Hey.
Hey.
Happy New Year's.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year.
It's begun.
Nice.
Distopped.
First of all, they have good rhythm because they're bouncing on cue with the song.
That's an undeniable flow state.
It's Sharon and Cradlefield's Danny Phil.
They're about to collab.

No
Should I go over here? Oh
I usually do a decent job with this
Hey
Hey
Yeah, we go happy New Year's happy new year
Happy New Year it's begun nice
Do the year pass around the champagne
Oh yeah yeah
Cheers
It is
we're going to pretend that it's
23
23 yeah 23
we're having champagne at
1130 a.m.
I mean
it's the only way to do it
is it is it am or p.m.
It's a it's a.
So you're supposed to drink champagne in a.m.
and actually turns on
your brain neurons
which is which actually increases
focus
and longevity.
Really? Yeah.
Oh.
Is there a
certain amount.
He said scholars maintain.
The amount is as much as possible.
Oh, cool.
So then we're doing it right.
Yeah.
Cool.
So I think we should hide that that thing right.
Yeah.
They didn't pay, man.
They didn't,
they can't get on.
Cheers.
Cheers, guys.
Cheers.
Thank you.
This lovely morning.
Yep.
Turn on our focus.
So Jerry,
thank you for being a part of
episode. Pleasure. Real honor, honestly. Yeah, Jerry's going to be pulling up current events,
pulling up things in real time. Pulling it up. Just don't. Just don't fuck up and everything's good.
You know? For sure. I was thinking this week, which I think this is a time where we could kind of
look back at our lives and the past year. And I was thinking like, and what was like the most
memorable part of 2022?
to. So Zach, what was your most memorable moment of this past year?
Most memorable. That's a tough one. Probably one of the most fun ones, to be honest,
was doing that multi-cam live video that we did for you guys at Chaos and Carnage. I thought
that was pretty amazing. Yeah, I mean, like, it was fun because it was hectic. You know,
like sold out venue, 2,000 people, six cameras, and like, crows. And, like,
crowd was going nuts.
And I was in the photo pit filming, so I was, like, in the middle of it.
Yeah.
And I don't know.
It was just fun.
It was like an adrenaline rush for sure.
Great.
Yeah.
Well, dude, that's awesome to hear that one of your best moments of the year was with us.
That's cool, man.
Yeah.
No, for sure.
That's the one that stands out.
It's badass, dude.
Holy crap.
Yeah.
Jerry, what was your most memorable moment?
You know what?
I'm actually proud to say that they keep happening.
you know like this is definitely one you know genuinely for sure yeah um but uh i i got to mention uh
we got a puppy we got a puppy this year oh nice yeah my wife really wanted one and she when we
fell in love with this little chihuahua mix creature thing and she's she's the best and yeah
she's great she powers us through the day so that's cool yeah i mean there's a bunch though i mean i like
Just, I made a film for Calais at LA.
That's awesome.
Graduated.
And then, like, just being here with you guys, it's definitely a highlight for sure.
That's sick.
What a way to close out the year.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
Wow.
Creating cool stuff.
Creating art.
The best way to do it, right?
It is.
Yeah.
My most memorable moment, Zach was actually there.
Oh.
Yeah, it was at the House of Blues Henna.
when we played that show it was the chaos and carnage tour obviously with the lorne shore and corn effects and that was uh it was after the show where because if you sell out that venue you get a skateboard where you should just hit me right now should have brought the fucking skateboard but uh it's fun uh so you get like a skateboard and that's what and that's what you see so if you walk in the house was anaheim you see all these skateboards along the ceiling and wall it's from bands that uh sold it sold it out so when you sell it out you get it
free skateboard. It's really cool.
It's crazy. We have the same
exact memory. That's so funny.
It's nuts. Yeah, it really is.
And then shows over, obviously.
It was great. Everyone did awesome.
Yeah.
And then we could hand it via
skateboards. It was like,
I started to cry.
It was just because
where we've been kind of coming from, you know,
like our last
I mean, our last time
just closing the show
in Zokow, like,
was right before the pandemic.
We're just trying to get over this self-titled fucking pump.
And we were,
we played a venue called Sly Bar.
Yeah.
If you're not aware,
a Sly Bar,
it's like,
obviously it's a bar.
And it's,
the capacity is under 100 people.
Right.
And now it's the only place that we could play.
Because,
yeah,
we were,
we were struggling.
And,
So to go from that to a few years later to do that,
you go from 100 people and people talking shit about your band,
which I was, I don't know, people still do, it's fine.
But then to go from 100 people to almost 2,000,
I was like, what the fuck, man?
That was such a special moment, I think, man.
I felt it that day too.
Yeah.
It was just building.
It was like, oh, my, you know, we all,
it's hard for us, I think, to keep up with our own lives.
and kind of look back at what you done.
And I was like, man, it kind of all builds up to that moment.
That was my favorite moment of last year.
Yeah, that's awesome.
I had so much fun that night, too, like so many good hangs, like seeing everyone.
I saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen in, you know, a couple of years.
And like I said, I had a bunch of awesome people on the camera team that all worked their ass off that day and killed it.
Mel.
Mel, it's great.
Yeah, Mel, Daniel, all those guys.
They killed it.
they were there all day you know what i mean so shout out to all of them for making that possible for
sure yeah and uh yeah man it's legendary you got a skateboard in the house of blues anaheim like
that that's such a big honor for sure yeah i think people don't realize how big of a deal that is because
it's like cemented into history like the house of blues is like a legendary venue yeah and the anaheim
you know branch of it is like one of the biggest ones in the world so it's crazy man what a
It's huge.
It's been a crazy year, man.
It's been, you know, and what a way to close it out with you guys and, you know,
starting its thing, it felt very alone and had like a team now by smart people.
You know, it's been like, damn, like, Zach is a part of it now.
Zach the kid, you know.
It's cool, man.
It took it.
And you took this thing to a whole different level, you know.
And it all started on, you,
walking in the garage while I was running on my treadmill.
Yeah, that's crazy.
Started from there and now we're here, man.
It's crazy.
It's crazy how life,
but you have like these questions in your mind
that you don't necessarily ask people
or don't really know,
but you kind of, you know that back then,
you know, it's like, we're talking,
but I was like,
I was kind of debating the idea of like,
I need help, I need someone to bring someone on the team.
Yeah.
And we talked,
but there was not like,
it wasn't like hey you want to work for the podcast it was just like but yet life will like if you
have these I I believe if you think things enough that you will be presented with things
in front of you that might be a little bit too woo-woo for for some people and I completely
understand that but for me it was like very true like I had these thoughts of I need help dude
you need help and I was presented literally it's funny that things will show up right in front
your fucking face dude and like he's like he was like uh oh where's i need where's where's my answer
you know it's just like it'll be like boom right in your fucking face and i sure i talk to you you're
right on my face and i didn't even think about it yeah then and then sure enough i think i sent you
like a random text or something yeah and it was funny because i was like really trying to get into
podcasts like that was like a goal of mine you were talking about sorry in a podcast yeah hey jerry
can we get a little bit yeah thanks man it's a trip yeah it was nuts it was like the timing couldn't
have been more perfect.
