I'm Sean Duffy along with my co-host for the podcast, my partner in life and my wife, Rachel Campos Duffy.
Sean, it's so great to be back. And you know,
I love Q&A. It's my favorite time of the week. It is a fun podcast. So first question is kind
of an obvious one, but it's a good one. And that's our New Year's resolution. So here we are
going to the first week of January. What's your resolution? So I've got I've got a couple. We
kind of talked about this before, but I do I do want to spend the year and I want to learn how to do things.
So we just got an ice cream maker.
I'm like, I don't know.
I buy ice cream for the kids.
Sometimes I'll have some, sometimes more than I should have.
But I'm like, how do you make ice cream?
And your sister brought up over Christmas this.
She made homemade ice cream.
She made homemade pistachio ice cream
that was like
insanely delicious.
So it was like $85.
I bought this Cuisinart
ice cream maker
and I started making ice cream.
And you know what goes in it.
It's cream, it's milk,
it is sugar.
And I'm making vanilla.
And you can alter the sugar.
You can make it.
And I put less sugar in
than it's called for.
There's no preservatives. And you can alter the sugar. You can make it. And I put less sugar in that it's cold for. There's no preservatives.
And it tastes great.
So I want to learn how to do more things this year.
Well, it also is part of the other part of the resolution, which is being more healthy.
Now, you may go, well, you're making ice cream.
That's not healthy.
Well, that's not true.
I mean, we're talking about getting processed foods out of our bodies and so i think you know there's no high fructose corn syrup there's no
you know none of the bad stuff it's just cream a little bit of sugar and and milk and you know
whether it's vanilla extract or whatever but it's it was delicious and i think it's in line with what
we're trying to do which is to eat more like
our grandparents now i will say i did make one that had um i i took the cream out of the oreo
cookies and put i mean oreo cookie vanilla ice cream you know like cookies and cream yeah and
then i did a uh i cut up little pieces of snickers bars and put those in another one so and the kids
like that um i think the key for us is trying to get away from processed foods.
And getting used to the taste of real food.
So like, you know, I know you did that with the Snickers and I wish you wouldn't have.
Because I think what happens is our taste buds have become so accustomed to this like really intense high fructose corn syrup which isn't natural and so when we taste something
that's just slightly sweetened with natural stuff um we feel like it's not sweet enough
and i think it's about it's about retraining our taste buds to like those things that are
more natural you don't have to retrain your taste buds to make homemade ice cream and make it just
vanilla and it was delicious the vanilla was delicious the pistachio was amazing um so i like that and by the way it's
so fun for the kids too we had a we had a blast the first batch didn't work out very well because
it didn't freeze the first batch was actually a milkshake we turned we said no no dad made a
milkshake i was too excited i started too early he took the there's a container that goes in the
freezer that has to be in there 24 hours he took it out early because he was so excited. I started too early. He took the, there's a container that goes in the freezer that has to be in there 24 hours.
He took it out early because he was so excited and then it didn't work.
But the kids had milkshake.
It's not expensive to make your own ice cream and you know, you know, everything you put into it.
So again, I think in the long run, you'll save money.
I don't know that I'm going to save money, but I'm going to feel better about the ice cream that I eat because I know what went into it.
So there's that. The second thing is, again, I had shoulder
surgery and I haven't been able to work out. And at my age, it's interesting. You don't work out
how things slide. So and then once you let things slide, it's harder to get back in the groove. I'm
going to get back in the workout groove, which I started before New Year's. And I'm still I'm
still somewhat limited, but I'm getting back into that jam um because again i think making sure we're uh we're healthy um uh you forgot part of it though
i'm not well i'm not i wasn't okay because i thought the most interesting part is the second
part we'll go maybe i'm gonna get this one wrong what are you talking about you're gonna get back
in shape from especially from having shoulder surgery,
so that you can protect me.
Oh, that's a really good point.
So I've talked to a number of different people, including the great Dan Bongino,
who are taking jiu-jitsu.
They're taking Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Isn't that called capoeira or something like that? It's Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
I went down a little rabbit hole.
There's the Japanese, which is the original jiu-jitsu.
Now there's Brazilian.
But again, I think you see all the violence.
You don't know where violence is going to
come to you. And making
sure that you can take care of yourself
and your family is really important.
So I've got to wait about
probably four more weeks to do that.
But I'm going to dive in there.
Please don't break your shoulder again in jiu-jitsu and then um because you're a little bit of baby when it comes to your shoulder listen
i okay it's nice to have a wife who actually is supportive of you when you had major surgery you
just like a lot of it but most men are like that it's okay it's okay rachel played this little
instagram video for me of this little baby who had a cold.
It was a little baby bird.
It was a little baby bird.
It was like this little baby bird.
And it's like, it's okay.
It's okay, baby bird.
And then underneath the meme says what my husband wants me to do when he catches a cold.
It's okay, baby bird.
But it was real serious.
Whatever.
And then,
you know,
I'm going to continue to,
to,
to grow and work on our,
our religious life and leading our family in that,
in,
in that realm,
which is incredibly important as we,
again,
fortify our,
our lives and our families and our faith for 2024.
So,
but that's,
as we,
as we enter into the unknown 2024,
we're not always going.
The danger of saying these things on a podcast
is if I don't do them,
I'm going to feel guilty.
Well, that's part of being held accountable.
I know.
It's good.
Is it?
No, I think it's really good.
