between the Titans and Patriots. Some would say this is the, this is when the ship hit the iceberg. The ship hit the iceberg. Iceberg straight ahead with the one and only guy who sent it home. Logan, Ryan, welcome to the nut house. In one sentence, why did you pick this off?

fucking game. Luke Skywalker had to come back and blow up the Death Star, buddy. Luke Skywalker. So who's Luke in this thing? That would be me, man. I had to, sometimes you got to break things down for them to be rebuilt. And it was time. The Patriots would be rebuilt, you know what I'm saying?

Is this the greatest game of all time? Depends who's asking that question. I mean, for the Patriots fans, I don't think so. but it was a memorable one. I will say that as one. It was, it was a eerie night. You remember the field?

It was like foggy. It was an eerie night. It was like a battle. It was a battle. And obviously a lot of Patriots former. And, you know, now Mike Vrable was on the sidelines. And Kevin Byrd was in that game.

New Patriot safety. So there's a lot of faces, I think, in the Patriots lore that had a role that night. It's going to be fun to dive into it. But first, let's get into what you're doing these days. What's going on? on these days. I see you're an analyst on CBS. You're killing in the TV game. I hear your content on Instagram all the time. What's going on? Yeah, man, I'm a full-time parent. I'll tell you that.

I'm driving my kids around spending some time out here in L.A. Uber and my son to soccer practice. Uber and my daughter is singing lessons. So that's first and foremost. You know me. I'm a family guy. After that, when it's time when football kicks off, I'm a CBS analyst, broadcasting games. I'll be Kong games, NFL games in the booth this year. I'm excited about that. Tom McCarthy. Good. It's going to be really good. Yeah, man. I've been working the last two years, doing some college, doing a few NFL games last year. I called Miles Garrett's last sack or historic sack record performance. And I'll be teamed up with Tom McCarthy, which just, I don't know if we announced that yet, but I'm announcing it now. So I'm super pumped. Tom McCarthy is like a Hall of Fame broadcast. He's the voice of the Philadelphia Phillies. You know I'm a South Jersey guy. So I grew up listening to him. So it's kind of crazy that I get to work with this guy. So young in my career, I'm going to be learn a lot from them. It's incredible. And I think you're going to kill it because you're such a student of the game. Yeah. And when I was playing with you, I remember when you first came in as a young puppy, you were just like a, you were like a fly on the wall that just observed everything. And then

all of a sudden, you'd see that little fly doing things that guys were doing that were around for a while. And then you see the fly doing some jump ropes. And then you see that fly doing some fucking getting some interceptions in practice and you just were always learning and it's going to be very fun for the viewer to get to hear your insight coming from a DB that picked off a lot of great quarterbacks. Now, since you joined the media, what's something that you've learned that you, because we can't talk like we're in the locker room. What's something you've learned when you join this whole media thing? Man, it's be, you know, I think they tell you when you join as a former player, it's always hard to be critical of your peers, right? I know you know that. It's hard to,

especially guys that are more accomplished to me to say, oh, he's not good. But I try to keep it about ball, but I feel like there are too many people that are overly critical of the players as well now for for likes, for clicks, for attention, hot baity. And that's why calling the games my favorite, favorite former media, because I get to talk ball. Yeah. And I get to shine light. And I was a DB, but I studied receivers. I studied you my whole career. I studied Tom. So I know what the quarterback's doing somewhat. I know what the receivers are trying to do. And I'm able to kind of maybe have a bad play,

be able to teach on that bad play, as opposed to saying, is Julian Edelman a Hall of Fame or not? Let's debate that. You know, I think I get to talk more about the art and the craft of football. I don't have to debate as much. I think it's my favorite form of media's calling the game. I mean, that's first, it's the hardest thing

is when you have to go and you have to be critical on why a play was bad and you got to call it out. Yeah. But you can also, There's also different perspectives on ways to do it because we all, you know, Logan's been in every position on the team, a guy trying to make a spot, a guy that has a role, a guy that comes, becomes a premier player that's making big plays for the team. You know, I've been in that same thing.

Same as you, yeah. You come from the bottom and you understand how hard it is for every single guy in that locker room and how they all deal with a different type of pressure. Regardless, if you're Tom Brady or you're the number 53. everyone's got a pressure of some sort or something going in their mind that they're trying to live up to. And sometimes that's how I try to analyze.

I'll try to bring out like, all right, yeah, this guy had a drop. Why did he have the drop? Maybe it was because, you know, on the pre-snap panel or the pre-snap, he didn't know the ball was coming to him. He didn't pick this up. I'm sure they'll probably talk about that

and they'll go forward and use this as learning experience. And, you know, good players can't make the same mistake. twice. That's, you know, it's, it's, it's an art kind of. A thousand percent. And look, I try to bring a lot of my experience. I retired two years ago. I'm relatively fresh off the field. Fresh. Right? So the game has changed recently. You know that. The quarterback position has changed. The RPOs have changed. What offenses are trying to do the defense and defenses have trained much more zone coverage, much more quarters defense, which I would explain more, you know, when we have time. But I talk about if a guy drops a ball, it's different to catch a ball in New Orleans

dome as opposed to catching outside. It's different when you're trying to catch the ball on Sunday night football, Monday night football at 8 p.m. tracking it in the pitch black as opposed to catching the daytime. Like there's times I misjudge interceptions because I don't get to track it as long as you do. I have to cover you. Then when you look up, I look up. Now I have to pick a ball, a brown ball off of the black ceiling in New Orleans. And I'm just mistimed the ball because the tracking is hard to do. And I don't hear a lot of analysts. talk about that at times. And those are things. I'm like, hey, I don't think people realize how hard it is sometimes to track the ball based on the different stadiums we play in.

1,000 percent. The insights, that'll be exciting on CBS right there. Look at that insight from Logan Ryan coming at you. Calling games. It'll be so fun. Or even when you're just running like, it's different catching a ball when you're going full speed at a quarterback compared to when you're going away from the quarterback with traffic without traffic. is the receiver looking at the rat? You know, there's a lot of different things. I got to write that down. Hold on. Let me take that.

I got to put that in my, put that in one time. Now, this season and this league, World Cup fever's over. Yeah. I had so much fun being a parent of a soccer player. I'm sure you had so much fun. But the NFL's king when it comes to storylines and just to talk about for everything. What are some of the hot takes, the storylines that you're excited about going into 2026 this year? Well, I think one, let's start with the Patriots.

I don't understand. I've never heard more schedule talk last year about a soft schedule. I'm sure you've talked about that. But the Patriots added AJ Brown. The Patriot added Kevin Byard. You can feel what you want about AJ Brown. But how is he not going to help this team tremendously? They added Romeo Dobbs.

So look at the receiving course better. they have the over under like nine and a half, 10 wins. I'm like, I don't see how this team is not the same or not improved from last year. Because I played under Mike Vrable. I know his system. I know how the consistency. And he beats the teams you're supposed to beat. And then he's also competitive with the top teams in the league.