Like you said,
like sometimes things
just kind of fall
into place and life.
You don't even ask for it.
It just kind of happens.
Yeah,
it's such a trip, dude.
Yeah, it's nuts.
Basically,
I text Zach Stain,
save me.
I'm drowning.
I was like,
I'm happy to help.
Like, you know,
like,
this is what I do 24-7
I'm around cameras,
so I love it.
That's badass, dude.
You know.
Appreciate that,
Jerry.
Yes.
Yep.
Oh, sure.
Thanks, man.
Appreciate, Jerry.
Yeah, this thing has come
long way man it has it's insane and my i was thinking about so i had that personal moment that was my
you know best moment of last year and then i had like a podcast moment which was when it was
when we're talking to glambeton and uh you know how it was like it almost didn't happen like
it happens you know people either day of postpone or cancel it's it's very common yeah so that's
why I don't announce guests
ahead of time. Because it's just
it's so, you just don't know.
And, you know, like at the
usual, like, you know, it might not
oh, you know, I'm doing this, he's doing that,
he's busy. I was like, oh,
oh, shit, dude, you can suck by, you know,
I was persistent. And to his credit, too, he was
very vocal. We're texting back and forth pretty much
than their entire day. He was very
communicative. Is that, is that a word
communicative? Yeah. It is now. Fuck it.
Yeah, it is. And it got to, like, kind of like the last
like oh shit it doesn't happen soon like the show's going to start and pretty much it's not going to happen
we were hitting that wall we were almost there yeah and then he was having a meeting at hooters uh
and we went all places and we drove to the target right by hooters and went inside of starbucks and
sat there for i don't know how long he sat there and just kind of waited if we got the text we're going to go
straight there it was like 45 minutes at least yeah yeah and we just sat there and waited
just in case and sure enough got the text you know I'm ready and then we fucking got there in less than five minutes came came back here and what's so fucking heart is that you that conversation was already extremely difficult but you don't want to have the conversation before the conversation yeah so it's like how do I navigate the not talking too much how do I navigate the car ride yeah you know it's like little things in like the in like the back of my head I'm like how do we
I don't know what's going on.
You're like, I'm going to just to bump Dick Dale.
That was a good move, honestly.
That was Loki, a smart move.
Dude.
Because you just bumped it, and, like, we just listened on the way.
Didn't really have to talk that much.
I didn't realize that.
Glenn Benton was in the car, too?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We drove him to the podcast.
Oh, absolutely.
In regards to put on Dick Dale, yeah.
Yeah.
Which is the first time that's happened.
Yeah.
It's like, oh, shit, there's no time for Uber.
There's no time for him to find a ride.
We're probably going to have to.
We've never driven.
an artist here.
That was first time since then
and before then, yeah.
Yeah, it's weird
how subconsciously
you come up with these ideas.
A small idea is like,
oh, let me put on Dick Dale.
Yeah, set the vibe.
It's like, damn,
because Dick Dale is a very,
if you don't know,
you'll definitely ask some questions about,
hey, like,
what are you playing?
And a conversation started,
well, this is Dick Dale,
he's the king of the circus guitar.
Right.
It's also been called
like the godfather
of like heavy metal.
Because, I mean,
he created
tremolo picking pretty much he was fucking tremlos be picking and fucking 58 dude so yeah imagine
being in glens era yeah or it's like oh it's dick dale i know what dick dale is and
because he grew up probably with that as well yeah so that was that's what i'm saying is smart move man
you probably got him comfortable as well talked talk to talk base gear yeah and found some uh some some
uh some uh things in common you know i like that you didn't ask like the typical questions too yeah
It was cool.
It's weird, dude.
It's weird how your life will kind of just boil up to these moments.
Sometimes things don't click, but sometimes things do click.
And that's always, like, fascinating me.
It's like, man, what?
Sometimes things just line up.
And when they line up, they're like, right on.
It's weird.
And it's always at that right balance of pressure.
You're not overly understretched pressure, but there's that, like, finally.
where you're not totally comfortable
and you're just pushing it
there's that where things
that's where the magic happened
that's like that more just lines up
you're a little bit nervous
but anxious
but for some reason
if you did the work
prior it just lines up
and that was one of those days
yeah I had a feeling too
because you know
it was getting close to the wire
but yeah like
I think we both felt it
we're like this is gonna happen
yeah it's nice
even if we have to wait all day or whatever
like we're gonna make this happen
and we did
I mean, it worked out, so.
Holy moly.
So what you get for Christmas?
Cole?
I treated my family to dinner.
Sweet.
Yeah, and then, yeah, they gave me some cash as well.
So it was kind of like a trade for a trade.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, that's great.
Yeah, I treated my family to Thai food.
Pat Thai?
I got Pat Sioux.
Nice.
I love the flat noodles.
That's dope.
Yeah, so good.
Do Thai food is so good.
It's just like one of those like you can't go wrong.
Yeah.
Any day.
It's always bomb.
Do you find that you love Thai food, but it's so hard to find the spot you always go to?
Isn't that weird?
Yeah.
It's like you know you love it, but to find your spot is so like.
There's definitely different.
Look at that picture.
Oh my God.
That's, is that, is that, that's past you.
Yeah.
Wow.
I can tell by the broccoli.
That's so good, dude.
Yeah.
You can tell by the broccoli.
Just looking at the noodles
making my muscles
fucking just pumped up.
I hate to say it,
but Thai food is literally food porn.
I'm sorry.
It is.
Because it just,
there's rarely foods
where you look at it
and you know what it's gonna taste like.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, dude,
Thai food,
you know it's gonna be good
before you even try it.
You could see the peanut sauce.
Yeah.
I love that.
You could see all the flavor
and all the like,
I love food
where you can tell
there was like hardened soul
that was put into it.
Yeah,
then you got,
you know,
you have the,
Curry sauces, Thai curry sauces.
Oh, man.
That's my jam right there.
Is that orange curry?
Yeah, it's the red curry.
Oh, the red curry.
Nice.
And curry's great for you.
I mean, uh, turmeric.
Tumric is great for inflammation and ginger, all that stuff.
I see that because it's based out of nothing.
Dude, it's yellow.
It has to be good for you.
Tell us more.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Scholars maintain it.
It has a fan.
fancy name, turmeric.
It sounds healthy.
It's great.
For sure,
turmeric is great for you.
For sure.
That's pretty common knowledge.
I've yet to see a conspiracy theory video on YouTube about it being bad for you.
Oh,
it's common.
It's probably one of,
already up there.
Did you know it's actually the worst thing?
Yeah.
You put in your butt.
Yeah.
There's always those.
I got pumpkin pie for Christmas.
Oh, nice.
A lot of tamales.
A lot of tamales.
I have enough for the whole year, I think.
Dude, I haven't had a good tamale this year.
That's the one thing that I've been slacking on.
Yeah, you've got to have good tamale, dude.
I haven't found a good tamale place in the valley yet since I moved out there.
I haven't found a good spot.
You see, you're in a position where there's so many options.
It's kind of hard to find somehow.
But I want, I don't want to go to a place.
I want like the lady with like the little cart.
Oh, of course.
Oh, yeah, of course.
That's the only way to have tamales.