So I also had some fitness.
I guess, you know,
when I remember when I would get pregnant and then you would gain weight, too.
And you'd say, I'm just gaining weight with you.
When you broke your shoulder and stopped working out, I somehow became a little less active as well.
So, I mean, I was just been in and out, not consistent.
And so I want to be consistent.
I want to get stronger.
I want to get more flexible because as you age, I think that's important. And so I'm going to be, yeah, I, well, I took a class and now I'm
going to try and get, you know, get more regular about it and take a class maybe two a week. Um,
and then, you know, do more weights. Um, we have a friend, Anna Koyman, um, who's a friend of
Fox and Friends family because she used to be, she used to actually do my job on the weekend.
That's right. And then she moved to Australia and now she's in North Carolina.
And she started an app called Strong Mamas, which I'm joining.
And she's going to help me also be more accountable to my working out because I just I'm just not consistent.
So that's that's one of my big problems. But also, I want us to fortify our family as we get ready for the new year.
Can I be honest?
I don't feel like we're very original.
It seems like a lot of people, this is what we do at the start of every year.
It's like, we're going to get in shape and we're going to eat healthier.
Right?
But again, I think it's always a good time and a good reminder to go to the next level with this.
Right. But again, I think it's always a good time and a good reminder to go to the next level with this.
And they kind of rethink a new thought process on how to be healthier and how to get healthier.
You know, they always say like abs are built in the kitchen, right?
Like your abs are built in the kitchen. So like part of like half the battle is how are you eating?
And I think over the last, you know, since Christmas, and we're going to go off track a little bit because tomorrow is January 6th, the Feast of
the Epiphany. And for Catholics, that's the day we celebrate when the three wise men came to see
the baby Jesus. And so for us, it's like a second Christmas and we have a big dinner. We're going to do a big brunch this year.
And our kids put out their shoes the night before,
and they leave them by the altar.
And then they leave a little sugar in their shoes for the camels,
because, you know, the three wise men come with their camels.
And then in the morning they wake up,
and there's three little gifts for each of them,
just like the baby Jesus received.
So for those Hispanic families, the Christmas party has not ended.
It's still going and it goes until January 6th.
So we're still a little bit in celebration mode, but we did start eating better this week.
I made a big pot of bone broth and we've been doing more bone broth, and just trying to be more healthy.
And the key is to get all the crap from Christmas, all the cookies.
Get it out of the house.
Get it out of the house. You just can't have it there. Another thing, again, I don't mean
to be a downer about January 6th, because it's a great day, and it's a fun celebration,
but there's something about Christmas trees. I don't know. It seems like in Wisconsin,
my Christmas tree lasted longer in my house than a New Jersey Christmas tree.
And I'm not trying to diss on New Jersey Christmas trees, but I feel like our Christmas tree is dying.
And well, it was this is the first year in our family that we did not cut down our own tree.
And so this tree had already been cut and we don't actually know how long ago it was cut.
And one of the things that we do know from having done 23 years of cutting down our own tree
is that you've got to get it in water immediately.
While the bottom of the tree, the pores or whatever,
the bottom where you cut it is still open and you want that water to suck up.
So that could have been it.
But all our decorations are still up.
The music is still going, the Christmas music.
But all our decorations are still up.
The music is still going, the Christmas music.
And we're still in Christmas spirit mode, which I love how it lingers in our house.
It's one of the things I love about how we Catholics do Christmas is it lingers.
It's the 12 days of Christmas.
It truly is. The 6th is the 12th day of Christmas, if you recall the song on the first day of Christmas.
It starts on Christmas Day and goes until January 6th.
So that's been good. on the first day of Christmas, right? It starts on Christmas Day and goes until January 6th. So, okay.
So that's been good.
Okay, so here's something that's just,
this one is not a question,
but it's something that's been really,
it just cracks me up, so I'm going to talk about it.
So there's another, every like five months,
you know, the Daily Mail and all the gossip columns
drop pictures of J-Lo and Ben Affleck
that look like that and they basically
say this relationship's on you know it's it's it's on it's on the brink they're fighting again
and it'll be video or a picture of them looking at each other tense or they're at some award
ceremony and she's saying something to him and and and like i'm just going to be really frank
to white people it looks like they're fighting um but for a latin woman she's just saying something in a very you know i don't know
loud forceful forceful aggressive way natural to us way and so every so there's another one i guess
they're out of the in a caribbean island on some fancy you know winter holiday and they go to a
jewelry store which must be really fun to go to a jewelry store
as jlo like you can afford to buy whatever you want in there and um so it looks like they're
sternly discussing something and they're somebody snapped pictures from outside the jewelry store
in this caribbean island and um of course i look at it again and I'm like, they're not fighting. This is just a Latin woman talking
to her husband. That's it. And like, you can relate to that. So, but here's the flip side of
that. As the white man, as part of that conversation with a Latin woman, you still,
it's, you, you know what they're doing. They're, they're, they're a little louder, a little angrier,
a little tougher, but it's hard not to take that sometimes as fighting.
We talked about this the other day.
We were having a conversation about the podcast,
and all of a sudden Rachel's yelling at me about the podcast.
And I don't think you're –
I wasn't mad.
She wasn't mad.
But then I started yelling back at her at the same tone,
and all of a sudden we're yelling at each other.
I'm like, is this how we really want to talk?
Is this how we really want to talk?
