He looked at me and I looked at him and he got all giddy. Like, I think he does love me. Yeah. Did you get all giddy and so? And then
Starting point is 00:02:48 you walked behind. I looked at how and I was like, that dude is freaking massive. Welcome to dudes on dudes. I'm Julian Edelman. I'm Rob. Grankowski. And this is the show where your favorite dudes get to talk about their favorite dudes. And we have Black Friday football today. Who are we talking about today? A big time receiver who is a big fan of you, Julian. And then we talk about one of the best young QBs in the league today. And then we wrap it up by pulling back the current on life in the NFL. Dudes on Dudes is a production of i heart radio and we have a football game tonight which is amazing and it starts
Starting point is 00:03:38 at 5 p.m here even better always i know but i love it you never get to experience that yeah no i mean i do when i'm here but i haven't been out here in a while do you like so you like you rather have so the football games on the east coast should the late game should start at like six or six 30 and like three or three 30 here man that would be so perfect the east coast games when they're at 830 at night brutal on players, brutal on athletes. Other side, though, I enjoyed when I was on the East Coast in retirement when I could go have a Sunday brunch and then go watch football. So in L.A., you could have a dinner after football,
Starting point is 00:04:17 but you can't have brunch because you start at 10. Yes. But in the East Coast, you could have the breakfast, but you ain't have a dinner. Yeah, but you can have the brunch while watching a football game, which is the best of both scenarios. No, on the East Coast, you're having brunch waiting for the football. I like to be dialed into the game, though. No, no, I'm not bad.
Starting point is 00:04:34 If you're having a weekend brunch, the way we used to have weekend brunch. Yeah, you want to be dialed in on the weekend brunch. I know what you mean, actually. You're right. Your brunches had nothing to do with the game that's going on. You were too distracted. Weekend brunch. Weekend brunch.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Well, we got Black Friday football this year. Yes, yes, we do. Black Friday, baby. Eagles versus Bears, that is. Eagles Bears. Oh, two kind of Black Friday. teams. Why does that mean? Because
Starting point is 00:05:02 I don't know. I just said it. Now I got to think of a reason why I said it. Maybe because Because the Bears have been terrible the last couple years, so their tickets were on sale. And now?
Starting point is 00:05:18 And now they're putting them on Black Friday thinking that they're going to be shitty again, but they're not. But they're not. So what about Philly? Philly Black Friday, because they're tickets got so expensive. They finally wanted to slash the prices a little bit. So they're on Black Friday?
Starting point is 00:05:34 Yeah, so they're on Black Friday as well. That's actually a great explanation. Yes, there we go. See? I'm like Dola. Dola can adjust to any situation. Any situation. That's a superpower that you were talking about before we got on this show that
Starting point is 00:05:45 Danny Dola can adjust to anything. Anything. It doesn't matter if he's hurt, if he's not. And I had just adjusted to why I said that Eagles and Bears are Black Friday football teams. And that's what we do here on. dudes on dudes. How was your Thanksgiving? My Thanksgiving was great, man. It was amazing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I was up in Buffalo. You know, Buffalo's great. That's where I grew up, got to see the family. I did the game, the Thanksgiving game in Detroit. Yes. Favorite side? Lions versus Packers. The game was awesome, man. It was so much fun. Great atmosphere there. And my favorite Thanksgiving side, I got to go with stuffing, no doubt about that. I mean, if the turkey's dry, if the ham's dry, you got to have a, side that's kind of on the wetter side so then you can mix it together and then it goes down very easily because you got to shove that protein you know in your body as well you can't just eat sides
Starting point is 00:06:39 and when the protein's dry it makes Thanksgiving bad but you can fix it with a nice side that can you know it kind of happened on my flight I was on a flight the other week and this like they had this mushroom side that was so good and then the steak was so damn dry it was like eating a hockey puck but I had to eat the hockey puck because it was protein so I just shoved the mushrooms on the hockey puck and just ate it all at once so if the protein is dry you got to lean on the side there we go you know we got Black Friday rapper Jules in the house I'm on Flobation right now Flobation remember I was getting flobation in the locker room all the time this is getting naughty here on black Friday oh man deals are popping up everywhere deals are are popping, but... I'm sure, uh, I'm sure my brother Dan, you know, has some deals going on with Grong Fitness.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Got to be. The Grong Shaker? Yeah. Ice Shaker. My brother Chris has, yes, let's love. Speaking about Black Friday, my brother Chris for sure has Black Friday deals going down at Ice Shaker.com. Ice Shaker.
Starting point is 00:07:43 My brother, Dan runs, you know, the Grank Fitness side, the fitness side, online edition. So Dan, I already saw him promoting Black Friday as well. Discounts. Yes. So get discounts all over the place. So gronkfitness.com and Ice Shaker. dot com. I'm just trying to help my brothers out now. 25% off with this uh promo code ice shaker dude ice 25 for 25% off on black Friday you know it's a holiday sell get it now get your
Starting point is 00:08:10 ice shaker now and hey no lie my brother Chris is kind of a genius I saw I was his roommate in college he was selling fish there he was mating fish and then selling them a while like we get back from a party at like 1 a m and he's some like person from craigslist coming over buying I was like, dang, drinks on you. And, but he just came out with this brand new ice shaker. It's a 40 ounce one and it's badass. It's the best shaker in the game. It's 40 ounces fits right in the cup holder in your car still.
Starting point is 00:08:40 And I'm telling you, this is the home run shaker. I want to get this shaker, 40 ounces. You can get a lot of protein in there. We got to get them here. A lot of protein. You know, and then what? Do we also have the gronk Friday 10 for 10% off, gronk fitness? I mean, come on, Dan.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Just 10%. sent off like what the heck like Chris is giving 25% off of his products yeah we got to get some products yeah at least get it to 20% we got to get some nut house products out there so we can do we got do we got no house products no no everyone asked for these hats everyone asked for the dudes hats no yeah one day we'll we'll be giving out not house products and we're going to at least 30% off at least at least there'll be 700 hats we'll give them 30% we'll give them 30% off. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:28 All right. Let's jump into our first dude. Let's do it. Would we have AI? All right. So we're back on track. We're back. We're getting back to the formation or formulation that is.
