Oh, my goodness.
People are hearing the chugs right now.
Man, what am I going to do for, uh,
for Valentine's Day?
I don't know.
Whenever,
whenever it came around,
it was always like,
I don't know, either.
I'm busy.
or the ladies busy
it's always hard to
it's going to sound cheesy
it's going to sound cheesy
but uh
every day
you got to show love to your
your woman or
married person or
every day
it's kind of like what we were talking about with the last guest
Jay like a treat every
keep treating it like it's the first date
do I still look at
my lady like it's the first date
just like it's a freaking
just
just a freaking purve
damn it's a freaking chick dude
it's a hot chick
just want to freaking
just grab them
dude that's
that is like wild
like being
um
oh it should probably do a proper intro
thank you for listening watching
I apologize in advance
if I'm a little bit more nasally
the old light flu got me
and I was laying in bed this morning
I'm like
am I gonna
show up or am I going to be a bitch
and keep playing in my bed
so this one's for all you
I'm glad I got up
it's like one of those sicknesses
where
is that the word sicknesses
where you
like when you wake up and you're in bed
like you feel terrible
terrible like your like your meat body is this like it's done but when you get up and you
shower you have like a warm shower your body kind of okay you have a healthy breakfast
you kind of get going um so i apologize in advance there's any choppy uh edits i might i might be
coughing throughout but again thank you for listening watching um valentine's day yeah um
it's not even on my subject manner but what is going going there uh
I remember being in junior high school or even sooner.
Like all you want,
all you wanted was just even attention from a,
from the opposite sex.
That's all you wanted.
Through a junior high and a high school,
I'm like, man, and now to be where I'm at now,
it's just, wow.
You know, when you're in high school,
you're just a loser.
You think no one likes you.
And then then you find someone, oh shit, they like me.
I like them.
Like, what a moment.
And I, man, all you wanted to, in high school, you just like, dude, what am I going to, what am I going to do it?
I remember freshman year in high school.
That's when I was dating somebody, eighth grade, ninth grade.
And then I didn't even think about it until, um, um, this.
it's not malice but i didn't even think about like sex really it was more like i'm just stoked to have
a cute girlfriend and then i remember like my friend uh telling me in freshman year like hey like
when you guys gonna when you guys gonna fuck i remember i didn't even think about it like
shit i don't know i guess when it happens and then i remember it it got on my head i'm like
am i am i supposed to do it now like and it kind of ruined like
like my relationship.
And then we ended up breaking up,
uh,
made away through freshman year.
It was a beautiful time when you're heartbroken, man,
you thought that the whole world is just like,
it's over.
But yeah,
it's Valentine's Day.
Treat.
So,
for, I guess for me,
the risk is sounding like a cheesy idiot.
Um,
treat every day like it's that day.
What's like the normal thing to do on,
on Valentine's Day?
Are you supposed to,
just bringing up some activities.
I'm curious what you're supposed to do.
The dinners.
Okay, so we got, according to AI,
which we're going to dive into throughout this episode,
a few things are going on.
Valentine's Day activities for 2006
range from romantic dinners and spa days
to creative workshops
like pottery,
or mom's say poetry. Pottery. That's kind of cool.
painting
oh cocktail
making classes
that's pretty cool
that's really cool
let's see
at home spa night
DIY
kind of light dinner
dude you can't beat
dude for real like
I love when this is a candle
is right there
just chilling like
when you have a dinner
and it's just
there's something about the candle
which actually why we have a candle
here every time
there's just something about it
I wonder
where that came from
but uh
man word of south
I don't know how this happened
we're now we're just in the fucking
talking about relationships right off the bat
it should
I guess for me I should probably work on this
like should be a more special time
I just treat my lady like it's just
the first date
like holy shit
it's a freaking hot chick
I just want to freaking make out
you know what's underrated
making out
that takes you right back
to high school. For me, it doesn't get old. That first kiss to the first kiss, there's a lot of
embarrassing moments there. Because you're learning it older. It's all about like the small moves and then
that will lead up to the kiss. But when you're in junior high and high school, you don't know
how to build up to the kiss. I remember that was some awkward times. But that's why, that's where we're
here. That is why we're here. Also, uh,
Let's just dive into it.
So the birthday of the podcast is February 15th.
So we hit five years officially, which is a trip.
Five years, man.
I would like to say.
And shout out to you, Alex, for being the first guest.
I saw him a few weeks ago.
And speaking of my lady, she always, like, will remind me of Alex.
Hey, do you have to talk to Alex?
You text them?
I'm always like, no.
I don't, I just forget living life.
And she would tell me, like, whenever he asked him to do something, like, he was always kind of, he was always there.
And then that is true.
If I ever deigned something, I would just text him or call him.
He would always just drive over.
And this particular, this was also in the evening.
I think the next day, the next morning, maybe even that night, he was flying to the Ukraine
to hang out with his woman.