And I think they're going to be much better and the Seahawks. And I think than what both people thought, the two teams in the Super Bowl, I felt like are getting slept on. And that doesn't happen, you know, too often. So I think that's a storyline where I'm starting like, wait, why are the Seahawks and Patriots not going to be good again? Yeah. And I think we're getting tired of winning. Like, oh, Sam Darnold, yeah, he won it, but he's not still not a good quarterback. It's like Sam Darnold has been a pretty damn good quarterback.

And they've got a pretty good team. Yeah, and they got a pretty good team. They got, I mean, just team in general, both of those. And then also with the Patriots, for me, you know, Braves has always been a great coach. But when you get paired up with like Josh McDaniels and Braves can talk about, as a team how we have to win defensively and Braves knows offense. But when you have an asset like Josh McDaniels that you could just say, hey, you take care of the fucking offense,

you mold our little quarterback, you get the offense aligned fucking going right. That's a huge asset to have. And they're going to have continuity going into a second year of the offensive coordinator with a young quarterback who was just so happened to be a fucking number two on the MVP race. Like there's a lot of great things happening. I understand, granted, you know, Campbell had a rough end of the season coming off an injury,

having to play against historic defensive lines. They go out and get low move for a fucking swing guy that could potentially add depth. I think they're going to get better. And they always talk about offensive line coaches and how that's a pivotal thing to have. The position. It's a key position. Well, one of the greatest offensive line coach is Skarnikio, right? Scarnetia, coach Scar, you know, who was around him for 20 years?

Josh McDaniels and Josh is a great coach. So I think that's a huge storyline. That's a fun storyline to go down. I'm also super interested in the NFC North. Like pound for pound, is it the toughest division in the league right now? If you think about it, pound for pound. That fourth team, all four teams are great. I mean, that NFC West is loaded.

San Fran and L.A. But you look at it. look at the weeks, right? You look at Minnesota versus Arizona. Minnesota's getting Kyler Murray, who started 7, 8, 0, 3, 4 years ago with Cliff Kingsbury. He's going to step in with Kevin O'Connell with Addison, Jefferson, Hawkinson, that he's never had a skill group like that. And you know B-Flow, regardless of the talent level on the other side, he's going to level it out and have some fucking blitzes and he's going to make it interesting. The defense is going to be cooking for sure. And I played against Kyler Murray, competed against him in Arizona.

I don't care what you think about him. That guy is hard to get down on the field. Like he is really small, but he is a scatterbug. Like he can move, he can go. Playing against him, defending him, like he gave our defense-aligned problems with contain. And anytime a quarterback can break contain, essentially breaks a defense. How is he his thrower then? He can throw.

He can throw. He's an anticipatory thrower. So he's throwing the spots. He has to know his system well. How is he going to throw in that system? because he is short. So I don't know how he throws over the middle, you know, with some of those dig routes that, you know, Matt Stafford throws so well and Darnold throws so well

and Drake May and these guys. He didn't run a lot of that in Arizona. So how is he going to fit with O'Connell's system? But I'm telling you, you talk about skill set. There's a reason why this guy was the number one overall pick and there's a reason why this guy was drafted in baseball. I mean, he's as skilled as they come at the quarterback position for sure. Now, you also have Detroit, Chicago,

and freaking Green Bay there. And I think that's going to be a three team. I think my question with the, I agree, like that division is. Pound for pound is probably the toughest. But are these the best versions of each team? Right. Because Detroit, in my opinion,

are they losing something every single year? Are they losing pieces? Braingering? Yeah, I mean, it's hard. You know how hard. I mean, we did something special to stay competitive for so long. But it's hard for Detroit

to play at that top level when they keep losing some of their roster, their pieces, they lost Montgomery. right and obviously Jamir Gibbs is a top back in the league so he has more of the load which is going to be great Chicago you got to think they're improving for sure 100% Green Bay what are they Michael Parsons injured again right now in camp you know what I want so what is Green Bay they lost Jeff Halfley as well who was a huge part one of one of of most instrumental coaches he coached me at Rutgers in my career taught me how to watch film by the way

probably which I'll be helped me get the CBS job my film study has been a good habit he taught me how to watch film at Rutgers, he's obviously the coach now of the Miami Dolphins. You know what? I watched that Green Bay Chicago game last night, the wild card, just to kind of see it. And, you know, I went in to the game. I'm like, you know, Jordan Love really hadn't stepped it up, you know. I feel like we've been saying, I've been in TV for five years now. We say this team's young every fucking year.

How many times can they be young? You know, but then I watched that game. The end of the game, Jordan Love, he got him in position. He made the throws. They just ran out of guys and they had stupid pre-snap penalties and they had a couple things that didn't go their way. But they were beating the shit out of the bears for the whole first three quarters of the game.

They just couldn't finish it. So I think, you know, having Micah Parsons, if you fast forward, even if he starts on PUP, he's the kind of closer that you need to finish those types of games. And I think they're going to be huge this year. I don't know. I'm super excited about that NFC North. Now that I'm on Fox, we talk a lot of these NFC games.

I see what you're doing. Yeah, I see what this is. Just practicing some talking points. Look, I love what you said about closers, though, because another thing I don't think the fan understands, we focus so much on starters. But who are the closers? And closers can be your starters,

but who are the guys that are going to go get me the sack to end the game? Who are the guys going to go get the ball to end the game? Who's the guy, as you did so many times, is going to go make the catch on third down to keep us in the game. And sometimes that's Danny Amandola. Sometimes that's you. The New England receiver core

was a bunch of closers, guys that could make the play gronk when we needed it, James White, when we needed it. And we focused so much. Who's my starter? Who's the start? Who's going to start the game?

Man, who's going to finish the game? I know you finish the game and nickel or dime personnel every time. Every time. So I know your third corner might not be that important, but he's important when the game's on the line

when they're throwing at them, right? So the closers, and that's why they are, acquired a Michael Parsons because he's a closer. And that's what these teams need to have. Who's the guy's going to go make us a play? And that's something that I think is the biggest thing that's not talked about because most games in the NFL are one-score games.

And it comes down the final four minutes of the game. And the saying in New England is that good teams find a way to win them and bad teams find a way to what? Lose them. Yeah. Find a way to lose them. Now, what's a defense right now that we all got to look out for? I mean, other than the Super Bowl winning,

Los Angeles Rams that have won the Super Bowl for the season. Other than that defense, what's another good defense? I mean, you have to talk about the Rams. I mean, Jesus. I have to talk about the Rams. Like, Miles Garrett is the best defensive player in football by a large margin. And there hasn't been a player that much better than the rest of the league since Aaron Donald retired.

And there's a lot of inclination that Aaron Donald may consider coming out of retirement. And you being a retired player, me being retired player, I was a player that left retirement to join a team. I think if you could still go, if you're still in shape, these are the situations where you consider coming back out of retirement. This is a different guy, though. This is a generational player. So it's completely different when I think on my cab,

if I've been out for two years, than Aaron Donald being out for two years and how he finished. So it's going to be insane. And I think he's going to come back. But you also got to look at their secondary. They go out and get Duffy. Well, is their issues. You know, they couldn't close games on defense.

They went and got the Chiefs corners. Who's played in more tighter games than the Chief's corners the last few years with McDuffie and Watson? That's all they do with the Chiefs. Press man to man, every play. It's going to be a one-score game. Patrick Mahomes is going to figure it out. But you need to have a defensive stop in order for Patrick Mahomes to figure it out. Those guys that play in the most biggest games, closest games, their whole career.

