And our guest today is a guitar player for Cold Chamber and Gemini Syndrome.
A pioneer, a big influence.
And he definitely, without knowing, which is the best way,
he was waving the flag for us rhythm guitar players.
So a great guy.
Hope you enjoy this one.
Let's get into it.
Please welcome.
Nice to ask you.
Well, Miggs, cheers, man.
Cheers, bro.
Good to see you, man.
Great coffee, bro.
I love it.
This is coffee.
yeah copy that tastes like beer
Corona coffee that tastes like
what is that Corona? Corona coffee
yeah I copy a brood in Corona
there we go well meeks
welcome to my hometown in Corona
California thank you
as well as born and raised and it's it's honored to
to have you specifically definitely
here in this town and in this room
it's pretty cool for having me here
I have a lot of
well thanks for inviting me because I'm a big fan
of your band but I'm also
a fan of the city
Glasshouse, right?
Is that what it's called?
Pomona, yeah.
No, no, no, that's that's Pomona.
But it's, I know the area
because it's close to there, right?
Are you talking about the showcase theater?
That's what I'm talking about.
It's right down the street right here.
That's what I'm talking.
I'm sorry.
Okay, I get it.
I had one only.
I had a boy.
No, but I've been there,
played there,
and I have fond memories
of playing the venue.
Wow.
Yeah.
I think I've seen, actually, no, no, I think about it.
I think I've seen videos of you guys playing there.
Yeah?
Yeah, floating around on YouTube.
You go deep into YouTube, like, you'll find some crazy shows, man.
You're like, what the fuck?
Like, if you type in, like, you know, whatever, like, like, part of the year you want to wear a pantera.
You type in that year.
Yeah.
Like, it'll fucking pop up, man.
You're like, whoa, someone was taping that.
Yeah, I've been sent some weird shit, like, and I look like a baby.
Like, I'm an old man now, but, like, back then I was a baby, and I get sent these videos of me playing these weird venues.
I've never, I don't even have any recollection of it.
Wow.
Yeah, so I'm, like, just, like, I don't remember that.
I don't not remember that.
But, yeah, YouTube is a great thing because they send you all these weird, you know, memories of past.
Yeah.
What a trip to see those videos on.
When you see videos when you were younger, doesn't it kind of scene sometimes where it's like,
Who is that?
That's exactly what I'm saying.
It's interesting, huh?
Yeah, I feel like it's a different person
because I feel that back then it was like
it's a capsule of time that I don't remember
because I really don't.
Because there's a lot of memories that are kind of forgotten
but when people send me these videos,
they come back kind of weirdly and I'm like,
wow, I feel like I'm watching another dude,
playing another dude.
Yeah.
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Like, it's like kind of one of those things where you're like, wow, it just seems like a character.
It does, huh?
No.
Especially like, yeah, we're like, like, the way like, the way we dress or the way we rocked out, you're like, whoa.
Yeah, exactly.
Oh, that's why my neck's fucked up.
That's why my back is always jacked up and, yeah.
Dude, yeah.
We start to feel it now, you know.
Yeah, dude.
I know.
I know.
And I don't like it.
Yeah, it's a bummer.
That's why, uh, that's what we.
have yoga.
You do yoga?
Yeah.
At the risk of sounding like a woo-woo guy, yeah.
It's yoga's been, honestly, for me, yoga saved my whole career.
No shit.
Yeah, I took it on like six years ago.
My back was jacked.
And it really does help.
Oh, it helped me.
Fuck, I should do yoga.
I'm not flexible, though.
Same.
Same.
It's like, thinking about yoga, I'm going to cut this short.
But wherever we were talking about yoga is that,
you could suck at it
not do it right but you still get
the full benefits
of it got it you can be like I'm not
flexible or like oh it's kind of weird
because of yoga but man we can do it I mean
it's all you
I should do it oh okay
yeah I
you know what I did
a hot yoga
a bunch of time that break room yoga
whatever hot yoga
oh you did the hardcore shit
dude it's crazy
because I'm laying there doing all these poses
and I had to leave at one session
because I couldn't breathe
because it's so hot
and yeah
I mean but you kind of get used
to the fact that it feels like someone's putting
a pillowcase over your head
that's what it feels like
really yeah
you can't breathe
because the air is so thick
and then you're like trying to do all these
weird poses and I'm like looking at a teacher
like I can't breathe dude I can't breathe
yeah and I
And he goes, dude, you're fine.
I am.
I'm just being super dramatic.
Yeah, cool.
Oh, I can't breathe.
And he goes, dude, you're fine.
You're going to live.
Yeah.
Wow.
Aren't the hot yoga sessions extended, more extended period of time?
Are they, like, an hour long or something?
Yeah, I think like 45 minutes to an hour.
Yeah, an hour.
I think so.
45.
Man, you're more hardcore than me.
You went straight in.
Dude, that was one of my first yoga things.
Moon the first one?
Oh, you're crazy, dude.
No, I didn't know it was being crazy because my wife was like,
yeah, it'll be fine.
I'm like, oh, okay, it sounds great.
Yeah.
And, yeah, sat there and it was not good.
Oh, my gosh.
I think maybe your wife was secretly trying to punish you.
I think she wants it.
I think she hates me.
Trying to like, hey, try this hot yoga.
It's good for you.
It's good for you.
It's like playing the show.
It's exhilarating, yeah.
Good for you.
Fuck you, actually.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Well, at least you have some experience with it.
Yeah, yeah.
How did your back feel after?
You know what?
If the yoga, when you're doing such a heat extreme temperature and you're doing these poses,
everything feels looser.
Like, you feel good and, yeah, things don't hurt.
So there is, I mean, there is a lot of, like, good things coming out of that.
but that's extreme
to do hot yoga.
It really is.
Don't you maybe
kind of secretly wish you
kind of maybe found that
when we were in the early 20s
to where like, oh shit,
I wish I had this to have
like a mental, like
stable.
Sure, but I was also doing a lot of,
you know, back then I was doing a lot of drugs
and a lot of other stuff.
So I don't think I would have been doing yoga.
Yeah.
I just wouldn't.
Yeah.
In my 20s, I was a fucking crazy
maniacs
man when did it start getting
when did it start getting crazy for you
I started getting crazy when I
picked up the guitar
literally I was like yes
I got superpowers
I didn't go crazy so
there was a lot of
well no I'm trying to be funny but
the second I
formed Cold Chamber with des
and things sort of I mean
it took off really fast
so things
got crazy. Like, my life stuff went from here
to here, like, in, like, within a span of a year, or a year
and a half. We got signed, and things just got really crazy.
Labels were after us, and, like, the local shows were, like, getting sold out, and, like,
everything was going really hectic, and, so that's when things were really crazy.
You know, obviously, I started getting into, like, stupid shit, and, yeah, but it was,
It's all a fun, right?
Yeah, it's all right.
It's all right.
Man, it's tough.
It's tough, on your fun.
Let me turn this off, sorry.
No, you're fine.
It's tough when you're young, man,
and then things just change so quickly.
