Starting point is 00:01:14 These are simple relaxation that anybody can listen to and fall asleep with. and fall asleep with. I'm by no means a specialist or a hypnotherapist, but I do understand exactly what it feels like when you just can't get off to sleep. So hopefully, by listening to the sound of my voice and by following along with this relaxation we can get you there. So to begin with, find a comfy position. For tonight's relaxation I would recommend laying on your back if it is comfortable for you to do so.
Starting point is 00:02:09 This will help you breathe deeply and focus on relaxing your body. Now, close your eyes and let your arms rest by your side or with your hands placed on your stomach. Take a deep breath in, feeling your belly and chest expand and release the air back out. In your own time, continue to take some steady, deep breaths. Don't rush, but don't get bogged down on timing either. Each of us have our own pattern of breath. So you just inhale and exhale, however feels comfortable for you. Now, in just the same way that we flicker light switch off, an intern switch off the energy and the brightness in a room. We're going to visualize a light switch for your toes.
Starting point is 00:04:10 At the moment this switch your toes off. So that's exactly what you can do. Now, move your attention to your feet and your ankles. Feel the muscles there and any tension that's still lingers. And then switch the light for your feet and ankles off as well. Now move up to your lower legs. When you may feel some aches or tension from the day, still for your upper legs. For your waist and your toes feel more soft, more tired. you