And Rachel always has this comment where it's like like there's only room for one latina in this
relationship yeah i'm like i can yell you can't there's only room for one latina in the marriage
so sometimes he takes on my tone and i'm like whoa whoa whoa stop um stop but yeah i just think
but there is a really great video sean and i've shown it to you it's perfect go ahead describe it
so good so they're so there I didn't know
who they were when you first showed me the video so this this couple is JLo and Ben to their car
Ben opens the door and then they're not really talking they seem like they're in a little bit of
a it's like a little yeah it does look tense and she sits down and someone's filming this and he
doesn't slam the door but forcefully shuts the door and then walks around
the back of the car like you can tell he's pissed off about he's taking a deep he takes a deep
breath he does take a deep breath and he's trying to navigate a very challenging woman
um i feel like i get the slam in the door going
and then try to get your cool as you walk around the back of the car
and then back to your seat in
the driver's seat and then you can see him kind of get in and it's like he's he's like all right
i got this and the question is that us white men think about is is it worth it is this worth it is
it worth it try to just let this go take a deep breath slam the door get your little revenge
and then get in the car and be on your way.
So it's so funny when you say, is it worth it?
Because there's another meme with Tommy Lee Jones from a movie, and I don't know what movie it's from.
And probably some one of you guys listening where he's it's literally a clip from a movie.
And he goes, yes, it's worth it.
But only if you're strong enough.
Yes, it's worth it, but only if you're strong enough.
And then the meme underneath goes, it's something about like, should you date Latino women or should you marry a Latino woman?
Should you marry a Latino woman?
And then, of course, he says, yes, it's worth it, but only if you're strong enough.
So anyway, I saw the J-Lo thing and I just love it.
Every time I see them together, I love them together.
I love that they got back together. love everything about i see going on just she's just so extra i i can't help loving her i and i know her and i ideologically are very different but i just love
and the commentary around the relationship and and the the heated nature of the relationship
which probably is less heated than the public seems to think because we can attest ourselves
yeah again they clearly like each other they can't they they they they're they're into each which probably is less heated than the public seems to think, because we can attest ourselves. Yeah. Again.
They clearly like each other.
They can't, they're into each other.
Brown woman gets to be a little funky.
Anyway.
Okay, so here I've declared this next video that we're going to play for you.
The cutest Instagram video of the week that I saw.
I don't know when it came out.
I saw it this week.
I sent it to all the young moms that I know.
And here it is. We have two oranges. What looks different about them? One has no peel and one does. Yes, you're right. This one with no peel is us without Jesus, without God,
without having him. What do you think will happen if we have troubles
and we drop into the troubles without God?
Will we float or sink?
Sink.
You want to try?
Put it in there.
This one?
Yep.
You're right.
We sunk.
Okay.
This orange is us with God, with his help.
So when we are dropped into troubles, what do you think happens when we have God with us?
Float.
We float. Let's see.
Oh, my goodness!
We float with the armor of God, with his help.
Anything's possible.
And this one is the trouble.
And he protects us.
Yeah.
Rachel showed me this video, and I think it's amazing that, again, if you're listening and didn't see it,
there's a peeled tangerine and an unpeeled tangerine and two cups of water.
And it's great.
Again, you drop the tangerine that's peeled without God.
It sinks.
The one that's peeled floats.
God's your armor.
What a great visual. What a smart mom that is and i what
my takeaway was that again we it's our responsibility yes to teach our kids to form our
kids we don't outsource that to schools we don't outsource that to social media we don't outsource
that to culture and it starts at a very young age.
And the formation that these kids are getting, the power of faith in God in your life. And I know
you had the accident that you had, which was horrible. And you always tell the story about
the one thing you had as you're laying on the side of the road was your faith. You were praying the
rosary. And the fact that that truly is armor around you in your life, you're, you're praying the rosary. And the fact that that is, that truly is armor
around you in your life. And especially in the most difficult times in your life,
that a mom is teaching that to her kids at that age. Um, those kids are truly blessed.
Yeah. I just, I have to say like, I watched that and I thought the same thing you thought that,
you know, never forget you are the first and most important teacher to your children.
The first and most important teacher.
That little lesson, as simple as it was, it was two little tangerines, two glasses of water.
But the visual was so beautiful and so age appropriate.
And I just I was really blown away by that.
I sent I sent it around to all the moms.
It was simple.
It was so simple. And all, and all the moms wrote me back and said, I'm doing this with
my kid today. I'm doing this. It was just such an easy way. Okay. So I want to, I want to share
this with you because this is right in line with what we're talking about. And first of all, I also
want to point out internet, social media can be used for such bad stuff. What a beautiful way of using social media.
Helping other moms figure out how to be the first teacher, but also the spiritual director of your children.
They're not going to get it unless you teach it to them.
And you're finding creative, age-appropriate ways to do it.
But it comes back to the school.
So this week...
I'm making ice cream with no lesson, and this woman is eating oranges and teaching about faith. Well, you are teaching some lessons about
she does. She wins the prize. Cutest video of the week, the little kids, the reaction,
adorable. I mean, the whole thing was just, I just loved it. It's so simple, so beautiful.