And they, you know, they had Chris Jones, who was an unbelievable defensive lineman. They never had Miles Garrett and Donald, which. That means you've got only holding down for a half second less because they're getting close to the quarterback. When you get that pressure on the quarterback, you get more interceptions for the DBEs. Yeah, and Carnel Lakes, a Swiss Army knife. Similar kind of position I pretty.

Frisk, too. Yeah, so obviously he's got to start with the L.A. Rams. You can't disrespect what Denver's been doing, Seattle's been doing. I'm high on New England's defense. I love the Kevin Byard edition. I played with him. They have a great cornerback tandem.

I would put them up there top in the league. Davis and Donzo. Yeah, and I played with Carlton Davis as well in Tampa. They're press man guys. Kristen Gonzalez is going to be a highest paid corner soon. But you have a guy, a ball hawk in the back that can, with all that press man you're playing, you know it's going to come down and throwing the ball at the end of games. And this guy can really be a closer.

So I think, I obviously think that New England's going to be good too. Man, what do you think about your former team giants? You know what? The problem with the Giants always is just the expectations always come so quickly before the performance. But it's a full rebuild. The guys I was there with, you know, Sequin and Daniel Jones,

Julian Love, Zaver McKinney, Dexter Lawrence, a lot of great players are no longer there. It's a completely new build under hardball. I know the fans are excited. Jackson Darts a lot to be excited about. If Malik neighbors is healthy, it's a different team than if he isn't.

And I love the OBJ effect. I think OBJ makes the roster. I really do. I think OBJ has some juice left in New York. I think he'll be great in a locker room. great to make some plays be a closer. But it's going to be a lot on Malik neighbors and Scataboo's health. Because if their best players

aren't healthy, you can't win, you know, you can't win in a league. You can't win. They're not good enough for those guys not to be healthy. And it's going to take a big, it's going to take a big leap for Jackson Dart this year. He has to grow up mentally. We can't be bash bro in it

in the sideline. He's playing like how you play quarterback. I didn't play quarterback in the league for a reason. You know what I mean? you can't go out there and get hurt because the team is relying on you. You know, we got to have that foolish pride. We got to swallow that. We got to learn, you know, everyone learns.

This game's undefeated. You know, if you don't learn, you're usually selling insurance. Yeah. We'll be right back after this quick break. You know what I mean? That's an interesting division. You know, because Philly, another offensive coordinator, you know, obviously moved on from A.J. Brown.

they have a great roster. They've always had Dallas, I think, will be improved. And then who's saying that Jane and Daniels can't play quarterback anymore? What about the commanders? So that's a division where who's taking what step and what team's going to win at division, always hard to win at division consecutively, like the Eagles have done. But that's one I think I got my eye on.

Yeah. All right. All right, let's jump into, let's go back into time. Anything else we got, Jackie? I think that was those were the big ones. I wanted to get some current NFL talk out there. We wanted to get some current. I'm trying to think any other big storylines, but I think we hit him.

I'm excited about Kevin Byard, man. Byron. Man, another ball hawk, man. Seven picks last year. He first got a league. His first year he had like 10, didn't he? Yeah, we go back to a game like 10 years ago. My first year with him, he had.

He led the league. He led to league. So he's led to league in interceptions twice. I don't know. He's got over 30-some career intercept. Look, you're not going to get guys nowadays, in my opinion, with the 60 interceptions when they retire. Like, you're not going to get.

get those crazy edry numbers anymore? I just think it's not the single high defense it used to be. It's hard in quarters with the zones. It's hard to get that many opportunities. I think quarterbacks maybe not, don't put it in as risk as much as they used to. They throw the ball more, but it's probably shorter passing than it used to be.

I don't know the numbers. But Kevin Byards, him and Harrison Smith had the most interception since they've been in league. Kevin Byers are going to retire with a Hall of Fame resume. And there's going to be some decisions to make because he played in, like kind of like Mike Evans, he played in a small market most of his career. But he went to Chicago, big market leads a league interceptions.

In year nine or 10, the same thing he did in year two. So he's made like three, four all pros. He's one of my best friends in the league, trained with them every day when I was in Tennessee, saw his ascendance, much like Derek Henry, come to like superstar status. And if he is anywhere at the level he's been, which he's very consistent as an eater, as a person, as a human being, yeah, he'll be up there leading a league in interception. He seems like a, he seems like a patriot kind of guy. I like that, man.

Just to see that leading league in 2017 and then leading it again in 2025. It's like eight years, but wild. Because Sissy needs to be studied. Jeez. Love it. All right. Let's go back into time when the game took place. This game took place January 4th, 2020.

and it was like a selfie mode the whole time. She's going around the crowd. Little girls who are going crazy. It was freaking, it was nuts. Super Bowl champions were the Kansas City Chiefs. LSU won the Natty. It was a Joe Burr. Jackson, MVP, and Joe Burrow

with the Heisman. Look at that. Now look at him. Division rivals now. Division rivals. Wow. What's up with Lamar? Is our guy Lamar gonna,

is he going to come through this year? Come through as in win the Super Bowl? I mean, win a playoff game. Look good in the playoffs. Not be on a milk card. You know, like we got to have the playoffs. Because we look at regular season, he's going to win the game 90% of the time.

Yeah. 90% of time he's going to win. I think they got to give the ball of Derek Henner in the playoffs more, you know? Honestly, there's no reason why not. Lamar is a transcendent player. Yeah. My first ever preseason game, my first ever pro game, we played the Eagles in preseason. Remember that?

Joint practice, you got shredded them. I mean, I think Brady had no drop passes with all rookie receivers. I don't know if you were hurt or what. I was out there. Aaron Dobson and all those guys. KT. Embryled Humphkin. Yeah, shout out.

A. A.D. Shredded them. But long story short, I was on the other side Trying to guard DeShon Jackson and Michael Vic Oh God And that was my first ever pro experience And Shady McCoy and whatnot

They had some boys Yeah, yeah And Lamar Jackson is Is like playing against Michael Vic Man, it's no joke Like he's got it I think he's like the best runner of the football He can you throw the football accurately

You blitz them, it's a problem So we know that I'm always a fan of him man I'm always a fan of him I don't see why not I think it is time they take that step. And, you know, we'll talk about that when it gets closer. But big fan of Lamar Jackson.

I mean, that's what it is now. And that's the standard that he's played himself into. Yeah, MVP's. You know, when you play that well, there's a standard you play yourself into. And the standard now is Super Bowl or bust because he's got everything else. He's got the MVP's. He's got the regular season accolades. I think we started this.

He started this Lamar Jackson talk because, After our game that we're going to talk about, we played MVP Lamar Jackson that next round. Right. And we beat him. And he won MVP. They had 14 pro bowlers on their team. They were 14 and 2. We were a little scrappy hyenas, the six seed.

Scrappy. And we knocked them off. And I think it started his, he can't get it done in the playoffs narrative. It did. But he faced a hot team that day. You guys were knocking out giants this year. You're knocking them out. You're a TV guy?