And you have no, like, roadmap or anyone to even give you advice?
Because only, especially with the band stuff,
every band kind of has their own nuances.
of craziness and successors.
So you have kind of nowhere to go.
You just kind of have to deal with it.
There's definitely no instruction manual.
Like, you know, there's no, like, you know, how to behave
and how to, like, do this and that.
So, like, you know, being in a band
and being in this industry, it's kind of like,
it's like throwing a baby.
Imagine having a baby, and you go,
just throw them into the lotion.
Go for it, dude.
And you know, and you're just like,
God, you know, there's a lot of fish.
and you're trying to, you know, sink.
You're not trying to sink.
So being in, you know, yeah, the roadmap is, you'll find it, you know.
You'll find it eventually.
You find it eventually.
Yeah.
Seems most in time it's, uh, it's after the, it's after the chaos when you're in your 30s.
Yeah.
You're like, oh, then you can look back like, oh, fuck, I wish.
I know, I know.
You know, in retrospect, I feel that as older, wiser guys,
I feel that, you know, you look back and then you like, you know, it's easier to look back at stuff and go, wow, I would have done that different.
But that's the beauty of being a young guy and an older guy.
It's like, you know, you know, it's just a journey.
Everything's a journey and everything's kind of like a thing that you experience.
And as you have to experience those things to mature into the person you are.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, it's, yeah, we got a, it sucks that we're like, we're so human and like, we need those experiences to truly make us learn and change.
Yeah.
You know, it's, yeah.
Even if we probably, even if you probably even knew what you know now back then, you probably even want to still be able to apply it because you had to feel it and experience it.
Of course.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why does that have to be that way, man?
Shit.
That's called life.
It's life, dude.
Fuck.
Why is life?
Life.
I know.
I know, man.
That's crazy.
I know.
Dude, how was it...
I wasn't planning to dive in into this, actually, but since we're on the subject, how was it starting a band with Dez?
Because essentially, you both formed the cold chamber, correct?
Yeah.
Okay, so the way we formed the band, okay, so this was like the early,
90, I mean,
93, 93,
94, 92, 93, somewhere around there.
Yeah. I, uh, I wanted, I, I put an ad out.
Um, I, I put an ad out for a singer.
I, I, I was infatuated with white zombie.
I was infatuated to Alison Chains. I was, I, this is my shit,
Pantera.
Um, I put a nat out, go, hey, I just want somebody to kind of like, you know,
vibe off.
off and
um
Dez was one of the first people
that responded
um
and uh
he came to
rehearse I mean
we we kind of jammed out
and he was doing his thing
and I was doing my thing
and uh
we kind of really jelled
and uh
it was really weird
it it was one of those things
where you go fuck
this is cool
we didn't know what the fuck
we were doing
but we were doing something
that was just like
I was doing kind of like
to me like
Cole Chamber was kind of like
doing a lot
a lot of white zombie kind of riffing,
like especially like galloping,
like that, you know,
ton, dun, ta, don't,
you know, that type of groove.
And I was doing that,
and he was doing his thing.
And we kind of like, kind of just,
we got along so well that we,
we got together as,
as, as, uh,
together a lot.
We started partying a lot.
We started getting together,
writing songs.
Um,
yeah,
I mean,
that's kind of like the,
like the storyline.
in a nutshell, but yeah, we kind of vibed
and we just wrote a lot of shit.
And we have a lot of history
and, you know, we ended up being
Cold Chamber and like I said, in a year,
like there was like fucking a dozen labels,
like a bunch of labels after us.
It was crazy. It was a crazy time.
So can expand to you putting out an ad
do you guys actually hang out?
Yeah.
That was a year.
No, no, no.
So I put the ad out
I think from there, like him, I meet Locky Nice with him.
I think maybe we were together just partying, writing songs, getting together, watching shows.
Probably a couple.
We were friends for like a few years until we were like, hey, two, three years.
And then we decided, I think this is correct.
My memory is a little weird, but I think that was it.
And then we were like, hey, then we started right.
Then the nucleus of getting like a girl bass player
because we were trying to be white zombie.
So we got a girl with Rayna.
We got her because, oh, white zombie has a girl bass player.
And then like, yeah, yeah.
And then like we got Mikey who was like literally 17 years old.
Someone recommended Mikey because he was like, dude, this drummer is sick.
And he's perfect for you guys.
I was like, okay.
And the guy looked like he was like 12.
He calmed and he auditioned him.
And we're like, perfect.
And that was like a span of a few years.
And then we started writing.
And then we made a demo.
And then we, I think we, Dino.
Dino.
Yes.
Cazares.
My good friend back then, back now too.
But he was like, dude, this is cool.
Let me, let me give it.
Like Ross Robinson.
Let me give it to Roadrunner.
And, yeah, and they were all interested.
So it kind of just started spinning.
So this is like a span of maybe a few years, three, four years when I first met Des.
Because we got signed and we released the record in 97.
So I feel if my memory serves correct, I think I met Des in 90, like I said, 93, 94, maybe.
Somewhere around there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
So it was quick.
It was fucking quick, dude.
But we busted ass, man.
We're hustlers like that back then,
and we just hustled and just fucking just put flyers back when flyers were relevant.
And we were putting, like, posters.
And we were just, like, fucking, we bought, like, a little staple gun.
And we would get, buy these posters, cardboard posters from this print shop.
And we were just, like, like, scrambled, like, money from, like, people.
Hey, like, you know, back then we were broke.
And we were like, you know, we had, you know, girls, you know, helping us out.
Hey, I need some money for this poster.
So we're just like going away, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow.
Like Hollywood was just all cold chambered posters.
And then like, people were like, dude, I saw your fucking poster.
I'm coming to your show.
I don't know where the fuck you are, but I'm coming.
Because this is back then when people actually paid attention to,
to like things on the walls and like, oh, we'll come and see the show.
So, yeah, it's snowballed and, you know, the rest is history.
and, you know.
Yeah, and years, years later,
and all the thousands of miles traveled and records and life experiences.
It's crazy because this world, life is one big giant,
kind of like tour.
You know, it's like a tour.
Your life is just a fucking big, long tour.
I never even thought about that.
No, I know.
It's like everything happens up and downs and you're like, you know.
Yeah.
life is one big tour it is it kind of is yeah and we're just trying to have fun yeah i just want to
be part of this tour and just not fuck up yeah yeah yeah so i just want to play this fucking
show and not like you know now miss the note that's that's life to me yeah yeah man that's that's
incredible what made you start using such fucking fat strings dude like you had like a 70 gauge
for b what the fuck's a matter with you know what's wrong with me
There's a lot of wrong with me.
Yeah.
So, like,
okay, so my mindset back then,
and I know for a fact that no one was using 70 strings,
no one,
because you couldn't even find them at a store.
So I wanted to tune down,
like I was playing low tuning.