Starting point is 00:09:41 The formulation. Yeah. The formation of the formulation. That's where I was going to. Formation of the formulation template. I'm getting back to, you know, grading what type of dude a dude is. In the locker room. In the locker room.
Starting point is 00:09:55 In the locker room. And we got two dudes today, and let's get to it. Let's get back to the AI summary. It's been a while. It's been a while. All right, here we go. I love these. I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:10:04 All right. Here we go. AI summary of the first dude on Black Friday. At 6 foot 1, 226 pounds. This wide receiver was selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft and became a two sports standout at Ole Miss University. And his seven years in the NFL. he has earned three Pro Bowl selections won a Super Bowl and had
Starting point is 00:10:29 back-to-back 1,400-yard seasons. Sheesh! Known for his rare blend of power and downfield precision, he's become one of the most consistently dominant past catchers of his era. Let's get on, A.J. Brown. A.J. Brown.
Starting point is 00:10:46 And J. Wells, what's the first thing you think of when you hear the name, A.J. Brown. Swole, Batman. He just looks like a. Swole Batman out there, especially in those Eagle Unis. He's been an absolute stud since the day he walked into the league. And it's great that we're doing him on Black Friday because he's an absolute deal for the
Starting point is 00:11:09 offense. Yeah, he's getting paid like a wide receiver, but he doesn't get the throws that he deserves. If he was on another team that just airs out the ball, this guy would be going for 1,400 yards seasons back to back all the time. But he's on this Philadelphia Eagles offense where they're run. basis first so it's kind of like he's a black friday deal in a way because he's being a team player by you know just doing his role still blocking for the running backs down the field so so in that way this is great that we're that we're on a j brown here on black friday yeah my guy's a little
Starting point is 00:11:45 frustrated isn't he is frustrated that's where you can get the best discounts though is when someone's frustrated you get discounts yeah it's black friday jules we're looking for the best deals and frustration you know you know gets a company to lower their prices so they can get things moving and that's what's going to happen with a j brown he's frustrated you got to get him the ball and he's going to dominate when the ball's thrown him just like he was last year he was frustrated last year guess what his name his number was called and he stepped up in the biggest moments when that ball was thrown to him why are you pissed come on because we should have had him He win the second round
Starting point is 00:12:21 The Patriots should have drafted A.J. Brown. He wanted to be a Patriot. He loves the Patriot. I left him a little note. Tom signed the this. He's covered the Patriots his whole life. Two sport athletes. How come he wasn't a Patriot?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Well, let's explain why he wasn't a Patriot. Who was drafted before him? Let's go with all the receivers drafted before him that year first. Let's start with that. We drafted Nikiel Harry in the first. Keel Harry was the first pick for the Patriots. I don't want to get on a bashing to Keel Harry. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:12:54 Yeah. But that's why I said that. All right. That's why. Who else was drafted before A.J. Brown that year. You got a Marquise Brown. Understandable. I mean, explosiveness, you know, downfield speed, had a great college career.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I hope that they can continue to have the mental toughness to keep that thing going in Philly. and you know they're winning ball games that's what it's all about and that they're winning ball games and that's tough it is it's it's tough to win in the NFL and jules let's go back a little bit like you know he sent you uh no you sent him a jersey tom sent him a jersey and i was like dang like he's not even a grot fan like this thing's like jill sent a jersey a j brown was all pumped up because i'm a j brown fan because i like we always talk about bigger guys that can move i'm always intrigued by them in whatever sport it is and a j brown's one of those freak at like got athletes that so big but also can run so well and doesn't get tired so i was like dang like i want to send him a jersey
Starting point is 00:13:58 so like that just never came about but here we go this is what you know satisfied my my feelings is that you know we were in kansas city for the game yeah when we were on the sidelines at the booth you know calling the game for fox um week two when it was the super bowl rematch and a j brown was walking down the tunnel and I kind of walked by him and like he looked at me and I looked at him and he got all giddy like all smile and I was like oh I think he does love me yeah did you get I got all giddy too and I walked behind I looked at how and I was like that dude is freaking massive he's even bigger in person that was the first time I've ever saw him live I go how the hell can he run like that like this dude looks like a tight end he looks bigger than the hback tight ends
Starting point is 00:14:47 That's how massive he is. But, you know, that gave me a little boost. I was like, yes. Yes, I'm part of the Brady and Jules crew. A.J. Brown's got to hit up the pod and ask Gronk for a jersey. He feels left out. Yeah, I do. I mean, come on.
Starting point is 00:15:03 How about him being a two-sport athlete, though? Yeah. What is he a baseball player? Play baseball. That's freaking insane. He got drafted by the Padres, I believe, in the 19th round. He found a loophole and signed a pre-NIL deal to get paid reported to Padres facilities two days a year
Starting point is 00:15:21 and would get a hundred K total for this did it for three years before getting drafted by the Titans so he was in college making money 100K playing two days a week or year he's kind of smart yeah that's that's whizzy being yeah whizzy you know finding a formula to get paid still what did you get drafted right out of high school then yeah That had to be out of high school, right?
Starting point is 00:15:48 For real, though, if you get drafted to the high school as a baseball player, you should be able to take the signing bonus and still go play football in college, like right then and be like, like, because the program, the baseball program should be taking the chance. Like, you should still be able to take the money
Starting point is 00:16:03 if they take you and be like, I'll decide if I'm going to play. Kind of hockey. I'm going to decide if I'm going to come play baseball or if I'm going to continue with the football career, but thanks for the money and that's on you guys, but I am loyal to you if I come to the baseball side. yeah yeah i like that now i like that he did go viral recently for what for the twitch thing where
Starting point is 00:16:25 he said to his fantasy owners get rid of me my guy's just he i feel i feel hurt that he's so hurt all receivers want the ball that's how but we just got to it's frustration it's frustration it is and because he just wants to be a part of it and he knows i mean he is a part of it and this is why is on Black Friday. You know, this is why we're talking about him because he wants his fans to get the best deals out there. So he knows he's not the best deal to be on a fantasy team right now. So he's telling his fans to go pick up another guy. Like, A.J. Brown is like, knows all the deals out there. I mean, this guy, whatever company he has, if he's with any company or he ever started company, his Black Friday deals, must be amazing right now. It's got probably like 65% off.