Or a movie guy? Yeah, yeah. Like, how did you escape when you were playing? Did you watch TV with the wife, play video games? Yeah, yeah. We would watch me and Nate Ebner would talk a lot of shows. Game of Thrones was popular. We were watching that every week.

And Westworld season one, phenomenal season two. And every on was awful. So we would watch. And this was big on, this was big on TGIT's, Thursday nights, scandal, how to get away with murder. A big watching show TV on Thursday night. And another big TV guy, you probably knows, Devin McCordy watches everything.

McCarty. He watches all garbage, all junk, all dating shows. Real housewives. That's all he does. He loves that. I don't know how you, anytime I went to his house, he wasn't watching film, he was watching TV. But he still was our unleading captain and fearful, fearless leader.

But yeah, big, big TV era back then. You know, it's, you got to be as an athlete. You got to find something. to recharge you. And this is like a healthy thing to recharge you, finding the video games, finding the content. Because there's a lot of distractions out there

that you could deal with as a young, rich person that has a lot of time on your, like free time on your hand. So it's always fun hearing guys and how they escaped when they were players because, you know, you always, it's, the track record is there's a lot of guys

that like TV and movies because it keeps them out of trouble. We had a big call duty group. We did. Call duty ghost. Remember that one was out? I remember Brandon Spikes handle was just Brandon Spikes. 55.

So like everyone's like, y' are we playing the Patriots? Like, I was like, why don't you have like a handle that people don't know who we are? Bro. He didn't. He didn't care. Those Call of Duty days. I forget about. Yeah.

I played Call of and I became the old guy. I became the old guy. He became unc before Unk was a thing, huh? No, well, I saw it. I saw it because I remember playing as a rookie with Randy. Yeah. And he'd come on and play a call of duty with us. And Randy, you look at his character in the map.

And he's like looking at the stars and shit. And I became that guy. Every pro athlete is on. Every pro athletes on the video games every night. You just got to figure out what their handles are. And we also, this is a throwback. Last one. We had a big clash of clans.

Clash of clan. You remember that? I do. And Gerad Mayo spent thousands of dollars. Thousands. Of real money to get. We had an elite clan that, uh, that would battle at night and we would go to war and had Slate dog was upon that thing. Yeah, yeah, like we spent real, real, real salary. I feel bad for the

kids we were playing against. We put some real money into that game. I'd be going up with Slate's room at night because we lived together at the time. I'm like, what are you doing? He's like, I got a harvest, bro. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not going to pay. I'm not going to pay to play. Geron Mayo started to pay to play stuff. You don't like that in video games, Geron, man. My son asked about that game and brought back flashbacks. I said, maybe I got to load up the old. I put a couple grand in that thing.

I got a load up the old base. God. Man, all right, let's jump into this game. Oh, man. Let's go back to 2019. Let's look at these Patriots.

12 and 4 started out hot. 8 and 0. That was when you remember the A, B experiment in there. We won't talk about that too much. We would have won a Super Bowl. That would have been, man. Yeah, to take pictures in the locker. We didn't have any targets.

You got started, you know? Yeah. I know. Wow. And that red area offense sputtered a little bit down the stretch. As we know. Ronk retired. I mean, really.

But we hitting in the red area. Got you, brother. I was never the red area guy. I don't know. Got to be. 17th year with 10 or more wins. Brady's last year doing a little foreshadowing, not to give it away. Down the stretch went four and four.

A little struggles there. We got to give a little shine to our defense here. Gilly won defensive MVP this year. Gilly Lock. I mean, this was a big year. For the TV. 20th year of the Belichick area at 12 and 4 overall. But yeah, as we talked about,

lost some of those red area threats. A little bit of a transition year there. Now, when you're coming in, you just signed with the Titans. You're getting ready to prepare for this game, which we played, I think, earlier that year, right? Or is it the next year? So I signed the Titans two years prior to this.

Yeah. So this is my third year in the Titans. And we've played you, my first year in 2017, we played you in New England. wild Carter division. You guys beat us. And then we kind of played you again. Rabel came in 18 and we played you at home.

And you beat us. And then beat you guys. And then we played again in 19. So we had confidence because we played you a bunch. And obviously, Rable knew the Patriots well. Dean Peas, our defensive coordinator. Obviously coached at the Patriots.

And then I obviously had a great understanding from playing you guys so much. It kind of felt like if we were going to take the next step, As an organization, we had to get through New England. It's like you had to go through the, that's the team at the top of the time. And obviously, Kansas City was where you two were battling every time for AFC supremacy. Us in Tennessee felt like we had to get through these teams in order to make these Super Bowls and start to be good. Yeah.

And when you look at this roster, I mean, you played with that pretty much a lot of them. Yeah. It was like, especially the defense, like when I was jogging on the field with Chung, and Gillian, Duran, and DMAQ and JMAC, you know, I went to college with half these guys. How come we have so many rucker guys on the team? Smart, reliable. You know what?

I was going to talk about this. I don't get, you know how the Eagles draft all Georgia guys? I can't tell you how much chemistry me, Duran, and Devin had. 1,000 percent. Because we played together. So I can give Duran a look, which means I'm going to go jump this route, cover me real quick. And I would tell Devin, hey, man,

they're by to throw a fade on me, lean this way and they would trust me or like, nah, don't trust me. There's so much instincts from playing with guys for a long time. And then obviously in the league, it's such turnover, turnover. So you might have a receiver like you and DA, you and Danny play together for quite some time. So you guys have such a good understanding. Hey, you run this route. No, actually let's switch it.

And we had so much of that coming out that if both guys are equal, kind of like what the Rams did when they got reverse and fisk, all it does is work out for them. Like, because they're so, we had such chemistry on and off the field and that it made in a great secondary. We might not be the best players pound for pound, but as a unit and communicating, why not draft some of these guys that play together in college that are good? Because, you know, you can't really beat us when we're communicating so well. How was Shiana with you guys? Hard, bro, tough. So you built you guys for this. Yeah, built us for it. I think that's what Bill understood that we went through a lot of hardship and we went through a lot of dealing with stuff.

We were coaching a real pro-style defense. So when I went to New England, it wasn't like, I wasn't blown away. Like, oh, my God, I'm not going to be able to make it here. I was like, I'm used to working hard. I got to figure out if I'm good enough. But the conditioning and the lifting didn't break me. I was kind of used to that. College is always a little harder.

Yeah. You know, they try to kill you in college as a. And I redshirted too like you. So I went through it. Yeah, I went through the red shirt lifts. Because they work the kids that don't play even harder. They try to make you quick. it. Oh, yeah. And they make you like a little fat. It's a little factory of making just stud

humans. Just make every skill player 195 pounds. Running. Squat in 450. Yes. Clean in 300. It's crazy. Yeah. I don't know why I needed to be that strong. But I went from 170, 172 maybe to 195 in a year. Yeah. And I didn't get any body fat. So I gained 20 pounds of muscle. I remember. I like, I couldn't dunk a basketball anymore. Like it took me, I played my entire NFL career at 195. So what I was at 19, I played until I was 33. So I had to figure out how to get my mobility with all the muscle that they added so quickly in college. 1,000%. Now, we had a lot, like, what are some of the fun memories?

