What a wild week 10 in the national football league.
We're right here in the Nut House.
And we had to hop on to bring you guys a little recap.
We had to get a little recap.
I got Kyler here.
We're missing Jack.
I think he's on Riverside.
We got the boys.
Let's start with these freaking Patriots now.
Let's start with them.
Okay.
I went on Fox Kickers.
kickoff, Veterans Day special with NFL kickoff combined two-hour special show.
I don't know what it was called, but that's what I felt like.
Did you also repel?
I didn't, I haven't got the rappel.
I didn't get the repel memos.
I'm on practice squad, dog.
Come on, man.
You were the standing.
You're on practice squad still.
I still got my reps.
I know my role.
I know my role.
I know my role.
But let's move on to.
the Patriots win in Tampa Bay.
Like I said, when I was talking about this on the show,
I said this is going to be a tough matchup,
but right now, the bucks are banged up
and this would be a good test for the Patriots.
And boy, on the road.
On the road.
After a bucks by week.
After a bucks by week.
Baker can sling it.
Patriots secondary has been a little bit if he lately.
You know what?
My immediate reaction to this,
we got us a tough football team.
And they look fast.
We had a tough football team, and they look fast.
I haven't seen this much speed on a Patriots team in a long time.
I'm talking about, you know, even when we won a Super Bowl in 18,
I don't think we had this much speed.
These guys are fast.
Trayvon Henderson, it was great to see Williams break out and have a big play,
third rounder.
We've been waiting for him.
Now they look fast, and they look tough.
Why do they look tough?
because they can run the football and they're stopping the fucking run.
And they're doing well on special teams.
That was always what I was in doctor and how to be a tough football team.
You got to run the ball, stop their own, and cover kicks.
And it looks like they've been doing that.
They got a lot of juice right now.
They're in a good pocket of winning.
You know, now, to the buck's defense, they're beat up.
They're beat up.
You know, they got to hold on.
And, you know, they still tried to come back.
Bakes still tried to bring boys back.
Amika and Bucca's Real Deal, Holyfield.
Tess Johnson looked good.
Making plays over there.
They're just beat up over in Tampa.
And right now, the Patriots, like I said, are in this pocket of winning.
And what I mean by that is when you win games, it becomes contagious in the locker room.
Like when you start winning.
Then everyone in the locker room is there on Tuesdays, which we've heard reports.
I saw that. Everyone was working out in the off day.
Okay, everyone coming in, they're doing a little extra, watching a little extra film, you know, throwing a little extra chalk on the hands, get a little workout in, get a little run in.
And then you can't wait for that Wednesday practice because of all the things you didn't do well in the game, you want to work on those.
You want to work on the stuff because you're in this pocket of winning where everyone in that building right now believes, hey, I know it's early.
And football season hasn't even started yet
It's not cream season
And we all know football season
Don't start until Thanksgiving
Getting close though
It's getting damn close
Some of the things I didn't like
Hated the turnover
In the end zone
Yeah
By Drake May
The interception
Um
Hated that
Hate that
I don't like saying hate
But I hate that
Didn't like was there a fumble
I don't think there was
I think that's maybe the only
There was a couple of in
Like self-inflicted third down
like fall starts that they have they've been doing that quite a bit this season penalties can't do
that hasn't been in the ass yet but it will at some point drake made some unbelievable plays again
on third down third and longs he's made some throws where he sits up in that pocket takes a kiss
from what defensive end right after and completes a ball like he did to williams and that guy takes
all like they're making they're making cool plays they're making awesome plays and they're making
the layups too. I mean, five for 13, or four for 14 on third down, ain't going to win you a lot of games,
but they were two for three on fourth down. One for two in the red area. They skipped the red area
a lot because they got so many explosion plays. You know, this team, they can continue to run the
football and they can continue to make the explosion plays. Like Drake, you know, 16 for 31,
that's not lighten it up. That's not lighting it up. But two touchdowns. A couple of
couple scrambles, you know, and they're coming together as a team.
The defense, I love the defense stopping that run because what that does is makes teams
one-dimensional and then they can get creative with their, with their coverage.
Oh, this is the first time a running back ran for more than 50 yards against the Patriots all year.
Yeah.
I mean, there was a little bit of, yeah.
There's only 53 yards, but still.
That's going to break, okay?
But the thing is, they're getting confident.
and stopping the run.
And ultimately, they got to stop the run
against Buffalo Bills when they play them.
Because that's what they have to do
to win the game.
Something I'm really excited for with this team
is like the perseverance.
You make a mistake, you bounce back, right?
Like, hey, Drake threw a interception
in the end zone to like put the game away
and like the defense showed up.
And like they just responded to that as a unit
to overcome some of the mistakes that they've been making.
You know what?