Starting point is 00:17:12 It's just how good of a guy he is telling people to drop him. So they, they're going to, they can have a better fantasy team. I get it. But A.J. Brown should never be, you know, dropped on a fantasy team. No. Never. Because he's, I, well, he, he's going to have a huge game. He's, he's like a bottled lightning, ready to just come out at any time.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And he also likes to read on the sideline, the inner, uh, inner excellence. Remember he was reading that book versus the Packers. It was number one bestselling book on. Amazon that next Monday we should we should get them uh we should get them something to read we got we got to do like a book have them read it on the sideline maybe it'll go to amazon number one selling it already happened yeah but maybe you want it to happen again got to happen again got to happen again do you think that he's going to come through for the philadelphia eagles at a crucial time and moment you know for the
Starting point is 00:18:16 for the Eagles in the playoffs this year? I do. I do think he will. Like, is it going to be their, you know, first round, second round? They're going to need to pick that offense up. They're down a little bit, and Jalen Hurts is just going to air it out, and AJ Brown's just going to come through for a hundred-plus yard game, a touchdown or two, because he's due.
Starting point is 00:18:36 He's due. He's definitely due. I mean, his first year in Philly, I mean, he absolutely bawled out. His first game there, 10 receptions, 150. targets broke single season record for receiving yards with 1496 you know and then he does it you know like so like he has it in there and he hasn't slowed down I think he's due and they'll get it to go they'll get it going like what people don't realize they don't have the same offensive line you know what I mean they don't have there's a lot to it and they're beat up a
Starting point is 00:19:07 little bit they're a little beat up lane's been out now he'll be out missing some time it's it's hard football's the ultimate team sport so what's the skill so that you say that makes AJ Brown such a great player. Yes, we know his size and he's got quickness, but what really makes A.J. Brown. A.J. Brown is a great receiver. Yes. I see him when he hits those slants or those under-routes and he's got a guy
Starting point is 00:19:33 in his back running full speed. He can run full speed and pluck that ball out of the air with guy on him and keep running and break the tackle. Like, he's just massive and he's got strong hands. And what's also so great about him, too, is he can make the contested catches because he's so much bigger than every defensive back or safety that he's going against. So he can kind of box him out. Kind of like I'm surprised like he didn't have or doesn't have a basketball background.
Starting point is 00:20:04 It's a baseball background because the way that he can, you know, make those contested catches and use his body is also what makes him such a great player being at that size. And then the quickness, too, to just have that burst and take off, you know, is. It's pretty, you know, pretty satisfying big time. We need a Gronkstra-Domis prediction. How will he do in today's Black Friday game? Well. Bears' defense, 27th ranked right now. Really?
Starting point is 00:20:31 They're giving up, you know, yards to receivers out there. Total defense. You want to know what's crazy, the Bears' defense was like number one, like at beginning of the year. Everyone's like, oh, the Bears' defense, that's the only way they're going to win games. And now, like, they're winning games because of the offense as well. But they also, they may be a bad total defense, but they lead the league in takeaways. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:51 So it's one of those. So if you lead the league and takeaways, that actually is kind of better to be in that position than being like the number one defense in the league with no takeaways. Exactly. Yeah, it's kind of similar. You know, you can play with it. You can play with that. A lot of variables that go into it.
Starting point is 00:21:05 But A.J. Brown, it's Black Friday. The guy's giving deals all over the place. He has been giving deals to Philadelphia Eagles for however long now. I mean, he was a steal. in the draft in the second round. So he's got to go off this game. He's going for over 100 plus yards and at least one touchdown, baby.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Let's go. And the Eagles win as well. Eagles win. Eagles win. And, uh, uh, Jules, can you reveal what you wrote to AJ
Starting point is 00:21:35 and that note you left, you know, during the Super Bowl? I'll leave that between us. I'll leave that between us. But it came true. They became Super Bowl champions. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:44 because everyone wants to know. Can you tell me like... I'll tell you off this. Off air? Off air. All right. Thank you. That's a good friend right there.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Ty. What kind of dude is A.J. Brown? Is he a stud? Is he a freak or a dog or a whiz? I mean, we know he loves to read books. Loves reading books and he had the NIL deal. Is he a dude's dude? I mean, he has been because, you know, very frustrated, but, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:12 he's letting the frustration be known. which is kind of understandable, you know, but he's still being a dude's dude by doing his job. Doing his job still and blocking down the field. Blocks down the field? Yeah. You know, I... But I think it's an easy one.
Starting point is 00:22:27 I mean, just watching him play the game. Like I said, he's bigger than some H-backs. It's faster than linebackers. He's faster than D-Bs. And just the way that you were talking about his hand strength is just uncomparable to basically every other wide receiver in the game. Right now. On three.
Starting point is 00:22:44 One, two, three. Freak. He's definitely a freak. He's a freak. Guys, baseball player, football player, Monster at both, probably. Man, you'd love to have them on your team. He's going to turn it around this year.
Starting point is 00:23:01 They'll finish strong. They'll finish strong. We'll be right back after this quick break. I'm Kristen Davis, host of the podcast. Are You a Charlotte? The most anticipated guest from season three, is here. The tray to my Charlotte. Kyle McLaughlin joins me to relive all of the magical Trey and Charlotte moments. He reveals what he thinks of Trey giving Charlotte a cardboard baby.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Why would I bring her a cardboard baby? I was literally, I was like, this doesn't track for me at all. When he found out Trey's shortcomings, I'm kind of excited at talking about, you know, I think he's a guy spends time in Central Park, you know, he's probably, you know, he'll be some surgery stuff, you know, and I was like all this kind of stuff going on. and they were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, fine. And they said, but he's impotent. And I was like, he's impotent. And why he chose not to return to it just like that.
