We live, alive, alive, alive and breathing.
Alive and breathing, dude.
I forgot how to do this, to be honest.
But we're just going to go.
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening,
whenever you choose to watch this podcast.
I had someone come up to me saying,
Hey, dude, I listen to your podcast when I go to bed.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
It's like he was telling me that it was boring.
But no, I do the same thing I put on a podcast.
and I just pass out.
But that's a terrible, terrible habit.
Having our phones and when we're trying to sleep is not optimal.
But yeah, glad to be back.
Got my coffee here.
I realized I learned past couple weeks.
First of all, it's been a while.
We've had a lot of guest opportunities.
So, yeah, I haven't done a solo in quite some time.
You know, bands were in town or just, it's kept going.
We were kind of in like this kind of flow.
So it just kept that, kept that going.
And so, yeah, learned how much coffee I drink.
I don't know if this is good or bad.
I don't even think there's any accurate studies on it,
but I got a five bag of coffee.
It's five pounds.
And that lasted five weeks.
because shout out to concept cafes.
I love that coffee.
Go pick it up.
They'll send me a bag or two, but that shit's gone in like a week.
So finally, hey, send me this, send me a massive bag of it.
So yeah, they sent me, Concept Cafe sent me a five-pound bag of the Garza podcast coffee.
I was like, oh, this is going to last me a long time.
Nope, it's been gone.
It's like five pounds of coffee in five weeks.
I don't think I drink a lot of coffee.
It's, I did the map today.
So it's three cups total, but a cup is eight ounces.
So you're, what's the sizes, what grande or something crazy, venti?
That's not a cup of coffee.
That's two or three cups.
I'm talking eight ounce.
servings.
We're going to get really geeky here, but
serving and coffee is like
looking at 20 grams of
coffee bean with eight ounces
of water. Eight ounces is a cup.
So in the morning, I have 12 ounces. So that's
technically a cup and a half.
And then I'll do an other cup and a half
when I show up around here.
So already we're at
24.
ounces
uh
what's eight times 24
no what's uh
28 divided by 24 that's 8 divided by 24 that's 8 16
so that's three so that's three cups
and then I'll have one more
I say you know we all we all need that
that afternoon kick
I need it for sure and that's a
another cup and a half so we're looking at
uh, four. So mathematically, five and a half cups. That's me. And, uh, I'm not sure if that's
healthier. And I, I, I saw something that, uh, let's figure it is that what's like an,
how, how would you word that? Like, how much coffee is too much? How much? How much? I don't know.
I feel fine
I think
where I'm at
it's like
you can't really
pass that
seems like
you're right at the limit
400 milligrams
of caffeine per day
a little bit over
for most healthy adults
thanks to
Google AI
okay
so that's not too bad
I feel fine
but I realize
how much coffee I dream
man that doesn't feel like a lot
but that shit just
just fucking flies by
So five cups.
So thank you concept cafes for supplying my coffee.
But that shit just disappears.
Disappeared.
And when there's like a way to where does all the coffee come from, you know?
Holy crap.
But a shout out to coffee.
I love it.
Me and the band were joking this this week where, man, there wasn't coffee.
Man, the band would have broke up a long time ago.
It's just, I don't know.
It helps get up in the morning.
It helps with focus.
It helps.
I mean, you could say it helps write riffs.
I mean, if you're chilling, you're riffing, you're focused.
Yeah, it fucking helps.
So whoever invented coffee is a genius or found the coffee bean.
So yeah, we had a joke.
Man, there's no coffee, dude.
I will not be in this band.
But a quick break for my, my, my,
polite sip. Okay, so it's been, it's been a minute. I'm not to make this a thing or anything,
but anyway, thank you for listening to watch it right now. So yeah, it's been, a lot has happened.
I touched on it. Yeah, so July, I fucking literally, I don't know. It's like this. This is a lot
mentally. I kind of checked out. Came back in August, the power of journaling, born.
stuff I know but uh it was it's crazy to think about it's crazy how your mindset
your mindset can change literally just to the next day and uh that's been the the case in my uh in my
entire life so for example um one moment i don't want to do something and think it's i have no
gas in a tank but something then the next day
I just knew I had a little bit.
It's a little, man, we dig deep.
I think we all have it.
I think all of us as humans, we all have it, man.
You just look.
You just dig deep.
You have a little bit, you have a little bit left in the tank.
And I knew that.
I knew that back in July.
And then fast forward to now, my mind now, it's a lot more clear.
Just to think back where I was then to a while.
where we are now.
It's pretty,
it's pretty fucking cool.
And,
uh,
so in August,
so basically there's a end to,
to the story,
which is where I'm getting that just to get this out of the way so we can move on.
But,
uh,
in August,
we had 60,000,
uh,
subscribers on YouTube for a podcast.
It's pretty fucking cool.
Um,
and a couple weeks ago,
we reached a hundred thousand subscriber number,
which,
which pretty sick.
It wasn't really necessarily a goal.
I think when we do things,
things just happened.
You know, and we got the,
so I wanted to share this,
because you are all a part of this.
We got the old,
got the old plaque, dude.
Look at that.
Presented to Garza podcast
for passing 100,000
subscribers and the YouTube logo is right there.
Pretty cool.
I had a joke that I was going to make this like a toilet paper
like hanger or like my bathroom doorstop,
but then once I actually got it in my hand,
it definitely changed my opinion.
It's like a tangible thing,
and it definitely means actually something to me now.
Not giving up.
Not giving up.
matter how dark it is or you don't see the light of ending the tunnel.
So now when I got it on my hand, I was like, oh, all those jokes I had actually,
oh, this is really, this is actually pretty fucking cool.
You know, I definitely wouldn't be here without the support of my lady.
Jay's been here grinding, dude.
Zach Perez.
He does sick music videos.
JC was helping here for a little bit.
Chris the camera guy.
He's been here.
hanging out, helping my, uh, during COVID me, me and my girlfriend driving a little
Corona to furniture places to find deals on furniture. Literally that's, that couch is on sale.
Uh, that store and Corona is now gone. I think it's a, like an auto store now or some. I keep,
I keep a driving by. I'm like, oh, that store is gone now. Just like all the other ones.
Yeah, uh, stores in your hometown tend to this.
disappear. This is something that that we found during COVID. This
found two white couches for, uh, always what would you call it? It's a couch or a sofa or a chair.
Some, I forgot. A chair. A chair. Uh, so this is actually white. And, uh, my lady said, no, you go
buy like, you go buy spray paint, uh, that could spray paint vinyl and it stays there.
And she was right.
I was like, oh, but if you paint some, then you're going to sit on it and then it'll peel off my own clothes.
And nope, had this for over four years.
And sure enough, we got this two of these on sale for under 100 bucks.
And, you know, got the cans, spray paint them in my backyard.
And boom, we still use them.
So, yeah, just, you know, and thank you for all you listening and watching and sharing.
A lot of you've been sharing the podcast.
And it's kind of, I really, I don't know.
I don't know, man.
Just thinking back,
I remember the conversation I was having,
it was at a Starbucks and I was like,
dude, I don't know.
My mind is this, it's everywhere right now.
It's just bouncing off the walls.
And I think, I think we all,
we all go through it, especially when we get older.
We just go through it.
You know, we're either working or there's a lot of,
we all have her own life pressures.
And I was dealing with mine and my,
way and uh so think it back to that that that was me like sometimes you're like look back
that's you that was i really believed that and now to be here it's pretty it's pretty cool man
we uh we got past that uh that that crazy hump you know it was a crazy um it was a crazy time
so anyway yeah um just um in short thank you for uh for staying with you
with us staying with staying with me i'm still learning i think jay's still learning um and so so this is
here for all you to uh enjoy so yeah so that will not be a uh toilet paper holder it's going to go
up in the front so when bands walk in they they boom they can they can slap in the face with it
you know so yeah anyway thank you and uh say what if man we haven't had a check in in a minute
What have I been doing?