Of course, Korn is in the same,
like, we're L.A., Orange County area,
and we were playing, like,
back then, I think it was like,
like maybe
I think I went
from like C or C Sharp C
or something to B
and it was just like
and then I
I found out this band
was playing in B and A
and A or whatever
and I was like fucking I went to
I went to Nadine's in Hollywood
Nateine's music
and I go
hey I want my guitar
because I feel like it's
the strings are
it just it just doesn't
It's not working.
And I don't want seven string.
I want six string.
And it's just flopping.
And I go, he goes, well, you're going to need fatter strings.
I go, okay, what is the fattish fucking string you have right now?
And he goes, for guitar, not fat enough.
And I go, and then we're like brainstorming.
And my guy goes, dude, we're going to put a lap steel string.
Like a lap steel.
It's like a bass string.
Oh.
Like a lap steel.
You don't those, you know, those little.
a little country fucking lap steel guitars.
Yeah.
Like those things are thick.
So I go, I want that on my guitar.
He goes, dude, well, I don't know if we can't because we got to re-fucking, we got to reroute all your shit and we got to drill holes.
I go, yeah, okay, let's do it.
Like I had no, I had such an adventurous, like, almost like, I could see the future.
And I go, I want that.
I go, if you said, oh, dude, we can't do it.
I go, okay, I want to do it.
Yeah.
See, that's the thing.
And that's where young bravado comes in.
Like, I'm like, no, I want that.
Like, let's do it now.
And he goes, okay, I'll try.
So he does it.
And I have the fattest strings that any guitar player has.
And when I played it, I played through a PA system as my guitar cabinet.
So I had a PA.
I had a guitar amp.
I had a fucking bass PA.
And it sounded like shit, but it just sounded weird and cool.
So I was going br-br-br-like.
It just sounded like a disband.
sort of bass.
Whoa.
And yeah,
and that's where it started from.
And I would always go to the guitar companies,
and I mean,
string companies and go,
hey,
I,
I need a 70 to 20 something for the skinny one.
Yeah.
And they were like,
what?
I don't even know what you're saying.
I go,
that sounds like bass.
I go,
okay, cool,
let's do that.
So they were,
and they were just giving me these strings.
And all my guitars had to be rerouted
and kind of like cut,
like the bridges were
custom. Everything was custom.
The nut was custom.
Everything was just
a different beast. So my guitar was literally
a tuned down bass.
Wow. And that was
like in the early
90s. I was doing that.
Yeah, especially back
then. Now 70 it's like everyone has it.
I'm like, I know. Yeah. So now that everyone
has 70, I went lower. I would not lower
by when I just went like
oh you're 70 I gotta go
not so thick
I just went thinner
yeah
yeah
man I mean
I can't even imagine that
I mean I use 62 per drop A
and that seems like
that's too much
I have 64 for that
yeah yeah
that I mean but that part added
to the tone because that makes you
really have to fucking dig in
you have to dig in and really like
fucking play
have you ever play 70
Yeah, but up on drop A, never on B.
No, no, no, you can't do it on B.
It would, you couldn't, I don't think you could.
It's really hard to play on that.
Yeah.
Yeah, because it's way too tight.
And then you played it and you said, fuck it, this feels good,
or it feels like shit, but it sounds good.
It was like, it's weird because you do that and you're like,
I don't know if this is cool, but you just keep hacking at it.
Yeah.
And you're like, okay, it's, I guess.
I don't know.
It's a new.
music we're kind of inventing or getting into it.
Like, you know, I don't know.
This shit is new.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Especially where you were.
Man, what a trip like you're just around so much innovation.
Yeah.
You know?
That's exactly it.
And, like, you know, there was a band like system over down and like all these other bands.
And we're just doing something so new corn, obviously.
And we're all doing our thing and doing something so new.
There was no predecessor in terms of like, this is how it's laid out.
We were just going, oh, the old guitar rules were like out the window,
and we were just kind of like, I don't know, let's do this to this string,
and let's do this to this pedal, and let's do this to this amp.
Wow.
It felt like really new back then, man.
It was like a really new thing, and I felt like I was part of something new.
Yeah.
Like a new music, like a new thing, like a new everything, new instrument, new, you know,
it just felt new.
Yeah.
And during
such like a new time
and such a
innovative time
like how is that energy
that you guys actually got in the room
because we were just talking earlier
how when you guys write songs
you guys write in the room together
and you're jamming
and you're fucking looking at each other
and like
and like what was that like
writing those songs?
Dude
back then like obviously
back old school ways
we would be in a room,
excuse me,
and we would be looking at each other in the room,
probably half the sides.
Wow.
You know, and just, like, looking at loud,
tuned down, noisy, feedbacky.
Yeah.
Writing songs like that,
it just, you know,
my recollection of those times were like,
you know, like I said,
it felt new.
I was writing things,
and I was like, man, I've never,
I don't think I've heard this before.
Like, it feels.
felt like that. You're like, you're writing
something, you're like, oh, cool, and you just
go with it. It was an
exciting, like a very
exciting
like me and
Dads and having that history
like just seeing each other going, fuck,
remember in the early 90s
we were writing this fucking, a lot of
awful songs, but like a lot of cool
parts two of those. So we
kind of made songs out of those parts.
Yeah, so it was an exciting time, man.
That's great.
And it sounds like
It sounds like you never
You're doing something new
But you never questioned what you were doing
No, that's the part about like when you're young
And you have no safety net
You know
Because you're like, I'm not gonna die
I'm just gonna jump off this cliff
You're like you just jump
You're like, I'm just gonna jump
You're like what?
And there's no safety net, I don't care
You know and you just go and you soar
Into the fucking wind
And that's the beauty of like having no
kind of know like
oh I
like I gotta think about this
I gotta think about that
and you're just like
you're just alone
and you're just thinking about your band
and you're like you're hungry
and you just want it so bad
that you don't give a fuck
you know and that is the beauty
of being young and
you don't have to even be young
just being someone that just wants something so bad
that you don't give a fuck
about anything you go
I'm gonna do whatever it takes
and that's a lot
lost thing with a lot of people.
You know, and when you're just hungry,
you know when you're hungry.
I know that feeling.
And I have lost it for a long time, and I've gained it,
and I don't know, and I'm going through life,
and you get older and blah, blah, blah.
But I remember that feeling of being so hungry
that you would kill.
You know what I mean?
And I know we had a little bit of a discussion
before this interview, but, you know,
that feeling like you just need to kill,
you know, even if you're opening up for bands.
or whatever you're doing,
you know,
you just got to kill motherfuckers, you know?
Yeah.
It's definitely a feeling that,
that just,
especially when you're younger,
it says,
damn,
like,
I'm very,
I've had a very similar feeling experience as you.
Like,
you just,
you just want to fucking,
literally,
like,
I mean,
kill people.
Yeah.
I know,
I know what you're saying.
It's like,
it's not,
it's a healthy competition,
but like,
any band that was in your area,
they're like,
fuck them.
Like,
fuck them.
I were going to,
but it's,
but what the,
The special thing about that is, is the music.
It's like it's, there might be some ego in there, maybe.
But I can't, I've been trying to think back, like, what is that where like, you, like, you want to kill, but it's not ego base.
It's like, you have the songs to back it up.