Starting point is 00:23:52 They came and presented an idea, and I was like, I get, I see it. It's so kind of a one joke idea. You don't want to miss this. Starting point is 00:27:41 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, let's jump on to our next dude. All right. Our next dude, let's get on to the AI summary, Jules. AI summary. This is great. I miss these AI summaries. Oh, how do you think AI is doing on Black Friday?
Starting point is 00:27:56 Everyone's probably like, hey, AI, AI, where's the best deal? What's the best discount? I'm trying to buy some shorts. Where can I get 70% off? Well, you can get 30% off. Oh, where? with the gronk ice shaker now that's only 25% oh 25 yeah yeah I would have told me that yeah but yeah I know where you can get 30% off in the future we're going to be at least 30% off
Starting point is 00:28:18 nut house product at least 30% if we ever if we ever if we ever if we do if we do if we do but it'll be 30% off all right here we go a i summary number two born and raised in Washington, D.C. He is a 6-foot-1, 226-pound quarterback who was selected first overall in the 2024 NFL draft. After playing at both Oklahoma and USC, he won the Heisman trophy in 2022 and was a unanimous All-American. In his sophomore season, he is trying to lead his team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Let's get on Caleb Williams. Williams. Jules.
Starting point is 00:29:03 What's the first thing you think of when you hear the name Caleb Williams? New Age swag. Ooh, and why's that? Can you explain more, going to more detail? He's the young generation. He's what it's going to be. Like, you know, when we were young, we had our flair. He's got his flair.
Starting point is 00:29:25 You know, he paints his fingernails. He's very, he's like the first NIL. quarterback if you think about it he's like the first kid that made money in college that had all these pressures and now transferred into the national football league he's the beginning of what you know we're gonna see and it's a great thing yeah it is a great thing and also kind of like he was the first one to you know get all those n iL deals too but also one of the first ones to when that transfer puller open and all that crazy stuff in college football he was one of the biggest stories, you know, biggest players ever to go from Oklahoma as a starter and then go all the way.
Starting point is 00:30:06 What, did he win the Heisman trophy at Oklahoma? No, he won at USC, but he was the starter at Oklahoma and then transferred to USC. And that was one of the biggest storylines because he was the biggest player in college football at the time. And that kind of led the path to other players, you know, being able to do that now and have that, you know, determination, hey, I can transfer and become a starter still and dominate at another. program and even win a Heisman trophy just like he did at USC also like players following coaches because Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma went to USC kind of like the Indiana guy brought like his half his roster to Indiana when he went there from where where did that Indiana guy come from James Madison
Starting point is 00:30:48 and he brought James Madison players to Indiana so he brought James Madison players to a power five conference and still dominating I love that guy Indiana dude he has all two star players and they just played together. It's like the Patriots. That was two years ago. Yeah. Yeah. Now they've, they've gotten some guys and they, you know, shit. All right. Well, let's get back to Caleb. Let's get back to Caleb. But, you know, curveball. We can, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:13 you know, hit the curveball when it's thrown at us real quick. Yeah. Kurt Signetti. Kirk Signetti. All right. What makes Caleb Williams so special, Jules? I think the improv ability. he's he's not a big big guy but he's like a strong runner if you watch him in the pocket he's for me like he's got a great knack of the pocket sometimes it hurts him because he does it too much he's he's a lot faster than what you think he's he can make any throw on the field he's
Starting point is 00:31:54 got a laser of an arm like when you watch him throw those deep in cuts he puts him right on those guys' freaking shoulder pads, like, right in between their chest. He can zoom the ball. And I think it's that improv, that Patrick Mahomes kind of thing that, like, really got him hot in college. Like, he's his ability to make the play after the play broke down. You know, you see a lot of that specialness. It's been real fun to watch him with Ben Johnson this year because, you know, the NFL,
Starting point is 00:32:23 when you have those kind of escape abilities, those are great. but those are great like five times of games maybe six times a game a lot of pro football is like not making mistakes getting your team in the right call executing what's going on and then you know to have the ability to use that superpower when it's controlled is like the ultimate so like he it's been really fun to watch him this year because he's kind he's he's morphing into a pro quarterback in front of our eyes. Mm-hmm. You know, because
Starting point is 00:32:56 that escape stuff is awesome. It is. It's like he's a magician out there sometimes. His athletic ability is what really rises him to the top because he can make all the throws. He can dot the eyes and cross the T's as a quarterback with the football when throwing it across the field
Starting point is 00:33:14 or a deep ball. But then to have that athletic ability and be able to make, you know, things happen on the fly is what truly, truly makes them special. And then you pair him up with a guy, a guy that has so much knowledge like Ben Johnson who knows how to utilize a quarterback like him. And that's why you're seeing the success this year. The bears are like, what, like seven, three right now, eight and three, right now going into this Black Friday game. And just the ability for him to make the wows throws.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And then his athletic system paired up with Ben Johnson is what flipped this program from last year. and also the ability to protect him. Last year, he was the most sacked quarterback in the NFL as a rookie. Like, how can you have, like, what is it? Like, confidence, that's what it is. How can you have confidence as a rookie if you're getting sacked as the highest sack player in the NFL as just a young buck? Like, there's no confident built up.
Starting point is 00:34:12 So we're protecting him this year as well. And he's showing his ability now and why he's such a great quarterback and was taking number one overall. 1,000% and you got to, you know, the Bears helped him out by getting Dalman, Jackson, and Tuny to solidify the front, you know, the... Shout out to Tooney. Old Toonie still doing it. Is Toony going to go to, the bear's going to go to the Super Bowl this year just because Tune's on the team? I mean, Tune is a good luck charm.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Yeah, he sure is. Maybe Tune's the guy. Yeah, great guy. He is. Great guy. But, you know, Caleb, he really is pretty good with pressure, man. think about it. Like the amount of pressure that he's had coming into his NFL career, the amount all the sports talk shows talk about him, his every move, his every good throw,
Starting point is 00:35:01 his every bad throw, his every mishaps, his every, you know, time he looks, his body language, his this, like he's under a huge microscope. And it's been really cool to see him ignore the noise still be himself still be himself but ignore the noise and really get wrapped up in what in what the game's really about the preparation the going out and executing on Sundays and the making the relationships with your teammates like that's been kind of I I feel like that's been showed on the TV when I'm watching them you know getting better and better yeah it's not perfect but he you got to realize this is third system in three years this is a completely different system than last year, you know, that that's, that's tough stuff.