We just been here.
Been here trying to, you know,
admittedly I'm struggling,
trying to write,
but I think that's,
I think that's temporary.
I think once I sit down,
but I'm talking about it for a bit.
I think once I sit down,
there's just been other things.
I've been doing,
I got,
I got a Kia.
I'm talking about that.
I got a Kia from CarMax.
That's pretty cool.
I'm so used to,
driving a car and you know that feeling you get when you see like the check engine light come on
you're like oh fuck come on dude and that's been personally that's been my life the past uh
i don't even know how many years so to have a car that's like it's working it's nice and there's a
slight issue so we got we got back from car max on wednesday so it was a it was like an older
like Cadillac converter easy fix
they fix it for free because it's still under warranty
it looks like oh dude it's really cool
100 bucks a month I'm stoked
um
I found out that white cars
are a lot
easier to maintain
as far as uh
they just look nice
you know I've had a black car
looks like shit after a few days
they're hard to
like me wash them
they just get dirty so
so quickly
and um
So it's cool to have that.
And when I got it, I started thinking about the Kia boys.
And hopefully the Kia boys are a thing at the past.
But, yeah, you better stay away from my Kia.
Because I will fuck you up, dude.
I will fuck you up.
Let's see you.
Last week, I took a break from going to shows, a little one,
like a month and a half, maybe even two.
me and Ernie went to Kaanashi
last week at the old
the old chain
chain reaction
They're sick
If you want a cool band to jam
Check out
Karnashi
They've been a guest here
Really sick
Peter their singer
I think he's a
I think he's a special guy
You know when you just hear someone singing
Like oh we're
Like you're
You're saying something
you're saying i'm not sure what it is but uh you're saying some also i kind of took a break
from going to show it's one to clear my mind also i will admit you know i like i like going my
one of my favorite things to do i think we could all agree uh going to shows and just having
some beers just watching music just let your guard down you're not thinking about work or anything
or anything, you're just enjoying music and it's letting it enter your body.
So I've done that in a while, so, yeah, because I am trying to cut back on the old drinking, hints.
I do have coffee here.
But just cutting it back, I do enjoy drinking a little bit.
But it's nice to watch a sick-ass freaking band, have a IPA.
I don't know if I'm, am I outgrown IPA?
A's, I don't know.
I don't know.
This could be age.
It could be age.
I'm not sure, man.
Age, things,
things definitely change with age.
Your, uh,
your opinions,
your tastes,
your,
uh,
I do like triples,
but man,
a Madello is just like,
yo,
yo,
yo.
Amadello is this classic,
dude.
But yeah,
uh,
again,
you know, thank you for, uh,
thank you for tuning in.
I do, we have some, uh,
I was gonna say this really, but I forgot.
Uh, I'm still, uh, trying to figure out how to do this thing.
We have a lot of fan questions.
We got some current events coming.
Uh, I've been messing around with the quad.
Uh, that's kind of also what I've been doing, uh,
boring stuff, but I learned how to,
because I had presets,
but what sucks about presets is,
there's a lag when you switch to preset so live literally there'll be like a a second or two like lag
to jump over to what you're switching over to and one-to-one second doesn't sound like a lot but when it's
going it's like oh it's like it's noticeable and then mark to him and then let me do some research
online well yeah you have to you have to put the quad cortex in scene mode so i finally learned how to do
that uh two weeks ago and
And so yeah, I figured that out.
I kind of got a scene going.
I have my aqua here.
I don't think you could actually see it.
But so I'm figuring out how to do that.
So now when I switch, it's just, it works, but it's just tedious.
Anyone that knows messes with the CMO, it's just tedious work.
But, hey, it worked.
I press a button and boom, it's seamless.
There's no, like, there's no, like,
lag. So I'm looking
forward. Actually, I watched this video.
Actually, he
uh,
you help me out. Tips and tricks.
What's his username? So we,
we shout him out. Gary Wright,
Quad Cortex intro to scenes.
I did watch this. So
I just want to give Gary Wright a shout out.
Wright with a W-R-I-G-H-T.
Do you get YouTube anything?
You get YouTube anything. You're probably
YouTube.
How did it take a shower?
how do you do that but yeah this this worked
so I have my scene but I don't like
I did research I can't find anything on it yet
and um
a friend told me that it's possible
but I haven't found it
is you can't save
you can't save a
pedal settings I have a
like I have this chorus that is like it's just magic
it's a magical chorus
you know like when you hear it
it just makes your heart just
it's open
and I found this really cool setting
I'm trying to save it but it won't
you can't save pedal settings
but hopefully that's a workaround
if you
if you know this problem
please let me know
because I don't know
I don't know what the fuck I'm doing
still learning about this thing
but so tedious you guys kind of
basically you're just copying
I'm copying and pasting
from the pre-status to the scenes
but I wish I could just save the fucking
amp setting and like the
but yeah
it's probably an easy fix
you know
what else what else what I do? Today I finished a book
by Will Stor
he's
expert on storytelling
Will Story out
it's a it's a
it's a yellow book
I'm trying to see if we could
he does have a
multiple
um
books
I just want to give him a shout out
So yeah
The science of storytelling
And I realized
A month ago that
I don't know shit about storytelling
And you have a podcast
You kind of should learn
Pretty cool
Um
I got this
recommended by a comedian
named Andrew Schultz
I heard him talking about it
Before his last special
I got it
Got it, read it, finish it today
So it's fresh in my mind
Um
Pretty cool
what's weird is that sometimes you read books and uh you'll get something completely different from it
like there is a there's a section in that where i reread today because i like to take notes i like to
um i like to paragraph them like parenthesis them little notes out then i'll go back to it when
when you finish the books you have like these little like the book turns to like an ultimate
notepad and then you carry it with you whenever you need it. I look at book as
like companions in a way but I was like oh yeah you know when you read something
all it's just like there it is in black and white I have this feeling of thought but
someone actually said it in a sequence of words where okay that actually makes sense
where if you're talking to somebody
they only understand you, or if you're trying to read somebody,
like you're accurate 20% of time.
And it's same essay to you.
So we're really not good as humans to read other people when we're talking to them.
So we'll assume that what they think and feel,
but it looks like what I learned from the science and storytelling is we're accurate 20% in a time.
and that's not good at all.
I don't know about you, but 20% is that's F.
I know what a F is because I got many Fs in high school.
Like, damn, 20%, really?
And the number one higher for couples,
20 to like, it was 40%.
Even that's like, yo, that's not good.
Really?
So that's kind of weird, like, take it where I got from,
I do that.
I do actively do that.
Like I'll be talking to someone or listening to someone.
I'm trying not to assume their reaction because sometimes we just,
our brains like negative default is negative.
Oh, they're probably listening or something negative.
But yeah, that's true.
We don't really know when communicating with someone, how they're reacting.
You know.
So shout to that book.
I finished out today.
I like to read in the morning because it calms me.
I realize, because I actually stopped reading for a little bit.
I went to audiobooks.
The last book was an audiobook.
And I missed like, and I realized, oh, shit, maybe it's not even about, like, maybe it's not even about the information.
Maybe it's just the act of sitting down by yourself touching paper, smelling it for at least 15 minutes.
every single day.
Like maybe that,
maybe like the ritual itself is what you like to.
So the audio book thing for me didn't work in that moment.
So I do like it in the morning.
It's kind of looking at paper.
I don't know.
I think it's like a reset for your eyes
because you're always looking at a fucking screen.
Yeah, well, uh,
I feel back because now I'm back to ranting.
So it feels like we're back.
Um,
that we're talking earlier again about.
about the art accomplishment.
AJ, how, how you've been?
How has the last few months been for you?