But yeah, shout to Alex, always being there as a friend.
Man, five years.
I was, it was during, it was during COVID.
And in, I remember there was like some issues.
where we were in the inland empire, especially Corona,
there was like some fires going on.
I remember driving around up and down the freeway
and streets in Corona with my lady.
Just looking at like,
looking for used furniture places
and just trying to find like the best of like couches,
which is the ones we would end up having now.
And a fan of a very pleasant, innocent,
memories and I yes we uh we found some couches and got them I think we have a I
sent I I send you some photos again I apologize if I sound a little bit nasely but uh so this
was the if you're just over watching this is the garage this is my parents garage before
anything so it's it's a mess and uh I asked my parents if I could build a little
a temporary
endeavor and they were sweet
and let me do it
and then
so it was this first and then to what
it would eventually become
what's the next picture
me Alex Joan
and that's the couch
which is no that I was off the 15th freeway
right by In and Out Burger
um
it's the straw what
is it Maple Street right off Maple
um
Maple or
Surface Club. There is a really cool furniture outlet, which isn't there anymore. And we found
this couch. It was 320 bucks on sale. And it's this one right here. Still use it. And obviously,
it was still COVID. So we have the mask on. We still have the couch. And the people that
have sat on this couch, especially recently, it's pretty, it's pretty unbelievable, which I'll tell
which we'll tell you later who's in coming in next week and then uh what's the next one jay
just the following couch one i think's the next one and then another one up in kenley we
we found these ugly well i guess it's objective i guess this is my personal opinion hey jay
do you think these couches are ugly kind of got like grandma vibes yeah yeah so we found like
these white chairs and but but they're on sale though i think they're 50 bucks um the price tag is there
i don't is jake can you uh zoom in there yeah 49 99 and we bought both because uh cc told me that
you know you could like there's like there's uh what is it vinyl paint or you could like there's paint
specifically for a
I apologize
specifically for vinyl
I was like huh
I was worried like
if you spray paint something
oh like you'll sit on and they'll come up on you
or wear off and
nodded it worked
so 100 bucks for those two
chairs
and boom
took these outside fucking spray painting them
it was awesome
and still the one that I sit down
here today
made a lot of tough decisions here in this
4999
chair slash couch
pretty cool
what's what's the next one jare
we were we were at home depot quite often
which yeah was buying wood
that would be eventually the the table
here
it's painting it pretty sick
um was it
it was amazon
Amazon had like these weird
Like piping for tables
So it's like a really cool look
And yeah
I just do yourself paint it
Save money and I still
Still use it here
It's right here the uh
There's two connected
And um
Yeah jay found it boom
It's like this really cool piping
Kind of like like a rustic
It's actually might be the exact
Yeah this exact thing
yeah pipe leg
coffee table
DIY boom
same money
same money look cool
a little bit more time
and then I think the last
photo J is the subscriber account
I remember dude
when we when we crossed
episode 6
when we crossed 100 subscribers
holy shit
oh like damn dude this shit's just blowing up
holy shit
and during this whole process
I don't know if I ever talked about it,
but I never once used suicide silence.
Like,
nothing gets other guys,
but they have something going on.
They will always collab with the band,
social media.
And I was like,
you know what?
I want to avoid that.
Like,
I didn't make a post.
The band didn't make a post.
It wasn't even in the stories.
So it was just like,
like,
all right,
if I announced it at my personal one,
what's going to be the actual,
what's going to actually happen?
Like,
where am I?
I like knowing,
Well, I don't like it.
It kind of sucks, but knowing where you're at.
And so looking back, I'm glad I didn't.
I'm still very happy that I didn't use the band to kind of get like a little push, you know.
Alex was enough, you know, having a really great first guest.
We talked a lot of, we talked about Corona being on fire, recovery.
It was really cool.
so
I know some of you have
been there since the first episode
so that's
it's been five fucking years
dude five
there it says five years
boom
four years or five years
and my parents were episode seven
and I've been debating
if
uh
which Jake could probably help me with this
or all you I wonder if I should bring them back
because now I have like
that's me just not
shit I still don't know shit but it was like maybe having some kind of structure more like
structure and it was fun man it's hanging out with mom and dad um we kind of cool to have like
kind of like a part two you know so that's been in the back of my mind we might might might
bring him back remember my mom being a really great podcast guest I was like damn she's fucking
talking telling stories okay shit all right who knew who fucking knew but again that thank you for
the five years and here's to uh five more 10 more 20 more I don't know when am I going to
die when am I dying probably dying from the flu something like that but um cool move on to my uh
well well before we hit up the last subject uh how's uh how's jay doing good are you sick yet
Not yet.
I felt a little heavier, a little more sluggish, but that could just be fucking Thursday
happened to me.
Slugged up?
Yeah.
Slugging.
Slugging.
Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day?
Probably going to do the candlelit dinner.
Fuck, yeah.