Starting point is 00:35:50 That's tough stuff, especially from a guy that was in the shotgun most of his career until this point. You know, getting under that center, getting your hand on that center's ball sack, like, that's a different game. The footwork, the where your eyes are at the line of scrimmage, the communication, like, it's been really fun to watch. And I hope he has a great, like, finish to the year. because this is when this is when the season really is is really when you're you're judged is by this part of the yeah Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is it and now it's Black Friday and now it's Black Friday it's a day after Thanksgiving so you can really judge the performance of a player and a team but what's one thing Caleb can work on that can take the bears to the next level as well we got he's got all
Starting point is 00:36:36 these traits that makes him so good but there's always something someone you know a player can work on no matter you know what what type of player you are in the NFL position. What's one thing that he could truly get better at that will help not just himself but the team as well? I think what he's doing right now, his operational skills, his ability to communicate in the huddle, both plays with the personnel group, his ability to get to the line of scrimmage and he's got to be able to look and see the field like the offensive a coordinator does. He, you know, he needs to improve on just playing a little more boring football.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Get the ball out, you know, for the next down. Get the ball out to our checkdown. And he's doing these things, not at like the Rapid Pro All-Time winning quarterback level yet, but like that's what he has to do. He needs to improve on the boring football. He needs to improve on taking the layups. He needs to improve on not taking the hip. which he had he's been sacked half his left he's not he's only been sacks i think 16 times this
Starting point is 00:37:44 year you know going into last weekend whatever so like he's he's they've done that they've taken care of that but the boring layup footballs he needs to get better at that i think and he's doing that and he'll get better at that with time on task in the system yes so we're saying how much he improved from his rookie season to his second year but there's one piece that we're missing i'm not sure if it was fake news or if it was real news but in the off season i read that he went on the Tom Brady diet. Remember that? Did you go on TB 12 day?
Starting point is 00:38:14 Do you guys remember that? Like, I wasn't sure if that was fake news or real news. And if it's real, do you think that's helping him out? TB12 method? The TB12 method? It could. Remember that guys? That was all over the place.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Did, did, did, is this the reason why he's having such a great year? Did he contact Alex? No, strawberries? I don't know. I don't know about the body treatment part, but I read that he was doing his whole entire diet. No dairy. He's doing, if this is true, I mean, I want to know if he's really sticking to it and if this is helping him or not. So since starting the diet, he can no longer eat dairy, milk, cheese, yogurt, or ice cream, no beer, no wine, no any alcoholic beverages,
Starting point is 00:39:03 sausage, bacon, deli meats, red meats, all should be avoided. Bread, pasta, cereal, baked Goods. See you later. Pre-packaged snacks, chips, cookies? I don't think so. White sugar, high fruit crows, corn syrup, and refined sugars, not a chance. Yeah. Cakes, pastries, and candies, see ya, wheat, rye, barley, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, beans, lentils, chickpeas, soy products, trans fats, hydrogenic oils, coffee, caffeinated teas, or enabated teas, or energy drinks, packaged fruits, fruit juices that are not 100%. We get it. And serving fruit.
Starting point is 00:39:48 And I swear to God, if there is table salt, you're done. No MSG either. If he has any table saw, even one little nugget of a drip of a table saw, that's an interception. Interception. Interception right there on the spot. That's why he's full, full Helium salt. What is it, Himalayan? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:06 He's the pink salt. Yes. Oh, man. good for him you know what that tells me everything you just read off I think I've had since last night I mean I was at Shake Shack
Starting point is 00:40:20 I had a double cheeseburg I had the confetti milkshake for the holiday season that tasted like ice cream cake it was the most ridiculous thing of all time the fried chicken nuggets all the soy sauce that can barbecue sauce that had probably everything in it
Starting point is 00:40:35 and fries you know who's not eating that right now Yeah. Caleb. Yep. He's not. And that's why he's having his best season. That is why.
Starting point is 00:40:43 It's the TV. You know, but there is something to be said. All jokes aside, if he is committing to something like that, that's what you want to see your quarterback. A hundred percent. That means he's truly focusing and cares about his craft, and that's why he's having such a great year issue. Yeah. Yeah. If you're taking care of yourself like that, that means you are also going to concentrate on football just like the way you're taking care of yourself.
Starting point is 00:41:04 It's in all facets of life. It does. It trickles down to everything, then. Will he be the first bear to throw for 4,000 yards? I mean, what's crazy is for such a historic program, there has never been a quarterback that has thrown for 4,000 yards, which is kind of sad for the Chicago franchise. Like, I think, though, that he will become the first 4,000 yard quarterback.
Starting point is 00:41:25 This year? He's got 2,300 right now, seven games to go. Maybe, maybe this year. That's a possibility if all of a sudden they just turn up the Jets even more. But I think in the future, if not this year, I think it's going to happen with him. he will be the first to hit 4,000 yards. Lastly, we need the Gronkstra Damis prediction.