Yeah.
But I haven't seen, I only see like tacos.
stands and stuff around me.
I've been looking.
Yeah.
It's kind of tough.
Well, you have homework now.
Well, if you live in the San Fernando Valley and you have an abuelita that makes really
good tamales, let me know, because I'm looking, honestly.
Oh, my goodness.
Tamales, yeah, pumpkin pie, chocolate.
I'm 37, and I don't have kids yet.
And when I realize what Christmas is to me right now, it's the time to clean your room.
Yeah.
That's the time to clean.
I clean the room.
My room, like the bathroom.
Yeah.
Our fucking, our bathtub is just full of like purple rings in it.
I'm like, I got.
This residue.
Yeah, I was just fucking scrubbing that shit, dude.
My goodness.
There's a garza residue on there.
Yeah, it's like, man.
The Garza res.
Yeah.
Got to buy a whole, a whole new fucking bathtub.
That shit is.
Oh, man.
You have to get like the goo gone.
Just leave it, like squirt it on there.
That's a good idea.
Leave it on.
You have to let it marinate.
you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Leave it for like an hour and come back and then you can scrub it off.
That's a good idea.
That's how you get those stains off.
There's little stones.
Pumice stone.
Oh yeah, you can do that too, pumice stone.
That's great.
I hung out with my cat.
For Christmas Eve, I took a cycling class with my lady.
That's how you know you love someone.
When you just do things?
I'll take a cycling class.
Oh, you're open-minded.
I would never do that.
But that shit, it turned my legs in the,
Spaghetti.
Dude, that's a rough way.
Yeah,
cycling class.
That shit was tough, dude.
Yeah, I've done it before.
It's intense.
Shout out to the instructor.
It's crazy that there was like,
I mean,
it was a packed room.
And there's,
they got it.
They're all in like this flow state.
It's so cool.
They're like,
they have a whole playlist.
Yeah,
it's just a flow state.
It's so fucking cool.
That's cool.
I love cardio.
I'm one of the weird people
that actually enjoys it.
So there you go.
I love that kind of stuff.
You're it.
yeah yeah i'm a psychopath i know yeah oh my goodness i like getting my blood pumping man
you know yeah yeah i feel like it you definitely get the natural high after yeah it's like
playing drums same thing yeah moving your body runner's high is a real thing man
runner's high like when you run and you haven't ran it a long time like oh wow you're like
you're like you're fucking you just feel alive because you're like oh my body's working
i feel my body working and like we're so late you're so
nowadays so when you're not doing something like that you're you're not challenging your body at all
yeah so that's why i like cardio because it reminds it kind of kicks your body back into gear like hey
you better you better work you know what i mean have you guys ever experienced that phenomenon where
you're listening to music and you're running and then the music gets like slower or something
oh like you kind of get tunnel vision but hearing wise yeah it's weird like the music is so slow it could be
the fastest metal ever
And then you're like, I don't know, 15 minutes into the run, peak heart rate.
And then the music is like super slow.
And it's like, why is this so slow?
It's like, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
But you know it's a fast song.
That's the runner's high kicking in for sure.
Because you're getting like all those endorphin rushes for sure.
It's weird.
Like the adrenaline.
When the adrenaline kicks in, that's when it gets fun.
Because then you actually enjoy the, it's not pain, but it's like the strain.
Yeah, exactly.
Running sucks.
but when you get into that flow,
it's so sick.
Yeah, like, I would say, like, the first, like, five minutes sucks, for sure.
It always sucks.
But once your body accepts it, what you're doing, it kind of, yeah, it, like, releases that adrenaline,
and then you start to enjoy it.
And now it's a challenge.
You're like, well, can I run faster?
Yeah.
Can I keep this pace up?
Man.
Now you're, like, challenging your body and then it's fun.
And we're so, running also makes me feel like a pussy because we have it so easy.
imagine running before they were headphones.
Oh,
dude.
We're all like,
ooh.
You ever forget your earbuds at the gym?
Yeah.
And you're like, well, this is going to be the worst workout ever
because I don't have music.
Oh, yeah.
You're like, oh, well, this,
how did people do it back in the day?
You had a, I mean, the oldest you could really think of is,
um,
they had like,
imagine when like the,
like, the tape cassette just came out and they had like those shitty
little fucking headphones.
Yeah.
A little plastic. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, that must have been
like, that must have been such a
big deal. The little foam ones.
Yeah.
Dude.
This sounds amazing.
Okay, so from that to how spoiled
we are now, like, dude, I have
noise can't canceling earbuds
where I can't hear anyone around me when I'm running.
I can't even hear my footsteps.
We do have it easy.
We're so spoiled.
I know. $20 on Amazon. You have
noise canceling.
counseling earbuds.
Dude, so nuts.
I'm a big fan of David Gagins.
He was talking about how he runs.
We're like, I don't use headphones.
He makes me feel just inferior in many ways.
Yeah, he's not.
He's built different, though.
You can't compare yourself to him at all.
His access into his own mind is fascinating.
Yeah.
So fucking dope, man.
But, yeah, you know, you can inspire and you try it.
Like, fuck, how do you do that, man?
There's just certain people, like, you know, like John Jones or someone like that.
Like, you just can't compare yourself to someone who's just born to be, you know, a maniac.
I read this book, Can't Stop Me.
Oh, yeah.
Wait, it's Can't Hurt Me.
Can't Hurt Me.
Yeah, great book, man.
Super fucking inspiring.
Yeah, there it is.
Can't hurt me.
Incredible.
He is very motivational.
I'm definitely for anyone that's for like positive energy and that kind of thing.
Yeah, he's one of the rare people that I actually read his Instagram captions.
Yeah, they'll be pretty long.
But I was like, I don't know.
I'm not doing anything right now.
I do.
Yeah, I do like his approach to motivating people because I'm not into like the people who are like, I don't know.
They just don't factor in people's life.
And they're like, anybody could do this.
I like that he's more realistic.
you know what I mean
like he's you can
kind of
as like the average person
can kind of like
compare themselves to him
and be like okay
I can take something from this
versus some of the motivational guys
they're coming from the
point of view of like
someone that's already kind of like
in the perfect spot in life
totally
you know so that's why respect about him
look at that right there
you have fucking two paragraphs
man
he's the sick of
he is he is
sick as fuck, dude. David Gaggons,
man. Fuck yeah, dude.
He just came out with a new
book, which I'll be a plan on
buying very shortly.
Speaking of that,
New Year is
here. Yeah.
So what are your New Year's
resolutions?
Or resolution?
Probably the biggest thing,
because I've been really, really into, like,
exercise lately, the gym, all that kind of stuff.
Just stay on that path.
Cool.
That's really, I know that's like the most generic New Year's resolution.
But since I've been on the good path, my thing is just keep doing what I'm doing.
Since I'm already doing it.
Yeah.
I'm going to the gym like four or five days a week.
I just want to keep that up pretty much.
That's great.
Because I think as long as I'm active, everything else is easy.
Everything else in life is easy as long as you, you know, take care of your body, pretty much.
That's great.
So your thing is just to stay consistent.
and just keep doing what you're doing.
