owning that thing you know he actually made it to the UFC yeah especially at the age he started fighter right he's on an alternate fighter he started fighting training for fighting I want to say in his mid-30s man because he played football he got hurt couldn't continue that and then he just uh you know was like a bodyguard and then he discovered uh more he could always fight but he could discover that he could take it to the next level and started training and made it all the way to you've seen had numerous wins against good guys and um he was also the most humble dude but yeah he asked me to come fight for his platform and i was like hell yeah bro like i wasn't expecting ever to get the hits that i got but i was just like man if i get 100 000 10 000 views it's still

amazing because i fucking don't nobody know me at the time you know so it's just crazy that he would invite me on his platform what was that at the time was it all just for like youtube views or was it just for fun or like were they like selling tickets you get paid at all yeah yeah you you get paid there was also bets going around a lot of betting but uh for for kimbo and his marketing team they they were amazing uh they knew that these videos were going to get millions of views and um on the corner of it if you go back to those videos it would say sublime directory the original videos and that subline directory took you to like this website database where it would have either porn or like um lime wire that thing where you could download music a bunch of things like

Yeah, yeah, line where it was a shit. Yeah, yeah, the fucking computer up. But yeah, I had all these things under this directory. And this is how they were blowing up. There's like street beefs and shit like that But I mean so he would just tell you like Hey this will be good for you And you were just trying to get into fighting So you're like I'll fight somebody No no I was I was already pretty In the fight world I wasn't known or nothing

But I was in the fight world As far as like training competing Had some amateur bouts already Grappling competitions And I was already This was gonna be the rest of my life Which I knew I was gonna do You know

So, and just so happened We're at the same gym He was like, man, you want to come compete in my backyard And back then it was very illegal So you couldn't organize those things They would get shut down And you'd get arrested

It was like, like illegal street racing Or worse, you know? So at first he told me, he's like, Hey, you want to throw down? I was like, hell yeah They got my info. They're like, all right, it's going to be The next one's going to take place

About three, four months, we'll hit you up. I didn't talk to him for like Two months at least, nothing. Not a peatman. nothing then all of a sudden they hit me up they're like hey you still want to go i was like hell yeah they're like we'll be getting in contact with you within like two weeks three weeks you know and they wouldn't give you the address or any details of when it was going to be or where it was going to be to the day up because they were so worried that you know people to show up

police and and shut it down so uh i mean they call me like a week into it maybe like wednesday thursday i'm not sure and i was literally at macdonald was getting some lunch and they're like yo you ready to throw down and i was just about to place my order and i was like uh yeah let's go send me the address boom they send me the address said we're gonna start in two hours to just make your way on over didn't get the meal of course fucking went straight to uh the spot and i get there and i hey kimball's gonna throw down first and i'm like all right hell yeah i'm gonna get to watch kimball fucking do his thing you know and i'm warming up i'm chilling cambo pulls up and like escalate opens the door you never seen so much smoke come out of a car

in your mother fucking life there's big ass chain he takes it off he gives it to his boy boxing it? Hot boxing. Oh, God, I think he gets out, gets a chain this boy, fucking walks on over the dude, no warming up, nothing. Immediately they start throwing down, he knocks him out, like two minutes into it. So you show up on site and they just say, hey, you're fighting this guy? Yeah, I had no idea who the guy was.

Would he look like weight, his background, any of that stuff? So then as I'm warming up, they're like, all right, the dude you're going to fight. He's going to fight another dude, and then he's going to fight you. And I was like, what? He's like, yeah, yeah, he wants to fight this other dude first, and he's going to fight you. And I was like, well, shit, that's his death wish. Whatever, you know what I'm saying? I'm a smoke this dude.

But if he wants to do all that, all right, cool. And as I'm warming up, boom, he knocks a guy out like an under minute. And the dudes I was with, they come running and go, bro, this guy's got a fucking good right hand, man. Be careful. Just keep your hands up. He's got a really good right hand. So that's all I knew about the dude, period. His name is rare.

I went in and ended up being a fucking crazy tough fight, man. It was a good one, man. Did you get the dub? Yeah, I got the win. What do you think is your Kimbo Slicest Backyard record? With Kimball 2 and O. 2 and O in the back? Yeah.