Starting point is 00:41:44 What will Caleb Williams stat line be today on Black Friday? Oh, well, this guy ain't no discount. I can tell you that. He was getting paid in college, big money. Big money. He got first round pick. He's getting big money. So he ain't no discount.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Philly defense. He's like a designer brand. Philly defense. The designer brand don't give discounts. How do I know? because I tried negotiating for discounts in designer brand stores when I was buying a dress for Camille and they were just looking at me with like five eyes like uh excuse me big man we don't give discounts here not even 10% wait so this is Caleb Williams you went to like uji or something you were
Starting point is 00:42:25 trying to no it was at uh Dulcea cabana yeah we bought a dresser but you got to let camille tell the story about me you tried to me negotiating at this story it's class she will tell the story one day dude you'll be dying laughing it's just it's not really me trying to get discount it's just me trying to be shits and giggles and just see what I can pull off and get the laugh but that's Caleb Williams he's a designer
Starting point is 00:42:48 brand he ain't no discount which is understandable so oh he he's gonna go for the Eagles defense Eagles defense big day and Joe I don't know the Eagles are winning this game I already said but Caleb Williams he's still gonna
Starting point is 00:43:04 you know do decent he's gonna go for like throw for like 210 right around 210 yards and like a touchdown or two how many rushing yards he had that table salt so one interception he had a little he had table salt at thanksgiving maybe yeah exactly thanksgiving like got him um and rushing yards oh you know that that's where he's going to thrive more he's going to have a pretty solid Russian game I'm going to give him 55 rushing yards 55 you're right that's a lot of yards for oh fine 42 42 you're right the table salt's going to hold them down as well so 42 rushing yards all right what kind of dude is Caleb Williams is he a stud is he a freak is he a dog whiz or he's a dude's a dude oh he's pretty wizzy yeah he's whizzy you know
Starting point is 00:43:54 I bet you he's probably a cool ass dude in the locker room yeah I bet so like young cool confidence like Gen Z swag yeah he probably has all the Gen Z fans, for sure. But I'm saying, like, in the locker room, you know, the young dudes probably love them. Yeah, definitely. Teammates love them. Teammates love them.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Yeah, they do. They do. And I wouldn't say dog. I mean, he's not dog like that. You know what? He's not running people over. That's like Baker Mayfield's a dog. He means Heisman trophy winner.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Yes. Was a unanimous All-American. He was the number one pick of all time. I don't think dogs paint their finger. no they don't but for sure he is on three one two three stud he's a stud for sure man no doubt all the hype his whole life he's been the guy his whole life and he's proved everyone right and as a stud i saw him i don't know if it was an ai clip see i got to always check or say that first because i don't know if i get tricked by instagram and ai anymore but like this guy walked off like a limo
Starting point is 00:45:01 bus in like florida or something with like five models i was like that's studly right there he's that reminds that reminds us of us being cool back in the day and and boy is he cool now yeah cooler than the other side of the pillow all right before we hit the chillest dude we need the final gronk stradamus prediction come on come on What's the prediction? What's the question so I can give the prediction? Give us your Bears versus Eagles Black Friday score prediction.
Starting point is 00:45:42 Oh, like I said, the Eagles are winning this game. I'm going to say, Eagles, 27, Bears, 18. 18. Yeah, 27, 18. And maybe a missed P.A.T? Four field goals and a missed P.A.T. Maybe a safety.
Starting point is 00:46:02 I don't know. Maybe two touchdowns for the bears, both two-point conversions and then a safety. I mean, that would be sick. Ben Johnson would go for some two-point conversions. Exactly. We're talking Gronkstra-dominus here. I got to go out of the box.
Starting point is 00:46:18 This is genius type shit I got to come up with. If you get the score on me, what is it score on me? Scorogami on that? No. There's never been a 27 to 18 game. 27 and 18 are kind of scores that you see plenty of times in the NFL. Not together.
Starting point is 00:46:38 We'll be right back after this quick break. I'm Kristen Davis, host of the podcast, Are You a Charlotte? The most anticipated guest from season three is here. The Trey to My Charlotte. Kyle McLaughlin joins me to relive all of the magical Trey and Charlotte moments. He reveals what he thinks of Trey giving Charlotte a car. board baby. Why would I bring her a cardboard baby?
Starting point is 00:47:03 I was literally, I was like, this doesn't track for me at all. When he found out Trey's shortcomings. I'm kind of excited at talking about, you know, I think he's a guy spends time in Central Park, you know, he's probably, you know, he'll be some surgery stuff, you know, and I was like, all this kind of stuff going on and they were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, fine. And they said, but he's impotent. And I was like, he's impotent. And why he chose not to return to it just like that.
Starting point is 00:47:26 They came and presented an idea and I was like, I get, I see it. It's a kind of a one joke idea. You don't want to miss this. Listen to Are You a Charlotte on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A decade ago, I was on the trail of one of the country's most elusive serial killers. Starting point is 00:51:46 I'm going to be dipping. And I'm going to be tipsy. Tipping. Oh, tipping. Yeah. Sipping. Dipping. Dipping.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Dipping. And tipping. And tipping. And tipping. All right. And Scottie Pippin. And Scotty Pimping. Pimping.
Starting point is 00:52:04 On this week's edition of the chillest due to the week presented by Coors Lights, we are going to be pulling back the curtain on the life in the NFL. We got some questions the other day that had us thinking. Had me thinking. So since it's Thanksgiving and football guys and girls love to hang out on Thanksgiving, we'll be answering some questions. Where are the questions coming from? From me and Jack.
Starting point is 00:52:30 From the peanut gallery. The question is. The peanut gallery. All right. The peanut gallery. Come on. Shoot some questions at us. Come on.
Starting point is 00:52:38 Pugh-pum us. On some planners type shit over here, the peanut gallery. The question is that we'd settled on. We got a bunch here. How much do teammates in the NFL actually hang out? That was a great point. That was one that we kept getting.
Starting point is 00:52:50 That is a question that so many fans want to know as well. And they're so intrigued by it. Like, fans really want to do. know this this answer but I would say teammates hang out all the time but it's kind of like what you're within your own posse yeah you know it's not like the whole offense is hanging out or the whole defense is hanging out or you know it's kind of more of like the position groups are hanging out and then also like two guys in the position group and then one one guy from another position group get along you know it's kind of like that always hanging out all players always see each other
Starting point is 00:53:20 off the field you know and outside of the locker room but it's not like it's a team thing it's more of like an individual hangouts with the guys. There's different groups. D.Bs are always hanging out with D.Bs. That could be, that could be said. D. Lyman, offensive alignment, pretty much always hang out with the offensive lineman. Then like the skill group guys of the offense and special teams guys. And, you know, there's always a smorgasborg.