But here's another thing. So we have our daughter Margarita's in fourth grade,
and she has a wonderful teacher named Miss Clacky and um and she is wonderful she was a former homeschool mom now she's in the catholic school
basically giving all the i just feel so lucky and blessed that someone like this is teaching our
kids and all of our kids have had the most amazing experience in the school it's a classical catholic
academy and it is just incredible in new jersey i'm telling you that i got this And it is just incredible. In New Jersey, I'm telling you that I got this email
was just a reminder of like, this is the best thing we've ever done for our children is get
them into a school like this. And they exist around the country. If you're listening as parents,
seek this out. So first of all, because it's a classic Catholic Academy, they're celebrating
the 12 days of Christmas. So they started, by the way, with,
you know, St. Nicholas came to visit them on the Feast of St. Nicholas on December 6. And now we're
all the way to January 6. And they're celebrating the Epiphany, as we discussed earlier in the show.
But also, they are studying Laura Ingalls and Little House on the Prairie. And this teacher knows how to make that beautiful
story, that beautiful piece of American, true Americana literature come to life for these
children. So this is the email that I got. Dear parents, this is from my daughter's teacher,
our in-school concert, they're having their Christmas concert during the Christmas season,
right? We're going tonight and tomorrow. So Christmas season is not during all the busy before Christmas stuff.
It's after.
So it says we're having our in-school concert, you know, coming up, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Our theme of Little House on the Prairie had students sewing quilts, dipping candles, and weaving baskets.
Today, we prepare for tomorrow's Christmas on the Prairie feast by making bread.
Tomorrow, students will have what the Ingalls family feasted on for Christmas, roasted turkey,
sweet potatoes, and fresh bread. Students should bring in their usual snack, but can, if they wish,
bring a lighter lunch, yada yada, to enjoy Christmas on the Prairie food in the classrooms.
Students will also celebrate the epiphany by putting on a play that highlights the different
physical and spiritual gifts the infant Jesus may have been given by the Holy Family, the
wise men and others that came to know him.
Merry Christmas.
P.S.
Some students may have dripped candle wax on their uniform.
If so, it can be removed by ironing with a brown paper bag.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Okay.
So I had so many thoughts when I got this because I had been hearing since before Christmas,
my daughter had been anticipating all the things that were going to happen this week.
So they had known that they were going to do all these things to culminate the study of,
you know, life on the prairie in this early American part of history through the Laura
Ingalls story, all the things they learned.
By the way, all the useful things that you want to learn, Sean, candle making and making.
I made candles.
Yes.
And then just how self-sufficient Americans were at one point in our history.
It's just beautiful.
And going back to the first point, I did buy a flower to grind.
Your own mill.
Sean Mills is our flower now.
We have a flower mill they bought from
Germany that we can mill our own flour so we don't have all this stuff. Anyway, so that's been really
great. I think about the kind of preparation and thought that went into this by this teacher. I'm
amazed by it. I loved how excited my daughter has become about this part of history that they're studying through this wonderful piece of literature.
And and then I got sad, Sean.
I got sad because I thought of all the other fourth graders, especially in New Jersey, where they have a LGBTQ trans curriculum, where all public school kids are being introduced to this. All the kids that are learning about the gender bread man and all the CRT,
the racist CRT and all the, you know,
pornographic books that are being introduced to elementary kid school,
they're getting that.
And our daughter gets this and all the little kids in our lady of Mount
Carmel get this.
And it just, to me, seems so unjust. Last night when we did our
family nighttime prayer, we prayed in Thanksgiving that our kids get to go there. We prayed for every
teacher. I know these teachers get paid less than in the public schools, but they do it because they
love Catholic education. They love being able to teach classical education.
And I just think it's time that we, you know, we talk a lot about what's wrong with the public schools, Sean.
This is an opportunity to talk about what's right and what's going well and why we need school choice, universal school choice.
It shouldn't just be, you know, parents with, you know, with means that can access the kind of education all kids used to get.
Wholesome, good education based on the classics and great good books and history that all kids
used to get. And amen and God bless every one of you teachers who are out there doing this
for kids like little Margarita. You know, what I love about this school is Father Daniel will say,
listen, if you want your child to come, we will figure out a way to let your child come.
No child is turned away because of money.
No matter the means,
which I mean, this is, it's mission driven.
It's totally, they're like, we will find a way.
But if you're smart enough to want your kid to come here,
do not let money be the reason that stops you
because we will find the money.
We'll find a way, yeah.
And so anyway, that's it.
And can I just, to that point,
I'm part of an organization, which I hope people listen. If you're listening to this,
it's called I'm on the board for it. It's called Hope in Education. Hope in Education is a nonprofit
that I'm on the board of. I know everyone intimately. So I can tell you that this is
an organization that is doing amazing work. And I firsthand see where the money is going.
And it provides money to low-income families so that they can send their kids to good schools like this.
And it's not just Catholic schools.
It's private schools allowing parents the choice, not letting money be the problem,
giving them scholarships so they can go
to a private school. And then once one child gets in, Sean, they prioritize the siblings who want
to go next so they can keep the family together. Hope in Education in New Jersey is a fabulous
organization. They also give scholarships to the schools themselves so they can provide funds.
They're raising money and doing great stuff.
Frankly, the money should come from the state because this is your tax dollars
that are being sent to these schools,
these public schools.
But in the meantime, in that breach,
Hope and Education is doing that.
So sorry I got on my soapbox about this,
but you know I'm passionate about this.