We haven't really done a trick up on you, man.
You've been fucking killing it, dude.
Losing my mind.
No, I'm kidding.
No, it's been chill.
Just grinding it out here.
Some people came and went.
We're fucking still here.
Fucking day and day out.
Yeah.
But it's been cool, man.
Just seeing everything grow and, yeah, just like discovering the secret of growth is that there's no, there's no secret.
There's no shortcut, you know, just kind of you're leading the way.
And we come in here, we fucking put in the work, and then we see.
That's it.
We see what happens.
And that's it.
It's just consistency.
Just been learning a lot, man.
And it's applying it to everything, really.
And yeah, it's just the act of getting in, crunching.
And that's it.
But, yeah, everything's cool, man.
Everything's fucking cool.
We got a little bit ahead, so we're able to, like, experiment with stuff and make it fresh for the viewers and stuff.
And, yeah, got a lot of surprises coming through.
So excited for that.
And also, thank you to the lady.
She's been very understanding.
so
shut up
yeah
our ladies man
if you're a lady that doesn't
yeah
there's no understanding
in there
you're kind of
it's a lot harder
yeah
that's a
that's the other obstacle
dude
of many obstacles
you already got to get through
so
and the obstacle is yourself
you know
it's not like
they're not the obstacle
they're
it's the way
you deal
with things
the way you take care of stuff
so it's all up to
you. Yeah. So I think they make us better probably. Yeah. I mean, not probably. Definitely.
One thing I've seen in UJ is your ability has grown to handle pressure. So seeing you grow as a
person, it's been pretty cool. Yeah, thanks man. I mean, yeah, thanks for making it official, you know.
It's like, you know, I appreciate it, dude. It's awesome. To sacrifice to make this a real
place to come in and work and
you know not do anything else
as much you know
it's fucking rewarding just to
to grow something like this
and it's fun like it's still fun
it's a treat
to see how people react and
what people get out of it
like as a fan like
the things that I want to see
that actually happens
it's really dope
and the seaweed pot is
fucking hilarious.
Oh yeah, this is...
Good times.
Yeah, that's a nice little reset.
Yeah.
That's a nice little, okay.
You know, I don't want to do hours of research.
This is fucking, sit down and fucking hang, dude.
But yeah, dude, not a lot of people
can handle that fucking pressure, dude.
I mean, yeah, people came and went, not to...
Not to, you know, speak for them,
but I can get how it can be a little intense.
And there was a hump that we got through.
even like we probably butted heads a little bit.
Of course.
Just like a little bit of learning.
Of course.
How to deal with the psychotic musician.
And how to deal with like a more kind of.
It's true, man.
It's true.
Like maybe I'm too chill.
Yeah.
But that's really kind of my strength and how I can like keep doing shit, I guess.
Yeah.
I got to try to keep chill.
But yeah.
I mean, you know, your urgency rubs off on me.
So I'm learning that.
It's cool, man.
You do do that.
Yeah, you have the economy factor.
So it's a good contrast to my psychotic kind of urgency.
But I, you know, I guess we both need a little.
We both need a little trade-off.
Totally.
I can see how sometimes you need it like just, you're like just fucking 100% on everything that you're doing.
And then, yeah, I just try to keep everything minimum.
But I definitely need some more of that too sometimes.
Yeah.
weakness and a strength.
Oh, dude, it's every day.
I mean, some days call for urgency.
Some days call for a chill.
Yeah, totally.
Some days I'm urgent, psycho, but I do.
Sometimes, like, do you need to, like, chill out.
Like, fuck, step back, be present in the moment.
And so you can handle what's in front of you.
Yeah.
We're fucking here, dude.
We are here alive.
Fucking.
Alive and breathing, as you say.
We are alive and breathing, man.
Because we can easily not be alive and breathing.
Should we handle some,
uh,
so I,
yeah,
so we save us some,
uh,
a lot of fan questions.
I think we should just dive into them.
Yeah,
we won't be able to hit all of them,
but we've got some good,
uh,
nice little bucket here.
A little bucket of heaters.
All right.
From Donald Rankin.
Oh, dude,
thank you,
Jay.
I was going to ask you to help.
I need help with saying the names.
All right.
I am the worst at that.
If it's not like Chris,
or Jerry or like Ashley or like something easy like I I do I do struggle so these are all from
from YouTube okay all right so Donald hey man how are you have a good morning okay
real quick I saw this and it's a great question because sometimes sometimes you're out and
about and you're just talking of people no one don't ask you like hey do like what's up do you how are
I'm like, oh shit.
Because when someone asked me that, I'm like, oh, shit.
Thanks, man.
You know what?
And also, no matter how, no matter what's going on with your day, I am talking to slowly men here.
Maybe even women, too, who knows?
But it doesn't matter what's going on in your life.
When someone asks you, how are you?
There's only one word to say.
Good. Good.
I did steal that from Ramajako.
And that was years ago and still like,
sometimes someone will ask you, I'm like, oh, I'm good.
And then if you go into a conversation,
then you could maybe kind of open up like the gate,
like a little bit.
If there's, there's innocence, you know what?
I'm good.
But the fact that someone asked that, I'm like, you know what?
I'm good.
The world is crumbling.
Good.
I'm good, man.
I'm alive.
and dude
I feel like I'm being that old guy
but
one moment
you're feeling something
and it feels so real
and it's like
I'm not going to get through this
this is not going to pass
and the next day
it's a whole new day
or the next week or next month
it's like oh that was
I
it was so clear in my mind
that this wasn't going to pass
but it does
it's cool
So good is, I think, the only response to right now at this moment.
Donald, I personally, I am actually good.
So I appreciate you asking.
Thank you.
All right, how do you say this one?
Looks like Jacob with two O's.
Jakub.
Jakub, what's up, dude?
What is, I like this one.
What is Chris Barnes like in person?
Can we look up his age again, Jay?
I forget.
I think his age is really important here.
57.
Sorry about that.
I'm down in coffee.
57 years old.
Born December 29,
1967,
1967.
Damn is it.
It's a 60s baby.
He did it.
I think.
Yeah,
when that thing became real,
I took that thing
I'll say it again and again.
I took this one very personal.
Very, very personal.
I know what it's like to have a,
and narrative thrown out there that may or may not be true but 99% of the chance it's not true
and i was really fucking pissed when i was watching like videos on youtube during research and people
don't even know him people i haven't even met before and at a metal show having these opinions
putting out this narrative of him you know what dude i want i want to i want to see the human side
of chris barnac i know i know it's in there that dude is so cool man
he was so gracious with with his time not a rockstar at all just he was here on time gave us his time
and we didn't even know but we so there's only been a few guests that me and jay actually
picked up and chris barnes is one of them so we got in a jay's car what what car were you driving
i was driving my girls a Honda yeah yeah yeah
She was sick, dude.
So we're driving him back.
It was late.
And he was late for bus call.
Like the buses were all like just waiting for him.
I was like, dang, dude.
Like he could easily cut it off short.
But no, he gave us his time.
He was really fucking cool, man.
I'm really glad that people saw the real side of him.
I'm just happy that we have a piece in that.
That there is a.
regardless what you see or here, you know, there's, there's always that other side to a person.
He's a great guy.
12.45 a.m.
Woo, dude.
Wow.
I'm in bed at 10.
Just so you know, I'm a loser.
I'm in bed at 10.
And we rolled in here like at 10.30.
I was like, and we're about to have probably at this point the most important conversation we've ever had.
But that's where we had coffee.
It was great, man.
He was a really cool guy.
the moment he got in the car,
he's telling stories from the 80s.
I'm like,
oh, man,
this is sick,
dude.
We're hanging up with Chris Barnes, man.
And,
uh,
yeah,
obviously it was over and just gave each other a big hug.
I think,
I think we both knew something special just happened.