Starting point is 00:53:47 And we used to have a group called the Fook that we used to hang out, which was like an old special teamer, Niko Kutaviti. you know a couple practice squad guys there was rob there was you know then there was a couple defensive guys there's a couple offensive guys and we all lived next to each other so i think that's why and the criteria to be in the fuk was just being a savage so like you know so now if you heard now every listen out there that was our teammate you know you weren't in the fuk it's because you weren't a savage or could have been the pre the pre the pre rec could have been to fuck with my house because the fuk was always fucking with my house yes yeah but you were a part
Starting point is 00:54:25 of the foot because you were always there and hanging out and we were fucking with you. So that was part of the fluke. I left my goddamn golf clubs out, like outside once. This is all Nico Cudavides. And I come out the next morning because I leave them on my porch. Come out the next morning, every golf
Starting point is 00:54:41 club is in the tree. Throne in the tree. And this is in the spring when there's like frost and like it's fucking cold still. So like all my grips ruined. My whole bag is scattered throughout my whole fucking front yard. and then another time I'm sitting there
Starting point is 00:54:57 and it's like 530 it's like 4.30 but it's late so like it's still it's dark I get a knock on my door and it takes me a little while I'm playing FIFA I think slates upstairs and I go to the door
Starting point is 00:55:15 and I kid you not I cracked the door open I cracked the door open like four inches four inches and I go to put my head out because I didn't see anyone from the windows and all of a sudden I get smashed right in the head with a water balloon.
Starting point is 00:55:30 True, no, snowball. Snowball. True story. I close the door, turn off all the lights, tell Slate we're being attacked, go get a freaking airsoft gun, go to the backyard,
Starting point is 00:55:41 they start hitting me from the other side. It was bad. Who was it out there throwing them? Dude, it was the poet. It was the freaking Rusty Benson. Rusty Benson hit you with that snowball. When you, literally,
Starting point is 00:55:52 I'm telling you, this is a true story. Jules literally, like, you know, like in a movie where they cracked the door open barely and, like, poked their, like, eye out only. Like, it was four inches. Somehow, he threw it 30 yards away and put it directly in those four inches, right in the face. Right off Jules' face. Got cut.
Starting point is 00:56:08 It was like a hard snowball. I mean, I'm taking cover. I turn off all the lights, think we're getting fucking attacked. Yoano was great about it. We felt like a kid again. You know, when you do that as a kid, you throw snowballs in the house. So we do hang out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:21 So we do. To get back to your question. Yeah, you hang out, but as a group. But we also, in the small town teams, I bet, like, like the Packers, you know, like, we, we were all in Foxborough, which was like a small town. And we all lived, like, right next to each other in these, like, homes, like these everywhere. Like, there was a block and it would be like all patriots. And so, like, it was like a big ass dorm. So, like, but we all had houses.
Starting point is 00:56:50 You like riding bikes and skateboarding to each other's houses? Bikes, skateboards. sometimes motor cycles like the little ones like we had so like we every off season we'd buy a stupid toy of some sort like remote control cars or you know because like the off season it's pretty much you go work out and then we would all work out at the facility at that time of our careers dolla provided the volcano like he had a volcano set up upstairs in his room and it kind of acted like a volcano and it would blow up like a little bit the volcano you don't remember the volcano no oh the volcanoes yeah like the drawing was the setup was unbelievable the volcano the guy loves
Starting point is 00:57:30 geography and volcanoes and it just topography like it was a simulation it was wild yeah that was cool and that pink pong tables i had a ping pong table you had a ping pong table you had a ping pong was everything that kept your hand eye coordination felt better on on a game as well cornhole yeah cornhole a lot of cornhole yeah all right next question we hang out is ping pong ever never the facility? No. Did you hear that with like teams? Remember we have it in the dryer room?
Starting point is 00:58:00 It was way back in the dryer room. So you had to go through the equipment room to the where they used to dry the towels. We'd go in and get like a quick game, but it couldn't be seen. So it's an unsanctioned ping pong table. Unsanction. Yes. Did it ever like the powers that be ever find out about it? Yeah, they knew.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Yeah, they knew. But it never, no one ever used it like that. It was every once in a while. So it was never a big deal. And only certain guys used it. And only certain guys, like, you had to be, like, you had to be, like, in the club. Trash football was a big. Yeah, that was in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:58:30 What's trash football? Trash football is where guys would, we'd have the floating trashes, you know, that are on the wheels. And you'd put them, like, 30 yards away. And it'd just be like, who could shoot in the trash? What was it? It was, like, a soccer ball that you would shoot. It was like a soccer ball or something. And they'd, you know, you'd have two guys on that side, two guys on this side.
Starting point is 00:58:48 And it'd be just shots. Oh, heck yeah. I don't even know how it went, but that, that's what it was. And how many times during the week are you guys hanging out not in the facility? And like, are you at this or like someone's house that everyone's going to? Or is it just kind of like? Yeah, certain guys had certain whoever was on the same schedules. Yeah, it was every young bucks.
Starting point is 00:59:07 I mean, if someone was married, I mean, you got to go home to your kids and stuff. So like you're hanging out with your family after. Yeah. But like when we were young, like 20s, no one had a girlfriend, no families. It was basically every night. It was every other night. Because we all lived together or so, you know what I mean? And everyone was with him.
Starting point is 00:59:24 a mile away. So, yeah, there's a lot of factors that play into it. But when you're young in the NFL, you're hanging out with your teammates a lot, lot more. But there's also, you know, you have your married men. So like Rob said, you have family men that they would just stay at the facility as long as they could because they couldn't do anything at the house. 100%. Avoid it. Or the married men on our team would sneak out at night and try to come to our house. Yes. Yeah. And they would be like, you know, I'm walking my dog right now. And they They would dock on her door and they'd be like, yo, what are you guys doing? And we'll be like, whoa, whoa, Nenko, good to see you.
Starting point is 00:59:57 That's just one name. That's just one name we'll use. Oh, my God. Oh, I'm walking my dog right now. What's going on in here? Can I join? Yeah. This dude would slam two shots and then go back home back to his wife.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Look, and Slappy. Paige will never listen to this, so we're good. Yeah. If she did, then, who cares? Let's get Nanko in trouble. Nico, you can't walk your dog seven times tonight. How many group chats? It was like official team group chaps.