You know, why go out and getting all that crowd and...
Yeah.
Yeah.
Probably hike in the day and make something nice.
Nice.
Hold hands.
Again, dude, like, just like the classic stuff holding.
I like making out holding hands.
I'll be lying to all of you.
I said I wasn't grabbing.
That's the purpose of being in a relationship.
I'm just going to, like, my girlfriend's right.
I'm just like that first date.
Well, cool.
I made a purchase and I want to talk about it
because kind of also ties.
into a future question
we have later
but uh oh it's on my chest
I did
I got the meta glasses
um
I got the Rayban
meta glasses
Gen 2
uh not Gen 1
and I'm very satisfied
with my uh
purchase
and I learned a lot
I went to Sunglass Hut
uh
at the
what's it called
I think it's called the block of Orange in Orange County somewhere.
And, yeah, I walked in and I was talking to the person that was helping me.
And they were very helpful.
They actually had the same glasses that I wanted.
Or the outlets at Orange, I'm sorry for my nasally.
Boom.
I knew I want it.
I'm going to walk in.
I'm buying the metal glasses.
It just depends on the style.
If the style was there, I'll buy them.
I wanted the matte black, large wayfair.
Is how you say it?
Wayfair?
And that's what I got.
Boom.
Pretty crazy.
I got the last pair, and I was going to go at night because there's less traffic.
But for some reason, I came here.
I'm like, you know what?
I'm going to go in the morning.
I don't know why.
I feel like going in the morning.
Sure enough.
It was the right call.
When I walked in, there was an older gentleman.
I want to say older.
I mean, probably like late 40s, probably.
And he was trying on like Oakley's, Raybans.
But he wanted like the meta thing.
And then the person helping him was like, yeah, we just got two yesterday.
And he's always sell out.
This particular pair always sells out.
Like, okay.
I mean, I want him.
Let's just buy them.
I was in there from looking to, I'm buying these was less than a few minutes.
And it turns out, which I didn't know, which I mean, that we got to get into the technology that's happening because, you know, me being there, I was asking, I was basically podcasting them, just asking them all these dumb questions.
And I got a lot of answers.
so anyway I was like okay I want them I'm gonna buy him
turns out they were the last pair and then out of nowhere
the gentleman next to me was like oh no I want I want the pair he has
and I could sense this energy being mad
that I was literally taking the last pair right right next to him
like well you got to know what you want man I walked in I knew what I wanted
and all of a sudden he sees the he sees that they're desired
And it's funny how that awakens something, right?
In you?
Like if he's,
when there's like the scarcity there,
I think he realized that he fucked up.
That I got the last pair.
And I didn't know until the gentleman showed me that was helping me.
Oh, yeah,
their,
the lenses are transition.
So they're,
so inside,
they're cleared and outside.
They turn into sunglasses.
I'm like,
what the fuck?
Like two glasses and one?
I don't fucking know that.
So that was a really cool thing that he shared with me.
I was like, I didn't know I was paying for this, which is, that's a plus.
I also didn't know that they had speakers in them.
There's little speakers in the end.
Do you imagine to sponsor the pot?
I'm supporting it hard right now.
So I don't know that.
So that's a big plus.
I was just buying slowly for the camera.
And so since he works there, I guess he has some more.
intel about what they have coming in
or what they're planning to do
and from what he tells me
I'm not saying I'm 100% right
but from what he was telling me when I was
with the
answering my questions
so he said they're trying
they're treating the glasses
meta is treating glasses like iPhones
and they're pushing technology
on these things
extremely aggressively.
So again, it might not be
Gen 3, but he's saying
for Gen 3, they're trying to make it
to where the inside
of the lenses are
screens, which is
insane. So they're trying to make it to wear
basically like a phone.
So you could basically do all your business
while wearing the glasses. I was like,
there's, wow.
If that's true,
I think this is the first step
This is like legitimately
Like the
I think this is the only thing
That could rival
The iPhone
So so we're looking
I tested meta
Meta's display glasses
So it's already a thing
Yeah it's probably some prototypes
They're trying to make this
A fucking screen in there
So it says display glasses
Some kind of a prototype
we're looking at.
Dude, if this happens,
this is like the legit,
I think I,
right now,
I think this is the real next step
to having,
I mean,
will you still need your phone at this point?
I mean,
do you still need a phone?
I don't know.
I mean, this is like,
once I heard that,
that's probably what could really rival the iPhone.
So it's kind of cool
to get some Intel.
there
but think about it
this is on your fucking face dude
this is directly
almost on your eyeball
and soon this is gonna be normal
this is gonna be normal
all this shit is gonna be
normal then once that's normal
what's next
or how do we get the screen
in their fucking skull man
like straight up black mirror shit
like
I think this is a really a big step
good or bad I don't know
It's kind of funny that
I own these glasses
because when I first came out
and I'm like,
that's creepy.
There goes privacy
and here I am.
I own them.