Um,
so yeah,
shout out to you with Chris Barnes,
man.
Cool,
cool guy.
And too,
oh yeah,
real quick,
too.
So Jay also wanted to show,
uh,
because we did the pod,
after the show.
And dude,
like the ease
are sick live.
Do you want,
like once he does here,
like, oh shit,
dude,
it's cool.
It's fucking cool, man.
It was fucking sick,
dude.
It's sick and it's,
it's,
it's a vibe.
So it was a phenomenal show,
sounding great
that the band was on point.
So yeah,
again,
shout out to Chris Barnes.
And thank you for your question.
Yeah.
Fucking horned up,
dude.
Uh-oh.
I'm,
I'm under some pressure right now.
Sleepy.
Sleepy.
It's a little donation as well.
Okay, Sleepy.
What is your favorite guitar riff you've written so far?
I am dying to know.
Well, thank you, Sleepy, for your question.
Throughout my career, this one always stays with me,
and it always kind of, oh yeah, that's my favorite riff.
that's that's literally it um because i remember probably this one of the strongest
memories and emotions uh of knowing where i was standing i know where i was in the bandroom i know
i can remember looking at big josh him playing drums i could remember like the moment
and uh i don't really have that with a lot of riffs i mean maybe
Maybe it's the head-banging.
I'm really head-banging memories out of my fucking skull.
I don't know.
But this one, for some reason, it won't shake.
I remember where I was standing.
And the riff just flying out of my body.
That was, that's the intro to unanswered.
That 210-210-210-210 riff.
That just flew out and it just, that riff pisses me off.
because I don't know if I can't ever do it again
and it just flew out
and then we were doing that song for a while
it's like like an intro it wasn't even like a song
just
I think I could actually play the beer for you
just you can't you can't beat it
and then so that's based that simple thing
is the meat of the song
that's the foundation of what would come after
and then literally no brain
no thinking just okay what's next uh i don't know hit hit the snare it twice i don't know and do a
fucking breakdown then we went to classic suezasance just you know just okay well just do that but
i don't do some speed picking and then you uh chug that but yeah that that that 210 really just
it's it's uh you can't you can't we recreate it it's like just
Again, it's just shocking that something like that just falls out of the sky.
It's just out of the sky.
Like, where did that come from?
And that's why I asked kind of dumb questions during the pot to other guests from all walks of life to black metal.
We had the Lord in here.
And where do Ribs come from?
I'm still, I look back at that one moment in particular.
I look back at that moment in my life the most.
like how do that happen
and even when you're right it
it's like how do we
how do we do that
I do not know
um
you'll
you'll play guitar for hours
hours days months
and nothing comes out
and then you fucking get in a garage
with your homies and then the first thing that flies
out is that you're like
I don't know
I don't know so yeah that's
um
whenever
I think back at like a favorite riff or a time.
That's death in the top is the intro to unanswered.
And that riff will end up being ripped off by practically every deathcore band.
They did their own version of it.
But you can't beat, you cannot beat 210, 210210.
You can't get any more simple than that.
I mean, open up Blast Beat Chug.
A lot of bands would do their own version of it.
but I'm very proud of that moment.
Yeah, shout out. Thank you for that.
Dolly LeVay.
Oh, damn, Jay.
Killing it, dude.
Okay, Dolly, what do you think about the guitar tone on Life is Peachy?
Watch out for the Kia Boys.
Okay.
I think that the guitar tone for Life is Pici is a Nassius tone.
of all time and no one talks about that record.
I think that's where it starts and ends.
Whenever I hear heavy bands now, us included, I'm like,
I'm not like, I'm on original.
They're even on original.
I just hear corn on every drug possible.
Like even when I do stuff here,
or I hear a new band,
it's like it just sounds like corn on steroids
and every drug imaginable.
It's just maximized to the max.
But I think back at Life is Peachy the most.
It's just an ugly,
ugly tone.
Jay pulled up there,
a release date,
October 15th,
1996.
I think we were talking nasty tone.
Like nasty.
Like just like,
like,
ugh,
it's kind of,
it kind of sucks.
It kind of sucks.
And I purposely,
I'm telling me purposely for hours,
I sit down my amp or here.
I'm like,
how can I make my tone?
It's a fine line
between nasty and shitty.
It's a almost impossible line to hit.
But when you hit it,
it's special.
And I think this record is literally
where starts and where it ends
to get a really heavy,
nasty tone.
It's a,
it is a moment in time.
And,
I think we could probably,
I think I could probably play a riff from this.
And also with the,
with the quad,
which again, I figured out,
I figured out,
a couple weeks ago and uh you could change the tuning quickly so if you happen to have this uh this is what i do
uh you could try it out so to play corn songs it has to be standard a for me being such a corn fanatic
i don't play corn songs really at all until i figure this out and i'm playing more corn songs than ever
like i was as a child um so that's
why I do believe in technology now because
oh this is bringing me back to when I was a teenager
I'm doing I'm doing
because it has to be standard a day so what I do
so this is my
this is my tone
oh yeah it's sort of riff right now
we should probably save that one
put that in the riff bank but
if I'm playing corn songs or even any
any older band from the 90s or 2000s
what I do I just turn off
I turn off my tube screamer
because this is unnecessary gain
Do you hear that?
So that's just the amp.
So that's the first step.
And then what I do, now I'm going to change the tuning here.
So I have a pitch sifter, pitch shifter.
I say that fucking five times fast.
And this is where, this, this was the game changer for me.
So I tune up to B.
So now I tune up to B.
But with this, I'm going to tune it down.
Uh, I think two.
We're going to go to Nate.
Right, right now it's at zero.
obviously we're going to go negative 2, not 1 and 2.
And now we're A.
It's just instantly, it's instantly that sound.
It's just something about like when you have a seven string in your hand and you hit power chords,
you're just something, I feel like you're tapping into that era.
I don't know what it is, but me playing A tuning for so long,
drop A is literally nothing like Saturday.
I can't even compare the tunings.
I think Don Kluza's Saturday, actually.
So this is my personal corn tone that I do right here.
We turn up to two screamer, tune up, and adjust to you a pitch block.
It's a word slower.
So we're talking about life is peachy.
Nassiest tone.
I mean, this tone is, it's going to sound wrong, but I'm trying to explain the point is this, this sounds too good.
I don't even know what I could do to make it sound worse.
But I kind of need like, but yeah, a song that we could all play, it's a twist.
Jay, if you would do it, do me the honors.
Just do it.
Just do it.
That is so, that is so nasty.
That is literally where it starts and ends.
Literally, this record is where I think nasty tone starts and ends.
And that's me being a corn fan
And their letter records are obviously the ones I love
But when I think about nasty tone, I really go
To that one
So to answer your question, yeah, I literally love that tone
We got
The best example of it is
The cleansing. I mean, it's that
Like it sounds like shit, but there's something about it
There's something like, what is that?
And humans are stupid.
Humans are stupid.
I had it in my hand.
I had the tone of my hand.
I had it.
And I lost it.
But I think I'm close to getting that tone back.
But yeah,
shout out to you at Korn
but having literally
like the nasty's guitar tone
on the planet.
So that's my,
that's my personal opinion of it.
Life is peachy.
Life is peachy.
Jam it.
Those songs are also really hard to play.
And that's me being a corn fan.
I try to play Chi.
I don't even know what they're fucking playing.
I try my,
this doesn't sound right.
This doesn't sound good.
Lost.
swallow.
I tried, I'm like, dude, it sounds like shit.
When I play it, it sounds like shit.
But, uh, I think one,
sometime, you know what? Sometimes soon, I'm going to really learn
these tunes.
Asich, I try to play that song recently.
I can't, like, it's not, that's a sound like,
man, you got to really, like, lock in.
But shout out to twist, though.
Freaking sick.
A little heater?
A little, little quick heater, dude.