Yeah, because if you're consistent with exercise,
then you're going to be consistent with more consistent with your diet,
more consistent with your work,
because you're going to be more mindful of all that kind of stuff.
True.
So, yeah, that's how I look at it.
You feed your body, the rest is easy, you know?
Yeah.
And we forget, the way our brains are fucking,
the way our brains are wired you.
Like, you just forget that,
There's success in maintaining who you are and what you're doing.
Just maintaining that.
So if you maintain, you say you want to work out or exercise four days a week,
if you maintain that, that is a massive success.
Because a lot of people can't do that.
True.
You know what I mean?
Like a lot of people, so I consider that like a big deal.
Appreciate that.
Because for a long time, I couldn't do that.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, dude, crazy.
And I think it's easy.
The thing is, it's really easy to get into a habit,
but it's also easy to get out of a habit.
Yes.
Especially if it's a healthy habit because it's the last,
when you're being selfish with yourself,
it's the last thing you want to kind of get on your own ass about.
You know what I mean?
It's easy to get lazy with that kind of stuff.
And only we can do it, you know?
Jerry, can you look up the, what is the New Year's resolution success rate?
I'm really curious.
on it's not going to be high you want to guess what's the i'm going to say dude i'm going 30
success rate i it can't be higher than 30 percent i'm going to go 15 even lower yeah 15 percent of
people will be successful m jerry all right what what's your guess all right my guess well i can't
i looked at it okay oh okay he already spoiled it yeah i'm
I just want to say you guys have no hope for humanity.
No, I'm kidding.
No, I'm kidding.
Yeah, what's the percentage of success rate for New Year's resolution?
Oh, shit.
Uh-oh.
I saw a low number.
9% successful.
9%?
Oh, man, I gave people too much hope.
Yeah, actually.
I saw this 43, and I was like, you know what?
Then I saw this 9 after.
43% of all people failed before February.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
And most people quit before the end of January.
And only 9% see and through until they succeed, basically.
What, okay, now, what's the most popular?
I think we all know the answer, but just to get the percentage of numbers out there,
what is the most popular New Year's resolution?
Obviously, it's probably going to be exercise.
It's what I probably what I just said.
Some kind of.
Why do you guys think that is?
That's something that everybody could always improve.
prove on no matter who you are.
Do you think it's because we've been picking out, like,
towards the end of the year?
Yeah.
Yeah, especially after, like, you got Thanksgiving,
you have Christmas, you have all these, like,
let's be honest, you're visiting family and they're feeding you.
And it's rude to say no.
So you're eating.
I know, I know, I know the reason.
And I know the deep reason why people.
Oh, there's the unique deeper reason.
I know, I know why people set that, that New Year's.
Okay.
They just want to fuck.
How do I fuck?
Yeah.
You want to look good.
What's the percentage?
I'm, okay, wait.
So before I see it, I'm going to guess 57% of the year's resolutions are in the exercise.
I'm going to go way higher.
I'm going 85% exercise.
Oh, wow.
That's up there.
I think it's that high.
Where are we at?
Well, to be fair, the top three are exercise health-related.
Oh, okay.
52% exercise more.
50% eat healthier.
40% lose weight.
That's all.
That's kind of the same thing.
You can combine that all into one thing.
That's like 140% right there.
So it's like.
And then financials.
If you do buy it by 100, it's like at least 90% then.
Yeah.
So financials, yeah, to save some money.
I think that's to save money.
This is a good one.
20%.
To spend less time on social media.
We all know.
You're not.
doing that. It's tough, dude.
It's tough.
I don't even say stuff like that.
When people are like, I'm going to spend less time on social media.
Let's be honest with ourselves, dude.
Like, it's impossible.
I've said that to myself.
As far as.
So tough, dude.
Mindless doom scrolling.
You know what I mean?
Just like scrolling.
That's a good go.
You see, you could do that.
You could not do that.
You could cut that part up.
But for sure.
Like, to me, when people like, and these are people I know that say this, so, you know,
shout out to them.
But like, when people say they like delete app.
Like I delete Instagram.
Sure.
To me, that makes it even worse because then you're going to have to reinstall it
and then you're going to be super hooked on it because you had to install it again.
It's like a drug like you're hooked on it.
It's like cutting back on sugar.
Once you got, oh, okay, I'll cut back of sugar.
Then we get that fucking first piece of chocolate, you're fucked.
Yeah, well, my thing is you can't go a cold turkey on something.
You just cut back.
Yes.
Like sugar, right?
People always like to go super extreme.
Like, I'm 100% keto, zero percent sugar.
Yeah.
Guess what's going to happen?
you're going to go home one night, you're going to eat
so much sugar that you're going to
eat more than the whole time that you stopped
eating sugar. Yeah, you're right. I've seen it happen a million times.
I'm going keto. I'm fucking.
It's all about moderation. All you need to do is cut back
on stuff. You don't need to go full ham
like zero nothing. You know what I mean?
You're right. Because that's not good for
longevity.
Unless you're David Guggins.
Yeah. And you got that soldier mindset.
I mean, but I don't even know if he ever even
was on that wagon where it's like that.
I mean, well, he was pretty big, right?
That's his whole, like, story.
But, like, see, he was in the military, so, like,
he learned, like, very specific discipline and stuff.
What about spend more time with family and friends?
Is that a resolution?
It's literally the most important thing you ever do
in your whole life.
Yeah, that is a very big one.
Yeah, it's the only thing that, ironically, like, that matters.
That's a tough balance because...
At least it's near the top.
Yeah.
Reduce stress on the job?
Yeah.
Get a better job.
No, kidding.
I mean, that's...
Yeah.
Yeah, spend more time with family and your friends.
That's such a big one.
That's 37%.
For your mental health, just alone.
It always crossed your mind.
Like, you're just in your own flow.
And what's crazy and what's so crazy about that is that a month will fly by.
Six months.
Now you're in the new year.
It's like, man, who do I hang out with?
You know, it's really hard to make time and connect with people.
And that's the most important thing I think we can do, you know, connect with our families and our friends.
Especially nowadays, people get busier and people move away and like, it gets tough, for sure.
It is.
That's a tough balance I'm personally trying to find.
You're so into like, oh, I'm going to do this, got to do that.
If I don't do this, I'm going to be fucking broke.
Yeah.
It's tough, man.
It's really tough to find.
but yet, you know, spending time of your fans
is the most important thing you possibly do.
Yeah, I agree.
It's just tough when you're so geared on your work
and being productive and stuff.
Human connection.
Yeah.
You know.
It is important, though, really important for your mental health.
I don't think people value enough
how important it is to be around people you love.
Yeah, totally.
People, like, we often forget that we're social creatures
and we're meant to, like, share experience.
and not be alone.
Because nowadays it's like very acceptable.
Just be alone.
I don't think that's good long term.
Yeah.
It's not healthy.
You got to share experiences and talk to people.
Absolutely.
You know, it's so important.
Yeah, you're right.
You need to share your experience with whatever you're doing.
You know, he's got to share them like, you know,
you know someone that I think about when we're doing these podcasts?
I'm going to give a shout out.
I believe he's based out of Vegas.