They've definitely had some answers
like they've fold it they fell in a couple holes in these last few weeks and then they answer
and that's mental toughness you know that that's guys that are confident in what they believe
in what they're preaching over there and they're like all right yeah we we can't do this but like
like short memory we got to move on there's still a game to be played we can't get mopey
dopey and you know fucking raves with some balls over here you know take a
the knee on on the uh yes the goal line yeah that right before half that whole situation they
called that the last shot made it a lot closer than than than than you want great catch by digs
great catch by digs how about how mentally tough is he with all the shit that's going on off
the field this guy's still balling and he's getting better like i said he would as the year went on
because that knee is only going to get stronger he's going to get better too you know
You know, huge reason why they didn't bring some one.
They need to get booty back.
Yep.
They need to get booty back.
Pop Douglas made up another couple plays.
Matt Collins.
Show us up when you need him.
He's been real effective.
You want to know why?
Because he's effective in the run game.
And then they hit him on these little play action boots on these crossers where they get
them in those nasty splits.
And, you know, he's had some big plays, strong hands.
Six catches, 106 yards.
You know, he's a good football player.
And he does a lot for your day.
team and he has a nastiness to him he's got a toughness to him uh henderson great to see him do that and a lot
of people keep on always coming up to me especially you know uh around everywhere and and they're
like you know how come they're not playing them i'm like they got a like let's we're still learning
the team kids a rookie you know he's we know he ran 22 1 or he ran 22.01 he's flying uh
He's still got to learn.
James White didn't play right away.
James White caught 15 catches in the Super Bowl.
It takes time.
And James, you know, like, he's got some,
that's intangible speed.
I don't know if that's a,
I know an intangible is usually like freaking like,
oh, your, your leadership.
No, that's intangible speed.
Yeah, it's game day speed.
It's like Jerry Rice didn't run a fast 40,
but like on the field.
I think he ran a fast 40, though.
He's fast.
Yeah, he's very, he's very, he ran a fast 40.
I think he ran 4-3.
The last time, I think he did.
The last time a Patriot had multiple 50-yard runs in a game
was Lawrence Moroni in 2007.
He had a 55-yard or a 69-yarder.
Shut-out ground.
Those are big-boy plays.
And they were up the middle, too.
Yeah, but he bounced.
They all kind of condensed.
The first one was at the middle.
And they used his speed.
No one's going to catch him.
But that's really good to see him step in, step up.
Look, they get the Jets on a Thursday.
Okay.
you can't take the Jets lightly.
Division team, division game, Thursday night game.
You know, the Thursday night game is all about who can prepare the best,
the quickest, most efficient without real practice.
That's what a Thursday night game is.
So usually it's a little more vanilla in your game plan.
It's, you go to the things you work on,
you go to the things that you do the best.
And so that's why those Thursday games are kind of mutters,
especially this late in the season where you know you're week 10 a week 11 there's some you're banged up
this is the this is the grimy part of the season this is the season where the competitive stamina
has to kick in because once you get past Thanksgiving there's light at the end of the tunnel
you're playing for something right now you're still playing for something but you're you know
it's July baseball it's July baseball you wake up it's dark you go to work you leave the
building is dark you go to work it's a little colder it takes a little longer to get out of the shower
you know it's when it's that cold that hot shower feels good in the morning you know this is the
grind part of the season you don't feel good you got an ankle you got a thigh bruise you got
bruised ribs this is the part of the season where it gets hard so you're going to learn a lot about
teams during this part and this is where you know the pasteurization period starts and that cream
starts rising the top i'm excited
for the Patriots getting their seventh straight win.
Yeah, that's encouraging.
Makes me, you know, it's kind of like,
I like going to work.
I like going to Fox.
You know, everyone's got their team.
I feel bad for Stray with those giants.
He gets so mad.
Howie with the Raiders.
Feel bad.
Terry with the Steelers.
I felt bad this weekend.
Charles with the Raiders.
I felt bad.
Packers too.
Packers.
Packers, we still got,
you see that's that thing.
Charles gets a day.
dip and del. But me and Charles are both a little worried about the Packers against Philly.
You know, so it's always good to go home or go to work when the boys are doing well.
So to wrap up Patriots tied for first in the AFC and third tech?
Two games up.
Yeah, two games up.
Hey, you cannot pat yourself on the back.
Like I said, this is the toughest part of the season.
This is where you're going to start to see, you know, the good teams separate, okay?
The good teams stay on the gas.
and that means staying on the gas
to your preparation.
This is when it gets harder to do the extra stuff
because you're beat up, you're tired,
you're worn out a little.
Young players, they're 11 weeks in the book.
First year, guys.
You're towards the end of your college season right now.
You usually got a month off until you get your bowl bag
and you're playing your Xbox
and you get your free Chick-fil-A card.
You got a month off?
Nah, not in the NFL.