A little hot boy.
Do you know what next record do?
We're going to do a quick hot boy.
There's a quick little hot boy, you know?
It's like 49 second hot boy.
There's a 49 second hot pocket.
All right.
Darth Viper.
All right.
Darth Piper.
Any music projects in the works like new SS.
You know what I have noticed is that SS is coming back.
People are kind of realizing, oh, wait, they're not racist.
This is how you say a band short.
No, no music projects.
I'm still just trying to balance the pod and new music with the band Suissezance.
I'm still kind of in, I'm pretty fucking close.
We're talking earlier how we were having someone to help us with the pod.
And right when we got there, there were some adjustments that had to be made.
So kind of had to start over.
But feeling like, like I'm there.
This is tough because this record is definitely a lot different than the other ones, especially the past.
How many records don't, Eddie?
Eddie, remember you must die, become a hunter, self-title that everyone loves.
Wow, you did four records.
Isn't that crazy?
Eddie's done more records than Mitch.
So fucking, it's wild, man.
Wild.
I feel out of those four, this is by far.
the most important one. So I have to personally approach differently, which normally I would, I'd be
like, all right, the record is done. But something in my, I just need to lock, I need to dive in to
myself, way more than I ever have in my career. So, uh, that's what I have time for is this and
that. But, uh, but yeah, I'm trying. It's fucking trying. So yeah, writing is look at it's different.
I can't put it in I can't put it into words it says I can't just sit and write quickly anymore like like like I used to it's just like I need to like dive in and like at the risk of sounding woo-woo I need to dive in like a spiritual way more than ever.
So Eddie has the appropriate foundation which I never really gave Eddie a foundation.
I'm really trying to do that now with that this one.
That's really all I have time for.
ideas for music projects, but really this is at the time
I could barely handle a suicide, to be honest.
So maybe in the future, maybe once things, life kind of happens,
that could easily change.
So yeah, thank you for your question, Darth Piper.
Piper, right?
V-Y-P-E-R. Sick.
Better boy.
People to know about the rap album coming soon.
I can't even speak English.
Damn.
Demonized alu card.
Do your, Jay, you're so much better at this than me.
I would not have said that.
What would you have said?
Demonized alu.
Alucard, right?
Yeah.
Okay, okay.
I look hard.
Okay.
Garza, will you guys ever make more songs like Torres again?
Love that song in record.
Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness.
we haven't played doors in a while
we've been talking to bring it back in the set
it was kind of touched upon on
it was only talked about it for a little bit
on the last record but we actually didn't write any songs like that
which was disappointing
I think this one we're going to go
I don't I think we're
all at a point where we're trying to make the record
have its way. It's not my way. It's not anyone else. The record, I think, is there. Again, I'm trying
not to sound woo-woo. But the record is there. Just brought a point where we're trying to let it
have its way. And what's best for the music, what's best for the band, as opposed, I think
the last record we're still kind of growing up with egos and stuff. I think we're finally there.
I think we're going to start exploring more. I think everyone,
we got through the rough patch we we got through that valley that long valley uh now we're
uh on the up-and-coming it's nice so everyone has had up i think everyone's had a good place in their
life wherever they might be everyone every member is different i meet me included i'm not i'm not a
fucking pony around either deal with but uh i was i think we're going to explore really tied all in
tie in all the records, I think,
without saying too much.
I think we're in a good headspace
where we could explore,
really explore this sound again
and a scene where the music
and the songs will take us.
Yeah.
I have a sound in my head.
I do.
I do have like a vision.
And we'll see,
we'll see where that goes.
You know?
I'm at a point in my life where, you know,
What can I do to get out of my own way?
How can I let the riffs write themselves?
How can I channel something?
But yeah, I'm curious how it's going to sound.
I wish I could fast forward two years from now when the record's probably out.
But I can't.
That's what's also keeping the band together.
Everyone kind of knows something's there.
So yeah, demonized.
Thank you for your
thoughtful question.
I think I want
one or two more.
Yeah.
Ooh.
All right.
Dylan Overton.
Does I say Dylan?
Is this a...
Dylan with an O?
All right, cool.
Do you have any weird...
Excuse me.
Any weird talent or hobbies?
My hobby is golf.
I've been really
reconnecting with that.
I've been golfing
since I was in diapers. I'm not even kidding.
I was practicing golf and I was in diapers.
So that's kind of my childhood
hobby.
I went to the driving range
last Wednesday.
And Jay
has literally fucking rid my mind.
Buzz Osborne was in here. And I
if you had told me, I'll be taking
golf tips from Buzz
from the Melvins. I would be like, why?
I've literally, I think out of any guests right now, sitting here right now, out of any
guests we've had, I've took the most at a buzz.
Because the shit, I don't think you guys get it.
Like, this is free information.
I'll say this a million times.
This is free for you.
You're learning as I'm learning.
Literally, when a podcast is done, I do the things that we talk about here.
I'll ask the dumb questions.
I don't care how it flows.
I'm not an influencer.
I'm not a YouTuber.
I'm literally a guy that's sitting here asking questions.
There's no secret.
There's no, I'll sit here and be awkward.
I do not care how I look.
I asked the questions and I go do it.
Literally.
And Buzz is probably the one I took the most from.
One was golfing.
I'm practicing my putting way more.
I literally, okay, I got a two putt.
Two putt.
Three putt, then your score goes up.
But golf your score needs to be as low as possible.
It's really hard to do.
Literally, I was done with this, and I started practicing my putting.
And so I'm Wednesday, it's okay, I went through the driving range, you know, got the driver out.
Okay, satisfied my ego, you know, and got it done.
Okay, I went to the putting area.
I said it's practicing.
All right, two putt.
Two putt.
So I do, he's like, it's ingrained in my brain now.
I buzz Osborne is literally ingrained in my brain and now when I gophe, I think about
him.
I think since that happened, I've been golfing one, two, three, four times since then.
And I thought about him each time.
And that's my, and then off the top of my head, his tips on songwriting, I did that.
Like, reconnecting with songs that you love.
it always takes you back.
And sure enough, like,
I've been connecting with,
with this thing here,
and then learning old songs,
like old songs that you love when you're a teenager.
And you're playing,
okay,
I'm learning a song,
and then you go off into some other riff that's yours.
I'm like,
dude,
this is exactly what he said.
It's exactly to the TV,
how he said it.
Like,
yeah,
I'll put some Beatles songs,
and then this will turn into my own riff.
I'm like,
it's,
it works.
Like,
and I think that's a very,
universal
lesson.
And so shout out the buzz, man.
Oh, marriage too.
I mean, is
seeing a guy
because musicians do not
have the best
musicians, celebrities,
sports artists don't have the best
rep as far as
like relationships.
So when you meet these people that did it,
you know,
start asking questions, you know, how do you do?
How did you have a marriage last for 30 years?
No, he gave, pretty common sense tips, but, you know, it's just nice to learn.
Hear it.
Hear someone actually say, say it.
You know, it's very different when someone says it.
It's very different when you say it.
And, yeah, he gave some really cool tips about, you know, a successful marriage, truth, finding truth.
Obviously, he's probably around a lot of things that aren't true that he has to answer to.
and that made me question
a lot of the things I learned.
Still learn, but also
this had an open mind
and try to find your own truth
and don't watch a documentary
and think you know everything.
He helped me again
kind of check my own ego.
Oh shit, man, I don't know
about this one subject that I thought I knew.
Literally, I read so many
of those fucking books, dude,
and he literally just obliterated
months, months, an hour,
so much time reading about a certain subject
and he just obliterated all that.
Like, oh, shit.
Maybe I don't know.
When I actually thought I knew.
So, yeah, hobbies, golf is sick.
Definitely, it helps with your creativity, totally.
I think your hobby is very important.
Like, it's clear, it's, clears your mind of bullshit.