And most importantly,
the most important thing
about these glasses,
I'm just going to show you.
I put them on in front of my lady
and she approved.
So once she approved,
that I don't look like a fucking idiot.
I'm like, oh, that's,
I got the final.
It does feel weird wearing glasses
knowing that I don't need glasses,
but I can't say exactly why I got him,
but a couple reasons.
I mean, you could kind of maybe make some guesses
based on what I do with the podcast.
I'm trying to film some cool shit.
I did test them out on the last guest.
So you'll probably be seeing something.
Let's see.
So we're talking.
Valentine's Day
You should be seeing something
in the next two weeks
I'm gonna edit it
See how it looks
And then I'll approve from there
Yeah you might see something last week
A February 1st 5 May March
I'm some psycho shit I'm trying to do with the glasses
But it's cool
They film in 4K or I guess
Technically
3K
But it's still like
Dude looks fucking awesome
You could take photos
Um
When you
press record for a video.
I'm not this
light starts to flash, which is annoying.
So
what people are doing is they're going on Amazon
and buying these little things that covered
the LED light, which is what I did.
But I think
this is, I'm not
the problem.
I know people are going to take advantage of the privacy
issue and stuff. I'm just doing it for like this.
I'm fucking 40 years old, dude.
I just want to film
podcast shit
and then that's it
but other people who know us
but they're fucking filming
I mean that's
pretty normally
so yeah these
these glasses are really cool
um
one thing I didn't like
was
um
some privacy stuff
there was a few
you had to download the app
and I recall
allowing some stuff
that I wouldn't normally allow
because I'm not
unlike the cloud or anything
like I'm an iPhone
but I don't use it
to cloud just because i guess i'm kind of worried um but these remember like you had to give them
access to my photos which i'm in the hide but this one one more thing but other than that um
pretty pretty fucking sick dude pretty sick i was planning to buy two of them like one clear and
then one for outside but it's really cool they have the transition uh option so yeah you'll be seeing
some weird shit pop up
on the old social media
and then
I uh
I had to return some
Wi-Fi stuff to
to spectrum
curiosity is looking
I like to see where technology is at
like I went to look at iPhones
and I was looking at
the Google phone and it looked pretty
it looks identical
but
I was like shit
I wonder what it
I know the iPhone is a thing.
I know it's convenient.
In my mind for years it's been closed off
why you can't compete with the iPhone,
but I wonder where it's going.
Because now, you know,
what's going to work better with glasses?
Is it going to be an iPhone?
Is it going to be the Google phone?
Which we're all on Google anyways.
Searching for our dark art.
So I wonder where it's going.
going, dude.
There's a few things.
Dude, right off the
Baptist 26, I just hit me.
Like, my belief system's been pretty like,
oh, shit.
First I said no.
Now I'm like, oh, I'm wondering where it's going.
Pretty sick. Well, yeah, shout out to you.
I have many glasses.
We'll see,
we'll see where this goes.
Uh, yeah.
Uh, Jay, should we pop into some, uh, questions?
Let's do it.
This episode's brought to you by Scotty's.
Scotty's tissues
shout out to Tylenol
I don't like using
pain pills
but this is solely for the podcast
this is for you guys
okay first one
oh whoops
I forgot it but I remember
it's name Captain clincher
a really cool question
what
what's your experience with drums
I think I have the mind of a drummer.
Do you think about drums first?
Like I always drawn the drums for people.
Everyone thought I was going to play drums.
Because my dad, his band would rehearse in the garage,
which is the garage, same picture you were looking at.
That room has a lot of history.
and being in diapers, like watching, uh, I mean, it was a text mex.
So you're, they had like keyboards a mass.
They had a fucking massive PA system in there.
Like it's like it covered that that whole wall.
It was nuts.
And the drummer.
Um, I remember the, remember the guitar player Robert Ripper played a Fender Strat.
Um, the bass player that's all watch him play.
And then, um.
then drummer giving me like a practice pad of some sticks and I was you know banging on pasta pans in the kitchen so I thought uh so maybe I was attracted to uh to drums first and then um well I think we all are right we're all drawn to the E kit when we see E kit like when everyone everyone sees the E kit they're like oh you know what I think I could play drums I think I could I could play drums it makes you sound so
good too
like there's something about the e kit like
no matter who you are like you can sound
pretty uh pretty decent
always been drawing the drums
always
um the big
I mean a massive piece to new metal
is the drums very unique drumming
um
remember back in a day
on eBay I bought a
I bought a DVD
Fuck, oh man, you guys
You guys are gonna talk shit to me
What is his name?
Used to play drums for chimera
Dian Fetus
Kevin Talley
I'm sorry, I'm sick
I apologize, my brain's not firing
right now
He had a
A DVDs
He was sold on eBay, I bought it
It was like had a blast beat
At the time
the high school I wanted to learn how to blast
beat so I learned
through him and watching
the DVD. Yeah, this is it. I had it.