Yeah.
I know.
It's definitely, I mean, it might be a little bit of ego.
I mean, it is, but it's like you said, a healthy competition.
Yeah.
also, I mean, you have to, man.
Like, you want even the bands that you even play with to be on fire.
Because then it makes you go, fuck.
Yeah.
Because, look, I, like, Cold Chamber was headlining, and we had Slipknot opening.
Oh, Jesus.
Talk about fucking someone putting a knife up your asshole.
And I'm like, holy, you know what I mean?
Like, I'm like, fuck, dude.
Like, I couldn't, like, I saw that shit out.
And I looked at it, like, I looked at it like, I looked.
these guys like, you know, like a little circus,
you know, just, ah, yelling.
And I'm like, what the fuck's going on?
And I'm like, I'm going to watch the opening man.
So, Slipknot comes up and,
wow.
And, you know, looking like they are, like, back then,
all really scraggly with fucking all these torn shit and mask and all that.
Yeah.
Dude, they fucking, like, blew my shit.
And I go, I go, I saw a few songs.
I went to my bus.
Yeah.
And I yell that the whole band, I go,
if we don't do anything tonight, we're dead.
Because these mothers.
The motherfuckers are out to kill us.
No shit.
They're like, what do you mean?
What do you mean?
And then, you know, okay, get out of the fucking bus and go see this shit.
And they went there and they were like, they came out of like white.
Wow.
Yeah, and I was like, fuck, dude, we gotta do something.
We did.
We kind of amped up our game.
But that's what I'm talking about.
Like being, you know, having a little more oomf in your fire, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's kind of one of those things that we need to see.
Like, oh, shit, like the opening band's fucking killing it.
We better fucking do something, dude.
Oh, dude, that was not good.
Yeah.
Like, for me, I mean, for a day, it was good because we kind of, you know, amped it up.
But it was bad at the day because it was like these guys were on fire, man.
Yeah.
Slip knot back then was on fire.
And I have to, I always give them the proff.
I go, dude, you guys were killing it.
Wow.
Yeah.
But that's probably something that that you took with you at that tour.
Okay, now it's like we're fucking on fire.
Yeah, of course.
Of course, because of that.
And there's a bunch of other bands too.
But we took that with other stuff that we did.
And yeah, because I think, like, I'll be honest,
I think we were kind of laying low on like the energy when they opened up.
We didn't know.
We were just kind of, oh, we're kind of getting big.
Yeah.
And we were kind of just like going to stuff.
We're like,
we're cool guys, you know, whatever.
And then we saw that and we're like, yeah,
fuck that.
Let's go back to being like, you know,
fucking state terrorist here.
Yeah.
Let's kill shit.
Dude, that's, yeah.
That's, I like, I like that term.
That's a fucking sick term, dude.
You know, I just find us out today.
You worked with Nathan Cox.
Yeah.
For that first video.
Yeah.
Nathan is my boy.
Great guy, man.
Dude.
Oh, you know him?
Yeah.
He did the video for you only live once.
Oh, no shit.
That's Nathan.
Because that's my fucking jam.
That is my favorite video and song from you guys.
Oh, hell yeah.
Yeah.
That's Nathan.
That's Nathan.
Oh, no shit.
He took a fuck.
I mean, as you experienced, like, he'll take a fucking idea and a vision and he'll
like make it a reality.
Yeah.
He'll put it on the screen.
You're like, what the fuck?
Which is, okay, now that you say Nathan, because it does seem like a Nathan work of
your video because it's so
like visual. He's very visual.
Very visual. And like with
our video for Loco,
he was like, I have an idea
so it's going to be a house.
It's going to be you guys doing like your own little thing in your
rooms. There's going to be a guy
going throughout the video and just like a little
spooky guy and I'm like, oh, okay, that sounds cool.
And then like, you know, I'm like, okay.
Okay. All right. Sounds cool.
And then when I saw the outcome of the video, I'm like,
Oh, this is sick.
And then I'm pretty sure.
It's a great video.
Yeah, thanks, man.
Well, it was, you know, it was like back in the day.
It was like, we're young and we're all doing like a little stupid shit.
And, you know, I looked like 12 and, you know, I'm just like, you know, we're going off in that video.
I know.
You guys are fucking on fire.
Yeah, yeah.
So sick.
Yeah, yeah.
So, yeah.
So we were on fire.
We're just going off.
But with you guys, too, with that, you know, you only live once.
It's like, I saw it.
And I'm like, God, damn, that video was sick.
All that blood and.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool, man.
You can't go wrong with blood.
You can't.
You cannot go wrong with blood.
One of my favorite things to see as a guitar player to be more specific, like a rhythm guy,
is to see another guitar player this go ape shit.
That is like, that's what gets me going.
Like when I see like you or a core chamber, I'm like, oh, yes.
Yes.
They're fucking feeling it.
It does something to you.
even maybe
like if you don't necessarily like the music
do you find like if you see like the band rock
especially the guitar player rock and you're like okay
dude I agree because I
can't think of a specific
band but I know that I've seen
like you said the rhythm play or something like
just in the music you're like okay
it's okay it's okay I don't it's not my thing
but it's okay and then you see
one of the members is going shit
shit crazy
yeah and you're like you know
I love that I actually makes me love the band
it does
yeah it makes it go oh the band's cool
fuck yeah yeah yeah
would you
try I don't mean to like
box you in but do you consider yourself
a rhythm player
yeah yeah yeah I think I'm more
obviously I'm not known to play solos
I mean can I play like
some lead yeah I mean yeah
kind of I mean
I'm more of a
yeah more a melody
I'm not like a shredder
yeah
I am definitely
Definitely, like melody guy, like, you know, more noty.
I mean, not naughty, simpler, bendy.
Yeah.
Riverby effect-wise, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, but definitely more rhythm.
Yeah, same.
Yeah.
I was just thinking about this, you know, it goes back to, you know, our age when we're like, we could,
you could, you could look back and kind of connect dots of why you are who you are and, like,
why things are.
And I was thinking about being a kid,
just starting a band, even pre-starting a band,
and going to Guitar Center,
and I'll always, and see a massive picture of you.
You know?
Very guitar.
Yeah, it was sick.
That was a lot of me.
That was a big.
It was massive.
It was so big.
It was massive.
And that was my local guitar center.
That's still here that I still go to.
and that is one of those moments that it was very
subconscious that seeing that picture of you
really influenced me and seeing like another rhythm player
yeah a very subconscious even deeper levels than inspiring
I think it's like you see like whoa he did it yeah and he
he's a rhythm player I'm a rhythm player too a deep
subconsciousing that you don't think about at that moment but really
has stuck with me yeah I mean
essentially my whole life.
When you see,
when you see, like,
another rhythm player do it,
you're like, wow.
Yeah.
That's what's up, man.
So fucking crazy.
That's cool, man.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a trip.
Yeah, that time was,
that was the,
yeah,
that poster was,
yeah,
I mean,
I was like so,
like.
What was that like, man?