And I thought reading Ms. Kalacki's newsletter
to give you just a taste of what your kids are missing if they're in a
public school. This is what school should be about. This is what puts kids on fire for education and
really fortifies them with the love of learning and values that we want. And I think it takes
some time to start thinking through. If you want to get your kids out, if you don't like what's
happening in the public school, it does take thought, it does take planning, it does take conversation, but
once you start going down the road,
and eventually you can make it happen to get
your kids out, the results
I think are truly remarkable.
Especially if you have one of these
great schools in or near your community.
So look for a classical
education. It could be Christian, it could be
Catholic, but
look for a classical education for your child.
We'll be back with much more after this.
Welcome to the A World Business.
Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm star in a new Paramount Plus original series.
The world has already convinced itself that you are evil and I am evil for providing them the one thing they interact with every day.
You all right? Here we go.
From Taylor Sheridan, executive producer of Yellowstone.
Get everybody back. Go! Go!
You just put a giant bullseye on this place.
We rolled the dice one last time.
Landman, new series now streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
Can I switch topics now?
Yeah, you absolutely can.
To a topic that is
burning me. It makes me so frustrated. It turned you into a Latina today on Trey Gowdy's show.
And so I came out and I was talking to you about this. And so it's about Congress, right? And I
think there's a cottage industry of Republicans bashing Republicans. And I'm not that guy. I
don't want to do that. But I do think being honest about what's happening is important. Go back a little
more than a year ago in December, you had Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi in
December, as Republicans had won control of the House before Republicans took control in January.
Mitch McConnell in the Senate worked with Democrats in
the House to pass a massive funding bill to go to October 1st of 2023, a few months ago.
And since, which was outrageous that Mitch McConnell would do that, but as of October 1st,
Republicans in the House that have the power of the purse had the ability to roll back some of this massive spending that Joe Biden and Democrats have put into place.
And what do they do?
They passed a continuing resolution because they wanted to fight and remove Kevin McCarthy.
They put a new speaker in, Mike Johnson, and all of a sudden he had to pass continuing resolutions to give them time to figure out what to do on funding.
Well, those continuing resolutions, they come in two tranches.
One is on the 19th of January and one is February 1st.
They don't have a plan to actually cut spending.
And if Republicans can't come up with a plan, how do they fight Democrats?
Right. So Republicans spend more time fighting Republicans than fighting Democrats. And so
you're going to have more continuing resolutions, no cuts in spending and a squandered Republican
Congress. And here's what happens. You have Republicans that are like, I want 100 percent.
I want what I want. And we're conservative and
we're going to get all these things. Well, not everyone comes from a Republican plus 20 district.
They come from 50, 50 district seats and they can't do everything that maybe a member from
hardcore red Texas can do. And so you got to compromise. But if you can come up with a
Republican bill that is getting 70 percent of what you want or 60 percent of what you want,
you pass that bill because you're making progress as opposed to saying I'm out.
And then Democrats control the process. Right. And they won't cut any spending.
And so this ideological purity in the Republican Party has been a cancer that has paralyzed this Congress from really doing anything.
And so they did cut some spending.
Why don't you give an example of somebody?
Listen, let's just it's fine to give an example of somebody who is part of the problem.
So I understand a lot of it comes from the Freedom Caucus.
Right. And again, for the Freedom Caucus to fight and to push to make bills more conservative that can pass.
I'm all about that. We are. You would be a freedom in terms of your ideology and how you think about things.
You agree 100 percent with the Freedom Caucus. We are losing our country.
We need this Congress to fight harder, to be better and be more conservative.
Congress to fight harder, to be better and be more conservative. But in the end, you got to take the most conservative bill that you can all rally around as it can actually pass, because if you
don't, then you empower Democrats. And so some wins. Let me explain this because it took me a
while to understand. So if you don't pass the most conservative bill that Republicans can pass,
which means it won't be perfect, it won't be quite what the Freedom Caucus wants,
but it's got enough in there. Then in order to pass a bill, the moderates will team up with the
Democrats instead. Let me tell you practically what will happen. So as we come to the end of
this, this continuing resolution, it's just continuing the current
spending that we now have in place, which goes back to Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer,
Nancy Pelosi of, you know, 13 months ago, right?
So Republicans have a choice.
They can pass what's called an omnibus bill, a massive spending bill that funds the government
at more limited
levels. They cut spending, they cut funding. They could pass that bill and Senate Democrats
won't agree with them. Joe Biden won't agree with them. And they'll have to fight it out.
They'll have to duke it out. And you might have government shutdown, but Republicans go into a
shutdown with a bill and a set of ideas on what spending levels should be. If Republicans
don't pass a bill that they can agree on, what will happen is then you'll have a government
shutdown where Republicans haven't passed a bill, or you'll just have another continuing resolution
to continue the funding of Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and Chuck Schumer.
And so you lose if you don't pass a bill.
So your main concern, let's take this macro a little bit, is we're $34 trillion in debt.
Yes.
I need these guys to fight.
I need them to come together.
No, no, no.
We're on the verge of collapsing our own currency if we keep this up.
And which, by the way, they want.
Okay, so let's go there because, I mean, a lot of people don't want to talk about this.
But sometimes we go, why are they doing this?
Like, why are they doing what they're doing at the border?
I think it's intentional.
It's not just to get voters.
It's because they want to collapse our system.
And that's part of how you do that.
In this case, you think that the trillions and trillions
of dollars in debt, 34 trillion is just astounding. And by the way, the amount of unfunded liabilities
is just mind boggling. It's even way more than that. I don't know how you think that we can
continue on this path, but you say it's intentional. They want to collapse the system
to introduce or usher in a digital currency.