You're still playing.
You're halfway through.
That worky wall.
But maybe the Patriots played this right with Trayvon Henderson.
Doesn't have many reps going in to this stretch.
I don't know.
And one last thing, Drake May, for all you Vegas heads out there,
is now the odds on favorite for MVP.
Love it.
I like it.
I like it.
But what was this point last year with Sam Darnold?
Because remember Sam Darnold took a dump?
in the last couple weeks.
And that's when you want to play your best.
So this is going to be an important time for Drake.
Screw the MVP, but just for the team to play his best at the end
because that's the best, the hot teams win.
Hot teams win.
You mentioned Giants.
Let's talk about Giants.
Breaking news.
Yeah.
Ski ball.
He's gone.
They fired Brian Dayball,
week 10 after Giants.
lose that 10-point fourth quarter lead to the Chicago Bears.
You know, I feel bad.
It's never cool.
When any head coach gets fired,
you got to remember these people got families, kids.
They're at the schools over in the areas.
The kids are probably heckling the shit out of them.
Your dad, this, that, you know.
But what I don't feel bad is he'll be getting paid.
Not like those college guys, but he'll still feel like.
Okay.
He'll be getting paid.
So he was 20 for 40 and one tie in his three and a half years in New York and one in the playoffs.
Got to win with Daniel Jones in the playoffs.
People forget about that.
At this point, the Giants have not yet named an interim head coach,
but we'll double check in before we end up recording.
Yeah, it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Where do you think the Giants go from a head coach direction after this?
There's a team down in Chapel Hill is playing a little better.
what if the Giants brought in
Bill Belichick
What do you
Do you think that's even a possibility?
I don't know
I mean he has a relationship with the Mars
He fucking loves him
We all know that
Guy shed a single tear
Every time we played there
The old time I saw him get happy
We talk about LT
I was joking
But like
I don't
know the giants really don't make like crazy hires like that they also don't really move on from
in season either they're very conservative so maybe because they did an in season change they're
changing their way a little i don't know i who knows i think they're going to want to probably try to
try to get someone that's sexy for jackson dart cliff kingsbury kingsbury cliff i you know i i don't know
the thing with Cliff
and
coach the next one is his last one.
Yeah.
You know,
the next head coach job
is his last head coach job
unless you're going to go back to college.
But Giants,
young quarterback,
right,
offensive talent,
the Maras are very conservative,
so you're going to be there
for at least three,
four years.
Yeah.
It's like a tough market
to be in from a...
Very tough market to be in.
Got a lot of defensive talent.
Yeah, that defensive line.
And I don't, it's, where's day ball?
Is he, where's he going to end up?
Consultant for the Patriots?
Probably.
I don't know.
No, he's not, Bill's not there.
Did he have a relationship?
Was he there when Brable was there?
Yeah, he was there.
Yeah.
But I don't know their relationship.
Uh, McDaniels is there.
Uh, McDaniels is there. Go be an offensive consultant.
Yeah, but I don't know.
Probably not.
I don't think the Patriots are in that world yet.
Or, you know what, Dave,
take a breath, hang out with your family.
Yeah, but see what next year looks like.
He loves football.
Yeah.
I could see him going back to Buffalo maybe.
Hmm.
With Josh Allen.
That's interesting.
Because Josh Allen and him had a, he developed,
he helped develop Josh.
Mm-mm.
I like that move.
I don't know about like head coach.
What are they?
Joe Brady.
I mean, they're doing decent things, but I don't know.
Because if, look, if the bills, if the bills go out and gets beaten the first round of playoffs, like, what happens there?
You got to start thinking about it.
And I like McDermott.
I like him a lot.
He's a great coach.
But you can't change unless you change.
He just had a milestone for wins.
He probably did.
He's got a lot of wins in this league.
Yeah, I think he just got his 100th win.
Or is that 99?
No, they just lost to the dolphins.
I think he might have got it last.
That should be a react too.
He's close to 100 wins.
Close to that.
That's a lot.
He's a great coach,
but sometimes, you know,
sometimes you need a little shake-up.
I don't know.
I don't want to talk about other people's jobs,
but we were talking about Brian Dayball,
who just lost his job.
And I, you know, who knows?
Before we move on from Giants,
you had an interesting thing to say
about Jackson Dart this morning.
I'd love to hear you expand upon that.
Kind of reminds you of Drake May last year.
Why is that?
Makes a bunch of kind of big plays,
still kind of raw.
He's got like a little aura to them.
You look at the stat lines.
They don't look great,
but you don't, if you watch the game,
you see the flashes of great.
Passes the eye chick.
Yeah.
Yeah. And I, I, he's got to take care of his body, though. He takes a lot of hits.
And I mean, you got the concussion.
You got a concussion.
