Please find a comfortable position and settle in. Turn your awareness to your body. Notice any tension and invite it to soften.
Release any strain as you surrender the weight of your body downward. downward. Imagine rooting down into your chair or bed, and down into the many layers of
the earth, all the way to its deepest core. Notice the areas of your body where you tend to hold tension.
Perhaps this is your jaw or behind your eyes or around your neck and shoulders.
Maybe it's in your abdomen or lower back.
Invite a sense of softening and release. and picture any tension melting away and yielding to the earth.
Now bring your awareness to your breath.
Take a few deeper, more intentional breaths and notice the sensation of your breathing.
What does breathing feel like in your body. Pay particular attention to the exhale now.
The sensation of letting go, releasing, unfurling. You may even try to hold the breath out for a bee-tortue before inhaling again,
to really emphasise the emptying sensation at the bottom of the out breath. Now, set all into a natural rhythm of breathing that feels peaceful for you. Repeat silently to yourself. Let. And as you exhale, repeat silently, go.
Let go.
Let go. As you settle in here, more and more, connect to the feeling of ground beneath you. Rest heavy against the bed, chair, or ground.
One definition of grounded is to be family established.
Notice a sense of being family established here. Begin to imagine that you are lying on the ground
in a grove of redwood trees. The soil is soft like an earthen bat, the damp ground and nearby tree bark emit a distinct,
earthy, woody scent.
The grounding smells of the grove are soothing. Your body settles in even more against the soft soil.