That's right. So how does collapsing our currency allow for this ushering in a digital currency?
By the way, digital currency means that is the first step to absolute total sort of Chinese
style control of you. It's the first step in the social credit score system.
Yeah, it's one of the prongs in the approach to controlling you.
But a lot of people say, well, they have all these promises that they're making and all of this debt.
This can't. Are they dumb?
You can't continue to spend this way and borrow this way.
There's going to be a bad consequence for it.
Are they stupid people?
And the answer to that is no, they're not dumb.
This is intentional, right? They're trying to pile on so much debt, so much spending,
that this system collapses. Because in the current system we have, they can't change it.
They have to make it collapse, give you a crisis.
Just build back better.
And once you get that crisis,
you can rebuild it with something else, which will be digital currency. And we've...
Why do they want digital currency? So if you have a $20 bill, you can, I've used this example before,
you can spend it any which way you want. You can buy groceries at the grocery store. You can go to
the mechanic. You can buy drugs. You can, you know, you could get,
you know, you know, ladies of the night, there's all kinds of ways you can spend that money legally and illegally. But the freedom of currency that we currently have, belongs in the holder of the
currency. If you have a digital digital currency, that's going to be controlled by the federal
government. And they can control how, when, and where
you spend that digital currency.
So the freedom is taken from you
and it's given to the state
where they can't control how I spend that $20 bill.
They can prosecute me maybe if I spent it illegally
after I've spent it,
but they can't stop me from how I want to spend my money
with the cash currency that we
have today, the fiat currency we have today. If it's gone digital, they're able to control
every which way I spend it and how much of it I have. And again, the power that it gives the state
provides them the opportunity for massive control. And you can't get Americans to buy into changing the system
until you collapse the current system. It goes along with the border. Democrats understand that
they can secure the border. They don't want to secure the border. We had this conversation last
night. So can I talk about this quickly? Yes, please do. So right now, Democrats want, what, $60, $70 billion to fund Ukraine.
They want $14 billion for Israel.
They really want this money.
They really want to send this money to Ukraine and Israel.
And Republicans have said, okay, but in exchange for that,
we want to have real policy changes that secure the border.
And Democrats are making a calculation.
We care more, if I'm a
Democrat, we care more about open borders and funneling millions of people a year into this
country. We care more about that than sending money to Ukraine and Israel. So they're confronted
with a choice. And right now they're choosing open borders, not money.
John, is the open borders about like, you know, there's all this like cloward pivot.
And you guys can Google that.
There's like these radical Marxists in the 60s who said, you know, if you want to collapse
the system and fundamentally transform America like Barack Obama wanted, that you have to
collapse the system.
And one of the ways that you could do it, there's all these different, you know, silos
of things you can do.
And one of
them is to collapse the social services system. And like once the welfare collapses, you just,
people, so many people fall into poverty that they're willing to just go along with whatever
it is. I mean, you've seen this before with Marxism. When things get really bad,
suddenly communism and Marxism and income inequality gets really bad. People are more
attracted to these kinds of ideologies that are radical, even though they failed.
And by the way, income inequality is getting exponentially worse in our country.
It's just happening.
So that's one reason.
But let's face it, the other reason is that rich people also want cheaper labor for their homes, for their companies.
So what is it?
So if you look at the kind of social change you can make with a small number of people,
most Americans are like, Black Lives Matter is kind of crazy.
Or they'll go diversity, equity.
Actually, a lot of them went along with it.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Or ESG, environmental, social governance policies. Most Americans like that. That's kind of anti-American, right? Equity,
the fact that we want everyone to be equal as opposed to equal opportunity given to everybody,
not equal outcomes to everybody. Most Americans like this doesn't make, that doesn't make sense.
But you have a small, so my point is you have a small group of people that can protest, that can
riot, that can do all these crazy things, and they can get the majority of people to cave,
to crumble because they're so radical, they're so loud, they're burning, they're protesting.
So if you bring in a whole millions of people that haven't bought into the American idea of who we are as a culture and a society, those people can be activated by Democrats to be part of this revolution of a small group of people that can collapse the viewpoints and the system that is supported by the majority. And we see it happen all the time. So just to make your point of just like,
and I think it's a very plausible
and interesting theory of why it's happening.
I just think we need to be asking why, why, why all the time
as we see what's happening at the border.
Collapse, collapse, collapse.
Collapse, collapse, collapse.
There were more in 2023,
there were more illegals who came across our border than there were Americans born.
You guys getting that?
Yeah, it makes sense.
So that is an actual stat that we know.
Or you can say it this way.
There were less Americans born than there were people who came across the border.
That's another way to say it.
Americans born, then there were people who came across the border. That's another way to say it.
So you are seeing, and I know people get mad when you say it's a replacement theory, but you're saying it's not a racial thing. It's an ideology thing. It's not that we don't want
brown and black people coming over the border or Chinese, I mean, there's a lot of them coming over
the border. It's that you're trying to bring in a population who hasn't already been sort of steeped in this American idea of liberty.
And they will be more easily, if you can start to activate it,
activated and susceptible and open to the social controls that they're trying to introduce
through digital currency, through all these camera stuff,
which ultimately is the Chinese credit score system.
And just so people understand.
To monitor you.