I bought this
motherfucker and
it was really cool like
him breaking down
you know you gotta match the kicks
and you match the kick with the ride
and then he switched the ride from the bell to
the other part of the ride. I was like oh shit
so you do that first for a while was matching the kicks in the ride
then you put the snare in between that
I was like oh shit
that's how you get that fucking sound
so that's the one thing I could do on drums for a long time
just a solid blast beat
just a solid
just European
blast beat I show up
quick shout out to Kevin Talley
I wonder if you still find him
it helped me dude like
you're a drummer i mean i would say get it i mean i mean i mean i was a i mean yeah i couldn't play guitar
even but that should help me like learn some drum beats man pretty sick so yeah uh captain clencher
thank you for your question i think we could uh i think we could uh think we just freaking move
move on oh oh all right h this is from h walker eat walker eat
11.08.
What was
what was or what were
the emotions you were going through
in your life while writing
the cleansing? Nice. Now these
questions like this never get old to the answer.
It's always like,
depends where I'm at
in the day.
You could
go down different
pathways, but
what were the emotions?
I was pissed. Those pissed off a little kid.
I stole it from corn, man
Like not
Treating rifts
Not as
Like a technical aspect
But more of like what are you feeling
And uh
Of course at the time
I mean this didn't exist
Like there's
I wasn't
I don't know
What you call me right now
A host
But uh
So at the time
I mean
Yeah I wasn't talking
At all
At all
I was a very mute kid
Um
But this was like
I just whatever I wanted to say
I figured out
How to I guess put it
Made the guitar of my own language
Um
With what I was feeling
Because I couldn't write lyrics either
Definitely it was always very feeling based
Very emotion based
Pist
Um
unconsciously
channeling some
childhood trauma
which I think is what music
actually is
channeling whatever
I haven't processed
in my life
and also at the same time
it was fun
like it was so
it was so fun
there's no
you know
we weren't like
not being put
through the ringer yet
of the music industry
not completely
fucked over
and lose all your money
just
I guess more of like an innocent time
which will never happen again
just pure
pure emotion
hate love
why rejected abandonment
dealing with my abandonment issues
um
might be the main
emotion just like that abandonment issue
um
when you're a kid man you just
you're just fucking sad all the time
you're depressed
and you don't know how to process it so I'm very lucky
in an aspect where I found music to
whatever I was feeling
I was able to channel
but man it was fun
probably the only
it is sad to look back
it'll never happen again
no too much
been fucked over too much
too much money lost
innocent friends also
so I guess also not being selfish
looking towards the other guys
they're also having fun and dealing with their own
life and issues and
channeling that as well
their own insecurities
remember also when
like man when you were like
when something would hit
because we're jamming garbage.
Like we're talking like you're in a garage.
Just hammering out riffs.
A lot of blasting.
But man, when something would stick and hit,
it was just like this.
How would you explain?
How would I explain it?
You just knew when it was like,
okay, this feels good.
This like feels right.
Not caring what the.
riff was like this feels okay this feels right to play it this way and keeping it that way i'm not sure
what happened to that uh mindset or feeling but uh when we will play a breakdown and it hit
it was like oh this is this is different it was like just playing this heavy shit in the
fucking garage it's it just so yeah i haven't like i haven't i haven't i haven't heard this before
this is this is different and i'm always fascinated by that fine line
of confidence and illusion.
Because, uh, yeah, death, they're out, they're out this whole journey.
I met some delusional people.
It's like, man, what was that back then?
Like, I don't know.
Like, music definitely did help me feel very confident as well.
You know, give me some confidence, talk to some chicks here and there, you know,
you know, is, so that might have helped me out there.
But it was just an innocent feeling, too.
All of it. I guess you could say all of it.
Hate, love, insecurity,
trauma, evil, heaven.
It was all there.
It has it all.
It was definitely very emotion-based.
But yeah, I appreciate your question.
Thank you for that.
Oh, yeah, this is, all right, here we go.
Here we go.
All right, this is from Patrick Allen.
Yep.
Got it.
Okay, what do you think
What do you think the future
A metal holds?
Will AI take it over?
I kind of waited
because I know a lot of people
kind of touching on this.
Will AI take over?
I don't know.
I think it's way too soon to tell.
I think
eventually it's going to be a part of the music.
Eventually it is.
I mean, it's already happening in pop.
It's just a matter of time before it comes over here.
And I think,
I think what the future holds, really,
um,
it's weight with AI and music.
I think it's going to happen.
And it's going to be so subtle,
just like everything else,
like the cell phone,
like everything else,
it's going to be subtle.
And you're not even going to know.
Like you're not even going to know or even at that point care.
So I'm like
I'm like
When
When is this
When is this going to happen?
I think it's going to start being very subtle
I think people are also
overly focused on things that don't matter
Like
People get pissed when someone uses AI for some artwork
Or something like you're looking at the wrong shit dude
Like they're going to figure out ways
That this is going to be in the music
and you're not even going to know.
