he's German when you're talking about something, that's precision. It's like, come on, Dick. I say, Jim, Roy, what are you going to be here, mate? You know, what are we today? The engineer, the German, or are we talking about the kitchen?
Starting point is 02:25:11 Yeah, he always takes the piss, but nice guy, nice guy. All right, Trot. You got anything else going on in your life there? How's the pizza? Come up with something. The pizza oven has kind of sat a little dormant. I've got to be honest, I've been weak on that. I had some friends in, like I told you,
Starting point is 02:25:26 and the girl of the group, the guy was a skateboarder, a girl's a good chef, never got the pizza oven going. Got a shout out my boy Tyler there. He keeps telling me he's going to give me some pizza lessons after he heard. I was talking to Frankie. I think he's a bit more of a master ovensman than I am. I gave you a legit recipe for the dough.
Starting point is 02:25:42 Yeah, and I've done it. And you know I've done it. I've sent you pictures. And obviously, Lurchy can testament to that. My little girl was in here earlier. He met her. Big thumbs up. First question I asked her.
Starting point is 02:25:50 Exactly. How's your dad's pizza? She goes, good. So there you go. I think it's good, man. He met a child and asked her about food. What do you know? Shock.
Starting point is 02:25:58 Yeah, exactly. You guys got these pizza around here? I didn't have much in common with her, but I knew she liked it. Well, I don't know if she liked it, but I knew she had to eat pizza. Pizza was just part of it. Did your dad bring pizza today? Like, what? You stole her taste test dummies?
Starting point is 02:26:14 No, but life's good. I mean, obviously, worked on the tour a long time. Now doing a lot more content stuff. That's good as well. Taylor made's in a good spot. So, yeah, mate, I mean, if you're complaining at Southern California with that view, it's tricky. Right. Right.
Starting point is 02:26:26 Moving back? Yeah. Of course. Too good of a place. Of course. Well, L.A. is not San Diego, man. Yeah, someone, I met these Korean boys, baseball guy, played for the Dodgers with down any other day,
Starting point is 02:26:37 and then an actor Korean boy, and they were just saying to me, listen, San Diego's money. Like, they're L.A. guys, but they're like San Diego's money. That's just come down, mate. We'll come down all the time. We'll play golf. Of course. I want to get you in, like, a competitive video with us.
Starting point is 02:26:50 Like, maybe we do like a three-on-three alternate shot or something like that. I want to see you, like, really competing. So D-Rap and I were talking about that because it's tricky. So he's a good player. I would say looking at his numbers, I'm not far off. And it's like, where's the line? Because Scotland, I felt like I was lucky because I was the fifth wheel. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 02:27:08 I was in. It wasn't on me. You guys had a game. I could do my thing. Also, whenever I talk to camera, I do it as if it's like my thinking. So I'll talk about the shot and any content I make for tailor-made, visualize it. It's instructional.
Starting point is 02:27:20 It is. But also it puts you in a good place when you then go and hit the shot. That's what I'm going to do. But now you boys are making content. And it's about the content. Would you have hit that shot on that par five, second or third hole, whatever it was, and you got down into the ditch and you covered me and shit? Would you have hit that shot on a normal day, or were you doing it because it was content?
Starting point is 02:27:39 Content. That's what I'm saying? So then I say to him, decent player. I said, DRAB, what do you do? Decent, by the way, in British speak means good. You're solid. Yeah, I agree. They're harsh critics.
Starting point is 02:27:48 He's solid enough. And I'm like, what do you do? Do you play the camera or do you play the game? You actually said you're trying to figure that out, right? I am trying to figure many things out. That's one of them. because it's hard it's hard balance very much so and I think credit to you and again I read the comments on your stuff you can't help you probably don't anymore but I do and it's like people say well rigs this
Starting point is 02:28:09 and I'm like you guys don't understand he had a bad few days in Scotland and your attitude I thought from the outside looking in was actually very good better than mine would have been one of the first things mine would have been horrific one of the first things he said to me I was playing shit in Myrtle Beach you were like it just doesn't matter. Well, and it's harder. You just got it. Your attitude has to say the same. Right.
Starting point is 02:28:30 It's like you can't let it. Look, you know, we're seven years in now. Like, it took time to learn that for sure. It's harder when you're better. It's way easier for me. Yeah. The expectations are low. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:28:40 They don't, they don't judge you with a fine tooth comb when you hit your driver 195. Only when you do a game improvement series. I just think everybody. Yeah. But even then, like, people are very supportive. If you're, right. At golf in particular, for whatever reason it is,
Starting point is 02:28:54 when you're doing the content side of it, when you're better. you get judged much more harshly. But you also judge your, sorry, Trotty. I'm not that sorry. But you judge yourself more harshly when you know what you're capable of and you can't do it.