I mean, we had a lot of epic battles in practice. There had to be some good stories. There's got to be something. With you, me and you? Yeah. We got something. Jules, you're like the best player to play with, the worst to play against. You're just the guy.

somewhat annoying, you know, you know how to push everyone's buttons. You're so self-motivated. You're going to trash talk. You're going to do whatever you got to do. That's your edge. That's your chip. The crazy yellow faded Kent State shirt every day. It's right up there.

It's right up there. Yeah, yeah. So that's what it is. But I think like you're kind of low of the motor that made the engine go. And I knew I knew with you that you weren't going to let me, you weren't going to take it easy on me ever. and I kind of grew up playing against you every single day and dealing with that. And if I knew if you caught a ball,

you wouldn't let me hear the end of it. So I had to kind of like step up to the bullying somewhat. Like, no, I can't let this guy get over me. I got to fight him. I got to show him my worth. And you would challenge guys that way where I had to bring my best. And I knew I was going to hear about it four years later in the game.

You couldn't cover me at all. Every Friday I used to kill you. And I'm like, all right, bro, I got to show this guy. So I, I preface it by saying, when I got to New England, you kind of spoke about how I had this great work ethic. And I remember my first conversation with Brady. He knew who I was,

where I was drafted. He introduces himself to me, right? And that's a great leader that Tom Brady was. And he's like, if you ever need anything, I'm here all day. I'm like,

well, what time do you get here? And he's just like early. And I was like, well, how early is early? And he's like, early. I'm like, okay. And I think we start our days at 7.30. So I came at 6.30 and you were there.

Brady was there. Bill was there. Then I came at six. Brady was there. You were there. Bill were there. Because in New England, we don't have assigned parking spots. It is first come, first service.

It's not a sign for head coach, a sign for quarterback MVP, Tom Brady, a sign for Julian. And it was like, free for all parking. So I started coming at 530, 545, 515, 5 a.m. I would come in. I was like, I can't do anything early in 5 a.m. That's just getting ridiculous. I'm not getting enough sleep.

So I came in at 5 a.m. every day for four years. And Brady was there, you were there, Bill was there, and I was the fourth car there for four straight years. When I went to Tennessee, I came in at 5 a.m. every day and it was the second card there, we're variable. And I go to my next team. So my 5 a.m. routine came from trying to beat you guys to work every day.

And I knew that you could talk how you talk and play how you played because you put the work in to earn that. And that's what I kind of took from you and from Tom. Everywhere I went, I was like the first car in the parking lot. and did I have to be? Not all the time, but I made it at my routine, made it normal, I would lift, and I got all that stuff because of how early you guys got there every day.

That's awesome. You know, but you saw that from Logan, and I would go hard on Logan because I knew Logan was working. I'd see him do his little fucking jumping rope. He loves the jump rope. He'd do the jumper rope every day to get his quickness. He was really meticulous with his routine every single day, whether it was fixing his ankles,

fixing his knees, doing his prehab. And that's why I challenged him because I was getting work out of him because he was hard to run routes on because he was such a smart player that it prepared me when I had to go against another guy because if you get open on Logue who knew the fucking play,

who knew the situation, who knew everything, who knew my routes, then I was going to have a way better shot of getting open against the guy that didn't play me. So as much as, I was busting your balls, I did that because it made, it inspired me. I had to put myself in a mindset. Yeah. You know what I mean? But I also always appreciated and I always saw that you were

working your ass off. And it got better the older I got. Yeah. It's like, it's like Kevin Garnett. He's like a smaller, whiteer Kevin Garnett on the field. Like he's just talking about, I think he's talking for himself. It was more, but he's talking like he's going to smell weakness. And, you know, I don't know if you know my like, I told this story a little bit on Instagram. so you guys can check it out. But essentially, when I came in, I wasn't playing right away. My first meeting with Josh McDaniels, he's like, we got all four corners coming back from last year.

We were in the AFC, whatever, last year. Like, we don't need you. Like, get ready to play special teams. Like, don't think you're just going to. I was like an All-American coming out of college, left as a junior, thinking, ah, I'm about to go. And this team needs says corner. Mel Kuyper says they need a corner.

So they're going to draft me, and I'm going to start. And we had to keep Talib. We had Alfonza Dinar, who was a great talent, gotten some trouble. We had Razai Dowling, who's a 33rd overall pick, pretty much a first round pick. We had Kyle Arrington.

So they're drafting me. And, you know, I'm kind of doing my process, doing things in background, getting picks in practice. And I end up, you know, having that pick six against the Jets in my first start.

Akeb gets hurt. They're like, hey, Bill's like you've been doing good things. We're giving an opportunity. And I'm playing special teams, core four, you know, never been on kick return of my life on the front line.

Blocking for you, punt return, and blocking for you. And I'm having a pick six. I end up starting the rest of the season. I had five picks, bro. I led to AFC as a rookie, picked off Payne Manning,

went on a little run there, right? Getting the ball a lot. So we lose a key in free agency. And I'm thinking I had five picks. I just led to, I probably should have made the Pro Bowl, right? I led the entire conference in eight starts. And we just lost our top corner of free agency.

I'm the guy. I'm the guy. And then Bill signs Dorel Revis and Brandon Browner. Yeah. And he tells me, hey, like, you got to go to the slot if you want to see the field. You got to go to the nickel if you want to play. And I'm like, bro, I just, I'm 22 years old.

I just led the NFL, the AFC and interceptions on the outside. Now I'm being turned to, told to learn a new position. So I go to my agent like, hey, do I ask for a trade? Do I like hold out? And he's like, nah, you got to go play. So I had to go compete with Kyle Arrington to get on the field, bro. And I've never played the nickel before in my life. So I had to learn a new position.

I had to cover you and Danny every day. And that was a way to get better quickly because I was getting cooked early. But I knew if I could cover you guys and I got in a game, oh, this is easy. I ended up, you know, playing and winning a job and whatnot. And my career went on. I was known as a really good nickel. But, I mean, that's a point in reality in life where you feel like you're on top of the world.

Like a good moment or a bad moment? whatever you want to go you know i just i i feel like obviously the 28 to 3 game you know we won that super bowl but i look back to our rookie year when we came back against denver down 24 at half at half Peyton manning cold freezing my wife said that someone's beer froze solid and negative temperature.

