Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back everyone to another episode of Founders Story. Right now everyone is talking about AI, but it is not the good things that are going to come from AI. There's a lot of fear. So today I wanted to bring in an incredible entrepreneur who has a mission and impacting millions of people around the world. That's why I wanted to bring in somebody who's impacting millions of people around the world and has a mantra of AI for good. So Kate Hancock is a serial entrepreneur. She's done a multitude of different businesses, starting with e-commerce, going into real estate, even managing a company from thousands of miles away. And she's been on the Inc. 5000
Starting point is 00:00:45 list, been featured in all these different places, even had a show on a CNN channel in Asia about the future. Welcome, Kate. So honored to be here. Thank you, Dan. You know, I always have a great time interviewing you and having a discussion with you. And we have a discussion almost daily about this topic. So before we dive into AI and AI for good, the things you're doing there, what was the spark that made you say, I want to be an entrepreneur? Well, I always get in trouble when I used to work for a company. Like I think overly outside the box to the point that my boss hated it because I get in trouble all the time, but my strategy always worked. But what I mean by that is I used to run Costco roadshows nationwide and Costco are pretty
Starting point is 00:01:35 strict of rules, right? So I was running this roadshows all over the country and I would make the signs because the signs actually convert sales by 200%. But my boss, like I hated those signs, but it's like, what am I going to do? It's working. So I know, you know, it's not a good fit for me to follow rules because I love being creative. And if it's working, if someone tells me, no, I hated it. So I'm not hireable. I like my freedom. I like to be creative. I can't work to follow someone else's order. So I think that's how I become an entrepreneur. It's funny. We had a discussion on this show recently about being unemployable, but companies are really good about saying they want to be outside the box, but keeping you in the box. So I think we can all relate to those things. So let's fast forward to now. Why are you really focused on impact?
Starting point is 00:02:37 We will return to our show shortly. But first, let's talk about today's sponsor, Magnesium Breakthrough by BioOptimizers. Did you know four out of five Americans don't get enough magnesium? Crucial for over 300 biochemical reactions in your body. Here are signs of magnesium deficiency, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, muscle cramps, high blood pressure, and even constipation i know i suffer from a few of these but many supplements don't work well because they use low quality magnesium that's why magnesium breakthrough by bio optimizers is recommended offering seven forms of absorbable magnesium. BioOptimizers stands by their products with a 365-day
Starting point is 00:03:28 money-back guarantee. That's insane. So make sure you visit biooptimizers.com, B-I-O-O-P-T-I-M-I-Z-E-R-S.com backslash Dan Robbins. That's biooptimizers.com backslash dan robbins that's biooptimizers.com backslash d-a-n-r-o-b-b-i-n-s for a special offer and make sure you use the code founders f-o-u-n-d-e-r-s founders and you get your 10 off so check out biooptimizers.com to learn more and back to the show well i think if if you're here i want you've reached the point of your life where you kind of, what else do I need, right? I know my numbers. I know what makes me feel good about living comfortably. And what is the end goal?
Starting point is 00:04:19 Do you just want to make money or do you want to leave a mark to people? And when we, you're part of it, we come up with the vision and mission of impacting 100 million people globally. That was a passion for me. So anything I do from now going forward is, it's all about impact for me. I really care about elevating people, you know, making people to be better than before. I mean, I just, I just care about that. So for me, impact is way more fulfilling than making money. So I know last year you started and founded the Global AI Council with a mantra of AI for good and free education for all. So what do you see this becoming? What do you hope to achieve with the Global AI Council? I really wanted to, you know, get this mission out to the world, not just in one country. I want it to be global. And I really want,
Starting point is 00:05:27 you know, the goal for me to create a global AI council is to really elevate people that doesn't have any access to opportunities. I think now with utilizing AI tools or any AI productivity tools, they can make money. Even at $20 for a day is way more than making $5 a day. So marginalized audience, people that don't really... I mean, I grew up in the Philippines and you know that you're limited to opportunity. I think with AI utilizing what you are going to learn from the Global AI Council, you can make money and elevate your life instantly. And I think that's the best thing you can do at this point as technology are moving too fast. There is no
Starting point is 00:06:19 excuse for you to not elevate in your life. You can stay out of poverty and ai can do that that's incredible and the ability to upskill no matter where you are and all these almost sometimes free tools sometimes only 20 a month could generate you maybe thousands of dollars working online and not having to do maybe working outside in the heat and all these things making very little. So totally can see your vision here with this. So tell me about how it's been going so far. What are some of the wins that you've seen and maybe some of the things that you're really proud of? You know, I'm really proud of getting some of the amazing thought leaders in the world that really would not hesitate to say yes and be part of it right they see the vision and I'm
Starting point is 00:07:12 proud of that that they really care about AI for good especially with Liz Heller when I was texting her last year and all of you know with no with no hesitation not even asking me about what is this for when I when I mentioned AI for good free education for all and she's all of us you know right away instantly she'd say sign me up what can I do how can I help and so I'm really proud of that people see that that it is a need now. As they acknowledge you are moving too fast, we need to be educated. Whenever you are in the world, we need to know what's going on with AI. And of course, you know, we've had lots of traction from different parts of the world. We don't want this global AI council to be just U.S. centric, just European centric. We have a lot of parts of the world that will be unfortunately disrupted with the speed of technology.