You're not even going to know.
I'm not going to know.
Shit, I was reading something yesterday
how they're, I mean, they're close to the fucking robot.
I think they have one million robots on deck,
AI robots.
So,
I'm obviously not going to be part of
the first wave.
But there's been a lot of people that fucking have robots.
Dude, what, what's the future?
there's robots going to fucking start riding music, who knows?
But I think we've been connected with technology for a long time.
I mean, technically like a guitar is what?
That's not exactly flesh.
You know, there's some electronics in there and some futuristic shit in there.
I mean, I have, you know, a quad cortex in front of me.
That's, that's, that's, that's, uh, technology.
We've been, the purpose of, of this thing in front of me is, uh, what am I feeling?
this is going to help me put it in the computer
and this is going to come out to speakers for people to hear
and then you're going to hear it, you know, whatever.
My opinion, it doesn't matter on it,
but it's going to come out through their phone, their phone,
I wish it was their speakers,
but I mean, that's, this is technology, this is the future.
And it's helping me express my soul and my feelings.
So it's weird, so it's already happening.
And it's like this little subtle.
And this is just this.
You know, where's this going?
So AI is going to figure out a way to express human soul.
And when that happens, dude, like, no one's going to fucking tell.
It's already helping it.
It's already happening.
I mean, for music, I like personally, for music, I like to look at other things.
Because eventually if it happens here, there, it's going to have.
in music like um i mean i really try to avoid cat videos dude like um so i don't even know
that's real anymore i'll pop in i'm like um it's getting a ton of fucking shares like
thousands of shares thousands of comments i'm like you there needs to be some
responsibility like if you're sharing this and you're showing your friends this you're
comedy on it you're just
what's that word you're just like
you're just putting it out there you're like
like you can't hate AI
but you're just promoting it so hard
like dude that just there's something I can do
with guitar that's going to get
that amount of sharing
but someone else could do an AI
bullshit and then
shares so you're just kind of like
perpetuating
what you say you don't want or don't like
but so it's just
so people are it's already becoming normal
so once that happens
it's already happening
to music with a pop and stuff and
they're going to figure it out of way
dude we're talking glasses
robots
I mean the amp technology is insane
I think it's gonna be
but yeah gun to my head
I think it's gonna be subtle
and no one by the time it happens
no one's even going to fucking care
it's gonna be so far
I've had conversations
about this out in the world.
I'm like, I wonder if playing live is just going to, I wonder if it's going to be like
a circus, you know, like, oh, you're going to see a band because you're celebrating a certain
moment of time.
So depending on your perspective, I can either be really depressing or they can be like, oh shit,
I saw the future.
Like people are going to watch live band solely for like, this is a moment in time before
the robots and AI took over.
no matter what I hope
the live shows continue
and this is going to be like a
it's going to be like a circus
it's going to be like a
like a like a like a like a
Las Vegas show
you go there because of all the history
seeing like Santana
like you're
gotta see it
man where's it going
where's it going
it ain't stopping
but yeah man
appreciate your question
trying not to dive too far
into the AI stuff
but uh it's going
and it's evolving so fast, dude, like, who knows?
Yeah, thank you for a question.
Next one, AC Ray Reeves.
Is that a J? you think?
AC, right?
Yeah.
Cool.
Chris, what's the hardest riff you ever played?
I thought about that.
I don't think people will like my answer, but I think...
So two riffs popped up first.
in my brain.
And this,
I mean,
I guess I could just play it,
probably.
I don't mind sounding like shit,
uh,
in public,
but,
so I'm gonna,
so this particular riff,
um,
this tells me right out of the gates
if I'm sucking,
or,
yeah,
this is a good day.
This is a really good day.
And to play it right is,
uh,
I probably never played it right before.
It's a riff that I struggle with doing.
How are you supposed to pick it?
How are you supposed to play it?
And so, like, the riff as a whole.
I can't play it, right?
But I think maybe I could just play it,
and maybe you could guess it.
Everyone's going to know.
But this riff, for me, it's like,
it's such a, it tells me really quickly where I'm at in my plane.
Like, if I'm warmed up, if I'm not,
if I'm going to play, like, shit later.
But playing it, how you're supposed to play it at the speed is why I picked this riff.
Doing headphones on.
And am I going to play it fast or slow?
Fuck, I don't know.
All right.
And that's he.
That riff fucks me up, dude.
I think it's one of the best riffs written all the time as well.
Because you got the downpicking.
you have multiple strings
you have the fingers going up
going down you're using your pinky
it says everything
it's just everything in one riff
and uh
shout out to what james had feel for
probably writing that riff
I still
um I haven't played a riff in a while though
but
it just fucks me up
like my brain is can't like
but he's downpicking the whole thing
and it's going crazy
crazy fast so I'll try to
speed up for you.