His name is Sterling.
and he's a truck driver
and I know he's probably listening to this
probably driving somewhere
probably being tripped out
but I always I think I invited him a lot
for some reason
like for example if you're steering
you know
if you're driving you see so much shit dude
yeah so much of
see the whole world
so much of this of
of the country you
I mean share that you know
I would share that
oh yeah for sure
what I saw you know
share our experiences
I think that's very important, you know?
Yeah.
No, it is very important.
Keep the country going, really.
Those drivers, you know?
100%.
Shout out to the drivers, man.
They're like the unsung heroes of the country, really.
They're just lone wolves out there, you know?
Yeah, if I'm out in a freeway,
always try to give them up the right away.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, man, they're driving for hours.
You let them...
12, 14 hours, yeah.
Let them merge into the lane, man.
Yeah.
What about this game right here?
Okay.
What's that other one?
Truck Sim, it's like
Truck Simulator or something like that?
I love those simulator games.
I know.
Yeah.
Goat simulator.
Oh, yeah.
Lawnmower.
Simulator.
Yeah, there's all kinds of.
It's crazy.
Sick.
I personally do not have a New Year's resolution.
Yeah, there's always
just stay consistent with what you're doing and what you want to do.
Yeah.
Being consistent is a full-time job, I realized.
I got older.
Yeah, that's kind of why my resolution wasn't really a resolution
because I think the best way to really succeed, I guess,
in what your resolution would be is to start way before New Year's.
I think if you're starting out New Year's, that's like a bad.
That's not a good example to set to yourself.
Yeah, you want to build up to it.
Yeah, because New Year's is such a big event.
You don't want it to be like this.
I think the more you build something up, the harder you make it, you're like overthinking it.
Yeah.
You just start, just start doing it.
I agree to start.
Don't wait.
You know.
Any big changes in my life personally, I mean, from experience, you just, you know, you just, I'll do it right now.
We'll start right now.
There's nothing wrong with that.
Those are the ones that tend to stick, right?
And I think when you make those, you know, healthy habits early on, then when New Year's
finally hits you're like oh i'm good i've been doing this for already like month or two like yeah i'm
already locked in you know totally well jerry what's going out what's going on in the award right now
should we just hop into these uh yeah um yeah just to what should we call them i uh if you're
listening watching help us figure out a title what should we call them current event should we call them
i guess for now they're current events okay for now but yeah but we'll we'll build up to something
Yeah, sound off in the comments.
Yeah, let me get high and I was thinking about it for a long time.
It'll happen.
Just to wrap up the point you guys were making about just consistency,
this is one of my favorite quotes.
And I've been thinking about it for the past couple of days just like editing stuff
and just, you know, when you have a monumental task ahead of you
and you get overwhelmed and you start procrastinating because you're just like, uh.
Yeah.
This one, slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
That's awesome.
Just keep chipping away.
and by the time you know it, like, I'm already done.
Like, it's crazy.
There is something to, like, persistence and longevity.
Yeah.
That I, you cannot.
Yeah.
Bring up enough.
It's so important.
This year, I read the book,
Uh,
Shudog by Phil Knight.
He was, uh,
the CEO founder of Nike.
Yeah, there is.
Um,
oh, cool.
Yeah.
I read that.
Some of the best advice in there,
like, says,
don't stop.
Keep going.
Don't stop.
He says a few times in there,
But that's like the thing I always go back in my brain.
I was like, I've kind of been doing that my whole life.
Just not stopping.
I think a lot of people don't know what that means.
You know what I mean?
Like I think a lot of people have trouble grasping what don't stop means.
I think they kind of oversimplify it.
But it actually has a pretty deep meaning.
What does that mean actually?
Because I think people, they see it as like this generic, you know, like when you see like the life coaches and stuff and they're like, just keep going.
You know, I don't think people really grasp what don't stop means.
It really means like if you really, really want something and this is what you want to do with your life,
change whatever you need to change in your life to make it happen.
Like, just make sure you're consistent and don't give up easily because a lot of people get into something.
And then they want to put it back down five minutes later.
And that's just not how life works.
Like you have to keep going and try over and over and over.
And eventually, if it's something you really love, it'll happen, you know.
I agree.
If you love it, just don't stop.
Yeah.
I mean, what we're doing right now, I mean, it's kind of a perfect example.
Just didn't stop.
Just keep going with it.
Yeah, just keep going.
That's been the best advice I've seen in a long time.
So, yeah, Jerry, what's up with current events, man?
For sure.
Well, let's see.
Metallica out of nowhere dropped Luxa Terna.
Have you guys heard that one?
Yeah, oh, yeah, it's great.
It's great, man.
It's pretty cool.
A little too perfect as far as production.
They're going on to wear a pantera
It's sick, sick as fuck
Yeah
Pantara
Let's fucking see a Pantera video
Yeah, let's check it up
Them fucking
It's ripping
This is them in Chile, right?
This is Mexico, Colombia, Chile
in Brazil
Wow
Look at all those fucking people
Oh my God
This stoked
First of all, they have good rhythm
Because they're bouncing
On cue with the song
That's an undeniable flow state
Yeah
there's so many people there
those songs you know
the song that it's just
that's a stadium
I just love seeing a crowd like that
like having that good of a time
what is that 40,000 people
50,000 easy
yeah easy yeah easy
probably more than 5,000 I would guess
I mean look how far back it goes
to the very back
like pack to the gills
dude that's like 80,000 easy
if you're Pantera
you got to have pyro
you got have pyro yeah I mean
Pyro and metal
just
Their music just sounds like fire
So it makes sense
Sounds like Texas fire
It's sick dude
And they got Zach Wilde
Yeah I know
I believe they picked the perfect guys to do it
And then Charlie from anthrax
He's amazing as well
This is probably sunk
Where's
This might be
Colombia
Or Chile
Wow
That's a lot of people
That's a lot of people
And if you look up
In the Raptors, bro, it's packed up there, too.
It's not just the floor.
Holy moly.
Wow.
I love that song.
I love Walk.
Fuck everybody.
I'm like here trying to be cool.
I love Walk.
I mean, it's one of the most, one of the catchiest riffs of metal, period, for sure.
It's just the attitude.
Phil Anselmo just really meaning what he's saying behind, like.
Yeah.
It's one of those undeniable songs.
where it's just it's so sick you can't you literally cannot deny it so we uh thank you Jerry
for sharing that video we we saw Pantera for the third show it was in Columbia and it was pretty
sick oh nice that dude that's fucking crazy from my stage oh my god oh oh there's someone guys
someone brought the pyro someone's lighting a fire in the pit dude that's nice you're you're
burnt dude they're having a good time but dude it was sick it's worth it
it's worth seeing.
Oh, yeah.
You get a...
Especially if you weren't alive
for the original lineup,
it's like, dude.
I think it's worth doing.
I think you gotta do it.
I think the biggest surprise
of this whole thing was actually Charlie.
Yeah.
He's so good.
I am anal about snare placement.
Because if you listen to record,
like there's like those really like odd time snares.
Oh, yeah.
They just stay with you forever.
If you're air drummed,
you just do like those...
You just do let those...
Snares.
Yeah.
And when drummers don't nail it, I fucking.
It's a pet people in my mic.
You play the fucking.