It got Demarius Thomas, RIP. They got Decker. They got this highest, what, best offense of all time. And I remember us coming back from that, you know, coming back from that game. And I remember at that moment, I was like, oh, we, there's no more ever expecting to lose a game or we can come back from anything. And then obviously that came to fruition four years later in the 20th to 3. But that's a game I don't think we talk about a lot. enough of you can come back 24 to Peyton Manning and that offense and what you guys did on

offense to turn it on when they had what they had on defense and they were hitting hard. They hit Geese, hit Lagart Hard and whatnot. So I think that's a game that that always sticks with me that like, hey, we can beat anybody anytime and no lead is safe since that game in 2013, which led to obviously our Super Bowl years later. And we're at a similar moment in the locker room. There wasn't any disbelief that was like, all right, man, we got to do this. Like we got to get played better.

like we're done throw it in let's put the backups in there was never that mentality no it's it's awesome that you said that because when people always asked me what were you thinking about at the 28 to three i've literally said that game yeah you know Denver we were down 24 granted it was regular season but we were down against fucking the saints with like 10 seconds to go we win there's so many these up like these games that we had to pull from that like I was like we were never out of it just like logg said we never thought we were out of it never felt like that bro and that's tom brady never felt let's have a tom i mean i don't compare i had to feel like if you played for the bulls and you had michael jordan we never there was times i tell my family where crack when we beat the jags like

55 nothing or something then beat the bears by like 40 and tom was like 32 for 32 they didn't ball didn't touch the ground. Practice was hardening the game that week. There was literally times where practice, when you say USC and Reggie Bush and then practice was harder than the games, truly our practices were harder than some of our games because of how dominant and how detailed everything had to be. We were going games and just destroy people

because of how our execution was. But it was how we prepared. Yeah. And because we made the environment harder, the coaches making the situations harder, the players, into practice. We used to fight because we wanted

to compete. We didn't want to be showed on the fucking low lights that we let our team down in front of everyone. So it was a battle. It was mini games every fucking day. And it made the game on Saturday or Sunday the easiest day of the week because all the hayes in the barn. We

did all the work. It's there. Good coach speak right there. The Hayes in the barn, baby. Hays in the bard. Like Logan said earlier, a lot of guys stepping up his closers, man. Got out of closers. Yeah. Which one coaching point you'll never forget from Bill? I remember Bill would,

I remember Bill would always be like, he wanted everything press man. We're like, bro, like, we play the most press man in the league. And he would stand up there and just throw your hand and just wash their shoulder. Like, bro, that's not going to work versus Julio. Like, yeah, these people are really moving at us.

You can't. And he'll, like, throw on tie law tape of him being the corner coach. Like anything he showed you, like, he would show like tie law doing that and stuff and he just was so like he's like a historian like you can't hate on it if it worked for like tie law and like he would show me and malcolm butler like look at reeves doing it look at this person doing it like there were so many great cornerbacks that play there and i feel like in new england i feel like bill hand picks his corners i'm not saying he picks every draft pick he probably did but his corners are special to him and if you always notice notice new

england like it's really special corners there you know even j c jackson had a run He was good. Stefan Gilmore had a run. Me and Malcolm played good ball there. Arrington came from nowhere. Arrington came from nowhere. Dorell, obviously, won a Super Bowl is one year there. Gilly.

And it goes before that. So there's such a lineage of that position. I think because Bill coach yourself specifically. So we'll go back in a locker room, roll our eyes complaining like, bro, Bill's trying to have me do this. But his long list of corners he developed, you kind of were in his program. So it was like,

it wasn't one thing in particular, but I think his lineage of great cornerback play, you had to listen when he was telling you what to do. Yeah. And that's how he would get you. That's how he would embarrass you. He would throw you through the knowledge of the game, the history of the game,

and he would go out and show you clips from what he's coached and how he wants it done. Yeah. And you got a fucking example for everything. Yeah, he's like, it's crazy. Jackie, let's get into the Titans. Let's get into these Tennessee Titans. No, that was good stuff, man.

nine and seven for the fourth straight year. We got to talk about some of these rookies, man. AJ Brown, Jeffrey Simmons. That day just got pain, huh? Three years, 106 million. Man, Arthur Smith OC this year. And then we mentioned earlier, Dean P's, D.C., another little Patriots familiarity in there. Back to the playoffs after missing the year before.

And finished this season on a nice seven to three run after Tanna Hill took over for Mariotta. Got hot. Really found their identity. Good balanced offense. And, of course, Derek Henry just pounding the ride. Geez. So what got the spark going? We started the season two and four.

And as you see, we have a talented roster. A lot of young talented roster. AJ Brown was a stud day one. Walked on the field. We also had Corey Davis. We also had John Nussmith. That's not mentioned here. We also had not only Derek.

We had Dionne Lewis. There's another back. Right? So we had a loaded roster with a good offensive line. a good run blocking offense line specifically. You talk about hitting on Jeffrey Simmons, right? And then our secondary outside Malcolm Butler. But we started off two and four.

They made a decision. I felt like they didn't know if they wanted to be a shotgun offense with Mariotta and Dion and Derek, or do they want to be an under center? And I think Brable just said, hey, we're going to Tanna Hill. We're going under center. We're going to run the ball and play action. We're going to make this ugly, beat up teams and lean on our defense. and we kind of made that decision

and that's what we kind of went. We snuck in the playoffs. We had to win the last week. We had to beat Houston who was kind of semi-resting their starters because they couldn't really move and we kind of got in. We thought we were going to play Kansas City.

You guys lost, I believe. We lost to flow. We lost a flow. Yeah, you guys lost. Miami, remember? Right. So. It was one of those where you're not going to play this game

halfway through the second quarter. Edelman! Wheels! Wheels. Yeah. So I felt like it was, we were scratching and clawing to get in that thing. And you guys were kind of fading, fading back at the wrong time. We were banged up.

Yeah. But this was a tough team. Like, you take this roster with some of these names. It's tough, hard-nosed football now. No, when you look at it, I mean, you guys came in, you were fearless. A lot of teams lost in this specific ground before the game even started when you go up into Foxboro. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

You know, and they had a different vibe. Like, like Loggs was saying, that day it was like kind of foggy. Yeah, it was eerie. It was eerie. I think the fan base was pretty upset with you guys or something. They were because it was like this silence. You know, sometimes in New England, if you're not playing well right away, if you lose a game, the fans are almost mad at you.

Well, we were all, and there was a little bit of a pouting and a sniveling that we were even playing because we lost in Miami the week before. Always lose in Miami, though. Always lose it. That's always happens. But at Jolet was weird, man. That's just like, I felt weird that last week. Well, do you know about the video?

You guys remember the video? No. So Brady's team put out a video that was kind of like, here comes the playoffs. And he was like a lion. It was like about a lion. And there was like hyenas or something in the video or something. But it's talked about the king of the jungle, something like that. And Rabel played the video on our team meeting.

And he's like, if he's a lion, then we're effing hyenas. And that's the whole thing. We're going to be hyenas. And he showed us a video of how hyenas hunt and they laugh and they have blood on their face. And he's like, we're going to be the hyenas. So there's this whole thing that we were this pack of hyenas coming in and take down the line. So that was kind of, you know, Brady and Vrable probably talk trash to each other. Oh, my God.

Maybe before I was born. Yeah. This is gone a long time. But Brady, but Bray will use Brady's video as bulletin board material, which is whatever is Tom Brady. but I think we went in with a sense of like, okay, we know what the challenge is going to be and we're going to be this we went super underdog

hyena role kind of leading into this, which got our boys believing a little bit. And it worked. And it wasn't like a false. We've seen the Letterman jackets. We've seen the this. We've seen that,

nah, they came in and they were ready to fight. Jackie, what's the game? We talked a little bit about the lead up to this thing. Patriots ended up with the three seed, four and four in the final eight. Six and two at home this season, though. First time hosting a wild card game since 2009. Not something that's familiar at Gillette.

Tennessee, on the other hand, six seed coming in there, looking to play the underdog. Hyena roll there, seven and three in the last 10. And then a little preview of the series notes there. Patriots were eight and two in the last ten meetings between the Titans and Patriots. So what's the mantra? So the hyena was the mantra.