The worst riff, the warm up riff, oh, warm up with as well, my goodness, that's a dumb idea.
But that riff is every time, it's the hardest riff.
I still can't.
Even if you do it, if I do it slow, I can't.
Yeah, warms up the right hand.
fingers, the chugging,
the right hand, all at the same time.
It's a timeless, hard riff.
So that'll be my number one
pick.
Jake, can you play that riff?
That's Master Puppets.
Oh, yeah.
It also works out your brain, too,
which very rarely do I
use my brain, but that's a rare time where
got to get to
That just gets the juices flowing.
And for me to play that correctly, it takes me a while.
I'm probably playing guitar for at least 30 minutes of just like chill shit.
So going straight into it is like almost like impossible.
I'm probably doing that for a while.
Just filling my fingers on the strings and then I'll try to work my way up there.
Play some Fear Factory or something.
And once I feel comfortable there, then I'll go to Master of Puppet.
and it's just get annihilated.
But it's been a rare few times when I'm like,
oh shit, I hit it.
I did it.
But it's,
it's rare.
You know what?
Now, this,
this reminds me,
I should really relearn that riff,
like,
just really hammer it down.
Cool.
Yeah, shout out two of that riff.
And in the set,
uh,
no pity pissing me off.
It's still,
like,
after
after so many years
because my weakness
but also why I let the rip prior
my weakness is my
pinky
like really getting
really getting my pinky focused
and like articulate
and really getting that note to come out
like my pinky is just like
it's been a very
it just
it's been pissed me off
really but
I mean
It sounds easy, but once you do it, it's like, oh shit, it's kind of weird.
So you have like the, yeah, the triplet with the speed picking, and it's all on my pinky, and I fucking hate it.
So here's the riff.
Yeah, I don't know what it is, but the going from the triplet to the speed picking just fucks me up.
And it's all, and it's all on the pinky still for this reason.
When that song comes on, I'm like, no.
Can we just skip it?
Please not play this song ever again.
harmony all then it goes then it's those two back to back i'm like why again it's more pinky
and uh god just so back to back though it just fucks me i guess it's one like it just feels like one big riff
and that's the so to me it doesn't feel like two riffs it feels like one big riff that's the hardest
riff ever i fucking hate that i hate that riff but also love at the same time it's like a
i don't know it's like you're just waiting for the end i'm waiting for the end i'm waiting for the end
because once the chugs come in i'm like okay this is what i've been waiting for and this all makes sense because
you're building towards this uh whoops building towards this really a big moment but the yeah so it's like one big riff
fucking dog yes like that together i oh my fucking it pisses me off never i i wish that song didn't
exist but it's a it's a massive song so kind of we're just waiting for the fucking outro
tuggy tone going
See that's
See that's my style
So those
I guess you would say
What is that two riffs
Two three riffs
Hardest riffs ever
And you know one day dude
I'm actually gonna
20 years later
I'm gonna sit down
Actually really execute
No pity
It's kind of been on my
To-do list
But it's just a fucking
It's a bitch dude
But gotta play it
I cannot play it
It's, I guess you could say, I don't know, iconic song.
But, yeah, A.C., thank you for the thoughtful question.
You got that time for one more?
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, I have a nice, I think I have a fresh perspective on this.
I'm not sure if people are going to like it or not, but we'll go into it with my sick brain.
Okay, how do you say this name, Jay?
I'm gonna say Zaccano
Oh nice
Zichano
9942
Metallica or Megadev
Okay so
When I saw this
My mind went here
I mean it's
They're two different bands
Like you're talking like
They're just
I always thought it was kind of like
unfair
to
Man
man what would i do about was damestine would i be a fucking asshole too um they're two different
bands like you can't even like i mean i guess they're both thrash but they're just different
they made their own lane i mean how many people have broken off one band and literally
they're successful it's a rare thing man and uh i i
really don't like the comparison to Metallica because
you can't compare
anyone to them. They're number one.
So when people say Megadeth is number two, I'm like, yo,
everybody's number two.
No one's ever going to like achieve
that. Like that's fucking
Metallica is one of the biggest bands on the planet, dude.
Like that's like
you can't compare anyone to them.
So, so when you say Megadeth
is number two and
Damien sucks, I'm like, what, what do you
saying about everybody else.
So I also thought that was kind of weird.
It's unfair.
Because compared to Metallica,
we're all number two.
A far, far
number two.
And I remember I was thinking like,
that's why I'm being very like
emotionless and ejective because
I have a past with this band
being kicked off a fucking tour.
But it's all good.
When was it?
It was, wow,
I was, when was this?
At this point, probably been a couple years ago.
Megadeth was,
they were playing the five-point amphitheater here in Irvine,
which is gone now.
I mean, Irvine is Kent.
Keep a venue.
It sucks.
It was a really cool vibe there.
I remember I was watching Meda.
They were doing a headlining tour.