Starting point is 02:29:07 That's what you're not doing it. That's what's infuriated. It's like, stop me playing golf at a higher level than where I got. It's brutal. Psychopath. The game makes you a complete psychopath. That's what's so crazy about this game.
Starting point is 02:29:17 We like don't want to be better. They'll comment being like you shot at 87. You've got a lot better though. You must have improved. Yeah, I've improved a lot. But like then we play at the LPGA event The first tournament ever I shoot an 87 couldn't make a put
Starting point is 02:29:29 And everyone's like so all that was a lie It's like well no I clearly know I didn't have the best day But that doesn't mean that that's who I am There's good days and bad I don't understand why everyone can't understand People live in a silo Greens were running 13 and it's like there was
Starting point is 02:29:41 Literal people line I made a video the other morning here on that top tee With a three wood Stealth 2 plus 3 wood I like to hear a spinny three wood This thing was going 245 On a freezing cold morning At like 830 in the morning
Starting point is 02:29:54 I mean, whatever. Sounds good. It's great. You can't hit it far. Yeah. I'm like, I'm telling, I'm giving you instructions
Starting point is 02:30:02 as to how you do your fairway wood fitting. I'm not asking you to critique if this went 270 when I'm freaking moving like an asshole. Also, there's like, 0.3% of the population in the world might be slightly better than you. Yeah,
Starting point is 02:30:15 probably less. Well, that's the other thing is like, almost. Yeah. We talk about this stuff, but almost everyone's bad at calling. Right. Yeah, but almost everyone. Everyone.
Starting point is 02:30:24 Everybody sucks. Even like, even if you're a one or a two, like, you still play often a lot of bad. We do get crazy access to get better, though. That's the thing that you have to be like somewhat. But here's something I want you to take. We get access, but we don't get like, I don't, I think people don't understand like that, sir, there's stretches where we like genuinely practice, but not that often where you're truly like focusing on.
Starting point is 02:30:47 I don't play more than like your standard country club. Yeah, but like I definitely do. Yeah, you do. So, yeah, like I'll sometimes. We play with my buddy Tom. He plays two rounds a golf a year. Showed up to Trump Ferry Point, Chast 77. And that's just like those people sometimes will come in our videos being like,
Starting point is 02:31:04 if I was, if I didn't have to be a Suffolk County police officer and work every single day. And I didn't get the golf. I would be fucking scratched tomorrow. But it's changing. And all these things. So I get, I understand the frustration some people get.
Starting point is 02:31:17 I'm sorry. I'm trying. I'm trying to you better. I'm trying to you better. I'm not actively trying to not. mainly small number. I know, but I do think that there's definitely people out there that are, like, good at golf and they're just like, I wish I could play.
Starting point is 02:31:28 That's what different than somebody could show up and play pickleball for the first time ever and destroy you. Yeah. Because they're just. Yeah, more athletic. They're just, that's just what they're really good at. And they just could do it. So I think that golf's the same way.
Starting point is 02:31:41 Definitely both sides. I'm just saying it like to be just like, I can, I can step away and see that like there is going to, you're always, we're never going to please everybody by playing golf for a living. That's never, that was never going to be the fucking. I guess what I'm trying to say is here. I think there's a misconception that like our job is to get as good as we can possibly get at golf. And we almost never spend time doing that. Right.
Starting point is 02:32:00 Very, very, very, very rare. We definitely want to get better though. We would like to. We're trying. But also we're not. Like there's also. I think there's a disconnect in like that a lot of humans have in general of like, yeah, I'd really love to get better.
Starting point is 02:32:10 But are you really going to put in like the true hardcore effort to get better? This was the first. Improve my body. Improved my actual like do drills. Am I going to stand there for two hours and do drills before I even hit a ball about my hip work. Cutting practice is so fucking boring. Like having to put all those balls down
Starting point is 02:32:28 around the hole. Like, are you really going to do that? Try to give me my first swing change in my life today. I just get you more efficient. You have a swing thought now. You have to have a goal. Something that I worked on in my swing. It's the first time I've ever done that in my golf career. Here's the deal, boys.