It's kind of, you can pause and you're not working, you're not.
You're not forward.
You're not thinking about your past.
You're just like, oh, you're just doing, like, your thing.
I think I think it's very important
So shout out to golf
And shout out to you
Tiger Woods
He's sick dude
He's fucking sick dude
I think we got one more
And then we can move on
To part of some
Some current events
Fucking chug nor worse dude
I forgot how to do this
We are back
I'm ranting I feel like I'm ranting
Which is how I felt the other ones
Oh man this is crazy
Okay nice little closer
RJ
when will your signature guitar be available?
Well, it's not a signature.
It's my dream.
I'm really hoping that Fender will do it.
Again, all I could ask for is all of you to keep asking about it,
tell them about it.
You know, I'm not going to go anywhere.
I'm going to keep putting it out there.
It's a little, every podcast is right here.
I'm trying to put it out there out in the world.
Just connect the guitar.
tar and me. I'm doing my best, but
I, you know,
putting it out into the universe,
I think it will happen. It's just win.
It could be years.
It could be happening now, but
it's got to keep,
I do,
behind the scenes, I keep asking.
Like, hey,
it's good, it's going to go well.
It's, it's Fender,
and,
I think when the time is right,
I think it's going to happen.
But we do have a,
we do have number three coming
it's gonna be same exact thing
but pearl white
pearl white so that's that's gonna be six
probably get it probably this month
and I'm pretty excited about it
and you'll be seeing the
videos
I've always wanted a white guitar
I love white guitars
you're just like
it's a classic
oh this is something about it man
it's a classic look
but they also look modern
at the same time
with a white
I'm just instantly like you're just like oh like you know Jimmy Hendricks or
Kirkobane just like classic classic look man it's beautiful man beautiful so yeah I'll be
rocking that literally the same specs literally the same specs the only thing that's
going to be different is literally like the headstock I learn with this one this is
is painted.
So I learned the hard way
like with the light
live
there'll be a glare on it.
So the other one is just like
it's flat.
So the light won't.
Yeah, that light
definitely hits the headstock
in a bad way.
But that's it.
The specs,
I learned the hard way.
I think
guitar players or any artist
I'm talking to you directly.
Sometimes you want something
and you find it and then you keep searching.
I can't talk shit.
I do the same thing.
I can't talk shit because I've been there
and I do my best to stop.
Sometimes you have what you want
and it's just like, oh, I'm going to keep searching.
So this is a kind of a second chance in my life
where I have something special.
Why am I going to experiment more?
You have it.
It's literally sometimes we have something in front of our face
and we just look away.
It's so,
stupid how we're wired. We're so
stupid. But yet, these
specs are literally perfect. So
why experiment with the woods? Everything's
perfect. My side, I chug, that's my
sound. Okay, I'm not going to experiment with
something weird, like these weird little fucking woods
or this anxiety. What about this wood? What about this?
Bambinga that came from Africa that a fucking cat shit on.
It's like a special... No, no, no. This is
mahogany.
Mahogany.
That's sweet
sweet mahogany
that time tested
woods and also it's the neck
the neck
when I first got it
there's something about it
like it was awkward
but man
as a months has passed
I've fallen in love with it
so it's basically like an ultra neck
but so it's really fat
kind of awkward
but when you get used to it
it's just like you don't want you don't want
when you go to like the normal thin necks
you're like oh it's kind of
kind of some bitch shit
over here dude i want
it's kind of the next
freaking pussy dude
but uh
yeah same thing i'm pretty
pretty uh
excited about it
been the same thing
you know we're
we'll uh
we'll push it as much so we can
um
this is a video
I did a video with sweet water
to drop in uh probably pretty soon
hopefully next week or the week after
trying to do things just to push it
it's pushed out there
I mean
as much as it's my dream
and I'll be fucking sick
to being that short list of artists
of arguably the greatest
guitar company of all time
and arguably the most iconic
guitar shape of all time
it's also for you. I mean, people that
want it, like, I didn't have it as
a kid, you know, I didn't have it.
So I'm really hoping
that my purpose on a planet is just put it out there
to the kids
and then when I'm dead and gone,
those guitars are going to just live forever.
and be all over the world.
Well, cool.
I think we're ready to maybe tackle a couple current events and maybe do some,
I might riff, we'll see.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, so if you're just listening,
we've talked about this a lot, but I just want to share the picture.
Yeah, Sue Hassan's address, backlash surrounding STB tour.
And then it says a quote.
It says,
fuck you.
I thought,
I thought that was funny.
Ronnie Racki,
I actually shared this.
It's like,
hey,
this is,
uh,
this is rare.
This is rare in the scene,
regardless of how you feel about it.
It's a rare thing.
You know,
say,
say,
fuck you and there it is.
You know,
but,
uh,
yeah,
we're just in a different,
me,
person,
I'm just in a different place in,
like,
the music,
uh,
world.
I'm in a very different,
different place. Whether I'm right or wrong,
um,
you know, that's, I think that goes to, uh, opinions, but, uh,
but, uh, what I learned about stories again, uh, you got to say your story again and again and
again and drill it into people's minds. So that's what, that's my purpose for probably
until I'm dead. Um, but yeah, I lost my career twice.
It's, uh, most bands don't lose.
it once. So we're in a very such a small circle of bands on the planet, not even metal.
I asked this to people what? What band lost a career twice and it's about to get in it back
a third time? I don't know. I've been looking. So the thing is, I'm also not a model. Like,
I don't want bands to go through what we went through. I should suck. But if you lose your
career once it's this it's nice to uh because this artist you are very insecure you're like it's almost
impossible to gain any kind of traction with your art or your music or uh i mean it's almost impossible
if you look at the odds it's it's almost impossible and uh so once you break through all you want to do
is keep it you're like it's like it's like a toxic unhealthy relationship you're like
oh, I can't lose, I can't lose anything.
I'm like, so basically you become a slave to like your fan base, essentially,
and to the music industry, like, oh, you want, or favors or anything,
because you just want, you just want your music to be heard.
And, you don't know, you don't want to lose anything.
Because it's already hard enough to make it.
It's already hard enough to make money off it.
It's, it's almost impossible to make money doing music or any kind of art.
It's almost impossible.
So, of course, you know, I do understand where artists come from and,
and bands were
you don't want to lose anything.
You don't want to see anything weird.
You don't want to,
you know,
a lot of bands are going like the PC route.
I mean,
that's just,
that's just the truth.
So,
uh,
you're going to have a lot.
So basically,
my passion is what is the,
what can make the music the best it could possibly be.
And that takes psychotic people.
I mean,
that's just,
that's kind of the music I,
I love and I miss.
So,
uh,
stuff like that
you know it's not it's a thing it's just
look at it at just surface level stuff
it's it's funny it should be
you shouldn't care about that
um
the thing is when you lose your career once
so okay then you you
you become very
comfortable with oh
you know
you know who am I
who am I in the
in the art space
what do I really think about my art
and
and uh
times that by two
yeah we
I don't care
I don't care
it's like he just
like dude who cares
like we I know what it's like to lose it
so it kind of gives us
like the freedom to kind of speak our minds
you know if you don't like it then
don't listen
I don't listen
I just I don't like
I'm not forced people to listen to suicide
or you know
I want to see more of it
It's funny.
It's to me it's funny.
I think it's funny.
But a lot of bands don't know what it's like to lose it.
Once.
They think the,
they think their own problems are like,
I think they're their own problem.
Oh, this is hard.
This is really,
it's like,
dude,
you don't know.
Like,
take,
take what's already hard about pushing your art and then times that by,
who knows how much.
That's what we,
that's what we've been through twice.