Dude,
um,
uh,
it was crazy because,
uh,
everyone was like,
dude,
you're in this guitar,
I was like,
oh,
no shit.
I was like, wow, that's cool.
I knew that they were going to be putting stuff in guitar channels,
and that alone was crazy.
And then I get, like, people messaging me, like, dude,
you're in, like, you're in fucking whatever,
like New York, you're in Colorado, you're in Idaho,
and I'm like, what?
So I called the company, I go, dude, where's going?
And he goes, oh, no, you're in every guitar center in the United States.
Like every single guitar center.
Not one is missing your fucking poster,
or your billboard.
I was like, whoa, that's when I felt so like, whoa, that is crazy.
So I was like, call my mom and my dad, I go, oh, guess what?
You know, in Spanish.
You know, I'm like, I'm like, I'm going to, and they were like, what?
And so they literally went, because they don't go to the guitar center.
So they went to the guitar center around their town, Redondo Beach, and oh, shit.
They took pictures of it.
That was fun.
It made me feel like, God, I'm just like, I feel like I'm in the right place.
I feel like I did something.
It feels really, you know, when you're like, you know, you strive all your life to accomplish something.
And then you get gratification of like a company or whatever, believing in you so much that they put all that money into putting all these things up, you know?
Yeah.
So I was very, it felt good for me.
As a player, like you said, a rhythm player, as an artist, as an entertainer, it makes you feel like, God, you know, I'm like, fuck, this feels good, you know.
And, you know, so it was a good experience for me, that whole era.
You earned it, man.
Thank you.
You earned it.
And without, you know, now we could kind of look back at that moment, especially you.
And, you know, I'll say without maybe not it being planned, which is the best way, it was very organically, you were waving the flag for.
rhythm guitar players.
Thanks, man.
Without even
probably knowing.
I did not know.
I didn't know know.
But thank you for saying that.
That's cool, man.
Thank you.
I still look back seeing it so many times,
like, damn, that's fucking sick.
Yeah.
So sick.
I wish I could have that
like that thing
and put it in my mom's house.
Here, mom.
Here you go.
Yeah.
Dude, that's a special time, man.
That must have,
how did you personally
handle stuff like that and the continued success?
Repeat that?
How did you handle like your success when all that stuff started to happen?
Well, I had a, okay, so I'll be honest with you, there was a time where I didn't handle
it right.
I mean, in terms of like, I did the fame and, or a little bit of money or this and that
or blah, blah, blah, every other things that come with it.
I started dealt
I did get deeper into like drugs and stuff
and it's something I don't do anymore
but it was something that I did do
and it just started getting
it hit me in a way
where like I was just like oh man
I just invincible or whatever the fuck I'm thinking
and I was doing a lot of crazy party
but also at the same time
it made me feel like you know like I said
like made me feel like really
legitimately inspired to be doing what I'm doing.
So I had two work.
I was going through two.
One was like kind of like a little dark and one was like a little,
dude, I'm doing well in life.
And so I was kind of like teetering with both sides of the coin.
And yeah.
Yeah.
Exhausting.
That shit was exhausting.
Yeah.
It's a confusing time.
Yeah.
You know, it just sucks when we, you just have this like.
Yeah.
Like your dream and then
This whole other thing you didn't expect to come in
It comes in and you don't know how to deal with it
It's fucking crazy
But it is what it is
What can you do?
Same you I mean I fell on my base
You know
It's how we learn
It was like
Yeah
Because I mean deep down in part
In our hearts
We're just like
We just look back at the
Oh man I'm still that
Lusory K from high school
And like now
It's just
I just wanted to have started a band
And now holy shit
Now we're on Montere Pantaro.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, how do you, how do you deal with that?
You know, you just deal with it when it, you have to deal with it when the time comes.
And it's kind of a kind of someone throwing a snowball at your face.
And you're like, well, what?
And you're like, go ahead.
And you're like, go ahead.
And you're like, go ahead.
And you're like, fuck.
And you're like, you don't know what go ahead means because, you know, you don't have the tools as an adult or like a young adult to like go.
I know how to deal with this.
And you don't.
You don't.
Yeah.
Some people do deal with it right and some people, you know, move forward with life unscathed by, like, things like what we were talking about.
And some people like us, maybe we just fall on our face.
But that's okay.
You know, you just get up and just fucking trudge along and just move along.
Move.
Yeah.
Move along.
Yeah.
What was your favorite tour you did?
Pantera.
Man, you went on tour.
I was with Pantera.
And my birthday is the same birthday.
not the same year,
but the same
month and day
as Dimebag.
So when I was on tour,
of course,
our same birthdays
and it was Mayhem.
So imagine
like we were just
all the shit we're talking about
with Dimeback
on the side
going, dude, right now.
I'm like, okay,
let's do it.
Wow.
Yeah.
You don't only saw them
but you hung out with them
and went on tour with them.
Hung out,
same birthdays
on their bus,
three tours
three
three full blown tours
fucking mayhem
arenas and like
just crazy shit
and then they're like fucking
drunk
awesome
belligerent
fucking crazy people
and I'm here like going like
just like you know
like we were talking about
I was like dude I was just like
fucking going crazy I was on a fanboy
but like at the same time when I played
I played
you know
But after, I was like, hey, you know, like, I just wanted to hang out.
Wow.
You know, it was a crazy time.
That's crazy, man.
Pantera, Psalm.
Yeah.
And also, like, you, it's crazy that you experience something that, like, no one else can experience ever.
Yeah.
Because, of course.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Like, how you could look back at those experiences.
Well, I have a real quick story, because when I was a teenager,
in the early
I believe
late 80s, early 90s
something early 90s
Pantara was opening up for Skid Row
at Erland Meadows
Yeah
This was a real thing
Yeah
They you know
And Skid Row was huge
And Pantera
And they were doing a signing
At Tower Records or somewhere
And I was a fucking teenager
And I have a picture
You know
Back then
And I was shaking
And someone
One of my friends
Go dude
I'll take a picture.
And then it was Dimebag and Vinny signing my seat.
And they're like, whatever they're doing.
They're like doing this or whatever.
Yeah.
And I'm like like this.
And now I'm like I have the picture with my parents.
But I saw that picture to Vinny and Dinebag.
I go, took it out, dude.
When I was touring with him.
Wow.
And they were like, oh shit.
That's cool.
You know.
They get a million of those obviously.
But I was like, no, no.
I'm a true fan.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just want you like me.
this is my badge
exactly
what a trip man
yeah
like when
one moment you're a fan
the next
you're in it
yeah
it's crazy
it's a crazy life
and like I said
you know it's a road that you know
no one could ever experience but
we did fun
yeah
yeah a lot of
a lot of fun times
yeah you know
well we're
during during that
that time, what was your biggest regret?
Something that it, with the life,
with the life experiences and knowledge we have now
that you look back, like, man,
I wish I fucking did that differently.
Dude, honestly, I don't ever try.
I try not to look back and relive
and, like, kind of have regrets.
I try not to.
So there's nothing in mind right now that I could think of.
Maybe not fight with death so much.