Starting point is 02:32:42 You have to have a goal. Bring the club way outside and then swing it in like you're fishing. Which, by the way, is bring the club back square and then, like, on plane, and then get it in a decent position. swing neutral than that. So a couple of things I want to add here. One, you've got to have a goal. Trent, I've been watching you during this.
Starting point is 02:33:00 You switched off a little bit. Glasses came off, rubbed your eyes, looked at your pedicure or whatever it is. You switched on. You need a goal, mate. You want to get break 90? What was that? He was fannying around.
Starting point is 02:33:09 Look at his nails and stuff. He's gone. You need to get focused on a goal to get better. Garth Bail. Garth Bail was here today. Divitz, we've talked about it already. The guy last time I saw him was mint. he comes today and there's all this like muddly shit in his head
Starting point is 02:33:25 and I had to pull them back and say to him get focused mate on what you're doing because you're more talented than anyone within 50 miles of us right now so if you get out the way of your own way you'll be a good player when you were hitting balls and you hit it very good you're out your own way as soon as I start to put some things in to make you more efficient you get in your own way
Starting point is 02:33:44 I'm trying to figure it out you were but now you're no longer being an athlete and you're actually because you play tennis reactional You're actually a solid athlete, to be fair. For a big dude who can't move, you're good. I agree with that. That's true. Chill out on the big man that can't move. You need targets.
Starting point is 02:34:00 Like, if I'm you, and I bet your guy is working with you on this, you need real targets that make you better. The putting practice, if you don't like doing it, I'm fucking do it. But you're going to have to do some that keeps you, just make it quick. Like, I'm doing this whole putting thing now that is like quick. I can be on the putting green for 15, 20 minutes. That works. Also, so funny how preferential everything is, because when you said that,
Starting point is 02:34:20 Like, my favorite thing in the world of practice is puttie. I hate it. I love it. Just, like, rolling the ball into the hole, I think is really fun. How bad are you at it? Like, what do your stats say? Do you even know? I don't keep stats.
Starting point is 02:34:29 What are you doing? So why, you can't even sit there and tell me that you don't like putting. You might not need to practice your putting. I definitely need to practice my putting a little bit. Bo Hostler is an amazing putter. He does not practice his putting. And he's legit. One of the best on tour.
Starting point is 02:34:40 Yeah. So some people have that gift. But you don't know because you're guessing because you're not using my Zay-A-L-B-B-B-B-B-U. I used a different app once, and my putting was not great. It was like minus, it was like minus one and a half, minus two. On what, your handicap? No, I was doing off like a tour pro.
Starting point is 02:34:56 So I was losing... Hang on a minute. So you're minus one and a half minus two. Of a plus six handicaps. You're a plus four potter then. No, but it's a lot of works. But if you're going off a tour pro, it's plus six. Yeah, but I'm not saying...
Starting point is 02:35:07 And now you're sitting here. I'm losing... I'm losing two. You see where I'm going with this, Frankie? Yeah, it's making me uncomfortable. I'm saying... We can pick it a part of each one. All right, my 10-a-minute plus.
Starting point is 02:35:18 No, no, no, no. I'm saying get something that you can actually measure it off. Yeah. If you're losing two strokes to a tour player and you play golf three times a week, making content doing it, and you're losing two strokes to a tour player, that's quite good, is what I'm saying. Okay. Thank you.
Starting point is 02:35:36 Yeah, no, I'll take it for sure. Because the tall player is... Yeah, now I'm a good putter. The tour player is plus six. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:35:44 So you're putting plus four. All right, do Essie next. What's wrong with Essie? Is your potting shit? Look how beautiful the kingdom is right now, though. The kingdom is a spectacular spot. I can't believe to get to work here every day. Trote.
Starting point is 02:35:56 That's nice. So pretty. Yeah, very lucky. The temp dips immediately when the sun starts to go. There's no humidity at all. Technical genius. Do you want the jacket? No, I've got a hoodie over there.
Starting point is 02:36:05 Tinkle genius. All right, Trotty. We appreciate you. We appreciate Taylor made more than anything. I'm excited. I got so jacked up today, getting my irons fit, getting the new stealthy. driver getting that five wood that i got you showed me a couple things with the five wood and the three wood where you could just i can turn my three wood if i'm not driving it great moving that
Starting point is 02:36:23 way absolute missile that's basically just a hardcore driver so i really appreciate it you're the man thanks for joining us thank you and uh always good thank you being engaged there frank of course we will cheers trotty thank you cheers fellas