Like,
we already go through like the normal,
dynamics of being a band, which is, it's all these weird little things, all these weird little,
you know, someone trying to be sober, someone's drinking too much, I'm a fucking idiot,
I'm a psychotic with no direction. It's just, there's the normal band dynamic that's already
impossible to almost like kind of hold on to it. But, uh, that combined with losing it is,
I don't wish that on any band. But unfortunately, uh, no one's really, most bands are afraid to lose it.
but we're not.
So it's fun to say fuck you.
It's fun.
I think more bands should do it.
I think, who knows?
Maybe we are in a different time
where maybe more bands will kind of come out
and speaking their mind.
It's only like a handful of them.
If you think about it,
it was kind of crazy.
Out of thousands of bands.
Only a handful of people are outspoken.
It's just weird.
It's just weird we get into like touchy subjects,
like politics or a politics,
touchy subjects or
whatever. It's just
it's like the
music you listen to, I mean, that's
made by humans.
And
I will kind of touch on stuff
here or the other
pod, like, we'll kind of
touch on like a politic
subject here or like some kind of touchy subject.
And, you know, I
then I'll see some
like someone's opinion. I'm like
remember
I replied to a comment on a spot of
Because if I if you want a
Reply for me
I I actually do pop into Spotify
Because it's just
It's just not so chaotic
It's only a few comments
Okay this is manageable
And someone got all fucking pissing
I'm like what
Why get mad?
Every bang let's do is full of humans
They all have their own beliefs
They had their own
This person I go what
This person is left, right
They're liberal
They all have their own
like beliefs they just don't talk about it out loud so what's like i just don't understand like the
i just don't understand why it's it's it's a big deal i just don't i just don't get it like they have
their own beliefs they're not stupid these people in bands are that they're not stupid they have their
own beliefs but they don't talk about it because they they don't want a backlash you and they don't
even know what a backlash is.
Backlash is, uh, it's, I get it. It's, it's, it's tough, but it's all, it's all temporary, but
that's, that's my mini rant. That's a mini rant, but yeah, this, this, this, this was fun.
I'll see it pop up on my IHE. I'm like, I just start laughing. It's fun. Well,
it's sold out, so. Yep.
On the people that comment on my financials, you have no idea how much money we're going to
make on that tour. I don't even know.
I don't even know.
$50 million.
That'd be sick.
Cash.
50 million pennies cash.
That'd be sick, dude.
Wait, but that's what?
That's $5,000.
Right?
50 grand.
Oh, okay.
All right is, 50 grand.
Nice.
Okay, that's a lot.
That's live changing money.
That's live changing money.
For a couple shows, no bad.
Yeah, not bad.
All right.
close off this chapter here
yeah close off the chapter
for now
I'll see you at the shows
if not that's cool to you
I'll see you on the next one
I like this one because I know
a lot of people
secretly
shopping
uh
my
my bed's from IKEA
my dressers from IKEA
um
IKEA is the shit
IKEA is the shit
um
okay so
IKEA is suddenly
closing more
stores amid concerning customer trend. So what's the trend? Online. People are just buying online.
Since the Pandy a couple years ago. Since the Pandy, obviously people are brick and mortar stores.
Home retail change are changing. Before the pandemic, some of the most popular brick-by-motor stores
were furniture and home-decker change. Weird. I don't know that.
I think just people just going out less to buy shit and more on Amazon and
Wayfair you know for furniture stuff like that
fast shipping easy returned you know just put them in a box
Yeah, take a bag.
You got to go back to the store so it looks like they're trying to adapt
with some plan and order points
Ikea has rolled out a new concept called the plan and order points
which allows more distant customers to come into
a smaller format
location to plan out
rooms such as a living room
but that's why you like IKEA because it's massive
it's kind of a thing
it's kind of like a date you know yeah you like
you go and then and then you look forward to those
sheet sheet and meatballs after
oh yeah you're at the end of the tunnel there
you got those meatballs and what is that
cranberry sauce whatever the fuck it is
like cranberry meatballs and I always
I always get the
I get the ice cream
so good
The watery mashed potatoes.
I love that Kia.
Yeah, it's just...
Dude, we were talking about this a while ago.
I kind of feel bad for, like, kids growing up.
Like, I love going to, like, Toys R Us.
Like, man, when you walk into a toy store, a massive toy store,
you got KB toys, which is smaller in, like, the malls.
But you go to Toys R Us that buy a Power Ranger?
Dude, it was so fucking cool, man.
Damn, yeah
That looks like that
KB toys dude
What happened to KB sucks man
Amazon
Life
Fuck man
Amazon
It's
Damn
KB toys is a throwback though
It is huh
We're gonna reach all the
Millennials and up
Because when you're kidding you
Like you look forward to going
Inside of a store
And it's like
Oh just cool
Looking at all like the Ninja Turtles
Like the Power Rangers
Like the wrestling
Toys I remember
Oh, holy crap.
Wait, a Nintendo was $100 bucks?
No.
Action set?
Look at this action set.
You get the bundle?
Was it really?
$100?
$99, $99.
You get the two controllers.
It looks like Mario Duck Hunt
and a little rifle, pistol thing.
The zapper.
The zapper?
I remember Game Boy was, it's Game Boy $89.
Wow, those batteries fucking lasted.
Five minutes.
Fuck.
Yeah, that just killed your batteries, dude.
Yeah, it's sad.
It looks like IKEA's next.
Sucks, man.
The dude, it's cool.
Like, I was walking around IKEA,
and then, oh, there's,
there's that bed.
I'm laying it, see if I like it.
Man.
And when else is sketch,
she's buying clothes online.
It's always a gamble.
Is this even going to fit?
Fuck.
Yeah, it's like a day.
I wonder if I need anything
from there before it closes down
or she hit up after the pot real quick
go take a walk
little meatballs
I think we got one more
yep IKEA peace out
fuck it sucks man
okay this is actually the one I really wanted to talk about
so
this is actually the second article I've seen
in the past two weeks so this is actually
an issue that affects
everyone listening watching
let's see
16 billion Apple
Facebook, Google, and other passwords leaked.
Act now. This is actually the second article that I found.
And it's crazy, dude.
184 million compromised credentials leaked.
That's a lot.
I remember I saw this.
So this is the second article I found.
I'm like, oh, this is actually,
oh, wait, FBI is warning people not
click on links in SMS messages.
So yeah,
it's kind of like when people will call you,
when you had a landline,
I guess if they call it,
but dude,
they're texting your fucking phone.
Don't click on that shit.
I just delete it.
It's like it's not,
you know it's not anybody.
It's delete,
but some people, I guess,
open up the text and then click the,
I'm like,
what are you,
what the fuck are you doing?
I've been close.
Really?
Really?
They kind of hide as like a toll road.
I know the toll roads before it was UPS and then now they're doing like just really deep dives on your data
Dude don't click that shit don't see if you buy something from a website
Somehow they get that data and then they'll send you a text as the website like
Please can complete the you know your purchase here and they kind of camouflage themselves as a company
Yeah, it's why stolen passwords
are up for sale
and there are millions on the dark web
to anyone with the very little amount of cash
required to purchase them.
Yeah, and the first article I saw
was
illustrate from Google, which literally
I'm right there with you, I'm going to change my password
on Google. So the percentage was
61%
of
Google passwords have been compromised.
So think about that.
Now let that one sink in.
I'm probably on that list.
So literally, 61% of you listening and watching are affected by this.
That's crazy.
And I heard, this is actually on the Sean Ryan show.
He was interviewing an ethical hacker.
And I remember him mentioning like, once your passwords are on the dark web, you can't undo that.
Like, you have to change your fucking passwords.