Yeah. Or at least in the protocol. I don't know if you get. Regardless. He's out.
Yeah. He's, you know, he can run the ball, too.
He had a couple big runs.
Um, let's move on.
Let's go to the Atlanta.
Is a joming game in Bolin?
Yeah.
This was the Jonathan Taylor game, right?
Holy smokes.
Indiana beats Atlanta, 31, 25,
and an overtime thriller in Deutsche Land.
Wow.
You know, I was pissed.
I didn't get to watch it.
I watched, like, the highlights,
and I watched, like, the condensed.
Why don't you wake up?
Didn't set the alarm?
No, we were freaking doing our show.
Oh, yeah.
We're doing the military show.
And usually they have, but it was like,
Like, the live of...
Because you're outside.
We were outside.
We didn't have our TVs.
And I usually love the early day morning when you're at work and you get to watch a little football, get a little taste.
Yeah.
You know, warm you up.
Yeah.
It didn't get to.
But from what, you know, when you watch the highlights, 34 carries, 24 yards and three touchdowns, including a walk-off game winning touchdown in overtime.
This is an offensive player of the year moment.
I mean, I'm not going to say MVP.
I mean, he's close to being on pace to LT's, like, total touchdown record and rushing record.
Like, he's like, he's in the ballpark.
He's on pace for 1,900 yards.
Sequin did 2,000 last year.
I think Seyquan had like a 275-yard game last.
How many touchdowns, though?
Hertz ate a lot of touchdowns from him.
Ertz took all the touchdowns from him.
So, but I'm just saying, like, you got to destroy.
a record if you're going to go in that MVP category.
And they may,
they watch,
the NFL may give it to a non-quarterback this year
because politically,
you know what I mean?
Like,
everyone's talking about it.
Just,
you know what I mean?
Like,
so if it's like Drake May or an insane year of Jonathan Taylor
or Daniel,
like something like that,
I can see them being like,
okay,
let's come it to the running back.
Yeah.
If it's like Josh Allen who had an insane year
or Mahomes who had an insane year,
they're going to like.
The big boys.
Yeah, yeah.
I buy that.
You got to be at the big boy table before you get it.
I track with that.
I don't know.
That was an insane game.
He's on pace for 2300, 23 plus 100.
2,300 plus scrimmage yards,
fourth most ever in a season,
not far off Chris Johnson's 2509.
But let's take a second.
We got to say thank you to the troops.
Thank you to the veterans.
Anyone who's served this country.
what Veterans Day is, anyone who served, men, women.
We do not take this lightly here in the Nut House.
We love our troops, our military.
My grandfather served on the Arizona.
Not Wallachup, oh, no.
Not Wallach up on.
Came back on the Enterprise from World War II.
You know, so we have some roots, and we appreciate you guys.
That was fun.
Another recap, NFL recap from the Nut House.
Hit the comments.
If you want us to keep doing this stuff,
I like doing it.
It helps me for TV.
I like getting Gronk involved.
We'll have Gronk more in here too as well.
In Jackson Town.
Jackson Town.
But it's just good for me to just get it out for my preparation going forward.
Yeah.
So if you like these, like, like, subscribe, comments, tell your friends, share it around.
Because, yeah.
Argue with me?
Yeah.
Let's go.
I'm not here to argue, but I'm just giving you what I think.
Just drop a troll take in the comments to start the engagement to go crazy.
Yeah.
And again, guys, new games with names tomorrow.
We got Willie Mack, Willie McGinnis,
founding father of the Patriot Donant Dynasty,
talking about the goal line stand game.
Against the Colts.
That's a good one.
And then we also have a new dudes on dudes dropping this Thursday.
We'll be talking with Gronk about signing a one-day contract
to retire a Patriot.
forever and maybe a little Thursday night preview.
Maybe a little Thursday night preview.
We're going to be, I don't know if we've talked about this,
but I'll be with Rob in Boston.
Perfect.
And we'll be recording the episode right after the press conference
where he signs the contract.
There we go.
So it's a perfect time.
We'll do a little Patriots Jets preview.
Patriots Jets preview.
Also a teaser.
There's a fun little wrinkle that we haven't been talked about yet.
That's going to be fun.
You know, Patriots Jets, Thursday night,
those are muddy, mutter.
I remember those games.
They were hard.
We used to play them a lot
early in the year.
There was one.
I went to one
and I was so happy
because Mike Vic
was the quarterback for the Jets.
Yeah.
It had have been like
2012 or 13.
Yeah.
That was fine.
Was that in Foxborough?
Yeah, in Foxborough.
I think it ended on a block kick.
The Jets could have won
but it was a block kick.
Anyway,
like, subscribe the whole thing.
Like and subscribe.
We'll see you guys then.
To beat the champ,
you got to knock about.
The Dodgers stand tall
and went back to back.