I love those snares.
Especially because Vinny, his like snare accents were just in the perfect spots.
Like, you couldn't do it better than him.
Taste.
Perfect.
Out of the box.
Tasty.
And Charlie was nailing.
Yeah.
All of them.
And that was really surprising to see.
So shout out to Charlie, man.
I believe he just turned 60.
It's crazy.
It's sick as fuck.
He was a big surprise, man.
Shout out to Charlie.
He looks fresh.
He was always the person in Anthrax that stood out to me.
So I was stoked to see that he was a part of it.
Yeah?
Because I love, like, growing up, I loved his drumming.
One of the first thrash drummers that I really like watched religiously, you know?
Yeah, he's awesome.
Shout out of Anthrax, too.
Yeah, I mean, for Rex's Rex, this smooth bass lines being Rex, sick as fuck, Phil's sound incredible.
Yeah.
You know.
That's awesome, man.
And Zach did a really good job, too.
He kind of, you think about Zach, like, he's kind of got not necessarily forced in that situation.
Yeah.
He would have started saying his name, like, years ago.
I remember that.
It's like, I mean, I think there's no better guy for the job.
I think so, too.
Well, he's kind of from that era.
Same era.
He's put the work in with Ozzy.
He's played with Ozzy, so he's kind of like, he's proved himself for sure.
He's got the unabashed, just attitude, just like, fuck you, I'm going to shred.
And, I mean, he adds his own.
thing.
Ripped as fun.
Whether you love it or
hate it, he adds his own
flare, his own style,
which is cool.
I love that guitar.
I actually wanted that
guitar back then.
One thing Zach has
that no other guitar player
can do, which
you could say all you want
about this guy could play
it better or whatever the fuck,
but Zach has a star power.
That's what I'm saying.
And when you're watching him,
you're like,
and he starts doing a solo
with the lights.
I'm like, no one else can do that.
Yeah.
No one else can do that.
It's a live thing.
You have to be there to feel it.
I think what they did right
was it's the vibe as a whole.
if you put
if you put someone else in there
it's just the vibe as a whole
would be kind of off
it wouldn't have worked
it really wouldn't have worked
in the same way
if it was some anonymous shredder guy
yeah
yeah
it'd be like uh
yeah
yeah
probably the champagne talking to you
but uh
yeah
I mean
if you think about
Diamondbag
he is
probably one of the hardest
guitar players
to emulate
probably if not one of the top
because I call them
they're very rare
they're bilingual
guitar players
right
They could play rhythm.
They could also do leads.
That is, if you think about guitar players,
they have the right hand and the left hand.
That's rare.
That is rare.
No one else can fucking hop in there and start doing that shit.
He was just one guitar player.
He had to carry the rhythm and then snap into the leads and just.
This rumor sign bag would take shits in practice.
Yeah.
And that's, uh,
which has some,
it's funny because I'll be taking shit sometime.
Like, I should have a guitar here.
This guy.
So I could buy a dime bag.
It's practice.
There you go.
Multitask.
Yeah, I mean, you're on.
Squeals like no other.
Like, I've never heard squeals from anyone else, like, literally.
Shout out to Pantera.
I think they're doing the right thing.
I think the lineup is perfect.
If it's in your town, you can see them.
You got to see them.
Yeah, man, you got to see it because you never know if it might not happen again.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
It sounds sick and it's fun.
Yeah.
I mean, you just saw a fucking video of 40,000 people.
I mean, stoked as fuck.
It looks like a good time.
It looks like fun to me.
And all like the younger generation
could see something, you know?
That's what I'm saying.
Like, sick.
This might be your only chance to see Pantera
live. I would rather go than not go.
Yeah, I'm buying tickets for sure
for L.A. Yeah, I'm not missing that.
That show's going to be insane.
I got to go. Yeah.
Yeah, Jay, what else, man?
Well, bridging the gap between
a subculture and
mega pop culture.
Ed Shearin and Cradlefielfiths, Danny Filth, are about to collab.
That's so fucking sick.
They're about to drop some.
I don't know what, but they're having dinner and they look happy.
I know Ed Shearin's definitely a metalhead, right?
Yeah, he did a song with Groom in the Horizon and stuff.
He's a huge metal head.
Yeah, there you go.
Yeah, I'm stoked to see him kind of embracing that side a little bit more, too.
What are they doing?
Well, I guess they've longed his plans to collaborate,
and I guess they said,
like they're just going to do something for fun
according to Danny Filth
but then
Ed Sheeran had a baby, got sidetracked
and you know of course he's a super mega
star. Yeah. But
he says he assures me
that he's going to finish it and
they spoke quite recently and they posted this picture
here. Yeah, that's going to be sick.
This is my favorite
shit. Yeah.
First of all, shout out to Ed Shearn. He's sick as fuck.
Yeah, he's awesome. I love that
he's embracing like the metal side.
That's incredible.
That's really cool.
I'm curious what it's going to be, you know?
And obviously, Danny is a legend.
Yeah, it's really cool.
I always thought that Cradle was like one of the coolest bands because they somehow
creeped into the mainstream a little bit.
They're like the one band that a lot of people know about.
Yeah.
You don't have to know a lot about metal, but you know who Crato Filth is.
So it's cool that, you know, this opportunity is happening.
So badass, dude.
Yeah.
Because Danny has the star power, obviously.
Fuck, yeah, dude.
You know what I mean?
Legend.
And obviously this might be an opportunity to...
Danny, we want you on a podcast.
Ed Sherry, we want you in a podcast as well.
Get on it.
Yeah, double pod, dude.
Let's do it.
That would be sick, dude.
Yeah, super stoked.
We got champagne here for you guys.
Yeah, what's the record called?
Midian, correct?
That's my favorite.
And that's a...
Jesus, dude, what a...
That is one of the best, not just black metal,
but just one of the best metal albums of all time, for sure.
Oh, my goodness.
Look at that artwork.
That's art work is this.
It's nuts.
What is going on in the artwork?
See, this is what I love about this era of metal
because this was like when you,
there was like no MySpace or anything like that.
So when you went to the record store,
you just had to buy it based on the cover.
Literally, what is going on in the cover?
So you see that cover and you're like,
dude, I don't care what it sounds like.
I need to buy this because I need to do it.
Jerry, blow it up.
What it sounds like.
Blup, bloop, bloop the ironwork real quick.
Let's see.
There's two, as you can only describe as creatures.
Yeah.
They have to have the goth girl in there, obviously.
It's just a hot got to have goth girl with some creature beside her.
Come on, man, you've got to have the goth girl, or it's not black one.
Wow.
And then you have the devil in the sky, right?
It's like that Mortal Kombat annihilation.
Oh, yeah.
I love the purple, obviously.
Purple is such a cool color.