What did you guys as an offense have to do or a defense to do to win the game? So we're eight and two in the previous 10. But the last time we played you guys, we beat you in New England. Right. And we, no, in Tennessee. And me and you went at it. You know that one. You left limping, I think, that game.

On the fucking throw. Remember that throw? I got. It was like a third down that's the side of the game. And I broke it up. But he left like dragging his leg off. You guys somehow won the Super Bowl that year, right? We won the Supi that year.

Yeah, it was crazy. Because it wasn't your strongest team, but you guys kind of got it together at the end. That was when you beat the Rams. But we beat you guys last time we played a lot of our game plan, and I give credit to Dean P's and Rable, is they understood, like, we can have all these defenses. And everyone's going to say the same thing

when you're playing against Tom Brady. Get them off the spot. Get them out the pocket. Get the hands up. This guy's not a mobile quarterback. He's been seeing that for 20 years. So what our team understood was that we're not going to let them have tight windows. We're going to play tight on-body coverage as much as possible.

and we're going to put our best players in the position to make plays. So we can blitz Adory. We can blitz Malcolm and do boundary corner blitzes. But they might not finish the sack. Like we're only going to blitz Logan. And we're going to put Kevin Byard in Brady's windows as much as possible. A lot of robber. A lot of too high, non-traditional tampas where Kevin's the middle runner.

A lot of blitz with Kevin blitz him through the A-gap. So we put our best, not our best players. They put what our players do best in those positions, right? So I was in the middle of the field and we know that you're going to run a lot in the middle of the field. And Kevin's going to have eyes on Brady a lot and Kevin's lean to league and interception. So we found ways, if you remember, like, when we played you guys in Tennessee, we had to sack right before half time. And that was me and Kevin Byer doing a twist blitz. We're two DBs rushing before the Hail Mary attempt.

You know, we sack Brady. So we had this game plan previously when we played you guys to make it really tough in the middle of field, put our best players in the middle of field. And obviously we're bringing that to you. And now, if you look at your roster, you bring up your receivers, it's not the most talented receiving core you guys have ever had. So we felt confident playing man and man with Malcolm and Dory being on an island. Then I was just going to have to deal with you. And I was going to have some help in some coverages. But it's going to be me and you deciding a lot of these things in the middle of the field. And Kevin Byard having eyes on Brady and we're going to make everything tough. And we're going to go down with the game being kind of me and

you and seeing where the chips fall. And they seem to fall all right. Let's go. Let's jump into it. This is, this was a painful revisit, painful rewatch being some Patriots homers here. Like Logan said earlier,

this is a foggy, misty, eerie kind of night at Gillette. It starts off with a Patriots eight-play drive. It ends in three. Huge. Huge. Huge for them to get the field goal. Yep.

Get on the board. They get on the board. They get a win. Stop and get three. And this next drive was, fucking forever. Oh my God. In the first quarter.

12 play, 75-yard drive. You got Derek Henry runs of 7, 8, 9, 10, just pounding that thing. Ends in a first-kirt TD. They're up 7-3, eats up the rest of the quarter. Jules, no targets in the first. Didn't really have any opportunities at all

because the stinking Titans had the ball for the whole time. Respond with a 10-play, 75-yard drive, almost six minutes. Jules ends that thing in a little reverse TD. You take us through that one real quick, Jules. Yeah. It was actually funny because Tom yells at me.

We were supposed, I don't know, we had like three fucking reverses in this week, right? And one's overseeing. One's from the slot spot. One's where I got to come over from this other area. They're all the same play. But you doll them up differently to get the eyes in different spots. I was in the wrong spot at first. Tom's yelling at me.

I go to the wrong, I go to the right spot. And then he motions. And it almost plays off like it was like part of it. Yeah, please let me talk about that. So that was real. because I study so much on receivers mannerisms if they point, you know,

if they go block somebody, they're going to go block them. But when they're pointing, when Jules is pointing to block someone, I know it's a pass because he never points when he's actually going to block somebody. So I figure these things out about receivers. So Jules is lined up confused.

And he's sitting there and not ready. He's like, what? And Tom's like, Jules, what are you doing? He's like, what do you mean? I'm where I'm and they're yelling at each other. And I'm just sitting there. Then they snap the ball.

And he takes off on a reverse. I have you in man to man. So I'm following you the whole game. And you don't look like you're ready. You and Tom are yelling at each other. Then he snapped the ball. I thought it was all by design. I thought it was all to create confusion by design to get me not ready.

Then by time I chase you down, I'm running through all this traffic. It was where he worked. And you score. It was straight madness and confusion. I thought it was by design. No, it wasn't. It was not by design. That's a guy that watches film right there, baby.

Oh, my telling you. He got me because I don't know what they were supposed to do. So you guys, after first quarter, you guys are fucking, you guys are probably like, we're going by the game playing right now. We're keeping the offense off the field. Keep it low scoring, run the ball to Derek, punts are okay. We'll talk about that. Punning is not a bad drive.

Play the field position game. Wear them down because, you know, Derek gets better as a game gets going. So we can keep it low scoring and keep it a running game, then we're playing our type of game. How was it coming to Gillette, like, as the game, starts and now you're in the game. You're coming in through the different side of the tunnel. It had to be kind of surreal.

It was surreal. And, you know, I played you guys, like I said, two years prior in a playoff game. So I kind of got that out the way. So it wasn't so many, you know, hey, hello's. I remember Bill came up to me in warmups or I saw him when I was doing my lap. And he's like, you're having a great year. Like, good job. And I'm like,

is he trying to butter me up? Am I, you know? So it wasn't too many of the hey, hello's. I think we got that out the way because we played each other so much. we did some joint practicing. So I've been out that tunnel before. But yeah, really eerie night with the fog. I've never seen it that foggy there. And the crowd was really quiet that night.

I think for both sides, almost seeing how this game would play out. Yeah. Then we get into the second quarter. 14 to 3 at the half, tightens up. But it was kind of like... I got to talk about this halftime. 14.13, sorry.

What happened to halftime? So right before halftime, you guys are, I believe you guys have the ball and you're in some position to try to do a two-minute drive and we're in a defense similar to what the final defense is is going to be at the end of the game. And we're in this dime defense and I'm a rat player. Remember our goal is to put me and Kevin Byer

in positions in the middle of the field. And we brought in all these extra corners so I can be a rat, which is different than what you guys probably see. And that means he has no responsibility. I have no responsibility with the read the quarterback. I get to read. read Tom's eyes. And I've played against Tom every day in practice for years. So I have a jump on the ball. I don't know why Tom threw it, but I essentially drop a walking pick six. I remember that.