To track you, to monitor you,
to make sure you don't have any dangerous ideas,
to be tracking you at all times and controlling your,
and one of the things they want to do
is control your ability to access the internet
if you're not a good girl or a good boy.
They already did that during COVID.
Any child who was- They're Any child right now, Facebook and
Instagram are doing it. TikTok is doing it. But but just on in terms of like almost like a geo
fenced way at the universities, if you did not have if you were not vaccinated or if you violated
any COVID policies by, you know, gathering with your friends too closely and not having six,
you know, feet of distance and you were caught.
You had at the University of Wisconsin, you had a safer badger app and you couldn't get
into your dorm and you couldn't access the cafeteria, the cafeteria and you couldn't
access the Internet.
That's right.
If you did not follow the protocols and the mandates that were totally unconstitutional.
And by the way, probably physically harmed the bodies and fertility of many of these children,
these students. So it's already happening. It's happening on a massive scale. And the overlords
and the tech people who are putting this stuff, the oligarchs who are trying to put this thing
in place through the World Economic Forum, through the UN, through UNICEF, and through
our own liberal Democrat Party, these people that are trying to put this system in place
have a model in China. China is already very successfully doing it. So if you jaywalk in China,
they have face recognition that catches you because they have cameras everywhere.
And artificial intelligence that'll process that jaywalking in your face and then affect
your social credit score on your app that's assigned to you.
So you may not be able to get on an airplane or a train, or you may not be able to get
into the grocery store, or you may not be able to eat as much meat this month because
you were a naughty boy who jaywalked.
And so that's going to
affect your ability to buy to buy meat because they're going to have that it's part of your or
strictly if you just go i you ate too much you're a good little boy or girl that followed all the
rules but you ate too much meat this month they'll close you off from meat or if you use too many
you know too much energy in your car your house they'll shut you off again can i say this is a
it seems incredible what we incredible what you're hearing.
You may think it's crazy because you just can't imagine that there are weirdos who want
to control your life like that, but they exist.
It's called John Kerry, George Soros, Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab.
Look all these people up.
absolute, you know, soulless, faithless, megalomaniac, like sociopaths, and they have tons of money, and they have nothing else to do but sit around and think about how they're going
to create a new world order. So again, there were people who would talk to me about this when I was
running for Congress when I was in Congress. And I'm not gonna say the names, I know them well, they're friends of mine, but I was like, cuckoo, they're a little bit a little
bit odd. And a little bit off kilter. And, again, I'm late to the game. But if you see the changes
that are being made, with with cameras that go up with limitations on, you know, your access to social media apps or who can see
what you post on social media, who can say what about COVID, who can say what about masks.
You see with the things that people were talking about 10 or 15 years ago, it's starting to happen
now. And then you look at all the debt and you go, well, this is not sustainable.
It can't last.
And then you go, well, of course, it's not meant to last.
It's meant to collapse, to rebuild it.
And these ideas can seem, again, as you mentioned, a little crazy.
But if you just look around at all the things that happen and you try to make sense of it, I hope there's a different reason.
Yeah, me too.
I hope I'm wrong. reason. I hope there's a different reason for why they're doing this.
I wish I was wrong. And I've racked my brain and I can't think of another reason, especially when you listen to what the Klaus Schwab's at the WEF say.
When you listen to what the UN is saying, when you listen to what Bill Gates is saying, it's incredibly frightening.
They're not hiding.
They're not trying to be secretive about the Great Reset.
They're not.
They're being really honest about it.
And it's just we have to listen and then see the changes that take place in our societies and communities.
We'll be right back with much more after this.
Breaking news happens anywhere, anytime.

most. Stay in the know.
CBC News.
I have one last story, Sean. It's quick, but I
have to bring it up because it's really,
really interesting. I want to get
your perspective on this story
as a member of Congress. So you all know
who Mayra Flores is. She is
a Mexican-American.
She's running for Congress again.
So she won a seat, then she lost her seat. Now she's running again for that seat.
Correct. And this is a very important seat because, you know, the Hispanic vote is just
wildly important. And it's sort of like a bellwether seat. And so a lot of people think
as this seat goes, this will tell a lot about where the Hispanic community goes. And so she's a very interesting person, Mexican-American, proudly so. And I believe her husband is a border patrol,
is her husband a border patrol agent? I believe so. As 55% of our border patrol is, even though
they try and say they're racist, 55% are Hispanic. It's a Hispanic majority force. So obviously the left doesn't like her because she can speak about it without them being able to shoot racist arrows at her.
And it just deflects off of her, obviously.
Well, she also posts, like most politicians, things about her life.
And she posts about Mexican-American life, which if you're married to a Mexican-American, as you are, you know, we like food.
We like Mexican food. And I've got tacos right now in the slow cooker. I got, I got a
carnitas being made right now in the, in the slow cooker as we're doing this podcast. So she will
sometimes post, you know, you know, I don't know, huevos rancheros or she'll post, you know,
different things. Cause she, she spends a lot of time on the ranch.
And so there's ranch type of Tex-Mex that they eat there, and she'll post these photos.
Well, some people have found out.
They're calling this Grubgate.
Grubgate.
It's like a scandal, a big scandal.
Yes, so here's Grubgate.
Turns out that they're saying that some of these photos are from not that she didn't cook them.
Essentially, she's posting a photo of food that, you know, she may be talking about.