Starting point is 00:08:16 So I wanted to focus into Philippines, Africa, other parts of the world that really needed this. That's incredible. I mean, I love the mission, the vision of not just being U.S. centric, but being globally centric. You're looking out for people in a multitude of continents. I know because I've been able to witness and be a part of the masterclasses where you have, you know four continents they're watching and listening can you dive into the twice a month master classes what is it and what can people expect yeah it is super super um diverse topic it went from how to market your product or services to innovation, the different landscape of AI. Yesterday, we just talked about, you know, the myth of generative AI. So you can learn no matter who you are, whether you're a student, C-suite, entrepreneur, or leaders, you can learn a lot from joining the master class, which is happening two times
Starting point is 00:09:22 a month. And it's virtual. It's easy access. You have no excuse. I know. It's amazing that it's virtual thought leaders from around the world and it's free. So really there's no reason. And I've seen like universities and colleges on there to companies putting all of their employees on there to learn. So it's not just for the individual, it's for the employees, it's for the students. Really incredible what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:09:49 So thank you. And I know a lot of people have been impacted and I've seen the messages. So, you know, I can appreciate that. So let's dive into the sentiment around AI from you personally. You have half the population who is pessimistic, super scared, the other half who's
Starting point is 00:10:05 optimistic and really positive and hopeful how do you see ai changing in the future or changing our society oh my god ai is it's like air i talked to my team about it you really need ai you really need to learn how to breathe air so that's how important that is right as as we're moving into a more complex world we need to learn ai um and it's gonna require us way different way of thinking it's moving it's solving problems before we even know what's the future problem. I mean, it's a whole new world that all of us needs to be educated and then that fear will disappear. We just need to be informed so we can position ourselves as an employee, as a student, as an entrepreneur, as leaders,
Starting point is 00:11:01 how we navigate this fast moving forward world of technology. I love your optimistic viewpoint. And it is true. It's everywhere. It's almost in everything or going to be in everything. And I mean, we were just at a meeting recently and they were talking about how they're going to use AI to communicate with animals and to understand a language that humans can't understand. I mean, this is amazing. Or being able to detect diseases and create drugs to fight them. What would it take in five years? It takes less than a year. So I'm really appreciative of your optimistic viewpoint. And I hope that people, AI for good in the education really gets out there
Starting point is 00:11:47 to make it a level playing field. So if people, if they want to get involved, what are you looking at? How do you want people to get involved right now? And for the Global AI Council, what do you need in terms of support?
Starting point is 00:12:01 Yes, we really need volunteers. We need to fill out our global roles. So if you're willing to volunteer and, you know, wanting to do some impact, you can visit our website at globalcouncil.ai and we'd love any help or any connections that you can provide us, whether it's partnership, volunteers, or even, you know, be part of our two times a month masterclass. Masterclass means a lot to us. I mean, it's free. So there's really no reason not to join.
Starting point is 00:12:36 And you really get to hear from some of the best people I've heard from. I've learned so much since you started this. And I believe you're going on to the ninth one coming up. So if they want to get in touch with you, if they want to find out more, I know you mentioned the website is globalcouncil.ai. Is there anywhere else they can go to learn more information? Yeah, we're super active on LinkedIn, all social media, X, threads or Instagram, but you can go to our website and we'd love to have everyone. We embrace everyone, no matter where you're from, you know, where you're from in the world,
Starting point is 00:13:13 we would love for you to learn about what's going on in the world of technology, in the world of AI. Well, thank you, Kate. We are Impact here with Founders Story. I always love having you. In fact, you did interview a lot of people on Founders Story in the beginning.