I dropped the pick six. And I have going to be five interceptions this year. I'm having a really good year. Not a lot of drops. We're all going to drop the ball at DB at times. But I'm not a guy. I'm a guy that known for having good hands at DB. He could catch. And I ran before I caught it. I don't know if we're going to play the clip or anything, but I dropped it. And I remember. And I remember going into, we go into half. We're winning, but Vrabel's going off saying, we're not going to get opportunities like that. We need our best players to make plays when it matters and essentially single me out at halftime. And I just was like, I got you. I'm going to catch the next one. Like move on. Like I got it. Like I'm going to catch the next one. I just remember

like looking down on my gloves and being like, bro, you got it like, we didn't come this far just to come this far. You didn't come this far to drop a pick six and that's the reason why your team loses. I was like, you got to catch the next one. I remember telling myself, I'm going to catch the next one. Everyone's like, yo, you're good, you good. You got it. Logan. Like, don't worry about that. Don't worry about Rabel. Rabel went off on me at halftime. I just stood up. I was like, I'm going to catch the next one. Like, don't worry about it. And obviously there's going to be a next one. Unfortunately, there was the player Logan's referring to as a a pass to Ben Watson around the New England 40 right off Ben Watson's hands right into Logan's hands.

Drop the easy. Probably easiest pick of my career. Yeah. Crazy. Yeah, it just was like a fucking muddy game. It was exactly how you guys wanted to play it. We couldn't get anything going. We would drive the ball, but then situationally, they would get tight. We'd hit a good third down every once in a while. I got you on a couple routes, a couple of the readits. But then we'd get in the red area and you guys would shut the fucking door.

It was just a rough day. More punts in the fourth. And then that takes us to the end when Tennessee punts it back to New England. Down on the one. Oh, man. 15 seconds left. The score is 14, 13. I remember they're like, all right, defense, one more stop.

I mean, it was 14 seconds. Yeah, 14 seconds. But you talk about the Saints game. Brady winning the game years prior with with very little time. Obviously more than 14 seconds. But I go on the field, I'm like, I've seen this movie too many times with Tom Brady. But put my helmet on. I'm like, all right, we called that special defense where I'm a rat.

I'm in the middle of the field. Tom tried to get a, you know, a play started to get the drive going with a nice little easy completion. Terrell Brown, my boy, to Muhammad Sunoo. Another Rucker's guy. Get to tipped up in the air. I'm right place, right time, had a good read. Pick it off. Now decision time.

So I'm obviously, if I'm picking Tom Brady off, I'm scoring it every time. But if you look at time and score, it's 14, 13 with 14 seconds left. I don't know how many timeouts you guys have. It's go down territory. So I should technically. You gave a slide. Yeah. So the fact that I scored gave us an opportunity.

Gave him opportunity because now it's a seven point game, a chance of kick return or something like that. So if you ever look at this. this replay, Vrabel is yelling. The whole sideline is going crazy. I mean, it's yeah. And no, everyone's going crazy just like, yeah. And Rable's like, get down, get down. Take to his head and said like, what, what the F are you doing? We already got into it at half time. Right. So this is like my get back at Brabel moment. But I go and score that thing so quick. And Vrable was pissed at me, I believe. I mean, with what you guys, we didn't even talk about the fucking

shenanigans in the five-minute offense that you guys did. You guys were such a situationally tight team. Yeah, the punting stuff. And you're such a situationally tight player. But for this, I mean, to foreshadowed to think that this is Tom Brady's last throw as a fucking patriot. Yeah. I mean, there's no, you have to go in the end zone.

Got to. You got it. Yeah, yeah. Look, there's a chance that if we kick it off and you guys kneel it, we squibbed it, obviously, then Tom has one more pass to go. Yeah. But this ended up. being Tom Brady's last time ever throwing a pass in a Patriot uniform was a pick six to me.

The kid that was just trying to be fourth in the parking lot. So it's a, it felt like a full circle moment. You know, I've always felt like a Patriot, but that felt like a full circle moment to go back and get that ball and win that game. And I kind of grew up learning how to be a pro from you guys. So to go back and be able to be at my prime and get to go against you and Tom, it was obviously, it felt good. You know, and it, you know,

you try to look at the great things out of this as a patriot. You know, it was tough. I watched this game doing the research and I had awful feelings. Felt sad. But the one positive is that at least it was one of our own that put the bullet in our head.

There you go. At least it was one of our own that put us in it. out back and put the bullet in our goddamn head. Well, obviously my phone exploded after this play, right? My wife is there. My daughter's in the crowd. Wags, you're probably going nuts.

Malcolm Butler's family's there. Our kids are there. We're both Patriots. I know. So we're there. My phone is going nuts. But when I tell you my Twitter went from you're the worst player ever for dropping the pick six to now going crazy about catching the pick six at the end of game was the

craziest Twitter reversal of comments you can get. But I check, you know, I'm not, I can't even open all the DMs, bro. I'm sure you know who's the craziest person that hit you up after that. I mean, Tom Brady hit me up after that, bro. Wow. TV, he hit me up, slid in the DMs. I don't know what phone number he had at the time. You know, he's always changing his number. And he hit me up. He said, congrats low, like, heck of a game. And if I had it thought to anybody, I'm happy I'll do it to you. Class act. So TB, did a TB slid to Tampa? You probably started looking at real estate in Tampa.

Tampa. TB won't ring the next year with Tampa. The Bucks can thank me for that. Sent the boy down to Tampa. Yeah, crazy. Obviously, this is a career-defining play for me. Career-defining game. I've had some other plays, but I don't think it gets bigger than this one. And my boys, Tony Romo, Jim Nance on the call. Now they're my colleagues at CBS. That's right. The family, baby. All of its full circle. You might get a little clock over there. You might get some more clock. It might be, I might be Romo and me and Logan and Nance. That was a good ring to it.

Man, no, yeah, that was, it's a fun game to get done. It's a fun game to get done. What's the aftermath of this? We mentioned earlier the Titans would go on there, their Cinderella run that would come to an end against Kansas City in that AFC championship game, unfortunately. This would be Tom Brady's final game, final pass as a New England Patriot.

Logan will go on to join the Giants the next year. Brady and Gronk would team up in Tampa. We know that. at Logan would then go join them. Go down there and join the Bucks in Tampa. Why not? One last ride with my guy. Why not, man? And then Jules would retire in 2021, Logan in 2022,

after two Super Bowls and 11 years in the league. Insane. Man. Couldn't run more. Man. Couldn't run no more. Me and you both, brother. Sorry, brother.

I have so much respect seeing you as a young football player develop into the player you were and that you were going to be remembered as with the countless amount of awesome big plays for your team in crucial situations, your ability to be a great team guy, that you were always in your own little circle, but you always worked and you were always a great example for younger guys to have,

man. It's been awesome to watch from afar when we stopped playing together. Yeah. But then also it's been really cool to see you and catch up with how you are as a father and how you are as now a media guy. You know, you're doing great

things and it was expected because if you know Loeb, you know he's a hard worker. He's going to give his undivided attention and detailed to anything that he's interested in, that he wants to be good in. And that's a prime example of your life. And it's been so cool to get to know you. We weren't always,

we used to butt heads because we used to have to fight against each other. Every day, but I love Loeg, but I hate Loeb because I had to bring my A game because this motherfucker would study me every day. You look at some of our team. I forget how good those teams were because you only think about some of the 14 and 2. You know, five defense like points per game. It's ridiculous. If you look at some of our defenses, like on all those teams, they're like top five defenses all time. but no one talks about the Patriot defenses. No.

They always want to talk about Ravens. They always want to talk about Steelers. I always want to talk about, you know, teams that haven't won. Having a great offense does help your defense, though.