Starting point is 01:00:21 like positional group chats like the front like there's a lot of group chats there's like you have your boys group chat you have positional group chat you have group chat with coach and position there's like a lot of group chats geez yeah group chats i bet you now too now it's probably like shares on instagram tic talk shares we we were a little early for that i can see that but we were we were sending memes and stuff i guess group chats got to be huge in the NFL now yeah it's got to be it's a it's way easier to communicate you know to the position the coach probably just has a group chat of all the players and boom just to feed them the information text is that how you guys would get information like if practice time change or like
Starting point is 01:01:04 something the next day or did you get an email or how'd that go it was it was a text but group chats weren't a thing when we were playing not as big no not as big so you would just you just communicate with each other individually if something changed the time changed uh someone would call yeah I'll get a phone call. Yeah, it wasn't more of like a, it wasn't more of a group. It was just individual communication, then. So back to like team outside of facility dynamics, right? You got like, when you start the league, you're like rookies and young, like, is there
Starting point is 01:01:33 a moment when like, like, let's say you're a rookie or young team group, like someone like Randy Moss would like take like, oh, invite Rob to do something. Yeah, West tried to do that all the time. And Welker would always like, there was a cool group of guys. The older guys? Yeah. And we were like the slapies. and like Wes would invite
Starting point is 01:01:50 like Rob to do something and not like any of the other guys so Rob used to get poached all the time but kind of like when you're a rookie you're only hanging out with rookies at that time like you got to gain the respect of your teammates and order to get invited to like the veteran stuff or the older guy stuff you had to do some shit
Starting point is 01:02:09 to be invited to like a veteran thing yeah you got to stand out somehow some way is that mostly on the field or is it like both everything both yeah you got to be good on the field go down the field or like at least showing like that you're going to make like you're going to impact the team and also or maybe just like you're outrageous in the locker room like you're making everyone laugh or something like you're fun you're fun like you're just you're different you know and when you get older you understand because when you're there for a long time you don't even know how like we were part of i was part of a we were part of a group that like half the time some guys weren't active you know when you're a young group and you're with the rookies some of your guys get cut you know what i mean like So there's, like, a lot of turnover. So when you're older, a lot of those guys wouldn't invest time in everyone because they know they're not going to be around.
Starting point is 01:02:57 That makes sense. Was there another time either of you specifically remember, like the first time you got like a tap on the shoulder for like the veteran group? Yeah, remember when we went on the, we actually both got the tap with Wes when we got to go on the boat. Yeah, yeah, we got to go on the Hooters boat. We went on the Hooters yacht. Yeah, the Hooters yacht. It was, West was friends with the Hooters owner or owner or someone big on.
Starting point is 01:03:18 up in the Hooters world. And the Hooters yacht was in Boston. Yeah, and we had dinner on it. We had dinner and Matt Light was there. And that was when I got tapped into kind of, you know, the next level of all right. I think I got to make him feel comfortable. Oh, that rocks.
Starting point is 01:03:35 So we went and then Matt Light obviously screwed with me. He took my shoes when he left, he left a little bit before me and took my shoes and hit on like another dock when like like freaking 50 feet away. And he sat. there the whole time until I left and he watched me look for my shoes for like 15 minutes and then he felt bad and then he came walking over like Rob your shoes are over here man I was freaking light that's how much he loved me that he that was the first time he felt bad instead of sitting there for three hours having me look for my shoes he actually came back
Starting point is 01:04:07 Rob would have sat for three hours to find those shoes too bro freaking light yeah light man just cruise around Boston Harbor on the hooters yacht that's rocks it was no shortage of We had dinner on it. I thought we cruised. Did we? Oh, actually we went and saw the fort. Yeah, we did. Yeah, we did cruise.
Starting point is 01:04:25 We cruised it. It was kind of sick. That sounds so boring. It was sick. And I was like the first shot I've ever been on my case is like NFL life. Like you can, you know, you can be on yachts. Like this is crazy. But to your point, I know you guys are thinking.
Starting point is 01:04:37 Was there a hundred hooter girls? No. There was no other, there was no other girls. It was just me, Rob. Yes. Wes, his girl and Matt Light and his wife. Yes. So it wasn't like...
Starting point is 01:04:47 Wives or girls. We were like the plus together. Julian and I were looking at each other as Hooters. Put it that way. Yeah, we were like, man, this could be so much more fun. Jules, why do we come? We thought there was going to be like 50 Hooter Girls on here. And they were going to serve us.
Starting point is 01:05:05 Chicken wings and partners. That's a real reason everybody goes to Hooters and the Wings, man. Yeah, the wings. It's a family. Is Hooters even around anymore? I thought it went back from. They're making a revamp, though. Yeah, I think they're around.
Starting point is 01:05:15 They're around? I think so. one we used to drive by, the, where's the one that we used to go by every, Providence? Providence, yeah. T.F. And that one shut down now. I've never been to it, though. We never went to it, but our bus went by it to the airport every time. And every guy would just be at the locker room like, man, or at the bus window? Like, what's Hooters? Should we stop or should we go and we come back? It was the worst hooters of all time, too. It was, it looked like a dump, but would we do. Yeah. Whippie do. there's hooters RIP RIP
Starting point is 01:05:50 Yeah I don't think Hooters goes anymore There's this new one And my mom got me So it's in It's in Florida And it's Twin Peaks And my mom
Starting point is 01:05:59 We were sitting at dinner She had a friend over And she's like She's like She somehow brought up Twin Peaks Twin Peaks was brought up And they were cracking jokes about it
Starting point is 01:06:06 And I'm like What's so funny Like Twin Peaks Like I don't know Mountains like I don't know And then they're like You don't get it And I was like
Starting point is 01:06:14 No And they're like Twin Peaks And then my mom was like like that like what are tautas or just show and I was like oh I get it two mountains yeah yeah two mountains that are twinning oh my god on a chest it's kind of like it's kind of like the new upper hooters I would say it's like an upper echelon hooders yeah so now I make jokes all the time mom let's go to Twin Peaks she's like we're not going there