Oh, purple sucks.
that's a that that's a cover man
and some chick is walking in
to
like whatever that is
to the temple of hell or something
okay that's pretty sick
it's like you know it's like I was saying man
like when you're at the record store
you don't know what any band sounds like
you're buying that right yeah
yeah if you see that cover you're definitely to buy that
that was back then right that's all you had to go off of
was cover art dude there was no my space
music videos were still like pretty new
you know what I mean
so you had to like
well fuck
just take a chance
fucking and say
I can't want to you hear it
it's badass man
see yeah
it might be a
a love ballad
who knows
yeah
like a bolton
yeah
I'm not expecting
anything crazy
death metal
it might be like a cool
dark
heavy song
like melodic
yeah
that's what I'm thinking
yeah what's next
Jerry
let's see
um
got the
uh Courtney love
thing
yeah
yeah
with Panterian
Courtney love
writes a new song
called Justice for Kurt.
Okay.
She's like no stranger to controversial things.
Everything she does is just...
Yeah. Interesting.
WTF.
But...
One of the best
rhythm guitar players to ever do it.
By far.
Cobain.
One of the...
I mean, Nirvana literally changed music forever.
That's another one of those guys
who was just the sole guitar player
who had to really carry...
Yeah.
Do you everything?
Yeah.
three piece bands are so deadly oh yeah they are deadly bands dude yeah fuck three pieces are
powerful if you're a three pieces you have to everyone literally everyone above has to be literally
like top tier sick the drummer you have to do more than one thing you can't just play your instrument
yeah yeah so she wrote a new song called justice for kurt that apparently addresses the
movement surrounding the conspiracy theories about his death um uh-oh she decided to
to leave it off her upcoming album because it would ruin the record.
Oh, that's part of a good call.
Okay.
Interesting.
So when I really cared about her, said, hey, it's probably going on the record.
Yeah.
That's a great calling a great friend.
Hold on in that front.
58-year-old Courtney Love told Mark Maren on his podcast.
Oh, sick.
Yeah, she wrote the secret song.
Shout out Mark Maren.
Shout out Mark Maren.
Oh, podcast O-G.
Fuck yeah.
O-G for sure.
I love his podcast.
But, yeah, apparently it's only two minutes and 24 seconds, and it's a rock song.
and um but yeah she said it would swallow the entire narrative like it would like you think yeah yeah that's tough
oh yeah i mean if you're corinia love i wouldn't even talk about that because now look i mean look
what we're doing yeah yeah yeah exactly or maybe she's super smart like if i talk about this
and people will listen i don't know we did it good job yeah the click they worked you go you did it
you could go good job corny either way i mean we just love kurt that's all
Yeah. I mean, one of my favorite guitar players.
Yeah.
Definitely.
It took me a while to come around to Nirvana.
Because, you know, it was just everywhere.
So when you're young, you want to go the opposite way.
Especially considering, like, thrash metal and all that stuff was not cool once Grunge came out.
Yeah.
That was, like, kind of an interesting time when that all happened.
So fucking sick, dude.
Yeah.
Yeah, I want to give a shout out right now to a hemorrhage.
Let's check out their latest.
Awesome, awesome dudes.
This isn't how members of the band Hemorrhage were hoping to end their night after a big show.
We just came from Sacramento to play at an after party,
and now we're on our way home.
As we entered the freeway, some guy was going about like 60 or 80 miles an hour and hit us really hard, and they dragged us.
John Orick is the guitarist for the San Francisco-based thrash metal band Hemorrhage.
The crash happened early Saturday morning in San Francisco Soma District.
He says no one was seriously hurt.
It was great. It was like slow motion. It was crazy.
And the next thing I know, like, the person that was supposed to be next to me is not there.
And it was insane.
Ork says the alleged driver who hit them was arrested by police who happened to be nearby.
But their bus isn't like a typical tour bus.
It's also their mobile stage.
We just open the door and pop the window open and we just start playing.
That's sick as fuck.
It's sort of like a food truck type.
Yeah.
Yeah, like it's exactly like a food truck concept while we turn into music.
But no bus means no business.
Their New Year's gig is now canceled.
They plan to play L.A. around the Grammys in February.
Later, to tour parts of Texas.
Ork says their bosses will be in the thousands.
That's a big hit for band trying to build momentum after the pandemic shutdowns.
We grew our Instagram followers from 2000 to those 27,000.
We got endorsements.
Fuck yeah.
We're doing this full time now.
A new bus could cost up to $20,000, not to mention the thousands of dollars needed to replace damaged equipment.
They set up a GoFundMe page to help cover costs.
Rent and bills are due in January.
They have to generate money to stay afloat, but they're not giving up.
We always come back really strong.
Well, before we got this warehouse where we're at right now, we got robbed like our old store.
And we got this warehouse seven days later.
So we have a good track record of bouncing back.
In San Francisco.
Awesome. ABC 7 News.
Dude, John is sick, man.
Such a good dude.
Yeah, so they've obviously been here before on the pod.
They have literally played outside the building here.
It was so sick, dude.
First performance ever at the podcast.
So that was cool.
Great dude.
So, yeah, they have a GoFundMe.
I believe their goal is $30,000,
and they're a little bit above $20,000 right now,
which is pretty sick.
Let's push them over, man.
Let's make it happen.
Totally.
We'll have the link here.
These guys are awesome for just taking the show to people instead of, you know, waiting for something to happen.
They just make it happen.
Yeah, I mean, it's like they, like they said, you know, they weren't getting the shows that they wanted to get booked on.
So they just made them happen.
Yeah.
It's pretty awesome, man.
Everyone, like in every video, the crowd looks hype that they're there.
Well, yeah, because that's so, you know, that's awesome to be able to do that, to just like, such a smart idea.
Like you already have the fans.
Yeah.
You go to a metal show as soon as, you know, as soon as the show's over, they're playing.
It's such a good.
Damn.
From what I hear, they're all fine.
They're all good.
That's great.
Yeah.
I mean, it just sucks.
That's their whole stage.
Yeah.
He's unfortunate.
These fucking people is hitting you, man.
He's running red lives, fellow.
If you're driving out there, be careful because I got hit fucking two weeks ago.
These guys got hit last week.
Got to be careful now.
Yeah.
You got to be careful.
Yeah.
So what's the, let's do this,
2022 wrapped.
So Jerry,
what happened in this past year?
Well,
damn.
Besides me getting more hands.
It ain't gonna stop.
It ain't gonna stop.
No, I'm kidding.
So what happened?
So the world has officially surpassed
8 billion people.
Whoa.
And that's crazy.
That's crazy.
And 5 million watch football.
Yeah.
The real football.
That's a lot of people, man.
Yeah.
Weddings are back at an all-time high.
Whoever cares about that.
You know, whatever.
Wedding photographers are stoked.
I know.
Yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
I'm paying a couple bills like that.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
I ain't going to lie, bro.
Yeah.
I mean, Elon Musk bought Twitter.
Mm-hmm.
Doesn't affect me.
Is that a good thing you think?
I will like to say it's a good thing.
Well, he's already stepping down as CEO, so.
Twitter? That happened fast, yeah.
Oh, my goodness.
He left it to a poll, and it was unanimously decided, yes, you should step down.
Really?
Oh, yeah.
He posts on his Twitter.
Imagine being in those meetings.
Like, who's in those meetings?
You know?
Yeah.
Like, who the fuck is?
Well, now the Elon's, you know, the owner, it could be anybody.
Like now that he's the owner
Literally I have no idea
Like who knows who he's bringing on
So it was a poll
What's a poll in a meeting?