Like, you can't undo like, literally, he had to.
change all your passwords because once your shit's out there it's out there forever that's
fucking scary dude so switch your passwords to pass keys i don't know what the pass key is or i always
ignore it i guess switch your passwords to pass keys huh i'm king asked them questions so yeah what's uh
what's a pass key it's like a thumb drive maybe stored locally on your device re
because the password is on a server
and a pass key is just on your device
automatically generated to be complex and strong
interesting
supported on selected apps and websites
okay interesting
so this affects all of us
so I'm currently in the process of changing
I just changed a lot of
oh there it is so yeah it's like a physical
Oh, you got to put a thumb...
Oh, they're like making you to do the fucking thumbprint.
This is how they're doing it.
It's always a double-edged sword.
It's always a double-edged sword, dude.
Fuck!
Oh, my goodness, dude.
There's no winning.
It's even more invasive.
You put in your physical data.
Like, your body, biometrics.
Oh, my gosh.
Dude, I don't...
So, I've been avoiding this for,
a while. I don't, I don't do the face thing and I don't do the thumbnail.
The, the, uh, I, I don't do that. It's, it's like password. Oh, but I, I don't know.
I don't know, man. I don't know as far as this. What's more secure and how is this going to
involve? It always involves as something. So what I, what I do, I put on my passwords, I write
them all down. So that and I keep them in like a little fucking, keep them in my, in my,
folder all my passwords are handwritten so they're not any kind of server or anything anything weird so
we're down to to spend time and always carry those with you this paper because because i i had a high
thought was uh this was just on my notepad it's like i was putting ideas i had just just on a notepad
this ideas my do what okay now that i typed it and saved it now this isn't my idea anymore it's it's in my
phone, but it's, what does that even mean? And remember, like, I was also high,
type in it as, as well. So you have, I had that extra, you know, extra thought process.
It's like, hmm, where is this really going? It's why I love, I love writing things down. I'm like,
dude, like, this isn't going to go anywhere. This is, this is from my eyes. I could choose to burn it,
which actually, I've been thinking about burning someone pasture and it's just like, I don't know,
why just burn them.
There might be some passwords in there, I don't know.
To my hotboy.com, my hot mail.
But yeah, scary, check out, update your passwords.
This was, again, the second thing I saw in the past couple weeks.
I'm like, oh, we should probably talk about it.
It really affects all of us.
It's a hot boy right now.
This is a hot boy.
It's always going to be a hot boy.
this is always going to be a hot boy
maybe we should take a break from devices
and tech
go outside
dude I don't know
I don't know man it's always
it's always a pro and a con
always a pro and a con
well cool I think it's cool to wrap up on a dark subject
right
it got even darker
okay so I saw this
last night I was like holy crap
So this is Israel
An Iranian exchanging deadly fire
And there's literally
Across the way
It's a band plane
So if you're just listening
I'm trying to describe
But if you're watching this
It's kind of peek in real quick
There's a band plane
And you can literally see
The back and forth in the background
It looks like a meteor shower
Or it's some kind of
it's crazy
it's like
it's just a streak of missiles
in the back
while the band plays on the roof
wow dude
in uh lebanon
imagine being there
and people out
with what their phone is just like
filming it
wow
I saw this last thing
I'm like
I was just like
it just tripped me out
it does take a lot for me to
stop doing
stop
and look at my phone
because you know
I believe like 50%
of things you watch
watch on the internet is not even real.
So when I saw this, this made me stop, I'm like, oh, this
is crazy. This is nuts.
This wanted to share it.
And people are just partying across the way.
Wow, dude.
I can't even imagine.
And that dude's just plain.
It looks like a Gibson.
Just rocking.
Fucked.
Man, God be with you, man.
Wow.
There's always something going on around the world.
There's always something that happening.
And we're just here just,
chugging.
Got chug, dude.
Sometimes he's got chug, dude.
My chugs is full of
positivity.
I think your chugs can save the world.
I think so, too, man.
If you don't have, dude, if you don't have sports or music,
what do you have to connect
with every country on a planet?
Music, sports,
what else connects people?
in like a positive light.
Movies, arts.
Movies, any kind of art.
Yeah, coffee.
Coffee.
Concert Cafe is coffee.
Yeah, a quick little plug.
1799.
Quick, quick little plug.
Well, thank you for listening to watch.
And thank you for
kind of staying
and being part of this little journey.
It's been a while since we've done a solo.
A quick, a quick little check-in.
so let's see what what are some goals
let's see drink a little less
um trying to lose like 15 pounds
yeah it's a little bit of an issue
oh yeah we are re-empt everything
um all the
there's a new cover
new in backdrop everything
a problem that we were having is uh
people weren't connecting the podcast with me being a guitar player
in the band.
So,
which was actually the goal.
I want,
I want this to be separate
from the band,
and it turns out,
it separated completely.
So be careful
what you wish for.
So we've kind of connected
everything.
So,
you know, what else?
What else am I missing?
Patreon, it's coming very soon,
maybe even this week,
probably this week.
I think once it's airs,
it might even be out already.
But not,
we'll do another plug.
again thank you for everyone that's been supporting the podcast uh it's been helping me um it's the
fucking power and magic of music and and this thing man it's definitely pulled me out of some some
low points and it continues to do the work that nothing else can really can so uh thank you for
being a part of it thank you for helping us reach just this milestone
100,000 was definitely not a goal.
I was like, oh, let's just do that.
It's more like, yeah, let's just try not to quit.
Let's just try and have that best conversation is possible.
This is a big milestone.
It's weird even looking at it.
So it's pretty official.
And what's the next one?
Fucking a million?
Is that?
Is that what you're supposed to do?
A million?
I think that's the next goal.
A million.
We're going to get a million subscribers.
Yeah, a million is next.
A million's next.
I don't even think...
I'm trying to think back when we're...
It's started for a start.
I don't even think 100 was even a million.
I wonder what that looks like.
The thing about when I see numbers like this,
and this ties into like a...
Like the guitar, the pod, the band.
I think we can all relate to this.
It's not about that or this.
It's about the person you need to become for that to happen.
And it's who I am.
I know I'm not there yet, but the person I have to become to make that possible, it's scary.
It's, but I think we all deal with that.
A proving as a human, as a person, it's a thing.
something that we all deal with and deal with every day.
So when I see these numbers,
it's like the person I have, it's not, it's me.
It's in, it's in there somewhere just fucking chipping away bullshit.
It's, it's in there.
And that's exciting and terrifying at the same time.
But again, thank you for helping us get there.
Check out the coffee.
Check out my fucking soul fuel, rip fuel.
Thank you for, to our,
YouTube members again quick
again keep on a lookout I don't know
if that's going to last very much longer
because we're going to launch a Patreon
I'm going full on on
the Discord and live streams on that thing
so keep on a lookout for that
check out the merch
people have been buying the mugs or the
or the pine glasses that's cool
I love the hoodie
get a hoodie before summer to sleep in
or go to the gym and or go to a show with
or just or in case you want to support.
I'm the worst of plugging stuff in.
Check out the Suey podcast every Thursday.
We're here every Monday, obviously.
And anything else, Jay?
Did I miss anything?
No, I mean, there's a, you know,
just stick around for some awesome content with the Patreon.
There's stuff that happens before and after the pods,
and it's really great.
And I just had an idea, like,
I think people might want to see that.
So, yeah, I'm kind of excited.
Kind of nervous, I guess, of how people,
what people think about it if it's worth their time.
But I think it is.
I think it's pretty sick.
Sick.
Yeah, just that's the creative part that I can't wait to get to.
And then, yeah, just buy some stuff.
So we can keep the lights on.
And keep, keep showing up here and getting it.
Yeah, Jay needs some new shoes.
Yeah.
Low key.
All right, everyone.
Thank you for listening and watching.
And we will see you next week.
Appreciate it.
Later.
Keep chugging.
Yeah, we'll give a little fucking chug, actually.
I didn't know what?
I lied to you guys.
Yeah.
Yeah, we don't care.
You know what?
That was a...
Dude, how do you freaking come up with that?
Yeah, baby!