I think that's one of my regrets
Maybe I should have just
Whether it's him or I
Like just
Just kind of walk away
You know like from fighting each other
Like being such assholes to each other
So I think that's one of
The only regrets I go
Why couldn't I just just walked away
From like
Go to my corner or something
Yeah
Yeah
Because you and Des
I mean go so far back
And have such
Which part now
You can both go back
And like such a deep connection
You know like
part of which you had like the communication skills.
Yeah, of course.
You know, back then and be like,
you guys have so much history together.
Yeah, a lot of history.
Yeah, a lot of history.
And you would think two friends would have been able to talk things out.
But, you know, like I said, we went into separate roads.
And it is what it is.
But what can you do?
Obviously, I don't know the extent.
that but relating it to my my experiences you know because you guys when you're in a band together
it just adds so much more to an already complicated friendship a brother you know and i would like
to think that no matter what like he would have your back and and probably vice yeah i think in the
long yeah i i really feel that i feel like you know look we've gone through a lot of shit and
a lot of bullshit and a lot of hatred
and a lot of love as well
and I think at the end of the day
I would love, I would think that
yeah, we both have
we don't maybe state that
the last time I saw him
it was all good we said, hey man I'm sorry
he said I'm sorry I said I'm sorry
we love you blah blah
all good and I think at the end of the day
I think I think we
would have each other's back I would think
I think so I don't know
maybe that's me being naive
but I think so.
I think so.
I think it goes back to that kind of primal drive.
You guys have so much...
It only happens once you're alive, dude.
You only have one singer, one brother,
one person that you tour the country and with
and the ups and downs and all that.
And you can only look back and like, it was that person.
Yeah, exactly.
You know?
And I was like, fuck.
dude, I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a, it's a crazy life. It's like a, a dream country come to life and, uh, and, um, you know, uh, looking back, it's like, it's like a dream.
Yeah. That, that was a reality. So, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. Knowing, you know, I don't know him that well, but, you know, I have met him. He's a, he, he, he, he's, he, he's a great guy. I've been lucky enough to be hanging around both you guys. You guys are both very nice to me.
Yeah, he's a cool dude
Yeah
I'm like
Holy shit it's meeks
No
Right
And then I'm around him
I'm on my holy shit is does
It's like man
Yeah you know
It's like
I was saying earlier
I am at heart
I am a fanboy
Whatever
That's me
No dude I love it
I love it
I'm so happy you invited me
I mean I really am
Like when you
Like I got my
The DM from you
On Instagram
And I'm like
Oh fuck it's Chris
I never hear from this guy
And like
I'm like
I feel like I
I follow you, you know, and all that.
And I'm like, oh, shit.
You go, hey, can you do the podcast?
I'm like, yeah, actually I can.
I'm actually on my way to this guy's house, my mirror here.
And I'm like, yeah.
And my dad's birthday is next tomorrow.
Happy birthday.
And I was like, yeah, you're in Corona.
Oh, shit.
That's on the way, literally.
Yeah, it's on the way, huh?
Yeah.
It kind of is on the way, right?
It's right by Riverside, right?
Yeah.
I don't boy.
Yeah.
It's great.
Yeah, great.
The way I was just telling,
telling Cece how,
this is how it should go down.
Obviously,
there's Asian involved,
so like we could call each other
and it's not,
it's not a big deal at all.
No.
It's just like,
oh yeah, call up, text,
all right, what's up?
Cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was like, that's how it should be,
but you can't expect that from
no, no, no,
younger people, right?
Oh, you know,
it's crazy.
I don't know what it is,
but I'm sure they're like, it's just neurotic or something.
Yeah, you text, I mean,
DM me, I was, um, can we take it?
Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, sure, go.
It's all good, man.
Hop in there, dude.
Sorry, sorry, everyone, we're having a, uh,
you're getting coffee?
Yeah, oh, wait, this is, yeah, this is a coffee break.
Because this is, like, in the morning, right?
So, we need coffee,
break here.
It's 6.30
a.m. right now.
6.30.
I just woke up.
Cheers, brother.
Thank you for being here again.
Thank you for having me.
For real.
I really appreciate this.
And yeah, the DM was quick.
I go, oh, cool, I'll do it.
And you're like, cool.
And I'm like, where's the address?
Here, cool.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
That's it.
It should be that easy.
No.
And I was going to bring it up
and bring it's up to you, that is,
that's your natural hustle.
I gotta do some, cool.
Yeah.
You'll be surprised for me people don't have that.
It might,
what I've been learning in the past few months,
like some people won't just do some.
They like just doing nothing.
I'm like, damn, dude.
And you just naturally have that,
this.
Yeah.
I do something cool.
Right on.
Yeah, cool.
I'm like, look, obviously,
it did help that I was on the way.
It did.
It did help a lot, obviously.
But when you said,
I was like, yeah, I'll do it.
I'm like, sure.
Yeah.
Like, yeah, and, you know, some people are just afraid or something,
and they just want to just stay at home.
And, you know, after this pandemic,
I just kind of wanted to do something.
I mean, like, I haven't played.
And, you know, I kind of want to, you know,
and just want to do something.
The interview or, like, fucking go out on tour, obviously.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I'm matching to fucking start doing shit.
Yeah, it's great.
Yeah.
I was looking at what you guys have been doing.
There's the past.
four months, you put out three videos.
Yeah.
Dude.
I think that's a great idea.
Yeah, our idea could the rules have changed.
We have a record done.
It's done.
We do have three singles that we're trying to put out with a video from Brian Cox,
who does, like, Bring Me the Horizon, the Used.
He's done all these videos.
He's doing his shit.
he's the Mikey Cox
my drummer for Cold Chambers
Little Brother
Oh sick
Yeah
He's a big
Yeah he's a big time
video director
And he
Uh
Been friend of mine
Obviously
Because he's like my bro
My brother
And so we
Had ideas to
Let's release singles
With a video
And obviously
That's all we have now
And
we're gonna be touring soon
And
you know
The record
I'm sure
will be released sometime later in the year.
But yeah, right now, that's the strategy.
And that's, we're really happy with it.
The numbers are pretty good.
I mean, they're really good.
I think they're really good.
Yeah.
And for, yeah, I mean, you know,
and things are just kind of snowballing.
So, yeah.
So we're really happy and excited.
I mean, Gemini syndrome right now is like something I'm really in love with.
I've known these guys.
These are my pros.
I joined the band and we wrote this record.
And it's like, we're really,
really, I mean,
these guys had been my friends
since after I,
after Colterner kind of broke up
in the,
you know,
early 2000s.
I've been,
I started a band with a drummer.
Oh, wow.
Gemini, another band.
No one's ever heard.
But we remained friends
and he went out to do
Gemini syndrome.
I did a bunch of other projects
and stuff.
And then we came back.
He goes, dude,
I would, please join the band.
Yeah?
And I said, cool.
I joined, we wrote this music, and it was killer,
and we recorded it in Arizona, and it's out.
I mean, not out.
The singles are out.
Yeah.
So we'll see what the feature holds.
That's great.
Yeah.