He posted a poll on his Twitter
Saying what
Should I step down
As head of Twitter?
Yeah I will abide by the results
Or something like that of this poll
It concluded 57.5%
Voted yes
42.5 voted no
No.
So now he just needs to find someone who's willing to take it over, basically.
17 million votes.
That's a lot.
It's a lot of people.
That is a lot of people.
People really had an opinion.
It's basically all of LA and all of New York.
It's fine.
Yeah.
No big deal.
Man, I don't know about that shit, dude.
A poll.
Just fucking do what we want to do, man.
It's interesting.
Poll is what he wanted to do.
I mean, he's that kind of guy.
I mean, he's kind of like a...
just puts it out there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway,
what else happened this year?
Let's see.
The Will Smith.
The slap hurt around the world.
Oh.
Dude,
when I saw that,
I'm pretty sure I thought it was real.
Because people said,
I thought it was fake,
but when I saw it,
I'm like,
that looks real, dude.
Oh,
I knew it was real right away.
Well,
because I only saw those
five-second clips,
I was like,
what?
And then once I saw it,
I was like,
damn, that's real.
I could just tell
by Chris Rock's reaction
that it was not cool.
Like, because he was so shocked
It was like it was it wasn't acting
You could tell right away
Well, screars him to fuck dude
Hatsom
He had no
Man, he messed up
Yeah
Jada, I love you
G.I. Jane 2
Can't wait to see it
Alright
Chris Rock
Legend
Nice one, okay
That walk
That he walks away
Holy shit
Like a gangster
Yeah
It was a GIG
Okay
Okay stop
Yeah, yeah.
Like the way the tone just changed once you started talking.
That's something that...
The whole vibe.
It's...
Way to ruin the party.
That's a very primal moment because even if you're messing around,
there's...
It was an understanding in that whole room the way his tone of voice was.
Oh, shit.
That was officially like, oh, this is not a joke.
It was serious.
It's funny.
The slap wasn't even like...
It's not acting.
Like, the way...
It's funny how you just tell about the tone.
Yeah.
Like, that's not acting.
That's like, oh, wow.
and everybody knew the moment he said something.
Everyone got quiet in that moment.
It was interesting.
Crazy, crazy.
Sucks, man.
When you're a kid, growing up with Will Smith, man, thinking he's, I mean, he is still sick.
It's just weird because they're friends.
That's what makes it kind of weird.
You know, they grew up together, obviously, like, acting in movies and around each other.
So it's a trip to see two friends get into it like that.
It's national fucking television.
That's what I mean.
National television.
It would be one thing if they didn't know each other, but they're like really good friends.
That's what kind of tripped me out.
Fuck, fight backstage or something, man.
National television.
And you're in front of like the elite Hollywood.
Holy shit.
Like Robert De Niro's just like, what the hell?
Yeah, exactly.
Let's close to that with just one more.
All right.
Should we talk about the World Cup, Argentina?
Congrats, man.
Yeah.
Congrats to Messi.
I mean, Messi, right?
Is he the goat or I don't understand anything about us?
I think he's goaded.
I'm pretty sure he's goaded.
He's been, like, amazing.
You know you're goaded when people that don't even watch football or know the sport keep hearing your name.
I keep hearing his name.
Messy, messy, messy, messy.
I'm like, that's when you know, holy shit, that's, that's a.
Well, I will say about the World Cup this year is that maybe, maybe it's just that I was paying attention more to it this year.
But it felt so intense this year.
Like, and the way, like, because it was in Qatar and all that.
like it was interesting um cobble my friends like went to bars to watch it and like dude they
they had bars opening at like 6 a.m i heard about that yeah you know like people were getting
blacked out drunk but before 7 a.m oh yeah the uh the bar that i go to um back home it's like a
it's like a more like a vibey brewery but like yeah they i guess they opened up like a 6 a m i don't know
if that's ever happened before yeah i mean football's a big deal man this is that this is the
a worldwide sport, you know.
We don't get it because we're isolated in the U.S.,
but it's so huge outside.
I mean, basically any other country,
it dwarves any of our sports by like a million, you know.
Well, shout out to Messi, man.
You did it.
Congratulations.
That's such a cool deal, man.
Bad ass.
That's awesome.
Crazy.
Shit.
What else?
A couple things, just never forget the Adam Levine texts or the DMs.
Oh, my goodness.
The body of yours is absurd
Who texts that, dude?
Shout out, Adam Levine, being completely unhinged in the DMs, man.
I love that.
Is he invited or?
That's pretty punk of him to just throw it all away for an Instagram DM.
Let's see, Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard really took over 2022.
That was a big thing.
That was crazy.
Those court, yeah.
That was crazy to watch.
Washington the court cases live were intense.
Yeah. What else? Queen Elizabeth, you know, end of an era.
Yeah.
She ruled for quite a while.
I mean, yeah, for decades, right?
Until 52.
Hell yeah.
Wow.
That's, damn.
That's pretty intense.
I mean, we never saw the day, but we never imagined the day, but it came.
No.
End of an era.
And I don't even know who's ruling UK now.
Do you guys know?
Me.
Yeah, it's just Garza.
Yeah, she's actually.
I'm a hell, yeah.
Oh my goodness
Well
I guess to close out this
This episode
It was a crazy year
Yeah
Definitely me personally
In my life
It was a lot of growth
The most growth

it's coming back slowly
there's been a lot of
a lot of
a lot of growing
a lot of growing pains
yeah
growing pains are fucking
yeah
but it was
you know
I never
I don't think I've ever
looked forward to
a year
ever
but uh same i'm looking forward to to this one i think things that we've been working towards

the final cheers of the year honestly man i agree with you i feel like this upcoming year just
just the few things that i know that are going on like i'm so excited i think a lot of the things
that not only that we've been working on but people around me have been working on
are going to be happening next year and I'm just stoked for everyone.
You know what I mean?
It's awesome.
Let's just keep the good vibe going.
Yeah.
That's what we're trying to do to spread joy and love.
And what a year, man.
Yeah.
What a fucking year.
Do you guys want to maybe shout out some of the best stuff,
some of your favorite stuff of the year in terms of music?
What's your favorite?
I mean, you know.
Piece of music from the year.
Too much, too much.
I'm jamming.
No, I'm jamming Ginger a lot right now.
Ginger, yeah.
Listen to Ginger.
They're fucking...
Wildflowers.
That's their record, dude.
I've been funny.
I listen them this morning.
I can't stop listening to my own.
Hell yeah.
Amazing, man.
And we put out new music, so listen to...
Listen to the new suicide silence.
Shameless, yeah.
Shameless, self-plug.
We put out some songs later on this year.
We've been working really hard on.
it's a big step I'm not saying
this is our best record
or heaviest but it's a big personally
which that's
it'll take hours to even uncover
and unfold in a conversation
but it took us a lot to put out this record
I think it's a big step
towards
becoming us
I agree
and is
yeah being us
it's crazy
they're sick they're heavy
they're fucking dope
everyone's on firing on all
cylinders for sure.
100%. Oh yeah. Everyone, happy new year.
Boom, boom. Happy New Year.
And 2020. And 2,000,
everyone, thank you for watching, listening.