How did you get that first, like, call from the UFC or whatever it was? Complicated. I have fought in numerous shows, and I got an office from the UFC, but they were very, you know, very not good in the beginning for me. And I was flying overseas in Japan. And then that show went, like, bankrupt.

And then I came back to the States. And I was fighting for the show called Strike Force. Strike Force ended up getting purchased by UFC. And that's how I became part of the company. yeah damn did you watch this last card of course hell yeah what what are your thoughts on the Pereira fight the fucking Lopez last minute shit four hour replacement that's what fighting's all about how much respect is that I'm blanking on the bro's name yeah yeah yeah how much respect does that guy get stud you know the the definition of a warrior fighter and that's like

205 let him do his thing let him submit himself at 205 before they have him move up to tool to heavyweight with nothing but uncomfortable matchup guys that are not going to stand with him for a second they're just going to look to take him down smother him drop the weight on him the wrestling on him so i i definitely person would like to keep seeing him at two oh five i think there's some good matchups they could still come about but uh whatever he does i'll be watching man i'm a huge fan of perera man yeah huge fan of jiri as well yeah you You talked about the Sanjo Rogan and you got kind of deep with the Uzman knockout, right? When you went through that, when you watched Pereira and Jerry go through that shit,

you said it affected you deeply for a few days or whatever, a long time. So do you talk about what he's going through? Like, I think he said, I got to level up or I'm done. Is that kind of... Well, in my case, it was the first one of, like, 50-something fights, you know? Jiri has been knocked out before and he's bounced back, like, incredibly. So I don't think this knockout is... It's going to be that bad.

Like, I think you'll bounce back, and he just has, like, that strong mind. In my particular case, it was, like, my first one ever. So I was in a weird spot, and especially if a guy that I had already fine, and I was like, this guy's the last guy that ever knocked me out. Like, I felt his hands already. This guy won't. If you couldn't beat me in six-day notice, cutting 20 pounds, he's not going to knock me out, you know? And it was fucking very shocking, very surprised to me.

But in Jerry's case, he's been there ready and got a knock down and came right back, in one world championship so i i feel like uh he's just got to like fundamentally change some things and you'll get himself right back on track you know because he's got the spirit and he's got the heart to do it is it more in that is it in like that case is it more a physical thing like yo i don't want to get hurt like this or is it more like a mental state like i can't believe that fucking happened to me it's a combination because if you've never if you've never been knocked out you know it's this invincibility or that you have yourself it's like i well i can't be knocked out I might get hurt.

I might drop a shot, but I'll will my way through it. I'll fight my way through this, you know? Once that happens, it's like, fuck, you know. And then one thing that happens is your chin only gets worse. Your chin doesn't get better the more hits it takes. It doesn't work like that. It's not like a muscle where you just, like, work it out by getting clocked on the chin. It actually gets worse and worse.

And the first time you got knocked down, and if you get knocked out again, it only gets like easier and easier. That's why usually it's good six months to a year to take off if you've been knocked out. cold like that you know because you want your brain to heal your brain just went through all types of shit in those quick seconds you know it might look like not a lot like i'll give him a month you'll be back but it takes some time you know no no impact to the brain you got to respect that process it's honestly crazy too because i even think of i fucking think of ronda rousey like she fucking retired after fucking katie holmes right like that shit can really fuck you up or holly

and if you're the B side and he's the A side he's going to want more money because he has more belts and all this thing and you also get a piece of the gate you also get a piece of the merch which a lot of us don't get that in the UFC like nobody gets a piece of the gate in the UFC to be honest with you so in boxing is

completely different that's why a lot of these megafights don't take places sometimes so years later because they're they're fighting over who's going to get more percentages who's going to get more in the pay-per-view end all this stuff so it's completely different than than the UFC is the UFC, they're going to tell you what you're worth. they're going to tell you how much pay-per-view you can get. So the model's completely different. And all these fighters under one roof, the UFC, in boxing, you have top rank, you have the English promoters, and you have the zone, which is a network, but they have promoters.