And then, um,
Davey had his, you know, white shirt on.
I remember watching him
and then leaving him like
damn I mean this is like
sometimes you get reminded
like oh shit I mean
this is like a legendary moment
or you're watching legends play
like Damon's saying
he became
regardless of your opinion about him
or if he's an asshole or not
I don't know
I was watching him
I actually began to really appreciate
the band
and how far he fucking took it
It's a, I'm in an amphitheater.
Well, there's fucking 10,000 people, 10,000 plus people there.
Like, oh shit, I mean, you're, like, that's his failure, I guess, I could say is everyone else's success.
It's like wild how far he took it.
Like, wild.
Like, regardless what people think about them as a person, like, that's, where how big that band got.
Pretty fucking gnarly, dude.
Really, it's impressive.
for a band to break out
I mean that big I mean you're talking
it's only a handful of bands so
yeah I never like anyone
being compared to Metallica
everyone is everybody
is number two
we're looking at AI
Megadeth has sold over
50 million records worldwide
I mean
throughout their five decade
career
five decades
wow
five fucking decades
that is
That is unbelievable.
Wait, Jay, is that, is that Billboard thing true?
The, oh yeah.
The latest album, debut number one.
What the, I'm just figuring this out.
Their, their 20206 self-titled final studio album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
What the fuck?
Wow.
Nice way to go out.
That's a great way to go out.
Dude.
I mean, yo.
that is great
I mean
Middle Bank do that
That's fucking wow
17th
17th studio album
Damn
Wow that is
Okay so I guess we could talk about this
So
People have been deeming me
Have you heard the
The Ride the Lightning
song
I did so this morning I came in here
Sick as fuck
You know what
I'm going to I'm going to jam it.
Because I don't want to have an opinion on it or say anything without even listening because that just makes me an asshole.
So I jammed it.
I'm like, okay.
Let the intro came on.
Okay.
This is cool.
I mean, because people are telling me that it sucks, but that's just the internet.
So you can't really put too much there.
Like, I'm not sure what people expect.
Like how do you
It's tough because you're going into it
With expectations
That that's
Which have a probably like a 100% fail rate
I mean for what it is it's fine
I'm not sure you really can't go into this expecting
Anything
I mean what'd you call this a cover
Is it not a cover
Yeah you wouldn't call it a cover
Yes so this part came on
I was like, okay
I think they did a good job on the guitar tone
yeah dude
I mean do redoing a song
I mean
I don't know what you expect
maybe that might be my age
but I kind of go into it knowing like
oh it's this
this isn't right the lightning dude
like
I think it's more like maybe like
a
more like a celebratory moment
head going out
this script kind of started a lot
let's fucking
record it
I think it's unfair to kind of listen to it and just say it sucks.
But this is actually really smart.
This is how I view it.
Robert Anthony 90, 979, he says,
I'm glad both versions exist and both bands exist.
Straight up.
I mean, would you want this version not to exist?
Man, I mean, Damon Stain has so much history in the metal scene.
You're like, you can't take it away from him.
I mean, that's coming from me.
You got fucking kicked off that tour.
But it was a fun time, man.
It was a fun time.
But I was going to say a shout out to Megadef, man.
50 years, finally number one record.
Amazing.
Cool.
I think we're ready to freaking move on.
That's it, huh?
Woo!
Okay.
This might be time for...
Man, it might be time for...
had her shot
so
last time
you know
came in here
wrote a riff
that morning
I played it
for all you
um
this morning
I did the same thing
you know
I'm not gonna be
a freaking bitch
you
I'm gonna
play guitar right now
regardless
how I feel
which says a lot
I mean
that's kind of
what you're supposed
to do to be honest
sometimes you don't feel
a certain way
but man
you gotta
you gotta do it man
so
last time and this time are similar oh there's my timer it's working all right garza chill out um
timer's working it's good um so similar to last time the first thing i flew out is what you heard
and i'm going to try it again right now um yeah i had like a couple riffs uh back to back so yeah
this is hot or shot so uh this one last one this one
The last rip I felt pretty good about this one I don't know.
So this is very,
I mean, we'll see.
All right.
Okay.
What's up with my gate?
Cool, all right.
This is hotter shot.
This is like you're in bed.
You don't want to get up.
You're sick.
And you just kind of get up.
Hot or shot.
Actually, I had a clean part too.
I was doing.
Um, I got
I got a fucking drumbeat going.
Should you try it or no?
Yeah, try it.
All right.
New metal style.
All right, what, what's this?
I matched your tempo, so.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, kind of like a,
kind of reminds me like a black label society.
Black label society goes fucking death core is pop, dude.
Chunky.
You know what that mean?
Just you guys get the,
full rig
before you judge it
part
probably shot
I probably lost you guys
alright let's try this
and then I was jamming this a little bit
you know I'm going clean
you already know
and I was like
jazz we kind of run on the same frets