What was that? But that's a stock photo or a photo taken from some other Web site or some other cooking site. And she's posting it and people are just presuming that she made this food
and she's had to clarify in some cases she she just took down some to go listen okay i didn't
make the web was on channels i'm just saying this is what we have on these this certain time of year
when we're at the ranch and i and i was thinking about it and i posted it um so what do you make
of this is this is this a legit scandal well first off i don't know
what it is about latina women but rachel also when she cooks a meal she will present it and
and get it all perfectly positioned on the plate and then she'll take pictures i don't even post
it i just do it for myself so what is it with you people that want to take pictures of it well you
know what it's like you you make a piece of art and you just you know this piece of art is going
to be eaten and no one will remember it.
And I want to remember all the hours I slaved making, you know, the perfect tacos.
Listen, first of all, I think you don't want to deceive people.
Right. And so if you're posting pictures and there's an appearance that you actually cooked it, listen, that's a bad deal.
They're calling her the george santos
of food now maybe now again when you have when you don't have anything to attack someone on you
attack exactly what i was thinking like this so i get that but that's the worst thing they have on
my right is that those weren't her huevos rancheros okay but also you gotta be smarter than that
right you know i got this i already i was i went to a diner and this is the food that I have on my plate.
Or you got to give some indication.
But don't let people think that you cooked it when you make the post.
Because this comes back to some very simple rules about politics and politicians.
Donald Trump was the key to all of this.
It's like authenticity matters.
Do not lie.
Tell people the truth and be frank with them.
And even if they don't like what you have to say, they'll respect the fact that you're telling the truth.
So it's like in our family.
If you tell your kids, if you lie about small things, that means you're going to lie about big things.
I don't think I think a lie about.
Oh, come on, Sean.
I'm not saying that she will but i'm saying that that can be the interpretation of people who see it in our district and it's a
very close 50 50 seat so again is this stupid yes should you be smarter about when you post this
stuff yes is this going to cost her an election no it's not going to cost the election i i think
that i didn't hear about this wow i know so um what she could have done sean is she could have
said i'm on the campaign trail i wish i had more time to make my family the huevos rancheros or the
carnitas or whatever it is that she she the pictures were um so i have a taco bowl yeah
donald trump had the taco bowl on cinco de mayo
that was one of the most and then remember i happened to me i happened to be making tacos
and i turned it into a bowl for you and we did it we snapped a picture because everyone was saying
it was racist that donald trump said that the trump towers restaurant had the best taco bowl
and he posted that on cinco de mayo and. And so somehow I, as a Mexican woman, was supposed to be so offended.
And of course, I take anybody who loves Mexican food
or even Tex-Mex as a compliment.
Don't be offended if they want to change you
from a Latina to a Latinx.
Or don't be offended if Jill Biden calls me a breakfast taco.
True.
Or says, si se puede.
Here's the deal. Myra Flores is an incredibly talented and authentic Mexican-American woman.
She represents the kind of toughness, the kind of savvy and that you want in Congress.
And she represents her district well. So they are trying to undermine that.
You've always said here's another axiom of politics, Sean. They attack your strength.
So if you have a great family, they're going to go after your family.
If you're authentically Mexican and they can't say that you're a sellout as you talk about what's happening at the border, they have to attack your authenticity as a Mexican woman.
And by the way, conservative Hispanics have been, women in particular, have been getting this attack for a long time which is they want
to say that you aren't if you vote republican if you have conservative thoughts and ideas if you
dare to think outside of their little ideological plantation that they want you to be in and if you
dare go outside of those walls they are going to say that's because you're secretly white or they
used to or what they would say to me is they would say white passing. No,
they would call me.
Yeah.
White passing is another one.
I've heard that one.
I've heard on coconut Brown on the outside,
white on the inside.
They will try to undermine your,
your heritage to say that you're a fraud because you dare to not think the
way they want you to think.
And actually what they're doing is racist.
So can I just,
what I don't,
you told me the story. I love Myra Flores.
Didn't know it until you mentioned the story.
I purposely held the story
back because I wanted to get your instant
reaction to it. So another point I want to make,
you said that she took down some of the photos.
Okay? And she
had to clarify, right?
What would Donald, would Donald Trump
take down the photos? Never apologize to these jerks. What would Donald Donald Trump take on the photos?
Never apologize. He would actually attack the attackers.
He'd go after them and mock them for trying to attack her authenticity as a Mexican woman running in a Mexican seat on the Mexican border.
He'd be like bull. You know what Trump would would do and you know what that actually works you can't cower to these radical leftists and it's a bad sign if there's some cowering that
happened some pictures came down she should have actually gone on offense yeah is what you should
have done yeah i i agree i agree with that what's going to be agreed with um wow this and by the way
can i just tell you the george santos attacks don don't work either. I find him to be a fascinating figure.
I'm still lobbying Fox and Friends.
I want him to be my guest on Pop Culture, my weekend Pop Culture roundup.
I think George Santos would be great.
Two Republicans gone. Reliable votes.
George Santos, again, there's a two-seat majority now in the House.
It would have been three if they kept George Santos.
It would have been four if they had Kevin McCarthy.
But oh, no, it's more important to have a two seat majority than a four seat majority.
This goes back to why you're so angry.
By the way, if you want to catch so you can watch me on Fox and Friends.
Not tomorrow.
Take in Saturday off because it's a holy day for us.
The Feast of the Epiphany.
But I'll be out on Sunday.