So I was going to ask you, you know, what have you been doing?
What have you been doing during the Pandi, but you guys been...
During the what?
The Pandi?
The Apandi.
But you guys been fucking busy.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, we recorded this record before the pandemic, the, what'd you call it?
A Pandy. A Pandy? Yeah.
I don't keep calling that. Pandy. We have a friend, me and I'm here, named Panda.
Panda. So when you said Pandy, I was like, oh, that's cute. That sounds like my friend, Panda.
So we recorded this record finalized and in the pandemic hit, the Pandy hit. And I've been sitting on my asshole.
for like
fucking a year
fucking calling this guy
every day
and talking shit
because that's how
I could do
because I'm sitting at home
and then like
you know
yeah but things are now rolling
now it's been what
a year
13 months
yeah
and it's been kind of like
kind of slowly
things are happening
so yeah
yeah
great
yeah I gained a little bit
of a
oh dude it's been
fucking
rough
I don't like
a lot
I used to be
I used to be
cuter.
I used to be thinner.
Yeah, I think we all say that.
A lot of pizza, a lot of beer.
Burritos and beers and like,
it's crazy.
But if you had the right beer and pizza
combination, then the pizza will go to your muscles.
What? For real?
Yeah. Is that a thing?
But you have to have a lot of pizza, though.
Because if you don't have enough pizza, then it goes to fat.
If you have a lot of pizza, it goes to your muscles
because it activates your fat.
burning hormones.
You know what?
I love that rationale.
My friend would be
looking like Chris Hensworth
right now.
That way, he's lying.
It's not working for me.
That piece of,
you were lying to me.
You're fucking lying to me, dude.
Well,
well, personally, I think,
I think the videos were sick.
Thank you.
And I think that's just,
I think that's just a way to go.
Put out singles.
I think so, dude.
I feel accomplished like that.
I feel like it's,
Yeah, I think so, man.
And plus it makes you do shit.
It makes you go to a set to do a video.
Yeah.
We're trying to assimilate into the new normal, the new world, the new, the new, the new, whatever's out there now, awaiting us.
Yeah.
We're trying to just kind of just blend in now.
So we'll see what happens.
I mean, you know, things have changed and that's okay.
I mean, that's life.
and what can you do?
Yeah, we just got to, you know, evolve and go with the punches.
Go with the punches, go with the flow.
Yeah, you have to.
You have to evolve.
Either you sink or you swim.
Absolutely.
That's, I love that.
Sink or swim, man.
Zinc or swim.
Are we going to sit on this record, or we have put down singles now?
Start putting on singles.
No.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
I love, I fucking love that.
So do you guys have dates?
Yeah, we're playing, oh, God.
I mean, people are going to kill me if I don't say things correctly.
I know we're
We are playing a few festivals
Right now the touring cycle
Sorry
For the touring cycles are not
We're waiting for a certain amount of single
A certain amount of things to happen
For us to tour tour
Which will be probably next year
But we are touring
Great
We're doing
We're doing a few festivals
I can't remember the fucking names right now
Rock Fest
Great
That's in Wisconsin right
Yes
and then
God, they're going to kill me.
Oshkosh.
No.
But what's the other?
There's another.
Meeks Fest.
You know that one?
You never heard of that?
No.
No one's heard of it.
Dude, now there's so many festivals.
Yeah.
Dude, the number of radio festivals
that have been popping out
the past few years have been crazy.
It's like they're taking the things that work
in the European territory.
Yeah.
Bring in a boom here, a whole country.
Yeah.
So basically, yeah, that
I've incarcerated,
what are they?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, no, we're not playing that.
I'm saying these shows are popping up
and you're like,
uh,
um,
fuck,
please remind me to remember that the next festival date
because I'm gonna,
everyone's gonna go,
dude,
that's,
how many shows do you have?
You should know these two,
we have that rock fest and this other one.
Great.
And then we're going to revolve a lot of touring and around it.
Great.
Yeah.
Are you feeling more, do you find yourself feeling more optimistic, combined with realistic about like, I think shows and Torn is going to come back fairly soon.
Yeah, I think so too.
How do you feel about that?
No, I agree with you.
I think things are just moving along faster.
Not faster.
They're, okay.
Like with the current climate of how things are happening with things, I think, I think, I'm.
seeing things not being canceled.
Yeah.
I haven't not been
given a notice, an email.
It's like, oh, by the way,
this has been postponed for next year.
So things are happening.
I see bands doing tours.
No one's canceling.
So far.
Great.
I feel optimistic.
I feel really happy.
And I feel really like,
the feature is bright.
Things have changed.
And I have to really look at that
face forward like all these uh things happening all the things that have been shifted but i think the tours
i have are commencing as for as as as planned so we're happy about that great yeah yeah i'm on i'm on
a same boat are you are you you guys are doing your shit too right this year yeah i think there's a
show it's in september and there is a tour with ginger in october i saw that december you guys are
playing i saw a Vegas yeah Vegas come on come out to Vegas dude
I'm saying that list better be open, bro.
You are personally invited.
Okay, right.
I am 100% going.
That's great.
And it's on Halloween.
I know, October 31st.
I saw that.
Dangerous, dude.
I just had a bunch of close friends of mine from, I don't know if you're aware, but, uh, but Fender guitars is down the street.
From Vegas?
No, here.
I mean, here.
Fender?
Oh, no shit.
The, uh, the custom shop and the USA models come from right here.
No shit.
And so a bunch of, like, my, my second family, they all bought tickets.
coming out to Vegas.
And it's going to be a big family hangout.
It's going to be awesome, man.
And, yeah, it would be cool we came out.
Yeah, I'm going to bring, like, 40 people.
Perfect.
Yeah, is your list big enough?
Yeah, that's fine.
Cool.
Imagine.
Go ahead.
Imagine.
Go ahead.
Fuck it, dude.
I'm in, yeah, I'm on a sample.
I was like, I've been very realistic for a long time.
My guy, I'm on touring until at least summer 2012.
I was like, accepting it.
all right, what we got to do?
Are we going to, what are you doing?
But my, uh, definitely changing my tune about that, you know, seeing, seeing and hearing dates
come up months before I expected, you know, like, let's say vaccines, you know, I, I had
my first vaccine.
I get my second one in a few days.
No.
And this is a time I expect to have until, like, fall.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was like, millions of people, that's going to take a long time.
But like, I, they were.
They were quick, so I'm like, all right, this is going to...
Yeah, I think this is why things haven't been canceled,
which, thank God.
So, yeah, I mean, I just want things to go back to, like,
just touring and, you know, going out there,
me and my boys on tour.
Yeah.
Whatever it takes, let's just make this shit happen, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think it is.
Yeah.
You know, and some states are different than others as far as, like,
some states are allowing to fall on shows right now.
Yeah.
I think the one you're talking about Rockfest, which is in Wisconsin, that's in June?
June?
July.
Oh, thank you.
July.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I'm like, I don't know.
That's awesome.
Thank you.
Yes, July.
Yeah, I mean, that's, I see that happening.
Yeah, I think that that sounds reasonable.
I think that should, this should happen, right?
Yeah.
Please.
I've wanted to.
happen.
I think it's going to happen.
Only in places you got to really be
concerned about are the
what you would think, the
LA's and the New York's.
Yeah.
You know, I think those might...
But no, we'll see what happens.
Yeah, we'll see what happens.
Yeah, those are the tough ones, but yeah.
I think it'll be
I'm being optimistic.
I think I want to be
I want to look at the
the light at the end of the tunnel
kind of thing, so I want it to happen.
So I'm going to keep my head on that
fucking game plan on that, on that, on that, you know, totally.
Yeah.
Well, I think, yeah, it's, uh, it's looking fucking good, man.
Looking good, bro.
Let's tour together.
Let's do it, man.
You know, you know what, man.
That is such a different now.
Imagine, you guys' music and our music, I don't, it's like, even though they're, you know,
you guys are really heavy and awesome, and we're like, not so heavy, but awesome, too,
but, you know, it's kind of like.
I don't know. Would it fit, you think?
I don't know, man.
That's going to be tough.
Yeah.
That's a tough one.
Something I think that we both learned age, man.
One of the I realized, for a long time ago, man, I don't know shit.
I don't know shit either.
You know what?
I have seen mismatches of touring.
And I go, oh, it fits.
It's cool.
And something I go, man, that doesn't fit.
Like, some bands are just not man for each other.
Yeah.
Like on tour?
Yeah.
But like I said,
hey,
maybe we should tour together.
It might work.
You never know.
You never know.
I mean,
a scenario where it does work,
I mean,
the festivals have proved
that it does work.
It does work.
If you have like a,
like,
10 bands on the bill,
like they're all like different.
It's like,
it works.
Yeah.
It works, you know?
Yeah,
I think metal people are just like very into,
you know,
especially now
when fast festivals come back
and shows come back,
I think they're just going to go,
fuck.
I don't give a fuck if you some,
I don't give a fuck if you sound like
the,
The Backstreet Boys
And you sound like this band
Like let's get the shit
Let's get it rolling
Dude
If someone gave me a ticket
To get a backstreet boy show
I would be pretty pumped
Dude
Like a show
Let's fucking go
Dude
That's gonna be fucking heavy
Dude
If I was at the
Fucking Backstreet boys
I would be in the moss pit
At this point
They would be a pit
It's gonna be a pit
Someone's getting hurt
It's like why is there a bunch
Of metal people
At a Bastry Boys show
This is fuck
Yeah
You see
Chris is fucking hurting little girls
like fucking little teenage.
Ah, you're down.
You're fucking down.
Women in the 30s now, right?
Their mospitting?
Well, that's the demographic
for Backstreet Boys, right? The fan base
is women in their 30s now,
mid-30s? I didn't realize you had a
microphone. Why didn't you interject?
You should say, like, you guys suck.
You should just heckle us.
You guys are doing fine.
I said, well, the panties is definitely
changing things for the
which I think I even though obviously you know
gonna put it out there obviously there are people and businesses that
did suffer during during this whole time however there is there is light and I
think I think we're actually well might even be better when stuff actually comes
back as far as touring people maybe in bands being grateful for what yeah yeah
yeah well you go to show now I could go to my favorite pizza spot now and with my friends
and I think shows will be back in a big way.
And also, I think it of, which you guys already did,
you know, not even doing it, you already did it,
is bands thinking about things in like a different way.
Yeah.
You know, maybe being a little bit more open-minded.
I'm really curious how,
and hoping that really carries over to when,
when Torn does come back and maybe like,
you could say normal when the ducks come back,
you know, they'll be like a mix of both.
You know, bands be doing more, you know,
innovative stuff.
Yeah.
You know, I love seeing bands doing weird shit.
I'm like, oh, you, oh, there's a new way to do.
Yeah.
I think there's going to be a lot of innovation, like you said, because of what's happening.
And, yeah, it's exciting, man.
We'll see what happens.
You know what I'm going to bring back to what you guys were doing, your guys' tour, virtual tour.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was dope.
Yeah, she was insane.
Yeah, it was fun.
Yeah.
Speaking of regrets, I wish I, I, I wish you did like five shows.
Wait, how was the whole tour?
Like, 30 shows or something?
It was like 38 and like 28 days or something stupid.
Holy fuck.
Well, like, yeah, well, I mean, yeah, it's not live, so, I mean, obviously.
No, I don't know what you're saying.
You know, like, the brain will come in logically.
You know what you could do two shows a day.
And since it's not live, you could recover.
Yeah.
But the brain didn't realize you're not.
fucking 19 more brother you can't you can't do the things that you think you can do you can do and do it
it was rough it was it was fun but the double show a day thing really holy shit yeah and a lot a lot goes
into which i have a new found respect for you know doing things like this and i have a new found
respect for like the digital world there's so much it goes into it and like oh you know a lot of work
Yeah.
And we got to do it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I really respect this.
This is a fucking cool setup.
And yeah, dude, props to you because there's been a lot of other friends that do a podcast and live streams, whatever, digital shit.
And it's fucking awesome.
In turn, the band, Jevina Syndrome is going to be doing something soon.
Great.
It'll be, it'll be, we'll be, we'll announce it soon.
Great.
Yeah.
Um, I don't want to make you announce something that you probably should announce.
Yeah, that's why I, okay.
I know, I don't know.
Like, I started saying, I were doing, uh, no, I don't, I don't, we're doing something.
Okay.
And I just want to leave it vague like that because, uh, yeah, there's nothing there is, but, uh, yeah.
Yeah.
As much, it will give me a pleasure to, for, to get you in trouble in, and in your band.
I love it when it's not me or my band.
It's like, yes.
Suffer, you motherfucker.
Yeah, exactly.
Oh, my God.
But, you know, they're, you know,
out of all the life experiences and the ups and downs,
you know, there are brothers.
Yeah.
You know.
But, we only have one band.
We only have one band, man.
You know, hopefully.
One life, too.
One life.
Unless there's an afterlife and I'll be partying there, too.
I'll probably be drinking there, too.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Hopefully.
Well,
well,
here's a drinking
to the afterlife
means.
Do you have any
I don't want
to take too much
of your time?
You have anything
that you want?
Just,
yeah,
I just want to add
that thank you,
Chris.
You know what?
This is the first time
that we've actually
have an obviously
long conversation.
I appreciate the forum
that and thank you for having me

And then same with the band.
And I live, you know, I could be found on, I don't know the handles.
It's Miggs-Frescone something or whatever.
Cool.
I'm really bad at advertising my own fucking shit.
But I'm on there somewhere.
You'll see my face.
I saw it.
You saw my face?
I saw it.
I'm like, I'm going to feed him.
Yeah.
There's a.

Perfect.
You go.
Yeah.
Well, again, Miggs, thank you.
Thank you.
And anytime you guys want to come back, more than welcome.
I'm going to have the whole band right here and just break all your shit.
Let's do it, man.
I love it.

Until next time, later.
Thank you.
